LD24 — Evolution

Evolve and Build to be Able to Code by cardboard 2012-08-28T20:31:00

I should have stated that the last level was the end of the game. I was going to incorporate the levers as the last puzzle, but didn't have time to figure that out.

Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to play my game :)

LD25 — You are the Villain

Lunar Frenzy by Fireblend 2012-12-17T21:36:00

Unfortunately this didn't work on my crap Android device. Fun game for making it in such little time, and it looks really good. The only problem is shaking the mines off with a mouse, because I ended up just collecting even more mines than I first had.

The Crown Jewels Job by Will Edwards 2013-01-06T19:16:00

My only gripes are that the controls were a little bit wonky and sometimes I wasn't sure where to jump. Other than those things though, the artwork is really cool, and the game was fun to play. I only messed around with the editor for a little, but it is really cool.

MEMEX by Cake&Code 2013-01-03T06:33:00

Very nice visuals, unique story, and the music reminded me of Professor Layton :) Very well done.

Spread by mailman105 2013-01-06T18:38:00

Neat game, but the game never gave me more than about 5 trees to burn down, so I could beat rather quickly. This seems like it would be a lot of fun if you keep working on it.

Invasion! by xgeovanni 2013-01-07T05:17:00

Cool game! I felt like the saucer was too large and slow (until upgrading) to dodge anything at all, so I took a lot of damage until I got enough scrap to upgrade. Also, the game crashed when I ran out of HP, so I ran the game again from a command prompt and it worked, so I am not sure what happened the first time. Bonus points for using Python 3 :)

Vixen by bentosmile 2012-12-18T04:41:00

I don't want to be a jerk anymore!

Behind Blue Pixels by azurenimbus 2013-01-06T21:20:00

Nice! Interesting concept and very nicely executed. The game feels very complete, even though a little short. Took me a couple of tries but I eventually beat it.

You're a Bastard! by CappaGames 2013-01-07T05:51:00

I like the mini game variety, although the game is a bit short. Sound would have helped a lot, even if it was only sound effects. Other than that it was fun to play and funny at times.

Terminal by BenW 2012-12-18T02:46:00

At first I didn't know what to do so I started attacking the white blood cells, but then I realized I was an idiot and a virus so I started infecting crap. Fun game, I will try again to beat it when I have some free time.

Cure 48 by SonnyBone 2012-12-20T06:28:00

The music was awesome and just made the mood even more intense, especially during the return trip. Great ending.

Lil Assassin by RylandAlmanza 2013-01-07T04:51:00

Fun game, but pretty challenging (for me at least). The wall run/jump mechanic was pretty neat. I would probably take some more time to try to beat it if I had more time. It would have been nice to have sound effects and/or music.

Super realistic meteor simulator by rolfeth 2012-12-17T05:44:00

Song got a little repetitive at the end, but the game was fun and sound effects were funny. I've been meaning to check out DartLang for awhile now, and after seeing this I'll definitely check it out before the next LD.

MidBoss by Eniko 2012-12-18T02:23:00

Awesome game! I really like the graphics. Unfortunately I suck really bad at game so I can't get past level 3. I'll most likely play this again at some point in the future when I have more time.

We Are Promoted Toknight by EatenAlive3 2012-12-20T06:39:00

I really like your game :) The music was great, the graphics were good, and I like how the peasants don't disappear until you stop stabbing them. Very nice.

Kill Ville by ConflictiveLabs 2013-01-06T19:42:00

Lots of fun!
Very polished game.

Kill Ville by ConflictiveLabs 2013-01-06T19:42:00

Lots of fun!
Very polished game.
I had to download the Windows version so I can play this again later :)

None Shall Pass by cardboard 2012-12-19T00:25:00

I am pretty sure I fixed the problem with the .love file. Apparently capitalization of the library names when requiring them doesn't matter for the exe, but was causing errors for the .love file.

None Shall Pass by cardboard 2013-01-06T20:53:00

Thanks for all the comments so far! I am working on a Post-Comp version and am taking all comments and suggestions into account :)

Decommissioner by Crowbeak 2013-01-07T06:06:00

Very intense and engaging. And great storytelling. Your game was a joy to play.

Minion's Defense by Scott McBee 2012-12-17T21:54:00

Very nice! First time the knight killed me, but then I just built towers to get behind him and attack him. Very fun to beat.

G.O.A.T. by ChainedLupine 2013-01-07T04:57:00

The particle effects after each goatmurder made me feel like an even worse person than the one I was for killing innocent goats.

HeroesFall by Yacodo 2013-01-06T19:52:00

Took me awhile to beat it, but eventually I did by using a six and then spamming ones so the hero does not attack the six, before finishing the hero off with a Nyan Cat :)

Speedrun by jmk 2012-12-17T21:45:00

Awesome game, one of my favorites I have played so far. I couldn't stop playing until I beat 42.48

Konkey Dong by saampahlavan 2012-12-17T21:12:00

Looks great and is fun. Sometimes the barrels fell down the ladders before I could grab them, but this didn't happen too often.

The Mute King by vids 2012-12-17T20:06:00

I made it to the queen! Fairly short, but unique. The mouse gestures are neat, but there are a few that I did that I am not sure how I did.

Build-a-Bandit by hissssssssss 2012-12-18T00:04:00

Fun game. I rather like games where you just sit back and see what happens. I like the graphics, especially the buildings in the back. Some dueling music might have been nice, but then again it doesn't need music. Great job!

Knight Wrecker by methozoid 2012-12-17T21:04:00

I would have liked for abilities to continue to fire while holding a key down. And like Marco said, an icon for Radiance would be helpful, since I was constantly checking to see if I had it or not. Also, maybe have a screen at the end tell you what wave you got to and your score. Overall though, a neat game with nice graphics and a cool concept. Was fun to play, and I got to wave 18 I think.

Superhero Slaugther by joyboxed 2012-12-17T06:58:00

The concept is great. The game was fun, and I like the artwork, although I am not really a fan of stick figures, but Mr. Rock and his attacks looks nice. Great job :-)

Pilferer's Run by Crynix 2013-01-06T19:19:00

Seems like it would be really cool when finished.

PsychoTherapist by char68 2013-01-07T05:40:00

Took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but once I did it was really hard and I only lasted a few ticks. Cool concept, but maybe lessen the difficulty a little bit.

Lord Evil's Daring Escape by Cryovat 2012-12-18T05:21:00

Fun game and I really like the graphics and tinyness of everything. It is really short, but I still enjoyed it and felt a sense of accomplishment when I won :)

Sealed Evil by Neonlare 2012-12-17T19:52:00

That was a lot of fun. The controls started out difficult, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. After I upgraded to get more people and two souls per kill I quickly got everything else (at the mall), but it took awhile to get to that point. The music is nice and the game is very polished.

TWITTER h8 FSHYY [NSFW] by Ponea 2012-12-18T04:47:00

Wat.

I think I was trying to get fshyy banned but was unable to.

Awesome music.

A Natural Villain by ClownyBastards 2013-01-06T20:36:00

One of the best parts was how the music changed when a virus was infecting a cell, very nice touch. Overall a very fun and good-looking game.

Elfie by Pixelboy_85 2013-01-06T21:39:00

That was very cool! I really liked the animated background and weapon variety, although the candy cane was sure to get me hurt. I wish there would have been a score so that I could keep track of how well I am doing.

Double Tap by Sam Driver 2012-12-18T04:52:00

That was very cool. Loved the talking noises.

Land of the Weebums by vrav 2013-01-06T19:23:00

Good game, and good job on making me feel like a bad person and having fun at the same time.

Dungeon Mastermind by 7Soul 2013-01-06T18:50:00

Wasn't sure how I was doing at first because I kept getting around 5 minutes for all of them. But then I got over 6 and used the final attack and won :) Very cool game, but not much replayability unless you lose.

X-Moon by leafo 2013-01-06T21:00:00

Very hard and very fun! It also looks amazing.

