Too Big For This World by Hallway 2012-04-23T22:06:00
The physics on the balls gives it a cool sense of randomness. Nice premise too.

The physics on the balls gives it a cool sense of randomness. Nice premise too.
I love the idea, really unusual. I found it extremely hard, though I am colourblind so I guess that doesn't help :)
I like the cubic planet idea, very mind-bending.
I also have the random-shooting-direction problem on linux.
Thanks! For reference, spawning in the water is normal; You're a giant so it's just like wading :) The controls are horrible though I agree, I didn't have time to add things like any indication whatsoever of where to click ...
Kvisle, thanks for the bugreport (my first ever!), I just checked in a fix for that bug into my github. Sorry about the crashes everyone :(
Quite enjoyable, though the control system got a bit confusing.
Would have been cool to do more stuff, like shoot at the obstacles.
"click the mouse to move". Great instructions. Very enjoyable, and obviously the soundtrack is perfect!
This was really fun. I liked the art style and the music. The difficulty could have gone up much quicker for my liking though.
Very cool, I like being able to move the ship before the game starts, very slick.
The wall of text as the first screen was a bit intimidating. The music was very cool, but I agree the time limit seemed quite high
The music was cool, as was the beam sound effect. I felt like power-ups that made me go faster actually had the effect of making it harder to control.
Allowing to choose your shape and using that for stats is very novel, nice work.
Pretty crazy. The dialogue popups got in my way once or twice, but I wouldn't want to get rid of them; they're awesome!
Very enjoyable indeed. I liked the progressions (stage 5 was my favourite)
This was quite addictive, I wanted to get to the next stage to see what the next evolution would be. Great job!
It looks lovely.
I had fun with this. I liked the different types of creatures, though I think it could have used more options to make it more strategic
Excellent graphics and sounds. I can see what the other comments are saying about controls, it feels somewhat spongy and like I'm not fully in control. Controls are hard to get right though and with a bit of tweaking you've got a truly impressive game.
I liked the little tip of the hat as he jumps.
The music was cool (though somewhat repetetive!). I really liked the graphics too.
I also got a freeze, but I was enjoying myself in a very confused sort of way before that. Good job.
I'd love it if it were more obvious who the parents were, but otherwise lots of fun.
I quite liked that there weren't any enemies, and I was just wandering around taking notes. The drawings were cool too.
I really like the idea. The visuals are nice too, though as others have said the battles are kind of slow. Nice work.
Wow, that was awesome! Beautiful pixel art, great music and fun to play as well.
Very cool idea. Being colour blind sucks for this game :(
Wow, that was both extremely slick and very enjoyable. I'm hugely impressed you managed to get all that done and polished so well in 48 hours, great job.
I died in many different ways, but I had fun doing it.
I liked the skeptic popping up to insist we find another link each time, good work.
The link you posted in the previous comment worked for me. It is very confusing!
Awesome! Any plans to do a spinoff novel? I want to hear more about DGP Space Lion!
Looks great and I like the music. I died many times :(
The music is sublime, and the level design is great, fantastic job. I love the sound when you jump, and it goes without saying the hair and cloth are a great touch.
Looks and sounds great.
The pixel art was beautiful, and it was one of the most fun games I've played, probably due to the simple mechanic. Kudos
Fantastic level design, the whole thing really ties together well, jolly good show
I think I would have liked to seen both a little more interactivity, and a little more subtle introduction (e.g rather than explain what a thing is, have the protagonist use it in such way as to make it clear what it is). Those are minor critiques though and I enjoyed it very much, thank you.
Pretty cool! Looks very nice, though my colourblindness didn't help me I fear
The music is utterly brilliant, the best I've heard so far, great work! The intro is also a work of genius, and the game is fun to play. A couple of slight niggles; the text doesn't update during the intro and it started playing again for me as I hadn't clicked. I also missed most of the tutorial as as soon as it gave me my first instruction I started clicking, which skipped the rest of the instructions. Anyway great work.
I liked this a lot and played for quite a while. For only 60 seconds work your music loop was surprisingly good !
Great theme song! Enjoyably mental
Absolutely stunning for 2 days work, such an impressive aesthetic, and a fun game to boot! My favourite game so far.
The control system was kind of frustrating, the audio was basic and it was tedious crawling over to the enemy base to spend a few turns shooting his base, but with all that it was really quite fun! Good work getting a turn-based strategy done in 2 days.
Very impressively polished! It looks great, and the gradual introduction to the mechanics is quite professional, good job
Absolutely brilliant. You should totally continue this in a post-compo version and add those features you talked about, I'd love to control a boss during a boss battle!
I'm beginning to think I might have slightly misjudged the difficulty of this game :(
I admire the Heroes perseverance. They keep on going despite everyone they try to save getting splatted. Great idea, particularly the mustache mechanic, and pretty fun too!
I think the order of the Paladins have a serious flaw in their attack plan. If they just took all of their orbs and put them in a box somewhere, there'd be no risk of me corrupting the world :) Great game.
The graphics are lovely, nicely minimilast. The gameplay is pretty basic though, and I wished my gun had been a bit more reliably in terms of when it would shoot!
How did it know I want to kill all the cats? Great meow sounds!
Easy to grasp, but difficult to master. Awesome work!
Nice, those kids look spoiled anyway
Wow, really really cool. Some very funny lines, and very dark!
Incredibly original and hilarious. Bravo
There should definitely be a goal, and the music should sound less like my nightmares if possible :)
The music was excellent. I took me a while to figure out how to actually pick up the clown, but that may be because I'm an idiot.
Loved the visuals and the mood. The pace was a bit slow, but overall quite enjoyable.
The opening where you choose your level in game was very nice. The glass breaking mechanic is incredibly satisfying and thunderously awesome in every way. On the downside you missed an opportunity to have a cool "nom nom nom" sound effect for the goat, and as others have said having to wait for the level to end when you messed up was annoying. Also, you slow down when you jump while sprinting, which is weird.
