Your Planet: Too Big by Scriptorum 2017-05-17T15:07:24Z
Nice game! I enjoyed playing it. The random levels can indeed be hard. ^^ Congrats!

Nice game! I enjoyed playing it. The random levels can indeed be hard. ^^ Congrats!
Nice entry! I liked the story with the intro and outro. ^^ The music and the drawing style fit nice with it. I had to get used to that gravity depended on the last planet you touch. I needed the hint in the comments to pass level 3. ;) Well done!
@ryguydavis: Thank you so much for your great feedback! Indeed, our level design needs a lot of attention, we wanted too much in too short time... ;)
@Ace17: Thanks for trying. We didn't test our game in older browsers... :(
@CheesyMoo: Thanks for playing. We should have made it easier indeed. :)
@eli-delventhal: thank you for your comment. Now that I click on the link in Chrome, I see that the blocks are not drawn properly! That is why the normal and cactus blocks looked so similar. The blocks should look as in the screenshot. If I refresh, everything is fine, so maybe you can try that. Weird... We didn't see this problem before. We will try to fix this! The platforming is sometimes indeed a bit weird. We use polar/radial coordinates, an this gave us some unexpected problems... which we will try to fix for a post-compo version. There are actually checkpoints - the green flags!
@pikopik and @mihaylovartem74: thanks for your nice comments. :) I made a quick half-fix for the art to load properly (but only after you hit space :S).
@pankamil: thanks! The level design indeed needs some attention.
@doomshmuck: if you mean the cold chamber with the 'bees', it is not just a waiting game, you should also do something with the crystals. Indeed, the controls and the platforming have some issues still, sadly. :( Thanks for playing!
That was fun to play. :) My longest flight was 1:14. The birds were quite hard to avoid, I often wished I could change my speed. I like how you the small world had different parts, with sea, land and desert. Well done. :)
I like the idea of controlling puppets and your introduction of the controls. (It is a bit confusing that in the Controls section you mention D for both shifting weight and lifting a leg). I was quite bad at the actual fighting. ;) The graphics are very nice, (I also liked the curtains!) but the health bars are unexpectedly basic. ;)
Well done!
That was fun to play! Great mechanic, probably difficult to program, but it worked very well! In the beginning, the controls are shown, and somehow this made me think that I didn't need the mouse. ;) But I found that out soon of enough when I couldn't proceed. ;)
Well done! :)
Nice game! I like how the graphics are different each level, although I was suprised by the lava in each level. ;) The first levels were too easy. And since you don't lose your upgrades when you lose, I was just carelessly walking and jumping around and buying stuff. Soon I had all the upgrades, and this way I finished the game. Therefore, for me it was not so much fun. Also, jumping while standing in front of a wall was a bit weird and the jumping sound soon annoyed me, but the music was quite nice. Overall, well done! :)
Well done! I had fun playing this. I really like the art and all the different planets. You chose a great piece of music to go with it. I liked jumping around space with my 'polonaise' of cats. :smiley_cat: :smile_cat: :tiger: :heart_eyes_cat: :cat: Sometimes I felt I did not have that much control over the jumping, but other than that, great game!
Nice game! It was fun to play with, but for me it was too easy. I like how the levels are generated, so one could play it more often. :)
Nice game! I had fun playing it. :) It is funny that in this game (unlike many games), every level starts harder than it ends. :) The text was a nice touch, but it took a while before I noticed it, it is so tiny!
Cute game! I am bit confused how much water a plant needs, but it was fun to see them grow. I was suprised by the cat, that was nice. :) I was also surprised that the cat sometimes was in another location than I expected. The graphics are cute, but you could consider using the same line width in your drawings. The music was nice, and I would have liked it (or other music) in-game as well! I was also confused that I had to use the down arrow key to harvest the food. Congrats with your game. :D
Congats, you made a very nice and relaxing game! :) It is very innovative as well, and the music suits the game.
Great game! I enjoyed playing it and I liked the audio and the graphics. The animations/explosions when you crush a planet are very satisfying. I was a bit confused how it works when I wanted to go to a new planet, I wasn't sure if had influence on the direction that I was flying.
Well done! :)
Great game! I had quite some fun playing this, and I played for quite a while. The first 5 times or so I failed at the very start, but once you have it up and running, it is quite easy to manage. There didn't seem to be an end or winning condition; I was waiting for more cities to appear, but I guess I found the end, and now only have to wait for my gold to pile up and become the richest woman around! ;) The graphics are amazing, and the dropping coins with the wonderful sound are a nice touch. :) Very nice to have a 3D map of the world! As some others said, a fast forward mode and a number of how many coins you have would be nice extra features. Very well done!
Phew, I finally unlocked all the 10 atoms. That was a lot of clicking. ;) It was not that educational for me, except that I needed a lot of protons, neutrons and elcetrons. ;) For it to be more educational, it would be nice if the amount of P,N,E needed to build an atom were still visible after clicking it. Also, maybe the picture in the screen can change according to type of atom that you click? It seems that as a player, I better not use the atoms per second functionality, so that you don't lose too many basic P,N,E all the time. There didn't seem to be a winning condition. Congrats with your game. :)
Nice game! I was pretty bad at it, but my friend finished all 5 areas it on his first try! I like the graphics, the shadows, the explosion effects, and how the asteroids look different in each level. Sometimes it is hard to see what is the front of the Rashlander. Really well done! :D
When I saw the GIF, I thought, I should try that, it looks a bit similar to our game, but it was quite different! :) I liked the dancing yellow blobs around the beehive, but I had trouble finding it. Since the background was static, I had no sense of direction. Perhaps you could add some pointers on screen as where to find planets and the beehive, or a minimap. It was nice to pick up the honey from the flowers and liked finding new planets, but the big bees were way to fast and big to avoid. I liked the graphics as well, only when I lost, the graphics did some funny things (the pictures left a trail around the edges of the screen). But overall, well done! :)
Congrats on your game! The simplistic look and the hard levels actually combine quite well. I had fun playing. I also got stuck first in level 1 until I descovered wall jumping, so I could pass that level. A normal jump near a wall was not possible, which annoyed me sometimes. Eventually I could not get past level 2. Great job!
So, that took really long. :P I was playing with a friend and when we had 100 days left we were 562 happy! But soon after, everything we did was not making us happy. In the end, I miss-clicked and spent too much money, with 8 days to go. Instant kill. Noooo, we wanted to see what would happen at 0 days. ;) The game is very slow-paced, I wanted to give up quite soon, but we persevered! (All the months seem to have the same number of days, starting on the same day of the week. :P ) The stocks only seemed to go down. When buying stocks, it was a bit annoying that I couldn't see how much money I had. We enjoyed making up reasons why we increased or decreased our happiness. It is funny how the mind tries to make sense of it. ^^ I think with some adaptations you could make a nice game out of this!

