K, after a while the game started to load, and I actually got to play the game which is kinda cool, actually.
Hehe, for some reason this game reminds me of flappy bird. The game is overall very polished but it seems to lack something that makes addictive gameplay, not sure what exactly is missing.
k, the second map is a bit slow, even when fast forwarding, but the first one is kinda playable.
when running "make" i get this error:
python skeleton.py
/usr/bin/python: can't open file 'skeleton.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
Makefile:2: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2
ls
Makefile game_view.py petscii.png tiles_atlas.txt
drawing globals resource tiles_atlas_0.png
fullsteam.py modes.py sounds.py ui.py
Im on Funtoo Linux
k, the game is somewhat creepy and cryptic. I didn't get the joke with the dog being dragged, or the jet engine pointing forward. The intro music is a bit spooky too. You guys have some weird sense of humor, but overall the game is playable.
Nice gameplay, very smooth kind of a tower defence.
Very fun game, but the controls are kind of awkward, hard to get used to. Too many buttons, in my opinion. I would reduce it to just "Jump" and "boost". Overall - very playable, and a very funny character.
Haven't heard about Construct 2. Nice work!
Quite playable. Something similar could probably work for learning Chinese...
It works in Wine on Linux! Way to go!
K, I guess you played without sound, or skipped the intro. The glitch appeared late into the game engine development, which took me a bit longer than I expected, so I had to cut down on level development, eventually made only one silly map, which is kinda sad...
It's an overwhelming experience for me right now, but next time I will consider control issues more seriously. I tested it in Chrome and Firefox, scored the goals, but apparently this is not enough for the wide audience...
K, I listened to all of your requests, re-read the rules, and they say: "We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players." So, basically I only applied changes to the controls without touching anything else. The controls are now smooth and you can actually control your jump speed now.
Please understand that this is a whole 3d game engine with physics, collisions, map file structure, geometry loading, webgl and webaudio interface to worry about, so I had no time to fix all the glitches, or even make a decent game map. I apologize for these inconveniences. This is a lot of work as is, trust me. (And yes, that soundtrack recording and mastering was also done by me, with some initial technical difficulties.) I took it easy on Monday, and still am exhausted.
omg this game has some intense action
It works in chromium version 47 in 64-bit Linux, at least. Yea the music gets kinda annoying after a while, but overall the game is quite playable.
A weird indeed. Especially the political themes...
Great start: simple yet engaging...
Weird sounds, and I could not figure out how to slow down, all gears no matter size seem to be giving same rate of beats :-(
oh, k I just missed the point that they can be stacked. Nice!
Great challenging game overall. I'm in Linux using Chromium v47, and it's working without glitches.
The game is quite playable. Keep up the good work!
K, but will it run in Linux? What platforms it is written for?
Tough challenge. Also movement is a bit slow for my taste.
How do I run it? I get that LD36.jar, so what do i do with it?
Omg, yea, Bollywood, lol. It seems to me that goal is not clearly defined in this game. The alien ships are just increasing in numbers and it seems that no matter how many you destroy there is no way to win...
A quite playable game, but the shooting angle control seems to be not very intuitive.
Very good start. I hope you will continue working on it!
Haha, reminds me of the old SimSity where Godzilla attacks. Or whatever is was, I can't remember lol.
The beginning was easy because of sequential switching, but then when random switching is required the difficulty suddenly increases, and then after a fall, i wish I had a shortcut to get to the difficult part without going a mile on totally easy sequential terrain.
Running in Linux, Chromium v.47: can't see the enemy. The web version of this game is unplayable on my platform for that reason...
Cute game, very finished look. The graphics is amazing, it reminds me Caesar IV game.
great game! +1 for Godot, and it does work in Opera browser. too bad we can't rate the art and music
Indeed, I will see if I can add some gameplay by the Jam's deadline...
K, this is now the Jam version, with some gameplay: you can build houses, plant trees. Take a note though, that while trees give food, they also consume lots of water.
@pedromgdo @diaonic @ixchow @justuspan @geoff-nagy @rolly I did add some gameplay, not too much, but still...
@eog Haha, have your fun while you can! Demo version allows the water storage to go negative, but the paid version will not have this luxury!