Sound and visuals were stunning! I loved the modem sound at the end, and it feels good to play Unity games on Linux man. The only downsides were that it was rather easy, and that the wall of text at the start was mostly unnecessary.
Cloth physics, awesome! The music was cool too.
I loved the music and the art. The title screen will haunt my nightmares!
Blimey! I'm tempted to send a link to the Daily Mail for laughs :)
I liked the smooth scrolling, and it was kind of fun after I figured out what to do! Maybe offer more money so I could do more things? I spent most of my time just watching.
Fairly enjoyable, I liked the progression, and the carnage that happened as soon as the enemies with guns came after me.
Very basic graphics, but the game is quite fun. Jolly good show.
This might be the best premise I've ever heard for a game. It is very confusing though, I would like to know which floor people want to go to (after all, real elevators know the floor the users want!), maybe you could add challenge some other way?
As others have said, the graphics are beautiful. I would have loved a way to increase the size of the window though.
Very enjoyable! It is a bit slow when there's only one building left, but probably the most fun game I've tried so far, good job
Quite cool and fun. The name was probably my favourite part :)
Very loosely related to the theme, but kind of fun once I got the hang of it. I found myself wishing there was more skill involved, and that I could tell how much money I had.
Although it took me a while to figure out what was going on, and how to control it (xbox pad didn't work), I eventually figured it out and had a blast. The sound is *amazing*. It very successfully evokes how much is going on by growing more hectic. The gameplay is unique too, and I even enjoyed figuring it out. Awesome stuff.
I loved the graphics, and the little bad guys were quite original
This was very enjoyable, jolly good show. A really simple mechanic that's easy to grasp, but is fun and addictive too.
As others have said the difficulty ramps up too slowly at the start, but it is really fun. The slicing works well and it's quite satisfying!
The character animation is nice and smooth too, and the rocket launcher is fun!
An original idea executed quite well. The Mario style one was a bit easy, but both were pretty enjoyable.
Really nice mechanics, particularly the wall jump. My gun felt too feeble at first though.
The music and graphics work together really well, but I think it's a bit too hard
Stunning visuals and mood. The madness does seem a bit abrupt sometimes, but it's an astounding achievement for 3 days!
Awesome. The mechanic is introduced perfectly without handholding, and the puzzles are bloody hard!
I ran it on Linux OK, but the inventory window and the dialog window were opaque so I couldn't see my character when I went behind them. Good work on the game. In addition to what HuvaaKoodia said, I'd also suggest working on the font a little bit, I found it quite hard to read.
The gravity simulation is really cool, nice work. The noises could use some work though, but it's pretty enjoyable overall
Really nice design, and fits the theme well. Very hard though!
It was crying out for music since you're just pressing a button to a rhythm, but really impressive nevertheless. Looks really polished
I liked the narrative, and the puzzle was fun at first. The waiting was a bit tedious though, and a bit more variety in the puzzles would have been cool. Good job overall though!
Nice pixels, but I think you hate me because all the sections are really hard :(
At first I was really angry at the crazy controls, but then I read the instructions and realised what that first section was about :) It was pretty fun, though I think a little variety in the powerups would have gone a long way
Awesome! Looks great, sounds great, and it's really fun. I like that hitting the edges of the blocks sends you off sideways, makes it that bit trickier.
Looks excellent. I thought that big speaker would have a deeper sound!
What format is your source code in? I can't read it. This game is so hard I can't even cheat :)
The square stars were cool, as was the pop up text. There could be more to it though, it was a little dull.
Superb introduction to the mechanics! The way they were introduced gradually so I just got each puzzle reminded me of Portal, excellent work.
Looks great, awesome music, hilarious. I'm not sure I'd really consider it a game though.
Pretty cool. It seemed somewhat though that I was exploring all of the choices eventually which dimished my sense of being in control somewhat. I enjoyed the setting and the story though
I made him cry. Whoops :)
Confusing and relaxing at the same time. I too didn't really know how I should be separating the plants
I loved the sounds, and the idea was cool, nice job
Bloody brilliant idea. I was completely misled until I got the multi-ball. Mind blowing!
Really impressive! For 48 hours this is amazingly playable and addictive, though the sounds could use a little work, the eating sound was terrifying :)
Original game mechanic. Sometimes it was tricky to get through doorways, but it was fairly enjoyable. Good job
Fantastic idea and surprisingly tricky
Superb idea, great execution. Well done!
itamarcu: if you could post the errorlog.log file that should be created when it fails to launch that would be immensely helpful.
Endurion: Yes the password can be found just by using that computer (though it kind of assumes a little UNIX / coding experience). Thanks for giving it a go!
Woohoo, I'm super impressed that you decoded the signal! Especially with the silly mistake on the whiteboard (I can't believe I missed that, the value of s should be positive, good catch!).
It certainly wasn't my intention to be frustrating. My original plan had been for the lab computer to be some kind of guided program to help decode the signal (with a cool low-res style graph), but I ran out of time.
For the first computer I forgot to put the commands you could run into /bin to give a hint, so that's ended up harder than I'd planned too :( If anyone reads this far, they are: cat, cd, pwd, ls, strings and file. I think next time I'll still make a ridiculous niche game about some geeky topic, but I'll make sure I put some kind of hinting system in to prevent actively annoying people.
Thanks for the feedback!
I loved the music, but I echo other comments about not adequately forcing the player to learn the rules in the early levels. Great job!
Nice job. I disagree about the level design on the second level, after a couple of cameras I just legged it for the exit and just made it, so it worked for me at least :)
The level design on the other levels could use some polish though I admit. In a game like this with potentially frustrating mechanics (those saws on the floor and the ceiling, AARRGH :) you really need all the other aspects to be very polished to avoid frustration.
