Loved the game. I believe I died in all the ways:
Gunpowder explosion
Fall
Drowning
Impalement
Suffocation
Dehydration
Snake bite
I'll be adding builds for other systems when I get the time.
I want to apologize to all of you. The dynamic DNS service stopped working for some reason, and I've since changed passwords and reconfigured it. It should remain working throughout the rest of the competition.
Disregard All Humans is one of my favorites so far, with the game balance and speed perfectly matched. You slowly realize that the moon filling up is an indicator of...something, and the planet shrinks so that you just barely start to notice it. Overall a solid game that lasts long enough to hold my attention span, without being so long that it gets boring. Here's my first 5/5 in overall.
Perhaps if you revisit this you should...I have no idea, it's perfect the way it is.
I have no idea what's going on here. I understand that I can craft stuff, but how? And how do I kill the first zombie? Also, when moving you need to make a "while (keysidown) {move}" as opposed to "while (key was initially pressed) {move}"
Don't have pygame installed (that's my fault). Note that it doesn't run on linux at all if you leave the apostrophe in.
Pros: Gameplay is solid
Cons: Nothing really
Suggestions: Perhaps more complex gameplay with arcs as you jump, and some generic rainforest tracks are in order.
Score:4/5
Looks neat. protip: if you're out of time, use a timer as a highscore. 2/5
I cannot play on linux 64bit with love 0.8.0:

I think you captured the nature of the game perfectly. The game ends a bit too quickly for me though. 4/5
Opens up as a 0x0 window in Linux x64 with Sun-Java (Slackware 13.37). Using Xfce.
It crashes constantly on Linux x64 with love 0.8.0.
Got it to run with the fix. Cool game, though the whole air business is a bit confusing.
The only thing separating this game from perfection is having a few different factions/colors for the enemy. I would definitely buy this game. If you ever decide to improve the game, the first thing you should do is add multiplayer.
Finally, a space invaders overhaul! I would never have thought to do something like this on a sphere.
Every time I place a table, the controls die. No chrome for me here on linux though :/
Cool game, but all I get is a black screen. Console output is here: pastebin.com/9scJPDMk
This is fantastic! Give me some more weapons, more health, and a little more strategy and I'll be able to play it with the rest of my family! It reminds me of Advance Wars a little bit.
I like the mechanic, but it's not much of a game if there's no end condition :/
Great game, though I think that it could be improved with a faster scrolling speed as the game went on. Also, I'm opening the leaderboard with a HighScore of 80799.0
http://db.tt/L97RLRw0
Cool game, though I think that you could do with the incentive/increasing difficulty that caranha says.
I loved this game, and I'll tell you why I gave you 5 stars everywhere. Because it's a board game that I played with my family. The mood set when you're playing with four people is better than any other game in existence. The laughs you get when you crush someone into oblivion. And nothing beats the live trash-talking soundtrack, provided by my competive wife and kids. The graphics were also excellent. Even on my old table, the shading and reflections were excellent. I could not spot a single rendering malfunction anywhere. And because I could play it with other people, I'm giving you a five in fun as well. So, 5/5. This is the best fun I've had all LD. HOWEVER, we had some questions about the rules.
GENERAL QUESTIONS:
Do you have to take all moves when you're attacking?
Do you have to take all the moves when you're trying to land on a planet?
Can you trade cards?
Do you have to reveal your hand?
Can you play multiple production cards on one planet?
Can you play multiple production cards on one turn?
What happens when all of your pieces leave a planet?
Does the "Tiny World" card place a planet randomly?
When generating the starting four planets, do you have to place one in each 4x4 quadrant, or does the dice roll determine that?
Do you have to own the destination planet to teleport to when using the "Matter Transport" card?
When a person dies, does the person that killed him get the cards/planets?
Can you play more than one "Super Duper Lazer Beam" in an attack/defending?
Can you move on top of a player and attack from there?
Do dead units disappear forever?
How many units are you allowed to have on a planet at a time?
DEFENDING QUESTIONS:
If you are attacking a planet, do all the tokens stacked on the planet combine for defense?
If someone attacks a piece outside of a planet, can other units adjacent to the one attacking help defend?
If multiple units can defend, do all the defending units die upon loss?
COMBAT QUESTIONS:
If I understand the instructions correctly, you can only attack/invade at the beginning of your turn. This means that you have to move next to someone, wait for them to try to attack you, then you can retaliate when it's your turn again. Is that right?
