...I'm speechless. This is absolutely incredible. Top marks in every category. Perhaps the best compliment I can give you is that I delete most games after I've tried them out and given a rating. I won't be deleting this one.

apaphy 2021-04-26 23:21

this game is amazing. fantastic art, voice acting, music, and funny. gameplay was easy to grasp, but i never made it to the end (i think im just bad). great game regardless

joselor 2021-04-26 23:32

The game is just completely incredible : if i were to play it without knowing it was for a gamejam, i would assume it was the work of several people for several months. The graphics are simply beautiful, the possibilities are endless, the music fits the game so well, and it's one of the only games that have some fun humor ( especially the french accent ^^ ). Also the fact that you can save your game with a png file and show it to other people is just incredible, one of the best games i've played in this jam

rubentipparach 2021-04-27 07:01

This is such a lovely game! Everything was amazing, from the voice acting to music, artwork, and story! I'm glad I stumbled upon this from your comment on my game! Haha

dhim 2021-04-27 07:22

It seems amazing, is there anyway to have a mac version ?

lepoulet 2021-04-27 07:29

I'll try to publish a webgl version on the itch.io page

laura-olkhovskaya 2021-04-27 08:27

The graphics and the game are just amazing and complite! Its amazing that you make a story, a music, even add voiceovers! I am delighted, thank you for your work.

vrogar 2021-04-27 09:18

The game was stunning ! Great work !

hyblis 2021-04-27 09:24

I really wanted to found Eden and I succeded after 2 attempts! Very very good game, arts, musics, voice, caracter, all is great !

valden 2021-04-27 12:15

Incredible game. I absolutely loved the creativity of all the different planets and the cute lore associated with them. The presentation is top notch and the game has a very soothing mood. One of the best jam game I played in a long time, congrats !

tevasliutauras 2021-04-27 12:22

Wow, really looks like game thats ready for release. I always try to find something to critique in my replies, but honestly, got nothing for you guys, good job!

anthonyharmitage 2021-04-27 12:41

This is great, really waiting for webgl version to check updates frequently)

leorid 2021-04-27 13:17

What a great entry, visually stunning, first time I experienced (seemingly) professional voice acting in a jam game. How did you write all those text, make all those graphics plus the code in just 3 days? ^^

arivenzys 2021-04-27 13:34

@leorid Thank you ! It was essentially teamwork and task management :)

ellieraev 2021-04-27 14:08

Super charming game! The Illustrations are amazing and I love the voice acting, it adds a lot I also think getting a print of your journey once you reach Eden was a neat idea

staber 2021-04-27 14:11

This is amazing. One of the best games I've played so far. Good job I love it

lepoulet 2021-04-27 15:08

Ok, the webgl version is online. exactly the same version as the windows one, but in browser. fullscreen is highly recommanded.

davision 2021-04-27 16:33

Very cool, the art style is lovely and the planets are very creative! Just the gameplay was not particular interesting to me

dzefris 2021-04-27 16:41

Pro: Narration, music and graphics is awesome!

Cons: Transitions could be improved. :)

dominikscholz 2021-04-27 16:45

Nice game! Managed to find Eden on the second try. Gets a great vibe across and is overall perfectly polished, hope to see it in steam one day! :D

ilyas-aqil 2021-04-27 16:46

Amazing idea, the variety of planets really enhances the replay value; I can honestly say that this is the first game of Ludum Dare that made me go "Wow that was amazing, I want to try it again and see what else there is!"

The humour works very well too, the astronaut has a lot of personality (and a great accent). The art is very charming and works so well together. This is definitely one of my top games of LD48

rose 2021-04-27 16:50

Great game! The game mechanic of fitting certain pieces of data into a limited space was interesting, and the overall polish is amazing. I was surprised to get a worse ending when I didn't find Eden than when I did, but now I understand that you have to maximize Hope _and_ try to reach Eden. I'll have to keep playing to try to do better.

olddog 2021-04-27 18:21

big broject ,nice graphic!!but fells a little complex for me LOL

okolyr 2021-04-27 18:46

Truthfully, at first the voice acting irritated me a little, but it REALLY grew on me, your french accent is amazing and I hope you continue doing it. This will sound cliche but I truly do not have another word for it, but this game was beautiful. I especially love the OST during the planet that looks similar to earth but has holes in it, the calm soundtrack is fantastic and I have nothing but praise for it. Moving on the graphics, it was amazing as well, from the expressions to the drawn planets to the UI, I can't believe you guys had enough time for all this!! The intricately crafted descriptions for each node was another fantastic touch as well. I know that I'm throwing out these words like they don't mean anything, but I really mean it, great work.

