The game stopped responding when I tried to scan the papers.
A point and click is definitely not the easiest genre to master for a game jam, and ou did great with very little. The puzzle was not frustratingly hard, but not too easy either. Interactions are fluid and feel natural. Good job!
The music was very annoying though, I understand why daddy elephant wanted it to stop 🐘
Amazing game! The graphics are outstanding! Good job!
Outstanding! You managed to a lot with very little!
I'm really sorry, I tried my best to undertand the mechanics of the game. But I kept getting insta-killed in less than a minute a couple of times. I bought a bunch of turrets, I had energy and resource de refill them, and my shield was still at almost 100%, and I still died as soon as enemies showed up.
Very enjoyable game, I had a lot of fun, and found myself playing even after I already had all bonuses. However I think there's many tiny problems which pollute the overall experience: The very laggy camera made it uncomfortable to move around the stage, but the fights were still ok thanks to the rather good responsivness of the commands.
When I bought the bonus that gives one more loop to your shoe laces, it made the move very laggy and it became impossible to use them in a fight.
I saw in the comments that some people reached the boss. I couldn't, even after I bought all the power-ups. I would always run out of enemies to fight.
It's very frustating that we have to spend the begining of each game waiting for bonuses to spawn, it would have been nice to start each game with a few shoe laces.
In the few minutes of gameplay, I didn't know how to kill enemies, mainly because the games are too short and I didn't have time to grab any bonus.
Thanks for this great entry and I hope to see more of your games in the future!
I think there was a bug because I could read none of the notes scattered on the ground (they were all blank when I clicked on them). The list of tasks was empty too. I suppose
I will just rate you on graphics :P. Which look nice by the way, the strong bright colors reminds me of those games on Windows 95.
Great art style and great music, they give a profound personality!
I saw quite a few games that interpreted the theme the same way you did (the loop is going to work and coming back home every day), but yours was probably the best I tried so far.
Best part is when I realized we can skip going to work and just stay home drink beers. Then my wife got angry at me the next day XD.
I was expecting a story to emerge from the dialogs with the wife and the boss, but I stopped playing at day 7 and nothing had happened by then, should I have played longer? If I had found some story-telling I would have given you a 5 stars in Mood.
Many people already said it, but I'll say it too: the controls to chose where to go were incredibly confusing. When I go to work, I just have to click on Work, but I come back I have to select House or Shop with the arrow keys. It took me a while to understand.
The concept is so engaging! I spent surprisingly long trying to get to the top!
The music was great! I like how you made sure that each new instrument would join the music as we're finishing a cycle of the loop.
I was expecting something to happen if I survived long enough. Weren't supposed to go through a door or something like that?
On a second run, I hacked the game by climbing on the platform where enemies arrive and spawn killing all of them. Could be fixed by making sure both platforms are at different heights
Great game! I like the catchy and cheesy music and the art, they go great together and give personality to the game. I like the physics of the character, it is very floaty and rather responsive, which made it very easy to pick up.
I have a small comment though: There were some frustrating parts when I would walk for for a few seconds through empty lands, only to realize that the path is blocked. Then I need to come all the way back to take a cloud in order to cross that obstacle.
The game was very slow and unplayable for me. I was around 1 FPS
I join wujong's comment. There is definitely not enough time to react on the first step of each level. Otherwise, amazing entry! A very simple, perfectly executed concept, that's what how you rox a gamejam
I think its way too easy to die in this game. Fighting is completely useless, the only strategy that I found was too go full bone and flee (which is boring cause I didn't need to pickup any part, since we start in full bone mode). Robot and meat parts make ou way too slow => Impossible to evade any attack => you die even faster. The concept is really fun though, I enjoyed the few levels I've played
Really nice idea. Very good realization, and very smooth to play!
The combat is way too hard with not so many options. I stopped playing after the second combat. A shame cause I wanted to know the rest of the story :<
Great game! Gorgeous art. A shame that some buildings are broken and dont produce what you ask them to.