Airship Infiltration by supermaximo93 2012-12-17T20:16:00

I really like the artwork and audio. Wasn't expecting the game to end so abrubtly, but it was still a lot of fun. Also, great intro and ending animations. :)

Banished by Kharza 2013-01-06T20:20:00

That was really cool! I really like the shading and level layout. Having to kill the goats didn't really make much sense to me though.

Rise of Evil by oldtopman 2012-12-22T02:11:00

Cool ascii art and some puns that were pretty atrocious but still funny. Also, I played it from a linux terminal so it was more fun. :)

Trois by haxpor 2012-12-19T06:16:00

One of the funnest and most frustrating games I have played so far. The good kind of frustrating.

We Drive Unto The Fortress by SmallDeadGuy 2013-01-07T04:44:00

Pretty sweet game! Missing a shot pretty much ruins your chances of winning the last level, but I ended up beating. Good work :)

You are the hero by Houly 2012-12-22T01:56:00

Really cool game, but really short. I like the glitches and how the knights start running towards the end.

Brown Hat, Red Hat Cowboy POW! by Pixelbear 2012-12-17T21:34:00

Fun game and nice graphics although the flashing/shaking was a but much and sometimes I had no idea what was going on. :)

Holly Jolly Pyromaniac by UndergroundPixel 2012-12-20T06:32:00

Very simple but also fun. I really like the music and graphics.

The Dog Days Are Done by evilseanbot 2013-01-06T20:05:00

Very interesting and engaging.

Sheepuree by Shubi 2013-01-06T18:59:00

I found the time limit rather annoying, but other than that the game was pretty awesome.

In good heart by pighead10 2012-12-17T20:44:00

For some reason after beating the third level it said I failed. Fun game. I really hate the stupid overlord getting on my case when I try to just do my job (poorly). Cool concept and nicely executed.

Unhappy Holidays! by GeorgeBroussard 2013-01-06T20:52:00

I had a lot of fun playing your game! I really like graphics and variance in zombie types. The first time I played I didn't ration ammo very well, so I ended up not being able to defend myself, but this is my fault and not the game's.

LD26 — Minimalism

A Dark Secret by kivifreak 2013-05-19T03:24:00

The game kept freezing on me (linux x64), but seeing the comments on the game's ending made me want to know what happened in the end. So I went through your source and figured it out :D Interesting endings and I like the epic music. I'm not going to rate because I didn't actually get to finish the game, but I did enjoy the game while it wasn't freezing on me.

Ball & Cup by ohsqueezy 2013-05-16T03:42:00

Very interesting. I think adding sound effects would have helped to make it more immersive, but the lack of them definitely doesn't take away from how addicting it is.

# by Tim Bumpus 2013-05-02T23:52:00

Webplayer version didn't work for me, so I went with Windows instead.

The game was a good length, and the music was fitting. Great use of theme.

Skeletal: A Barebones RPG by Galan 2013-05-19T02:51:00

I like the enemy models. Neat game.

Obstacle Course by CappaGames 2013-05-19T05:37:00

I beat it! It took a bit to get used to the controls, but after I got the hang of it I managed to inch my way through the game. Very fun and very intense.
http://screencloud.net/v/hWUA

People by BenW 2013-04-30T02:45:00

Very relaxing. I was half expecting the game to end with everyone getting paired up with someone else and there being an odd number of people, meaning you have nobody to make pikmin-like noises and disappear with, but it didn't work out that way :)

Only a Keyboard by Lidfrid 2013-05-12T05:55:00

Took me awhile to get 'A', but once I did I realize it wasn't all that hard. Cool game. Short, but unique and visually pleasing.

Colourforms by iandioch 2013-05-15T21:09:00

I rated you highly in humor because I played this with my brother and we laughed a lot, and here's why: when playing the ticktacktoe variants, it always became a stalemate with 3 pieces on the board. Whoever controlled the middle also had an outside square, and the other played would have to spend all his turns blocking him. So the game wasn't very exciting, but for some reason it was hilarious at the time. I thought 4x4 ticktacktoe would be a bit more strategic, especially if only one tile is drawn, and it actually did work out better than regular 3x3. Still not very strategic, but it at least allowed for more moves to be made before the impending stalemate. However, with drawing only one tile at a time, an element of luck was introduced into the game allowing either player to take a chance that the other player wouldn't draw the required tile to stop the player from winning.
I didn't understand the rules for the last game, but I'll give it another read at some point (possibly after rating ends) and see if I can figure it out. This is the first game I've played for the Ludum Dare that wasn't on a computer, so I don't have much to compare it to in regards to rating it, but I can say I had fun the couple times I played this.

Cross by AstroEngiSci 2013-05-03T02:17:00

Aside from the mouse not being hidden, it was very enjoyable. The text placement was kind of awkward, but not that big of a downside. I like green a lot more than blue. Blue didn't care about me; he just left me to platform on my own. Good platforming though, regardless of blue's lack of assistance.

Minimallist by commanderstitch 2013-05-12T05:35:00

It took me awhile to figure out what to do, but that was probably because the first boss got himself stuck in a wall. Because of this I just wandered and collected gold while avoiding the ninja. Once I got the bazooka the game became significantly more fun :D I killed the first boss by shooting him through the wall. Although it lagged at some points (because of the bazooka) I ended up beating the game. Pretty good graphics. The bosses were unique and interesting for the relatively short amount of time that they lived >:D The one thing that annoyed the crap out of me was the sound of getting hurt being played multiple times at once. Overall I really enjoyed it.

Keypad Trainer Turbo by sol_hsa 2013-05-20T23:28:00

Surprisingly fun. Also, surprisingly stressful.

stairs by cardboard 2013-04-29T19:53:00

I'm adding an executable version when I get home today! (if all goes well)

stairs by cardboard 2013-04-30T21:59:00

@404: Ah crap. Dropbox hadn't finished syncing the windows version when I shut off my computer I think. :/

@Crowbeak: I'll make a gameplay video! I'll also try to explain it better in the description.

stairs by cardboard 2013-05-03T20:42:00

@khahem: Thanks for playing! And thanks for posting instructions on getting it to work on OSX. I'll add it to the description so others can see it :)

stairs by cardboard 2013-05-20T02:20:00

@r3d5: No, the only thing that changes is the steps become thinner (and the feet become closer together) as the game reaches its end.

The Death of Disco by Auron2030 2013-05-12T08:02:00

Pretty neat game. I got stuck with a few unbeatable levels though. It wasn't very hard but it got more challenging after a couple of levels, which was nice. Also, I really like your choice of colors.

Poke by Crowbeak 2013-05-12T03:20:00

Nice incorporation of a potato. The game was pleasant and short. Not much replay value. The ending fanfare was funny :)

Quest by Scott McBee 2013-05-02T01:00:00

285. I'll be coming back to this game later :) Pleasant atmosphere and fun game.

Hiddensquares by Tozy 2013-04-30T05:19:00

I got to level 7! I probably won't come back later to try to beat it again because it has already gotten a solid hour of playtime, and I have other games to rate ;) Nice color composition and use of circles. Great job.

Almost Nothing by lytedev 2013-05-13T02:03:00

I couldn't beat it, but I gave it my best shot! Very cool puzzle game. I'm not usually a fan of puzzle games, but I really enjoyed your game. Nice upbeat music and good, polished gameplay.

Approximately pi over two by Cryovat 2013-05-02T23:29:00

Cool mechanic(s) and nice use of only one button. After the timers appeared I was hoping the game would start to get more puzzly, but then I got eaten out of nowhere. This could be really cool if/when you finish it up.

-- by vegard1992 2013-05-02T23:15:00

I beat it! Quite tricky to get the hang of, but really fun once I got the controls down. I got stuck a few times where even reversing time didn't save me, but I don't think that is a fault with the game. There were a few times where I almost died and things got pretty intense for a second. Overall, really cool and interesting game.

Piano Stairs by robmozart 2013-05-02T02:20:00

This is actually quite enjoyable. I really like the graphics, and I feel like this could be pretty unique and cool if you finish it up.

