Some polishing would have been good here. Huge level, although a little bit empty.

There is something with the collision detection, you can get stucked sometimes when the charakter should fall down. Couldn“t load the turrent by pressing E.

xenia 2017-08-02 10:14

Same here - often gets stuck when jumping.

luis-giron 2017-08-06 06:49

the game need some polish, more in the collision detection, but is a good entry, nice one!

harark 2017-08-06 06:50

Didn't understand what the turrets were good for. I succeeded in giving them some energy but after that nothing seemed to happen. The bullets could stand to be a lot bigger.

drag0mir 2017-08-06 07:05

@harark Turrets are needed for defense, that's just the time to draw and animate the enemies was not enough: (

akerspoket 2017-08-06 07:47

Didn't really understand what the game was about... Were you supposed to power up all the turrets to win?

aterlamia 2017-08-06 08:58

The game feels a bit unfinished but you explained why in your description a few points though

* The bullet/blast was very small i actual did not see when i shoot or not * Music and sound would have been a great addition * It took me way to long to notice how to climb stairs and feels not intuitive as you have to keep spamming the up button instead of keeping it pressed. * Some kind of mini map or pointer to where your turrets are would have been handy as well. * And as said before i git stuck when jumping.

All by all it was definitely not a bad submision for the time that you had so keep up the good work

lazygamedevza 2017-08-06 09:31

Unfortunately I felt this game was very lacking. The movement felt very off and I did not really have an idea of what it was I was doing in the game. I understand that the entry was made in a very limited time, but some extra polish or focusing more on one mechanic would have made it a much more fun game.

multiplexor 2017-08-06 09:33

I felt a bit confused over what I had to do, I went running all over the place and could not find anything to shoot my gun at!

Still, the idea sounds cool! Would like to see a more polished version!

Keep up the hard work! ;)

drag0mir 2017-08-06 09:45

Thank you all for the feedback! 1. Yes, there is a problem with collisions during jumps. 2. Dimensions of bullets, as well as the mode of diagonal shooting add 3. Turrets in this version do not shoot: ( 4. Music and sounds are sure to appear 5. Movement on the stairs will be rebuild 6. The level with slugs will be reduced (add a few variations) 7. A minimap appears 8. I'll add waves of attack to see when you need energy for turrets 9. I will add the possibility of pumping (increase in the amount of energy transferred) 10. I will add more slugs

michaeltwg 2017-08-06 11:55

I haven't understand how to move up when you"re at the bottom of the level. Bullets are indeed very smalls. Sometimes my character seems to jump more higher than others.

The game is working and you have plenty space to improve it

temmy 2017-08-06 11:57

Shame you only got 15 hours during the jam! My main sticking points were:

- I couldn't see the bullets I was firing at all. Took me a while to realise shooting was actually helping. - I got a message saying 'go to the turret on the left' but nothing seemed to happen. The level opened up going right though so I went there instead. - I got caught jumping quite a bit where my character would stick against the side of something.

Good job getting the start of an idea down though! Would be awesome to see you continue developing it.

alwaysinbeta 2017-08-06 11:57

There's the makings of a good game there but the pacing felt a bit slow for me. It's a shame you had to go to work as I think the extra time would have made a big difference. Well done for actually getting something submittable in the short time you had. Take it as a learning experience and come back stronger next time (advice that probably applies to all of us participating in LD!)

drag0mir 2017-08-06 12:20

@temmy Force Majeure in the main work - my client need job on saturday: (

psychopsam 2017-08-06 13:37

I powered up some turrets thought it wasn't clear why I was supposed to be doing this or what the net effect of doing so would be. Controls are pretty good, but it would have been nicer to just hold W going up. Didn't see the need to fire as I didn't run into enemies. I eventually got stuck up the top unable to return to the turrets.

zachary-shah 2017-08-06 13:41

I really like this game!!! although if you added some more monsters that would be great!!!!

vivoubos 2017-08-06 13:52

Nooooo the main character haven't animation!!!!

Oh i saw that you only work 15 hours :( So bad

Cause, with polish the game could be really better!

drag0mir 2017-08-06 14:00

Post LD39 version contain 060804.png -x3 size bullit -new desing tiled -minimap

pavel-kouril 2017-08-06 14:20

The movement is really bad. Also, I can't understand what I should do, the game lacks tutorial! :(

svr-audio 2017-08-06 14:35

For a 15 hour work, it is a great game, some sounds and animation can make this game a real contender, great work, I am sure your next game will be great, good luck !

pete 2017-08-06 14:45

Great that you have a tutorial, but it would not continue from the "find turret" step. The player collision could use some work, also the moment seemed not that great. The start bullet could also use some more visibility. The map also seems very big with little to no content or purpose.

harusame 2017-08-06 17:23

For only 15h it's a good game but we judge on 48h and your game need more polish, some animations and sounds, i've some issues with collisions and I couldn't see bullets.

But it's a good start and with more work on this game, it can be a great entry !

brolton 2017-08-06 17:38

@pavel-kouril +1. It's hard for me)

drtizzle 2017-08-07 10:41

Well, I think everything has been said about this in the comments above, but I'll give you my 2 cents. I really like the art, reminds me of some old dos games. The level was really big, holy crap. For me that's a plus, but I couldn't find the turret(s?) so some guidance would be nice. Controls are a bit floaty, but if this is a space setting you can get away with it ;) Next time make a Physics Material in Unity, set it to super slippery and slap it on the player. This will solve the getting stuck on walls problem (there are more sophisticated methods, but this one is easy and it works).

Good start, but it really needed some more work.

Well done!

pyokoanarogue 2017-08-09 00:54

Nice entry. I hope the game becomes as close to the mental image you have of it as it can. persist, persevere and repeat!

baby-dino-herd 2017-08-10 05:20

Really good start for just 15 hours! I like the idea, and the level gives a lot to explore. I found that it was hard to collect energy and that sometimes the tutorial messages were out of order; I'd like to see what a further developed version could bring!

cydouzo 2017-08-10 12:00

I restarted the game twice and the tutorial messages got different issues each time. I didn't really see the concept of the game. I traveled around the map for 5 minutes to find plutonium, but I didn't get the point, so I just got bored and quit. I didn't get to use the gun. I saw some stuff that looked like enemy slimes but they died without me having to intervene. Still you have some of my respect for the 15 hours challenge.

tiberiusuciu 2017-08-17 06:03

For 15 hours, I shall overlook the imperfections, because that's a whole other challenge than the 48 hours :^)

Here are some things that you can do that can improve your game from here on. Sounds, even a simple "pew pew" Some sort of instructions within the game to make it clear to the user what he needs to do.

Otherwise, you're game has potential, you have the mechanics setup, all you need to is add features :^)

Good job regardless!!
