So. Damn. Gorgeous. Birds chirping fits so good also. The controls are really weird though, tried playing with a controller, but had to sit at an angle to the screen for it to feel somewhat natural.. I love the "companion cube"-style mechanic though!

Cool mechanic, took a while to learn how to control it, but it was a very good kind of challenging! blood looks freaking awesome!
That music. Damn. Almost made me cry! The physics work really well, takes a while to get used to, but works really well when you get the hang of it! Loved everything about this except the end, *spoiler* the potato really destroyed the atmosphere for me :(

Simple mechanic that works flawlessly, sometimes a bit annoying to lose your sword from walking into a wall, but it's part of the charm, after a while I got pretty good at handling it, and it felt sooo good! Could maybe be a bit more fastpaced, but maybe that would just make it harder.. Anwyays, great game!

Pretty interesting, hitting enemies is hard, and it's kinda frustrating to miss and be forced to kill yourself because you can't get passed an enemy. Finding the key is very satisfying though!
Very good story telling. Telling such a convincing story in such a short time is very impressive! When getting out of the "common room talk" I got a bug making me talk to someone everytime I pressed interact after that, I made it to the end anyway, just a bit annoying. Is that Hexels for some of the backgrounds btw? :D

Simply amazing, so simple, so satisfying, so challenging! Only complaint is the sound effect when clicking, I want to spamclick to move but the sound is really annoying after a while, except for that this game is amazing! :D

Super meat boy meets invert gravity? Amazing! This game is so fucking solid, graphics are super tight, controls are fucking perfect! The music is kinda meh, but that's allright.. The level design is really fucking great(maybe except for level16)! You fucking win.

Hey this is really cool! Gameplay seems unnecessarily slow to me, but after level ~6 or so it becomes really interesting with the amount of enemies that appear! The enemies are varied and makes for interesting gameplay, especially with the bullets that die between water/air, really cool! Impressive work in such short time!

5 in all fields from me actually, this is probably the most dangest cool game I've played yet! The graphics are amazing, the way the controls work are super smart and even the sound is really good! The gameplay is a bit on the slowside and I don't really get why the "move" button is needed, but graphics and music are both great, and it brings a very different feeling to healing in between gameplay! Good game overall!

Okay. Wow, I really want to love this game, but the platforming really makes me want to break something, the weird momentum and stiff jumping, coupled with strange jumpheight really makes me angry.. :( Apart from that though, WOW, holy fuck it looks so cool when you change between gamemodes! I ALMOST beat level 2 (after dying in pits or some stupid shit about 50 times) and the "figure out what to hit to progress" mechanic is sooo damn sweet! If those platforming controls where better this game would win the compo fo' sho'

Defending is pointless after the first fight, I knew what half of the spells actually did, I had no idea who the enemies was targeting and the "ultimate" spells bugged out when I tried them. AND YET I LOVED THIS GAME, maybe because of all that bullshit, this game feels like a loveletter and hatemail combined to all those old RPG games, it's so phenomenal! Love it! <3

This is really cool. A bit hard to take in maybe, I played 2 games before reading the rules and I had no idea what I was doing, even after reading the rules some of the mechanics was still a bit blurry(especially the "intersections cut lines" thing) but it plays very well and it seems to bring some interesting tactical choices when playing versus a friend I think?
Good stuff! Oh also of course, I have to mention how pretty the graphics are, love the subtle effect from the shadow world. The music made me VERY impressed with how well the different notes fit in with the mellow background music! You did a daaaamn good job here! :D

This game is really really really really really good! It feels so damn good, the immediate controls and simple gameplay makes it easy to just pick up with a friend and play without having to explain a bunch!
I'm a bit confused as to how the "damage" works tho, sometimes hitting the other player gives me a point, other times it just stuns them? It doesn't really impact gameplay since you just concentrate on hitting the other player until the screen tells you to move, but still!