jordan-ottesen 2021-04-27 18:47

Gorgeous game. I was entranced by the artwork every step of the way. Very good use of theme and blend of point and click adventure and story game mechanics. It looks like you know your strengths and you play to them well. Phenomenal entry. Also, this planet was just so cool:Space Game.JPG

seanlim 2021-04-27 18:51

Wow, very impressive! Loved the whole direction of the game from art to sound design to narration! Had to replay a few times to finally reach Eden and it was cool learning more and more after each run.

the-neon-shark 2021-04-27 18:55

Really enjoy this piece. The art and voice acting are exceptional! The one issue I had with the game is the sensation of consequences. I felt as though I had lots and lots of choices, but I wasn't sure what they were amounting to! I ultimately could just drag and drop random squares to my log and seemingly continue all the way to Eden. Having a more clear set of player milestones and challenges along the journey would help resolve this (assuming that's something you think the gameplay should have).

bangkerpow 2021-04-27 18:56

The art steals the show here. The card mechanic was a interesting to play with.

remusnomos 2021-04-27 19:02

It's such a great idea. And the voiceover...loved it :D The ideas for the planets are so creative and different, it is truly a piece of art.

themoonrise 2021-04-27 19:07

What an amazing experience. This really is special. I love the voiceover, the soundrack and the creative planet designs. Well done!

enra 2021-04-27 19:11

Incredible project with charming graphics, good narration, and gorgeous sound design and musics ! Really soothing experience tho. I love the theme. You guys did a great job ! Mention spéciale au doubleur qui, grâce à son jeu d'acteur fabuleux, a grandement contribué à donner vie à ce chef-d'oeuvre...

tomatolamp 2021-04-27 19:37

Agree with everything said, a fantastic entry!

james-kusardi 2021-04-27 19:40

everything about this experience was fantastic! with more i could see this being a reaaally cool product, the voice acting especially kept me immersed. i did have an issue where if i skipped the first planet i couldn't get anything, but i loved this so much!!

pierre-cilluffo 2021-04-27 19:41

I really like the voice, it changes from a simple bip for the text x)

A little disappointed that the ends is not doubled either :/

dazrow 2021-04-27 19:42

Stunning visuals and gameplay is really captivating! I was amazed by sounds and voiceovers. For a gamejam so much work? That's absolutely mindblowing Well done guys and best of luck! I'd apreciate if you could also check out our puzzle game "Deep Sweep", it's not as gorgeous as yours though, but could capture one's attention too hehe

carolinewang 2021-04-27 19:46

this game is so pretty! the pastel colors and the nice twist on the theme make this game a really nice experience. nice job :)

asiyeap 2021-04-27 19:49

OMG uı designs, splash art amazing, gj ! 😎

guillaumecarle 2021-04-27 20:03

Wow the game get a stunning art and smooth UI, but god damn PADG for the voice acting im so jalouse<3 Great job ! (if you need more stars for your back ground take mine from the ratings)

thob 2021-04-27 20:28

It's been said many times but the game is incredible. Great atmosphere, great music and graphics, great design and everything flows smoothly. Plus dubbed by PADG, and not just a little! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that! And I reach Eden ! Awesome

luc-creationallabs 2021-04-27 20:30

Honestly, give the voice actor a raise haha, having a voice actor in the project is so OP, this is a fantastic work, great art, sound, music, mood, but I think it lacks in the gameplay aspect, the mechanic's seams to be a second thought almost, there's no progression, no interesting decisions to be made, and because the other aspects of the game are so well developed, the gameplay seams that exist only to show the other parts and it feels weird to me. Overall it's a very nice project and I like it a lot. If the mechanics have received more attention it would be a 10.

bernardex 2021-04-27 20:54

Just amazing!!!! I felt like I was hearing a story book back when I was a kid, and I loved every aspect of it - speacially the donut planet - just like my imagination when I was younger. This was the better polished game for me in this jam so far. Great work everyone!

sempiternal 2021-04-27 21:03

Brilliant entry, loved every single bit of it, bravo! Got to Eden on the second try, after getting hang of the concept the game is pretty easy, but I've had so much fun, especially the narration. Well done!

rhoff95 2021-04-27 21:16

Beautiful art here. Well done.

stinkykitty 2021-04-27 21:34

Loved the quirky character (gotta love a monocle!) and the voice acting. The writing for the planet descriptions were fun to read - amazing game overall!

tino 2021-04-27 21:53

Finally got to Eden! I may rest now. And not think of the new settlers who might ruin it in just a few generations.

wizard-sino 2021-04-27 21:55

The charachter is hilarious, the art is stunning, and the mechanics are interesting! all in all, you made a great game!

