Not the prettiest. But it's simple and fun and works!

Not the prettiest. But it's simple and fun and works!
Fun: It was fun but I think I would have liked it more if the person didnt fall off.
Innovation: Interesting idea.
Theme: It fits the theme because you had to go down with the helicopter
Graphics: I didnt like the graphics that much.
Audio: The sound effects were amazing.
Humor: A bit of humor from the audio.
Mood: IDK how to grade this one.
Overall: Interesting idea I thing the gameplay could have been less janky and art better but overall good job!
SO FUNN KABOOM KABOOM MAN i LAUGHED !!! HAHA GREAT GAME
This is great! definitely the type of game I could play for hours. It's not as simple as it seems at first and I was trying to drag my dead dude around even after the rope came off to see how far I could get! The music is just right and the sound effects are hilarious. I love the little helicopter and stickman drawings.
Loved the audio. "Aww, iM All ouTta DYnoMite!" will be stuck in my head for a while.
Lots of simple fun and very nostalgiac feeling to play. Reminds me of high school computer class! Gives so much of that classic "guys having fun making a game" kind of feel.
I like the hand drawn art look, audio was funny. Fun entry! The physics are wonky but that is part of the fun!
Funny audio, funny game! I liked it!

Got stuck :) But really good! Great job!
The visual and audio art style is simple and charming. The biggest problem I had was the rope was so finicky that it felt like it had a mind of its own, the controls weren't tight enough, and it made me uncomfortable in navigating the map - especially thinking of how I'm tossing my guy around. If the rope was a bit tenser, and simpler, I think this could be an awesome puzzler. I also just enjoyed exploring the map and seeing the funny stahp sign. Thank you for the game.
Hilarious, first of all! Secondly, I liked the rope and helicopter combo, it's definitely nothing like I've seen before. Rope was a bit finnicky, but I liked the concept of controlling the copter and the guy's throw.
Nice audio and humour. Good use more work with controls and camera.
Got stuck a few times, but very fun game! The sound effects are hilariouus X)
The guy from stream speaking :) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1002881859?t=01h20m17s I liked how simple the game looks and how interesting it is inside. My first thought were "Ok, that will be boring", but then there were some clever puzzles that changed my mind. Great fresh start! P.S. sound is amazing!
I love the audio clips, I couldn't stop repeating them, "I love the smell of dyntoMITE in the morning". Very innovative and challenging gameplay trying to use rope as a main mechanic. The hectic crazy controls add a lot to this humorous game and its aesthetic. Even though the art might look jank, it help with the style the game is going for. Very fun overall! <3
I really liked the concept. I think maybe tweaking the physics a little would help with the game play. Did you do the helicopter by fluttering your lips! Anyway, I love the voiced sound effects. Had me laughing all the way to my grave.
I played this game for a long time lol. The sound effects kept me wanting to go long after I killed the man. Thank you!
:heavy_check_mark: The vocal sound effects completely steal the show .
The **rope** mechanic was also funny, although it seemed kinda weird to control a helicopter through a cave.
Explosions :boom: are always good, Michael Bay approves .
:x: Sometimes the little man got stuck on top of the helicopter and it was very hard to get him hanging back. Also, on a few spots it's actually a bit hard picking up the dynamite because of it.
Maybe make it so that the helicopter can pick up dynamite as well? :bomb: :helicopter:
Absolutely hilarious! The voice acting and other sound effects were just too good. Also like that you can still continue on even if the guy dies. Solid first entry, guys!
Not the best graphics but a fun little game nevertheless. Love the sound effect.
Good job and one more thing...
KABOOM
Dynamite was fun. The string got tangled at times, but nice gameplay anyways.
Heyo, thanks for submitting your game to the stream the other day! Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch, I hope my feedback was helpful!
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1002310964
this was a fun game, it has some janky art but that adds to it in my opinion. and the audio was 10/10 in humor. i did hit a slight snag when i was caught between a literal rock and hard place with no dynomite but honestly with games like this the jankier the better.
10/10 audio, fun and intuitive mechanics, solid submission guys!
KABOOM! I love how death cannot stop the dynomite. Fun SFX. :)
Nice piano music, the game looks like good concept for further puzzles. This really has a vibe of good ol` flash games[*]. Voice acting adds good chunck of humor to it too.