Congrats with your game! Nice touch that you can use your Ludum Dare user name to get my profile picture. :) At first I ignored the upgrades, but once I discovered and started to use them, it got more interesting. Also it was not clear at first that I should give people presents in the right color. I still don't know how it affects what they think of me if I give hem nothing or the wrong color. What would you think of displaying the bar of what they think of you above there heads? Or should I remember it for all my friends? ;) Also, it wasn't clear to me if there was a winning condition ( although I see from the comment by @arrigo that there is). I stopped in year 20, after I tried to not give any presents and see what it did (my friends didn't like it, but I still got presents! :P). At that time, the prices were getting double digits, which made them harder to read. I think some christmassy music would had added to the mood. ;) Overall, good job!
Congrats with your game! I think this game could be turned into a nice multi-player game. It's like lasergaming. :) It seems as if there is not yet a winning condition implemented and the sprint and energy bars didn't seem to have a function yet. The level/world didn't feel very suitable for the game.
Congrats on making AI players! Sometimes it was a bit hard to see which character was mine when I was trapped in a corner with all the other players.
I think this game has potential, and I am curious to see what it will turn into post-jam!
In July of the Year 48, I finally managed to save enough money for retirement, and finished the game. :) (After a few failed attempts...) I didn't buy any new land - I was too busy cleaning, I would have liked to buy a cleaning robot or hire a helper. I divided the farm into three parts, and after a while I had a system of keeping chickens of the same age in the same part. I guess I had too many chickens and too much dirt, because I didn't manage to keep the chickens happy. I really like the music and the art, and the game looks very finished. The tutorial is useful. Great job!
Nice game! I enjoyed playing, until the second level with the yellow arrows, then it got too much. Without a restart button, it is too much of a hassle and then there is not enough room to experiment. I pressed 'R' once to try if that resets the level, but I found out it resets the game... I like that the package are customized with stamps etc., nice touch. ^^
Congrats on your game! I really liked the animation of the player! The dragging of the paperwork got annoying quite quickly ;) I like the theme of your game and how it was almost all black, white and grey, although for me, the different stroke widths make it look less coherent. Maybe it is nice to put the 'click to grab papers when you have gold' hint somewhere here too, because that part took me way too long. ;)
I had fun playing this. I liked that as a player you have some small subgoals in the beginning, the auto-feeder and the milking machine. It seemed that buying land was not necessary, I tried buying a whole lot of cows to find some kind of limit, but never bumped into a problem. I would have liked a stat that states how many cows I have. I liked that the price of slaughtering a cow changed when the cow had an age over 500 and below 600 days/years/ticks. If I wanted to buy lots of hay or cows, it was unclear if my fast clicks were all registered, since the numbers would only update every tick. Quite addicting game, congrats. :)
Nice game, it looks clean and finished! I enjoyed playing it. I got 26 the first time and 38 the second time. I was wondering how you pick the new color, if you consider any 'distance' between the colors. On my laptop, with a screen that is not too big, I would have preferred a more horizontal layout of the colors that I earned.
I enjoyed playing this game. I liked the music and the highscore tables. The boxes were a bit too bouncy for my taste, although that also makes it funny. ;) Congrats on your game! :)
I liked the game from the start, when every time my mouse went over the button, it would make a different saxophone sound. ^^ The game looks finished, I like the sounds and the art. It took me a while to recognise the UI about the number of fans and my 'life bar'. The game play seemed to be mainly a matter of button mashing, with an well-placed 'R' when available. I think this would make a nice two-player game! Congrats!
The game has potential if given more time to polish. I liked the idea, but the controlling of the trolley was very hard. The shopping list was covering part of my shop, and it was hard to see the items in the shop on the left.I managed to clear the first level. The quit button didn't seem to work. I liked the voxel art, and how many items you made for the shop.
Very enjoyable game! Surprisingly hard as well... I think this would be a nice game for touch screens. ^^ I like that you can still watch the chaos after a crash. I would have liked some auto/traffic sounds for the mood. Very well done!
Congrats on your game! I got till level 3 with 5 drinks. I liked that the tempo of the music was changing and the camera started wobbling. :)
Nice game! I like puzzle games. :)
In the start, I also had the problem that I already placed food by accident and it seemed like the mouse was not working, but apparently I already placed 2 out of 2 food before the level loaded (Chrome on Windows). Luckily I read @burgee 's comment, which also explained why the pre-placed food was different each time. ;)
I was stuck in level 3 for a while, since I thought that I had to collect all the piggles, so I had to avoid every piggle pile. ;)
I liked the music, although the loop was a bit short, so after a while I enjoyed the Mute button, and then later I turned the music again on for a few loops. :)
Nice game! It took me way too long to see the orders, and later the green time-indicators, because I was running around in the room. :P But that's my fault, it's all there and quite clear actually. ;) I enjoyed playing the game! Though, it was a bit frustrating that if I just missed an order by a second, I would get 2 misses, one for too late and one for wrong order... Also, it was hard to see what I was going to pick up or where I would put it down, but that somehow also made it more hilarious/chaotic. ;) I liked that I could adjust the speed of the conveyer belt myself. I tried the game a couple of times and my highscore is 16, which doesn't feel like that much. ;) It seemed like there weren't enough plain white sushi coming. Congrats on your game!
Nice game! I liked that you had different music and different movements for each different costume. I also liked that the radius of the circles of your friends got bigger over time, and with the red en green circles it was clear to see who were your friends at that moment. I finished the game, but actually in the last level I got a bit bored and almost quit. My strategy was always: skaters, furries and then jocks.
Wow, this is a hard game. My best was 31 seconds... I like the meowing sounds. Sometimes it felt like my clicking on a cat didn't do anything, and I also didn't notice what happened if I would overfeed a cat.
@fractalsunrise: thanks! :D
@bryceltaylor: Yes, I agree that you have to get used to the controls... At first I had not implemented the up-arrow key, but then brute forcing (without looking at what you actually found) was working too well...