biku 2021-04-27 22:30

WOW! This game is so good. Art, sound and design, everything on the game is perfect. I love that you can just play it with the mouse and at the same time there are so many options to play. I'm so surprise with this pearl.

nyanpierre 2021-04-27 22:33

omg the mood is insane ! How did you do the voice ? :o

bicheste 2021-04-27 22:58

That was really good! What a cute and charming little game. Good job! Loved it.

grogian 2021-04-28 00:15

A beautiful digital board game experience.

chris1919 2021-04-28 00:33

The art was amazing. Very fun voice acting. My only critique really is that it was not intuitive how much each resource would give or take away from you. It seemed like the only way was to add the resource to the right bar and see the effect. It would have been really nice if there were numbers next to the symbols on the resource cards or some way of understanding their value/cost

koboldskeep 2021-04-28 01:25

Great artwork! Definitely not the usual kind of game you see in these jams. Your art team is quite creative.

iellswo 2021-04-28 01:58

Wow, awesome! Loved the way you were able to get a lot of mileage with just a few art assets, not to mention the really cool style of those art assets. Only advice would be to add some form of indicator (+1, -2, etc) to indicate the value of each resource to make it more clear, but other than that I thought this was a really great little game!

zwodahs 2021-04-28 03:06

beautiful graphics, great audio and a gameplay that fits the theme. Good work here. took me 3 tries to get to eden.

tengusheath 2021-04-28 03:16

The art was really great. Doing voiceovers for all the dialog was really ambitious. Good job.

webox 2021-04-28 03:24

Impressive art and music!! Great job, voice acting is awesome too!! Great job!. Btw, the save.png feature wasn't working for me I got the error:

AccessDeniedAccess denied.Anonymous caller does not have storage.objects.get access to the Google Cloud Storage object.

Great game!! Congrats!!

cannashblue 2021-04-28 03:32

Everything about this game is amazing. Artwork, music, sound design, voice acting, writing, gameplay. It was a blast. Thank you for making it!

dob 2021-04-28 04:02

Really beautiful game with lots of creativity and very extensive content. The art is the best part, but the voice acting is really fun too. Very nice work on this.

lepoulet 2021-04-28 05:17

Thank you for all your amazing feedback. @webox : The saving.png part isn't available on the webgl version, sorry for that. Didn't had time to implement it properly.

cakts 2021-04-28 06:40

Awesome game, was very fun to play :D

mololo 2021-04-28 06:41

Amazing design, awesome music, great gameplay and a very funny narrator :)

Overall a wonderful game. Good job guys.

peterfiftyfour 2021-04-28 07:11

Thanks that was beautiful :)

daine0 2021-04-28 07:16

Good, just soooo good.

vsi 2021-04-28 07:47

love the graphics, nice time killer games, good job guys!

zhi 2021-04-28 07:54

It goes without saying that this has been a very complete game, and exquisite work! For a mere game making enthusiast like me, it's really quite remarkable that it was made this way! The music is fantastic, and the game was made with great care.

crowvax 2021-04-28 08:21

Incredible work. The graphics are stunning, and the game is very well-polished.

tankou 2021-04-28 09:00

Great game! Every team member did a very good job here. I had fun playing and will definitely play again.

dhim 2021-04-28 09:15

Best game played so far. So gorgeous!

I love the game mechanics of bag management. Maybe a clearer indicator of the size the card will take (was that the card color ?)

lepoulet 2021-04-28 09:40

@dhim Thank you for your comment. Yes, some mechanics are hard to understand, especially, the size and the fact that some Report are linked one to the other (the small color dot at the right of the report).

shadow30 2021-04-28 09:41

The audio, voice acting and graphics top notch!! PS: The minecraft reference was hilarious. TOP NOTCH. GET IT?

freamdev 2021-04-28 09:55

Very well done game, the planets are gorgeous and I want to land on them to look around. Most of them are such great ideas too. The only water planet and the hollow one especially was instresting! Hope one day I'll manage to reach eden deffinetly will keep trying!

jlmast 2021-04-28 10:03

ooooh, the sweet bouncy lands of the donut planet, which is my home planet, judging by how many donuts I ate in my life. Wonderful game, love love love the fantastic graphics!

y4nnick 2021-04-28 12:09

Wow, nice game! Super cool graphics and voice!

kaappis 2021-04-28 12:10

Presentation is great and graphics are beautiful and polished. Gameplay was nice combination of story and resource management. Pretty deep entry!