This game was certainly an interesting experience for me. Starting out, there wasn't much I liked at all. The music in the menus seemed better than in the main game, the hitboxes where WAY to small and fighting felt really punishing, there was so little gold awarded I didn't level up until level 3, and by then I had probably died 20 times already..
Then all of a sudden the game just clicked for me.. All of a sudden I could kill these damned skeletons, at least most of the time. The game that I had previously found so damn frustrating was all of a sudden really damn rewarding instead! Every time I got to a new level I sat back and listened to my character strum away for a couple minutes, taking a little breather before going back to bashing in skulls..
I don't really know what happened, maybe I'm just so spoiled with really fast paced arcady games that I'm not used to the more precise controls in this one?
Anyways, dude, you've made a shit tonne of cool shit here! <3 The music is fucking GREAT holy shit, I love that there's different songs for the level up screen? And like, the moody deathscreen with the short song there and stuff, Guuhh<3
I'll just have to give you a bit of shit about the art and how you spin pixels and shit. It may be me personally, but like, you have REALLY solid pixel art, but to me the overall visual appeal goes way down from SEEING that it is just upscaled sprites when they spin around and stuff you know? (And also the way you faded the pixels on the splash/death/level up screen looks like an obvious PS brush and looks a bit .. unprofessional?) .. I don't know, like, it's such small details that I can't really complain, but at the same time it's very small fixes that, for me, would heighten the visual appeal even more!
That said, I played this game for well over an hour, if you take out the parts where I just listened to the music, at some point I realized I wasn't playing a bought "real game" haha, to me that is a VERY good thing to achieve with something you created in 3 days!

This is probably the most ambitious thing I've ever played coming from Ludum Dare.
There's SO MANY GUNS to choose from! LOVE IT! :D They all play very differently, both in terms of how they shoot, but also how some of them act as transportation/shields etc as well, VERY COOL!
The game feels a bit disconnected. I played with some people that could explain the game over Skype(Alex included lol) as we played, but it still took a minute to get what was going on. Since you can't see the other players I didn't understand at first why my turrets disappeared(they get shot down by other players in their client etc).. I'd like to see the other players running around or something in a game like this I think..
There's an upside to that though, that since I can't see the other players, I always felt like I was making progress! Like "Hey I'm setting up a turret here all by myself and making progress by myself" which at least to me felt cool, since I felt important in a way that a noob seldom feels in online multiplayer!
There's also this weird thing in when you place a turret for the first time, you have no idea what it actually will do. I can't really complain about this because it adds depth to the gameplay where experienced players will place their turrets more strategically which is awesome!
Overall I'm VERY fucking impressed with this game! It really feels like an async version of Awesomenauts or something! I don't know if it makes sense, but this doesn't feel like a jam-game to me, this feels like a prototype that you should pitch to someone to make into a full game.

Okay wow. Dude. What the hell just happened to me? WHAT THE HELL?
This game caught me off guard. It crams up the weirdness JUST until you're getting a grip on things, and then it vomits out something new to set you off! The graphics are disgustingly beautiful in their twisted way. Pacing is perfect and the music fits right in.
This game is art.

Oh my goodness, that was the sweetest thing I ever saw! I love all the details in the drawings, so cute! Haha, and the characters are so lovably stereotype! I've never played a set of quick time events that I actually enjoyed before and it made me burst out in laughter at several occasions, great job! :D (ps. the "I'm in a dangerous mood" line is perfect xD )

This story had me on edge all the way through, I had a lump in my chest from the tension that made me want to puke when the ending hit. This was incredible..
There's a bunch of spelling mistakes, but I feel like an ass pointing them out, heh..
ps. while in the morgue a neighbor knocked my door and it made me scream because I thought it was the game, completely wrapped up in the story! ^^
The lighting on the huge pixels look great, especially with the use of surface materials like this! This is certainly an artstyle I'd like to see more of! :)

