Interesting concept and visuals. I did not quite "get" it as a game, but as an art piece it is fascinating. The mood was great.

Amazing! Love the update with the undo. Great tutorial, I could play this all day!
The camera and music really set the mood! I also like the pun with the theme. :)
Neat. I wish the fuel things could not be destroyed, I usually was unlucky enough to have the packs hidden by a massive clump of rocks.
Lovely graphics and music! Loved all the character art. Great job!
Great job! Impressive for your first FPS and Compo! I liked the graphics and textures. The music was appropriately intense. The goal was clear and mechanics were responsive. UI was clean, and gameplay was fun! Fantastic!
Nice effort, I think the flashlight needed a longer charge. I felt I could not make it very far even when using the "dim" setting. Good idea and start, just needs a bit more polish. I personally thought the mice were adorable!
Haha, I'm surprised I did not die as a red-shirted crew man! Funny concept, good graphics, and fun game play. Congrats for building your own engine! I did not get any sound though.
Great graphics! I liked the "shooting" and "reload" sound effects, but I would have liked a variety of zombie noises. Overall good game with a funny story.
I couldn't get too deep into the story, but the start of it seemed interesting. I did want to learn more about this evolos currency. I can't really rate the gameplay visuals, audio, or mechanics as these appear to be default RPG Maker, but I did like your map layouts, items, and special attacks.
I really like the artwork, especially the falling rainbow cow. Just like most people, I found the game play a tad confusing. Reading other comments, I think it may be because I was in the web version and did not notice the asteroid mines until much later. The description helped, I was just never able to get enough materials to build a shield in time. I also was unable to collect the stars and cows, not sure if this was intentional. This is a really great concept and I think making the ships and asteroids cause less damage would help. As soon as I felt like I had enough materials and mines, I would be destroyed. Lastly, please make a "back" button on the upgrade menu. I know it was the esc button, but sooooo many times I accidentally reset my game by clicking menu. :\
Love the name pun! Very frustratingly fun! The "lament" feature was the best. I FINALLY got the geezer out of the plant. :D Good graphics and fun game! Wished you'd had time to do an ending clip, though I did weirdly enjoy all the falling exit signs.
It took me a few tries to figure it out, but once I did, I really enjoyed your game. It was a nice twist on a tower defense game. Audio and graphics were basic, but got the job done. Very fun, I will play it again and try and last longer!
Lots of fun mini games! The first day I did pretty terrible on all of them, but by the weekend I had earned "three yachts and a spider." I think a tutorial on the mini games would have made this a lot better. Cute graphics though!
Very nice game! I was able to save her! I liked the duel timer mechanic (sun and battery). Would have enjoyed more levels. Maybe make a post jam version with more areas to explore, multiple batteries, and new goals. The music was awesome and really set the tone.
I have some nit-picky critiques, but overall I love the game. The bright red and pink of the characters looked to bright compared to the rest of the game, maybe make the color slightly more muted to fit the feel. Once the dialog went outside the text box. It was also possible to trap the zombie/monsters behind the table and just have a staring contest. I was also able to rest even though I had the battery in my inventory. Having the dialog say something like "this is no time to rest, I must get the battery installed." (Unless for a post jam version it is beneficial to ONLY change batteries as they are just about to run out)
I liked the concept, but this game really needed checkpoints (maybe post jam version). I liked that I was able to make it through the dark sections for a while with my glasses. The "can't walk on ice" thing weirdly made sense to me for the pants. I personally did like the mystery of what removing items did and enjoyed trying it out. Again, it was just heart breaking to have to start at the beginning again just because you removed the incorrect item. Art and music was nice. I liked that the little dude could rock undies and shades. :D
Cute graphics! Little tricky to figure out which obstacles are the "right ones." I like the concept of switching worlds though.
Loved this game! I narrowed it down to 50/50 and just had to pick. It said I chose poorly, but I wish it displayed the correct mutineer (really one of my only complaints). The game play is interesting and I adore your twist on the theme. I will be playing this multiple times. I agree with some of the other comments that a "kill" option would be great if you already figured it out, but still being sure is good before murdering. :) I also would have likes to choose my question each day to change up the order. On the first day, I asked one of the more important questions. However, since I did not yet know my crew, I sometimes did not get answers (either they did not answer when asked politely or were offended by bribes). The first day I would have liked the option to ask something less crucial, like about who their friends were, while learning the best interrogation technique. Great art style and music!
I like the cover art. I could have used more ammo to start. If you do develop this further, having more waves, verses a few scattered zombies would help with pacing (unless I just never reached the wave phase, my zombies kept getting caught on the walls). Great job overall.
Cute graphics and sounds. I liked how what you were holding changed based on the task at hand. I also appreciated the humor and realism. :D Apparently my family thinks I'm a bum because my bed is messy.
Great concept and twist on the theme.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Sorry you were unable to move. The physics went very wonky, and we realized much too late that our shopping cart needed to be much bigger to fit the pizza. :\
We had planned to have the list update your tally of cart items, but alas, just ran out of time.