There was so much going on that on my first playthrough got rank c. Got to Eden on my second try, when I only focused on those icons alone.

bidentworks 2021-04-28 13:33

As a French, absolutely loved the voice of the narrator! Planet art was gorgeous, overall mood was great and funny. Loved the background music. Thank you for making it!

lucky-trident 2021-04-28 14:02

Let us embrace the wonderfulness of the French accent, oui ! Exactement, monsieur, madame !

This was amazing, the concept, the art, the voice-acting, the creative planets, wow ! I just wish there was more ! The experience felt too short !

jrevel 2021-04-28 14:48

Wow, the polish on this game is amazing ! Every transition has a small animation, the graphics are great, everything is narrated, the music fits the game really well... congratulation ! it looks like a finished game !

stroe-andrew 2021-04-28 15:12

Woah! I'm really impressed TBH. Everything seems so polished and this idea is pretty complex for this amount of hours! The voice acting fits perfect and the artstyle is cool cool! Congrats for this entry.

I would actually love to have something like this on mobile.

blackopsben 2021-04-28 15:23

Incredibly well done! My only feedback would be to add more sound effects such as when you are traveling and clicking on things. Great job! I think I see the issue regarding URP as we discussed. It's my browser that doesn't work which is why it seemed to me like my game didn't work at first. Your game didn't run using the Brave browser, but does run on Edge.

junior-lima 2021-04-28 16:33

It's amazing job!!

andrewkennedy 2021-04-28 16:45

Absolutely outstanding work. The artwork, sound, and voice acting is top-notch. It's almost hard to believe that this is a game jam entry.

I had to play through a couple times just to see the different planets and hear the dialogue. I enjoyed the balance you struck in the resource management - it was important, but not overly complicated to understand.

Really stellar work!

moritz-jaeger 2021-04-28 17:32

Wow, that was some really nice art and music. Also the voice acting was very on point. The gameplay was a bit weak, but I still really enjoyed the soothing experience :)

lenophie 2021-04-28 19:07

Nice job! The amount of writing that went into this for a jam project is neat! And that was one french accent if I ever heard one hehe! 🇫🇷

wolderado 2021-04-28 19:11

Really awesome work! Maybe moving the blocks can be a bit smoother and juicy but other than that really impressive game!

makse 2021-04-28 20:32

Really beautiful!

danmedeiros 2021-04-28 20:55

I need a full version of this game. RIGHT NOW!!!

Seriously, I'm not really into point-n'-click games, but this one? Chef's kiss. The graphics are really cute, the changes of music to match a whole new discovery hit me just right. Congratulations.

borabee 2021-04-29 01:54

Amazing in every way! From an original take on the theme to a wonderful story and narration to atmospheric and diverse music to unbelievably gorgeous artwork to a clear UI and great balance on the design of every planet's characteristics to smooth, simple to undertand, bug free gameplay... Unbeliavable you guys managed to do all this in only 72h! Definitely my favorite so far.

szymon-ogd 2021-04-29 04:16

I like the sounds, graphics, funny voice! Great composed.

cem-adiloglu 2021-04-29 06:32

loved it! graphics, music, atmosphere, mood it was all lovely

noskro 2021-04-29 08:03

Wow The game is amazing and I would love to see more of it! Still don't know how to get an A, but I will keep on trying. And I guess you ran out of time for an end scene that matches the game. That's totally fine. But if you even add anything to the game let me know.

tipyx 2021-04-29 09:13

Very interesting game, I would say! There is definitively an aura around it, making it pretty unique :) The gameplay remind me (a little) the excellent Out There, don't know if it was one of your references ;)

lepoulet 2021-04-29 09:32

Thank you @tipyx. After hours dev the game, we saw that the game look like a bit like out there. I know one of the game.

steve-johnstone 2021-04-29 09:48

It's incredible that all that gorgeous artwork was produced in just one weekend. Outstanding!

scott-steffes 2021-04-29 09:52

The voice was such a great addition! It would be nice if the text boxes got bigger when you hovered over them.

aaronacus 2021-04-29 09:55

I love the art and the concept, maybe more gamefeel in your actions in the game, would make the game mechanic more juicy .

