LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Press Enter by Jezzamon 2014-12-10T15:26:00

Cool idea! First I though there was nothing besides the explosion because I did not saw in the bottom right speaking. Luckily I gave it another try. Btw, I made something with the title screen myself just in a whole different direction.

Pinball Wizardry by dsilvers 2014-12-10T15:10:00

Collisions are sadly broken on the flippers so I could not play much. Looks interesting though.

Super Engine Blast by savethejets1 2014-12-10T15:15:00

Very interesting idea. But unfortunately that bug where it you get stuck inside the blocks broke it for me. I think it would have been better if there would be significantly less blocks and somehow faster gameplay. Plays nice otherwise.

Entire Screen of One Game by Tom 7 2014-12-11T14:19:00

Great concept, I imagine it also messed with your mind while making it.
Our games are not so far away btw: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=44878

Beat Zombie VR by Ekanaut 2014-12-10T15:41:00

Great visuals but the gameplay is really odd. I could not figure out when I have to attack them, seemed rather random when I would hit. I have no Oculus so I can't tell how much that adds.

murder of Zafu by Franklin's Ghost 2014-12-10T15:33:00

Very cool style but the gameplay obviously lacks. It also has that problem of having to watch a cutscene over and over again after failing at a boss encounter.

TAB SHOOT by ynots 2014-12-10T15:47:00

I wish instead of the rather annoying recoil feedback you would have added other feedback. Like when you get hit and the health. I really like the idea behind it though and it has a nice look to it.

I don't like Sectors by RonnyEGT 2014-12-10T15:51:00

Norton deleted it after I started it. Mentioning it is a threat.

Zdy-ball: The Coffee Hunter by cardanai 2014-12-10T15:06:00

Interesting Pacman-ish concept. A bit problematic that most of the difficulty comes from the fixed rather slow rotating speed.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Slash Quest by Big Green Pillow ft Mgaia 2015-12-16T14:00:00

Great looking game with cool concept but it clearly suffers from the 2 buttons restriction, when you don't press A and D at the exact same time you go off in a different direction you wanted which happened often for me. It took me a bit to realize that I had to hit the monkey statue to get further on the 2nd isle. The isles with the bunnies instantly wrecked me.

Super Sky Golf by savethejets1 2015-12-16T00:57:00

First at all I'm really bad at it but it is very appealing anyway. Some minor things that could be better is more easy difficulty at the start and that it is more fluid when you can shoot next, it always rolls for some time before you can shoot again.

EarthWard by luke 2015-12-15T19:30:00

Nice game with cool pixel style!
Some critic:
- Using rotating with the mouse as another control doesn't appear two button controls to me even though I would take it over any simplification.
- The fuel mechanic is rather annoying and doesn't add much. First I blew all my fuel and was left to only glide constantly in one direction til the end. Very slight auto recharge would have helped.
- The earth doesn't look much like earth, took me a bit that I have protect that blue planet over all the others, the enemies only going for that one gave it away though.

CICP : the Center for Interplanetary Pest Control by Robber 2015-12-15T20:01:00

Nice look and cool concept but gameplay falls rather flat mainly because you wait most of the time. Also it seems you could just randomly cycle through all the towers while powersurge is active to shoot all the towers and destroy worms wherever you could.

Let's Play Simulator 2016 by zulman 2015-12-15T21:18:00

Great art style and interesting idea but the simple gameplay feels too random for me. Sure I can guess games from the name but that often don't work that well and then you suddenly get some mail where you are forced to pay money and it is over. The writing is really nice though and it is fun to guess games.

Seicho Boru by Robert 2015-12-15T19:01:00

Nice! I feel like there could be more variation in sizes of objects you can add and the ball size growing seemed to go only to some rather low maximum. Otherwise it is really cool.

Volcano by uvwar 2015-12-15T22:26:00

Pressing F doesn't spawn volcanoes for me, a little particle effect is all I see.

MILK TEETH by Rufson 2015-12-15T22:12:00

Cool creepy little game but the lack of challenge and progression is kinda sad. Would be nice to see that taken further.

Vrach's Lab by VrachLab 2015-12-15T19:10:00

Plays nicely but first I had my problems with it because the controls text is so quick gone and the fact the space is for growing/shrinking instead of jumping messed with my brain. Would have been better the other way around I think, after some failed attempts I got it though. Art could be better I think, I would have liked if it explored that sketchy look of the menu more. Some assets look rather low res blurry while other are sharp.

LD36 — Ancient Technology

The Get Up by Davision 2016-08-30T14:37:00

@kfischer_okarin
I added some instructions here in the description

LD37 — One room

Bite The Pain by hadesfury 2016-12-13T18:57:00

Who would have known that a hospital receptionist it the worst job in the world. All these people dying and getting pissed off so quick. Seriously, it is really good just too stressful for me. I feel like it could be better if it wouldn't be that fast.

Timéo's Lightmare by Krohomm 2016-12-13T19:09:00

ZQSD does not work with a german keyboard, most importantly Z is in a whole different location. With arrow keys you have to reach for E. It is a nice concept but hardly demanding in its gameplay. Might be better if you need to move around more, maybe to close cabinets where ghosts can come out.

Mechaxolotl Rampage by TeamAxolotl 2016-12-13T18:48:00

It has lot of style and charme but the theme with one room is a bit of a stretch and I feel look the moving around to do the actions is more of a annoyance then fun. Otherwise the mechanics are cool, I just feel with different controls it could be much better.

The Rocket Man by Dev Dennis 2016-12-13T18:26:00

Is it a metaphor to game devlopement? :) The gameplay is surely lacking but the story is nice.

Room 753 by local minimum 2016-12-13T19:17:00

Well, I'm not sure if I like that the repetition of the simple task is part of the horror. When I make all the rooms I get out of that hell right, right? Certainly a really cool concept, it could be much more. Or I am just too lazy to trying to find more.