@peachtreeoath: thank you for your nice comment! I was wondering how players would sort the boxes (if people would sort at all), thanks for sharing your strategy. :)
@igor-kingamer: thank you for the kind words and the suggestion! I will try that for the post-compo version :)
@vasco-rodrigues: Thanks! Perhaps I should have added some more easy levels. It gets quite frantic indeed. ;)
@thrillho: Thanks! I'll make some more grumpy sounds for the post-compo edition. ;)
@gomango999: thanks :)
@ponchoguy: Thanks for playing, and congrats that you made it till the end! Thanks for the suggestion, I would have to think about how to implement some kind of score, just based on how much time is left? Or maybe on how many times a box was unnecessarily opened? ;)
@lilkrit: Thanks! :) It's actually not even that much christmas themed, just one christmas ball and a star. Oh, and maybe the candles. ;)
@jordgubben: I had that at first, that you automatically collected the item if it was the right one, but I liked it more that you actually have to pay attention and look at what you just found and then act if it is the right item. Without this, the game can almost be played without even looking at what you are searching for.
Very nice game! Indeed, I had to get used to the controls. Also it took a while before I noticed I could wall jump with my tape dispenser, very clever. ^^ The high score seemed to be pre-set to 7500, which I didn't get for many attempts. :P It was quite addictive, and I made it to 23860. Sometimes it was annoying that I couldn't abort my stomping action of several crates to run away for the next incoming crate. I liked the music and the graphics, I am blown away that you made all this in 48h! :o Congrats!
Nice game! It took me a while to realise that there were minigames and how to play them. I didnt see why I was game over, it would be nice to present some feedback to the player. Nice art and music. :)
Congrats on your first Ludum Dare game! Unfortunately, for me it was not that much fun to play (partly because I already played some sorting games this LD). Only after 3 minutes the first crate dropped. After 4:41:53 minutes of frantically clicking and dragging the mouse, my hand starts to hurt. ;) Maybe it would be more fun on a mobile with touch controls. The 50 crates seemed to be a too high treshold; I think if the threshold would be lower, a player would be more inclined to try to beat his or her score. It is nice that you added a tutorial (although I started by actually clicking the red crate a few times before I saw the 'continue' button on the bottom ;) )
I like that you added a leader board - second place currently! ;)
Nice game! I just had to try this, as a juggler. ;) I got till 100+ or so, (the end screen dissappeared too soon because I accidently pressed a button) and I wondered if he would juggle more knifes later on. :) The player actually never sees a finished word, because it immediately disappears on typing the last letter. Maybe some tweening or spicing up could help to celebrate and visualize that the player completed a word. :) Well done!
Cute little game! I like the art. It was quite a challenge to host a decent tea party. "Let me through, I need to cleeaaaannn!" I collected 20 cats, and I needed 21 cats for the next tea party, but although I clicked Yes when prompted if I wanted another cat, I didn't get a new one, so the game sort of got stuck there for me... It would have been nice if the player could see if the highlighted poo was within cleaning reach or not. Congrats on your game!
Ooh I really like the music, and how it is in the same rhythm as the countdown. I enjoyed playing, but I never got to 88, got stuck around 60. It seemed that the first time I played, there was no second wave and when I pressed Esc it unexpectedly (for me at least) completely quit the game. The screen shake adds a nice effect to the stomping (is it on purpose that the text doesn't shake along)? I missed a restart button. The artwork is really nice, which gives it a real nice mood! Congrats with your great game!
Really nice and polished game! It was quite fun to play, although it was giving me some hand pain. ;) I liked the audio and the graphics, which give the game a nice and joyful atmosphere. :)
Oh, and on a side note, I like how all your three games on this LDjam site alliterate with C's. ^^
I enjoyed playing your game! My strategy was to keep the mouse in the same position (above the text input box) and keep spamming the mouse button, so that I also selected the input box when necessary. ;) The game could benefit from autofocus on the input box. I got till 56 bits, but the number of bits required also always went up, so I am not sure if there is an end to this game. ;) I liked the start-sound, but the other sound was a bit too much to hear every time. Congrats on your game!
Very nice game! It feels very polished. I like the art and the music. It was a bit hard to find out what I should build to get a certain type of bunny, especially the 'fat bunny' took me quite a while to recognise. I didn't get how long the current quest would go on. Sometimes I had no money and simple had to wait for a quest that I could do. Or sometimes I was just clicking and clicking a bunny (dropping carrots in stead) to find ou that my quest had changed. So maybe some notification of that would be nice. :) I wasn't sure what the losing condition was, but in my best try I got 261. It seemed that if you would 'overtrain' a bunny in a specific area, that that was not good, I liked that, and it fits the theme. It's nice that the training facilities are randomizes each time that you play.
Nice game with a great mood. The letters in the tutorial were a bit hard to read. It was fun to play, I just tried to survive as long as possible. :)
Nice game! I enjoyed playing it. I once wanted to make a game with similar keyboard mechanics for a previous LD, I am glad to see that someone tried it! It was fun to play. The game ended quite suddenly after the level with all the keys. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to happen, so I played it again, but this time trying to hardly look at my keyboard, that was fun. :) Congrats!
very nice game! I enjoyed playing it. :) I like the graphics and the main character, the music was chill and the tutorial was clear. :)
Cute little game! It is very counter-intuitive to avoid the coins, that's really funny. ^^ The snake was a bit fast for me and I was surprised everytime that I couldn't jump on it to kill it. ;) If you want to go crouching under something, but you were already standing near the edge of something, you couldn't crouch. The coin sound has a little 'tap' in the end here. I enjoyed playing your game and got till the end! My record is with 4/10 wealth. :)
Cute little game, I enjoyed playing. It was nice that the shapes would shatter in several pieces. Because the background has a different color each time, the first time the text was hard to read. I didn't really get when and how many new shapes would appear. The score didn't seem to reset when I played again. Sometimes the bullets would change directions even before it would hit a wall. Also, in the beginning I needed 5 bullets to destroy a shape, and later only 2 or 1. I didn't get why. :)
Nice game! I had fun playing it. :) I would have liked feedback if I pressed the buttons correctly (it blinks very shortly but highlighted would be better), because many times I thought I clicked it but nothing happened. (Apparently the game is looking for a mouse-up event, and not a mouse-down event, which fooled me many times.) The game takes quite long, so after 400+ reviews and still having a 2 star rating, I gave up. I think if the game play was shorter, I would play again and try to beat my own score, but now there just didn't seem to be an end to it.
Well done!
Fun and addictive game! I think I've seen a similar game before, but still I greatly enjoyed playing it. It works very well with a controller. I like the audio and how it's layered depending on which subgames you are playing. Your game looks clean and finished, congrats!
The game looks very cute, but it was quite confusing. The truck seems to make a detour on its way back, leaving me waiting quite long, watching truck-blob(s) going around, which got boring quite quickly. I think the game would benefit from some more audio-visual feedback for the player: numbering the cities, showing the auto routes, showing when you can sell crates(/when a truck has returned). I agree with @glock00 that it would be nice to get the money on destination arrival (because I lost twice because the trucks returned just after the day ended). I always sold 10 crates, I didn't see a reason to sell only 5 crates.
