I like the graphics, but I agree it was a tad hard. Maybe having a continue mechanic might have helped out with that. Overall it was pretty good.

Yeah I'm working on a post compo version where you just use the pause key and then up/down increase/ decrease your speed. I was only using the pause key when I was making it so I didn't really notice the control issues with left/right.
lol not sure about releasing this on mobile I'd probably get sued into oblivion by the space invader owners :D. I'd love to do that though. I'm using libgdx so it'd be super easy to port to android!

I kind of wish your player moved with the moving platforms, that water part was difficult because your character stayed still.
Took me a little to clue into what was going on, but once I did I really liked it.

if I might suggest one thing it's that a flatter first level might have clued me into the fact that you have to stomp on the guys heads, as it was didn't immediately clue into that fact and kept dying.
All in all though, a really innovative idea!

Would have liked to have seen a bit more progression in the mechanics, but otherwise it's perfect.
I like that the clouds go transparent when you're under them. That's attention to detail :D

Really well put together. The music reminded me of Doom! Gravity was pretty strong for some of the jumps but I really liked it overall. Reminded me a bit of Metroid.

I'm not sure if it was just me but the mouse didn't line up with my system mouse and sometimes it would click outside the screen. It only messed me up on one of the games though.
The back and forth of the ship is a really interesting mechanic. I dig it.

There's an auto collector that you can buy on the 3rd level. The coins will float to your mouse pointer.
I would have liked to make the mouse pointer upgradable so you could collect more than one coin at a time. Like 1,3,5, etc. But I ran out of time.
Alas there were a few ideas like that, that I didn't get time to explore.

Could have used a high score and maybe a dodge button.
You could add onto the powerups idea by adding different attributes, I think you tried to do that with the slo mo. But I never really felt challenged enough to warrant slo-mo.
Definitely adding a greater challenge and a dodge button would have made the slo-mo more effective.
All in all though, well polished good looking game.

I might suggest adding a small timer that starts after you leave a platform and if you press jump within that small time you can still jump even if you're not grounded.
That usually makes the jumping a bit more forgiving, which I found a tad difficult.
Wall jump was way too hard, but I did like hand drawn art.

Did get stuck in a pocket of bodies, so I had to restart, but managed to keep a neater pile the next time and was able to escape.
The bombs sometimes spawn and there is no way to reach them in time. Don't put it on a page with ads. Do elaborate on the game a bit more as the concept was interesting.

I thought this was a fun little tetris-y-puzzle game
I think I had a hard time conceptualizing in my mind how to line up the blocks. But eventually you can work it out pretty easy.
If you take this into a post jam game, I wonder if playing around with making the first few levels a smaller grid would help that?

If you run into issues, make sure your controllers are unplugged before starting the game up.

This is a really tight platformer! Extra props for adding a variable jump height. You should add some music and release this!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the feedback. If you're wondering about the theme tie in. The Zeno that have red eye will morph into other xeno. You may have just killed them before they do that. :( sorry if it's not clear.
I like it! If I had one suggestion it might be from a level design standpoint you might have introduced the duck mechanic in a non-threatining situation before testing it with the first enemy. I died a few times before realizing I could duck under the shots.

I find cutting gravity and using a small force to accelerate the player upwards when jump is pressed and then cutting it when jump is released. That usually works better than using a large impulse to make the player jump.
Anyways, cool entry. I like the graphics!