Ernő & Rubï by Mike Mezhenin 2016-12-13T18:15:00

Interesting concept, i can see this having nice gameplay with some sort of adventure game mixed in. The art style is really unique and looks great.

ISS - Infuriating Space Simulator by Scruffy 2016-12-14T00:48:00

Wow, it has all the controls! Very cool!

Rubi's Room by Davision 2016-12-13T14:55:00

@Mike Mezhenin
Thx, If you mean that you have to match the split objects instead of completing the room with the tiles. That is because I found that twist to be more interesting and is also easier then completing a Rubik's cube while still hard though. If you mean the rotating of objects on their tiles, that is just to make it easier for the easy mode because it is still so hard. In the hard mode you don't have that.

Rubi's Room by Davision 2016-12-15T20:41:00

Nice to hear you liking it
@Mike Mezhenin, @Mouch Considering that never came up for me which is because I always considered it as tiles elements and not inverted cubes somehow. The wall, that is on the side of the tiles that you rotate, is not connected, there is the cut between. So mechanical, in real world it would also make sense the way I made it. I'm not sure if it would make it harder since it would give you another option to rotate objects in the hard mode, like a roll rotation.

RandomRoomRage by Nonakesh 2016-12-13T18:29:00

The main menu buttons do nothing for me. I can see the highlighting but when pressing them nothing happens

LD38 — A Small World

Feather Fighter by Ellian 2017-05-15T23:16:17Z

Cool! But this birds are kinda bullet spongy, would have prefered more birds and then one hit killing them. I like the destruction part a lot but it doesn't matter much for gameplay in my case since I die relatively quickly. Maybe more splash damage destruction and then you can somehow turn eggs into new ground with shooting them would be more interesting.

Hopper by TechnoNugget 2017-05-21T11:34:58Z

Congratz fellow 14th placed in Fun! It certainly is a lot of fun. I ended up always charging my shots and jumping full power and then just going straight since that is easier which is kinda sad since that ignores the gravity part a lot. I think it would be much more interesting if you have to make shots where you have to take the gravity in account and jumping in arks. More space between the planets and the projectiles with big explosions might be a way to go for that. Is is very cool in any case though, jumping around, dodging enemies, shooting at them. Great mechanics! I also like how it displays all the trails but maybe it is bit too much helping. If you like to check out my game which also plays with planets, gravity and shooting it is called Dots In Space... https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/dots-in-space

Flerth by parahunter 2017-05-15T22:59:50Z

Funny, maybe except for the fact that I have to smash them once the know the truth. Gameplay is too simple for my taste but it has the potential to be more

Divine Marbles by pankamil 2017-05-15T23:09:48Z

Nice idea. Was it in a Simpson intro where the gods played marbles with planets? Anyway, it is tricky at the beginning with force dragging in so heavy when its close but once you got a feel for it and know the right angle it gets kinda easy. I also exprimented with being able to manipulate the force while the projectile is flying but I found it to be too tricky because it hardly has feedback because force needs to be added subtle. Might have been better to have some mechanic to control the starting force/impulse more. Some objects collision to make it more interesting would be also nice.

Tiny Colonies by PhyscoKillerMonkey 2017-05-16T19:57:25Z

Nice concept but it is not clear what you have to build and what is what, some sort of unlock mechanic so you have to build them in the right order at the start would have been nice. I like the simple pixel art style except for the fact that the buildings get distorted to fit in the pixel grid.

Stupid Humans by Virtual Window 2017-05-16T20:07:13Z

The graphics and concept are great but the gameplay is lacking, it is just that it is too simple and I'm not a fan of recharging abilities. Would be nice if you can actually have some sort of control mechanic for each ability and then more feedback for the destruction but I guess time contraints also played a big role here.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Space Jelly Factory by Taldius 2020-04-25T11:43:52Z

Interesting concept and adorable graphics! However, it feels like the 2 parts of the gameplay do not fully fall in place. I kept forgetting what that dude is currently doing on the other side of the playing field or not realizing that some far away stone would smash him. Maybe I'm just bad at multitasking though.

Super B saves The City by seano 2020-04-22T10:51:39Z

Nice, I really like style. There is a bug where you when you jump too often at once you will land under the ground. Would be cool if there would be a slam attack with distance dmg that scales by times jumped. It seems most of the difficulty comes from the slightly akward controls. Maybe direct aiming and aliens can dodge a bit would have been better.

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-22T11:37:20Z

Very cool how you got so much out the simple gameplay. The narrative is aiso very nice. I did not fail on my playthrough, now I feel I missed something.

Meatball VS Gymzilla by davision 2020-04-21T02:17:16Z

@neonzone Good point! Something we missed in the hectic end.

Zen Watering by Gao Ming 2020-04-22T11:22:11Z

Interesting, it was a bit confusing at first where I was not sure if I have to hit the plant or the earth. The gameplay is a bit too basic for my taste. Instead of water just recharging there could be some water ressource that you have to get trough some gameplay way. The basic look has a lot of charme though

Apple Factory of the Insatiable by nanolotl 2020-04-25T11:40:44Z

Plays very well. Graphics could be better but the simple pixel graphics also have its charme. I guess there is a bit of a exploit where you better wait with completing apples til the last turn or one before to get more good cards first before moving to the next difficulty. Though there is also some risk to it.

Global Warning: The Smogocalypse by Ale 2020-04-22T11:08:05Z

There is a bug when you have a controller plugged in the keyboard controls do not work but you still have to use the mouse for steering. You kinda made 2 games in one, it seems you could have gotten lots more out of the concept when there is only one type of gameplay. It has the ingredients of something cool that just needed more time.

Alien creature from space! by Runuchok 2020-04-22T11:51:34Z

Really cool, we had a bit of a similiar idea! That with the connections required is a bit confusing. The gameplay is really interesting but could use more polish.

Beetle Blast by OursBleu 2020-04-22T13:05:43Z

Usually I hate escort missions but this is very well made! Its also spot on with the theme. I love that unique art style!