It took me quite a while to figure out what the game was. There was very little time to escape a disappearing square. I guess it could be more fun with more people playing. :)

What a cute and clean game! While I was playing, I suddenly recognized the awesome art style, nice music and smooth tweening from Samurai Shaver from LD40. I got stuck on level 5, playing with mouse doesn't seem to be optimal...
I also playd the Post-Compo version. I really like all the changes and improvements that you made, well done! Especially the more detailed tutorial and visual clues are nice. I managed to finish this version of the game.
Nice game! I enjoyed the music (but I think I would enjoy it more without the constant high note). At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the boxes (I didn't yet know that you could combine them), and was wondering how I could pick them up. I didn't really like how I had to push the boxes around, and I missed the option to drive backwards. The magnet did wonders, maybe too much? I would have liked to see my score in the game over screen (I think it was 5k+). I delivered a lot of boxes, but almost all with the help of the magnet.
The post-jam version indeed improves the controls and the column-problem (although that problem made sure I could listen to the music!). I liked the music! I didn't like the gameplay that much. When playing, you don't really feel the looping around the disk, and it takes a while before the other colored blocks come in. I did like the change of music at that point! Suggestion: add restart-key so that I do not have to quickly change between mouse and keyboard (or give a little more safe space at the beginning of the level), and/or maybe make the two buttons that you have to press to restart at the same location?
That was fun! Very innovative. There was a lot happening, a bit overwhelming. Interesting that playing a card also gives the opponent more advanced cards. We played many times, and often the cars were hard to get rid off without houses. Perhaps some cards with new combinations? Or cards that just destroy resources, without giving stuff to the other player.
Well done!
Cool game! It was fun to play. It looks quite a bit like Kingdomino, but it is nice that are different shapes, and that you keep playing with tiles that are left. The rocks are annoying but are also a nice extra game element. You did a great job with the tutorial, music and all the juicing. My highscore: 3220.
Cute little game! I enjoyed playing it, it was over too soon. The graphics are nice. The controls/gravity could maybe be slightly improved in my opinion. Also, I would have liked to see my score in the last screen. When collecting a coin, it felt a bit weird to drag it along with the player for the rest of the level. Somehow the font and the colors in between levels make me happy.
Well done!
Nice game, I enjoyed the awesome music and the pretty graphics. First try I quickly stranded, with no building options left, and then I missed a reset button. I enjoyed placing the aquaducts on the planet. Sometimes I found the game too dark, it was hard to find the last wells. Finding a place for unwanted pieces was often hard, and during that I often got lost on my little planet. ;) I got till 10/12.
@senokos: Thank you for playing and your comments! You make many valid points that I will consider for a post-LD version.
The game is meant to be somewhat challenging (and a tiny bit frustrating, to fit the concept :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:). Did you discover the boost function and how shift/B can help?
I am myself also not sure about the changing of direction when you bump into another sphere. It does encourage you to avoid hitting other people. Did you try slowing down sometimes to avoid collision, and maybe even refill your energy meter?
@Galan: thank you! I noticed that without my external speakers, indeed the flute music is too intense and my laptop speakers can't handle it very well...
@Shakedimus: Thanks! I like how everyone creates their own scenario in their heads, that's exactly why I wanted to stick to these abstract blobs. I considered four-way controls, but it seemed too 'square' compared to all the round objects (and also with these 'tank controls' your blob behaves similar to the other blobs).
@RenD: Thank you! Indeed, sometimes you need to stop to catch your breath.
@MZA: Thanks. I don't have any particular plans yet, except making some changes in a post-jam version.
@niterich: Thank you for your detailed comments, you make many valid points. I will reconsider the bumping mechanic, more people seem to not like it. It's a nice idea to make the 'shout meter' flash!
Nice game! I enjoyed playing. It took me a try to see where I actually scored the 2 points that I got. I mainly just clicked whatever arrow was available, only a few times I planned ahead. I played a few times and steadily increased my score, till I got 13. I often waited as long as possible with the new bag, to move the other bags around. (Then sometimes I thought I was just in time, but the click wasn't registered?). Sometimes I wished that the bag would just automatically drop at the empty slot. ;)
Awesome game. I really like the idea of having 4 power cords but only 3 sockets. Nice background story (but I didn't like the way the text appears in the begin screen). The first few tries, day 2 was already too hard for me... I liked the upgrade system, wish I could have seen more of it, but it was a bit tedious to start at day 1 every time (and wait till my shift was over). When I discovered that unplugging the power cords saved me a lot of key pressing, I got till day 6. Those baby zombies go veeeery fast. "AAAAH, Where is my green cable?"
Well done!
With the help of the spoiler, I found the exit. I like the narrow vision. I didn't like the music.
I had a hard time controlling my penguin. It took me many tries to win from 10 enemies. But I enjoyed it more and more as I got used to it. It would have loved some more/louder sound effects with the sliding, whieeeh! It seemed that after winning, in the next game I wasn't able to move. I liked that I could play with my controller. Cute ukulele music. ^^
I liked playing around with the blocks, and how the game looks. I didn't fully know what I was doing, but I won once! ;) The beep was quite annnoying.
Nice entry! Congrats.
I enjoyed playing around with placing the buildings in the samll city. The first time I had quite a nice score already. ^^ The following attempt I was a bit shocked by the game-over sound. ;) I liked the build-up in the music (but it seemed to end early?). I like the 3D graphics with all the little details like airplanes and cars, the UI graphics could perhaps be altered a bit to fit the in-game graphics even better.
The way the resources are added/substracted every time unit is nice, but it feels a bit unnatural for the happiness aspect. Some hover-over information would be nice (for both the UI in the bottom and the buildings already built), as well as a visual clue about if and what you selected in the available buildings column on the left.
I played a couple of times, and usually got a score around 2000/90. I wonder what is the maximum score possible.
Well done!
Cool concept! It would be nice to have some score visible while you are playing. I never seemed to get a proper score (always not accurate?). A bit rough, but well done!
Like many people before me, it took me very long to figure out the controls. First challenge: getting out of the menu, it's very confusing that Enter gives the pause screen. After trying out most buttons on my keyboard, I found out that I needed Z/C and X. I understood when I died because of lack of resources, but other times I didn't understand why. Sometimes I didn't know why I couldn't go in a certain direction (but it did cost resources), maybe that was a bug. I guess that with some more explanation the game could be more fun. Maybe with a quantization or visual clue of 'once the pollution reaches a certain level you perish'? When walking over the red tiles, am I cleaning them up?
