LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Into the Castle by groverburger 2021-04-29T20:03:12Z

Thanks for submitting this to us to play on stream the other day! Loved the game, it was very well made and there were a lot of little details that really propelled it to the next level. Loved the way you took the theme, moving deeper into the background, and the gameplay was really fun.

Super Drill Diver! by Cornflowerblue 2021-04-28T00:01:07Z

That was super cute! Controls were a little bit hard to use for me (as others have said, high sensitivity, and I also had troubles aiming my jumps, since I'd frequently slide off). But I really enjoyed it, it really feels like a full-fledged game. Goes well beyond what I expect for 3 days of work.

Stolen Time by loginaut 2021-04-27T03:14:48Z

Not bad, but I agree with some of the other people who played. It's a little hard to figure out what to do, even with the spoiler hints. It's not very intuitive to go to the future, move to an area that was inaccessible in the past, and go back to the past to get through (I'm still not even sure if that's what I'm meant to do). I do love the idea though, and I think there's a lot you could do to build off of it and add more features. Well done!

Diggurai by svyatozar 2021-04-30T06:31:16Z

Thanks for submitting it for us to play! I enjoyed it! I think a few of the platforms were a little bit tough to get onto (like they were the "exact" height that I could jump and made it difficult). Other than that I really enjoyed it!

Tunnel of Love: I'm Digging It by chelC 2021-04-29T20:37:23Z

Absolutely phenomenal. Humor was on point, art was beautiful, gameplay was fun. You guys knocked it out of the park. With some more levels, I'd buy a post-jam version of the game. Heck, as it is now I'd probably pay a few bucks for it.

Loach Dive by Manan 2021-04-30T05:39:26Z

Lots of fun, I liked the "puzzle-y" way to defeat the boss. Thanks for letting me play!

Ventil Of View by ArtoniX 2021-05-02T06:35:46Z

Crazy. I liked the game a lot, I couldn't wrap my mind around how the room was rotating, but was able to figure out the puzzles anyway. And the atmosphere was amazing! Thanks for submitting it to our stream!

The Dive by raptor851 2021-04-30T06:12:44Z

Thanks for submitting it! Exactly the style of game I like, similar in a way to the Cube Escape games. I want more!

Deep Dungeon Tactics by Aditya Kumar 2021-05-02T06:23:25Z

Uber fun! I played it for a while. Lost my knight and archer at the beginning of the game, only had my mage from then on. Got to depth 10, got my mage up to level 50+ and was one shotting every enemy. Obviously as you said in stream, there's still some balancing issues to figure out. But there's a basis for a really good game here. Thanks for letting me play!

The Deepest Fish by LeYamez 2021-04-29T20:40:36Z

Wow. You guys had me hooked (no pun intended). I couldn't stop playing. Definitely had some Undertale vibes. It'd be amazing if each fish had slightly different mechanics, but knowing how little time you guys had to make it, I'm seriously impressed. Well done.

Deep Into the Night by Profugo Barbatus 2021-05-02T07:30:27Z

I loved this. That was really cool. The art was fantastic, gameplay was super innovative with an awesome take on a management style game. Thanks for submitting this for us to play! Would hate to have missed this one.

Deep Dive Drive 2000 by Dane Tesla 2021-05-08T03:58:01Z

Amazing art! Probably my favorite part of the game. So unique. The radio stations were pretty cool, music was nice. It did feel a little bit too slow though at times, though I realize this game is probably more about taking in the art than it is about the gameplay (much like our game). By the way, did I mention how cool the art was?

Sewer's Plague : Into the nest by Nicolas Revillon 2021-05-03T20:40:58Z

I just saw your post on the big update you just released, do you have the initial jam version that I could try to give you guys a fair review?

Boris with a crazy dream by Kirby 2021-04-27T02:48:37Z

That art is really nice! I think you hold the player's hand a little bit too much though. Rather than telling me what to do I'd love some type of visual confirmation (for example, electricity in the water, but once I cut the wire, the electricity disappears). I liked it though!

Monster Tower by LungTakumi 2021-04-30T04:43:31Z

Thanks for submitting the game for us to stream! Couple things of feedback I also mentioned on the stream, The hitboxes were a little funky at times, the mood as a whole felt great though. And then as others mentioned, the platforms felt like they disappeared a bit too far from the top, and they appeared before you could actually see them at the bottom. Thanks for letting us play!