CRASH OR LIVE (HTML5 & Windows) by woody_builder 2020-04-22T20:05:46Z

Really cool! Feels like there is a lot of RNG to it or I'am just bad at controlling it. The graphics are very good just the character looks out of place, some cyber crash dummy would have been cool IMO

Magic forest by sqrrel 2020-04-22T12:57:01Z

This looks nice, sadly one third of the game screen is cut off while on the right one third is black. Maybe it has something to do with my 4K resolution, I'm running win 10

God Save the CHRIST! by Gogani 2020-05-10T15:59:35Z

Cool concept. Its getting chaotic quickly but that is also the charme of it.

Last water temple. A VR Game, Added non-Vr version by mmadara1 2020-04-22T12:05:28Z

Looks cool! I have desktop VR but not android VR :(

Scrambl'd by StarErik 2020-05-10T16:04:19Z

Very cool, instantly got flashback to playing on a gameboy! The music is also very much on point. The only thing I'm missing is the egg cracking apart and the innards splashing around.

Last Light by LykaWolfie 2020-04-22T11:00:26Z

Cool idea! I had some problems with the controls because I'm so used to space being jump and here its quite the opposite. I think the level desing could be more interesting and its difficult just because you can only see that small distance. Might have been more interesting that light give you further to see. Other than that it is really nice.

P_AI_TIENT_ZERO by Wes.Blanko 2020-04-22T12:52:34Z

What is happening? It says 2 years later, 3 years later and I have no idea how to control anything. Some instructions or any description would be really nice here. The art is very nice though and there is a lot of it! Only one thing, at the beginning you can see a lightsource symbol.

One Tough Flower by SophieMae0 2020-04-22T12:00:57Z

Interesting concept and nice style. I feel the gameplay could do with less RNG, like you get some idea where lava appears or that some lava stays and then grows each round. Well, somehow that there is more strategy to it.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

BLOOP by danman9914 2020-10-06T12:35:23Z

Very slick! I usually suck at quick time stuff and this was no exception but it kept me trying over and over again anyway til I made it to my bitter sweet end. Did someone mention Edge of tommorrow yet? The setting is obviously very unique. Story was interesting but I felt like the angle of finding out that you are the fascist bad guys could be explored more or that is has a more unsettling reveal somehow. One thing that was not optimal is Z and X for controls, those keys are pretty far away on a German keyboard but still reachable with a single hand.

Me, Myselfs and I by davision 2020-10-07T10:23:11Z

Thanks for all the comments!

@dexort You just had to be a little more patient for the monster to appear. There were also instructions above the hole when you start the game.

@ladmiester Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it that much! Yea, I should made things more clear, there are a few instructions above the hole when you start though. Yep, I thought about more weapons/items but there was just not enough time. Smaller enemies could be also cool. Switching between the characters would take away from having to control them all at once, I like to have them matter more though.

@frederik-boye Yep, I thought about also having the colors matter more where for instance enemies could have weak points with colors and there could be perks that you pickup. I definately would have liked to push the style more, especially with shader effects but there was just not enough time.

@noteworthy Yea, that is the problem with experimental games, they tend to be confusing when the player can't pull from experiences with other games of that genre. There were some basic instructions above the hole when you start though. Yep, its lacking better effects, I had to make them low priority with the time constraints.

@anguish-bucket Oh no, that sounds like existential crisis mixed with paranoia! :D There were some instructions above the hole when you start. You can also find some instructions on this page.

@roberto-nascimento-almada I'm sorry that you killed all yourselfs and ended up lonely with yourself. You can put yourselfs back together again though, the pieces they left behind can be picked up and combined back together so they live gain. There were also instructions above the hole.

Satelloop by diptoman 2020-10-06T19:07:30Z

Really cool and great graphics. Maybe a few too many mechanics for a arcade game. On my run I easily defended everything, got 1 impact but never bothered to repair it. Then sunddenly it was game over because the energy run out.

PolyFury by Dom Harris 2020-10-06T11:04:50Z

Nice simplistic game! It feels really polished, there is only one thing that I found a bit annoying, the camera tilt seems to make ir harder to control right.

Oplo by Harry Alissavakis 2020-10-06T16:30:14Z

Nice simple game, lovely style and the little animations add a lot. I was a bit confused as how to tackle the enemies, its not exactly clear when they make damage.

Oplo by Harry Alissavakis 2020-10-06T16:53:25Z

Yea, that makes sense. I guess it was just confusing with "they only move after you have moved" with made them seem sometimes ignoring me while sometimes instantly attacking me

QLOOP by PapyKent 2020-10-06T11:10:28Z

That is a really cool idea! Very old school arcade like. I suck at the game though. What would make it easier for me is to see more in advance where things appear.

Until All Ends by WilloXs 2020-10-06T17:41:41Z

Nice, I think I just had too much fun with all the violence. The pixel style is also lovely.

The Curse of Cattenburg by Honest Dan 2020-10-07T10:57:36Z

This is amazing for 72h! Somehow I managed to die on my first fight and before that I made a whole loop without any fight. I think the problem was that I realized too late that placing a character is also a action and that the enemies instant killed my mage.

Humdrum by ZachsButt 2020-10-06T19:13:18Z

Cute! I would have done more chores.

Beyond Death by Trypants 2020-10-06T17:02:58Z

Nice, interesting art style. It was pretty frustrating but I might be just bad at it. The world looks really cool!

Cursed Deck by rhewid 2020-10-06T11:23:21Z

Thats a really cool idea! In my run it became very quickly about just clicking all my cards without strategy til the enemy is dead because I could just play all anyway. Maybe less cards or my high cost cards would improved that but then again I could just have been lucky. The art style is lovely only missing some animation, like some simple bump movement for hits.