Very impressive overall, though get a sound person for next time !
Really nice idea, having to count the 10 seconds is quite innovative. It was a bit too hard though I think, but it looks good. Nice job
Really cool idea, nice use of the theme to give us a 10 second glimpse at the obstacles. In practice the birds can be very hard to avoid sometimes, and I think that poor knight would be crushed after such a long fall! Great job
I appreciate the digestive accuracy, though I wish the goat poop could be used to damage or dissuade the enemy!
Great mechanic that fits the theme really well and really fun to play. The last part of the the last level took me a few tries so I was really pleased when I finally got it. I think music would have been especially nice since it could have been an additional indicator of the time of day
Nice idea and quite fun, but I think it actually would have been better without the time limit
Exceptionally well polished, though I feel unfairly discriminated against due to my terrible ignorance. Great fun though, and an awesome voice over. Great job.
Looks gorgeous, extremely polished, funny concept and great control system. The gameplay itself is quite frustrating though, too hardcore for me. Amazing work overall though.
It was very confusing, but I launched a rocket, hooray!
Looks great, and I liked the music (though the sound effects were somewhat annoying). I wish the theme was 60 seconds though because it really felt like not enough time. I lost most of the 1 second between mana potions waiting to press return again to take another (I am old and have bad reflexes)
This is the first game I've rated, and I hope they're all this good! Great concept (I love games with programming!), really fits the theme well trying to get the instructions done in time. If anything I'd say the last few levels were too easy, but extremely impressive overall.
Added a Windows build for all you crazy Windows folks. Knock yourself out!
You have to click the fire extinguisher to grab it, sorry if that wasn't clear!
Restarting from the beginning is killing me! Cruel and unusual punishment. Otherwise neat idea, but I don't have the patience to get very far (Is 295 bounces on level 6 a record :)?)
Good ideas, and you made some nice progress, but the time limit seemed to really hit you and left it mostly unfinished. I know the feeling :)
I loved the look of the characters, and the red pixels to indicate health. The mechanics and level design are impressive too. Damn good job.
I won! The mechanic is just the right kind of unusual, but the control scheme is too unusual! My little finger does not want to play games, garrrrrgh.
I'm glad I didn't try this sober. Jolly good shoe
Wow. Stunning visuals, perfect audio, and an utterly mesmerising mechanic. Amazing
Very atmospheric writing, nice job. Not a great deal of choice, but the mood more than made up for it. Songs were perfect.
Great idea, but it is really hard! Some kind of a score would helped to motivate, as well as an indication of how long was left.
Very atmospheric, and a really neat idea.
I loved the unique appearance, especially the main character that holds his hands behind his back while running, badass. The game mechanic itself though was not fun for me. Switches and doors and backtracking makes me sad.
Way too hard for me, but I liked Santa's appearance, especially how he seemed surprised every time I jumped.
Loved the music, and the movement felt just right.
I too finished the first time without any zombie action. Good atmosphere though, pretty spooky.
Now I have a bow and arrow, ho ho ho :) Diagonal movement would have been helpful, but other than that my only complaint would be that the end of the game felt a bit easy. Great fun though.
Loved the simple mechanic, which was quite addictive. Definite "just one more try" sense to it.
They told me that my colour blindness would be an obstacle to my career as a hitman, and they were right. I am a menace! Great idea, loved the scope zoom, very innovative.
Very very impressive. Got the weight of the tank down just right, felt very meaty. Hard to hit, but satisfying when you do!
I liked the dialogue, and the possession depictions. As others have said it needed more to do to make it feel like an adventure game.
I really like the music, and the lighting was cool (particularly for finding my tree again). I felt like it could have been a bit more varied between the waves, but then I guess that's just the time constraint hitting you.
Pretty good! Simple but the theme obviously applies. I would have liked the horizontal motion to be a bit less "sticky" (i.e motion stops as soon as you release the key), but otherwise pretty good.
I really liked the controls, something a bit different!
Phenomenal. Music was brilliant, looks gorgeous, genius idea.
I am a not bad miner! Wooohoo. Nice take on the theme, and a pretty fun game, nice job.
You can go through doors by shooting at them, trippy!
Hilarious controls + derpy faced man = win
The music reminded me of sonar pings, a really good fit. The game is fun too, though I think the extra light made it a bit too easy.
Well designed, introduced the gameplay elements gradually, and super fun! Great job
Great idea, really good use of the theme.
The music was very peaceful, and the day / night cycle is a really nice touch. Sliding against the walls would be nice!
I think I'd like to be able to jump (or maybe I just couldn't find the key?), but still great work and good fun!
Now I am become Death, the destroyer of birds. I like what you've got, but could do with more of a challenge :)
Sad story, nice prose!
Wow that was great. Looks awesome, and is tremendously fun. Amazed you got it all done!
Cool idea, though quite repetitive at the minute, would love to see my guy wearing the armour. Nice music too
Looks great. I don't agree that there's no challenge because the player can't get hurt, I liked that. On the other hand the gameplay was a bit repetitive. The bridge was cool though!
Surprisingly fun, and great sound too!
Nice sounds (mouth sounds are best sounds), though very easy!
I'm not entirely sure what was going on there. The gap between calls was a bit long, and eventually I gave up.
The health upgrades are expensive!
Oh no I've been tried for war crimes! Can't wait for the sequel
Yes I couldn't get through the first blue orb, and I'm also on Linux.
That was great, very polished, I loved the robot voice, and the neat shadows. Only let down is the length!
Fantastic idea, great game. It was so rare that I managed to hit things with the fruits I think I'd like them to do more damage, but otherwise super
Love the graphics and the prologue voices! It's bloody hard though, I haven't been able to beat level 2 yet. Also until I'd read your blurb it wasn't obvious why some shots did nothing, a visual indication for that would be great.
Amazing job though overall.