The starting music is soooo cooool. Its a shame that if we quickstart we get this other not so cool music. Restarting takes aaaaaages even the quickstart. And telling me I was looking for something before I reach the end would have been helpfull! Plus I don't understand why you implemented platform mechanics, since the fastest and safest way to travel is by teleportation. Since the music is not made during you have to opt it out!
The puzzle where you have to push the ball at the beginning is very broken. I tried it twice and the ball got stuck in a corner. Having tilted corners would have made it less frustrating. Great game! I love the graphics!
Great job! I especially love the tutorial. Im sad I couldnt finish the game cause I ran out of food... Also had a bug where the game considered I had one less open spot than what I actually had
As mentioned before, the comparaison with super meat boy is quite obvious (and deserved) The game was too hard, couldn't finish it, but I guess I couldn't finish super meat boy either so ... 😛
Like the concept, but i have absolutely no clue how the actions influence my population, and how population influences the advancement in the game. I just watched as my civilization was going, and it did great without me.
Great game. Nice game design. And I love the music
DUUUUUUUDE Best entry I've seen on this Jam so far
A crazy concept, great realisation, SUPER COOL GRAPHICS (2D arts on 3D environnement = <3), great music. Everything rocked from top to bottom.
Congratulations, and I'll make sure to follow your future games with great interest.
Spent too much time trying to understand the meaning of your gameplay. I felt like it was really an original and fun concept, but I just didn't understand how to play it. Please make a more detailed tutorial if you're gonna do a really original game, or at least explain your concept on the Ludum Dare page if you don't have time for an in-game tutorial. And I would like to know which ones of my planets collided when I gameover: most of the time I can't see which ones are colliding since they are way too fast.
Overall, the music, art and chara design was fun.
Excellent concept, one of the best ones I've seen in this Ludum Dare, I love it!
There were several issues: You die if you get a horizontal line as a first piece. No feedback about whether the ship landed or crashed. No time to realise I have to switch from tetris control to rocket control, which ends up in an instant crash. The gameplay is very poorly explained on the menu page, you should put the description you wrote for this page inside the game :P
I'd like to see your game become something bigger, good job!
Classic but well realized concept, with a few nice gameplay ideas. The UI is a big +++.
The music was cool but seemed a little bit off to me.
I would have liked to see the controls in the game. And a first easier level so I we have time to grab on the controls.
But the big issue I had was the legth and repetitivity of the game. I stopped out of boredom after 10 minutes, before the game actually started to be hard. I think if the difficulty would scale quicker it would be way better.
I was very disappointed by your game. I thought the graphics and the soundtracks made up a pretty neat atmosphere. And then I found that the platformer was almost unplayable, and I'll give you some of the main issues, hoping that you do better next time:
-Jump button only works on time out of ten. It's not even a cooldown, it just won't jump. very frustrating
-Collision are very unclear of the platforms. I love the scrappy pixel art look, but please you should the platforms nature understandable on glance. And the friction on the side of the platform is really not a thing.
-The field of view is too small
-I had a bug where my hp would just not go under 0
Good luck for next time, I hope to see more of your games!
Really nice bullet hell concept, I love it! The music is great and matches the game's spirit completely. The difficulty is nicely managed.
Now a few comments about what could have made this game even better. For a fast action game, the ONE important asset you need is ---> responsive controls, and I was really dissapointed with that: The character takes too much time to reach max speed, and most importantly the bullet time takes FOREVER to activate (what's the use of a bullet time if there's enough time to die twice between the moment you click and the moment it takes effect?).
The bouncing on the boundaries is really not a thing. Its buggy and adds too much randomness. A simple wall would have done the job just right.
I had a bug where I cannot reset the game if I die on the spawn spot.
The biggest issue for me was that clicking on a customer will remove the person he was sleeping with. It was a pain to play while having to focus on clicking on a guy that was already paired up.
Other issue, the NEXT button will pass dialogs, but will also pass on to the next day, which cost me a reset the first time I played.
Last commment: I found the game really long for a Ludum Dare format (very repetitive after the fifth day, so let's talk about the 30 day you have to go through to finish the game).
