I found the tutorial at the start overwhelming, but when I actually got to play the game, it was really good! You start simple and are panicking to figure out what to do, but when you figure it out, you can ace it every time (since you can just read the first letter of each component of the order and press that key). Cool idea, cool execution, Zuccini Chips are lame!

Very innovative concept! The keyboard chording aspect was pretty cool, and some of the sound effects for various combinations were pretty funny. The images definitely work because once I got the hang of it I didn't even need to see the images :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: One thing I missed was some way of visually telling how long it's taking to make items... without knowing that it seems like it'd be impossible to make 100% of the orders as things got more complicated. Overall nice work!!

Fun and funny game, neat concept and perfect choices of menu items! It's great that you don't need to memorize the key combinations but can tell by the order name. Love the art too, it reminded me a bit of Kingdom of Loathing. I guess my keyboard is too cheap to play properly though... some combinations of keys just won't work. But that's a hardware problem.

It was a nice experience, fun concept and nice difficulty curve. Even though there was a lot of things it's nice that the first letter corresponds to keys. _X_ and _V_ keys didn't work for me.

Cool game

Everything is well executed in terms of menu items and great input feedback. my only issue is the keyboard gymnastics to input the commands but regardless its still fun to play.

Cool concept. You can get quite good at it with a bit of practice. Visual feedback that food is cooking would be nice, maybe some kind of timer bar near the area where the things you've already cooked sit.

Some of the keyboard gymnastics you can hit in one motion are surpring 🤣

Loved this game, it is an interesting alteration of the game I made last LD. I loved first was concerned of using a QWERTZ keyboard for this QWERTY game, but it turned out fine, since the words all corresponded to the buttons. It is a really cool idea nicely executed, and I think you can be forgiven for the missing phone and the rushed art, I for one thought it looked nice! :D

I was able to beat your score, and I did see your previous post :) got a high score of 33. Lots of fun though! I really liked it, had lots of fun. Once I realized that each letter actually corresponded to the name of the food, it made it a lot quicker to knock orders out. I think I missed 2, both were the last ones of the day that I didn't quite have time to make.

I think there are some obvious things to improve on. Things like a timer to display time left in cooking, art and other stuff.

But at it's base, I think this is a fantastic game. I think it would be better themed as a cash register operator taking order through drive through. Maybe you would have to interpret what the customer is saying rather than being given the exact thing to punch as I found it a tiny bit easy because all the letters corresponded (which is a great decision, just made it a bit easier to remember and play)

I feel like I could play this for a very long time, haha. It was really fun. My highscore was 27. There were some times I couldn't cook specific foods, like 4 grilled eels. If no one else is having this issue I think it's just my cheap keyboard. :) I like the tutorial at the beginning, and the logic with items corresponding with keyboard keys. It was very fun getting in to the flow of it all. Great idea and execution. :)

Fun sounds and icons, love the energy... felt a bit of input lag, but maybe that was my keyboard? Cook, Serve, Delicious, watch out!!!

shuimen 2022-10-06 12:21

Good idea! I like the sound and icon! Nice work! ...But maybe something wrong with my keyboard when typing some letters... But still fun!

shmador 2022-10-06 12:57

I see this idea working well as a full project, pretty innovative. Had fun playing :D

papaver 2022-10-06 20:43

Interesting game! I enjoyed dancing around on the keyboard to make the combinations. But soehow, some combinations seemed impossible, it wouldn't accept one of the keys, but then sometimes it would work on my build-in laptop keyboard, or the other way around.. I noticed that after day 5 I could continue to play, although it didn't count anymore for the score. ;) Well done!

corporation 2022-10-06 20:55

Actually very coll concept, sad you didn't have time for graphics, they would really enhance experience, but we all've been there) love the original idea, well done!

Cool!