Too Hot to Handle by TheMoonrise 2020-10-06T09:56:26Z

That is a really cool concept, I love the multiplayer idea. Unfortunately I'm way too bad to get anywhere. My buildings kept being out of power so I build a lot oil plants to get something quick but then firestorms devastated everything and the fire fighters seem to be not much help. Maybe I'm too blame for creating more firestorms with the oil plants?

Hyper Racer by X_Pilot 2020-10-06T16:58:53Z

This is really fun! A bit confusing with where the physics take you. I drove backwards at one point. The style is also really cool.

Bermuda Triangle by Humpert764 2020-10-06T19:03:31Z

Could it be that it is bugged with the jammer. First try I didn't found a jammer buidling to build and lost. 2nd try I build that jammer upgrade right away yet I still lost after the first wave. Otherwise its a cool concept. Maybe more platforms would be nice so there is more to do.

Bermuda Triangle by Humpert764 2020-10-06T20:54:52Z

Hmm, I'm not sure. Would I get a different message?

Choo Choo Loop by thunderkerrigan 2020-10-06T09:41:16Z

Cool! Reminds a lot of the very old pipes puzzle arcade game (It was for the Amiga I think) where you have pipes instead of tracks and water flowing instead of trains but you had to choose from limited pieces there connecting things. It plays nicely, I however was confused on how to build a loop since they just smash in the box then.

Lööp Runner by Salty Lad 2020-10-06T17:45:17Z

Nice simple game, very arcadeish. Could be more looped or lööped

Astroline by Mr.developer 2020-10-06T16:46:03Z

Nice game and cool art style! I just wish there was more to the countdown mechanic, it seems it was just a forced teleport with no consequences other than to backtrack and the game would be more fun without it. If for instance you would have to reach a save point before it runs out you would have to play with it in mind. I really enjoyed playing it though.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep-fry Deeper by Ithildin 2021-04-27T17:10:32Z

Sweet, my first churros! A little on the small side but lovely. Various deep fried food withing other deep fried food would be cool

Gundemonium by AkirAssasin 2021-04-28T17:42:56Z

Very slick simple game and brutal! Took me a bit to figure out that I also have to move left and right so I have a chance against those coming from the top and I can jump on enemies

Falling Dwarf by Garywiss 2021-04-28T17:37:24Z

That gameplay loop works really well and the artstyle is pretty unique with that mix of 2D and 3D. At one point I just let myself fall as far as I can get but it seems to be just infinite generated. When I died at ca 5000 meters the camera glitched up when I was back up, It pointed downwards with the character not visible but it fixed itself when I walked somewhere.

self reflection by torcado 2021-04-28T17:12:37Z

Very cool, thorough thought through puzzles!

Sized Bite by davision 2021-04-27T20:01:36Z

@rick2112 Yea, I didn't get around making anything for exit but you can use Alt+F4 and also make it windowed with Alt+Enter

@maxwell3000 Thanks, fun fact, a lot of these holes came to be by accident and I just went with it.

@zeusonator Thx, onsider yourself lucky, there are a lot more exciting bugs to find. I have to do something about that.

@ahspike Thanks!

@andori-paic Thank you! Its my first exploration type game, it lends to some interesting design work.

@superpokeunicorn Thanks, I wish I had more time to explore more obstacles challenges with the mechanic. Yea, that keyhole is one of the more frustrating bugs. I had some technical issues with the scaling at the end and that limit got messed up there.

Sized Bite by davision 2021-04-29T18:33:40Z

I forgot to mention pressing R lets you reset to the start position. You have to traverse through the rooms again but you get to keep your teeths. Keeping your teeths is always good in my book.

@mamon Yea, movement platforms could be cool, especially when the kick off bigger sizes

@nyanpierre Thx!

@metalfox-dioxymore That SteamVR thing is just what UE4 does on default and I keep forgetting to turn it off. Don't worry about not finishing it since there is no end and I don't think anyone will actually find all my teeth. Yea, that lag is annoying, its because I had to workaround all the floating point problems but I might still have an idea that could improve it a lot.

@logan Yea, the shrinking is pretty extreme, I need to somehow make a info graphic of that. I'm glad there is also a case where a bug played out in a positive way! 82 teeth found is a lot! I placed 132 in total but I don't expect anyone to actually get all. As you said a lot of tiny holes, that let me hide them. There are also cavities between the walls that happened more by accident.

@romana-kapustova Oh no! You can reset to the start position with pressing R. I forgot to mention that. The movement glitch seems to be introduced only in the new version where I fixed some issues. Fix some bugs and get whole new curious bugs I guess. It might be related to floating point precision and friction. Maybe I get it fixed in another version. The map is not quite infinite but I would like that.

Stellae Flere by bwalter 2021-04-28T17:23:03Z

That is a really cool concept and the pixel art is also great. It was however too hectic for me dealing with the enemies while also managing powers. Maybe keys instead of mouse would have helped, then you don't have to look at the controls for changing them.

depthscraper by lexi 2021-04-27T23:06:20Z

Nice simple fun game. Only downside I found that you can end up with a task that you already know is impossible and you see no point playing further. Like making 40 with only 15 turns left.

Hadal Depth by RAC-Games 2021-04-28T20:52:19Z

Interesting! The mechanic where you have to recharge your power yourself is kinda cool but there were just too much randomness and you can end up dried out drawing no cards that recharge. Would have loved some deck building

Down the Mines and Ghosts by UnidayStudio 2021-04-27T17:05:00Z

Very interesting concept the art style is also really nice. There is also a lot of potential takeing this further. Maybe there could be future enemies somehow visible (Like reverse ghosts?) so you can strategize more and making intended multi kills with your future ghosts.

Burilka Pump by abvadabra 2021-04-28T17:56:04Z

That mechanic works very well and the endless aspect makes it also really interesting. I kept making bad moves were I walled myself in but that was just my fault. It has that on more try feel to it.

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-04-27T16:33:12Z

Very cool, the art style is lovely and the planets are very creative! Just the gameplay was not particular interesting to me

Dungeon Painter by IanTheBee 2021-04-27T16:12:33Z

Very cool, its a great concept and has a nice simplistic look to it. There was interesting painting game with that mechanic in FPV before, something with Swan in the name I think though less focused on platforming.