Great realisation! Easily enjoyable game, with quite some inventivness. I hope to see more of your lewd games in the future.
One of the gems of this Ludum Dare!
Great concept and great job!
The music is very cool! Graphics are good, with a lot of assets... but the huge amount of ornaments made it harder to understand the game.
Some huge issues that make the game difficult to play:
-Absolutely no visual or sound feedback (this a super important! like, really)
-The important elements of the scene should be the most visible ones (so the player knows intuitively what he should interact with)
-Collision with the ground when climbing the ladder (I don't know if you see what I mean, but anyway it's just a minor issue compared to the other 2).
A small tutorial or explanation (like the one on your Ludum Dare page) would have been appriciated in the game.
Sorry for the lots of negative comments, I hope it helps :D
Congrats for the crazy idea! This game is a gem!
The puzzles were all fun. Except for the one where you have to delete the books in alphabethical order, since windows does it automatically for you :P (and even if it didn't, it's kind of a lame idea)
The main downside to this concept is that no puzzle game is right without some nice music. Maybe you can add an audio file that we have to play by ourselves?
Is it just me or is the download link missing?
Reaching one of the exists of the level is close to impossible with only one movement point, and it takes too much time to gaining points by dying repeatedly (I tried like half a dozen times, and got sick of it pretty quickly) (or maybe it's just me being unlucky with the lava pop?).
The controls are not intuitive, mainly because your character is not visible at first glance (even when I saw it didn't feel like I should click on it), and because the text boxes are too small.
The background is even less intuitive, I had to try to go on every type of tile to understand wich ones I can go on.
Last but not least, the game crashed after at the end of a run.
The few things I liked:
Menu animation is pretty cool!
My favorite touch was the roman-like font, really great idea, it gives personality to the game.
Sorry for the bad comments, I hope it will help! Feel free to trash my game in return ;)
Game is good and full of nice ideas, but level 1 is just way too hard (you need to remember every single obstacle's position in order to finish, that's not considered fun since the 80's). I think level 1 and 2 should have been swappped.
A lot of huge issues with your game that made it pretty much unplayable to me. I'll try to gave you several ones, starting with the most important:
-No visual feedback during sword fights.
-Boundaries issues: the character starts off screen, I almost uninstalled the game before being able.
-Impossible to read the description and prices of the different assests we could buy.
-The dubs were very funny, but I did not get a single from what the character were saying (especially because the music was louder than the voices (pretty cool music btw)
I hope you get better next time!
Simple but very solid interface. This is a work to be proud of. A few things that would have made this game perfect according to me: Would have prefered to have those words of explanation inside the game. The gameplay could have been more developped (with combos and stuff, so we need to think more about what combo we should do)
Aside from the catastrophy that is collisions and hitboxes, a few features would have made your game a lot more fun to play: more ennemy types, the possibility to kill enneies without getting hit, make it so the dash doesn't make you take more damage than you inflict. Maybe it' just that I have no skill, but after playing 10 minutes, I found out that the only somewhat right way to play is to spam the punch putton without moving.
Good work. Definitly untapped potential. For now it becomes boring pretty quickly, but I can definitly see this grow into a good civi-game. Would have gained a lot with some music
Solid game, really pretty and inventive. But I got bored of it pretty quickly for two reasons: The fact that you can't see your cursor made the aiming really hard. At last 80% of my eggs missed the box. No increasing difficulty. Anyway, it's a very good job!
Great job on recreating a windows OS, really! So much little details that make it immersive:! The gameplay was not very fun, but I understand that it was not your main focus. Very solid work ;)
Excellent arena game. I have no negative feedback whatsoever. Expecially loved trying to trap my openent. Graphics and music are very good. The AI is really dumb but that's to be expected from a 72hours game.