Minimalism Tower Defense by Rubricet 2013-05-03T01:48:00

It's like I am composing music as I destroy enemies :D I normally don't enjoy tower defense games all that much, but yours was minimal enough that I didn't have to worry about which towers to get and where to place them. I like the bullets effects. Great game and great job.

SlapTheFish by hannesdelbeke 2013-05-19T02:57:00

I think the sound effect is what made slapping the fish so satisfying. This game is both creepy and fun.

MiniCrawler by Nezzhil 2013-05-19T02:21:00

I enjoyed it, but it did become a little frustrating after awhile. I found that I couldn't see enough of the screen at once to be able to avoid the spikes unless I moved slowly. For the boulder level, I would let the boulder hit me at the start of the level so that it would pass me and I wouldn't have to dodge spikes with it after me. Also, the collision was a bit confusing. Other than those things, the game was cool. I like the GameBoy graphics and the music was pretty cool too (although a bit short).

Gold Hunt by Audun42 2013-05-19T02:35:00

I'm not sure why I get gold from killing animals, but it's fun :D

Pretty fun (and silly) game. I managed to beat it on my second playthrough with 100 days left. If you walk up to the man but walk away before pressing spacebar, the countdown never starts :P
proof -> http://screencloud.net/v/4tSP

Minimal Blocks! by messiano 2013-05-02T23:41:00

I don't think my keyboard wanted to let me run and jump at the same time, which made things more difficult. Neat game though, I like the concept of jumping "out of the screen." Oh, I also like the player's animations ;)

Lunarium by Alprog 2013-05-19T02:09:00

128980. That was a lot of fun. It was difficult/impossible to keep all enemies at bay, but this makes sure the game doesn't last forever, so it works.

Title: Subtitle by Liz England 2013-05-03T21:26:00

Really good length. I mean, it could have been longer, but it was not too short. The variance in platforming (and color) throughout the game kept it interesting. One of my favorite games so far.

Justice by nintendoeats 2013-05-02T22:56:00

I sort of wanted Fadiyah to stop being such a jerk, but I also knew I would have to reveal the gun at the end, because she obviously killed the officer. Unless of course she didn't and was just disgruntled and angry, in which case I hoped she would stop making it sound like she murdered the officer and just answer truthfully. Very immersive for a game with stick figures and a whole lot of unused screen. The silence in dialogue helped, and I don't think the text was too slow; it seemed just right. Sound would have been nice, I think, if only just ticking of the clock or ambient noise.

Enlightenment by xploitgames 2013-05-03T02:46:00

I was expecting the controls to be more confusing, but they were actually quite comfortable once the game actually started. Fun and enjoyable.

Touch Blocks, Avoid Spikes by ecbambrick 2013-05-19T03:52:00

Stage 8 beat me. Unique gameplay, feels very polished, and great graphics.

The Unseen by Lamprabbit 2013-05-19T05:08:00

I am pretty confident that none of the bodies were mine. I uncovered the whole battlefield other than about 4 tiles. Can you win by touching your body even if the body isn't 'discovered'? Otherwise, great game, and I ended up playing for way too long.

Squeezed Out by HybridMind 2013-05-03T00:59:00

Simple but effective. Great sound effects and visuals.

Simplify Your Life by YYYYr 2013-05-12T05:03:00

I launch the game. I am enjoying the wonderful visual portion of the game. Oh, I can pick things up. I am wondering why throwing things out the window isn't getting boring when I hear knocking at the door. I rush to throw everything out the window in a frantic rage, but don't get everything out the window in time. Giraffe-Mother enters and cuts me off in my tracks. She corners me between the couch and herself, forcing me to restart the game.

Second time, I try to get everything out the window before Giraffe-Mother enters. I fail, because there is not nearly enough time to get everything out before she enters. This time I run around the room without stopping, throwing things out the window as I avoid the scary creature following me (or at least I think it was following me). I notice it has stopped following me so I casually throw the rest of my things out the window. Game over. I win this time.

Floating Point by 7Soul 2013-05-19T05:51:00

Very unique. Took me awhile to win because I couldn't figure out what to do, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

i need to lie down by JigxorAndy 2013-05-03T01:35:00

I'll have to think about this some more. I'm not exactly sure what to make of it at this point..

Sail Away by phaed 2013-05-12T03:34:00

That was enjoyable. Sound would have made it better, but it certainly still feels complete without it. Also, I really like your minimal art style (which is why I clicked on your game to begin with).

Moondar by leafo 2013-05-12T03:58:00

I'm not sure where to start. Everything was outstanding. Very replayable, the visual effects are superb, the song is catchy and builds up very nicely, and the gameplay is solid. My only gripe is that I was immediately killed when level 4 started, because I started on the top row and there was a wall that also started in the top row :D High score: 3379 (lvl4)

Highway 00101 by r3d5 2013-05-20T02:31:00

Really cool game! I got stuck behind the slow cars too often though, so I had to step off the gas sometimes. The ramps were my favorite part :D

Meat Meets Potatoes by Jacic 2013-05-12T07:52:00

The sound effects seemed a bit off, but that doesn't really matter. I'm always a fan of endless runner games and I like how you added bullets (which turned out to be forks) to mix it up a bit. Nice graphical progression and good ending.

SeedLife by shawn42 2013-05-12T23:00:00

The music and minimalism make this a very relaxing game. I would have liked to have been able to place a "wood" seed so that I could have made a bridge across the moat outside my castle, but nonetheless, it was a joy to play and mess around with. It felt very polished.

Tana by oldtopman 2013-05-19T05:20:00

Interesting! I'm not sure I understood what was going on, but it was interesting nonetheless. Your ASCII art is good and the gameplay was interesting, although lacking. I always look forward to seeing your entries.

Puzzlecave Episode 1 - Raiders Of The Lost Potato by gizmo 2013-05-20T23:48:00

I really like the blurred graphics. It makes me feel like I'm playing on an old CRT monitor or TV. My only complainst are the game felt too short and the puzzles never became difficult enough. I'm about to give the Post-Comp version a try though, so I'm pretty sure you've addressed these things.

Exploding Cubes of Cleanliness by negativeview 2013-05-02T01:31:00

Really cool, but I got stuck after ~10 levels. I would devote more time to beating more levels, but I have other games to rate ;) If you make an Android version I will definitely play it some more.

MBlok by tSwitch 2013-05-03T21:40:00

Very cool. I kept trying to get the least amount of presses, although I often couldn't. Feels very polished.

I Dream In Color by evilseanbot 2013-05-20T02:18:00

I enjoyed it. Neat graphics and interesting concept, although the story is a tad bizarre.

O.R.M. Ontological Ressource Management by Logun 2013-05-02T00:01:00

194! I like the melody that the clickers make. Towards the end it got a little tiring clicking all the clickers, but I still enjoyed the game :)

flee the inevitable by sythe 2013-05-12T05:41:00

I played a few times and got up to 362. I don't think the music fit the game very well, and it was very quiet (at least for me). I really like games like this, so I enjoyed playing your game. The animations looked a bit wacky, but this made the game somewhat funny.

Stickman vs the leap of faith by brus46 2013-05-12T04:41:00

I beat it! Level 3 (or was it 4?) gave me some trouble, but I pulled through in the end. Very unique idea. The yelling got a tad annoying, but it didn't ruin the game or anything. The one thing other thing that bothered me was the random black pixels at the top of the stickman's image when he is falling. Other than that I enjoyed your game :)

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Puzzle Dash! by Fireblend 2013-09-04T00:42:00

I played this on my phone and it's fun. I'll probably play it some more in the future when a time comes where I have to wait for something. My highest score was a little over 900. The autotracker music is nice. The graphics are very nice and look good whilst not distracting from the gameplay. The powerups make it possible to stray far from the original "spawn", which is very thoughtful.

Nelson by MunkeeBacon 2013-08-28T06:37:00

The graphics are pretty awesome. All of the different time periods/locations were varied which kept the game interesting for awhile. The only thing I would have liked to see was some sort of change to the character/weapon/bullet as I leveled up. Otherwise everything is sort of the same the whole game. The music fit the game very well and was fun to listen to. Looking forward to the post-comp version!