LD49 — Unstable

Jingoku by Skyeward 2021-10-12T13:26:53Z

Wow, crazy! Especially for the fact that that are so many games in one and that all made in only 3 days! All the mini games also feel really polished. The first 10 games or so I was thinking I will not win a single one but then I got the hang of it and finally won some of them. Getting a game a second time helps a lot there.

St. Eugene the Resolute by bwalter 2021-10-05T22:14:25Z

Those are excellent goat sounds. I'm however not an goat expert but from at I know that is exactly what a goat sounds like. The game is really fun its just that I'm way to impatiant and keep doing high risk far jumps. I guess letting the player jump already when its touching the ground would change too much of how it plays

Rumble by BrothersT 2021-10-06T11:55:09Z

Thats a really cool idea and I love that unique cute style! A bit too stressful for me pesonally. I wonder how it would play if you could go up and down without the stairs. Maybe earthquakes would create holes in the floors that would let you traverse faster which in return would still give you a fighting chance it badly destroyed buildings. Another thing I noticed is that it feels quite unsatisfying leaving a level with a wonky damaged building. Maybe some kind of end animation where the earthquake alarm turns off and the character auto repairs everything in a speed up time.

Babel by Gaming Night 2021-10-09T14:08:18Z

Really cool idea and fun gameplay. I just wish it was a little bit more forgiving. As soon as it tips a little there is not much chance to work against it anymore. It could be that I just need to be much more patient and keep a close eye to the angle though.

You Can Not Start This Game by PartTimeIndie 2021-10-06T12:40:34Z

I could tell right from the start you are German. I couldn't tell anything else that was happening though. In conlusion that menu could use some work in usabillity. Some really cool ideas in there. I just wish the solution was to smash all keys on the keyboard at once.

Solar Colonies by Fenderbate 2021-10-09T14:23:28Z

Interesting concept and nice pixel graphics. Could use some work on balancing though. At first my planet constantly drifted between too hot and too warm even though I placed everything needed. Then I snatched the few people that sometimes appeared and kept building those machines that stabilize it then there was not much to do except snatching more for houses but the population never got higher than 15 anyway and after the 10 minutes it says I failed. No idea why though, temperatures was centered and O2 max. Its very easy to accidentally erase something when you just want to pick up people. Maybe putting the people more on the inside or letting the player zoom in would improve that. Reaching some goal, like its stabilized for some seconds while the population is high enough might be more fun than waiting for a timer.

Haywire by Firebelley 2021-10-09T16:54:43Z

Really cool, love the whole idea. I had fun but there is a frustrating bug where it keeps shooting even though I did not press anything. Maybe related to firefox and the web build. Or its some mechanic I missed

Immortalizing unstable beginnings by Vhalenn 2021-10-06T12:06:16Z

That is a great and the execution is also really good. The F1 and F3 keys don't seem to work in firefox. I couldn't find any huge meteor to photograph. Maybe I would have needed the F3 key for that? I wonder what could be implemented to offer some kind of challenge. Like maybe some limited dodge thruster controls for avoiding rocks or some kind of recharging shield to protect against what the volcanos shoot out. But it is of course perfectly fine without any challenge.

Quantum Qitty by Mr.developer 2021-10-06T11:43:10Z

Sooo hard right of the bat! Yet I kept going much further then I thought because it is really fun! Very cool idea and great execution

Grabanakki by Saturnyoshi 2021-10-05T22:03:48Z

Great stuff! Its really fun I just wish I wasn't terrible at it. The only thing that would be a nice addition would be some sort of animation that show where you are aiming. Art style is also lovely!

AFTER SUN by rufson 2021-10-06T12:21:46Z

From the graphics it looks really polished the gameplay however could use some work. I found it rather tedious to lead the people to the ship without anything interesting to do except getting stuck on the ladder which appears to have some glitches or am I just bad at climbing ladders. (Maybe if the player would move x5 it would be much better) I also didn't understand why some of them won't follow me and I have to go multiple times. Furthermore I also didn't understand why everyone left the rocket as I left it and I have to lead them all in all over again. These are mostly easy things to tweak though except ladders, ladders in games are hard. The rocket was more fun and maybe a bit too much fun burning all the people in my wake instead of rescuing them.

Unsteinable by shakastrai 2021-10-06T11:33:45Z

Really nice art! The gameplay felt a bit too simplistic for me personally. Maybe more steps in creating the potions could have made it more interesting. Maybe some kind of color mixing mini game as the first step where you don't have to match it 100%. Then there could be also somethig with adjusting heat or physics pouring it actually in there. There is a lot of potential in the idea.

Deathrail by Hotowlgirls 2021-10-09T14:03:02Z

Fun little game. My brain needed some time to adjust to the multitasking but then it worked mostly fine. Some more variation in what to do would be nice. Ramps, half pipes left and right could work nicely with the balancing aspect.

That was a bit too much existential dread for my taste of games! I usually like my games shooting people and stuff you know.

But seriously this is great, I enjoyed having this little buddy around. He was gone too soon!

Akubi by Almax 2022-04-06T21:59:13Z

Wonderful pixel art. The gameplay is also really cool but I feel like there is more potential here to make it more unique. Playing through it for me was mostly about being fast enough. I think it would have been more interesting if there would have been strategy involved where to get the next fill up from and how to progress through the level with that in mind. It would be of course also much more challenging to make levels for that and more time consumning which is not the best idea for a game jam game.

Behold by auxC 2022-04-06T22:09:22Z

Really cool! Those pesky two eyed beholders are a real menace! I love the mix up with the mutators and the quick game play loop. I just wish they would be less of punch sponges I respect the ragdollness of them though. The art is also lovely!