I got a weak spot for voiced audio effects  Fun setup, with the heli and 'dangling man' - would have loved to have use the man/corpse more mechanically :) I encountered some rocks I could not seem to blow up :( Good fun!
Haha, this was awesome. Enjoyed the audio and music, gameplay was interesting and fun, although the physics could be a little frustrating at times. Awesome job.
Nice audio and gameplay, it was actually fun. There wasn't actually any consequences besides the rope being cut. But it was a funny little game
This game was really weird, but I loved it! The foley sound effects killed me and the general mechanic was super funny and enjoyable to use Screenshot from 2021-04-28 22-03-46.png Optimal strat
I loved this strange little game.
Pretty good for 3 days work! I think I'd love to play this as a more fleshed out game!
I really like the sound effects, they gave me a good chuckle haha!
I did get a bit stuck near the one part where you are suppose to chuck dynamite at some rocks so you can lower the giant rocks for the helicopter to move down. But it was mostly me working out the controls; overall solid game!
This one was a real hoot. I love the sound and the ragdoll on the guy. My guy died nearly immediately, but that didn't stop him from throwing dynamite somehow. The crudeness of the art is really more of a fun feature than a problem for me. I loved the little touches (STAHP!, the smiley faces in the pit, the Wilhelm scream, the fun voice comments). The rope was hard to deal with, and when I got the guy stuck on terrain and pulled him upward, he twanged through terrain and the rope was never the same. The zoomy camera I could have done without - that was a little nauseating. This was a delight, though, with all of the silliness.
Definitely a funky title. I liked flinging the man around the most. The sfx were so cheesy that it became funny - I figure that was calculated.
The mechanics were fun, but I felt like there was too much movement going on. The helicopter and the camera zooming in and out really fast was too much.
@tengusheath @dob & others - thanks for the feedback! we've gone ahead and tweaked a variable to make the camera less zoomy, hopefully it helps :)
Unfortunately, this barely runs for me... I get like 10fps in Firefox, and it doesn't run at all in Chromium. I'm on Debian Linux. I'd love a Linux build, if that's easy!
EDIT: The Windows executable runs great under Wine! This game is hilarious, it reminds me of phone games circa 2012, like Jelly Car. Physics are spazzy, but never got stuck, partly because I think the heli's hitbox changes when you change direction.
@adam-selker - ask and ye shall receive! just added the linux build, let me know if it works ok for you, havent tested this on linux before :)
@miej It works perfectly, thank you!
Also: "STAHP", lol. Also that the guy dies but it doesn't really do much. To be fair, he was just dangling there already =P
Simple little game. Seemed to mostly work as expected, though the section with the rocks on the slope almost got me stuck as they didn't want to slide at first.
got to the end without incident. Not sure what kills the little dude since I abused him pretty badly and he seemed just fine.
Pretty fun!
I liked the sound effects, they were really funny. The rope and helicopter dynamics, swinging the guy around and all was also fun to play around with. Good job!
There's some kind of Debug UI in the top left though, I'm not sure if that was on purpose
Fun times, satisfying sound effects.
Could not quite figure out if I needed the guy alive. Eventually got stuck under some boulders, might be nice to have a suicide option to restart.
Pretty fun game, the art is unpolished but not bad and I love the funny soundeffects! Good Job. Can you play and rate my game too, if you find some time.
Good job! I liked the idea, and the rope mechanics feel good. Sound effects were very funny. Graphics were not its strong area, but they did the job! Congrats on a great entry :)
Oh my this game has quite the humor. The gameplay is pretty fun and the audio is just making things better. Great game!
I loved the audio of the game! its always fun when people just make sound effects with their mouths! gameplay was fun and engaging, I have exactly 0 idea how I was meant to keep that man alive xD
pretty nice! the dinamite lunch could use an arrow or something, but really nice non the less!
I laughed a lot, at the speech, the sound effects, the crazy gameplay, the whole silly situation. Nice one. It was very nice of the guy to keep throwing dynamite for me after he was already dead. I guess it would have been nice if the game was a bit longer, with more, trickier challenges.
It was so bad, that it became good again! XD That was the funniest sh*t I played on this jam, thank you!
