LD24 — Evolution

EvolBots (not EvilBots) by vigrid 2012-08-27T02:45:00

I thought this was rather fun to play, I played several levels just having fun with the swarm mechanic. I liked the design of the little ball-guys as well.

On the other hand, I never really figured out what was going on besides the swarm/unswarm mechanic. The mutations were supposed to be negative, but I never saw any meanigful effect.

Survival of Polyminos by Kalabasa 2012-08-29T04:46:00

I really like the idea, although it takes a bit before it gets interesting.

Involucion by elxris 2012-08-28T01:55:00

I quite liked building a little ecosystem out of these things, surprisingly entertaining.

Cubevo by NostraDamon 2012-08-28T03:02:00

Very cool game! Played through to 100%, the revealing the world mechanic proved a bit addicting.

Oculus Battalion by Maxium 2012-08-29T04:41:00

It was fun to play, and I thought the graphics were charming.

Yellow Dog by Barry Abrams 2012-08-29T03:14:00

Great little game!

Red Underpants : Minislip and the strange helicopter by Bisou_TurboD 2012-08-31T05:35:00

I also can't run it because MSVCR71.dll is missing. On 64 bit Windows 7.

green & purple by Brian Crick 2012-08-27T02:24:00

I thought the path selection was an interesting mechanic. The music was good as well.

I have no idea what the colored tiles mean, or why there were sometimes spikes. It seemed like the only thing to do was select for a path the the other ball. Pretty cool concept, but not much of a game.

Psychiatric Evaluation by ConflictiveLabs 2012-08-28T04:34:00

Great atmosphere and cool mechanics, even though I didn't find the way out.

LEVOLUTION! by xk 2012-08-27T03:06:00

This game was surprisingly fun, I played through the entire game. The levels had plenty of variation and were all quite enjoyable, except for the VERY slow moving platforms combined with spike balls. I liked the simplistic art style as well.

The only thing missing is how it relates to the theme. Your description says the level is evolving, but nothing in the game itself says what's going on.

raptor disaster by mes 2012-08-29T03:56:00

Excellent work! The graphics were especially awesome!

Lucid by Redream 2012-08-28T02:09:00

The jumping seemed a bit imprecise at times, but I really liked the style of your game.

LD26 — Minimalism

Pink Haze by jwin 2013-05-04T08:21:00

Thanks for playing it everyone! I'm glad so many of you seem to enjoy it.

It seems like my instructions were a bit lacking, however, so I added a tiny blurb to the description. Hopefully that will make it a bit less confusing when starting out.

minobi by Pixelboy_85 2013-04-30T02:15:00

Fun and stylish, I like it!

You Must Escape by GertJohnny 2013-04-29T05:24:00

Very interesting mechanic. I couldn't keep track of where I was while walking silently, but I enjoyed everything up to that point.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Doomsday Bunker by ZYXer 2014-04-29T23:11:00

My favorite game so far! This is a really fun little Nuclear Apocalypse sim, I played it for probably 45 min :). My only thoughts are that being able to build out more would be fun too - alcoves of hydroponics and things. Thanks for a great game!

Another Day at Work by Evil Scotsman 2014-04-29T23:44:00

Amusing. Reminds me a lot of the Stanley Parable

HammerHead in the Sea of Monsters by LTyrosine 2014-04-30T00:10:00

awesome graphics, and fun gameplay :). I did have a little trouble getting away from the crabs. didn't kill me just got stuck for awhile until i could get facing them

LD30 — Connected Worlds

APOLLO by graebor 2014-09-04T05:57:00

Very well done! It took me a while to understand how everything works, but it was quite fun after that.

Chromasis by jwin 2014-08-25T21:17:00

r0x0r: I added linux builds to download, but they're completely untested.

The Forgotten Day by Kuupu 2014-08-26T06:12:00

This was the most fun game I've played so far!

Pluto's Revenge by sandaz13 2014-08-25T18:23:00

I think I swallowed everything in your solar system.

Not bad for only a day's work!

Disconnecting People by Once Upon a Team 2014-08-26T04:38:00

Great game! I love the art-style!

Hold Please by AndyGusto 2014-08-25T20:22:00

Very unique take on the theme, I like it!