I found your game boring for several reasons: -The controls are super hard to hang on -Didn't make me want to try hard and have a better score -Really slow. This isn't supposed to be a problem, but it comboed pretty well with the above Last thing: The description is really long, which is not a problem if it is interesting to read, but is when it holds very few usefull informations. Sorry for the bad comments, I'll leave them not-anonymous so you can come and trash my game in return ;)
Sooo funny. I loved the atmosphere. Now for the gameplay, I think the game ends too quickly (impossible to move between the sorpses after 2 minutes). And I never understand where the ennemies are facing and from where i'm currently attacking. So the funs runs out pretty quickly.
Surprisingly fun to play despite being incomplete. Would have been great with a bit of balancing, and a couple of dialog lines to tell us what we should do.
Great game! Played it for 1 hour straight and finished with eleven points of faith. I loved the world atmosphere, and would love to see this grow into a bigger game
Great game.
Too much different types of ressources, most of them being completely useless. Why would you even do that?
Experienced a bug where I cannot upgrade my solar panel.
Very funny game. Punching your baby is really a nice feature XD. But I couldn't play the game because I couldn't grab a single item. Seriously, how do you do it? I reach with left click, then grab with right click but i just doesn't work. I tried with several items and nothing seems to go in my cart.
Couldn't finish the game. The visibility is ridiculous, even with the flashlight on. And WHAT THE HELL with those control buttons? Why are the 4 buttons all around the keyboard? Every thing else was really well made though! The musics, the graphics (except the graphics in-game which we don't get to see), the intro. Good job!
Great atmosphere!
The game is challenging but nothing unfair or deterring, so I had fun finishing it.
Reading through the tutorial takes about 3 times longer than finishing the game. I understand why: your concept is really good, but hard to explain. If you manage to make a good tutorial (or if could do even better, and explain it with no tutorial but just with a few introductive puzzles), then I will definitely be interested in seeing your concept developed into a full game.
Also, before writing this gigantic tutorial, you could have at least written the input buttons. Because I spend a few minutes searching for the button to restart a puzzle before finding it
Everything is perfect. Excellent and deep concept, smooth gameplay, clear tutorial, beautiful graphics. Nice backstory. No bug. The difficulty is well balanced.
YOU DESERVE A STANDING OVATION!
Such a shame there's no music, it would have been perfect.
A small problem though: If all of your cores are disabled, you should be able to use your battery before getting a game-over.
Very good game. The concept is interesting. All the musics are really cool. The graphics are very nice. Easy to pick up. The tutorial is a little long, but effective.
A small bug where, if you die with an energy in your pocket, you keep it when starting over.
I restarted the game twice and the tutorial messages got different issues each time. I didn't really see the concept of the game. I traveled around the map for 5 minutes to find plutonium, but I didn't get the point, so I just got bored and quit. I didn't get to use the gun. I saw some stuff that looked like enemy slimes but they died without me having to intervene. Still you have some of my respect for the 15 hours challenge.
Brilliant!
The concept is funny and catchy. Graphics and animations are really gorgeous! The music and sounds are cool.
I didn't like the way you move through the house. And I still find the way the bar scale a little weird.
A great entry! You have my respect
Too much major problems in this game. You die exactly 4 seconds after appearing on the map if you don't find energy. The game is not understandable, I didn't find anything to do except roaming in the room for a few seconds before dying because of lack of amo. I tried to understand the game mechanics, but I don't have time for that because I must find energy within the first 4 seconds. Here are a few things that could have made your game a little enjoyable: writing the control buttons somewhere is important (even if you don't have time to do it in the game, at least do it in the description); make an easy first level so we have time to understand the mechanics. Several minor display amount of bugs from the menu to the game over screen. Menu and game over screen are ugly as hell, my eyes are puking, what could have possibly led to such a monstrosity!!! Depending on the background, the score and data are unreadable.
Very nice action game. Fun, kind-of-fluid, and very well-balanced. The graphics are not bad at all. I didn't understand the use of the equipment tho. I think that the "roll" button doesn't dodge, it just makes you faster, which I find counter intuitive (In that case it should have been called a "dash" instead of a roll) With some good old epic music, it would have been my favorite entry so far in this Jam.
