LD37 — One room

Block Bullies by Lucas Knutson 2016-12-12T15:12:00

I liked how you signaled wall proximity to the player both through a counter and through colored text. Simple graphics but they show off the concept. A bit hard to hit the things with the laser, and jump propels oneself perpendicular to the camera angle rather than what I as a player perceives as up. Made me jump into the wall quite a few times. ;)

Paper Airplane Attack by kebb 2016-12-12T17:22:00

Didn't notice the tanks at first. Quite a surprise when a hail of bullets rained, well, up on me all of a sudden. I guess that wasn't intentional but it entertained me. Fun to fly, though a bit hard when I went into corners and such. I expected that I would have to restart or something when flying into walls and tables and floors. Hard to aim with the weapons.

Poopy R**mba by Moritz 2016-12-12T16:48:00

Quite fun puzzle game. Played to level 9. I really like the graphics! Blocky in a nice way. Cute roomba! It was sometimes hard to see if a tile was blocked or not. It didn't affect any decisions negatively but made me having to focus on something other than the puzzles themselves.

An ordinary room? by Elastiskalinjen 2016-12-12T15:43:00

Nice graphics and humor! The controls felt nice, though it was a bit hard to push the cubes precisely. Luckily, the game didn't require that to finish.

Cockroach Reaction by dominisz 2016-12-12T15:37:00

Very fun game! I'm impressed. Didn't think it would be this fun to fill a room with pesticide. ;) The chain reactions are quite fun and I like how it is possible to turn the game around by starting one. A bit hard to see at a glance how big the piles are. Not sure how to fix that.

Just One More Room by Tommy 2016-12-12T17:04:00

First I found it strange to throw swords (or maybe they are knives...), but then I found it quite an interesting mechanic. The green text that appears when you pick up a chest is really hard to read.

Abandon Ship by drakekin 2016-12-12T17:11:00

Interesting concept! I really liked it. The text was a bit small and the sound too low. Took some time for me o figure out that I the cryo pod was closed since it looked like I was supposed to go through what proved to be a window in the hatch. The controls is my favorite part. It felt really nice to use once I got a hang of it. It was, however, frustrating that I was often propelled not directly forward but rather forwards and upwards, or something like that.

The Pit by Soundless_dev 2016-12-12T15:47:00

Clean design. I liked playing the game. A bit hard to build things, though. I accidentally used up all my blocks several times.

The Growing Room by eerongal 2016-12-12T17:33:00

I really like how the room keeps changing. Clear graphics.

Machina by Drtizzle 2016-12-12T16:56:00

I like the concept. The "analyzing"-sound was really hard on my ears. It was quite hard to see anything, as well. Dark. I think I don't have a problem with it if it is supposed to be dark in just the first instance of the room while the rooms in "other times" are brighter.

Manic Mars Base Manager by Downtown 2016-12-19T08:52:00

Interesting concept!

I found it a bit annoying that I sometimes when I was pressing buttons I couldn't also see how it affected the relevant numbers (for example when I was pressing the "remove heat gently"-button I couldn't see how much of the pillar was still red). Once I'd played around a bit (and killed a few hundred people) I got the hang of the game and it was quite engaging.

A shame, though, that there was no acknowledgment of when I reached 350 people.

Stain This Planet With Cosmic Prism by Mieeh 2016-12-12T17:27:00

Innovative controls! I had fun playing. Nice music, though a bit repetitive.

Ludum Dare 38 by FiloGC 2016-12-12T17:16:00

Clean design. Fun to play. I think I would have liked it if the meters were a bit larger.

sit down by spb_Rusty 2016-12-18T14:57:00

Nice concept! I got the feeling that two students sometimes could sit at the same table, but not sure.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Asteroids by MianaGames 2017-08-01T16:26:44Z

Nice small game! I liked the music and that one had to avoid shooting the batterypacks. Usually in these kinds of games you can't hit the powerups. Nice variation.

Hopeless Space by KonH 2017-08-06T06:44:38Z

Some iffy controls, but other than that it was a nice game. Would have liked there to be some indication of when I was hitting the enemies. Particle effects or something.