War Horse Of Impeccible Desert Taste And Cannons by commanderstitch 2013-09-03T22:14:00

I really enjoyed your game. The few things that I didn't like so much are that the squashing was very wonky (sometimes it would flatten the enemies and sometimes it wouldn't) and the background colors (the enemies shots were hard to see on some of the levels. The game stopped working for me after I re-entered the main stage from the blue stage. I think it put me outside the game's boundaries, because I had full hearts, but I couldn't see myself or shoot. The graphics are pretty good, and the smiling enemies are funny. The varied sound effects for each blast are a nice touch. Great work. :)

10 Second Tai by Teejay5 2013-08-27T06:04:00

Hahahahaha, that was awesome. Your game is unique and interesting. The mechanics vary from level to level which is nice. I love the game's graphical style and all of the game's humor, I just wish there was more to play :D

Worst Gnome at the Factory by Crowbeak 2013-08-27T04:55:00

I love your sound effects. The little dude is pretty funny. I like the gameplay, but it seems like it is impossible to last super long, since once I use of the Fix-It-All there's not really any way to lower my Frims, Pazzles, or Gonks. The gameplay was still fun though, and I enjoyed my time with your game :)

10 Seconds to Save the World by HacksawUnit 2013-08-27T05:20:00

I felt like I was speedrunning a game! My only gripes are the tinyness (which I am not docking score for) and the brevity of the game. A few more levels would have been very nice. :) I like the graphics and the gameplay was very solid. The increasing tempo of the music contributed greatly to the mood. Nice work!

Usain Bolt Simulator 2013 by danielcmessias 2013-08-27T05:46:00

I love it! It was just hard enough to keep me playing until I finally beat it. The graphics fit the game wonderfully. Also, the variety in the games is fantastic. Great work.

You're a fly by Esenti 2013-08-29T01:40:00

I like how minimal this is while still being fun to play multiple times. The best I could do with a handful of plays was 15 generations in 31.714 seconds.. until I edited the source to make the enemy flies super slow. Nice job with this.

Meowfinity and Beyond by Cryovat 2013-08-27T04:46:00

I really like the graphics. I think holding down Z to repeatedly jump would have made the large groups of stairs less annoying. Other than that, and the lack of sound effects and music, the game feels pretty solid. The game is puzzling enough to be challenging without being annoying. Great job!

Get Out! by LordHellMaX 2013-08-29T04:21:00

I really like the atmosphere you made with this game. The ghost was a lot scarier when my flashlight ran out than when I saw him in the doorways. The music fits the game very well. It was a bit short, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. :)

Lawrence Dare Starring In- 10 Second Psychic by Beardbotnik 2013-08-27T05:31:00

I couldn't figure it out how to guess correctly, so I just picked everybody until I got it. The graphics and animations are excellent and the voices are interesting and good. I also think the overall feel of the game was very nice.

Keg Quest by Crazi456 2013-08-28T05:52:00

I really enjoyed this game! Figuring out which key corresponds to which dwarf took some time (as in, my hand didn't do what my brain wanted it to at first), but after I got the hang of it it was fantastic. The colors don't blend together very well, but the dwarf pixel art is nice. The main mechanic is neat. The theme is incorporated in a fairly unique way. Having no pauses in the middle of a level made it intense because I would have very little time to think through each move. I would try to think through the level before I started, which helped a lot. The game is difficult enough to provide a challenge without getting me annoyed at the game. Great job!

Run You Fool, You're Gonna Miss Your Train! by tiagosr 2013-09-04T00:54:00

The graphics and player animations are wonderful. The train sound effect is interesting. I wish there were more levels to play, as it was quite entertaining to play and watch.

MegaPunch by Nick Weihs 2013-08-28T07:01:00

Cardboard: 10
BigBoss: 9

I think that says it all.

But if it doesn't: The graphics are amazing and everything fits together; nothing looks out of place. The animations look exceptional. The music seems a bit odd for a game of this intense, action-packed pace, but it sounds awesome and still fits well with the game. The "hidden" area up top is nice, and I wish the area down below was left in the game. :) Breaking rocks that I throw into the air with an uppercut is great fun, throwing bombs into people's faces is fun, uppercutting rocks through the floor is fun, punching people through walls is great fun, evading multiple times and then landing a punch is fun, getting killed by the blocks when the level changes is fun, etc. I really hope you make a post-comp version with player names (or at least more colors, and only let one person pick each color) and maybe a bigger level or more levels. Thanks for making the game!

Love Your Pets by DaanVanYperen 2013-09-04T01:06:00

I love the graphics. Audio would have helped the atmosphere of the game immensely. The world spinning around the player and the game mechanics are neat. Pretty short, but fun nevertheless!

Diesel May Care: Quest For The Ten-Second Car by nintendoeats 2013-08-26T05:36:00

Bahahahaha! The graphics were bad in a traditional sense, although the style adds to the wonderful humor in the game (which I will get to later). Some of the text overlays (specifically the winning/losing screens) were overlayed on top of other text, making them difficult to read. I lost the game at first (because I was unsure calling Vin would mean my car gets tested once and for all) and having to watch the intro a second time wasn't as enjoyable. It wasn't annoying, as it was still plenty funny, but just something to consider. It didn't feel to me as though the spacebar didn't do anything. it took me awhile to figure out that I needed to assign the parts after I ripped them. I got a little confused as to why I wasn't getting the parts I ripped. (I wasn't paying attention to the main screen, just rushing to rip parts off of cars!) The interface seemed confusing at first, but it isn't too complicated and made sense after very little time (probably about ten seconds actually). I found the intro very funny. The sound effects were all spectacular. *cricks neck* Failing miserably and listening to a car speed up for over 40 seconds is oddly amusing. The texts telling me what the car owner's were doing were funny, and varied enough to not get too repetitive. Ripping parts off of owners' cars when they were returning could get suspenseful. When I beat the game (with a time of 5.91 seconds) I felt as though I accomplished something. Very nice game.

Richard Was Afraid Of The Dark by Atmospherium 2013-09-16T07:23:00

I really like the game's atmosphere. The controls felt a bit laggy at times, but not too laggy to where I couldn't finish the game. The story was very cute, and how the text was displayed was unique. The music fits the mood well, and the jumping sound effect fits the music well. Great work! :)

Run with the Revolution by local minimum 2013-09-16T22:35:00

The concept is cool. It was tough to play on a laptop, but I still enjoyed it. The game is pleasant and the music is nice.

10 Seconds to Lava by Folis 2013-08-27T05:04:00

The mouse wasn't locked to the center of the screen (at least for me), and the sensitivity was crazy. I guess that could be on my end though since my default sensitivity is somewhat high. Very nice spin on the whole "floor is lava" thing. I enjoyed it, but would have enjoyed it more with sound and/or music :)

Micro Management Simulator 2013 by daOyster 2013-08-26T21:50:00

The clicking madness started to hurt after awhile, but I'm sure managing in real life hurts a lot more, which means this was a good simulator. The clicking gets painful after awhile, but the game was solid enough to get me to play it a bunch and try to better my score. The mood was pretty good, and I felt like a jerk for constantly working my workers, which was nice. I like the graphics as well: simple, but not too simple. The buildings in the back could use a bit more detail to fit in with the rest of the graphics, possibly. Also, nice use of the previous Ludum Dare's secret theme on the building on the left.

HS: 145.9 seconds, 678 points

The Last Memory by Lokarunith 2013-08-28T18:54:00

This game's mood is very nice; the kids jumping around in the puddles with you is a nice touch. The game is pretty laggy on my laptop, but I'll try again on my desktop and see if I can beat the game. The music is nice, but maybe a touch too repetitive. Nice work with this; I enjoyed it.