It worked for me on Windows, but I already had Python and Pygame installed so maybe it was that. I had great fun with it once I got the hang of yo-yo ing, I love the effect once it goes Frenzy!
Neat idea, and surprisingly complex. Frustratingly hard though!
Neat idea! I agree with what others have said about additions, it would also be nice if the buds got dirtier the more they cleaned :)
Pretty cool, but very frustrating! Once I realised that my hitbox was only my feet it got easier, but still pretty tough
The background looks great, and it's a fun well made game. Expert mode was just the right difficulty for me, though sometimes it can be hard to make out words when it gets very busy. Overall great job!
Controls are very spongy, it took me a while to realise I was even in control of the truck what with it taking turns left automatically and not responding to input immediately. Also surely mustard is a better weapon?!
Superb presentation, very slick and a great idea. It was too hard for me though, it's very frustrating to get sent back to the start of an area!
Fantastic idea. It's very tense towards the end, I died at 05:00 :(
I like the clean visual style very much.
I had fun in the first sector, but for some reason shift didn't work for me to leave, and neither did the key rebinding (it just stopped when I clicked on the key)
Love the style, and the intro was great. The game itself could have done with some spicing up, maybe some more types of badgers, or the umbrella could lend itself to a neat defensive move.
I liked the simple visual style a lot, it kind of reminded me of 90s films like lawnmower man. The levels were a bit long though, I would have liked to get them done and try new weapons a bit faster.
Great idea and audio, both music and narration. The cart was a bit annoying to push around though, would have been nice if it moved faster
I too have failed to run it, crash after launching on Windows 7
Very original idea, though it's very easy once you get the hang of it. Well done
Nice idea, those sheep seem pretty hardcore though, I felt like the world's worst monster :)
Oh that's a shame flatgub, finding people who might want to play this is going to be hard I think. Are you on Windows? Does the Window appear or does it hang at the console? Maybe try running it from the command prompt and seeing if there any errors? Thanks
OK thanks, I haven't done much testing on Windows. Which version of Windows do you have out of interest? Thanks for the help
I updated the binaries to hopefully fix the deadlock bugs, I'll try rating some games now and see what the new players thing :D
Woohoo, really glad someone is enjoying it Wesley! The tapes are C, compiled with the GCC arm toolchain into Armv2 assembler, then linked up with a bit of hand codes assembly, run on a C emulator running as a python extension model with the hardware devices in pure python. It is a fun project :)
Loved it. The music was suitably freaky and I enjoyed eating all those bothersome people. Very droll.
I have the same problem as TiByte, also on Ubuntu 14.04.
I like the music, and the gameplay was simple but kind of fun. I'd have liked more unit types though, maybe a catapult I could direct?
Very slick and polished. Quite fun but a bit familiar
Great look and interesting idea, but very short. I liked the ending, and I enjoyed scaring "The End" :)
Wow, super polished, great graphics and addictive and fun gameplay. Well done!
I like the premise, but as others have said it's a bit clunky and I'm way too slow climbing the beanstalk. Good overall though!
It looks great, but the controls on the Linux version don't seem to work :( I press a direction key on start and my UFO goes crazy for a bit before settling down, after which the only control that does anything is space bar to make a beam.
Great music and idea, but the gameplay dragged a bit
Ha that was great. Loved the music on each level, and the slowly dawning realisation of how much of a jerk I am. Also the last line was great. Top notch!
Great idea! Loved the music and the art too, the evil boss was suitably monstrous. The energy bar looked a bit hard to read for me (red green colourblind), but otherwise it was easy to understand what was going on. I would liked a few more options, maybe ring an employee to chew them out? Increase the price of the coffee?
I was disappointed the mechanics were so familiar at first, but it was very well designed and quite addictive. Loved the music
This game is pretty fun and I think with a little more work on things like the sound (it was kind of annoying) it could become a very good game! PS Loved the parallax hills
The soundtrack is amazing, what did you use to make it, or did you get it from elsewhere? Also great game
Looks amazing, particularly the glowing and the quick turns. Great idea too, I would have liked to see more levels. CYBER!
Woohoo another morse game. It exciting trying to keep on top of everything and remember the morse at the same time, I thought the timing in the default game was fine, but then two people have told me my game is unplayably hard :|
Yes I appear to have made the timing much too stringent :(
@Joror the turning is in degrees. R1 would be a very small turn indeed :)
@little-burrito That was amazing thank you. I wasn't sure if anyone would be persistent enough to finish! I certainly spotted a couple of bugs watching you play, it definitely missed a few keypresses here and there which doesn't help, and the activation bug at the end was because you were too close to the door; I felt very bad about that one!
Thank you so much for the video, that was a gift I didn't expect to receive
Very addictive and fun. Super impressive!
I loved this. I loved the inertia to the pods, I liked the little people jostling around, and the tension of the timer as it ticked down just a few metres from docking. Great work!
Great little puzzler, the mechanics were introduced at a nice pace. Also good cowing :)
Good idea, implemented well. Some physics so the robot towers could fall over might have been fun
Very funny (I liked the penguins), but as others have said the theme is not tremendously obvious
Enjoyable and addictive, the shifting layers mechanic made it a bit different, nice work
I was disappointed that feeding Bubbo sponges and dirt didn't grow some kind of monster, but perhaps I just wasn't persistent enough. Back to the game!
Superb. I loved how the levels zoomed out, and the smooth relaxing sounds. It did feel like it went a bit slow though and I got stuck on one level. I made it right to the end once but a building prevented me from going through the gate, gaaaaaaaaaah. Very fun but very frustrating too.
I really liked this, even though this kind of thing has been done before, I still think it is a great adventure game! Fantastic sprites, each one looked wonderful
There was a really long load time between attempts which kind of took away from the fun. Looks and sounds amazing though!
Looks great, very hard to control!