Hope you still had fun with our Shopping Simulator! :D
Thanks everyone! Glad you enjoyed the humor with our totally-non-copywriten-child-named-Caillope. :D (But yes, Caillou fills me with rage as well.)
@badly-drawn-rod The hard to control cart just add to the "realism" we strove so hard to achieve. haha XD I would hope you don't bludgeon kids with quinoa in real life.
@thygrrr Not sure if you are joking, but I will have to try that with maple syrup... I am intrigued.
@thygrr Press L to bring up the list. Not sure about the shelves and products... they remind me of sleep-deprived versions of junk from my pantry. Oh and the music and chimes are original, so we wanted feedback on those (wish the sfx and music categories were different). We just ran out of time to re-record footsteps and "crash" noises.
@simple-ghost We hope to released a cleaned up version!
Very intense. Rare to see voice acting in a LD, and I appreciated the effort. I felt the trigger boxes for the buttons could have been a tad larger, occasionally I had to waste time readjusting in front of a button I thought I should have been able to push. I do like the spotlights on the active buttons, it made it easy to see which way to go. And I agree the intro should have been skippable. Overall cool game!
Cute concept and fantastic first LD entry!
I kept dropping the cows right before reaching the "energy bin." I think making the beam range a smidgen longer or possible stronger would make it easier. Or lowering the bin. :) Or making the current setting the "hard mode" setting and creating an "easy mode" for more relaxed play.
Great job getting single player and multiplayer modes working! I found both enjoyable.
Overall very cute and funny game. I loved the little carefree cows hopping around the field!
Interesting concept. I must say that first disappearing staircase really got me feeling the "anger" vibe of the room. It's been said before, but I wish the timer stopped when reading the narrative. I felt the grey "depression" area was really short despite me not rushing through it. Good game, even if it is a bit hard for my poor platformer ability.
Neat little puzzle game. I agree that the electron should have been more distinctive, but once I found it, I enjoyed figuring out the algorithm. Also not sure how the time limit ultimately effected game play except to maybe prevent me from calculating all outcomes. Sometimes, I was only one spot away from the goal! Were all the numbers random or was there an underlying algorithm?
Very addictive! I may actually get better at typing Benghazi and covfefe. So funny and awesome.
The story was great! The random events kept things interesting. I was never rescued, but Wilson and I made it pretty far!
Great job! If you take it farther you should add some pickups/power-ups.
Too me a while to get the timing and strategy down, but it was quite fun! The animation and art was lovely.
Oh man this was really beautiful. The images, music, and of course story all came together so well... Totally fits the theme as well. Heartbreaking in some ways, but so, so good.
The *only* thing I would have liked to have seen would be some sort of "epilogue" that shows the ultimate results of your remaining memories, though I know that probably wasn't super feasible for this jam. Excellent work.
I love this little game! The UI art and animations are wonderful. Very little to critique, but I would love some smaller buildings, a wave counter or other progress indicator, and for the blaster pew-pew to be a little quieter.
Overall great job!
Edit: Just read that you can rotate. Oops! I guess I missed that.
Great job on your first LD! I liked the idea of a erasing mechanic, but it felt a bit clunky. Maybe just a little animation, so I knew to keep spamming space, would help. I also wanted a restart button at the end, so I could retry. I was glad I got to read the story in the end though, I always felt a little bad separating the two ghost lovers. :D
This is incredibly charming. Love the visual style and the audio fits really well. Wasn't really sure where to go or what to do so I just kind of flew around shooting stuff and eventually found some enemy UFOs. My suggestion would be to add some sort of icon onscreen that points to where enemies are. Nice work though!
I loved this! I think having the quests really helped, I was a little overwhelmed and confused by the controls at first (took me a few "days" to figure out I had to arrow over to build my furnace since I just kept trying to add ores to smelt). Maybe just an additional quest or two, like "build furnace" and "power dill" would have helped. But even without these I loved this. Even little things like the pixel wind and the occasional respawn of materials made it feel like a complete first chapter of a bigger game. Great Job!
this is great. 10/10
I really enjoyed this! (enough to tweak with a house rule for future plays) I liked the 3 card rule for a harder/more strategic experience, but allowing one more move after he fourth card is dealt allowed for a more zen experience. I was able to get through almost all 52 cards with that rule. I am excite to see if I can get a clean ending where I gather the last checkpoints with the final move. I will add this to my repertoire of solitaire games! Thanks! <3
Very excited to dip back into Ludum Dare! It has been a while! Working with a lot of first-time jammers and doing it 100% virtual, so fingers crossed we get something complete!
Thanks! Would love to see some of your creations in the comments!!! And good luck finding the secret endings!
Thanks everyone! If we do something post jam we may make your health the timer and give ways to lengthen or shorten it. Thanks for the feedback, we had a blast making it!
snek snek snek thanks everyone! And thanks for the suggestions. I had a blast drawing everything and so happy to hear people liked the style. It makes the hours spent stressing on readability and individually editing letters worth it  :snake:
Sweet Game! Loved the music, art, and gameplay. Once I realized I could move forward and backward, it was much easier :face_palm: (I did make it to the higher tires on my self-imposed hard mode) This was somehow both relaxing and chill and incredibly stressful in the best way. Thank you for the checkpoints!