Block or Bust by 100th_Coin 2022-04-06T18:23:54Z

That was a really weird experience. Also very educational and I guess historic documentation. Really cool, could have done with some more interesting challenge in that shooting/flying section imo.

Orbles by Rongo Matane 2022-04-05T19:53:03Z

Really cool to see such a more complex game and the art style is lovely! I found it a bit frustraing through. Mainly because there is no clear overview of what is happening, building can be hard with finding place and then connecting the roads but also an interesting concept. When the baddies already closed in a good amount and destroyed stuff it feels kinda hopeless to keep going. Maybe if they would vanish when they destroyed something and there are pockets of space where you can build again it would feel better.

BLACKSUN by Davide Rossetto 2022-04-05T20:45:38Z

The presentation is very cool but I'm having problems with the actual gameplay. At first I kept thinking I'm doing something wrong with assigning 1 of my 5 humans to each job but there seems to be no other way. When you get the farmer job it gets impossbile becauee you have no human to fill that job and there is no way to produce any without what the farmer produces.

Kalopsia by tailow 2022-04-05T20:17:21Z

Thats a really cool idea. Almost like basic modeling used as a weapon. The simple style is also interesting. I feel like more could be done with the level desing and using it for your weapon. Like different colored walls color the triangles which then need to match the enemie maybe. One thing that I found being wrong is that I could just draw a triangle on the floor to destroy the enemies.

Grave Danger by Erk 2022-04-06T18:15:54Z

Cool, is has an interesting style going that is not usual pixel fps. Gameplay is fun but most of the time I was out of ammo and searching for more. I think there could have been some more balancing on that side.

ClickToJump by Boathd 2022-04-05T20:10:46Z

What it doesn't nail in jumping grace it nails in the one my try feel! Its super hard though or I'm very bad

The Endless Night by Arivenzys 2022-04-06T21:52:13Z

The art is amazing and its an interesting idea! While the art looks super polished I think the gameplay isn't quite on the same level. I guess it just needs some more things to do to make it more interesting which might be too much ask for a small jam game. Still fun to play as well!

Don't Kill Your Darlings by scalliondelight 2022-04-05T20:05:43Z

Nice, I loved helping all these weird little critters! Loved their design, the gameplay was a bit confusing to me, took me some time to get that I need to drag drawers to creature and what that then does was quite a mystery but maybe that was also the point. I had no idea what I was doing and I had no idea what those beings were but thats ok. The heavy animation on the texts was pretty irritating though.

Unfaithable by Furano 2022-04-06T18:36:27Z

Looks great, love those wacky characters. It was fun but I think I didn't quite get the time traveling mechanic, it was pretty confusing to me. Is it like a second chance where you get dropped at the time right before your died and you can save you other self somehow?

DEATH AND TAXES by Gus Goucher 2022-04-05T19:29:20Z

This game inspired me to do my taxes! No just kidding.

Unlike taxes this was a very pleasant experience! Fun I should call it. Simple but really cool with an unique spin. One thing I noticed that the boss going down the stairs is not more than a timer maybe some gameplay element that slow him down could be interesting like you can make him getting a call or something.

Climate Crisis by Wilko 2022-04-06T18:52:54Z

Interesting, works really well considering the complexity. Low poly style is also nice. Could have used some more feedback and made more use of space I think. It seems you can just place anywhere except some on land and some on water. Maybe if there would be actual smoke clouds and then you also have to manage that by not getting to much dirty air in one region of the world would make it more interesting.

We Need To Talk by Doot 2022-04-06T18:10:27Z

Thats a very interesting take on cards games and the style is lovely. While the gameplay is cool I don't quite understand how difficulty and strategy works. It seems I could just take the easy cards and take my time with pressing the right arrow keys.

1 Man 6 Bullets by Raphaeltan 2022-04-06T18:02:48Z

Pretty dope! I love the gameplay concept, its very satisying to do a big combo! The only thing is that the comic art is so good that it want that for the actual gameplay as well which is of course tricky

Colony Defender by Henrik Ganard 2022-04-05T19:19:12Z

Cool concept. I really like scale of things! But needs balancing work with it being super easy to place a crap ton of guns that shoot everything instantly. I know the conundrum though, there is always something to do and balancing and testing the game is put off til there is no time anymore for it. The end state seems to be also missing when all made it through the portal.

Somnipathy by Cyzaine 2022-04-07T18:25:14Z

Damn, people having to do stuff on their phones is some serious buisness. What horror have we mutated to? Anyway, interesting weird little game. I like the art a lot, the gameplay could have been more engaging I think but it did the job.

Future me problem by noskro 2022-04-05T19:37:56Z

Nice simple physics fun and a good way to make something usefull of all the trash!

Delay the Zombies by Jesse Martin 2022-04-06T19:00:51Z

It feels pretty barebones but I can't say no to some basic zombie shooting. At some point it seemed to be more zombies than there are bullets but conveniently the zombies are not much of a challenge and have a hard time hitting me. FPS and especially AI stuff in these games is really hard!

Wait For It ! by Forgin Bits 2022-04-06T18:30:02Z

Cool, interesting style and some fun mini games! I think it can be a bit harder, most of the difficutly for me came from not quite knowing how the current mini game works.

Fuchsia by stasgrach 2022-04-05T20:33:55Z

Interesting idea but definately could have used more time on the execution. At first it glitched out or I accidentally pressed continue. I always had only a couple of seconds and was wondering what is happening but then started the game again. Most rooms by far seem to be free money or guess the cube which lacks feedback of what the outcome is. Fighting enemies felt also kinda flat missing feedback. But its a really interesting concept but might just needed more time to get to something fun involving some combat system and finding useful items and rooms that are not that basic with some variation.

Cold and Alone by David York 2022-04-06T17:56:30Z

This is pretty cool! It really takes me back to the amiga days. It takes a lot of those limitations not always good but I think this works really well for a jam game. Not much of cup of tea with all the reading and limited controls but its still appealing and feels unique in its own way.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Ten Sec Dread by davision 2022-10-05T19:57:55Z

Thanks for all the comments!

