Nice small game! I liked the music and that one had to avoid shooting the batterypacks. Usually in these kinds of games you can't hit the powerups. Nice variation.

big pixels <3 good music
Fun game! I just miss a score counter, anyway nice entry.
Nice little game, sound and music are nice, graphics are not the best i ever seen but they did the job well ;) the game is simple and classic but it works !
I really liked that the movement relied on momentum rather than being instant stop/go. Makes it feel more like space :)
It was a very nice game ! Controlls are perfect, and add some challenge to the game. However the game is pretty hard to finish (or is it me that don't have any skills ?), and I don't know exactly what there is at the end :(
Musics are good, as retro as the graphics (that, however, are not wonderfull but well, it do the job !). AAlso I like that you can hit powerups !
Good job with the game. I enjoyed your use of the power mechanic , and the fact it was based only on your actions rather than just being a bar that slowly depletes over time. There were some good retro vibes with the art and music that made this game come together nicely. The ship can be a bit difficult to control but it is fun none the less.
Good job, I enjoyed the arcade feel a lot, I also made a game about breaking asteroids as well!

The inertia is too big, maybe it was intended, but it makes the controls more difficult.
Absolutely fantastic! Great game
Fun game, could have done with a score counter though. I liked that you could shoot the powerups and that shooting reduces the ship's power essentially doubling the impact of a bad shot.
Really great game! Very challenging, but in a good way. Attempting to collect the energy cubes while still avoiding asteroids is really difficult but feels achievable, which is perfect. This kind of challenging gameplay, especially together with the short play time, and instant restart makes it quite addictive. Graphics are simple but effective, and the sounds and music are solid. I like the way the power limitations force you to be a bit more tactical and choose between just shooting everything and manoeuvring your way around. Excellent work!
Laconic and Solid. I like your idea to use thrusters at "Asteroids" to fit the theme. Yea and inertia is GOOD to show it :p
Thanks for the feedback guys. @hishicorne: After 60 seconds you get home... ;-)
I WOOON! Good difficulty to get you hooked :D We played like half an hour to win this.
Fun game - a hybrid of Asteroids and Space Invaders. Tough - it took me about 20 tries to win it. I liked the controls and the music. It seemed a little unfair that more asteroids showed up in a direct line with you - it felt like they should be random - but maybe that was needed for the challenge. Nice work - a fun one.
Nice pixel arts game. The name was kinda misleading. In a good way! The story setup was very well executed. The game play was good, but too tough for me^^ I gave up after a quarter hour. 60 seconds can be sooo long. Theme was well integrated and I could feel it while playing. Perfect. Overall nice game and it was fun to try to get to the end =)
Takes me back to retro space shooter games ! :D Loved the visuals. Really neat and easy to see. Beautifully done.
Fun and captivating, kept me busy for a considerable amount of time! :D Congratulations and good luck!
Oh my... why do I have to shoot all the energy refills? XD Good Game, I love the propulsion mechanic, it makes you move with care. Good job!