Badland Quest by Hempuli 2014-08-26T06:36:00

Very cool game! There's a surprising amount of atmosphere in this little world.

Also, riding the motorcycle while fighting off bandits was just plain fun. I'd definitely be interested in seeing more of this world.

Ex-Fraktion by Robotic 2014-09-04T06:04:00

Looks great, sounds great, fun to play!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

A.R.B.F. by Zanzlanz 2015-05-02T17:29:00

Great fun and the music matches the mood of the game perfectly!

Alien Headbang by Ted Brown 2015-04-20T04:45:00

Squishing them is so satisfying! And the art direction is awesome as well.

I am Gonna Smack You With My Words! by Marcos Rodrigues 2015-04-24T23:18:00

Very interesting idea, I like it!

Frazzle Dazzle by hexdie 2015-04-24T02:22:00

I love the concept, and it's fun too!

Flail Rider by jushii 2015-04-20T21:21:00

Very fun once you get the hang of it! And the style is just icing on the cake.

The Magical Piano Flute by lanza 2015-05-03T19:24:00

Loved it! Smashing yourself with a piano right at the beginning is both hilarious and a great way to explain the mechanics of the game.

News Flash by Sunsheen 2015-04-23T05:00:00

Excellent idea!

Pedestrian Mining Corps by mildmojo 2015-04-27T00:30:00

Pretty interesting, and now I want a chocolate chip cookie.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Terror Bird Feeding Frenzy by jwin 2015-08-27T02:02:00

@bakpakin: I added a Mac version in case you want to try it, but I don't have any way to test if it works myself.

Something deep by General 2015-09-02T20:14:00

Interesting idea, clean graphics, and pretty fun. The only downside is this it can take a while for a submarine/diver to get in range of another tentacle. It might be nice to release an attached tentacle, even if it had some penalty.

Vaguely related / random thought: the graphics remind me a lot of Nom Nom Galaxy. You might want to check out that art style if you're interested in ideas for adding to your existing style.

Hydra by JoeProgram 2015-08-27T16:51:00

Cool idea and well executed!

Cataphilla by Pomb 2015-08-29T18:23:00

Not entirely sure what I was doing, but I looked beautiful and sounded great.

It was enjoyable to just float around eating pips and listening to the music for quite a while.

Tactical Superiority by HuvaaKoodia 2015-09-08T20:40:00

Nice game! The graphics were pretty stylish and the missiles were fun. I would definitely play an extended version of this!

Sweet Dreams by hitchh1k3r 2015-09-05T03:32:00

Very cool idea! I liked the little art gallery at the end!

It was a little hard to figure out what I was doing until I entered the shadow mode, but then I couldn't go grab more toys.

The Trial of Tyrone Rex by Manky 2015-09-08T07:36:00

Wow, this was hilarious!

Excellent voice acting, and I love that you clearly used photos of plastic dinosaurs for the art.

Moon Base Shootout by Unept 2015-09-03T17:35:00

Great game, sucking things out the windows into space was an awesome mechanic!

Seasons by cbear_wallis 2015-09-05T01:39:00

Good game, but I don't think you should just abandon the theme. The whole point is to come up with a game that works with the theme. :/

BIG BAD WOLF by allinlabs 2015-08-27T00:49:00

Fun to play, the graphics are simple but stylish, all around a great entry!

Adula by conormn 2015-09-04T23:46:00

Stunning art style, I'd definitely play more of something like this!

GH4ST by Shaun LeBron 2015-08-31T05:11:00

This is an awesome idea, very cool to play with the AI and try to devise a strategy!

The levels in the post-compo do a good job of exploring the idea further, although I think it would take even more levels before I really felt like I got the hang of it.

Super Snack Time! by adsilcott 2015-08-29T18:38:00

Great idea, and the painted art style is amazing!

The Old One by Chris Olsen 2015-08-25T05:20:00

Wow, great looking game with excellent atmosphere!

#16 by dragseal 2015-08-29T17:50:00

Amazing job setting the atmosphere.

I was confused about the gameplay though. What does the ding sound mean? Am I supposed to just follow the girl at some distance? Why does the level restart, was I spotted?