@taophoenix Yes, that is all there is to it. It's my first attempt at trying to make a city builder. Of course, I was inspired by CimCity and Caesar4, and I kinda knew that balancing the economy will take months for sure. But in the process, I learned a lot about limitations of Godot3.1 engine, and how much time it takes to come up with a basic UI. Besides, it's the first time I wrote my own music for game! So, in the end this is a priceless experience! People enroll in workshops, take university courses, pay thousands of dollars to dive into a creative tide. But this competition gives you all that for free! Minus some lectures, but Youtube is full of lectures! You just need to believe in yourself and give it a try. I'm very excited about the process, even if the result does not look like much: what I learned in the process is what counts for me the most. And, of course, the fabulous reviews and suggestions from this fantastic community of fine developers, which is absolutely priceless!
Long Live Ludum Dare!
P.S.: Thanks a lot for "crisp graphics"! I certainly didn't expect to hear that.
Solid game overall. I finished it, but it's hard to tell whether I explored everything. Maybe it's just me... Very nice work! Keep it up!
a very solid gameplay. great stuff!
the cat minion is adorable!
this game is way too difficult for me, but overall looks fun
You could as well clone a PUBG game - there too, you start with nothing... But overall, fun stuff!
Great stuff, fun game, just there is a bug after game is lost, the soundtrack layers on top of previous one so the two sound at the same time
Great game, but the font is killing my eyes. I still didn't get what the water droplets are all about. But great fun overall!
It worked on my Arch Linux machine, but I could not wrap my head around the game rules...
Great stuff! Too easy!
segfaults in Linux 64. What game engine is that?
great stuff! Quite playable! Level 4 was tough on me...
Greetings! Thanks a lot for the review! It took me a whole day to fix the jerky movement experience in client. It now runs smooth, so please give it a second chance. Gl hf!
Greetings, Los!
Thanks a lot for testing!
That other player was me, still playtesting and fixing bugs 3 days after event. Right when you finished the game the server crashed, so I had to put that bug on my to-do list as well...
I did notice that the bigger maps get way too complicated for human brain to handle. So I came up with an idea to let the people put a mark on the floor, that will stay even when the player loops. While another player is within your field of view, you will also see his/her marks. That's one way to communicate. What do you think?
Adil: could you please be more specific about fixes and improvements? I think it's way too obvious that any gamejam entry needs fixes and improvements, especially if you're a one man team. I'm literally exhausted at this moment. You can see from my previous game entries, that each time I'm trying something new, I'm not doing same game genre over and over.
Best regards and good luck with your game!
1. Yes, I wanted to make "character creation" page, but without login system it's not worth the effort. 2. They are not ghosts, they are glowing players. Once you find exit you start glowing until you find it again. Some people start calling them "divine". Lol!
Thanks a lot for playing and reviewing, @zathnic! I was afk for a while, but I saw your "HI ---" message when I came back.
@Doot indeed, I wanted to add more variety to map generation, but haven't had time for that left.
Great little racer. This reminds me of Rhino the hamster from Bolt 2008 movie...
I cought him like 5 times. Is there anything else to this game? Nice graphics. The far background layer moves jaggedly - a bug?
I found the treasure chest, but have no idea what to do with it...
to whoever came up with "Esc" joke: that joke was not funny. --rating.humor
Great little game. Controls are a bit awkward: having to press Enter, then Space is a bit strange. Why not just space for both "use" and "exit"?
weird thing: I could not move the button with the mouse. Chromium browser in Linux
great stuff, works in Linux.
a bit weird, but unlike some other games it's simple and playable.
Great idea, just maybe more convenient input would be nice.
This game is way too complicated for me :-)
nice little platformer, but the sound effects are a bit annoying. Do something about them pls :-)
The game is really fun! Too bad there is only one level :-(
Great game overall. What annoys me is how easy it is to unintentionally dig an extra square.
Very impressive for the first game! Keep up the good work!
great stuff!
Great stuff! Controls are a bit complicated. But overall great game with lots of content.
You know, you can still fix control issues after sumbitting the game. Of course, only after a good night sleep...
Neat branching trick.
Nice little platformer, but where is the theme and audio? Did I miss something?
Weird game, but it has funny sound effects
A totally playable game, needs better graphics and a more convenient action selection mechanism.
The game is playable, good try!
Blending tetris and 4-in-a-row surely works!
It's certainly playable, and the graphics is nice. The music is too repetitive and gets really annoying after a while. But overall it's a good try. I know, two days, no team - it's tough.
it's good but sometimes there is not enough time to use all the unneeded cards...
Great game!