Voyage of the Indefatigable by Jaculabilis 2017-08-06T07:04:20Z

Was a bit confusing at first, but then I got the hang of it. Didn't make it, though. ;) Took a while for me to figure out that warping cost power. Messed things up for me.

All in all I really liked the game!

The Last Frontier by Drag0mir 2017-08-06T06:50:44Z

Didn't understand what the turrets were good for. I succeeded in giving them some energy but after that nothing seemed to happen. The bullets could stand to be a lot bigger.

Powerless Miner by MajamiLTU 2017-08-01T03:21:26Z

I liked the game!

One thing, though, is that I would have appreciated it if I didn't have to click on rocks to break them. Why not break them when I try to walk into them instead?

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Phrygian Fantasy by harark 2017-12-05T06:04:08Z

@thorneto Thank you! That was close to being a disaster. I didn't mean to opt out of mood. For some reason (probably a sleep-related one) I got it all backwards about what it meant to mark something as opt-out. I've changed it now.

Phrygian Fantasy by harark 2017-12-05T06:29:40Z

@amy-ballinger Thanks for the feedback. Not sure why the tearing bug appears. Doesn't seem to appear for me. Still, thanks for the bug report.

Phrygian Fantasy by harark 2017-12-05T06:42:37Z

@niborious Thanks for the clip! I wasn't content with the camera myself but I didn't see a way around it. Having a box is genius! Should have thought about it.

Actually, you didn't break the game. I don't think there are enough coins to buy everything if you don't do it the way you did it.

And yes, the fancy door has a purpose. It is an alternative ending. It has to do with being a bit more charitable or non-destructive, so to speak. ;)

Phrygian Fantasy by harark 2017-12-05T09:05:40Z

@samkee00 Thanks for your input! Yeah, I noticed that bug after I published the game, though in my case it was far enough out of the wall to pick up.

And thanks for all the bonus comments. ;D I was quite confused for a while before I found your clarifying comment. I don't know how comments can be removed. I would guess that it currently isn't possible. That's too bad, but not much to do about it.

Phrygian Fantasy by harark 2017-12-05T09:08:14Z

@samkee00 I am curious. What did you try in order to get to the door at the top?

And a tip for getting through it is to maybe not do very much, or to undo some things.

Phrygian Fantasy by harark 2017-12-06T04:40:18Z

@tabass Yes, there is another ending. And it requires a quite different approach. :)

GeneNOM - Create Your Own Organism! by stencilchris 2017-12-05T07:03:33Z

I liked the game. Especially the score screen and setting. Made me laugh! The starting speed was a bit fast. I would hav liked it to be slower in the start.

Paperwork by urbanhelsing 2017-12-05T13:23:23Z

Interesting concept. Of course, the paperwork proved tedious, but still interesting. I liked the animations. The jumping was a bit finicky, especially when carrying documents.

HUDdled by Pox 2017-12-05T14:36:26Z

Fantastic game! At first I thought it was rather dull, but then I noticed things changing and OH MY GOD SO MUCH IS HAPPENING!

Very nice experience. :)

Retro Rave Meteor Strike! by ksbdude 2017-12-05T06:50:05Z

Simple and engaging game. This was me a second after starting playing: "AAAAAAH!"

Two things. First, is there a limit to how much you can shoot? After a while I seemed to not be able to shoot for a few seconds. Secondly, the controls were fine most of the time, but again, after a while, I seemed to lose control and be stuck close to the edge of the screen.

I really liked how the laser changed colors.

Tetripitalism by chadrbanks 2017-12-05T05:53:36Z

Interesting idea! I would have liked the option to use WASD. Also, I think a plain 2D view would have been better. I found it a bit hard to determine where my blocks were going to land.

Sugarplum Summit by Michael Clavell 2017-12-05T09:30:40Z

Haha! Loved the boss fight. I had collected so many fairies. Was proud. Became dead.

One suggestion is to make the bullets more visible (larger might not be possible, but maybe more contrasting colors?). Especially during the boss fight I found it hard to dodge the bullets without looking directly at my character all the time.