COMMENTS:
Wife - "If you stack more than 4 units on a planet, it's invincible, since only 4 can attack at a time
Kid #1 - "It's like risk, but one that doesn't last weeks."
Kid #2 - "If I win, do I get to keep the money?"
Thanks for the cool game, and if you fix them, I'll keep a copy of these rules around :D
Great game with features I've never seen anywhere else. Not certain what this has to do with tinyness, but still fun to play. Release this on iOS and you have a day 1 purchase :D
I like the game, but a more in-depth readme would be nice. Also, the clear button should reset the position as well, so you can't just assign single instructions to step through the game. Otherwise,
EPIC!
A programming game where you have to make a smart robot? Brilliant! Reminds me of my days back when I made a wall-evading robot.
Excellent work here. The graphics and gameplay were a strong point here and did not disappoint. Add a two player mode (split screen perhaps) and I'd buy the game.
I'm not quite sure what you're doing here. It's pretty bad, whatever it is, sorry to say :(
Sounds like you have a cool base for a drinking game though.
I really enjoyed the game, and it made me think more than any other entry out here. Got to use my good old 4x4 evo map-calculating skills here. You stretch out the game a little, I think that if you made the world a bit smaller it would be even better. 4/5
Cool game, though the timer is a bit high. Music is really well done! 4/5
Cool game, but why no source code? I really want to see it :<
If I could suggest two improvements, it would be to give me something else to do, and to slow the clock down a bit.
Webstart is a bad link, and the applet crashes for me. Slackware Linux 13.37x64. FF11
Pros: Sound effects were spot-on, and the multiple dimensions is pure geinus.
Cons: The solution to the last puzzle was inobvious, and made little sense
Overall, a fun short time waster, perfect for this compo. 4/5
Thoughts: A little background music hasn't hurt anyone, has it?
I love the game, and very innovative with the sliding planet! 4/5
The gameplay was okay, but there was no end. A simple highscore screen would have been nice to see. Also a bit boring when you get the sword and hold down the mouse for instant pwnage :/
@Kvisle Yes, I noticed that, and did not find the cause until after the deadline. I'll definitely look into turning this into an online game and will contact you if I do so; although if you've seen the code you know that any improvements are a little ways away from now.
@devwil I feel your pain, fellow linux user here. Unfortunately, there is no way to compile for OSX without dropping a few hundred dollars at the Apple store, and web games aren't the moneymakers. I consider this practice for getting a game job (one day), or making my own, and web games just aren't there yet. Just look at the fact that I hear no music because people have to use flash to play their tunes! If downloading hundreds of entries is your problem, send me an email and I will be more than happy to mail you a hard drive to hold them.
@netguy204 Yeah, I had this magnificent storyline, but it sorta falls apart when you have ten minutes left. Thanks for the detailed review!
@Jedi: The storyline/gameplay threw me for a loop. SDL_TTF was not as easy to use as I anticipated. And as for the storyline, I have no idea why it would seem like I was sleep deprived ;)
The boss deals damage to everyone with in a square in any direction every other turn. The player has to point at the boss to deal damage.
Can't actually play the game, but the soundtrack is awesome, and I can give you a 4/5 for actually making one.
Cannot run: Linux x64. I'll be in IRC if you want to sort this out.

Alright, here's my game: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=preview&uid=5874
I like the game, and the core gameplay is very innovative. The difficulty is a bit high though, and a more gradual difficulty would be appreciated.
LEADERBOARD GET: 368 people saved :D (pics or it didn't happen)
http://db.tt/Urdtk6at
Not quite sure what's going on here. I get a screen of dudes, then after dragging the mouse about a bit and watching these people "shoot", I see a screen with planets. Not rating until I have some idea what's going on here. FF11, Linux x64
@devwil Going to everybody's entries and shitting on them with your "WEB ENTRIES ARE ALPHA MASTER PROGRAMMING RACE" is a win for nobody. Cut it out.
Awesome game, but gets too laggy at level 3. 4/5
I definitely have to give you points for ambition. Throwing together a MOTBS over 48 hours cannot be easy. However, playing the game becomes a bit of a grind for a few reasons: no realtime updating, you have to rely on messages. No lobby, so you have to track down someone willing to have a match. No animations at all, leaving me wondering whether or not my damage took. Not enough movement or strategy when it comes to the fights, half of the game is just trying to move into a battle-ish shape. The infrastructure is un-nesecarrily complicated for such a small game. It does work well though.
