Hey I just tested your game !

I liked the basic principle of the game, explore the map step by step, meet characters at each place, fighting on the way, it's really cool ! Managing your team is cool, as some paths are only accessible to a certain number of team members. I find it ambitious to make a story driven game for a game jam.

These are the things I would change : - The combat system is very simplistic but it's normal (it works anyway), but I'm sure you already have ideas to make it more strategic. - We see that some sprites are stretched (monsters in combat, life bars). - There are no sounds (but there is music and that's cool) - When my team is complete, I am can still accept other characters, I thought I could take more than 6 but not finally. - I did not understand the end, I guess I sacrificed myself? And that I sacrificed the others before for that? How? I'm not sure I got the end, maybe just 2 more lines of text to explain a little better could have been good?

In any case the game is really nice, you have a good prototype from which to make a very cool game, I encourage you to continue!

Super neat game here ! I really love the gamejam entry that are so much polished like yours ! There is everything in my opinion : graphics, devlopment, game design, music, sound. The game is simple but strategic, addictive, there is good feedbacks (graphic and sound) in game.

The (really) little things I would change are : - Make a brighter background than this dark grey color - Use another font that fits better the flat design you used - Make a better end screen with your score and your opponent score.

And you can put it on the stores (you can already). Bravo !

Le jeu est sympa !

Le systÚme de combat est intéressant, juste à bien l'équilibrer (évidemment là c'est normal qu'il ne soit pas équilibré).

Ma premiÚre remarque aurait été de vouloir voir les dégùts infligés par chaque items, mais aprÚs ça apporte une notion d'apprentissage, genre quel item sert à quoi, quel est le plus fort etc, je ne sais pas si c'est une volonté ou pas. Parce que si le but est d'avoir une sorte de notions d'essais des items et tout ça serait bien d'avoir la vie des ennemis affichées plus longtemps, ou alors tout le temps pour pouvoir mieux deviner les dégùts que font nos objets (c'est une juste suggestion si vous voulez exploiter votre concept dans ce sens).

Il y a pas beaucoup de production : des ennemis différents, des objets différents, des décors différents, des musiques différentes, avec mention spéciale pour l'animation de la derniÚre créature, vraiment cool !

Pas certain de l'aberration chromatique sur le bas de l'Ă©cran par contre ! peut-ĂȘtre pour le dernier monde mais au dĂ©but ça fait bizarre, un peu hors sujet.

Mais sinon trĂšs cool :)

A lot of things have been said with the others feedback ! Your concept is good !

Even with the tutorial I didn't understand some basic things, like the fact that you can pressed you key again to gain your abilitie back, it's important in my opinion. Sometime I get lost between the key to know if I pressed them or not, to solve these 2 problems you could have the keys in the UI that indicate if they're pressed or not.

The triple-jump feature feels a bit weird, maybe only one but better calibrated jump could have been better.

Last thing,I think you shouldn't make a level were you can insta-die at the spawnpoint x)

As suggested before, I think the idea of the game would fit perfectly in a puzzle game, and you should maybe work in this way, because your idea is good !

Good game, really complete ! There is a lot of good things in this ! The puzzles are well thought, there is voice acting, sounds, FX, a story, and more !

I think the thing that could be better is the lisibility, mainly of the items I can interact with. We feel a little lack in terms of (game and graphic) design at this level. There is too much information at the same level : The background (the wall tile), the background with the machines, the plateforme, the UI+ the text. You need to prioritize the elements visibility according to their importance, to establish graphic codes.

I felt a little lost during the game because of all the informations i had at te same time. It's important to let the player eye's rest !

Beside that the game is cool of course, good job to the 10 of you !

Super jeu ! Juste l'idĂ©e de base est super, le jeu marche y a une bonne boucle de gameplay, franchement il est super prenant ! La musique prend un peu la tĂȘte au bout d'un moment mais au moins il y en a une, elle est plutĂŽt cool. Le concept de base est lĂ  et il demande qu'Ă  ĂȘtre amĂ©liorĂ© ! Il y a un bon Ă©quilibre entre les ressources je trouve (j'ai pas trouvĂ© le jeu si dur contrairement Ă  mes vdd) pour moi ça manque un peu de polish niveau graphisme : faire des interfaces bien lisibles, bien claires (surtout qu'on a peu de temps pour les consulter)(par exemple enlever la ligne de la range puisqu'il y a dĂ©jĂ  le cercle trĂšs pratique qui permet de le visualiser rapidement), un peu plus de variations sur la map, ça peut ĂȘtre fait trĂšs simplement : ne pas orienter tous les arbres vers le mĂȘme point, remplir les bords du terrain d'arbre plus gros pour donner l'impression d'une grande forĂȘt (lĂ  on Ă  l'impression d'ĂȘtre posĂ© au milieu d'un grand plateau vide si on dĂ©zoomait).