Nice Jam and Good Job:)

smiley405 2021-04-29 10:58

Finally a unique game concept in this jam. The voice addition was a plus point, graphic was really cool, humorous & intriguing gameplay. Loved it!

caveman54 2021-04-29 13:19

I don't even know what to say. This is a great game. The only thing I felt missing and I might just have missed it but I didn't see a way of quitting a run. There was a couple times I clicked and left the planet at the start by accident. But otherwise I really enjoyed playing this. Great entry!

etrealjunior 2021-04-29 14:45

Wonderful game, I see this style being used in the future as support in schools and educational means, the dubbing is incredible, finally a high standard game for a Jam,, a big hug to everyone, and I await your evaluations regarding my game.

vanleiden 2021-04-29 15:38

Very engaging gameplay, interesting choices to be made, all in all an extremely polished experience! Great job!

paulhocker 2021-04-29 18:04

such a beautiful game and the voice acting was a really nice touch. it was a very calming game to play although i did feel that i was just randomly picking things sometimes but it felt really nice to continue exploring and going deeper into the universe. awesome job. thanks for making this game.

goldenevolution 2021-04-29 20:46

Amazing game. Beautiful graphics, awesome voice acting, sound and everything! Super polished game and I can't believe this was made so quickly! Awesome stuff!

gyemelmor 2021-04-29 21:51

Awesome game and awesome art. You made one of the best games of the jam! Just a few feedback, the first one is that you should check for the credits links in the web version of the game, and the second is that once you finish the game and want to save the capture, it also breaks saying that you don't have access to google cloud

seind 2021-04-29 21:52

Awesome! It's a great work, congratulations! The grafics, the voice actor, the sound and gameplay. Sublime

meenakshi 2021-04-30 05:18

The best art I have seen so far. Maybe even the best game I have seen so far in this jam!

egercreator 2021-04-30 08:04

Wow.... This game is amazing! The art style, the sound, the idea - everything is great! Mayby the best game I have seen in this jam! Great, great job!

tyrannas 2021-04-30 08:27

First time I've seen a post about this game, I was like "Damned, those planets look gorgeous, but the UI looks complicated, I'll check it later." Now that's I have, I realize that I was so wrong. It's really easy to play and so catching! The Art is amazing and the music fits so well for every planet!! And all the details and narratives added to every planet! The real plus for me though was the voice acting that instantly put a big smile on my face, (that joke on minecraft was so dumb haha). Haven't reach the Eden yet but gonna try again for sure. Anyway, congratulations for shipping such a well polished game on every aspect in only 3 days, that's insane.

luddegodofpain 2021-04-30 08:30

Straight fives across the board Easily the best ludum game i ever played Art, music, writing, voiceacting, delivery, mechanics... Everything is perfect.

bnmkt 2021-04-30 08:43

I'm bluffed, it's a very well done game, as much for the mechanics as for the visuals or the narration!

All this done in only one weekend is impressive, bravo to you!

I just had a little bug during my first game, I wanted to go too fast to skip the tutorial I had read on your page and I found myself already having to go to the second planet which made me "lose" a level :(

Thank you very much for your creation, I will play it again! ♥

landsykes 2021-04-30 08:46

I really like the mood of your game, the sound design and graphics are amazing ! Great job !

devemil 2021-04-30 08:46

Absolutely lovely! I really dig the graphics, so cute and makes me feel really comfortable while playing the game. The voice acting is great and I absolutely love the sounds. Also your synthy version of "Also sprach Zarathustra" was really cool! Amazing what you accomplished in such a short time, thumbs up!

randomhuman 2021-04-30 08:47

Wonderful! The variety of planets is so creative and the narration is really fun.

tyrannas 2021-04-30 08:54

Eden reached yay ! That 2001 ref was so neat. Et la marseillaise... j'étais pas prêt. Bref j'arrête de vous spammer, juste bravo

caca 2021-04-30 08:59

@tyrannas Nous non plus on était pas prêt 😂😂

shin0nome 2021-04-30 09:01

This game is fantastic, what can I say more ? This is a beautiful way to approche the theme i'm stun, and the voice acting is great too ! Un jeu français qui pétille d'émotions, de couleurs et d'envie de bien faire, et c'est juste génial, un immense bravo, l'un des plus beaux jeux de la Jam (autant sur le plan presque philosophique que graphique) ! This game is wonderful, good job !

fluffygamedev 2021-04-30 09:09

I am just blown away by this game! The Art direction and sound design are flawless and the core loop is interesting!

Un grand bravo à vous!

bereg 2021-04-30 09:29

Very nice indeed. Everything in this game so tightly fits together! The beautiful graphics, wonderful music and narration, the humor. The gameplay itself is a little bit plain and easy, it needs to be expanded and polished, but overall it's a great and fun-to-play game.

kaihyo 2021-04-30 10:42

OK. I love this game. The only negative is that it is too short. I need more ! Bravo à toute l'équipe, c'est un super projet ! <3

lelulagames 2021-04-30 18:16

Very well made. I love all the different planets, and the voice over was funny. If anything I was just sad it was such a short game.

pedonho 2021-04-30 21:40

i want more :( everything is so solid and beautiful. loved it a lot <3

chrissx2 2021-05-01 00:00

Love the humorous accent and visuals!

monkeybit29 2021-05-01 00:17

This is probably just me, but I had a difficult time understanding the rules at first because so much was being thrown at me, even in the tutorial page. It would be nice to maybe have like a training mission that slowly builds up the purpose of each icon. After a few tries my brain finally understood what I needed to do, but then it just became a shape-finding balancing act and I feel like i missed out on the story/immersion. Besides that, the art, audio, and effort is just solid and incredible, great job!

