Superb. I quickly identified with the crew. Would love to see their further adventures.
Not proud to say that... but I shoot the useless psychiatrist
Great social experiment! Yet I am a bit sad that people don't agree with my colors :)
Wow, this is really fancy idea - the ruleset should be simplified in both complexity and visual design so it would be more appealing for average players. Also I am Polish so you kind of bought me with vodka (:
Hey cool idea and execution! I really like how your coding skills are improving. Your code architecture is really close to my preferences.
I love the ... polygon animal, feels like Salvador Dali. The assets could be more consequent, overall quite a well established entry for a 48h
Love the assets. Very well polished and executed however lacks some engaging elements.
Because of these spikes you could literally remove character movement anyways because all you want to do is stay in the middle for the whole time.
Great base for improvements.
Hey this is actually a fun game when you realize it's 3d and read the instructions! Good job.
Great idea! Feels like Cannon Fodder mixed with Armor Alley. Hope to see it improving.
Kinda way too hard even with instructions. Top notch sound experience!
Hello jam winner! I am sure this will be a hit if you decide to finish it.
With 10 people it is getting actually fun.
Could be easily improved if the balls had acceleration and collisions instead of instant movement.
Then you can easily tell who should get the point by comparing velocity and direction vectors http://cssdeck.com/labs/i2yncyr8
Psychadelic soundtrack :P
Of course when I got spell 3 I immediately went to destroy the village (: Capable engine, well executed graphics but lacks some idea for gameplay.
Speed up both player movement and windows pop-outs. Think about something more engaging to use this (very cool!) cube terrain.
Epic graphics, I kind of don't like making jumps of faith, but great entry overall.
Thank you all. The sleepless weekend really pays off its cost by these cheerful comments. Haven't even expected that it will bring so much attention.
> Just don't see a relation to the theme...
Well, in my opinion the gameplay is really minimalistic and the assets are quite puristic. I tried to avoid a pattern that is "I will put crappy graphics because it makes game minimalistic"
That's interesting game. It really reminds me of some early puristic space sims. Good base for some space trading game.
Trivia: my cat sat on "space" and beat the game
despite of that very cheerful entry :)
Pretty cool. Would be nice if there was "just peek into another dimension" feature
Oh brilliant. I am actually clicking everything that is related. Amazing gamedeveloper you are.
We need Frustration category in LD. Awesome graphics.
I am in love. Again.
Wish I made THIS game.
Fantastic execution. Very chilling experience
I am giving this 5 stars for innovation.
Doodle doodle doodle.... Love.
I am not a fan of watching cutscenes before I am bound to the game but other than that - brilliant!
Fancy explosion effect. All it needs are powerups and difficulty curve.
Brilliant.
[Mark of approval]
CUTE!
So violent! I like.
Great aesthetics
Oh, a true chiptune. Love the music.
Github 404
I liked the atmosphere of constantly being in danger of suffocation... or some other kind of evil unpleasant presence.... + for sounds
Ahhhh, so these are clones! I thought it is multiplayer. Also... W S A D
Beautiful! Looks totally like some grimm fairytale... also I like how the bear dies in mid-air
This is adorable. The gameplay is not so well yet but I think the idea has potential.
Oh my cuteness. Very nice idea for the gameplay involving time stopping.
Great assets. Kewl interlace in menu. Stardust meets Dark Colony.
WSAD + Mouse. I really enjoyed the atmosphere - felt like Sanitarium... and of course lovely graphics. Disturbing - didn't zen this time (:
Very nice graphics, by the thumbnail I thought it might be Cellusious or Mrmo Tarius
[Mark of approval]
I like the shaking and glowing effect on main character. Try to make everything faster - add sinusoidal paths to enemies - bind mouse Y position to the ship Y position - and see how your game improves in a minute.
I love the artistic approach of this entry<3
Quite innovative idea here. Really feels like an early windows game - which is great for the mood. I find the dynamics and easings too sluggish.
So artsy!
Great use of.... everything
Brilliant palette!
I hope this mutated things won't get out of my screen. Looks like ... really mutated after a while.
Oh wow, great doodling skills.
There is a nice idea behind these not really appealing aesthetics. With help of a musician and an artist it could be actually pretty fun.
It screams - Shadow Warrior
Great music really gets you in a mood for being focused. Like the idea - some graphics and it could be an android game.
Brilliant mate. You have improved in both quality and gameplay design since last LD
Awesome low-poly, great ideas - daytime/night and being forced to play one or the other character. Very professional execution level.
