Is like judo but whit guns! :D
at first the interface puzzled me a little, then i read the description, then the physics puzzled me a little... then i kept playing and enjoyed a nice level design progress.
There is no goal, right?
Oh! It was difficult but I made it! I thought it was impossible to win, dog and robot rest in peace, though :(
Beautiful game, I loved it!
Cool!
It took me a while to understand what was going on. I could only guess that when the circles and the triangles match you gain some time, then I did that again and again till I reached the final stage, but I suppose I could have done better (getting all the triangles form the bottom... but how?).
Nice presentation!
good title xD
it reflects what i felt while playing xD
I think that it good too slow at first (4 or 5 rects with the same color?) and then it gets very hard too quickly. You should tune that curve.
Everything else look, sounds and feels really good. Good game!
Very innovative, but you still have to work a little on the mechanic, because right now is really easy and is not far from good.
I like this mechanic, but even more how you implemented it. This says "minimalism" better a Mondriand graphics clone.
This really is minimalism in games! Also engaging ;)
I wish it was a little easier. It gets frustrating falling and falling endlessly. Maybe if you could move in mid air returning to the tower... it would require a lot of climbing and such anyway. I got to the baby but I couldn't interact with it. And Im not sure if it was always the same tower or each time you fall you go to a different one.
great game! too short
Awesome graphics! A little journey-ish (i should remark that i haven't played journey yet). The procedular landscape makes it feel like really getting lost in the dessert. There is not much to do but waiting and get some energy and try to find new buildings that some times are too too far away to reach... well, just like a real desert xD
At first it was difficult for me to see how the game worked. When I understood the mechanic I managed to reach the end without problems, but I couldn't understand half of the story. It's a shame because I feel I'm missing something good :(
In a game as minimal as this, there is not much to add after all the comments you received. It wasn't bad, but could have been a lot better.
It has a bug that tries to kill my browser when the ball form lvl 9 cant solve correctly it's collision between the mirror and a wall:P
Besides that, I really enjoyed it!
I couldn't play... I couldn't even understand how to play. I see what I am supposed to do but it's to hard! Even If I could jump with both squares at the same time it would be difficult, and the first 3 seconds every restart feel like a waste of time. But the idea looks so good, you should try and fix this, you have to try and see if it's fun after you tune it a little more.
graphics and sound are quite bad, but the core mechanic is very well implemented. i could see it more polished as a casual web game.
The way it uses the keyboard reminds me of the old arcades, that's something we have lost in this smartphone times. Well done!
I found all of the lights and then took the black exit... it works with real life zebras or pictures of zebras too?
every time I'm more convinced that flash doesn't work for this type of games where time accuracy is so important :/
Well done voxel! You covered all the aspects without leaving any detail unattended. Did you choose the keys on purpose? They make you put your hand and arm in a quite particular position.
Oh, i see we have an extra hour... i will tune the colors a little, some of them appear in more than one level.
not too hard, it's just an "invert" draw and some custom collisions. you can see the source if you want, 6 or 7 basic classes with a web lines of code.
I updated because there was a silly bug at level 8 at prevented you from winning (the colors from the background did not mach the ones of the squares, rendering the winning condition impossible). That's the only change I made... If I could i would add more levels before the 3th to make the difficulty curve smoother :P
Thanks to all of you who played the game for all the comments! It's been some really useful feedback ^^
SPOILER HINT:
the goal is to hide all the squares using areas of their same color.
when two circles overlap, the color changes again, so you can toy a little with the game and see which patterns could be good to solve each level. 3rd level is way too difficult after the first too, the easiest way to win is being fast in that one.
Wow! This game's totally potatoing!
yet an other mondriand game :P
it looks very good and it plays good too, until you find the bugs...
I like the connection between the theme and the mechanics ;)
First game I see done with AGS this compo! Is a good program for retro AG, but anything else turns hard to make and of little quality :/
Well... it's not that bad for an "unfinished game"
This game is a little too frustrating. I really felt lost and a little ... stressed I suppose. Maybe too minimalist? To the point you don't know whats going on? I made some progress but couldn't finish the game and gave up.
At first I rated 1star in mood for how bad it made me feel, but then I decided that it was more of a good thing that the game could generate such feelings... in a twisted way.
I really like the mechanic you came up with. At first you see and try to understand, and you cant. But little by little, the rules unfold themselves until you understand how the game works. :D It could be more polished in the interface aspect. A timer in-game to see how you're doing, a catchy tune and a good font. I hope you keep working on this.