Easy to understand, easy to play, beautiful graphics, cool voice acting, perfect game length. I love it! Blown away.

wolfrug 2021-05-01 09:10

Incredible visuals, sound, and a simple but compelling core loop! Incredible work from the whole team, really :) And haha, the voice overs, classic :D

vesper 2021-05-01 09:19

Ha, that was lovely! Including some voice-acting was a wonderful decision, and really helped to highlight the lighthearted humour of the game.

The art was great, audio was excellent, and the gameplay was surprisingly intuitive. I worried a bit at first because that info pane with the instructions went away before I could finish reading, but when it came down to it everything made perfect sense.

The game really does a good job of capturing that mood of joyful discovery, and it feels like it has a lot of potential replay value. Wonderful work, well done!

P.S. That monocle was everything.

LOG ENTRY ED-55-1

After finding Eden I started reflecting my journey so far. I am honoured to be the one La Terre chose to send for this mission. The sights and sounds of the journey were a true delight, but I have to admit, I didn't really pay attention to what I was sending back earth. I hope you all find my findings useful, I was mostly just watching the icons my sensors were giving me.

I hope everyone can join me at Le Nouveau Paris on Eden very soon. Just skip the watery planet on your way here. While it is beautiful, it will hinder your process. If you pardon me, I need to go polish my monocle and wax my moustache.

END OF LOG

Very beautiful game. It's so great that you voiced a text. I'm impressed

ED-55 !

keppu 2021-05-01 14:39

I've not read any of the comments so I write my review as a pure first experience.

Some technical issues with the WebGL version: Skip button doesn't work or works with a delay. Not sure. Also clicking some links at the credits screen doesn't work and the game has to be restarted if clicked. Also, the save PNG button, in the end, is faulty.

The game itself is a beautiful piece of art in all aspects. First off the voice acting is superb and takes advantage of the French accent to the fullest giving life to the main character. It also makes the story more interesting to hear.

The sound design is good and it creates a relaxing mood for the player. It's soft and delicate, but still hopeful and compliments the art style of the game nicely.

Art is truly professional quality. The only thing lowering the quality is how the art is zoomed in (planets) as it blurs the art sprites.

Gameplay-wise the game is quite simple. Pick from the best options and try to survive/fill the science bar. There is lot to expand here. Upgrades to the ship. Alternate routes to unlock. More FTL the game stuff.

The theme is well used as the player dwells deeper into the Universum finding more and more bizarre planets.

Overall my favorite entry so far. Well done!

verygenuinecraze 2021-05-01 15:39

Incroyable les gens ! Bravo à tous  Le gameplay est cool, les graphismes sont exceptionnels et l'histoire est sympa. Vraiment bien joué !

aboogoost 2021-05-01 17:08

Very good sound an graphics! The voice acting was wonderful! It was difficult for me to know what I would need going forward so I just kind of tried to grab more of whatever I was low on. Maybe I didn't understand it well enough. I either got lucky or it was too easy because I was able to find Eden before I really knew what I was doing.

youhou 2021-05-01 18:18

Really nice arts, sounds and music were ok, the voice acting is very nice too. About the gameplay, I was not very into it, it's not really my type of game, but everything worked well and I must admit you did a pretty good game. Nice work then ! :)

mykola 2021-05-01 19:56

Amazing! That's one of the best games I've played so far in this game jam and it definitely feels like a complete game with a lot of effort put in it. It would make a great mobile game!

I'm totally blown away by the visuals, sound and voice acting in this game. All of it is so beautiful leading to an awesome mood. The soundtracks are great. I'm so impressed that you managed to compose a 5+ minute long soundtrack for each planet and menu!! I wonder how long on average did it take you to finish one track? What kind of musical background and experience do you have to do so much of such an awesome music so quickly?

The only minor recommendation I come up with is to improve the transitions between different soundtracks. Currently, it just cuts the previous track and starts the next one but mixing the two or even just fading in/out would make it sound a bit smoother. One other thing I just realized is that the game could benefit from sound effects to provide audio feedback to the actions done by the player. Something simple like clicks, drag&drops, shuttle engine noise and such would make the game a bit more alive.