The Coffee Quest by sommerlilie 2017-12-05T05:42:01Z

I like the concept. Had some problems figuring out how the elevator works (it only works if you've completed some quests first?) and how the item swapping and the delivering of mail worked. Nice graphics and nice music. I liked how it changed to elevator music when in the elevator and (I think) how it changed a bit on the second floor.

The Coffee Quest by sommerlilie 2017-12-05T06:00:38Z

@saibotk Not sure that was the problem (I pressed e on pretty much everything all the time). Not always sure what I was holding in my hand, though, so maybe I was using the wrong objects.

Mine Games by danman113 2017-12-05T06:56:36Z

Nice game! I really liked how the mines didn't activate immediately. I had to think about where I shot them when being chased. I think that the game would benefit from showing where enemies will spawn. I died several times from an enemy spawning right beside me.

Tide Horde by Sergey Chemodanov 2017-12-05T14:44:52Z

Nice game. I like how the height of the wall and the water level co-determine when the game ends and how hard it is to hit the orcs. I would have liked some keyboard shortcuts for using the abilities.

Apocalypse2D by saviourgaming 2017-12-05T09:37:00Z

Nice game. Liked the spinning wheel. One possible problem: Mechanically it seemed like there was a limit to how far away you could hit something, but visually there didn't appear to be a limit.

Starving Blue by konomizure 2017-12-05T06:18:27Z

I liked the look of the player-character. Had a aha-moment when I realised that I had to attempt to balance picking up and not picking up food. I noticed that the player-character was a bit hard to distinguish at times, when I was jumping on the higher platforms. Not sure why.

LD42 — Running out of space

Sticks and Stones by harark 2018-08-14T08:46:25Z

@ango Thanks for the feedback! And yes, it’s from that saying. Though the message of the game stands in contrast to it. :)

Sticks and Stones by harark 2018-08-14T15:03:41Z

@zchangvx Thanks for the feedback! What ending did you expect? :)

Sticks and Stones by harark 2018-08-16T16:54:18Z

@balance686 That's a really good idea! We still want there to be an air of inevitability in the game, but collecting the hearts to decrease the size of the text could actually strengthen that feeling if balanced correctly. Thanks!

SPACENGERS by Dev_For_Pizza 2018-08-14T17:18:36Z

Couldn't get past the second text, where one sits in the ship. :/

The Espacito by Wendel Scardua 2018-08-14T04:15:11Z

I really liked the concept. Having to prioritize between shooting enemies and shooting the laser things. Would have liked for the walls to move in more often, though. Would have made it more interesting to play.

Eventful Horizon by bitdecay 2018-08-14T03:56:44Z

Really great game! A couple of times the ball went through the cracked (?) ground. Felt glitchy. But it wasn't game breaking. Always sorted itself out by throwing again.

Space Sale by Joseph Manley 2018-08-14T03:44:11Z

Simple idea, but a workable one. Would have liked a restart-button when finishing the game. Also, there was a bug, I think, where I started to jump really high. Up into the ceiling. Made it hard to plan my jumps. Not sure what caused it.

Space Golf by ctran13 2018-08-16T03:59:33Z

Nice concept. Would have liked for the levels to restart faster when losing.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

L.A.B. by disperse 2018-12-05T04:26:14Z

Interesting! I like the concept. I found a bug, I think. It seems that if I try to place a worker on a card where I can afford, say, the aluminium but not the carbon, the carbon will remain the same but the aluminium will be payed despite me not getting the card.

The Tearable Three by grandtheftmarmot 2018-12-05T03:57:44Z

Nice concept. Had problems controlling it though. Bounced of corners too easily. Liked that the tearing had very different effects.

Triag'd by Elemental Zeal Game Studios 2018-12-07T14:46:02Z

Fantastic entry! Simple concept, well executed. Some balancing needed to make it interesting IF the game is made longer (which would be nice!), but the current length is quite well balanced.

Ai System by ToadieTechnika 2018-12-05T17:41:37Z

I like the way you teach the game. Minimialistic. Always nice. The levels got challenging pretty quick. Could have been more forgiving. I found it more interesting to figure out the solution than to attempt to execute the solution time and time again.

$Player Disconnected by Bomb-X 2018-12-05T18:18:52Z

Wow. Just wow. Interesting spin on the concept. Really started to care about the character.