It lacks some sense of depth, i can't know if an asteroid is behind me before I try to collect it. the fact that your size changes doesn't help :/ maybe if you added fog (check render settings if you haven't) that would help.
What the game is about? I managed to finish the game, but still I feel like i'm missing something.
good graphics and music!
Innovative mechanic! I don't liked the other aspects of the game that much. The first levels make a good tutorial, congratz!
I got stuck down in a ceiling corner :(
Interesting approach. A little frustrating :P
At some point, aftyer jumping the gap with the move symbols and getting the first big green circle the game just wen pure white :s
in axonometrical 3D perspective is hard to tell where are things. and if objects are floating without connections between them it makes it even harder. you could have used a perspective camera. it has some bugs and needs polishing but overall is a good idea, keep working on it :)
very funny, but it needs more potato
somewhere in the middle of those ladders my robot managed to get inside the concrete and then to the unknown :P
I loved it! You managed to get something original out of a platformer.
this is perfect
this is perfect
843 peeps!
One of the best games of the compo so far :D
Let me see... is there something I didn't like? Maybe the font, that's it.
Congratulations!
Very innovative! It becomes a little hard because a small change in the curve can make a lot of difference in the trajectory of the beam.
Could you upload a video so we can see how the game would be if we had XBox controller?
Too difficult, but still beautiful and innovative, it just needs a little tweaking ;D Maybe with a slower speed would be enough.
In my opinion... as a game I don't get this... It might be some kind of statement about art, but I wouldn't call it "game".
What you have there is a toy, and a toy can be easily turned into a game: just add some goals. For instance: different object combinations or ways to arrange objects unlock achievements (like a recipe check list).
Colorvade, that's ok too. A toy is not a bad thing.
I hadn't thought that (quoting you :P) "...the goal of the game is just to make something not terrible, as opposed to something beautiful, hah."
Interesting approach ^^
I managed to collect many cubes, around 6 I believe, then I scaled that place in your main picture, pushed a button and didn't know what to do next. So I came back and it teleported me to the 4th room or so. And the connections between rooms are a little buggy and some times you just end up falling in limbo. Then I stopped playing, but the end felt so near :(
I'm really glad that you finished a game for the compo! maybe next time we can all jam (individually, in the compo) together :D
When I reached 1402 all the houses where empty... I guess I abducted all the population in that planet xD
It's a little boring in my opinion, sorry. You should polish that mechanics to make it less repetitive and tedious. Maybe if you could rotate the frame and then painted whole rows instead of pixels...
I like to see that you approached the theme from a different angle. But you could as well used minimalistic graphics and that pattern texture is a little ugly. It lacked the emotional attachment that it needed, some blocks in the way don't mean as much to me as people do... and the graphics and music could have helped in that sense.
The first time I played without knowing that you could shoot, that changes the experience completely and kinda ruins the game. Never underestimate some tutorial (just tell the player which keys he can press).
Good game! needs a little balance, loosing feels unfair most of the time. I like the style.
Good game! needs a little balance, loosing feels unfair most of the time. I like the style. Ran without problems for me.
It's strange, the game was much harder the second time, after reading the instructions :s
WOW this should be in a museum! What I'm saying? this must be in the internet where lots of people can play it. 5 stars to Mood, form all the games I played here, if I gave any other that rate in Modd, they didn't deserve it as much as this game.
I wanna play!
The graphics where not minimalistic and a little off with the theme but at the same time beautiful.
at first it's confusing, then it's funny :P
When i saw the theme I thought "i can take any genre and just implement the core mechanic and that's it". well, you really captured the soul of snakes and ladders!
Good game! A minimap to see the whole level at all times would be useful to avoid potatoes.
Don't worry, you'll do better next time. At least you have something playable! :3
I like the glowing effect!
OMG I choose the commentator difficulty by mistake and got stuck doing 50 levels with minor variations. That's not easier, that's a grinding thread mill, just the opposed thing to minimalism. The "next level button" would be best placed at the center of the screen, it's a long travel to the corner.
473 points... a little boring IMHO. Your game tries to give you choices but is all about calculations. If you haven't yet I recommend you to watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg8fVtKyYxY
Well, at least it was minimalistic.
this is wonderful! Like a trip to another dimension. I never seen such fast immersion before. Thanks for giving us this gift :D
is good to try to simplify... but what you keep should magnify the experience by taking things away instead of adding features... the platformed genre has been overused :P
The voice helps a lot setting the mood :D