SpaceSwitch by truiton 2013-08-28T06:23:00

I think the mechanics of this are very interesting. The pixel art is nice. The audio is good, and the death sound effect is great. And I heard it a lot because I died a whole lot, but eventually I beat the game. :)

10sion by KeinBaum 2013-08-28T06:06:00

Very nice! I enjoyed the game. The game mechanics are very interesting. The graphics are pretty good (nice detailed background, cool particle effects). I will probably come back to this later when I have some more time and try to beat it. :)

Lepton Epoch by Jacob123 2013-08-29T02:40:00

I think the sound was a bit too loud and in your face, and it could have been a bit longer. The levels were pretty good; they got a bit more difficult as the game went on, but I would have liked to see it get a bit harder. The theme interpretation you had was really neat. I think the jumping was a bit too.. linear, if that makes any sense. I enjoyed your game and look forward to your future entries!

YorkTime by Steve | tacospice 2013-08-27T04:29:00

I think you utilized the theme very well. The darkness and music (and creepy face) set the mood very nicely. I got stuck at the creepy face actually but might end up trying to beat it later. From a gameplay perspective, the mechanics were neat and unique. It took me a bit to figure everything out, but after I got it, it was very enjoyable.

00000010 by Vile Smile 2013-09-16T07:54:00

I really enjoyed your game! I didn't find the walljumping to be annoying at all (for the comp version). The graphics and glitch effects are cool, and I especially like the player's constant smile. The cutscenes are nice, and are a great reward for beating the game. The music and sound effects are nice. I like how you interpreted the theme! Having to wait ten seconds for the platforms to change would have been painful. The game feels polished, and there isn't really anything I can think of that I feel would have made the game better, apart from maybe more levels. :)

Save the Stars! by anmorales 2013-08-29T01:14:00

Nice little game. I started to get really good and then the game crashed on me and reset my phone, haha. I'll play again later to see how well I can do. :)

Lava Race by Boodog 2013-08-28T06:16:00

Thanks for sharing this with me! First of all, the music is amazing. Yeah the collision is a bit wonky, but I think it added to the fun and challenge of the game. I had to figure out how the collision works and how to use it to my advantage in order to beat it. The game is a bit short, but it's the Ludum Dare, so that is usual. What is with the hearts though? The lava kills you in one hit, haha. The pixel graphics are charming, but I don't think the lava fits in very well with the other artwork. Overall, nice job!

10 Seconds of life by Hexicube 2013-08-27T05:13:00

I got about 40 seconds! I like the concept and the game is fun. Sound of some kind would have been nice to help establish a mood. I think it is a bit too difficult to stay alive for long, but it's still an enjoyable game. :)

Popping Bubbles by Fififox 2013-08-27T02:48:00

Pretty nice, given how long it took you to make it. This would be better on a multitouch-capable device, but it was still enjoyable with a mouse. The graphics are sleek and the sound effects are perfect. My best score was 176 seconds and 42 points.

Pizza Time by DrSuperSocks 2013-08-28T06:46:00

I like the world you've created so far. I can see myself enjoying this game when you finish it, not that I didn't enjoy the little exploration I got to do already. Movement forward and backward is a little awkward when trying to jump from platform to platform, since pressing forward for a second takes a full step rather than just inching the character forward. I hope you keep working on this!

MY ASS by DrunkenOrc 2013-08-26T03:17:00

Butt Victory! I think this is a great game. The controls felt a bit slippery since the player is moved along as the level scrolls, but must move against the level's pushing sometimes. I think the music fit perfectly, the poops in the background filled the space surrounding the player nicely, and the player taking a poo is hilarious. Great work!

Thorvald by FunByJohn 2013-08-27T03:44:00

Beautiful! The graphics are very good and unique, the music fits the game and mood very well, and the game mechanic is still interesting by the time the game ends. The game is very polished and very enjoyable. :)

Ultimate Fighting Game vs. Monocule 1: Dare Edition!!!!!!11!!!!1111one!eOne!~ by oldtopman 2013-08-27T04:04:00

Haha. Your games are always a breath of fresh ASCII-art air. :) The keyboard layout was a bit awkward, and I think having the keys laid out horizontally would have been easier to play with. Chuck Norris is pretty much impossible to beat, but I managed get 400 against the second dude.

LD28 — You Only Get One

Our Man, Dragon by scoopsy 2013-12-21T00:06:00

There is no hope for the villagers at the current ork spawn rate. :p I played the updated version and you seem to be on the right track. I think the dragon should turn, and possibly move, a bit faster. The graphics are nice and simple.

Glitcher //nuts = 1 by 01rafael 2013-12-23T09:39:00

ahahaha.. The controls are weird for a desktop, but not too difficult to get used to. The game as a whole is pretty funny and was pretty fun.

One Shot by zzzev 2013-12-22T01:22:00

This was a lot of fun on a touchscreen! I died before I got a chance to use my explosion, so I only got 262. The game mechanics feel solid and the rolling animations are nice.

You Only Get One Pig by Noah Ratcliff 2013-12-20T05:15:00

The graphics and music are pleasant, the humor is nice, and the button mashing is as frustrating and impossible as it should be. The minigames are all pretty varied, which is nice.

GeoEatRical by mamoniem 2013-12-20T02:18:00

Geoeatrical's model and overall look is very nice. The gameplay is solid. I think the text on the left could be better; perhaps having colored shapes populate the left side of the screen would make checking to see if I'd eaten something easier.

lambda by Esenti 2013-12-20T04:54:00

All of the sound effects seem to be make a song as I shoot, get hurt, and am shot at; it is pretty awesome. It might just be me, but the enemies move too quickly and are able to injure me once or twice before I can kill them, so I never got past level 2. Other than this, I enjoyed the game; great work!

Bad Dog! by Beardbotnik 2013-12-23T09:17:00

The animation is superb. I love the dogs expression and walk cycle especially. I'd definitely enjoy playing a longer game with art this cool.

Walkways of Mind by Pixelfan Games 2013-12-20T23:29:00

The collision detection is a bit wonky, but the atmosphere is wonderful, and the graphics and music are great. :)

Penguins Gone Mad by _zulli 2013-12-22T08:33:00

This is great! :) The penguin variety is wonderful. The flying penguins are a pain to kill, especially the ones in the plane that shoot back at you. Some lighthearted music would make this better I bet. Also, it'd be a good idea to show the player's score and what round they got to when after they lose. I think I had around 2500 points and got to round 19 or so. Nice work on this game; the graphics are nice and the gameplay is solid and fun.

And thanks for the 800x600 version :D

Bugz by Grafter 2014-01-05T08:21:00

I'll state that it needs more variety even though I saw your comment about having more stuff planned. :p The graphics are nice but I think at least the bugs should be animated, the sound is good, and the voice acting was funny.

Our Story by CarlsonAndPeeters 2014-01-05T08:53:00

Great length and tells a nice story. I was able to reproduce the bug a few times by getting the top torch then the bottom torch in the first room and then getting the second room's torches in a 'Z' shape (top-left, top-right, middle, bottom-left, bottom-right). Hopefully this helps. Nice job on the game! :)

ONE WEAPON - TO SAVE THE WORLD by CornflowerBlue 2014-01-05T07:38:00

Your game is a lot of fun. I gave each weapon a proper play and got the farthest with the wand (to the flying skull). I was doing extremely well with the bombs but then fell off the level before I could dominate floaty fire skull guy. The music might be just a tad too repetitive. The graphics are a joy to stare at and the difficulty is about right.

one.job:survive by joekinley 2013-12-20T02:37:00

I think the upgrades took a bit too long to save up for, but it wasn't too bad. The particle effects and sound effects are nice.

Casual Friday by TheWhiteLlama 2013-12-20T05:04:00

The game looks nice and I like the visual style. The mechanics are pretty good, but seems as though timing when to attack and block is just luck, but I could just be bad.

One Among Many by phaed 2014-01-05T08:12:00

The last level was pretty tricky, but I finally figured it out. Great minimalist game.

You only get 1-1 by headchant 2014-01-05T08:36:00

7:40, 19 deaths, 4 rubies, 331 coins, and 3 keys :D Great game, although I too almost stopped at the flag before realizing I had to drop down the hole to keep playing. The gameplay is solid and the atmosphere is sufficiently somber.