VoilĂ  en tout cas globalement c'est trĂšs cool :)

Je pense qu'il manque un peu d'Ă©quilibrage personnellement, surtout au niveau de la vie des ennemis qui est gigantesque ! ComparĂ© Ă  nos faibles dĂ©gĂąts, on se retrouve Ă  spammer le clic Ă  fond ! Il serait peut-ĂȘtre plus intĂ©ressant de rĂ©duire un peu le rate de l'arme et de rĂ©duire la vie des ennemis pour rendre le systĂšme de combat un peu plus intĂ©ressant ? D'autant plus qu'avec le son (des chauves-souris par exemple) qui se rĂ©pĂšte Ă  chaque fois qu'on la touche, Ă  environ 5hit/sec ça fait un peu mal aux oreilles. L'approche du thĂšme est sympa aussi, et je pense qu'il y a moyen de l'exploiter encore plus ! D'ailleurs j'ai toujours sacrifiĂ© les sons (je n'ai pas vu de changements ?) puis le poids (je n'ai pas vu beaucoup de changement non plus ?) et aprĂšs oui certainement des choses comme le passage avec les statues qui requiert un sacrifice particulier (il faudrait juste que la demande soit un peu plus Ă©vidente je pense).

Je dis tout ça sans ĂȘtre nĂ©gatif vraiment ! Le jeu est vraiment sympa, il y a une belle attention aux dĂ©tails ça se voit, les animations, avec les particules Ă  la mort des mobs, les sons, la musique, l'affichage des dĂ©gĂąts, l'Ă©cran de chargement (!), les diffĂ©rents ennemis, les diffĂ©rents piĂšges, etc,

The game is really cool, There is some really good ideas (I like this dezoom-map feature )! The concept of the game is good, remind me a mix of Minit and Half-Minute Hero ! It's a good approach of the theme. You have a good prototype from which to work.

Maybe you need to work on the coherence of the island and the environment a bit.

There is a bit of variety in the assets, little animations and little FX, there is sound, you can win and loose, the game is pretty complete !

@bastilo I think that's not reallythe point of the game. If you take off the time feature it would take away the originality of the concept

@robowarrior1982 Merci beaucoup ! Oui un des 2 problÚmes que j'aimerais régler actuellement c'est faire un support pour plusieurs résolutions, enfin mieux gérer ça. Pour les ennemis je voulais faire une feature qui permettait d'avoir des balles plus fortes qui les tuaient en un seul coup ! AprÚs est ce que tu as essayé d'activer les Ammo ? Parce que sinon tu as une seule balle avant de recharger et effectivement c'est trÚs dur de tuer les ennemis, mais si tu actives Ammo tu as 15 munitions avant de recharger et ça permet de spammer un peu. Et trop encombré dans quel sens, visuellement ? Merci de tous tes retours en tout cas :)

@taco360 - For Art and sound, that's the point of the theme for me : do you want to put point in things that don't actually impact the gameplay but make the game better or not ? Sacrifice Must be Made. But your opinion is very interresting, I'll think about it. - Sorry for the controls, I'll add QWERTY controls. [Edit : it's fixed !] - No it's not intentionnal I'll try to fix this ! (I fixed major bugs like : "Unselecting features in the main menu didn’t refund the points under certain circumstances"). [Edit : it's fixed too !]

Someone gave me the idea that the different capacities could not listen to the same number of points depending on whether they are important or not : the movements would cost 3 points and the sound and art 1 point for example (with more starting points). Or that we could add penalties to get more points.

@ente - I haven't even thought of a counter ! But it should be pretty easy to do indeed, thanks ! - Yes the game is not balanced at all there is safe point on the map were you can kill a lots of enemies without being hit. There is not real AI since I didn't have time to dev one, I just make the ennemy move and jump.