Spacepunk 48 by mlkvr 2021-04-27T02:44:30Z

I thought it was pretty enjoyable. It felt at times like I was required to something or else I'd just lose instantly (for example, if I didn't make the kids work I'd have lost). Not bad though! I think this could be really fun if it was fully fleshed out.

Frog by cacciatc 2021-05-02T07:09:54Z

Fantastic, innovative, tons of fun to play. The mechanics are awesome. I especially liked the ending song. Thanks for letting us play it!

Khazads by vsi- 2021-04-30T06:39:49Z

Thanks for letting us play! I enjoyed it, would love to have played more. I think the boss could have been a bit more difficult. It seemed easier than the standard skeletons earlier in the game.

Runner Ore by ThatANoNoWord 2021-04-29T20:34:36Z

This was pretty fun to play. I loved chasing the ores around. A little more features would go a long way if you decide to do a post-jam version!

Deep Dig Pizza by Brandon Garcia 2021-04-29T20:06:53Z

Wonderful! Taking the classic food order fulfillment genre to the next level by requiring you to scavenge for ingredients. My main critique is to let us close the menu with E, the same way you open it. Too often I lost time when I forgot it doesn't close with E. Thanks for submitting the game to us to stream!

Sun Core by ZeroKun 2021-04-30T05:56:24Z

Lots of fun! I sucked (you even told me so), but still had lots of fun. Thanks for sending it our way!

Surface Level by javi7 2021-05-02T05:29:16Z

Really cool! I sucked at it, but it was still really fun, I loved the music and sounds. Thanks for submitting it to us to play!

The Hunt by Ajay 2021-04-29T19:44:24Z

Also getting a 404, looks like the game never got uploaded. I went to your profile page and nothing showed up their either.

Dive & Dig by andrewkennedy 2021-04-27T23:52:39Z

Really fun! I love how "Dive" and "Dig" each have slightly different mechanics. I got down to around 780m before I had the same bug that wouldn't let me dig anymore. And as others pointed out, it's really easy to accidentally skip the dialogue. Overall, very enjoyable though.

Where's my dynoMITE? [LD48] by miej 2021-05-02T05:27:42Z

Hilarious. I love it. Voiceovers are perfection, game is fun. Still a bug or two, but much better than it was when I first saw it streamed back at the beginning of the jam. Well done!

Dwarven Depths by steelax 2021-04-27T23:43:51Z

Couple of random things. First, I really liked the game. The whole theme, story, and gameplay kept me playing to the end (and that twist!). I did notice a few bugs though.

When moving the mouse over a certain direction (I first noticed this in the throne room), the mouse becomes a bit jittery and moves faster than it does facing any other direction. I believe this is when I was at the edge of the room (or in one of the side rooms) and looking toward the center. My team and I had this issue in one of our games, from what I remember it was something with the textures being too detailed, so it kind of became laggy/jittery when facing those textures. I'm not sure what you can do with bought assets, but if it's possible to dumb them down in some way to prevent that, that would be great. I'm sure you'd have to experiment around with some stuff.

The narrator also told me that I couldn't jump the gap in the stairs and that I'd need to find another way up. I'm not entirely sure what I did but I was able to double/triple jump and make it up there. I did find the proper solution on a second playthrough though.

Some of the subtitles were slightly out of view of my screen when I wasn't in full screen, and I had a little bit of trouble understanding the narrator at times, but I thought her voice overall was perfect.

I did really enjoy the game though and would love to see what comes of it!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-27T14:02:23Z

@blanky-and-rocket there was one more interactable with the bookshelf in the first room. Basically as if your mom knocked it down in anger. Thanks for the feedback! It helps knowing what we need to fix to make the game make more sense.

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-27T14:07:23Z

@le-slo We definitely wanted to add sound queues but were pressed for time (of course) haha. With the bookshelf we were attempting to make it seem like your mom knocked it over. The toy car was you "driving back home". And yes, the goal was to put 4 toys in jail. We could have made that clearer, and also probably should have given a reason to put 4 in there. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-27T14:20:41Z

@toilari Thank you so much! General consensus seems to agree that the puzzles need a bit more direction.