One Button Racer by badlydrawnrod 2014-01-05T07:49:00

The perfect blend of racing, relaxing music, and the 'A' key. Very well done.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Digging up Daisy by Cake&Code 2014-05-11T06:16:00

Very beautiful game. The music had begun to become a tad annoying after a few minutes, but thankfully I had beaten the game about that time. The variety in skeletons is a nice touch, as I looked forward to seeing what each successive skeleton would look like. However, there weren't many levels so I didn't get to see as many skeletons as I'd have liked to! The particle effects and drill shaking are nice. It seems to be a bit too based on luck (or I just suck), but I like the mechanics and gameplay. Also, nice color palette!

Ground control to major Tomashevsky by drnick 2014-05-02T19:23:00

The audio was nice, but I think there could have been at least some sort of ambient noise during the gameplay. The gameplay felt solid enough, and the checkpoints were placed well. The initial landing of the spacecraft caught me off guard as I was expecting it to be part of the cinematic, so it was rather comical when it crashed and I died. The toggling of the light might have been unecessary since there was really no reason to turn it off after plunging into the darkness. I like the overall feel of the game; it feels like I'm playing a retro/sci-fi movie, which I'm a fan of.

Lost Villages by GAFBlizzard 2014-05-14T07:14:00

Neat-o. The game mechanic is nice, but could use a bit of polishing. I found that objects very close were hard to find since the found objects still trigger the beeps. Once I figured out how the game worked it was fun. The background art could be better, but I like all the sprites. Nice work.

Hiya Haystack by commanderstitch 2014-05-04T20:30:00

What a weird and awesome game, once again. After I beat the game I was unable to move and the farmers killed me, and then when I clicked try again I was playing as the farmer I saved. Unfortunately I couldn't attack or move after leaving the first room so I was killed quickly. I like how the attack changes depending on how much hay you have left. I like the game's graphics, and the fact I get to play as hay is pretty dang unique (and cool).

Squddingly Splendid Diving Simulator by Cryovat 2014-05-11T06:46:00

The game looks great. I think some ambient music of some sort would have been nice, but the puns in the description are amazingly fishy, and the game was fun (while it lasted).

Submarine of Death by tsjost 2014-05-11T06:35:00

The art is amazing. Even if it wasn't drawn by your nephew it would still be amazing. My only gripe is having not being able to shoot left/up/down and thus having to loop around the squids often.

How did Mario died ? by leo_gri 2014-05-14T07:23:00

Haha, funny game! The graphics are delightful, and the odd grammar adds to the humor in my opinion. Nice story and ending as well.

Leak by ashdnazg 2014-05-11T07:34:00

Very hectic! It took me a bit to get used to commanding my little dudes in order to make the text appear on my screen. I sank the enemy ship, but never encountered any whale, unless I did but didn't notice my encounter. I too would love some sort way to distinguish what each room does. You have made an interesting game that could be interesting with more polish. The voice work was top notch.

Elder Sub by IndieKylo 2014-05-08T06:58:00

A wonderful game that could be made more wonderful if expanded. The music was good, the graphics were unique and nice to look at, and the gameplay was fun until around 24k when I couldn't handle the monotony any more. The sailor text is nice, but sometimes got in the way of the action! Can't wait to $end you money for an updated ver$ion!

QP : Fix the leak! by ElStevo 2014-05-04T20:10:00

I like the swinging mechanic, and after I figured out how to control it effectively, I could speed my way down to the bottom. The mini-game at the end seemed pretty random. The music fits well with the feel of the game.

The Sadness of Rocky Barbato by PaperBlurt 2014-05-11T08:05:00

Interesting. The artwork and overall style was very nice. I'm not used to playing games in silence, but it worked for well for this game.

Flooded Mines by Zerkruemler 2014-05-11T08:29:00

Moving was a bit wonky at times, but not enough to distract me from the gameplay. The colors and graphics are nice, and the gameplay feels pretty retro (which is a good thing).

Mine Explorer by Joe Williamson 2014-05-04T20:58:00

The pixel art is ace! The jumping feels nice and the mechanics are nice. Looking forward to updates on this in the future, so I can play again and get some gold.

The Fields by ryangatts 2014-05-08T05:24:00

Oh wow, this game is so beautiful; it's also extremely intense. Before I learned to longjump, I was playing with fire: bunny explosions were a thing that happened at random. I'm glad I didn't know how to longjump at the start though, and I know I should've read the description before playing, but if I hadn't then I would not have witnessed the beauty that is an exploding 3D bunny. The music fit the atmosphere well, the gameplay was fun the whole game, and the graphics were super cute (both in-game and the intro/ending art); nice work!

Eat Champ by mrjohnson22 2014-05-12T03:37:00

Awesome game! I was able to eat 9 hotdog things, but could only achieve such an astounding feat once. I feel like I should hold some record for this achievement. Audio would have helped. I had to play music while I played. Overall, very nice job with this; it is silly, crazy, and I played it far too many times.

Sail by DrPrettyPatty 2014-05-12T04:40:00

This game did a great job at making me want to pop the 'ol Wind Waker back into the GameCube and start sailing the seas again. The last treasure was a pain in the arse to get, but other than that the gameplay was solid and fun. The graphics are ace, and the audio even sounds a bit like something out of a Zelda game, which is nice.

Dr. Pepsi Marriage Consultant by Thingo Studios 2014-05-04T20:47:00

Very unique. The music reminds me of something I might hear from a Gameboy game, which is awesome. The graphics during the gameplay weren't good, but the hand-drawn graphics were ace.

StrataGEM by ActionRemix 2014-05-11T05:59:00

I actually thought the mechanics were quite intuitive. It took me a bit to figure out the best way to manipulate different patterns. There's not much of an incentive to form rings around hexagons. The music stayed pleasant the entire time. Very unique and fun game; awesome job with this.

Bloodbath by Lacaranian 2014-05-11T07:52:00

I like the background art. It took me a bit to figure out how the powers worked, but once I did it was fun. There should be some incentive to keep the player playing. I like how I can play as three different cells.

Greys by ccglp 2014-05-12T03:15:00

Playing this felt surreal. I wasn't quite sure what I was doing, but I think that, along with the music, contributed quite well to the atmosphere of the game. Nice work on this.

Fist of Truth by djdduty 2014-05-04T19:54:00

The music was pretty lame, but in a good way. I like the graphics (especially the bunnies), but things overlapped sometimes, and once I had to fight an invisible Obama. I played through a few times until I figured out how to beat Obama.

Sand Runner Arena by Sparrow 2014-05-06T01:27:00

Haha, it's the movie Tremors in video game form. The gameplay was fun the entire time, and it was definitely suspenseful whenever the sandworms got close to eating me. Also, the game made me feel like I was Kevin Bacon the whole time, which is something more games should strive for.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

The Lion's Song by LeafThief 2014-09-13T20:01:00

Your game has a beautiful atmosphere, music, and story. The splitscreen effect worked out well. I initially thought background music during the whole game would be be an improvement, but I think after hearing the song at the end, after so much silence, it sounded even better. You developed both characters very well, through both text and the visuals. Very nicely done.

A Tale of Two Megacities by GAFBlizzard 2014-08-25T04:55:00

The character sprite is super blocky compared to the other artwork, so he sticks out too much, but this could be symbolic of his being a simple man who just wants to live in the country in a complicated society. The music was very nice, albeit a bit short, although it didn't get annoying during my 8 or so minute playthrough. There weren't enough scenarios during the second part of the game, but you mentioned this in the description. The pixel art for the first part is solid and blends well together, and the UI is clear. Nice job. :)

Chalinkamachoo by commanderstitch 2014-09-12T04:42:00

Once again, the graphics and style of your game is super unique and smile-inducing. The voices remind me of Mumbo Jumbo from Banjo Kazooie, which is great. It took me a few tries, but I ended up defeating the boss, which felt rewarding. The level of challenge is good. The boss is super huge, which is both good and bad. It's bad because then it's hard to see him without getting mauled, but it's good because he's huge and menacing. Great job with this one :D

Onomo by plash 2014-09-13T19:22:00

I basically have the same things to say as everyone else:
- super duper graphics and atmosphere
- I wish there was more

Multifaceted by Riley Adams 2014-08-25T07:53:00

Being able to peek through the triangles to see what's coming up in the other worlds is a nice touch. The colors are very nice, and the game is, in fact, mindless arcadey fun.

disconnected_worlds by cardboard 2014-08-25T15:55:00

@AndyBrown yeah that's the end :) I probably should have made it more explicit.