@Wouter52 and @Erlioniel ahh, sad to hear that you had problems. What you can do is press Alt + Enter to go into windowed mode which should also fix the ratio. Scaling the window then smaller is a bit tricky though. In the game you can zoom a bit outwards using the mousewheel.

I think the main issue with ressources is the destruction and the clock being made out of a 1200 piece physX destruction asset. I should be able to make a patch with reqular grahics options though.

Ten Sec Dread by davision 2022-10-08T18:57:24Z

Updated it with a fix for the aspect ratio cropping and also added options with setting default graphics lower. Playing with gamepad is now also possible

Ten Sec Dread by davision 2022-10-13T13:56:26Z

@johnnysix Thx, yea, staying away from a combo explosion is a good rule of thumb to avoid getting launched into the void. I might make that more forgiving

@demogia-av Thx, if you would rotate the clock instead the interesting part of the environment changing would become meaningless. Yea, pumpking explosions force can be extreme which is simply because the force add ups per amount of pumpkins in radius. I would have to come up with a custom system to get better control over that.

@durkagames Good point with the green light, I might just need to make it more to the front.

@epicgamefan Optimized for maximum graphics

@perrin The environment can make it harder to navigate but if you are doing well from the get go it can stay easy. Might need to add something for that.

@jrevel Controls are that way because you can also drop pumpkins without them exploding. Mouse is required in any case for aiming and grabbing the object you want. Its a bit much for an arcade game but adds a lot to the physics aspect of it all. I guess what I could do is getting rid of having to hold a mouse button. Yea, physics are hard to predict which comes down a lot to the orbiting nature of it or rather gravity to the center. One easy skillshot to do is throwing at a floating pumpkin to let it fall down there. How far you hold the object away from you also controls the force it gets thrown to some extent. The knockback is just add up of the force of amount of pumpkins in radius. It adds up to a lot because I wanted a single one to be significant. Maybe I will still find a good solution for this. For the clock arrow you just have to multi jump a couple times. You can actually infinite multi jump but often going the other way around is the better strategy. Yea, combo system came later into play and its hard to do anything with lineing up bc of that very small time window. Not really a chance to tweak that 10 seconds value. What you can do is pushing the floating pumpkins but that only makes sense when you have that extra time left. You can also push the pumpkins on the ground but again the time is running fast. Thanks for the feedback!

Sneak Guy by bwalter 2022-10-06T00:01:14Z

That is a really cool down to the basics stealth game while also having some interesting abilities. I however do not posess the patience for stealth. I somehow made it to the stage where you need to get the key. Definately was not sure when they would be able to see me. Is it that they see you when they are too close when its daylight while you are hidden behind something? Would be nice to have more indication for the hideing

The Sandwicher by Antti Haavikko 2022-10-05T23:50:14Z

That is a fascinating gameplay concept, really makes you think what would otherwise be a mindless arcade game. It took me a bit at first wrapping my head around how it works. Also has that only one more time feel! The art is really cute!

Sally's Scribbles by Enjl 2022-10-05T23:40:12Z

That is a cool idea! My art got more and more abstract, some may say it got worse but my customers kept being pleased so I trust their judgement. I made it to day 12 and 600$ but then I discovered I could not buy anything with all that money so I quit my hard job at an artist, I had fun though.

To Catch a Wizard by badcop 2022-10-05T13:38:12Z

Really cool concept and clever level design! A bit frustrating at times but then again its only 10 seconds you have to redo

Definitely Not A Pyramid Scheme by davision 2023-01-11T15:49:46Z

@nullval Thanks it actually had some pretty nasty bugs in there which I have now fixed.

@zungryware That with the failed move debug text is just when you try to move in the opposing direction into the chain which results in a bump. The falling between triangles is just the collision of the leading token. So you could play risky by leaving space between them. The size is directly relative to the earnings that person gets. For the red ones its the amount of minus they have. The triangles you get are the red minus people which have the same kind of scaling. You could see the numbers for those things mentioned at the top but its not really important other then that you want to have a positive cut when you pull out by touching a green pyramid. Triangle placeing is kinda bare bones because I didn't have the time to do anything elaborate with collisions. I also wish I had the time to do some explanation and tutorial. I now did something on the game page though with tutorial images. I also fixed some bugs which made the whole thing more confusing then it should be since the scaling was buggy as well as some math and displaying. The tutorial should clear that up with the theme. If you mean the collideing klling you and the theme connection you could take it as the the people in minus finding out where their investments go and then the whole stick falling apart. Pyramid schemes are fragile after all

Definitely Not A Pyramid Scheme by davision 2023-01-23T12:36:48Z

@pkenney Sad to hear. No clue what is going on there. The downloaded build also worked for me. Radeon 590 should have no problem with UE4. Maybe I figure it out for the post jam version.

LD54 — Limited Space

BLOCKIES by Ayxs 2023-10-08T18:05:57Z

Nice to see another spin on Tetris! I also really like that you removed any time pressure as well and made it all about puzzleing. Some those shapes feel a bit much complex though. There also seems the issue that you can hide not filled space with your shapes never knowing why a layer is not filled. Otherwise its really fun! The game features aspect it also a nice touch, a real feature creep!

Textris by davision 2023-10-05T12:10:50Z

Thx everyone for playing!

@baubau yea, basically. Every round it goes through all the possible spots with something below and checks all possible letters for each. Those that can fit get rated how good they fit. Finally it selects a random one from the best rated letters and their tested position. It is pretty much brute force testing a lot which is also why you get that lag every start of a round

@dede333 That is very odd! Did you press . on the numpad by any chance? That does not register as . and instead as num . in UE4 but also not the dev console. I made new version now where I deleted all console keys and made it on num 9 instead. I also added more keys possible for . including num . and *

Different language keyboards can also be problematic with UE4. I have a german one and there is no num . on the keyboard and instead num , but it still registers as num . in UE4.

