I didn't have fun.
lemme shoot with the aaaaaarrrows ! lol it's really fun
This is a fun, goofy game. My piece of positive feedback, the humor is on point! They serve as refreshing, but dastardly distractions. Improvement feedback, the body guards are mixed in with the crowd when they spawn, and until I knew that, it didn't quite make sense, just make them pop out a bit more compared to the audience.
This game was quite nice. I enjoyed a lot, of the things I didn't enjoy, the one worth mentioning is the overly distorted audio during the later portion. Otherwise, it's not bad.
@very-dark-lord the music track during the final segment is just overly distorted. the dancing track is playing at the same time and while it's not perfect that a still passable. just the actual bgm for that part. trying to be spoiler respectful
I like it, except that she can shoot him, and hurt him and that makes it less fun. Otherwise, controlling two characters is awesome. I do wish the shield moved faster also.
Just not very intuitive to play, otherwise, atmosphere, graphics, and audio are on point.
The game crashed at the conclusion of the first level 2 times. I could hear the Erik Satie Music in the bg, but the game just froze and stopped going. The first level was also a bit off because the momentum was stopped immediately, however I did like the atmosphere, and the look.
Overall, I was wrapped up in the environment and the atmosphere. I think the control scheme is a weird. Perhaps making the up arrow jump instead of space, since we also need to use the mouse. I got locked out of the next area two times and gave up. Also there was no mention of picking up the torch with e after dropping it in the tutorial, so I ended up dying in there after not being able to see anything. It seemed like it would be interesting to actually play though. I hope you update the controls after jam.
Very good try. I think overall, since I'm a musician I judged it a bit more harshly knowing that was the foundation, and the notes not being in sync with the music is a big negative for me. the fact that you can tell when you miss is pretty nice, but there's no other feedback for anything else. If I had one tip, it would be, give feedback. Players want to know they have done something. I still think, especially for the first game, good try! Keep making games!
@merrak, thank you for the feedback! I would like to continue working on it after the jam. I'll let you know when more content is available if you like!
@Judges, I uploaded a new version that fixed the screen in place when playing with arrow keys on kongregate.
I really enjoyed playing this, but it definitely needs some help in the balance department. I spent a lot of lives because of how easy you die, Lol. It's fun though! I also really enjoy the music and SFX. Those are perfect for the atmosphere.
I didn't really understand what I was supposed to be doing as a player. I could tell we were supposed to be keeping the one in the middle above zero, but there was a point where what needed to happen was no longer common sense, that point was after getting the dna.
I liked what I saw and heard, and as mentioned, I was only certain I was doing the right thing against 2 of the 4 enemies. Thank you for making it though!
Good concept.
This is a great and fun game. Has a good Toejam and Earl vibe. The humor of the game, to me, feels like the music should be more fun, otherwise, not bad at all. I enjoyed it.
I really enjoy this game! A couple of things I feel need mentioning: 1. Controls, this would feel way more clean with a controller 2. The bottom leftmost area after the eyeball worm fast shooting aliens you can get stuck. there's a bunch of loot down there, but you can't get out. 3. The darksouls, hollow knight esque bad guys and loot come back when you enter the ship but you can choose to heal up and keep collecting further instead is perfect. Don't change that. 4. Personal preference here really, but maybe mute the colors of the hud a bit to match the atmosphere, and add subtle scrolling to the stars in the bg.
I would play this game if it were a full release game with some minor quality improvements. Thank you for that. I spent 40 minutes.
It was pretty simple. Very straightforward. I didn't hear any sound though, so that's sad but it doesn't take anything away from the game.
@grenk that's an awesome idea, thank you!
@everyone, at present, the immediate move after a level up should be to do nothing, basically a free move right after the level up because of the lack of time otherwise.
@quak I'm really thinking of a way to keep the game in timr with the music, but still increase the speed and my solution will be to only increase the colors on this song.
Very good. IT was just the right amount of challenge. There was no loss condition or win condition though.
It was really nice to look at. The audio not being there was kind of sad. Otherwise this game was a nice little experience.
THAT BEETLE! lol. It's actually pretty fun though! Loved the audio

This so reminded me of minigames from pokemon stadium and well those are fond memories! I like the sound and the look. The mechanic did become just smashing the arrows as fast as I could mindlessly after awhile, so maybe more hazards later on?
I could really see this being a clicker game with a few minor improvements! It's a good base. Having a visible indicator of health and morale like the faces of crew mates, some spoken dialog like, today we made a great haul! or the crews exhausted, we've been going strong for weeks now!
things like that would really make this more enjoyable. I can feel the story just from this little bit you did! Overall, pretty good job!
yeah I had a lot of fun playing this, it really challenges the critical thinking. I would play this a lot on mobile!
This is a pretty great take on the pipe dream game mechanics! I enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing it. I liked the music the most.
I think the sensitivity was up way too high, even on the lowest setting. The visuals seemed to go well together which is a plus, but I couldn't really experience the game. I wasn't sure what to be doing and even got a level that was just a small room with no exit. Pretty frustrating to play actually.
I think this is stellar! I really think the timeline system is quite cool! I think there should be a challenge in how often I get to try though, that's my only complaint really. I think I'm personally not too good at this game, but I was literally not encouraged to get good because I could try endlessly (More of a mercy really, thanks. lol)
but overall I believe this to be one of the most solid entries I've played.
@comicsans I probably would have (even though I'm abysmally bad at these kind of games lol), if the challenge was just a limited turn count
I would play this too much lol. So good. I liked the sound effects best.
I actually enjoyed this for a long time! I think the hit boxes on the fireballs are a little big! otherwise the game was quite enjoyable. thanks for sharing! I got to 72!
I'm not sure what to do from just the game itself (I know I can read the instruction images but I like learning from the game) I was initially brought in by the look and sound of the atmosphere but I quickly lost interest because I didn't know what to do!
@gharliquebread Thank you, we actually had a lot of the story thought out and written down but didn't pan it out because of time restrictions BUT hearing comments like this makes me want to make this into a full game! Thank you.
@juako sorry mate! As a general rule for danger, it looks scarier than it is, so there's exactly .1 seconds when you can die, otherwise it's safe. Kind of a trick I learned that will help newer players, but I see that being frustrating so I took note. Clarity is very important so I'll emphasize the danger time more! you can see in this gif of the face actually being inside the ghost lol
hit box.gif and here I show the timing is really mostly safe, but yes I would probably make it move back down more swiftly to appear safer longer. thanks again for that feedback.
mostly safe.gif
well I was captivated by the thumbnail and agree that the graphics fit well together. That is a plus! The controls are good, actually, but the game itself is trial and error and that's old real fast. also the hit box is too big on either the player or the enemy but I was dying with maybe a pixel of room between them. The audio is pretty good too, sound effects matching with the music. Keep doing it!
seems pretty straight forward, good job! I think the controls are pretty good, the penguin looks cool. I would scrap the hover with mouse mechanic, and just have it pop up when we're by the sign. otherwise it looks pretty good
Short and Fast version Music and Art (excluding the walk animation)are easily high ratings. Very nice! The gameplay was not. I didn't get past the second train car before getting bored.
Maybe I'm just too impatient but I wasn't a fan of the gameplay. Music and Visuals are strengths!
I only didn't like the limitation on how fast I could press the button. Otherwise, super fun. no complaints
I played this game for a long time lol. The sound effects kept me wanting to go long after I killed the man. Thank you!
Simple, and excellent.