Wow, that is an interesting take on the theme! I didn't expect that I had to make room in this way. ;) I played a few times till I got the hang of it and scored 48. I liked how I could chase the alarmed guests to try to stop them. The hotel looks very nice with all the furniture and lights! I would have liked some more visual clue that I checked in a guest, it was a bit confusing in the beginning if my click actually did something. Also the disposal bins were a bit hard to find. I tried several tactics: having only a very few guest so that I could easily kill them and dispose them, or having a lot of guests and killing them in their rooms, and later cleaning them up. The door of the room up-stairs on the right seemed to be open and a corpse in that room unexpectedly alarmed other guests in the hall. I liked how the guests walked around the hotel. Very well done!
Nice little game! It took me a few moments to figure out the controls and the goal of the game. Quite innovative gameplay, but the game could use some more variation. Highscore: 126.
Cool puzzle game! Luckily I read the hint that the orientation of the pills matters, so the puzzles made sense. In the beginning, a level can be quite overwhelming, but it was fun to solve. I like the graphics, music and the sound effects. I would have liked up arrow for jumping.
In level 3, it would be nice if the horizontal green pill is a bit easier to avoid. In level 4 in the top left corner I would easily get kicked of the platform somehow.
(Double post)
Nice game! I enjoyed the different ground materials, that made me go fast, slow or unsteerable. Another thing that I liked was the 'door', chopping a part of my snake (I was hoping that the remains would disappear after a while). The snake moves nice and smooth. I played only single player and reached 212, and then I had to sneeze, closed my eyes and died. I think this could be quite fun with more players, and it certainly has potential! It would be nice to have different (maybe random?) levels.
Congrats on your first game! At first I was a bit frustrated how weak and slow the gun was. Then I found out that there are updates, nice feature! I thought that there were too many sharks too soon... ;)
Sometimes the player character was moving at the start of the level. I think I would like the player to turn around his head, in stead of around the gun.
Nice little game, congrats! At first it was hard, getting to know the rules of the game. The randomness of the bullet and the small space made it quite difficult. But when I got used to it, I enjoyed playing it. My best strategy was going around in circles (/rectangles), while dropping bombs. My high score was: 237.
Nice game! I enjoyed the concept, the looks and the puzzles. I was not a fan of the timer in the normal levels, especially in level 5 I was annoyed, because I wanted to keep puzzling. It seemed that the hover-over information of the gates was not correct (at least in the web build). I didn't like that I had to click the 'Wire mode' every time (especially when I misclicked something). Also after I put down a wire, I couldn't click the gates on the left immediately which confused me several times.
I think the game has a lot of potential, it just needs some small adjustments.
Nice little game. At first sight I was a bit sceptic, but the move and shoot mechanics are quite fun to play with, and then it got quite addicting to beat my own high score. I liked how the game punishes random shooting bullets around, since they come back around! I played for a few minutes and somehow got 316. :) Of course the game could use some polishing and sounds, but it's quite nice for the short time you had! I would be nice to be able to restart with the keyboard (so I don't have to move my cursor out of the way everytime) and to display the score while playing.
I won! Took me quite some tries. I am not a big fan of the controls; clicking the walls correctly seemed to be quite hard, and then I have to click the screen again to type. Congrats on your first game!
That was fun!
Reminds me a little of my own game. I enjoyed the music and how everyone is jumping around.
highscoreRoomy.png
Interesting, and quite overwhelming. I like the concept, but maybe the board is too big? On my second try I got 2924, and then it just became too much.
Congrats with your game, I enjoyed playing it! I played it a second and third time, trying different things. It has a nice and well-thought-out back-story. I would have liked to see why I was game over, and how many days I survived.
Nice work! I enjoyed skating around. Cool music!
Cute game! I didn't really find a good use for the claws. I flew quite far (10k+), but unfortunately I didn't see my score before I died, maybe you could display a highscore somewhere? I enjoyed the music and sound effects. Well done!
Nice game! The music, sound effects and colors really set the mood. The bats were a bit hard to see and also hard to kill. It took me a little while to figure out the mechanics, but then I enjoyed playing the game! Congrats :)
I won! :) Nice little game.
Great entry, good take on the theme! Like many people, it took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do. I found it a bit hard remembering how many hearts the different spikes take. I like the audio and the visual0 distortions. Well done!
Haha, awesome game! I enjoyed playing it, although it is quite overwhelming. ;) The pedestrians are nearly impossible to miss, so I quickly decided to ignore them. The fact that I not only had to steer the cars in the right lane to avoid collisions with sudden road blocks, but also ahd to try to keep them straight made it very hard (and funny). Although the cloud was over the vehicle, I still sometimes had trouble seeing which car I was controlling (especially with the three tiny motocycles, and it seemed that the truck doesn't have a green highlight). Because of the steering mechanic, the response of the car was always a bit slower than I wanted, which also contributed to confusing wheter or not I was in control of a car.
Great choice of music, it really does a great job with the mood. I enjoyed the graphics and especially the facial expressions of your Jesus figure. My high score is 35.13 Miles
Congrats with your game!
I think I won? :) (It seems to always display "You ascended") It seemed that my lightning indicator was empty, but I could always keep shooting lightning, but on the other hand after a while my fire didn't work anymore, although the fire indicator seemed full. The graphics are quite nice! But it's hard to see were I could walk.
Well done!
Great game! And wow, so much nice music! It really adds to the dark mood, and especially in the boss level it made me nervous and anxious of what would come. There were some points were you could get stuck (not enough friends around), without a restart(/kill yourself) option. Once I got stuck in the ground of the boss level. I liked the falling rocks, they keep you moving aruond! Well done :smile_cat:
Nice game! I like the graphics and sounds. I'm not a big fan of the game mechanics in it's current form, but still I enjoyed playing around with it, and I think it has potential to grow. I kept my left mouse button always pressed, so perhaps you could make it automatic (is there ever a moment that you don't want to use the resources?). The scoring mechanism is unclear, so it's hard to tell what I am optimizing. Overall, very nice and polished entry!
I finished the game! It didn't really feel like I had to make any sacrifices though. That is (even though I played v1.1), it still never felt advantageous to me to kill my own soldiers; they already died of their own accord ;). Anyway, thanks for the nice game and icecream. Oh, by the way, nice music! Well done :)
Great entry! I enjoyed playing - mainly for the story, the gameplay was not that challenging. Great introduction, good music and fun storyline. Well done!
Nice game! I like the graphics, especially the birds flying around! I think that the obstacles could be a bit more visible. The end came quite sudden. It felt like there was a delay in jumping, which annoyed me in the beginning, but I guess that's because holding the left mouse button longer has a different function - speeding up the sheep - and you need to decide if the mouse button was hold short or long. It felt better with the right mouse button. I never used the slow down part, because I slowed down when I bumped into things. ;) I enjoyed the music!