SO POLISHED! Wish you had time for an ending, but everything else felt clean. The music was such a bop too!
Very neat, I liked how the two parts fit together, very innovative!
Love this, definitely bookmarking to play more later, so polished and strategic
Do you like Jazz? :D I liked the double jump mechanic being the legs popping, cute and funny concept!
Loved the funny dialog with Eric, had a bit of trouble beating it, but still had fun! Sorry could not rate audio, my computer speakers aren't working... :grimacing:
This was really fun! The music was a bop, but I wish it was a bit longer before looping and the mountain graphics were a nice effect. I would suggest making the backmost layer with the sun not loop as I usually had 2 suns in the sky when playing (unless this was subtle worldbuilding that we are not on earth :D )
Lovely art and music, when I think even adding a North/South/East/West in the upper right quest dialog would help. Once I memorized where people were it was easier, but I did have to take Licorish multiple times in a row, so I think eliminating a quest from the list once you've completed it would make the dialogue feel fresh each time.
We made a game with rats delivering the plague, so I like to think your rat is in the same universe curing the people on which we're dumping fleas!
Cool two player, but agree with the "insane" difficulty. Love the idea and potential! Cops kept hiding under the houses and getting me
Once I understood, it was fun, but I agree with other commenters it would help if either the buttons had icons or the buoys/sub were numbered. I was confused after the tutorial since the first level has nothing resembling buoys and the 1-3 buttons did nothing. If you do add to this game, I think having a tutorial or one of the little crab commanders give me the objective the first level would help. I think this is a really good start with lots of potential!
I really like the music and art, especially the little comic type scripts.
Very Cute! I loved the little "yays" and the fact you could mail your hat. I did feel like sometimes the "bonking" was more forgiving than I expected, but overall played well with adorable art and music! I did find a bug if you play again after submitting a high score the Goblin is already mad and there are two hats :/
Edit! Wow and a high score table! Neat!
Loved the art style and the adorable little animation, I did like the subtle music changes too! Did the cat steal my bowl?! :D
Took me a bit to get figure out the bark distance, but once I did it was very satisfying. Nice take on the theme and cute graphics. Loved that the mailmen would sit in fetal position AND that they would still try and deliver packages reduced to black piles of pee soaked goo. Dedication. Very funny and cute game!
Very interesting concept! Top notch voice acting. Nice little logic puzzles that would be easier to expand in future, I would have liked it if while delivering the news, there was some audio or visual queue for when you got things correct or incorrect, like maybe you have images for the correct headlines and sometimes what you say does not match and the character looks confused or there are boos or something.
Loved "Shelleport" and just the chill vibes. Cute animation and town too
Good luck! Thanks for playing our game! Try and find the secret lair easter egg :D
So sorry! The .exe had a different permission than the rest. I don't know how that happened. Thank you for your patience.
Also just caught that the build is called Raodtrip... :/ This is what I get for scrambling to re-upload. It works, so please forgive the typo.
omg, super funny. Love the idea of using the microphone, although I could never imitate the meh-heh well enough, oh well found my target and had a blast
Made it to the legs end! My favorite part was the figure in the window, loved the atmosphere and simple gameplay. Can definitely see you fleshing this out more to tell a story, can see the beginnings of something good with the alien mentions. I figured it out, but it would probably be good to add a mention of how to set down the cables in the tutorial. I loved the inclusion of being able to look at Timmy's beautiful photo up close :D
Omg, the song is such a jam. Love this very fun and good level design
First things first, love the dictionary and the new language, wish the pdf could be accessed in game. It is really the star of the show. I think the hot/cold/signal gameplay is a little weak to find invisible packages. I found myself just trying to speed through that to get the next message to decode. I think you can definitely use the bright visuals and the language to make more of a papers please style game where the player can slowly learn how the language works and feel rewarded for picking it up. I got excited when I recognized shapes without having to look in manual. really good start of something here
Very fun and cool concept! There were a few times when the robots spawned in corners and instantly blew up, but hey I guess fewer AI robots in the warehouse to deal with :D
Hope everyone enjoys our game! We didn't have as much time this weekend as we'd hoped, but so proud of what we got done! Post your final scorecards so we can see how many "Doll Hairs" everyone earned.
finalDay.png
Thanks for playing! And sorry Nathmate, I kept moving the "middle" since I struggled to decide where the cursor's grab point should be. One of those things you don't normally think about until an issue comes up :D
Loved the atmosphere and relaxing gameplay, I did hit a bug in day two that hard locked me. I think having a clear way to restart level or reset waypoints would help. Also I loved the detail of having the button hover noise be seagulls. Subtle but very nice.
Love the gameplay, really innovative!
Very nice visuals and mood, needed a bit more to make gameplay a bit clearer. I found all the pages then couldn't figure out how to get them in the book for a while (I thought it was click and drag not click page then click book). I love the art style and sound scape! Would like to have been able to see what was outside the door just to see more of this world :D
Love the art style and the audio! Appreciated the visual representation of the sound too to be more inclusive
So polished! I'm impressed. Love the art and gameplay and the audio sets a nice chill atmosphere