Possible bug: The text disappeared for me after a while. I had just asked a person I gave my leg about something. Their answer appeared for a second but then all text, the choices too, disappeared. Couldn't get it back.

Space Patrol 72 by jan5366x 2018-12-05T18:09:23Z

Nice foundation. Found it a bit slow in the beginning, though.

Sacré Bleu by resivium 2018-12-05T17:31:03Z

Great game! Just the right balance of pondering and progress for me. Really liked the solution to the final problem.

Spoiler:

Never did figure out that I needed to change the key color, but I solved it accidentally.

Trahere by Rongo Matane 2018-12-05T18:01:42Z

Very visceral experience. Managed to finish the game without having the villagers sacrifice more people for me to bring to the meat grinder. I guess that's not intended.

Zoe and the Polypantheon by Carraka 2018-12-05T06:27:35Z

Great entry! I usually don't like point and click-games, but this one struck a nice balance between obscure and logical puzzles. I think I encountered the same ending as Archimagus above, and I agree. It was a bit sudden. Didn't have the energy to jump through the hoops to discover the other endings, which is a shame.

The error-sound when entering the wrong combination was a bit loud for me.

aberth: simple text based choose your own adventure by jfraser314 2018-12-04T17:20:57Z

Wow. Genius to use Google Forms for this. Accidentally made a rather grim choice in the beginning and then I just went for it. Quite a disturbed experience. Interesting.

We Fight "Together"! by StratosKakalis 2018-12-05T17:48:20Z

Ha! Made me laugh when I figured out the ammo. xD Got repetitive quickly, though, which was a shame.

Rainbow Cats by Niarkou 2018-12-04T11:04:34Z

Nice feel. Interesting puzzles. Would have liked to be able to see how many levels there are in total.

Tale of Nowheria by XCVZXC 2018-12-04T19:15:42Z

The music got me hooked! Took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do, but in the end no explanation was required. Well done. Expected some kind of special item in the last dungeon (as in the two previous) but couldn't find any. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. Now that I think about it, I never did get that key behind the trees. Hm...

Oh, and one more thing. I liked the way you introduced the player to hidden walls by having candys lead up to some trees in the beginning. Nicely done.

Goblin Quest by Pellanor 2018-12-06T05:55:21Z

Took some playthroughs to understand. Lots of small variations which made it fun to play again. Never did finish the game, though. Understood that something was suspicious with the elder, but never could find out what. Reached level 7 or 8 as most. I liked that the choice of ability in the beginning proved to impact what I could and couldn't do. Never did understand what to do to safely explore the mountains... I liked the humor. Good entry!

Robot Altar by BoopsGames 2018-12-05T18:26:32Z

Didn't quite get the game. Things moved a bit slow for me to figure things out. Laughed out loud when I drove the bus over the blue thing and it jumped. Twice. High! xD

Explodin' Slimes Maze by Eranot 2018-12-04T17:13:58Z

Nice game! Didn't play many levels, though. The restart made me start over all the way from the first level, which made it a chore to get back to the level which I had problems with. Restarted twice. Then I got frustrated. But that aside it was a good game. Very good level design.

Oblatio by Trusty 2018-12-05T04:06:04Z

Good concept. Gets tedious quickly, though. It would have been interesting if there were some more thought to the interaction. Maybe that if I feed something to the mice first they get big, and then feeding big mice to the cats would have been benificial somehow. Or something else.

Gunning out of Energy by Ants Aare 2018-12-04T11:22:36Z

Nice game. Maybe a bug: appeared to be able to keep shooting even though I had no energy.

Bee Defence by antonhvid 2018-12-04T08:03:15Z

A bit hectic in the start, but I liked it overall. Expected it to be possible to hit several enemies with one bee, though. Would have liked that feature. Good entry!

Fallen Angel by myro 2018-12-04T17:27:33Z

Great idea. Creepy atmosphere. The music and the graphics compliment each other. Found it rather frustrating to be in spiritform. Took a while to figure out how to keep afloat and even then the controls were rather clunky. Would recommend making it easier to fly, but that would probably require rebalancing of the levels.