Textris by davision 2023-10-09T11:19:59Z

Thx everyone for playing! It has become very clear that the game needs a tutorial badly!

@AXLplosion I'm glad you enjoyed it that much! Also great to hear about the sound, it might be my first game where I also focused on that.

@exofrenon Thx, yea, a tutorial is now on my to do list. Making it clearer with the grid highlight is a good idea!

@real-flamingicecubegames There actually was a bug in the past version where you could only place a letter on the wrong place. I had fixed that since. Now, you could theoretically play everything perfect.

@fizzbark Basically you only have to choose which letter to put in which highlighted space, its like 3 letters and 3 spaces and if you choose perfectly everything fits perfectly. If you however just put a shape on the first space that fits but could also fit somewhere else you could mess up your other choices, so you kinda have to look at all the spaces first and plan it out a bit. Great to hear you like the music that much! I'm also very happy with it, sometimes when making music things just fall in place, making the game however was a real challenge.

@lincolnsalles It goes against several expectations so it can be confusing. See my response to fizzbark above for a rundown of how it works.

Textris by davision 2023-10-11T11:24:57Z

@daxtear You got all the way to 5 letters per round and it was still a breeze? You might be made for this! I like to add more difficulty for later rounds but I don't want to add any time pressure. Maybe as a separate mode though.

@phillips-albright Thx, I made a little quick start tutorial here for now that should cover the main confusion. I'm also working on improving those grid outlines and making it more clear where letters will be placed.

@hidden61ade Not sure if I understand pre-select-and-place mechanism but I don't want to get rid of being careful with writeing the first letter and having to plan ahead a bit.

@F1Krazy Thank you for mentioning how complex the system must be! Because it really was a lot of work and a lot of figuring things out. Maybe where most of my programming work went into

Tetranome by Random-storykeeper 2023-10-04T16:54:57Z

Great to see another game inspired by Tetris but with some some unique twists! We even both made it so that the shapes fall from the camera onto the playing field. Really like the many layers of strategy involved here! The pixel style also fits really well. One thing that could be better is seeing what happened on gameover instead of immediately changing the screen

Bucket Buffet by Don Fouts 2023-10-08T18:25:01Z

Fun little physics game. That food is also looking real tasty! It seems there is missing some gameplay inbetween buffet and table because right now you can just take a single piece and move super fast inbetween

AnathemA by 3mpty 2023-10-08T18:19:11Z

This game is oozing with the creepy mood! Pixel art is also lovely! The game upgrades are all interesting and no boring percentage stuff which you get in so many games. Fun little game!

Whack-a-Soul by JavaSaurus 2023-10-08T17:54:23Z

I had me at cute skeleton, also a fun little game. The concept is really cool but it seems its much easier to keep a small island high and to not bother trying to get the whole playing field up. Maybe it would work better if there a things you can pop to get more land again, while treasures also spawn in the air. Retro style and feel is also really cool!

Midnight Racers by LoicLeGrosFrere 2023-10-04T17:02:00Z

Even though I only had to press forward it seemed impossible to catch up to the rival. Maybe it has something to do with the web build and framerate? Controls also felt floaty. The concept is cool though. The artstyle looks nice and unique

Booze & Row by Gonzo13 2023-10-04T16:34:13Z

The artstyle is great! The gameplay was a bit too chaotic for me. I'm not much of a bar fighter in the first place though. I was missing a drinking animation

Calves of the Braves by Furano 2023-10-08T18:10:47Z

Lovely little game! Suprisingly complex for such simple controls, that AI must have been also hard to make work that way. The art is also really cool and unique!

Slugs by inque 2023-10-08T17:38:53Z

Its really fun! Much like the og snake but the competition and the shrinking area adds a lot it. I also love that is not just simply shrinking and instead growing as well which creates some interesting play space on random. The camera drags a bit too much when going too much into one direction, its also interesting though

Test of Vision by Feesh 2023-10-08T17:05:16Z

Interesting artstyle with that pencil drawn look! Game definitely feels very incomplete. That lack off attack animation is a bit jarring to me. Otherwise it looks like the start of an interesting game

The King is Watching by Tvorojok 2023-10-04T16:41:20Z

Suprisingly complex for such a small game in such limited space! The pixel artstyle is also lovely! I also really like that unqiue mechanic with the sight area

Homeonaut by Its_Capp 2023-10-08T17:45:30Z

Cute litte game! Nice touch with window moving with the player. On 4k you can move out of the background texture though. I think some visual for the boost would be great, like a highlight when you would kill anything you touch

Par None by Bosco 2023-10-08T17:22:08Z

This is a very cool idea and great execution on it! It was my first time playing a hole so it took me a bit of time to get used to it but then I excelled at being an hole. I also love that you can swallow golfers. Another interesting possibitliy to increase difficulty could have been that the hole gets bigger over time. There is one thing that could be better which is the multiplier text becoming really big when over 100 and being in the way of view.

Fit In Bed by SelkieHarbour 2023-10-04T17:07:52Z

Thats a really fun concept. It gets complicated really fast! Complicated humans and their cozy sleeping needs. The artstyle looks great as well!

Out of Space by aznoqmous 2023-10-04T16:48:37Z

That whacky art is really cool! The game concept is also nice! It was a bit confusing at first with dragging it out to increase amount of people to send bc I expected it to be the the launch speed to reach further planets. Its also not as easy as you expect from the rather cute art

Rogue Rails: Fractured Cargo by Phillips Albright 2023-10-08T17:14:03Z

Really cool idea! Played a bunch of these backpack packing games recently and this is an qunique spin on it. I also love the fact that you can throw bodies out of the window of a moving train

Caged by light153709 2023-10-08T17:33:07Z

Nice! I love that artstyle, its very retro pixel but also has that unique touch to it! Gameplay is a bit simple. I feel like you don't really have to move once you figure out you can release right mouse before aiming. Could be really cool with some more work on it though
