Great graphics, sound, and atmosphere, but the game was really slow for my taste. Played about 5 times. Commenter saying these characters' universe should be explored is right. =)

Ok, now that I finally beat it, I can appreciate it a lot more, although I still think the pace is rather on the slow side — even the clicking actions and dialogs and whatnot got rather irksome after a while; that said, a very pretty game with some clever ideas. Good job!
Instructions would be awesome! =D Otherwise, fun graphics, dude!
Very cute =)
Can't get it to work on my mac. Screen eventually goes blank before game begins. =(
lol, I don't get it.
I really enjoyed it! Like the Tenori-on! =)
lol, this game is pretty brutal, but in a good way. I'm not even totally sure what's going on, but I like it. =)
Oh geez, it gets tricky pretty quick for dumb ppl like me haha ;)
lol, that was pretty minimal
lol, potato mode was pretty funny
Holy crap, there are a lot of levels! I feel like I've played at least 8! And that one level where you had to fall precisely into end teleporter was freakin HARD! lol! But seriously, very charming game. I still haven't finished it, as I have things to do in the real world, but the music and graphics were fun. And escaping those ceiling things is scary!!! =D
Oh yeah, and I agree 100% with Martze. The ceiling should either wait to smoosh you on the ground or be electrified or something.
Oh wow! What an awesome idea! I'm super impressed. Innovation = 5 stars for sure.
Wow, awesome game — 5 stars for all. My only issue is that I believe the manual says to click to collect potatoes, which was confusing since I started using my mouse.
lol, awesome idea! But I got stuck in a pit!! Wah wah
lol, this is silly
lol, I like the idea a lot; and I really love how foreboding the music is at the beginning! I just wish extra balls came a little more often. I kept losing them when I got a 7-10 split (so to speak) and could only save one of them. oh yeah, and I got a noob rating lol! =D
lol, if you think easy mode is tough, you should try hard. That said, Doom/Quake difficulty naming convention is probably appropriate — Normal, Hard, and Nightmare lol. Regardless, it was pretty fun, especially for such a simple game!
BTW - the Windows JAR works just fine on OS X!
34.56s was my best. Wow, that was tough! Cool idea! And great implementation of visual minimalism.
lol, awesome graphics. I especially like the various jumping animations haha
Ah, no, the music doesn't work on my mac. It would really help!
Web version didn't work for me =/
I really liked the very minimal moments of the music. It set a nice mood. I got up to a point where the globes didn't have anything more to say. Wasn't sure if there was something for me to do next. The diagonal pixel art style is also pretty interesting!
That was really fun! Cool idea, too. I'm not sure if it's even possible to win on medium (let alone difficult), but uh... yay!
Just saw that you got linked to from kottke.org. Congrats!
Source?
lol! Hilarious and disgusting! I wish I knew what constituted hiding, since I ended up with a "Quilty" verdict. lol
Oh der, now I get it. lol, the chalk outline thing was confusing for me, since it wasn't used in a way that corresponds to how it's used in real life. The chalk outlines are to indicate where the body was lying when found. Maybe if you had to stuff the body into a garbage can or trunk or vat of acid or something lol
lol, hilarious, esp the music. I wish the collision with the "koopas" weren't so floaty, but it's fun =)
Oh man, great graphics, but seeing all that DJ gear REALLY makes me want to hear sounds! =D
Hahah, that was awesome! I really enjoyed it! 143,000 pixels! Wooo! I really liked the wall-jumping mechanic — simple, but effective. The only problem I ran into was that sometimes I would go right through walls, but otherwise very solid. Weeee =D
Oh yeah @acronaut — yeah, the magma level was pretty brutal! Oi!
Holy crap, that's really cool but really really hard lol. Honestly, it took me a minute to figure out where the heck the game was. Regardless, awesome idea. I just beat hop skip whatever, which was definitely the hardest so far. At one point, I tried being clever and used the same approach as in polarity, but that wasn't working that well for me! lol. anyway, awesome job! =D
Haha, thanks, ppl. I know the potato is kind of dumb looking, but it was kind of our mascot at our jam gathering place where someone brought some real potatoes! lol
Thanks for playing! And thanks for the feedback! I'm aware that the game is occasionally impossible. I didn't quite get to the point to fix the logic for that, although since potatoes drop at different speeds than the hearts, I generally can swing around the speeding spuds. lol =)
What are ppl's high scores? I had one really good run while making the game where I got a bit over 50,000.
Yeah, someone else mentioned to me IRL that they didn't realize they were jumping. I was going for a different feel that was more "flow-y," but am not 100% sure how best to implement that idea. This was the best I could do for now! =D
lol, @CagedRat: regarding social commentary, I actually wanted the player's character selectable, but I didn't get that far. Way to go me for maintaining patriarchal norms! haha
lol, yes, those are potatoes, but I actually like the egg idea. Something to meditate on.. Hmmm
And yes, in-games instructions would be good.
BTW, thank you, everyone for your kind words! You guys have also made a lot of cool games! This was definitely the most fun I've had doing Ludum.
On another note, you may have noticed that the music stutters a touch when it loops; and I haven't been able to figure out what's causing it. Maybe Flash / Stencyl doesn't handle the looping process properly? I dunno. Hmmmm
That's funny that you mentioned Kid Icarus, because I didn't consciously think about it, but now that you mention it, it played a part. When I was deciding on the background color, I was definitely thinking of the original NES version of the game versus the weird version I have on my 3DS with "updated" graphics that are usually/frequently rather tacky; and I'm definitely influenced by the early NES games with very simple title screens on black backgrounds that get to the point immediately, Kid Icarus included.
Great observation!
You know, you can go around potatoes, even if they're on top of hearts lol. I know this isn't a masterpiece of gaming or anything, but maybe you suck at video games? lol
mildmojo: yeah, you're absolutely right. I was building for iPhone resolution; and it ended up being a bit too big for most computers.
Really liked the idea, but was a bit confused by what was going on. Graphics and title are great, too!
Very interesting idea!
Hey guys! Glad to see the finished product after jamming at the MADE this weekend! =)
Haha, oddly charming. Not super easy, but cool idea. I like your graphics — I think your palette is what's working for me. It would be a good idea to tell ppl that they need Chrome (or whatever). Didn't work for me in Safari. Yay!
Link not working for me! =(
lol, kind of hilarious; and yes, the music is funny too (in a good way) =)
Couldn't get it to work on my mac =(
lol, that was awesome. Never thought I'd see this kind of game based on Brave new World haha. And holy poops, it's really hard at 146 lol
Cool graphics and interactions, although I wish there was a little more for me to do! lol
Haha, this was surprisingly addicting! I'm only shy of two achievements! Any hints as to what the secret achievement is?
Oooops, wrong account. That was actually me.
Haha, no worries. Looks like trying to make a game after the official LD weekend doesn't work very well.
Oh crap, you're right. I was in such a panicked rush right before the deadline that I never swapped out the temp textures for the real ones. But I'm not sure why you're implying I took the music from somewhere. I probably spent more time on the music than the programming haha.
Ok fixed wrong textures. Reloading may be necessary.