SpaceWorlds by dtruby 2014-09-13T19:34:00

The pixel art and audio are nice, and give the game a good atmosphere. As already mentioned, there needs to be both an incentive to leave the comfort of the green worlds and an incentive to continue playing the game after the initial "newness" of everything wears off. I found the rotation to be a bit wonky, but I got used to it after a while. I managed to get 100 before I stopped playing.

Last Call For Magrathea by nintendoeats 2014-09-13T18:45:00

During one playthrough I got an insane amount of coffee and a handful of toothbrushes for my colony needs. After I fulfilled these needs, no other needs appeared, and the population then increased constantly (by doubling), going to the max positive integer before looping back through the negatives, etc. I like the voiceover and the background music is very nice. I love how your games always have an intro and an interesting backstory. The game mechanics are unique, and take a bit of time to get used to, and I enjoyed this game and its atmosphere.

Marbles by Lokarunith 2014-09-13T19:07:00

You have crafted a very unique game. The story/stories were interesting and the art style is superb.

DON'T. BREAK. MIRRORS. by IamAcoconut 2014-09-15T16:55:00

The intro is cool, but should be skippable, so that I don't have to watch it before each play. I like the story!

Sunny Days by Jacob123 2014-08-31T04:47:00

Cool game mechanic and effects. Sometimes it was hard to tell which flowers I had just teleported from after teleporting (so I sometimes went in the wrong flower multiple times), but it was still puzzly enough to be interesting. The colors you used are nice; I think a lighter blue for the sky would make the contrast between the foreground and background more easy on the eyes. I enjoyed the game, but music would have let me enjoy it more.

Beyond the Rift by Chaoseiro 2014-09-13T20:17:00

The game mechanics are interesting. The game is unique and I enjoyed it, though there are a few things that could make it a bit better. I wish there was some music and sound effects, or only sound effects at the very least. The graphics and animations are nice. When hurt by an enemy, I think that the player should either be knocked back or become invincible for a short amount of time; I often was hit on both sides (or against a wall) and then died because I couldn't move at all to escape. Nice work.

Twist And Weave by ZeppelinCaptain 2014-09-15T16:43:00

The mechanics are very interesting. I was one planet away from beating the last level after numerous tries, but the first loop was too hard and eventually deterred me from trying any more. The level of difficulty scales nicely from level to level, and beating a level is very rewarding.

Exploding Space Snails by Slothmachine 2014-08-30T18:29:00

The soundtrack and bobbing snail head are awesome. I think some sort of goal would make this game more replayable, like telling the player how far they traveled. The leaf pickups look a bit out of place because their graphical style is different than the style of the rest of the game. The color palette of the world is very nice.

Galactic Bonding by alvarop 2014-08-25T07:32:00

I really like the art and animation style. It starts to get challenging after a bit, which is good, but I figured out I could just mash the keys and score about 100. Some sort of penalty could remedy this, but overall nice work for having started over so many times. :)

Inverted | Endless Runner by oranebeast 2014-08-25T07:01:00

The pixel art is very nice, and everything blends together fairly cohesively. The music is nice and fits the game well. If there were no bugs, I can see myself enjoying this game (even more). The random deaths were quite funny to me, but basically eliminate the competitiveness since it is more "player versus game" than "player versus player". My high score is currently.

Inverted | Endless Runner by oranebeast 2014-08-25T07:29:00

34. My high score is currently 34.

Awe by Oddly Shaped Pixels 2014-08-30T18:59:00

This game's atmosphere is grand; the sound effects and ambient music fit very well.

4in1 by Anti 2014-09-15T16:05:00

I managed to get 2175 after a few tries. The rhythm game feels a bit odd since it isn't matched to the music that is playing. The music is rather crazy, but it goes well with the games and is interesting. I like how you only get one try per minigame, per game; it makes the game more about playing all of the games well to get a high score rather than simply trying to get a good score for each level on its own. Nice job!

Disconnected Worlds by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2014-08-26T00:39:00

GOD DAMMIT! The graphics and style are nice, and I enjoyed the story/stories.

HopSlide by managore 2014-09-13T05:22:00

The graphic design of both games is rather stellar; I really like the colors you used for the game (I only played the colorblind-unfriendly version). The interconnectedness of both games was very unique and was utilized well in the puzzles (except for perhaps the yellow room, which was both relatively unsolvable [for me] without the hint and awesome as a game mechanic). The music and sound effects were cohesive and fit the game's atmosphere. I enjoyed your game, and found it to be challenging and rewarding.

ultra VR by remmy 2014-08-25T06:32:00

The VR mechanic utilizing all of the objects in the room is fantastic. Switching between the two worlds did get a bit annoying (maybe make the animation shorter), but I did finish the game, which was much fun. The art and animations look good.

Constellation by Aglavra 2014-09-15T04:09:00

The controls are wonky; I don't think the player's horizontal momentum should be reset upon landing after a jump or fall, and the horizontal acceleration was too slow for my liking. It was still easy to adapt to the controls, and I managed to beat the game cleanly. Some of the colors you chose for the foreground/background have too little contrast, making the platforms too hard to see. The premise of this game is rather interesting, and I like the sprites. The level design is good, and I enjoyed the game.

Holiday Nightmare by KingBolonzo 2014-09-13T20:09:00

the download links have died a mysterious death

Holiday Nightmare by KingBolonzo 2014-09-15T01:29:00

I think WASD or ESDF would as the movement controls would make the hand placement of the player less awkward. The art is quirky (in a good way) and all of the special effects (fireworks, snow, etc) are nice touches. The Winter world enemies seemed too overpowered to me, compared to all the other enemies; they fired quick projectiles rather rapidly and seemed to spawn quicker. A counter for how many carrots have been obtained would have made the player's progress more visible and tangible. The variety present in the different enemies and worlds is very nice. Oh, and the snowballs representing the player's health is a nice touch. :)

Reminisce by nikki93 2014-08-25T06:09:00

The level design could have been better, as there was one part where luring the creature into a certain position took a long time. Also, some music would have been nice to add to the atmosphere. Other than that, the art is very nice and the puzzles are challenging and fun.

SHIT RUNNER by Cad 2014-08-25T07:46:00

I made it with 37 seconds to spare! The audio does a great job of helping to set the mood.

TAGGLE by korigame 2014-08-25T23:52:00

The tree movement is great. Occasionally the bits would spawn right next to me after I collected a bit, which seems kind of unfair (or just lucky?), so maybe making them always spawn farther away would make things fairer. I had a lot of fun with this.

Planestroller by ShaunJS 2014-08-25T05:39:00

The difficulty increased very effectively. The easy levels weren't too easy, and the later levels were challenging enough. The art is good, and the music fits the game and mood very well.

Color Runner by vinhuman 2014-08-26T01:09:00

The jumping is a bit wonky, making the levels harder than they should be, but the game is still fun.

Fourth dimension by Slowian 2014-08-30T18:39:00

What a struggle! The button at the start that says "Start Struggle" isn't a figure of speech. I managed to touch my husband with 17.15784 seconds left. I was expecting something deeper, but I am satisfied with myself after having clicked a nearly blank screen a bajillion times.

Not Connected Worlds by totoIsMyUsername 2014-08-30T19:09:00

I got so many subscriptions, likes, tweets, follows, and shares, but I only ever had one friend. :( This game is an accurate representation of the relationship between one's virtual and real lives (or are they the same thing?).

Galacticonga by nkornek 2014-08-30T18:23:00

I think one reason I found this game so hard is because the audio is a bit out of sync. The game is very unique, and the graphics are pretty, though the drum doesn't match the style of the other art. The animations and 'characters' further down the line are cool. :)

Mega Golf by Jedi 2014-09-12T04:02:00

This game has a nice peaceful aesthetic. I wish Mr. Gravity would be a bit quicker to pull the ball down and hold it still for me, but I still rather enjoyed the few rounds of pro mega golf that I played. The cows are nice, the music fits the game, and I would enjoy an expansion of this if you get around to making one.

