Link is broken!
Like the above, broken link.
You probably forgot to make your page public
As with others, the link goes to a 404 not found page. I checked your itch.io profile and it says you haven't posted anything so I'm guessing the entry might be saved but not actually published? I'll check back later to see if this has been corrected.
The link should be fixed
Good game! I really like the "engine" trail effect. Nice menu layout as well.
I really like the physics. The title 'Qwik' is aptly named. This is something I can see becoming a popular browser game, on sites like Kongregate/GameJolt/etc; it just has that immersive and challenging quality to it :)
I had a good time playing, it was hard to get used to the drifting.
This was fun! There's a lot of satisfaction in a nice simple racing game like this. The 3D models were plain, but the lighting effects and the soundtrack really sell that neon aesthic. The only complaint I would have is that the controls were a bit hard to get used to, a lot of buttons all together in one spot made it tricky to position my hands well. Thanks for participating, and building this cool game.
Great flow with the music and the sounds! I enjoyed stage 1. I found the loss of falling off an edge was less of a blow then using the jump. I was able to fall off an edge, respawn, and fill my energy to about 75% of the screen, which appears to be max? Was able to play till time ran out. Jump felt too scripted in stage 2, too perfect of a height. I would have enjoyed a variation of gaps that required some skill to complete. Great to see all that you managed to complete as a solo dev!
This was fun and weirdly reminded me of the old racing games I grew up playing.
Something was super satisfying about the jump sound effect.
I thought it was a bit tough, and it seemed like some of the powerups were placed just to make you fall off the edge (as in unrecoverable locations where if you drive there you can't turn fast enough anymore to get back on track.)
Simplistic graphics with some nice lighting effects got the job done well.
One suggestion is to make restarting quicker - counting down from 5 at the beginning was unnecessary I think. A quick 3 2 1 or even just a READY -> GO would have worked and been less frustrating.
Take the frustration as a compliment though - I wanted to play again and dind't want to wait.
I love how the game controls! It makes you feel like you're right on the edge of losing control. One bug I did encounter a couple of times was where I would start to go off the track and then turn back into it, my car would get stuck in the track and I would be too low to get any of the power ups.
The controls were very concentrated on one side of the keyboard, making my right hand was very jealous of my left hand with this game. Moving at least the drift button over would have made the controls a little more manageable.
Second the cornering is very slow, making some of the turns extremely difficult, or else I didn't get the hang of it. On the second course, there is an S turn right after the last checkpoint before the lap marker, and for the life of me I could not stay on the track. I feel handbrake turning would be very useful in this case and would make managing the tight curves possible. Then again, I don't play much racing games other than Wipeout, so I'm partial to handbrake turns.
Despite this though the games aesthetic was great. The music was appropriate for the mood and everything looked great, but need to either make the controls a bit tighter, or ease the player into them with some difficulty ramping via easier initial levels where they can learn the controls better.

The game was overall pretty fun! A nice take on the theme, however it would have been nice if there was some sort of explanation in the game as to how one would play. Once i found it on the site, it was easier, but for the most part i had to figure out the controls and mechanics by chance. Just add that little bit on this site page on how to play to a tutorial level or help menu and i think it would bring this game the extra mile!
I enjoyed both the graphics and music, as i think you created a really nice techno racing mood. The controls were smooth and and the toughness of it was there just enough and not over frustrating. I do agree with Burgee on the powerups or some sort of variance in the gameplay other than just the track changing direction. Great game overall though! Keep it up!
Also, if you're really looking to do a collab on something just message me I'm willing to help
A good start to a racing game, the drifting felt a little harder to control than I'd like. The music is nice.
Hi, good little racing game. Th second level is really the level that I think worked the best for me. The only major issue I noticed is the controlling of the vehicle is pretty hectic, it doesn't feel sharp and rather sluggish. I think that with a couple more levels and a better driving system, the game would make for a really fun little racing game. I'm not saying you should've implemented those features during the jam, but for a post jam version, thats what I would improve. Anyways, good job and keep up the good work :)
Nice simple-but-fun little racing game! I liked the graphics, very clean and not distracting.
The game could use a bit more variety though; after a couple laps around the tracks I feel that I experienced everything.
This was a pretty neat game, I had a lot of fun playing it! Like Mindoo said, the second level was definitely better than the first. I think with a game as simple as this, it would have been fine making the first level a little more challenging, but no big deal.
I liked the music and sound design too, really helped with the neon/techno feel you were going for.
The things that I had trouble/think could be improved are pretty much already said by other people in the thread: * Turning mechanism could have been a little smoother, sometimes it was a bit hard to control given how quick (lol qwik) the pace of the game is * Power up placement was a little iffy in some spots, leading me into a guaranteed crash or flight off the edge * Graphics were a little plain, but given it was just you asking for more would probably be a lot to squeeze in
Overall though, really good job, especially for a first timer :)
very challenging. simple but nice art.