To sum up, top marks for most categories, really impressive work. You've done a totally incredible jam game, very well done! Looking forward to seeing you on future jams!

revilo 2021-05-02 05:32

Lovely graphics and I enjoy the voice of the character

caca 2021-05-02 05:33

@mykola Thank you for your kind words, I'm really moved ❤️

To answer you question, I will first say that it's not 5 minutes of music for every planets. The shortest one is the Menu (approximately 40 seconds) and the Split Planet (around 50 seconds) and the longest should be the Oceanic one with aproximatively 1:30 minutes of music. Then it's only loops. The music is composed on purpose for the end to match almost perfectly the begining. That's why, it's seems longer :)

To be honest, I can't tell you how long it took me for a track, because I moved a lot between the différents Themas while composing, but in 72th hours, I think I spent 25 hours composing. From Saturday to Sunday for the "real" composition and then, I used Monday to improve and polish everything!

I didn't invent everything on this weekend. I'm composing for one year now and since, I created this small "ideas box" where I put everything that come in my mind (when I'm in the train, or walking, or even in the middle of the night ^^). It could be two notes, or a Thema, or some chords. Everything that I think can be interesting in the future, even if I don't know yet what to do with it. When I look back at it, I honestly don't think everything worth it 😂 But this weekend for exemple, it helped me a bit to start some planets when I had no clue what to do... Then you take the idea and you transform it, you work on it a few hours to fit to your emotions. I think I used this for 3 planets :)

Anyway, I was also lucky to have those gorgeous pictures to help my creativity! It really helped to get inspired 🌟🌏🚀

I hope I answered your questions 🙃

I will also take this opportunity to thanks everyone for your amazing feedbacks, from the bottom of my heart ❤️

There is nothing more beautiful when you created something than when it touch people at the right place. Everytime we read your warm comments, there is tears in my eyes... I will never thank you enough 🎶

О, Жюль Верн! Любимый писатель! Здорово увидеть его рассказ в игровой форме. Спасибо большое! ^_^

euler-moises 2021-05-02 16:20

What a curious game! I'm glad I didn't read everything. I was enchanted by the art, the different music of each planet (a great touch) and the description of the planets made by the astronaut. Definitely a game that can be extended to "the infinite and beyond".

Congratulations to the team.

mykola 2021-05-02 17:25

@caca thank you so much for your thorough answer!

Ahhh, I got a bit confused by the tracks' lengths on the Soundcloud. But even then, they are really well-written and don't get repetitive even after several play-throughs.

I see, now I can imagine it much better. Around 4 hours per track seem to make sense. Yet I really rarely see jam games with as much musical content as yours. I guess it's really hard to create 8 rather different melodies and switch between them, so that's the main challenge of composing in a short period of time.

I'm really impressed that you have only one year of composing experience. I would think that you are a professional composer! Thank you very much for sharing these hints to composing, they are really useful and I'll try my best to follow them when I have free time as well and hopefully, my next game will turn out better.

Thank you once again for replying, you did answer all of my questions. I'm really amazed and inspired thanks to you and your team! Keep creating and I'll be looking forward to seeing your next projects!

filgru 2021-05-02 17:48

It's so funny:) I kept trying to click on "Skip" button at the very beginning and nothing was going on :) Anyway, what a impressive entry! I love the artwork and sound&music. Cool looking planets, my favorite was pink-yellow donut! :) I liked the main character, how his look changes, nice addition to the game. The game is very intuitive, everything's clear :) One of the best games I played on LD48 so far! Great job!!!

milestone-games 2021-05-02 21:48

I'm not crying, you're crying. Beautiful game.

zimny11 2021-05-03 09:25

I don't know what to say... this game is just amazing. Congratulations on doing something so awesome in such a short time! I've already played a few times to see a different ending! Honestly, I want more! I want to explore more different planets and play longer! This is one of the few times that I give a 5 out of 5 in every category.

(I think there is a bug. On the first planet, if you press skip, you will skip not only the dialogue, but also the entire exploration of the first planet.)

lepoulet 2021-05-03 10:10

@zimny11 Thanks for the feedback! I will fix the remaining bug in couple of day i think, but we didn't plan to add more content to the game. I want to release a version with some corrections on the bug and some tutorial or feedback on the obscur feature as linked point of interest and size of the box.

zathnic 2021-05-04 01:15

Love how much life each of the different planet types has, with different music, descriptions, great voice acting, a creative design - there really isn't much more you could have done to bring these planets to life. The gameplay is maybe a bit simplistic, but still works well and I understand it would have been difficult to add more depth and complexity to it in the span of the jam. Overall it feels very polished, like a complete package, quite impressive!

noteworthy 2021-05-04 07:31

Excellent game! very unique gameplay loop, I loved the art the music and the excellent voice acting. The locations are all refreshingly original and the humour is excellent. Solid entry for the jam, good work!