It looked great, and it's a lovely idea. It wasn't challenging though really and the the balloon pickup seemed a bit flaky
I like the main idea but if you could develop it by adding movement and different levels you could make it more interesting.
Really liked the music, it added to the mood very well. Also the shadows on the planet were cool.
Looks great, and is adorably mental.
Nice music and mood, but I was mostly confused about what would happen when the colours mets
A interesting idea! The explosions bouncing off the walls was a nice touch. As others have said the firing control takes too long and feels unresponsive. Also as a colourblind person I could not distinguish between the yellow and green enemies
Nice game, I liked the planetary idea and the music was great. I would have liked a clearer indicator of when I was bigger than something else, and some parallax or some other kind of way to tell I was moving when there wasn't anything else on screen. Overall very nice!
That's a nice challenge. Very difficult! I wish I had more time with each key as I usually die very soon after it changes
Gah your crane is fiendish! I couldn't grab the whale ever, gaaaaaaah :)
I finished the game after 1439 processor tics! I also had the issue that f7f5 had but I managed to compile it from source. It's very short and a bit mental, but it certainly looks cool!
Looks fantastic, and an interesting little mechanic (though it could be tidied up with a bit more work and made a bit more responsive). Great job!
Crazy idea, really interesting and unusual gameplay, and of course it looks mind-glowingly great. Stunning stuff
Thanks gelisam, I'll have a look into that and hopefully fix my packaging for next time
I read your blog post, but I still found it way too hard, sorry! It's not the speed, but rather the precision required to pass; I'd hit the side because I hadn't lined it up correctly even given plenty of time. Still it looks great and with a bit of an increase to the hole size I think this would be fantastic.
Looks great, and a unique idea. It's really hard without a cardboard though :)
Very cool. I felt like it could have been a bit faster at the start, but it was a lot of fun! Great job. I recorded a video of myself playing : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYFYF3MWiyU
Nicely introduced puzzler mechanics, though it was a bit difficult to get between the beams on the last level! Also it seemed like it was mostly colour shifting rather than shape shifting
That's pretty mental :) Once I figured out I could shoot high to make it go further it became easier, am I meant to be turning things into bananas or toilets? Makes sense I suppose
As others have said the single button to shift and go up was difficult to get the hang of, but it's a unique idea and very cool
Sweet and relaxing, a nice take on the theme and the popular customer satisfaction games. The music is really charming. It was frustrating that you were constantly out of materials, so maybe a larger order each time would both be less frustrating and harder to manage in terms of resources. It would have kept me playing longer if more factors gradually got added or the difficulty increased, but really well-presented.
Hugely impressive entry, great polish, look and audio. The shifting animation is great, and it's very responsive feeling. I'd say it's a bit fast paced for me and a bit random feeling, but very impressive nonetheless. I recorded a short video of myself playing it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0egE7SQeYG4
It was super slow on Android with only one enemy every now and again, was that intentional?
Loved the pixel art and the shading. The dialogue was also great!
Super ambitious and crazy, love the environment, but I never found the gamepad. Also I'd like to be able to move one direction and fire another, but it occasionally shoots in the way I'm moving
OK That was amazing. I had to turn the sound off though since hearing the sound of the last thing I pressed while trying to recognise another thing was making my brain hurt :)
Great simple idea that's really fun to play. The level progression seemed a little strange as there were some simple ones in the middle, but overall great effort!
Wow that was amazing. Super polished, great use of the theme, addictive and fun! I love the blinky faces and the tutorial was a nice touch.
Great title screen, and in general the graphics are excellent. Just about playable with one player too :)
Great music, but it wasn't clear if my shapeshifters were helping in any given disaster, and with all 4 of them assigned there was nothing for me to do
Very slick and well implemented, but super hard. That might be because I'm colourblind though, I found the yellow and green very difficult to distinguish
Hilarious and insane. Great take on the theme
The aesthetic is nice, the silhouette saw blade and blood look great. The game itself gets repetitive fast and there's really no chance of failure so upping the ante with some speed increases or different types of zombie would go a long way. Great effort overall
Beautiful pixel art, and the kickback of the cannon is perfect. The sounds also fits perfectly, the best game I've played so far, congrats
Ooh great idea! I'm having fun, but I'm royally stuck on level 9. The waveform seems to match fairly well, but I must have something wrong. It would be nice if I could play the target sound as well as my own, (also if the play and stop buttons didn't make a noise :)). Very innovative and a cool mood though
the letter choice was slightly uncomfortable which I'm sure was intentional. The animation of the rat and in fact all the graphics were wonderful, and the rocket at the end was a lovely touch. Great job!
bog13: I switched to itch.io so hopefully folks can download now
svyatozar: Sorry that makefile was leftover from something else (I updated it now though), you can just run python fullsteam.py. Thanks for trying!
I love the idea, it was very mind bending seeing through all the viewpoints at once. I found myself wishing the golems snapped to the grid more, a few times I found I couldn't make them turn to the direction I wanted. It looks great though, especially liked the golem model
Utterly stunning visuals, possibly the best I've seen from a LD entry. Really fun game too, I played it all the way to the end and it had a nice level of difficulty, made me feel smart sometimes, amazing work. This is my favourite entry by far so far. PS I made it crash by dialing 667274448 :)
I was surprised at hour fun this was for such a small amount of experience! Dodging the enemy bullets and returning fire was quite enjoyable, though the ballista got me after I'd killed so many of its allies. Good job!
I struggled with this. The intro didn't play in my firefox (v43), but I got it to play with Chrome. Then I had a bad time with the jumping but I eventually made it. Good effort for making the webgl engine in 48 hours though!
Stunning pixel art, one of the visually most impressive entries I've seen. The gameplay style does not appeal to me alas, it feels like I'm having a stressful day at work :)
I loved loved loved the fan-for-a-face style, but it was super hard to control. That was until like aodq I realised I could swipe like a manic to shoot off the top of the screen and avoid everything :) great job!