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-28T20:01:23Z

@tsuk13 Not that we want you to be depressed, but we're glad you were impacted by the message, and we hope you were uplifted a bit by the end. Thanks for playing!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-28T22:39:34Z

@arguablyarugula I do think the sprint speed is probably the "default" playing speed we meant it to be played at. With the amount of dialogue we had, and how close it was together, we had two possible choices...one speed (the current sprint speed), or a walking and sprinting speed (as it currently is, which is what we decided on). If you happen to see this, I'm curious which one you would have preferred between these two options. Definitely good feedback, thanks for playing!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-29T03:52:29Z

@studio-gomp I was the one that wrote the dialogue, and I have had that same thought while watching others play the game. For the final area (spoilers ahead for those who haven't played it), I would like to adjust the dialogue to be more "hopeful" instead of "confident".

For example, instead of "I can choose to be happy", I would like to do "Maybe I can be happy". Instead of "Life WILL get better", I would like to go the route of "Maybe life does get better".

Minor changes, but I think that solves several problems. For example, it fixes the hard turn from depressing to overly optimistic and sets it up to be optimistically hopeful instead (which fits better with what our original intent was), and it helps avoid the issue of downplaying depression and the time/effort required to heal from traumatic experiences.

Thanks for the feedback!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-29T17:26:48Z

@youhou As @tanner-shelton said, the dialogue was important for a lot of the story and did describe the theme. It was a lot harder to take a more abstract approach than a direct approach as most people did. I did a last, quick playthrough half an hour before submission time to adjust the dialogue timers a bit, but since I was rushed and I already knew what it said, I was probably reading it faster than most people normally would, especially if they want to take their time and enjoy the experience. Thanks for the feedback!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-30T15:23:43Z

@zerokun We did optimize Hope a little bit after release, but it looks like we've probably gotta fix it up a bit more. Could you let us know your specs?

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-30T15:30:58Z

@john-llyod-apolo We've received a lot of feedback on the text. Many people have mentioned that it disappears too quickly, so lengthening the duration would at least help, but it still requires you to take your focus away from the art. We would love to have some voice acting, curious on your thoughts. Would that be something you'd feel would help?

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-30T15:38:24Z

@annie-owl Thanks for the positive feedback! @link270 threw together those songs super quickly at the end, mostly just so we would have something to present. Personally, I think he's got a lot of talent managing to make such cool songs so quickly. Thanks again for playing!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-05-01T02:20:29Z

@raptor851 That's strange, that's the first I've heard of a bug like that. We'll have @link270 look into it further and see if we can't get it squashed. Thanks for the feedback though!

Wasp Digging Hive Builder by TheWhiteRice 2021-04-27T03:02:30Z

I think there's a good basis here for a fun game! Collisions with the other bees made it hard to get around after I had a few of them. But I'd love to build an entire colony and see it continue to grow. Great job!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-04-30T05:10:16Z

Amazing, so unique, tons of fun. Thanks for letting us play it! There are so many great games we'd miss otherwise. Thanks again!

Vax Quest by not-tomo 2021-04-27T02:51:38Z

I'd love to try out your game but it's not showing up on itch.io

Vax Quest by not-tomo 2021-04-27T03:21:33Z

Awesome! I'm not great at these bullet hell games, but I enjoyed it! It played great and, even though it was pretty tough, I liked it a lot. Well done!

Danger Rat by Studio Gomp 2021-04-28T04:07:03Z

Awesome! I really enjoyed it. Had lots of fun attacking the birds and snakes and stuff. Music was a banger. It was really tough reacting in time to dodge obstacles at times, but that's partially probably due to my slow reaction time haha. And then I had a slight bug that froze me at the top a couple of times. Pausing and restarting it fixed it, so was still able to play.

Dahla's Journey by PiJaMar 2021-04-30T06:57:45Z

Thanks for letting us play! Never seen a game like this before, was very strategic, yet very simple. Just how I like it. I do want to find out the meaning of life, though. And see if it's 42 ;)

Deeper and Deeper in the Woods by Mizatorian 2021-05-02T05:59:34Z

The sounds were great, had me laughing. Loved it. This could be really cool as a fleshed out game, traveling down one of several paths depending on the sounds each makes. Thanks for letting us play!