Overall: Great aspirations, but too many flaws for me to see to the gameplay behind. 3/5
Cool game, although 5000 years is a long time. 3000 would have been more suitable. However, excellent game here with world generation, people, reproduction - everything here is great! I especially liked the bit art, and the humour at the end, Made me chuckle.
It seems that the mac/linux versions are crashing due to audio. Perhaps you would put up a silent build for us?
Pros: The graphics are excellent. Points for "BEER GET"
Cons: Not really a con, but your main link crashes at 15/23
Excellent game, with suprise difficulty after you've practiced with the booze run. 4/5
Thoughts: Some ukelele music would have been suitable for the beer run, so you could complete the redneck mood.
Cool game, but I'm not sure what the point is, or where the challenge lies. I'll just assume that it was cut due to time.
Not quite sure what this had to do with the theme, but the game is pretty awesome. If there was one feature that I could reccomend for you to add, it would be somehting to dodge/avoid, possibly with pickups. This is the most fun I've had playing a game all LD though. 4/5
High score: 33257
http://db.tt/tdcPKlxQ
I made it to level 4 with 26 missiles left. I think that the best improvement to the game (if you revisit it) would be to add a short intro about how the last space invader-defender person dies, but time is obviously a constraint here. 4/5
It was frustrating to not have the firing on an independent axis. A scrolling background would help a lot too.
While not a spectacular game, this one left me feeling dirty afterwards. 5/5 in Mood.
Fantastic! I have nothing bad to say about this game! I love the feeling of destruction you get when you go through some of the later levels.
The game's text doesn't load, (possibly) among other things. http://i.imgur.com/BWyYY.png
No rating from me, but it looks pretty good!
Linux Xavier 3.2.29 #2 SMP Mon Sep 17 14:19:22 CDT 2012 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
Slackware 14.0(64), upgraded from 13.37(64).
Fellow review-readers, what we have here is a marvelous example of a game. eli has provided me with the best game in the entire Ludum Dare thus far. I'll cover each category separately.
Innovation (5/5): Of all the board/card games I've played, this one manages to pack an interesting mechanic into a game without wasting hours setting it up (See: D&D, or other tabletop RPGs). The gameplay is simple, perhaps too much so, but it has a simple mechanic that captures my attention far longer than any game so far.
Fun (5/5): The idea of becoming a villain just to destroy the environment is a captivating one. The ability to destroy tiles and watching the game become an almost maze is unique and entertaining.
Theme (5/5): "You Are the Villain". It doesn't get much better here. Polluting oceans, burning forests, causing plagues, and enslaving people is about as villainous as you can get. Oh wait. You're competing against another villain at the same time. It's only a pity I can't double this score.
Graphics (5/5): In four words, unbelievable. It felt like I was really on my kitchen table playing this game. Despite my slightly aging computer, I was unable to discern pixels, nor were there any graphical hiccups. 60(+)FPS, easily. A little creepy that the AI looked like my family, but such is a game. The patterns on the cards were the icing on the cake. Simple, yet informative.
Audio (5/5): The clearest sound I've heard from a game yet. Absolutely incredible voice work from the AI as well.
Humor (5/5): Again, the AI is a well-rounded thing, being hilarious without coming off as fake or perpetually chipper. It had me laughing at many a time.
Mood (5/5): I rate mood as "Was I into the game". The answer here? A definitive YES! Nothing beats cackling about burning down forests while you're in a rush to go pollute an ocean
Overall (5/5): An impossibly well done game, with some excellent cross-platform support. Works well on my AFW furniture, on my Ikea furniture, even my floor. I love board games, but hate the setup/cleanup, and you've taken all of that out.
Notes: I love the simplicity of the game, but I made 3 additions to add a little more strategy.
#1: Players start in opposite corners.
#2: No sharing spaces with other players. (or jumping over them).
#3: Add one extra turn to the time it takes for a tile to be destroyed.
Appendix: My tile set: http://imgur.com/a/mcJa3#0
(glued to a cardboard backing)
I think you forgot to post your source.
Doesn't run on my system. I've tried both .jar's and the .sh.