Well done!
Awesome! Very innovative. I enjoyed playing it
Surprisinlgy addictive! The bunny sometimes slid off of the platform, while other times it seemed to hang in mid-air; I wasn't sure whether that's intended or not. Maybe it's an idea to let the camera follow the player a bit faster, as it feels natural to be at (or near) the bottom of the screen so there's time to react to what's up ahead. Finally, to make it even more addictive, maybe a high score could have been nice (unless there's a win condition I just missed). Overall, very well done!
Congrats on making this nice game in one weekend! Nice graphics, story and cut scenes.
I enjoyed playing it, but sometimes I got stuck. I once got myself stuck under an elevator. In the tutorial level (very good that you have one!), I got stuck at the first lever for way too long, since I assumed up&down (W&S) would move the elevator... I should read more carefully. :stuck_out_tongue: It would have been nice to have some visual feedback that you are holding the lever. Also, somehow I didn't get that I had to hold E in order to mine (in stead of pressing E many times shortly), so that took a while as well.
It's a cool mix of adventure and puzzling. Very well done!
Awesome game! Addictive. :) The game runs smoothly, and I like the flashy but clean graphics. My highscore is 5.31, at the moment. ;)
I wasn't really aware of how much momey I still had while playing, so sometimes I was waiting to respawn, but that never happened because apparently I ran out of money without noticing. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: A new level/wave was mainly hard at the beginning, finding a way to escape.
Awesome game! I like the graphics, with the chest going from cute  to angry . I love the music. Some more variations in the sound effects would have been nice.
Good that you added a tutorial. On my first play, one enemy got stuck outside the octogonal playfield.
I often lost my cursor in the heat of the moment, so maybe a bigger and brighter cursor would help. I think it would be fun to play on a touch device!
I didn't use WASD that much. I found it funny to notice that I could move myself faster by pushing myself with an enemy in my tongue than that I could walk. The tongue was sometimes a bit slow, or maybe I was too impatient too move on to the next enemy. I enjoyed playing bowling with the enemies. :bowling:
Somehow I managed to got to the final wave after a few tries, but didn't survive that wave. In the gameover screen it would be nice to see how far I got (possibly with some other fun statistics).
Congrats
@Ryano @sillyman987 Thanks!
@firellon Well done! :)
@thesunshineraven How far did you get? After play-testing all weekend long, I forgot that it's probably quite challenging for new players. ;) A global highscore table would indeed be very nice, I still have to learn how to do that...
@banzi Thank you! Indeed, when you collect a coin, you lose some altitude. That's the price you pay, it's a trade-off. ;) If you're too greedy, you've got a problem! Did you notice the platforms on the side?
@pedro137br Thanks! Can you specify what felt weird about the controls? (Did you notice that the direction of your jump depends on your position on a coin?)
@peachtreeoath Thank you for your nice and detailed comment! :pig:
@d5r Thank you! Just keep on walking till you are at the right angle on the coin to make the jump.
@edevjogos Thanks! I can imagine the confusion. Maybe down arrow would also be nice for picking up coins. Maybe I can add a 'select your controls' option in the Post-compo version.
@jsec Thanks for your comment! What kind of strange movements, could you elaborate?
@jeremy-ryan Wow, nice score! :raised_hands: Thanks for your comments. Looping the music - I thought it worked, I should look into it again... Aha, it seems to work the first time you play, but not after you retry. Hmmmm...
@rjhelms Thanks! That is a pretty neat score, well done!
@jsec Thanks for your explanation! I didn't notice it myself before. If you're still holding the Left key while pressing Right, then indeed you don't change direction, because the netto result is that your horizontal velocity goes to zero (since you're going both left *and* right). This makes sense to me, but perhaps you prefer to go into the direction you pressed last? Something to think about for the post-compo version, thanks. :)
@almost Thanks for playing and for your comments. You should be able to see your highscore at the start screen or whenever you are gameover. At the moment, the different coin sorts give a different amount of money/health, but the size of the coin doesn't matter (yet).
Awesome game! Well executed. Congrats!
Nice meta idea. I played many times, and completed a game twice, but I didn't really know how I did it. I didn't understand the mechanics behind the buttons or the progress bar. Is it about the ratio between work and life hours? Is it a realtime thing, or can you just enter two numbers and wait for it to finish the game?
Why does the time bar start half way? I didn't find a way to fill it up.
After I allocated 48 hours, and unassigned some hours, the assign hours buttons didn't work anymore.
I like the art. :)
Short but sweet! Great mood. I really like the background story and how the text is displayed and the variation in beeps that go along with it (which makes it sound like talking). I also enjoyed the other sound effects, the different cool musics and the graphics, especially in the cubicle scene.
I wanted to play more levels, but since they were not there I restarted the game. Then I found the intro was a bit too long and I missed an option to skip the text. :P
It was very much fun to destroy stuff. I wasn't sure how the throw mechanics exactly worked, it was a bit hard to aim. Nevertheless, it was easy to win by just smashing my keys. ;)
Overall, awesome game!
Nice game! I liked the graphics and the idea of the hammer chasing the piggy bank. As others said, I seemed to be able to play forever, as long as I didn't collect too many coins. Getting stuck also didn't prove to be that much of a problem, the hammer didn't catch up very fast. When I finally decided to give up, I expected a little bit more of the hammer smashing the piggy bank. ;)
The music was repetitive, but that didn't bother me too much. I liked how the jump/fall sound and the music sounded together.
When I clicked the Controls button on the right, I was a bit surprised and thought for a moment that it was a 2-player game (that someone would have to move the hammer).
Overall, well done! :pig:
Awesome game! I love the music and how the game looks.
I really like the curves! I wonder how you make/generate them.
I was a bit confused by the rules in the beginning, because some of the coin traps look like positive things to me.
Some of the coin taps were unavoidable, for example if all the curves intersected exactly at the point of a coin trap. Also, if a curve has a positive slope, jumping on that curve didn't have much effect. I am not so sure how you could remedy that though.
Because of the steepness of some of the curves, and because of the constant horizontal velocity, the player sometimes went superfast (vertically). Because the camera is following the player, I was sometimes surprised by incoming coin trap when I was on steep curves.
It was satisfying to collect the coins. After a while I remembered that the left and right arrow could also be used. I tried to use this to my advantage, but the game is too fast for me to really do smart things with that. It is not really clear how/when coins are combined, only when they are next to each other? And you always lose the left-most one when you pick up a 6th coin? Also, there are so many different coins, that it can be quite hard to tell them apart, especially with this speed as well as their rotation speed.