nice little game, it took me some seconds to realise that I had to take some stuf and not shoot everything that came up lol. ;)
I liked your entry a lot ! But I always die within 40 seconds haha
The atari2600-style graphics, catchy music, and engaging gameplay come together to create a truly fun game.
While a vertical scrolling shooter isn't the most original concept out there, this game is entertaining for as long as it needs to be, and is a job well done.
This is a great example how even a simple game, using a concept that we have seen million times, can be really fun to play. Everything fits perfectly together. Music, art, colors. Awesome work. One of the first games where I had to force myself to quit :D Thanks!
I'm at home! Oh yeaaah! So I've finished the game :D Didn't shoot that much just to conserve energy (and the energy boxes can be destroyed too... WHYYY?) and dodging meteors was better.
Very simple, but very well done game. Felt very hard towards the end(thats not a bad thing though!) I just wish it felt a little bit less repetitive(and maybe another way to get energy), but what can you really do about that in a game jam. :P
Very nice entry, simple nice design, fun and addicting. I spent a long time trying to make it to the end but a little on the hard end for me.
Love the story, characters and music as well! Great entry :)
Good one man effort, although I don't really understand the lose condition, the game kept restarting so I wasn't sure is it because I skipped the text in the beginning? =P Catchy music too!
Very charming and fun little game! I thought everything was done very well, and this shows you that you don't necessarily always need your mechanics to be super complicated for your game to still be enjoyable and addicting!
The inertia is a nice idea but the gameplay is quite counter-intuitive for such a game. You have to refrain from shooting to spare energy, right?
Great take on a classic, very fun and challenging, good job.
simple but effective gameplay and graphics
Really nice game. One small thing I have to say: the game is played entirely from the keyboard except for the play button, on which you have to press with the LMB. It's not a big problem though. Great job.
Nice, simple game. I kept destroying the batteries though which made it rather difficult :)
Thanks everyone for the feedback! @mariandev96 you can press the ENTER key to go straight to game. (easter egg, or not). Thanks.
Nice game !
You must work on the reload spawn, I can play with no limit by staying in the bottom corner and spamming shot, waiting for a reload to come.
If you work it the way that reload always spawn at a X distance on the horizontal axis of the player, it will be way better !
Simple, well made game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qvdJmOzeNg
its a funny game!
Really fantastic chiptune music! I also really like the Atari 2600 style.
Nice simple retro feeling game, with a nice soundtrack to go alongside it. Perhaps my only gripe being a SHMUP fan is having the hitbox of the ship being the whole ship threw me off slightly but overall really nice simple time waster! <3
Really simple idea, but game is fun to play. Nice graphics and sounds (they remind me some of the retro games). I think it is a little bit too hard to play. Great Job!
I really enjoyed it! Mechanic is great - would be nice if the asteroids appeared a little less skewed towards screwing me over. I like how you can shoot the power-cube-thing too. Got to ~2s remaining - it didn't look like it hit me but I guess it did. Awwwww.
The sound effects are a bit louder than the background music and the background music doesn't really fit the game all that well, despite its 8 bit sound. I would have liked the shooting mechanic to have been while the key is being pressed rather than when its first pressed down. Also it was a very difficult game and I lost interest in the challenge, even though I like challenges. I do like the homage to asteroids, the retro graphics, the fact that its a space shooter. Very cool look!
Wow - that made me feel claustrophobic ;) So many asteroids! Great idea having the power cells be destructible (as more often than not, I shot them) and the story was a nice touch too!
thanks everyone for the feedback.
Nice game! Relay like the artwork, bem massa!
I cannot disapprove the concept. Actually, I had an idea close to yours for this LD39 but your shooter is more intense and more demanding than mine;-)
Pretty neat game! Kinda mean that the player can destroy the fuel thingy but really fun to play! Great job.
Neat. I wish the fuel things could not be destroyed, I usually was unlucky enough to have the packs hidden by a massive clump of rocks.
Nice. Managed to beat it on third try focusing more on maneuvering and careful shooting. Also cool soundtrack!
So tough, but so fun! Having the colors for the power meter and the power pickups be the same is a pretty clever way to show that the two are connected. :)
Very nice. I really like the simple pixel style particles. It is the effect I was hoping to go for in mine and never got around to it. Music and sound was very nice. Only "issue" I saw was that if I stayed in the far right corner and just kept shooting I could survive for a pretty long time without any problems.
Shameless request, if you haven't tried my game you should. I'd be interested in your feedback since we have some similar things going on: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/invaders-from-the-next-planet-over
Nothing particularly innovative, but you did it so well! The movement felt really great, adding momentum with the same resource as your firing was a great idea and led to some really tense moments. I love when you are encouraged to have restraint and only fire when necessary, as too many space shooter games like this might as well just continuously fire. I also like how you are able to destroy your own power pickups.
The art and audio were both consistent among themselves each other which I really appreciate. One very small suggestion is that there shouldn't be a button you have to hit with the mouse after the intro as the mouse isn't used for the actual game. Great game. Well done.
Thanks everyone for the feedbacks. @kleinzach I forgot to warn at the beginning that you can press ENTER key to skip the intro and go straight to the action ;-P
Very addictive! I loved playing it so much. Very simple yet it's so much fun to play. Congratulations :)