Very very simple as others have said. Very easy to understand, but not super engaging
Alas I can't figure out how to run it on Ubuntu 14.04 :

Music is a great fit, and it's surprisingly polished, well done! The catapult looks and feels great, though as others I had some trouble with balls moving slowly causing a pause
Amazing stuff. It looks great, and the animation on the cats is spot on. I also really like the twist having the cats move adds to the traditional gameplay. Fantastic job!
The music is brilliant, great job there. The gameplay could do with being introduced more slowly, it seems to throw you in at the deep end and I always lose pretty quickly. The animations look great though, just a few tweaks away from being awesome
That was superb, one of the best entries ive tried. I think I finished the second puzzle but it didn't trigger, maybe I did it wrong. Great simple idea, but the controls were a bit finicky
@edve98 yes possibly, though I'm not sure exactly what. If you could let me know your Linux distro and version that would be great, then I can try and it fix it for my next game. Thanks
I really liked the music and the Egyptian theme. The room changing mechanic was disorienting, and without warning could kill me instantly which was annoying, especially if I was right at the end, but it was exciting too. My best score was 51 which is probably but there you go :)
Neat idea and fits the theme well, though I think the cooldown on the heart rate might be a bit quick, it might add a bit more pressure if it were slower. Great job overall though!
It certainly looks great, fantastic backgrounds. The money catching seemed to takes ages unless I was missing something. I spent two days getting 100$ together only to lose it gambling! Gaaaah. The hairstyles were cool though, if only I could afford them
The music is awesome, and it looks and feels great. Takes a little while to get used to the controls, but it's fluid and fun once you get the hang of it. The little evil guys are adorable :)
Making me start again from level 8 seems a bit harsh, but otherwise it was great. Good introduction of mechanics and quite fun
That was a great idea and was just lacking a bit of polish for the gamplay. With some additional clues and more accurate audio it could be great
Loved the game within a game idea, it's just a shame you didn't manage to finish. The visuals were very impressive too, though I'm not sure how much of that game with RPG maker
Wonderfal entry. Great art, cute animals, and mad rhymes :)
Hah nice funny entry. I played on android where it seemed to be possible to shoot as fast as I could tap, which it turns out is pretty fast! The weird balloon aliens were creepy
Really impressive amount of polish, great job. I don't agree that it was too slow, it gave it a weight that I enjoyed. The explosions and placeable turrets very particularly impressive, and the balance is great for 48 hours effort.
Amazing work, one of my favourite entries so far. I made a video review : https://youtu.be/3ny2uit39TU :)
Looks and sounds great, but I'm in agreement with most others it seems; too hard. The giant blob kills me every time :(
Utterly brilliant idea, and it looks good and sounds great. It's fairly complicated gameplay though, you may want to ease us into it a bit more
It's a really neat idea, and fits the theme very well. I agree with jramell on potential improvements, particularly sound. The room looked fantastic, particularly the 3d walls and the shading.
I really enjoyed this. The music was great, didn't become repetitive at all. The voice acting also fit very well, a kind of detached but interested air about it. Atmospheric and and the hand drawn art looked wonderful.
Love the music, love the animation on the star, and the gameplay is lots of fun, but why oh why did you make us start again from the first level each time! Very frustrating, otherwise a fantastic entry
The song was appropriately sad and haunting, having to call to nani every time was annoying which I suppose was the point. Nice job
It also works on Linux \o/. I liked the music and the concept, but I agree with the others regarding flaws, in particular if some randomized layouts are impassable it becomes about restarting until you get one that allows you to proceed further and less about skill. Great job overall though, especially on the music
Very well realised, quite addictive. Sometimes getting rid of the dark clouds seemed difficult though, and I think the difficulty could have ramped up slightly faster at the start, but great game overall
Very cool and unusual. I'm Looking forward to your blog post on how the transition was achieved. I agree with Local Minimum that this could be expanded upon by telling a story with the transitions, maybe with a little interaction in a few of the scenes, but it stands alone as is as a lovely little toy
The art is my favourite thing about this, the smiley faces on the planet and the alien are great, as is the "reading" pose for the alien. I got a bit confused at first and just roamed around collecting stars without realising that they could be used, and I ended up running out of fuel just by the second portal. I figured it out though and finished it, and thought it was quite satisfying. I very much liked the lack of combat
I liked the crazy concept of the little scrappy people living in a fishtank (and I *loved* the sounds they made!) I figured it out and became a god, but was a little confused about the feeding mechanism at first. The background for the tank looked great, and the music was a good choice, very catchy
Looooved the audio! The long drop was a cool surprise, and figuring out what was going on was also fun. Once I'd figured it out though it wasn't much of a challenge as I could start each stage again without penalty. Just a small tweak to require using the parts more than once (to reset a see-saw or something) in a given stage, and to have longer stages would make it more challenging I think. The colours are very striking and it's very impressive for 8 hours! Thanks for the video btw, I tried to make one for you but I'm on holiday and the recording didn't work on my laptop :(
Fantastic game, probably my favourite entry so far. The music is fast paced and appropriately bleep bloopy, the movement feels spot on, and it's a unique idea and gameplay mechanic that is both fun to play and easy to grasp. Great job!
Looks and sounds great, but the challenge was somewhat lacking. I was hoping for a bit more necessary conservation of pies and having to cause the gnomes to bunch up, but it was still fun. Great visuals
Oh this is such a nice simple idea executed very well, I love it. It does feel a little slow at the start, but it quickly gets very hectic and is extremely fun. Simple ideas that are fun to play are rare, so fantastic job!
Very funny and great music, delightfully strange. The first stage could use some power-ups for variety, but great job in such a short time!
Fantastic entry, so simple and yet addictively fun. Looks and sounds fantastic too, amazing job!