felixmreeve 2021-05-04 13:46

I agree with all the praise on here, great art/music, unique gameplay and fantastic voice acting! Made me laugh and gave me enough decisions to stay engaged and want to do better in a second run. Brilliant entry!

itsisaac 2021-05-04 14:46

Absolutely fantastic game! Such a unique concept and extremely well executed! This needs to be developed further! Its brilliant. Great work! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

lorwon 2021-05-05 09:48

I make a little comment in French;) Frankly I was really blown away by the visual and audio quality of the game, the concept is really addicting and we really want to find this perfect planet! Great dubbing by the way. I just found a small problem, some texts tend to overlap, but that's okay. Well played, it's a really great game (really qualitative: D).

florianduf 2021-05-05 14:32

This game don't look like a Jam game ^^ Everything is polish :) So good job !! I like the theme, the concept, the sounds and graphismes.

Very good job ! :)

jose-bonilla 2021-05-05 16:42

Beautiful, beautiful game. Impressive. I haven't reached Eden yet, I reached ending B and C. But it's amazing! My only feedback would be to improve the instructions/tutorial a little bit. Amazing!

msipp27 2021-05-06 17:19

for some reason whenever i hit skip (to skip the dialogue) it also skips the resource gathering section as well.

kovakomes 2021-05-06 23:22

A short, but beautiful adventure I'll never forget. Thank you for making this!

itsboats 2021-05-08 07:23

Very cool game I want to eat that donut planet :yum: >:) Graphics were so good in this, definitely a highlight for me! The tutorial page had me worried that it was going to be complicated and it was going to be hard to remember what the different resources are, but once you get going its very clear with a simple and elegant UI. The game reminded me of a way more relaxing *Gods Will Be Watching* where you are trying to balance different resources, but you are actually given visuals for them xD

Music, sound, voice acting were all amazing and work great together (along with visuals) to create a fun, adventurous setting, and I liked reading all the text in the different articles. Seriously, everything you guys did here makes for a very unique universe that makes me want to explore more mysterious and delicious planets

Very charming game!

neontropics 2021-05-08 13:56

Great UI and graphics, making it a joy to play. Also really nice writing adding detail to the planets you explored. Overall this was super polished for a Jam entry, and it gave me a it of a Master of Orion 1 vibes which is always great!

ivan-nosov 2021-05-09 18:43

Incredible job. The atmosphere, humor, design - absolutely charming!

thejohnyfeed 2021-05-12 19:58

I absolutely loved the music, the voice acting, and the art. It was just astonishing! The gameplay wise, though, it was not really my type of game, but I still enjoyed it. Amazing work!

chrisap 2021-05-12 21:37

The art and the voice acting alone are something incredible about this game! The handling of resources was interesting and its all tied to the interesting different planets, I'd love to live on the donut shaped one! <3 congrats on the fantastic looking game, incredibly impressive for a jam game. <3

vladadamm 2021-05-13 20:31

A really well polished game, with a simple and short gameloop but The art style is really clean & polished, and the planets are unique (though they would give nightmares to astronomers/phycists). Each planet having its own musical theme was a nice thing. Having a professional voice actor also helped a lot on the audio side (even if PADG's pronunciation in english isn't always good).

On the downside, I felt like the option to choose between 2-3 planets lacked interest as we have no incentive to use more logistics to go to a further planet and also don't know beforehand which planet is the most likely to provide the best result for our run (unless we tryhard the game and know them all). So, the closest one is kind of always the best option (less risk for same rewards).

loyance 2021-05-14 01:14

What a great game - the art, the story, the audio/voice, the attention to detail, the jokes. This just screams at me why Jam is an amazing category. Also, the ability to export the playthrough into an image is really great (but I'd like it in a higher resolution). Some of these planets feel like they are coming from the pages of some sci-fi books - it's really great. A fantastic entry 🥳

arivenzys 2021-05-17 09:35

@vladadamm Thanks for the feedback ! It's true we intended the game to be replayable to discover the interest (and little secrets) of each planet, which allows you to reach Eden with the best ending when you knows what to do precisely. However, the closest planet yield less ressources (or has more penalties) than a farther one, so it's not necessarily always the best option (but maybe you were lucky overall :D).

vladadamm 2021-05-17 14:48

@arivenzys Missed that picking a further planet would give more ressources. I assumed the ressources were always the same, guess i was wrong.

philstrahl 2021-05-18 17:06

That was funny, enjoyed the resource management quite a bit and even got the good ending on my second attempt. Here's my time with it on my stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2X3tRskS-U
