LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Slightly annoying traffic by JOrbits 2017-12-05T06:34:40Z

Many games are fun to play and win, and this is no exception.

Its also a lot of fun to lose though!

This game is gorgeous, by the way.

Doubloon Lagoon! by Nikolaj 2017-12-05T06:44:28Z

Beautiful game! Reminds me of a childhood favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Dav39GAfHM

Did you get a real-life pirate to do voice acting?

It's raining tennis balls! by SraBatata 2017-12-05T05:29:12Z

With more polish, a concept like this can become a good little mobile app. Very simple and intuitive with a clear play session length is a great combination for a mobile game!

I'd suggest a mute button though :)

LD44 — Your life is currency

Life is precious by freso 2019-05-07T05:29:18Z

Good entry! Hitting the nests could use a bit more feedback -- at first I didn't think I was doing anything until it suddenly popped.

Thew core idea of using lives to upgrade is great, but the limited number of lives made it difficult to explore all of the weapons. Perhaps a marathon mode, starting with 100 lives, would allow players to experiment more. Newer players could give themselves a buff using their lives while experienced players might want to be conservative to make it to the end.

Gold Digger 2084 by Tony Redmer 2019-05-04T17:33:45Z

Fun and responsive Shooter. Level transitions are a little seizure-inducing, but the experience is sharp!

Age of Coin - Battle Stars: ULTRA by squirmonkey 2019-05-01T15:20:56Z

I found myself wanting to go back to the coin arena while platforming -- not because the platforming was bad but because I wanted to hear more of that sweet voice acting.

Contract Cleric by Vinay Rao 2019-05-04T18:00:33Z

The core gameplay of this game is good! I didn't find my attention too divided (using the HUD to monitor HP and cooldowns) but when I did look back at the action it was quite a cluster. Having the characters spaced out or switching to a top-down perspective would help with that.

Its a shame that the spell tooltips weren't in-game, but once I learned the 5 abilities it was easy to remember what they do!

Root Maker by Joe Bustamante 2019-05-04T17:47:33Z

Cute concept, but I think the missing QoL features pushed me away. It was not clear how the exchange rate worked (bigger number means cheaper in this game) and my backspace key kept moving me to a previous webpage. I wound up leaving my buy/sell amounts at a static amount and just mashing the button.

On-Screen keyboard would be a great help -- can't wait to play the director's cut!

Veins of Gold by slagathor 2019-04-30T23:06:56Z

Cute game! By the end of it my veins were empty but my heart was full -- of love for my dog! Shame I couldn't actually buy the surgery though, but I guess I can bury the poor pooch in a pile of money instead.

This made me very uncomfortable.

5/5 rating. I wish I never played it.

LD46 — Keep it alive

not quite home by daniel 2020-04-22T01:13:22Z

@chromableedstudios Thank you for the feedback! I think that you may have played our first upload -- there was an issue with rendering the water for the lake. We haven't moved any elements around but maybe things are a bit more immersive now! It'd be great if you gave it another shot :).

Grove by doodlebrisk 2020-04-21T02:06:56Z

This is a very cute and simple experience. The sharp jumps remind me of Myst and the audio takes me back to Runescape for some reason. I wish that there was a "theraputic" rating category -- you'd get 5 stars!

I used to use an old Windows app called "Microsoft Bob". It basically had different desktops with links to apps/folders contained in a collection of cute and interactable themes. This feels like it could be one of those themes in a modern MSBob!

@meansquarederror Thank you for playing the game and for your review!

marble maze hero by daniel 2021-10-11T06:03:03Z

@weine Thank you for playing! I appreciate your review :). I'm happy with how the game board looks while playing.

marble maze hero by daniel 2021-10-11T06:04:29Z

@lakrits We had a few ideas for what to do with the holes in the board, but we had to settle for what worked in the time given. One of our ideas was to have a cave system that monsters would move around in before crawling back to the surface, but your idea sounds better. We wanted the holes to be a punishment, and if the monster "escape" to attack the town that would be a great metaphor.

And yeah, the arrows feel very underpowered :P.

Store Oasis by freso 2021-10-09T04:38:28Z

Nice idea, cute robots. I didn't find myself worrying about the balancing aspect at all though. Hard to tell if it was safe to steal anything, but then again that's the risk when you go against the law. Thank you for putting the HTML5 logo in the thumbnail.

Ascent by rbeattie 2021-10-09T04:32:15Z

You brought something new to the platforming table, which I appreciate. My main gripe is with the visibility of the platforms. I had trouble figuring out if I froze a platform in its intangible state.

Ex-spelled by afells 2021-10-09T04:29:25Z

Cute game. I appreciate the first level or two introducing the player. There's a lot of levels, which is fine, but I found them getting same-y. Either way, keep up the good work.