Perhaps it would be nice to visually show which curve the player is on, by highlighting this curve.
Overall, very good job! Congrats!
Wow, that was frantic. The music adds to this frantic mood, although it's quite repetitive. Everything seemed to work well. I like how the timers on the enemies work, very clever.
I enjoyed playing, and played several times. I was not very good at it, and only got till stage 8. After a while, my arms hurt too much to play again all the way from the start.
I sometimes had the problem of running into enemies and osbtacles in a new level, losing much time at the start of a level.
Congrats on your first (game jam) game!
Cute little game!
It's good that you added some explanation in the beginning, but I was a bit annoyed that I had to click "Skip Intro" every time I tried again (I tried many times, but I wasn't very good at it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:). I found it really hard, and I don't think I even got half way...
In my experience, the enemies were too fast, and with too many. I couldn't really handle more than one at a time since I couldn't move or shoot fast enough, and often I encountered 5 or more enemies at once. I think I would have liked it better if the movement would have been with keyboard and the shooting with the mouse, because sometimes I wanted to walk in a different direction than that I wanted to shoot.
The graphics are ok, but they all seem to be different styles. Did you make them yourself?
Overall, well done. :)
That was an experience! Awesome art. I enjoyed finding many different endings.
The menu was funny, but also confusing. I spent quite some time in the menus before playing the actual game. ;)
Congrats on finishing a game in 2 days! Nice graphics.
I had troubles finding out how to attack enemies. It didn't seem consistent. I ended up avoiding enemies by zigzagging through the desert. I found 2 hearts and then traded blood for a new weapon (though I didn't see my blood level go down). It appeared that the enemies didn't move anymore after that? The space was too big, and I gave up after my third heart.
Interesting game. I enjoyed looking at the real or fake bills, exploring the different artwork. After a while though, this job got quite repetitive, and I started spamming the buttons, since there was no penalty for chosing the wrong option.
The prices of the different bills seemed too random, sometimes a H5 was more expensive than a H100 bill. I completed my collection, and expected some kind of winning condition.
Congrats on your game!
Well, that was the funniest entry I played so far! I liked the audio. I would have liked a restart option, to skip the intro (although it was very funny) on replay.
In the HTML5 game in Chrome the adventureers climbed the raised floor, but not in later levels, which made it way too easy. So I started walking around to challenge myself. :) I only used the shooting mechanism, since I lost too much health using the basic attack. Also, since I can only attack in the direction that I am walking, this is of very little use while running away from the adventurers, I found.
Well done!
Interesting mechanic! I like the idea that you add bricks, but to what purpose was not very clear to me. The game got stuck often, especially when I created a brick when to ball was near one of the walls, which got a bit frustrating, so I stopped after restarting a dozen of times, but I am interested to see what this could become!
Oh, and I noticed that the game got slower after each exit and restart. It seems the game is still running in the abckground after a crash & closing.
Great scores for a great game, congrats! I enjoyed playing it. :smile_cat:
Nice innovative puzzle game! It took some time to figure out how it worked, but I enjoyed that process as welll. :) Sometimes the text disappeared too quickly for my taste. I really liked the mechanics of the move/pick-up trade-off and also the movements of the enemies/do-gooders. This made the puzzles really interesting. I would have loved more levels!
Cute game! I enjoyed walking around and placing stuff, and watching what other people made. As others already mentioned, it would have been nice to be able to turn the camera or zoom out. I think the next.
Oooh I saw stuff appearing! That means someone else is playing as well! I found the edge of the map, walked off, and couldn't walk on again.
I am curious what the next item will be!
Well done!
That was fun! And surprisingly addictive, I wish there was more to explore. I like how the raft is bobbing around.
It took me a while to figure out how the nets worked (I couldn't see when it was filled with a fish), but then they turned out to be quite useful in supplying more wood as long as I kept clearing them out of fish.
Very nice touch to let the radio control the cool music.
I like the graphics as well! But I did notice that some sprites were drawn on top of sprites that you expected to be more in the foreground (for example the bags). Also the player figure sometimes seemed to swim on top of the raft, because his feet seem to decide if you are swimming or walking, but in the swimming animation the feet are invisible under water. (And in the swimming the player will expect the shoulder area to be deciding.) scrshotLDBob2.png
Since the game doesn't seem to have a clear end (actually for a while I was wondering if I could really find a mermaid...), at some point I decided to stop.
scrshotLDBob.png
Nice entry! It's surprisingly addictive, while also frustrating. I like the curves and the mechanics of the different enemies, and how the cake slides back when you are not pressing space, which was both useful and sometimes annoying. I also enjoyed the music and the "ouch"-effects. Sometimes it was a bit of a waiting game to wait for a moment where the different enemies would all be positioned favorably. On the other hand, there was so much going on, so many enemies to avoid! To help the player determine the direction of the enemies, perhaps you could rotate the their sprites in the direction that they are going, and perhaps you could give them a trail of particles to visualize what kind of curve they followed. I like the glow of the lines in the postjam version. I got stuck in the level that starts with a diagonal line going up to the left side of the screen. Oh, i just passed that level, finally! But I still gave up after that.
Overall, well done!
Nice game! At first I didn't find the way to feed the fish... (I just assumed it was another tiny fish, didn't look at properly) and then he started looking angry at me, haha! I enjoyed playing! I had so many fish generating money, that I could not keep up by clicking for food! I liked how the fish all rushed towards the new food when I added some, but often they all got stuck at the top, and because of all the collision detection it got somewhat slow after a while.
scrshotZenfish.png
It could use some variation in sound effects.
Overall, well done! I enjoyed playing!
Cool and very original game! I managed to win my first game, and I think it was around day 15. (Perhaps you could show the day of winning in the end screen?) The second game I won in day 11, and on the third try on day 7. I enjoyed playing the game.
At first I didn't get which rats and storms I was trying to get rid off, they just didn't seem to disappear on the left. But at some point I got the idea! Comparing the slots with the overview on the right and with the goals was a bit tedious, counting how many moves I would need to reach a certain goal. Perhaps hovering over a person's slot could highlight the corresponding slot on the right? The background is nice, it's a pity it's hidden behind the goals.
Well done!
Interesting and innovative concept! I like the audio and the blocks with letters. I played a few levels, are they fixed or are they generated?
@peachtreeoath Thank you for your lovely comments, you're too kind! About Orisinal: I remember a friend showing me some of these cute games from Orisinal a year ago, (but I forgot the name, thanks!), perhaps unconsciously I was inspired by them.
@mikethehuman @artyom-volkov @torami @picapica: Thank you! It might help to keep the leaf/mouse a bit further from the ball. And did you find out that you can hold the left mouse button down? That might make it easier.