Very empty game. I don't really see where you want to push your concept, because right now there's no concept. The light is completely useless since you can see everything perfectly in the dark. The platform part is not very interesting either: the player have already seen everything after just 30 seconds of game play, the jump trajectory is... strange, and the platform limits are very unclear. Every time I die, I lose at least 2 hearts in a row because I fall just after reappearing. The transition from ! level to another is unclear.
The controls are awful. The character feels like it's moving on an icy floor. And he is 3 times too big compared to the screen size. So it's not adapted at all for a bullet-hell game (and bullet-hell are among my favorite games). It wasn't too hard or too easy, just too inconvenient. I kept being hit continuously, trying to reach enough exp bubbles to survive. Definitely huge potential, if only it was more balanced.
Very fun shooter! Smooth and comfy to play. I haven't noticed at all that the plants resisted more the more you used the same gun, and it's better like this because I don't think it's an interesting concept. I would have really appreciated some indication that the room after the boss was the ending (even some text written in the room would have been fine), because I didn't notice that I finished the game until I came to this page. The tutorial part was much appreciated ;) The choice of available weapons was good. I appreciated having to choose between using up my amo, or trying to avoid the enemies. The graphics were not bad, but the graphic style vary too much from a sprite to another.
Standing ovation for your game! The intro is crazy good, and the music fits so well XD After 3 games, I understood nothing of the mechanics, but I place my soldiers in a "kind of logical" way and it works, so seems fine to me :D The paint-like graphics give a strong identity to the game, and that's no easy thing to do! Well played ;)
On of my favorite entries in this Jam
Nice game! Beautiful 3D graphics. Fluid and clear. Fun to play. Music not bad, but Could have helped more effort in the level design, because as it is I got bored of it after 5 minutes of play.
Disliked the music, I'd have liked something a little more lively, or even epic. But according to me this one just doesn't fit. Tutorial is VERY bad. For a game that simple, you could have explained with more a synthetic and easy-to-understand text. The animations and movements are very fluid and make the game soooooo confortable to play. But the design of the characters (player or ennemies) are boring: no emphasizing color, no shape, no life. What a shame! With this quality of animation, the game could have easily bean so pleasant to watch! Excellent work, very clean and very fun to play!
The graphics did hurt my eyes pretty badly, it felt like a slop of flashy pixels (and usually, I like retro pixel-art). A serious lack of energy along the way, clearly not enough to see the end of the game, and I didn't even use the gun!! General opinion: Several good ideas for a retro-like a game (tank control = nice), not very well exploited, but still a very good work
A simple concept that proves to be quite fun. The theme is very well exploited. The story is simple but captivated me enough so I would try again after the first game over. Very good job!
I played the game 3 times, I finished all three glitched and unable to move. The music is cool. (Your != You're, some terrible mistakes were made)
Super cool game. The concept is simple and catchy. The sound effect when you're about to loose is a personal favorite ;) Good Job!
Awesome job! The concept is simple but very inventive. I'll definitely keep it on my computer and play it again sometime!!
Very good game. Amazing graphics!!! It would deserve a more "funky" music to match with the atmosphere.
I think planting trees is too easy. I just spent all my energy in planting trees, and I easily reached 5000 energy points and then I just killed everyone by shooting randomly. Also, is it on purpose that at some point, all my volcanoes start shooting continuously? Excellent game! Very fun to play! Congratulations!
I had much fun playing this game, until it bugged and my characters couldn't make any more move. Also, a lot of people told you, but you really need a tutorial (I'm not sure it's the purpose of the game description to be a tutorial). I find the needed quantity of wood for anything enormous, I spent something like 40% of my time chopping trees. Good job!!!!
Awesome game! Very original. I don't quite understand the use of the energy bar tho.
Your game is sooo silly, I like it XD. But it would have deserved some dialog to feel less empty. Complete silence isn't suitable for having fun
Very nice mechanic! Could use some music, and some instructions.
This game is so good, it feels like a dildo! More hot pizza sausage in your area incomming ;p