Slackware 14.0_64. http://hastebin.com/purunelowe.avrasm
This game is just plain fun to play. 4/5
Easy to pick up, with a simple attack/punish feature in there as well. Maybe too easy, but polish is something hard to achieve in Ludum Dare. 4/5
WARNING: CONTAINS MATURE THEMES.
However, if you can work past that, you'll find an excellent ode to villany here. However, the fact that not all content was created during the compo knocks this one down to a 2/5 for me.
A little short and not quite on-theme, but it is a game, and you did finish it, so points for that!
Excellent game, with stellar level design. A little rough around the edges, but such is the norm.
I loved the game! "Tight" controls, with a new premise and all that; simply marvelous. I could see this, as is, being sold on mobile. 4/5.
Looking past the fact that the game is *very* confusing (it's incomplete, after all), it seems that you've got a pretty solid engine. It has a good "feel" to it, and I like the font.
I love your text adventure game! While incomplete, it had me laughing.
For those of you who can't get past the starting point, try "live" or "die".
At first glance, this game appears to be one about quitting, not about villany. However, after digging through the source code and finding that you're supposed to press enter, it would appear to be one of a genocidal Santa Claus. Is there something I'm missing here?
The game is very solid, with only three bugs to note.
One: Every single floor says "Welcome to Level 2"
Two: Enemies get scarcer and scarcer the father you go down.
Three: You often enter a room right on top of an enemy.
The only detriment against the game is it's lack of villainous themes. However, the music is stellar, the gameplay is solid, and the graphics are coherent.
Not a bad game, but it is a bit frustrating trying to "break" the items with the baseball bat. Sometimes they fly across the room, most of the time you just get a "hit" sound.
Although a bit difficult for my tastes, this game is well polished with well designed graphics. The level design is no slouch either, with a variety of challenges to keep the game fresh. 5/5
@BiceMaster:
You might want to check out what exactly that error message actually said. :P
@RexPeppers:
There are some Linux builds too, but if you're on a mac, sorry :/
@shaneshanekavanagh No need for that. Just ascmii for the driver update.
@VDZ I made this game for laughs, not inner complexity, but I see what you mean. Not everyone is going to like the game, and I appreciate the review and honesty. Thanks. (yes, for real, no sarcasm)
Excellent game, my only complaint being that the score should be multiplied by ten thousand or so. Nevertheless, an excellent game.
Excellent game, and bonus points for making an online game within the time constraints! Note that even if you're on the ship, you still game over.
Flawless game. Gave me the chills after playing. 5/5
Decent game, but it is linear and can get a little repetitive.
Pretty straightforwards, does what it sets out to accomplish.
I would like to see more control over the jumps and some non-painful music if you were to continue developing it.
P.S. - I've fixed the Windows build in my game; thanks for pointing it out!
The game is good objectively.
Subjectively, what the heck was it?
I was collecting items, stuff went between screens, there was multiple time periods, an alien saucer, then boom - the game's done.
Reminds me of the game in the keynote :P
At any rate, it seems to be well-polished, just too short and no health.
It happens, welcome to Ludum Dare.
The game is difficult. I had a hard time "marching" up the stairs, and it seemed to go on forever, with no incentive.
...then I opened the sauce, changed a few Trues to Falses and vice versa. Cool game, I loved the ending animation. Only real complaint is that the difficulty is a bit much.
Also, if you're going to use autotracker, at least try a few and use the least obnoxious one :P
Well polished, atmospheric. I remain confused, and convinced that some of the levels are unbeatable. Nevertheless, it's pretty good.
I can't get it to work:
bash-4.2$ ./bounce.sh
./bounce: error while loading shared libraries: libGLEW.so.1.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Slackware 14.0x64 - 3.7.9 kernel.
Cool game - interesting take on the theme.
I didn't manage to make it past those two spikes that were really close, but I had fun anyway.
Pretty complex, it reminds me of SpaceChem. Very cool though.
Solid game - nothing new here or unexpected (besides the ending[s]). Appreciate the Linux build - I wish people would do more of them, especially when they're only a click away.
Lemmings meets Closure.
Not original, but the gameplay was pretty solid.
I'm not certain how it tied into "Minimalism" though.
Forgot to mention - there's a rap for the red and green colors here: => https://github.com/evilseanbot/ld26/blob/master/Music/color%20raps.txt
Very confusing, but it looks very complex. If only I knew what was going on here...