@vinay-rao You're totaly right, with only 1 ammo the game is really .. mmh... annoying (?). And the level design of the arena isn't really interesting, there is several safe areas indeed. Thank a lot for testing my prototype and leaving feedbacks !

@erkberg Thank you ! The features are not really well balanced. The game would need a level and game design rework. No the score fix was something else, someone else suggest a score ingame, I dont know why I didn't think of it during the jam. Thank again :)

The game is pretty good :)

There are some problems but they have already been told : - You can slash only in your movement direction - I thought I could destroy the turrets (readability problem) - The statue seems to be upgrade - Music and sounds are not well balanced (volume) I think that if you want to continue the development you'll need to rethink a bit the game design of the sacrifice part to make it interesting to sacrifice abilities in a system where it's not just harder or more frustating.

But beside that the game is very complete with really good art, FX and feedback, music and sound !

You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players.

Really solid entry ! Great game! I had a bit of trouble understanding it at first but once I did I couldn't stop playing! The game is very addictive. The graphics are simple but the whole thing is very coherent, everything flows smoothly. A little music would have been a great bonus but I know it's very hard in Compo to make a music ! It reminded me of the flash games era, really cool.

I really liked the smooth controls, they are very pleasant. The atmosphere is good too, the music fits the mood well. I also really liked the fact that you can't lose, I think it makes the game very enjoyable ! If I had to make a feedback it would be on the impact with the rocks: there could be a small vfx (sparks from the ship or some bits of the rock that fly for example) with a small sound at the same time. In any case the game is nice !

The game is quite hard at times but still doable, the level design is well done too ! My only regret is that when you are on the ground, you can't aim without moving forward at the same time, it makes some situations tricky. But great game overall !

@pixelipy Thank you Pixelipy for the feedbacks ! There is one level for now. We made this choice to be able to fully polish it ! So it is also hand designed to have maximum control over the experience. If we were to work on it again we would do a procedural generation system, and infinite/finite levels as you suggest I think ! I started to make the itch.io page but I didn't have the time to finish it yet nor to make and test the webGL build but it's in progress anyway (I didn't know I had to create a drive account to be able to use it, sorry about that). Indeed, even if there was research, integration, retouching and mixing work on the sounds and music, we didn't do it ourselves and it would be unfair to be graded on that compared to other teams who would have done it themselves in the jam ! And it's done , __the Audio voting category has been removed from our rating !__ - We take note of your different feedbacks on the punch that doesn't always seem right! The game is really cool! I've seen this type of drawing mechanic before but it's very well included in the design and theme. I also love the detail of the blood drops on the wall (by the way a priest drawing pentacles with blood?). The game is quite hard but I finished it! I just found it weird that the hands coming out of the top of the elevator are indicated in the same way as the one at the bottom, even though they can't catch us. Very solid compo participation!

The idea is really nice, you can easily imagine other mini games that could go in it. It's quite hard at the moment but I could see the two endings! The game is well finished from start to finish. Cool short experience overall

I'd like to point out that if you didn't do the graphics and audio yourself during the jam (which is ok) it says in the rules that you should opt-out from those voting categories. You can ask the jam organizer by email to do so (that's what we did for the Audio category of our game).

The game is very nice ! I think it's ambitious to have made a metroidvania and you did it well ! I'll start with the small negative points: - I find the realistic gun sound a bit weird in the universe - I find the realistic backgrounds a bit weird too compared to the rest which is cartoon, the background with the stars is a bit too bright, the stars should be less clear because the background is more contrasted than the game plan. - There is a small bug: when you take gems in a zone, the score restarts from 0. - There are a few apparent lines due to the sprites I think. These are really minor things actually.

There are a looot of good things: the controls are nice, there are several types of enemies, there are cool abilities to find, there is a storyline. I like the squishy character and enemy animations and I really like all the feedback and VFX. The music adds a lot to the atmosphere. In short, the game is super complete with a lot of content and without bugs, top! 👌

The atmosphere of the game doesn't make me feel comfortable but beyond that the game is rather pleasant to play, with procedural generation, no bugs. The intro is a cool bonus.

Maybe being able to dig on the right and left could be practical: in some cases there is a power up at the very bottom of a digging area and you can't know it until you get to the bottom, when it's too late to change your trajectory to take it :)