Not very clear at first time but after a while it turns out to be a great idea fun!
Funny idea. Could use some better informative layer
Great voice acting and assets. Have a spare handkerchief?
Adorable. Would be fun with some night creatures trying to get you when the lights are off.
Nice execution... and dithering :) Could use some better color palette - try Dawnbringer 16.
Oh my!... I want to make music for this. Poke me. Graphics 6/5
Every time I beat the level I was like -- WTF just happened? Brilliant dynamics!
what did I just played =0
That's nonsense. I love it.
Destructible terrain. Awesome. I would really play [buy] full version of this.
This. Yes.
Seriously - one of the coolest idea in platformers.
Linux please o/
I've recognized your art. Came to give it some love. Great game.
Oh this is the most cheerful village ever.
I have noticed the very cute tail animation!
Good physics - if it is javascript I would consider porting it to Android/IOS (cocoonjs) since it is a good material for touch/tap game.
I am a Dilbert! Very moody
Oh bugger, doesn't want to work under WINE. Looks like a reverse Limbo with triceratops. Totally alluring.
I can sense a new Canabalt
I didn't liked the gameplay too much - but couldn't stop playing because the music and visuals! Cool physics and very moody prod.
Hello winning content
@madmaw: click on URL - hit F12 - switch to console - F5 to reload and copy paste what it says :)
@AlanZucconi:
It depends on how you look at 48h - it is actually equivalent 6 working days :)
The only hard part on AI was the autopilot that can take you to any destination successfully land on a planet and avoid collisions. Once you have that the rest is just a simple state-machine that is deciding what should be the next destination.
For each planet there are cached trading routes (where can I take the stock to earn on it) - these are randomly picked by traders who land on a planet.
Anything that lands on planet and has cargo automatically sells it.
Autopilot actions are more important than AI mission (that is to avoid collisions)
Piracy, mining, bounty-hunting, trading - it is everything similar action - what differs are just the destinations.
Then there are some little exceptions like - mining - is observing the asteroid for spawning anything - and then switch destination to the spawned thing. Observer if there is anything in cargo bay - if yes - switch destination to planet (autopilot will take authority over AI as soon as it gets in gravity range)
I know that's technically this is not very explanatory. But technically it is just a state-machine :)
Oh my, need to take a nap. My linguistic skills are diminishing.
@CaptainKraft: yes I know - it happens - sometimes :| Also I should disable ability to shoot when you have landed.
It is javascript - hence the source is available through any browser. Here is some unconcatenated source tho http://rezoner.net/labs/jamesonthepilot/script/
Some dates are past LD as I were adding tutorial and fixing crash bugs.
The art looks so lovely. Wish Linux could into Unity Web Player
Love the dynamics
I liked hands mechanics.... and the.... niam niam niam niam
Enjoy your humor points :)
Uh, WINE is crashing and the title screen looks so seducing.
Once you understand what id does - it becomes a pretty cool game!
Wrong comment - this game is cool from the beginning :)
Yay. So many games with Phaser this LD. Shot guide lines would be useful - and persistent rotation state.
Very well executed in forms of aesthetics. A bit confusing - but patient people will like it.
Oh, that's a touching story :) Pretty artstyle
The voice acting - so nice! The controls - so bad. The visuals - brilliant. If that had Frontier or Privateer mechanics - I would love it.
This game has everything. Really my second favorite so far.
Great art and arcade machine concept. Pretty confusing and actually you could fix that sword button (:
Very well executed. I am also getting curious about this goo-engine.
Once you understand what id does - it becomes a pretty cool game!
Wow mate, the art style - so adorable. Now I am also curious about the Playcanvas thing.
I wonder how to write AI that calculates the best shot.
Man - all stars for the innovation. If this is original idea it is material for a hit - you just need a better execution and marketing.
Top notch graphics as always. I believe it can turn into a good puzzle game if you manage to made some riddles.
In my Amiga days - I didn't cared what the game was about - if it had shop - it was a good game already. Cheerful prod, especially pixels.
One of these games where I had to finally read the instructions after randomly clicking everything on the screen :)
Linux cannot into Unity Web Player :\
5 out of 5 for innovation
Outstanding set of skills. The music sounds really OPL/Adlib. My only concern would be that the help layer could move by per grid basis instead of fluently moving with player. 5 stars nevertheless.
I hope people will have patience to understand the mechanics as it is totally worth it! Great visuals and voiceover - I would replace music with something ... more like music :)
Since everyone will be praising the assets I must point out how important (and good) decision it was to pick that particular control scheme.