The effects mask the area very convincingly, and the gradual reveal of the surrounds works very well as a result. Superb mood, though the theme is not particularly apparent and I couldn't work out if there was something I should be doing or not
I was very impressed with the presentation and the slick interface and Tutorial. The idea is also very cool and original, although as implemented I don't think it's that much fun, it's always solvable and so with no time limit it's very simple. How about denying you the ability to shift people who are already connected but allowing you to restart, so at least order of connections is important? Still very impressive overall, and I'm also impressed with the small size and single Linux executable that worked out of the box!
I like the concept, and it's strangely relaxing, it would be cool if you kept working on it!
The visuals are amazing! I was very confused for most of the time which is mostly my fault for not reading the instructions, but I got the hang of it after a while. With a bit of polishing this could be amazing
This is great! I loved the music, and I found it quite zen just avoiding the blocks and the enemies. It wasn't until a block the width of the screen squished me that I realised I could smash them. Great fun
Thanks for that @momo-hunter , hopefully I've fixed that now!
This is my favourite game so far! Superb aesthetic, lovely well balanced gameplay that has you going up and down to expand and balance the new requirements. There was no sound on my Linux version, I'm not sure what went wrong there, sorry.
The pixel art and the colour palette were great, and the premise is unusual, but as others have said a checkpoint system would be nice. I felt like I was doing quite well then my dog fell to their death and I had to start again. It might also be wise to prevent the player getting too far without doggo. Good job though!
I made a video of your game: https://youtu.be/TIZssO3sqkk I enjoyed it, an FPS is very impressive, and it was a cool mechanic. The lighting was impressive too, really enhanced the mood
I enjoyed this very much, the music was great, and it was a quite addictive. I made a video of my playing it: https://youtu.be/DwZUNHAQkXs
This is fantastic! I almost quit as I couldn't figure out one level, but when I realised that killing an enemy kept me alive as well it clicked. It had the same feeling of the classic puzzle games of that elation when you figure something out, amazing job
This is a nice little game, the balance is well done and the simple nature of the things to control is easy to grasp but deep enough to be enjoyable! I did experience my buttons failing to work after a while but that might be something to do with running it through wine
This is a nice simple premise that's easy to grasp and quite fun, although it does make me feel like an idiot as I've always been bad at word puzzles.
Great theme and mood, the music and atmosphere were top notch (the helicopter sounds were a nice touch). For a game about a fire, it's important that it looks and sounds good, and it does! I eventually killed my fire, but I think I was getting the hang of it
I loved the art style, and the animations (particularly how the shrunk version lifts his arms up). The controls were a bit spongy, and it could certainly use some polish as others have said, but great job overall.
The art is wonderful, and I enjoyed being berated by a space T-rex, though like others I did struggle and eventually died, probably because I didn't figure out how to make fertilizer
I made a video of playing: https://youtu.be/yk93lfxspmE, it was fun! The invincibility mechanic might be a bit strong now though.
The fisherman looks great, I love the way his cap flaps. I think you could punch up the throwing mechanics a bit though. Good work overall, I enjoyed it
It's got a great aesthetic, with the grey consoles and appropriately bloopy music reminding me of some kind of 80s retro-futurism. As others have said though it's very confusing and requires waiting a long time for things to change, but it's a great start!
I really liked the look of the game, and some of the polish around the camera position was very nice. I did rather feel powerless though as the first time I played it I didn't encounter any water and the flower died due to no fault of my own. I replayed it and got to the end though and it was good fun, so well done.
The graphics and sounds are glorious! It's also nice and simple and self-contained. It did take me a while to realise I was building the burgers backwards though, surely I should start at the bottom and add things? Or at least assemble it upside-down. Amazing entry though
I also had a bug once where no more enemies spawned, however for the must part it went smoothly. It's a nice balance between shooting the enemies and trying to notice when your tile falls apart, good work!
Thanks @krisztian that was super helpful for reproducing the bug!
I especially liked the "Switch? Switch!" sound effect, and the mechanic is quite clever. That the segway riders jump after the leader looks funny
The light gradually dimming around yourself was very atmospheric. I got a bit stuck on the third level, but I enjoyed myself getting there
The mechanics were a little difficult to understand at first, but once I got the hang of it I liked it. The visuals look good, and the rotating rockets and cannons and items are impressive
Hugely impressive! The puzzles were solvable and the concepts introduced smoothly (although the message about switching robots when you only have 1 was confusing). It looks great and the menu music is also wonderful
I made it 3:56. The game is absolutely brilliant, such a simple idea that so perfectly fits the theme. It's relaxing and stressful at the same time, and executed perfectly. The best game I've played so far!
This game is quite accessible, though it could use a little more depth. It looks cute and the design is clear and visually appealing, and is actually quite fun to play. I think a little more clarity in terms of fighting damage would help, it happens a little fast, but otherwise it's great, well done
That boss is super mean! I enjoyed this more than I expected from the description, and the animations for using the vending machine, writing a report and using the water cooler were great. Good job!
A delectable fever dream. The rhymes don't quite scan evoking humanity's ultimate inability to understand the cosmos, and the inexplicable animosity of the two ice-cream lovers is a poignant commentary on the nature of war. Bravo!
That was very impressive! The tutorial and mechanics were very slick, and it the gameplay was seamless, if a little dull after a while. The sound effects are nice, and I liked the animation of the main character, their over-the-top leg wheeling was amusing :)
Impressively creepy. The feel of seeing something, then turning the light on and looking back to find it not there is not easy to achieve but it works very well here. I didn't totally take in the instructions the first time so it would be nice if there were a help menu or something
As others have said, both the graphics and the music are top notch. The walking animation on the main character, and the wizard's eyes following the items are brilliant! I only managed to get things in the cauldron by firing from directly beneath though, it might be too easy from down there
This might be the best fit for the theme, Dilley the Inevitable, genius! The cut-scenes made me laugh, and the music was good too, though moving in order to time the shots was a bit tricky. Very impressive!