Alright, I'll be frank, I really don't like this game.
Let's begin with some good stuff. The overall aesthetics, with how the art style, music, the "writings on the walls" and the story ties together is completely masterful. Everything down to the level select screen feels lovingly thought of in a way that not many can do in the short time span. Kudos!
Okay here goes.
I hate how you walk slower when you carry the lantern. It took me ages to feel like I had some sort of control over my jumps and stuff. I blame this a bit on the constant shift in how the character controls. You run so very fast when not carrying that even the slightest misstep means death.
The orb bouncing feels REALLY good, but when I'm supposed to get it to land on a teeeney tiny platform and it just bounced away into a puddle of water it made me want to punch something.
The FUCKING water.
The attack is so puny! I feel like the combat is so secondary to this games design that making it this difficult to hit an enemy feels unnecessary. Especially since you also have to stand in the light to attack..
Alright, I think that's it. I want to emphasize that the only reason I bitch like this is because it's a REALLY fucking cool game. It just has a bunch of, what I think is, little hiccups.. I admire you Daniel, like the fanboyiest fanboy, and you made something I don't LOVE, so I'm butthurt as fuck. Sorry.

This game is adorable, and sad. I love it. I tried again and again but I can't get past the door though!:( I know WHAT to do, just can't pull it off haha, I'll have to try it again at some point!
I really dig the dialogs, and the way the flowers gets stomped upon, and the simple animations, and the fighting is super simple and smart! And I love that weight everything has and you can push it around! The color scheme is super nice! I love it!
Only thing that bothers me is the difficulty, haha! I mean, it's not too bad really, but for a jam game I feel it could be a bit more forgiving heh^^

Woah, that was nerve wrecking.. I died to beasts a lot, and when I finally met the gorgon the first time I panicked and forgot what to do! I loved that feeling of "holy crap I'm looking for a thing that I'm not really sure how to hurt/kill" until I figured it out!
Apart from the popping tiles I think the graphics work pretty well! The animations are really good! :)
You really nailed that "I'm feeling worthless with this mirror shard against this monster"-feeling in this one, heavy mood all throughout! Great job!

I think this game is just as abstract as it needs to be. While playing I was continuously confused as to what was happening, but after playing I feel like that was the point. Someone is nice to me one day, which makes me stronger, but the next day they're not, and it breaks my heart.
The way people act are difficult to understand, and you reflect that very well in your game.
I enjoyed it, very much.
ps. The second day I thought "Hey I don't wanna talk to these people they're mean.." but the game kind of forces you to talk with everyone? It felt a bit silly, but hey, jam games

Huhhh, I like how the kinda sloppy controls make this so much more panicky, I got almost 200 gold at some point and got super nervous and sloppy and fucked up big time and died, haha :D Graphics add to the panic imo, being a bit claustrophobic with the short viewdistance etc. Good overall design, I liked it a lot! :D

Anyways, reaaaaaally fucking welldesigned game here, holy shit. Respawn points are plenty but still placed just far apart to make it challenging, nice variety of obstacles and shit, I really liked the game a lot dude, good job! :D
Only thing I have to complain about is the lack of .. feedback? Like .. teleporting the sprite on death with no effects or anything feels like a bit of an insult to the amazing art you've got there.. :|

oufff this game is too hard for me. looks great tho, and i really dig the story telling through images like that. i dig how helpless you feel when down on 1 health, since you can't save, so it feels like you're just desperately scouting what's to come, hoping to do better on your next try. a bit frustrating at times tho, the floating enemies that shoot bullets all around them very early on took me a good handful of tries to get past haha.
oh boy. thanks for giving me 5 minutes of introspection. i can imagine this having been hard to make. this game'll stay with me for a long while i think.
got 20605 points! :) i'm impressed by the amount of you content you've got in, but the game feels really unfair. enemies spawn on top of me a lot of times, there's no feedback on when i hit an enemy and the player hitbox seem really big to me? good entry overall tho, good job Marty! :D
this is great. super juicy, and i like this concept of simple choices that have big consequences. and it's nice that you get such a cute and round friend to hang out with! however, it got a bit repetetive after a while, i found myself just sacrificing people left and right because i just wanted to see what'd happen at the end? i got 13 weeks in at least :)