Transcendence of the Human Spirit by duncankeller 2014-08-26T00:54:00

The sound effects are awesome. The graphics are nice, and the cutscene at the end is fantastic (and funny). Having more objects would be great, but I was content with the available objects.

WORLDS 2D by fleegle2000 2014-09-13T18:24:00

Short and sweet. The game mechanic is nice, and the game starts to get exciting, and then it ends abruptly. The endgame screen and effects are nice, and I enjoyed this game while it lasted. I'm glad you're working on a post-comp version.

Breach of Dimensions by ursagames 2014-08-30T19:51:00

I beat the boss! :) I stood out of range until all his fire lines were in a row, and then rolled twice to get behind him, hit him, then rolled back around the other side. The hit detection of my sword on the boss was a bit off, but I managed to best him after many rounds of the roll-around-the-boss game. The game suffers from lack of audio, but it was still enjoyable for me. The rolling mechanic is a lot of fun, and I often found myself jump-rolling to get everywhere, since it is more exciting than walking. The models and world you created are nice, and the game was fun.

FACED by Sheepolution 2014-08-25T23:32:00

The controls and gameplay are very easy to figure out. The music made things unnecessarily tense. The game is fun.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

The Mosquito Effect (mosquito simulator) by 01rafael 2014-12-21T01:17:00

Even though the camera was rather wonky, I enjoyed exploring the map and pestering the humans. The music is nice as well.

Tower Falling by dalbinblue 2014-12-16T04:33:00

Great idea! The game is challenging enough that I died quite a bit, but not so much so as to keep me from beating the game. The mechanics and puzzles are very nice. The variation kept the game interesting the whole way through.

Lycklig's Stone Toss by cardboard 2014-12-15T04:16:00

@lase: It should be possible. I guess it depends on the computer playing the game, which is rather unfortunate. I guess my poor coding skills are to blame for that. :/

Musing About by CtrlAltTea 2014-12-20T05:52:00

It took me a few tries, but I finally won, if you can call what I did to the poor artist winning. Great job with this; the graphics and gameplay are very nice.

A Chainsaw Across my Heart by MonoS 2014-12-13T01:02:00

The story is good, but there were quite a few typos which decreased the immersiveness for me. All the choices seemed like viable options for the story which is nice.

LArse by crazyrems 2014-12-20T05:17:00

The graphics and audio are splendid; the characters are interesting and unique (and have plenty of character), the sound effects are spot-on, the animations are fluid, and the background noise fits the overall style well. Nice job!

Hauler 31 by benmcnelly 2014-12-20T05:08:00

I like the audio and graphics. The ambient noise and dialogue enhance the atmosphere a lot. Also, the graphics style is really nice and interesting.

0000 : Press Z by alvarop 2014-12-15T04:41:00

Very nice! My one gripe would be that often if I would flick the control stick either way, my character would remain facing the opposite way, but this could be a problem with Construct. I like the variation in the levels, and the graphics are solid. I was expecting a boss fight for the final stage, but I wasn't necessarily disappointed in the absence of a boss. I succeeded after 83 retries!

3Scale by jpmit 2014-12-21T18:47:00

Interesting gameplay mechanics! I managed to beat the game with 36 deaths. After the first few levels I wasn't sure if the game would get more challenging, but it definitely did. The last few levels are where I got most of my deaths at. The music is nice and fits the game well.

Mr. Duck and the room0 by brainstorm 2014-12-20T04:53:00

Nice graphics and gameplay! I unfortunately couldn't get past 24. The floating guy is insanely frustrating.

Tight Angle by lase 2014-12-15T05:14:00

I got lucky and got the invincible bug, so I was able to play until I got the character to fill up nearly the entire screen, which was fun. The music is fine, but it gets repetitive rather quickly. The game mechanic of zooming out as you progress is very nice.

Sweet Dreams Bear by EvanEGibbs 2014-12-20T19:56:00

What an adorable game! The animations and graphics are splendid, and the story is very heartwarming. I took the objects in the background as hints to answer the questions, which worked wonders to lull my son to sleep. The game feels very polished, which helped create a nice little immersive atmosphere. Nice work!

Channel Surfing by RockhopperGames 2014-12-21T07:54:00

This is very nice! The graphics style works very well to give the game a nice, monotonous, channel-surfing-afternoon kind of feel. I like the channel variety, and the interactive channels were neat; I especially liked the penguin one. This game lets me experience the joy of continuously changing the channel and finding that there is literally nothing on (after channel 25 at least). Also, this is a great interpretation of the theme.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Delivery! by the31 2015-08-30T02:10:00

The graphics looks very nice (bg, van, city), except for maybe the text boxes. Some sound would've been nice, but the rest of what you have, for 9 hours of work, is pretty impressive. I tried my best to drive responsibly initially, but after delivered the bioweapon I drove around very recklessly for a while. The jumps and car physics are wonderful to play around with; great job with the mechanics.

I Am the Baby <3 by euske 2015-08-30T01:02:00

Very polished! I like how each machine is different and has it's own quirks. Took me a bit to figure out how taming and targeting works, but once I did the game made a lot of sense. The length and level variation is very nice. It isn't too short or long, and gets more interesting each level. The ranged machines are pretty annoying, but since there are health pickups it's possible to survive being hit a few times.

Being a Video Game Monster! by g_o 2015-08-25T04:41:00

I was unable to beat it, as I ended up getting stuck on the level with the house in the sky. I figured I should be jumping on the lasers to get up there, but was unable to successfully do so. The camera felt a bit wonky at times, and I was unable to jump while holding W which made some puzzles tough. Cool idea, and the puzzles were pretty varied which was nice.

Succubus by ReactorScram 2015-08-29T03:41:00

Sweet! Controls felt solid, the damage effects and explosions were appealing and the gameplay was good. Only gripes are the game was a bit short (it took me longer on my first playthrough, but subsequent playthroughs were much quicker), and the background clashed with the foreground a bit.

Monere (unfinished) by WetDesertRock 2015-08-30T05:15:00

Wonderful graphics. I really like the slowly changing color. The orbs looked kind of out of place, for me at least. The audio fits very well. I enjoyed watching things bounce around for awhile.

Don't Stick Me by mincrmatt12 2015-08-30T04:15:00

The controls scheme and camera were pretty wonky, but the game was fun.

Blenderman by NeanderG 2015-08-25T04:58:00

The graphics and audio and gameplay are equally lovely. Lovely and simple. The menus were their own little puzzle which was neat.

Dungeon Battle by sausagroll 2015-08-30T04:32:00

The difficulty scaling felt appropriate, and the attacking/blocking mechanics were good and simple. Some sort of audio/visual feedback on a successful block would be cool, but what you already have is solid.

Ladybirds massacre by celisoft 2015-08-25T04:45:00

The controls were confusing at first, but I think I figured out that "down" is the way to move "forward", and then it made sense. Cool premise.

Poopie the Flying Monster by Sadale 2015-08-29T03:59:00

Cool game. Took quite awhile to level up, losing because of the cops and having to start over was annoying, and the lightning bolt collision detection felt unfair, but the gameplay was fun, the powerup options were good, and it felt nice to poo on people once I got things upgraded. Music might have been nice, but it was fine without it.

St. George's Academy for Monster-Slaying Lasses by AlariSilver 2015-08-30T02:27:00

I like the hand-drawn graphics, and the story was interesting. The music wasn't bad, but didn't fit the mood I don't think. Not always a fan of RenPy games, but the subject matter and art style kept me interested in this one. Nice work.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Saneedling by commanderstitch 2015-12-23T07:07:00

Wonderfully charming game, even moreso than usual, thanks to the great music. The gameplay was enjoyable. I wasn't sure what the difference between phases one and two were, but both growing a seed and eating everything were fun, and especially the latter. Great game as always, with lots of heart :D