Cute graphics, tight controls and a enjoyable mechanics all come together for a really solid entry. Checkpoints would have been nice though as mentioned, I rage-quit after falling in a whole
I thought it was beautiful, the dark colours contrasted very well with the red blood. The attacking animation also looks great, but it was very difficult. The wolves seemed to almost always do more damage than I got for killing them, so I ended up running around looking for bunnies instead. I managed 94 that way
It's beautiful, the music is nice and chilled out, and the movements have a nice fluidity to them. It is very difficult, especially when you get a really fast ghost. Great job overall
Wow that was very impressive! I think I got lucky with the map puzzle by clicking around, but the stone tablets were cool and the ending was creepy. Great job!
I love any game with voice acting, and it was perfect in this one. The zombie pickles look especially good, and it's quite satisfying to blast them. Good work!
I loved the out-of-focus aesthetic, and being able to push around the parts of my discarded enemies. The invisible walls were annoying though
Great entry. The tutorial is excellent, the art style endearing, and the music catchy. The game loop is fun, though the first time I played it I skipped the tutorial and didn't realise I could rotate blocks and so filled it quicker and sent out more trucks, which meant I got a higher score than doing actually trying to fill the trucks
I feel a bit sorry for the population of these planets, getting only a single pizza between all of them :)
I loved the aesthetics, and the idea of throwing pizza slices at the enemies is genius
That was quite impressive. The scenes were basic but functional, and they conveyed the mood very well. Getting them all done in 48 hours is an achievement in itself. The mood was great, I was nervous about going into the basement!
Wow this looks and sounds great! The boss character is very well drawn, and the music is fantastic and easy to bop along to while playing. The game itself is super hard! I'm not sure if I was missing a trick or just being rubbish but it took me quite a few tries to get each level, and it felt a bit random when I did.
It took me a few turns to understand the rules completely, but once I did I found it to be quite fun and a very interesting mechanic. The presentation is also delightful, the music was pleasant, and I appreciated the pencil sounds.
I had quite an interesting final round where I needed a pizza to progress and only had one row left, so it was re-roll until pizza or clock and it was quite tense! Very well done, I may take inspiration from this for future entries
This was fun. I appreciated the descriptions of each job and how they matched the cargo. navigating back was a little dull though, maybe you could spice it up with some sort of fuel mechanic or something. I quite enjoyed it though, and thank you for putting in the button to turn off the music. While it was perfectly fine, it was a little annoying by job four!
It looks great, and is super cute. The music is very calming, and I like the floating instructions. I liked the mechanic too, and I carefully built my plant staircase toward the floating checkpoint. Then I fell off at the final jump and rage-quit I'm afraid. It may be less punishing if you could survive a fall, at the start at least, and perhaps harvest your plants
I really like the basic mechanic here, and it makes for quite a fun gameplay loop. I did glitch my way through a wall at one point, and another I couldn't release the package I was holding (but I managed to get rid of it by fobbing off a customer), but I liked it overall
My favourite part of this was the cute pixel-art buildings. Well done!
The backdrops looked great! Sometimes it was a little difficult to figure out where a click would send me, perhaps a different cursor or some cursor text would help
This was a solid effort! The minimalist style of the city was appealing, as was the music. The core gameplay isn't really sufficient to sustain 10 deliveries I don't think without something else going on. I'd also like to see a bit more variability in the physics; at the minute terminal velocity is reached very quickly which means there isn't much risk and no way to really speed up deliveries with risky manoeuvres
The map looks amazing, all the tile types are perfect and they go together great. I got a bit stuck trying to deliver a package to the King of Southampton after he just gave me a job, he kept telling me to get on with it. It almost made me want to not deliver his package!
Hilarous and silly game that is really fun. I loved how the engine sounds complimented the music
Oh wow this was super difficult! I managed to deliver two packages which is probably as good as I'm going to get. Perhaps colliding with a wall could give us some damage rather than game-over?
This was fun, and waiting for the orbits to align to reduce fuel cost is a really neat idea. I also liked the information about each of the celestial bodies
I didn't manage to run this, it complains about a lack of unityplayer, and if I throw it in another unity game's directory it complains that it is missing "LudumDare53_Delivery_Data"
The worm looks great, it's a really good effect however you did that. I did one separate my head from my body when moving around an obstacle and was worried, but luckily my body caught up to me. Nice job
At first I thought this was impossibly difficult, but once I got the hang of the controls it turned out to be manageable and quite fun. The main challenge was getting between the planets fast enough to not smash straight into them. Good job!
This game was fantastic. It's such a snappy, beautiful design and it's incredibly fun. I thought at first that the speed of the movement and the any-order delivery would remove any challenge, but the design of the levels really makes you think, absolutely brilliant.
That said though, it looks like you didn't create all the assets yourself in 48 hours, so I don't think this is eligible as a compo submission if I understand the rules correctly. It would be a fantastic JAM entry though.
This was very cute. I have to confess I didn't recognise the lower two characters, but I appreciated the animation on the other two, that must have been a lot of work. The theme was clearly evident too, even though there didn't end up being much game to it it's a promising start! I tried to cheat and work out who the characters were from the source but I didn't much in there, did you miss a file perhaps?
I like the social commentary. You win the game by saying whatever gets people most fired up! That said the gameplay is a little dull. If you let me forcibly eject the white supremacists I'd be much happier!
The soft shading is beautiful. On my 5120x1440 screen the view is extremely zoomed in, but it looks great if I crane my neck backwards. In addition to what others have said, the colour-based gameplay may not be accessible to all; all the houses and boxes appeared to be the same colour to me.
I enjoyed this quite a lot. The theme is excellent, it looks beautiful, and bonus points for pygame! I also ran into the problem with dense node clusters, but my third map was interesting and I hung out on it for quite a while. Good job!