LD44 — Your life is currency

BUY'n'DIE by DiscoFish 2019-05-21T19:07:23Z

Never got any music or sound...

Don't wake a sleeping vampire by hunttis 2019-05-21T14:10:48Z

I would have liked the levels to be less linear. In the first level, for instance, you are forced to go right, then all the way left to climb up, then all the way right to climb up, and then all the way left to kill the last enemy. When I tried to go left in the start I had to drop down to kill the first enemy and then go all the way left again etc.

Life in the Fast Vein by Dorblin7z7 2019-05-01T05:29:25Z

Good game! Might have liked the level to be a bit shorter. Or there being some clear ramp up in difficulty.

Meds of Honor by anidealgift 2019-05-21T14:32:00Z

Nice concept. I would have liked it to be less punishing to miss throwing the medkit on the button on the second level. Learning how to throw got a bit tedious having to jump back to get a new medkit. Although... now that I think about it I think it was possible to carry several medkits at once? Didn't think about doing that for some reason...

Vampire Drift by Shess 2019-05-21T14:21:53Z

The AI-drivers turned right into the wall at the beginning at just stayed there. A shame. I liked the controls and the drifting. Felt good. Wanted some opponents to test my skills against.

HeartLess by cdunham 2019-05-20T11:43:43Z

Nice idea! I liked having to balance doing things with keeping my HP up. With a bit of polish this could be a great game.

Life's a Dish by dxk2294 2019-05-01T05:58:19Z

Excellent mood! Had problems figuring out how to do stuff, though. Got annoyed at being zoomed back out whenever I clicked on something uncklickable. Made it harder to figure things out.

Solitairey Life by Ian Kettlewell 2019-05-20T11:51:30Z

I liked it! Two things were confusing for me: 1. Never figured out what made me draw more cards. Some cards said "Draw 1 card" or the like, but sometimes I drew cards without using one of those. 2. I "won life" at age 21. Don't know why I won.

Earn Your Life by aCactus 2019-05-04T05:48:34Z

That was exciting! Really liked the music. Would have liked it if there had been a branching of sorts, where new options are unlocked depending on what you choose to do. Maybe that is already the case, but wasn't clear. Then again, content creation is not really the strong side of game jams. Good work!

Necropolis - City Management Game with Zombie by schematical 2019-05-21T18:52:07Z

Took some time to figure things out. Might have been a too complex idea for a game jam? Not sure. Even so, interesting idea.

Pilling Debt by MasterProject 2019-05-04T05:28:52Z

Took a while for me to figure things out. I think it would have felt better if the jump was less floaty. Was a bit hard to time the jumps. Still a playable game. Good work!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Shelter by guckstift 2018-05-06T15:41:07Z

Interesting! First I was sceptical, but when I grasped the controls I found the game surprisingly addicting. Would have liked there to be some additional mechanic for making an area even and placing a lot of houses close to each other. Maybe the smaller houses merging into a bigger one? Anyhow, nice game.

Froggy Froschy by Likirus 2018-04-26T09:24:40Z

Nice game! I would have liked a way to manually restart the level (tried "R" and "Space" but neither worked). I became apt at noticing beforehand when I made a disastrous jump and then I had to sit there and wait for my inevitable doom before trying again.

Cropping Up by AugusteTheClown 2018-05-13T06:28:37Z

Maybe the button for harvesting and planting could be the same? When you hover over a plant you harvest it, else you plant/replant.

Rhythm-Based Twin Stick Zombie Survival Shooter by Niker107 2018-05-13T06:22:15Z

For some reason I couldn't get the beat to play. :/

Tetris Space Shooter by shadowtzu 2018-05-13T06:55:41Z

Nice game! Would have liked a way to move the pieces faster towards the top. Furthermore, sometimes the pieces moved sideways unexpectedly while rotating.

Flight Deck by Kovakomes 2018-04-25T05:16:37Z

Interesting combo. One thing I would have liked was a way to zoom in on the cards. The text was a bit hard to read.

Space Faze by Pond Loach 2018-05-13T06:35:25Z

It was easy for me to accidentally confuse the spinning things in the background for objects that I needed to avoid. Maybe change the color of them so they seem further away? Other than that, nice little game. :)