It was funny, though I caught a bug a couple of times and couldn't throw dynamite, it's a shame :D Overall cool
surprising gameplay. The mouse made sounds deserve a megastar. Thank you
I wish i had more dynoMITE too... fun game and the rope mechanic to go down narrow places was well thought. The voice lines were so fun. The graphics are... lo-fi? Anyway nice little game.
Pretty fun. I enjoyed playing this. Good Job!
Funny little game. Love the voice lines
Great sounds and mechanics. I see you used the Wilhelm scream XD
Congratulations on the game, I felt I was playing one of those flash games from the 2000s, it's fun I could add new phases in the future, a highlight is the sound, even if it sounds simple, it worked well with art, try to put life and time limitations, a big I hug you all, and I await your evaluations regarding my game.
heli.gif
I simply LOVED the sound effects. Very fun game, interesting mechanics, straight to the theme, and I think the graphics "makes a point" to the game itself. Great work!
Voice acting for the sound effects was a great choice! Also it was fun to master the chaotic helicopter+dynomiteguy combo. I ran into the same problem as @pixel-lifetime with the helicopter getting stuck, but I played again knowing to avoid that part of the map, and found the car keys!
cha ching
Hilarious sound design and pretty fun. The camera movement and zooming can get a bit disorienting at times though.
Dude the sound effects are just amazing, I'm speechless. The gameplay was fine, nothing too spicy. It was fun though don't get me wrong. I'd like to have more levels to play through, just to keep hearing the amazing sfx. There could also be a story around finding your car keys and so on. Good job!
:D I loved it, i keep in mind for my next Jam that sound can be make with mouth. Congrats to you.
@UnagiV - if you want some extra inspiration, you should check out the Miyazaki film "The Wind Rises". In it, many sound effects are performed by human voice. I remember when I watched it, that gave the distinct feeling that the story of the film was being told as a campfire tale, narrated by a remarkable story-teller, rather than just being a typical film with highly-processed and specialized sound effects.

Art and music are simple, but the sound effects kept me smiling all game long. There's some puzzle game parts that are fun, maybe you should add more. I don't know if that's normal but at the end of game, I used all my dynoMITEs on my helicopter and went to -52 health :D Nice work, fun game !
The mouth-made SFX are hilarious  Well done!
That's a cool usage of the physics engine. The graphics are not that great but they're funny ^^ The game is not too short nor too long. Perfect timing :ok_hand: Great work! You must have had a good laugh during the jam

One third of the fun of playing Ludum Dare games is finding the amazingly polished jewels that look like they've somehow had six months of labor put into them. The other two-thirds is finding ridiculous nonsense like this. I was laughing the whole way down, aside from the moments I was gasping because I'd just flipped my dude up into my rotors. But my worry was misplaced because this guy's too cool to be sliced and diced; only dynamite's hard enough to hurt him!
Funny dialogue and great rope physics and smooth chopper movement, makes for a funny experience. Good job!
I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said. I loved playing it. I loved the sound effects and the music. I loved every bit of the humor in it. I'd be surprised if you don't end up with a top 10 effort here.
The sound effects are so funny, I laughed all the way through my gameplay. Quick and casual game, humorous touch. Congrats.
Hilarious game, the graphics need a bit of spicing up but the mechanics were solid. I would recommend in adding more humor, it seems to be the strong point of the game. Just an example on what I mean, instead of rocks in the way, make it giant inflatable chickens.
Those sound effects are excellent :D
Was a pretty fun game to play. The sound effects were fantastic and it was mechanically interesting as well. Good job guys
Good fun! I really enjoyed the sound effects, and while the premise was fairly simple I found myself pretty engrossed in getting all the way through. My only complaint is the lack of an ending... I wasn't sure it was over when I reached the key, so I ended up going all the way back up and out. You missed a great opportunity for an easter egg there!! Nice work.
Overall it's pretty fun, love the basic mechanics. A bit more polish to the control and physics of both the helicopter and guy would go a long way. A solid ending screen would be a nice touch as well.
Played both the original and the more polished version. The improvements are pretty stark and appreciated, given my primary frustration was how quickly the rope coiled, then cut off so quickly. The audio and the comical physics of the rope really adds to the humor of the game. In particular, I found the rope physics to be the most interesting part of the game, and would like to have seen more in the level design that would push the player into finding new ways to utilize it. As of the current game state, much of my focus has to be split between keeping the helicopter afloat, vs figuring out where to aim the dynamite. It would be nice if the game allowed more precision in controls, such as removing the gravity on the helicopter controls, allowing the player to focus more on the rope movement and really learn to utilize it.