Mr. Legs by alex bergin 2015-08-25T23:48:00

Took a while to get the hang of if, but it's pretty fun to play around with the physics. And the spider guy is pretty cute.

Run Ogre, Run! by CrazyMinnowStudio 2015-09-05T21:02:00

My pie!

Fun game, although a little more depth in the mechanics would improve it.

The Mammoth: A Cave Painting by inbetweengames 2015-09-05T21:13:00

Awesome storytelling, way to make something really unique with the theme!

Photographer by skarik 2015-08-29T18:11:00

Wow, really interesting idea! Hilarious to see the adventurers pose only to be a puddle of blood seconds later.

The phone interface is a great idea, but execution could use a bit of work. I wasn't sure commands to the adventurer were working at first while he was far away, some audio or visual cue that you gave the command would help with this.

Overall very innovative and funny!

Dude, Stop by Patomkin 2015-09-05T01:10:00

I love it! It's like the WarioWare of being a jerk.

Corruption by MapleQuest 2015-09-11T06:01:00

Very cool, I really liked the hand-drawn graphics!

Pusher by mikelovesrobots3 2015-09-05T19:46:00

Apparently I'm a huge jerk just because I pushed a couple people under speeding cars.

Simple idea, well executed, and pretty fun. I love the "woah" sound effect when you push the people.

Melody Muncher by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2015-09-05T00:50:00

This was awesome! Very fun to play and way more content than I'd expect for compo game (or a jam game for that matter).

UFO by Polyganz 2015-08-31T18:59:00

Awesome game, very fun to play! The simple, clean graphics look great as well!

My only complaint is that the flying sound effect is kinda screechy and got annoying fast.

Glauron by Frozen Fractal 2015-08-26T19:02:00

Very good game! The mechanics seem simple, but aiming and flying at the same time provides a good challenge.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Modular Destruction Labs by SecondDimension 2017-08-03T17:03:44Z

Great idea and a superb execution of it! The graphics, music, and sounds are all very polished and fit well with the kinda clumsy, goofy robot building. (The robot is clumsy, not building it. The drag-and-drop building was slick, simple, and just worked)

There's only one critique I can give; it felt like some of the levels needed more precise controls than what the robot (or my ability to control it) had.

Excellent game, and I'd definitely be interested to see what you do with it after the jam.

Galvanica by icxon 2017-08-13T18:43:28Z

This was great! The random events really make you worry about throwing something useful into the engine. It did seem like excessive bravado worked out better than a more reasonable approach (or at least it did for my run), but that just fits with the humor of the game.

I also liked how it listed all of your (questionable) accomplishments at the end, a really nice touch!

Supernode by Dustyroom 2017-08-13T17:58:21Z

This is great, a unique little puzzle game and an innovative take on the theme!

I really liked how simple the basic concept was, and how quickly it got challenging. The style is also superb; clean but with colors that really make it pop.

There are a couple minor issues I had: - Creating extra nodes helps reduce clutter as the game picks up, but I played a few rounds before realizing you could add nodes WITHOUT making sums. - Using the same color for multiple things can be confusing. I've mistaken 1-producers for 1-consumers multiple times because consumers all use the white color. (Yes, after a few seconds I realize the shapes are completely, obviously different)

Overall I really liked this, and hope to see more of it!

Yet Another Exhausted Day by Gao Ming 2017-08-02T06:00:09Z

This was great, such a hilarious take on the theme!

Great job on the animation as well, perfectly sells how much it sucks to get out of bed in the middle of the night!

B:/ Connected by AidanMarkham 2017-08-03T01:07:46Z

Very cool game! I like the command line for moving the robots and the changing camera for individual bots was neat.

The ending was more confusing than intriguing to me though. :/

Power Rod by sixteen 2017-08-16T01:51:01Z

Interesting game; I liked the idea, the art was cute, and the music was really good!

I did find the hook (block?) moved really slow, and sometimes it seemed like it took forever to get to a fish or battery.

ZapDune by diptoman 2017-08-07T02:55:45Z

Fast paced and hectic once things really get going!

This felt like a very cleanly designed game, it's got everything you need and nothing you don't. It made it easy to get in the flow of things when the enemies started showing up faster. I had trouble keeping up with the enemies, but never felt like I was actually struggling.