[HTML5] Bodenhorizont by minotalen 2021-04-29T20:09:27Z

This was a really interesting game! I loved seeing my plant grow and evolve. I would have loved a bit more strategy to the game. Too many times I got stuck because of the randomness of the way the plants moved and couldn't get to all of the items around. The treasure at the bottom seemed especially difficult to get. Thanks for submitting the game to us to play on stream!

Potato Pandemonium by SugarSugarSugar 2021-04-29T20:04:43Z

Lots of fun! Thanks for submitting it to us to stream the other day. Movement felt awkward at first, but after getting used to it it was pretty cool and unique.

Beepo's Shop by itsBoats 2021-04-30T05:27:59Z

Super fun, thanks for submitting it for us to play!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

My happy weedy farm by Marin0104 2022-04-07T00:36:17Z

Really cute game! I do wish I could pick what tool I'm using manually sometimes, and I feel like clicking would be a bit more intuitive to the controls than the options you gave. But as I said, it's super cute and I really enjoyed it!

The Hero (...Always Wins) by Link270 2022-04-05T17:36:00Z

@castoor A few of the monsters are supposed to stay in place, while others chase the hero wherever he is. We'll make that more clear in future revisions though! And we'll look at adding different options for placing towers, including clicking on the tower first, and potentially dragging and dropping. Thanks for the feedback!

Timeless by shmador 2022-04-07T00:52:17Z

That was amazing! I loved how there were new mechanics introduced steadily. I'm not great at puzzle games (though I do like them), but none of them felt too hard to me, but I felt accomplished when I figured them out. They felt perfectly balanced to me. The art style is super unique, your take on the theme was unique, overall just a whole lot of good stuff going on!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

MAGIC-281: Intro to Alchemy by ninjacreeper47 2022-10-08T05:21:22Z

This was phenomenal, I got 14/18, no cheating. I'd read an entire book with this magic system, it was a lot of fun to learn about. Thanks for making it!

Laika's Revenge by bloodyaugust 2022-10-08T06:13:13Z

I really liked the art style! Super unique. As far as gameplay, once I'd bought like 2 or 3 upgrades, it was a walk in the park. Which is fine, as I'm sure Laika loves walks in the park. It was a lot of fun though, thanks for sharing!

EX SOMNIUM by GuitarBro 2022-10-05T00:03:18Z

I enjoyed it! Nice music, great atmosphere. I am pretty sure I was able to skip a couple of puzzles...it seemed like I made it to a light I wasn't supposed to reach yet every once in a while.

Fish n Keys by BobFish 2022-10-04T23:11:49Z

I was able to beat your score, and I did see your previous post :) got a high score of 33. Lots of fun though! I really liked it, had lots of fun. Once I realized that each letter actually corresponded to the name of the food, it made it a lot quicker to knock orders out. I think I missed 2, both were the last ones of the day that I didn't quite have time to make.

Fish n Keys by BobFish 2022-10-05T04:00:26Z

Steam name is the same, should be a pic of a rhino :)

Bots, Bots, Bots by Link270 2022-10-07T13:39:54Z

@kaech Unless we changed it just prior to release and I'm forgetting, the ultimate robot costs the currencies listed, as well as one of each building in the tree. If you also had one of each building, that's a bug we'd have to look into further.

@pete-thorne Robots make you silicon, if you build a repair center that consumes all of your silicon and robots, you'll be locked out and unable to make any more silicon. So you kind of have to make sure you make enough money that you're able to replenish your robot supply before you go all-in on buildings. But if for some reason the Mac build wasn't generating currencies correctly, that's also something we'd have to look into further... we'll also see if we can check into the UI elements being all funky, and the lag. Just have to find someone we know with a Mac at this point haha.

Speed Dating for Misfits by itsBoats 2022-10-08T05:31:30Z

Super funny, I really enjoyed playing it. I'm glad you added a pause option, because a lot of the dialogue was hilarious and I hated missing it in the 10 seconds I had.

LD53 — Delivery

Xerpa Delivery by MaximeG 2023-05-18T04:40:14Z

Man, I loved this game. As someone else says, level 3 seems to crash. I was able to beat 1 and 2. Personally, I loved the controls, it made it super unique. Really hard too, but satisfying once you get it. Nice job!

I really enjoy it! We'll see if I can beat it in a few more tries :)

Edit: Ok this might be as good as I get