Also, it's still possible to get the tail of the helicopter stuck in this cave: firefox 2021-05-01 (26985).png

I agree with everyone else on this game!
Amazing game! Everything fit together so well, the music and art were both great, in an almost not "not great" sort of way that just worked (If that makes sense, I'm basically saying they work super well. haha) And the sound effects are top tier! Way nice, very enjoyable.
Hilarious. I love it. Voiceovers are perfection, game is fun. Still a bug or two, but much better than it was when I first saw it streamed back at the beginning of the jam. Well done!
This was extremely fun, especially for a first attempt at a game jam. The sound effects were amazing and had me laughing the whole time :) Great job!
Nice job on your first game jam! I had fun playing it and it looks like you had fun making it.
Feedback - When the player dies reset the game - The audio was going over each other
I love the sound effects :D Funny game. Nice job for your first jam.
This game has a whilhelm, and should therefor win LD48 without contest. The controls are incredibly frustrating, but for once I believe that it’s intentional. The music is good, but the SFX are hands down the best!! Surprisingly, the learning curve on this game is just right for a short bit of fun. I lost a few times, but never felt unfairly stuck. Great Submission!!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007852839?t=2h47m13s
THE SOUND EFFECTS, I WILL DIE THEY ARE TOO GOOD
Played this game on the stream. Really liked the mechanics. The rope was a bit too break-y, but it has been fixed in the revised version.
Super impressive entry for a first jam! Welcome to the fun!
I found the secret stash of dynamite , too.
If anything, I would like to see a fail condition (right now nothing happens when you die), and maybe a less cheesable rope implementation? Even now you can do the "push rope" cheese to maneuver the dude around. Check with the guys from [Orange Diver](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/deep-dive-7) how they implemented their rope! It seems to work a bit more cleanly.
---
Also, I mentioned the music was similar to something I had heard before:
Sweet Dreams, by way too many people. For some reason the youtube embed is kinda broken so here is the video ID: qeMFqkcPYcg
To be fair it doesn't sound much like it, but the dynamics of the vocals kind of sounds like your melody. (no idea if those are the correct music-y terms because I don't know much about that, hope you get the idea)
Nice Game realy liked the Idea. :D
really fun! the mechanic was interesting, and the level design had multiple really good surprises that I wasn't expecting.
I really like how lenient you made the game; I can easily see someone making an alternate version of this game where if you hit the player against a wall too hard, you die and have to restart. But nope, no impact damage! and in fact, no consequence for dying at all, once I finally figured out how to do that! (well, maybe I missed a special "you win" screen or something). And yeah, that version of the game would be much worse IMO; the leniency in this game is perfectly suited for the vibe this game creates. feels like this could be a classic flash game. really nice work!
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1008781774?t=01h49m12s
HAHAHAHAHAHA! This was so great. Everything about it is great. Thanks for sharing!
It's a funny concept, and it shines with the level design. Good job!
Very interesting. the noises made me crack up. Good job
Sound effects are extremely amusing! I purely loved them  The gameplay is quite fun and the stuff you can do to the poor guy on the rope is hilarious.
Art is, let's be honest, not very good. It would actually be better if you would go all the way with the hand-drawn pencil style you have going on with the helicopter (meaning, also make backgrounds and effects like that). It's the dissonance between the different styles that spoils the impression the most.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended behavior - but a dead guy can still throw dynamite. Maybe he is just that determined to get his keys
Screenshot_14.jpg
20/10 SFX, and in general I really liked the feel and humor of the game. It was very difficult from the very beginning ---maybe making an easier way to "practice" throws would help? Overall, great job!
Thank you for tuning in; I had a blast. This game has a certain jam charm to it which is not a bad thing but you definitely have a large room for improvement in the art department. The puzzles were pretty good and the lack of real death mechanics makes the game unintentionally relaxing. And of course I love you for using so much voice acting.
This game is honestly really good! The graphics could use some work, but it actually fits well with the audio and humor. I wish the pile of dynomites at the end had more use, I was ready to blow stuff up >:)
Great work, I would definitely play more of this with more levels + challenges!