I do think some additional challenge could make the game even better, perhaps a new threat you need to prioritize with the existing enemies?

Anyway, excellent game and great job!

PowrConnectr by JOrbits 2017-08-04T02:08:37Z

Quite a fun little puzzle game! You did a great job introducing the mechanics throughout the levels and ramping up the difficulty as things progressed.

The only thing that I got confused about was one of the levels required multiple batteries to power a colored core. I'm not sure if that was explained and I missed it, but it did hang me up for a minute.

Sabotage by image_31 2017-08-10T06:09:37Z

Very cool idea! I liked laying the groundwork with the stealth portion and then finishing with the action.

It could use some better feedback for the player (how did sabotaging things help the assault?) and some sound effects would be nice.

Overall great job!

Nex Machinan by MestreRothLD 2017-08-07T03:28:24Z

Such a great little arcade game!

I liked how the energy bar forced you to jump into the middle of the enemies and collect the cubes instead of just kiting around them and waiting til they're all dead. I also really liked the way the new level popped in and the animation predicting where enemies would spawn.

I did have trouble aiming at enemies behind walls at the far end of the arena. This might just be a consequence of the camera angle, but it was WAY easier to shoot slightly in front of or behind them compared to enemies at the front of the arena.

Corrupted by Shess 2017-08-10T05:58:15Z

Really cool game, I was surprised at the depth of systems you built in such a short time!

Like others have said, some sound would really help with identifying what's going on.

Blitztanz by haette 2017-08-02T01:48:22Z

Cool mechanic! I really liked rounding up a bunch of bad guys then taking them out with one big spin around.

Vivid Sustain by faemir 2017-08-07T03:13:39Z

Cool idea, collecting the power-ups just to keep the lights on.

It could really use some feedback for bullet impacts and enemies dying; they just kinda ignore your bullets until they disappear.

DefXagon by Rothens91 2017-08-16T01:38:25Z

Seems like a cool idea, but I really had no idea what was going on. Some instructions or controls would help a lot in knowing how to play.

Spaced out by Simon Rahnasto 2017-08-03T01:47:35Z

Fun game, and the graphics look pretty good as well! I did find the off-track slowdown to be a pretty severe penalty though.

Despotism 3k by NikolayKuznetsov 2017-08-04T20:18:02Z

Great little game! Art, music, design all work well to further the bleak take on the theme. I thought it was a lot of fun to manage the throughout an deal with the changing requirements at each level.

My only complaint is that by the last level it seemed to be more "how fast can you click" than "how well can you manage these resources".

Power Core by AugusteTheClown 2017-08-03T00:51:53Z

Really fun idea! I liked that you have to choose whether the resources go to maintenance or defense.

Like others said, it does get easy too quickly. It was the most fun in the first half a minute or so when I needed to figure out what everything does and set up a basic defense.

Coffee Hero: Powered by Coffee by Guilb 2017-08-02T03:58:06Z

I liked this take on the theme! The graphics are also great; simple but have lots of personality.

It could probably use more explanation or a tutorial, it took me a bit of trial-and-error to understand what all the machines were doing and what my goal was.

Supermarket Slap by nerdyHerbivore 2017-08-16T02:09:01Z

Cool game! The art was great, sounds were good, and it was a really innovative idea!

The physics made it really frustrating to actually play though. I never quite got the hang of grabbing things, let alone putting them in the cart.

Dont ask me to stop being a outdated junkrobot by Ludic Studios 2017-08-02T04:19:00Z

Awesome game! It's a ton of fun to slash away at the swarm of bad guys and the special attack was satisfyingly powerful. The music was great as well.

I did have a bit of trouble telling when I would hit the enemies at first. I repeatedly would swipe at them where I though I should hit them, only to miss and have them kill me an instant latter.

Qwik by Sno0w 2017-08-04T02:53:18Z

Nice simple-but-fun little racing game! I liked the graphics, very clean and not distracting.

The game could use a bit more variety though; after a couple laps around the tracks I feel that I experienced everything.

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-02T01:26:14Z

I really liked the vibrant but simple art style!