@mgoadric: Thanks! That was exactly what we wanted, for the player to fool around with the ball until you find out that you can move the ball upwards.
@cafelovai, @palinalif, @maaya, @florian-oster: Thanks for playing and for your comment!
@baski @picapica: Haha I'm sorry!
@kuviman: Nice to hear that you came that far! And indeed, those levels are moving slightly up, to give you some time pressure.
@asue @avzgui: thanks for playing and for your comment!
@ongomato: Thank you! That particular level is indeed quite hard! Congrats on beating the game.
Nice little game! I didn't realize I was "helping out and getting the resident ready for work" until I read the description afterwards. It's quite cute actually!
Interesting game! I like how the different actions were introduced, and I also liked hat you could change the color scheme while waiting. I also liked that there was an automatic fallback to another task if one task was not possible anymore. The different tasks seemed quite balanced.
I like the idea behind trading gold for prestige, but starting all over again felt quite repetitive. Buying a higher level basically makes you almost start from nothing again, which fits the theme, but feels quite punishing. After a while I made sure to have some spare gold left before buying prestige, so that I could start up somewhat faster. I wonder how many levels you implemented, it was a bit too much of a waiting game (but apparantly that's a genre!) for me to want to find out.
Well done! I've played this game way longer than I intended to.
scrshotPotato.png
Wow, original game! The music, sounds and graphics are all very nice. Nice touch to quit or start the game by moving the block. But because of that, I didn't notice in the first level that I couldn't move, since it was all happening quite fast.
Some levels felt quite similar to me (climbing with one or two movable blocks). In some levels, after dying I kept respawning till finally the diagonally moving block had returned, which makes the game feel less polished.
The exit/portal was sometimes so strong that it moves the path of the player but not strong enough to let you win the level, resulting in a near-finish death. Also, if you are standing near the goal, but just not close enough, the sound effects are quite strong and repetitive :
scrshotFreeWill.png
It was a bit unclear how to place the new blocks in the beginning. Perhaps the button in the bottom could be more visible (or maybe blinking the first time?). I would have loved (the option) to use the up arrow key or W key to jump in stead of space bar to jump, since my left hand had to do all the moving around and my right hand was operating the mouse. The camera movement is cool, but it makes clicking and placing blocks way too hard. Also, if you die, one of your blocks might be out of sight, so you suddenly have to play with one block. Only when I got to the level with the two lasers I noticed the restart button, because I was stuck - my blocks couldn't move anymore after they touched the laser (to my surprise). In that same level, I could place the blocks quite low, but the player wouldn't survive the fall (nor could I pick up those blocks anymore:
scrshotFreeWill2.png
In the end I took a big detour in the last level, around the lower laser and made it till the end!
All in all, congrats with a very solid entry!
Cool! I enjoyed playing around with it. It fits the theme. :) On my laptop in Firefox, it takes a while for the game to begin after the loading bar is finished, so I was unsure if it would work, but it did! I noticed that the behavior depends on the shape you drew, I wonder how you determine if it is a snake, line, square or triangle or dot.
Well done!
--- Ooh, I played the polished version, and I like what you did there! I like the visual feedback to the sounds, and the new line style, the longer lines, and the drops behind the snakes. i did notice that if I draw a closed shape and move the cursor away while releasing the mouse button, that it formed quite often a dot in stead of a circle...
Interesting and cute puzzle platformer! Very creative. I liked the cute graphics, all the different backgrounds, the music and cool sound effects!
I struggled so long to get the orange icing in the level where the button is right below a block (I didn't expect you could still pick up the icing that late!), that whenI finally managed, I totally forgot about the right order of colors and showed up with the wrong toppings. Feels like proudly showing up at a party with the wrong type of costume on.
The movement could use some work, at least in the webGL version. I didn't like that the jump had a fixed height, and also it felt a bit weird that the falling was slowed down.
Overall, good job!
I came here after reading your Post-Mortem. I like the building mechanic of the game! And the music as well. It took me a while to figure out that the different blocks could be placed in different ways, but after I found the text explanation, I quickly noticed that I could slowly climb up with just three blocks (at least one grey) or with two purple blocks. I reached the heighest cloud in that way, but not nearly with enough money. After that I finally explored a little but deeper and found the wood, which was very nice to create stairs. :) Nice entry, I enjoyed playing it! With some more work, you could turn it into a nice Post-Compo game! :)
Impressive, these different enemies! I enjoyed playing, and also the music & voice. :) I finished the game  The controls could use some polish, in my opinion. :) I didn't notice the double-jump in the first level. I wish the restart was without the intro (then I noticed that the 'Continue' button is every time on a different spot).
Whoah what a game! My wrist hurts from the bosslevel, but I made it! The player character reminds me of Rayman ^^ The wall walking and the sling mechanic are cool, but the latter could use some polish. I wish there was an arrowhead connected to the black line to indicate the direction, and it would be nice if the reference of the black line was not the player's head but the body. The part before the boss was really hard, it could use a little bit more build up, to learn about the importance of timing & direction of the slings. I didn't understand why sometimes my player's character would suddenly walk very fast on the wall after a wall jump.
I liked that the boss level felt like almost a new game. Impressive.
I really like the backgrounds and the audio! The music of the platforming level was somehwat too repetitive for my taste, and didn't completely fit the hectic jumping around. I really enjoyed the music in the boss level.
At the beginning of the game, when the player is still without limbs, switching between going to left and right sometimes results in an unexpected behaviour of the rotation of the sprite. Furthermore, when standing on an edge and jumping would sometimes result in sliding off the edge after landing, while I expected to just come in a standing position again.
scrshotSlinger.png
Congrats on your fantastic game!
Nice little game!
I like the graphics, but the UI/text could use some polish.
It looks like there is white text on the bottom of the start screen, but if so, I couldn't read it I played a few times, and it seemed the game got slower and slower.
I don't like using spacebar to jump, I would rather use the W key. I didn't use the look up or look down option.
I got till 348, I never reached 500... I liked the intro, the falling down. While falling down, it seems that you have 5 hearts, but when you get into the level, one disappears! :slight_frown: Also, I got armor at some point, but I didn't feel like it protected me from anything.
I was a bit confused by the attack mechanism, since the club/sword was moving quite slow, and I didn't see when I had a proper impact on a slimey creature. Some (audio)visual feedback that I hit one would have been nice. I liked how the slimes jumped around, that made it quite hard actually!
The collision detection could use some polish as well, the player character could stand on edges/corners in a surprising way:
scrshotSlimeSlayer2.png
That was fun!
I really liked your game! Graphics are very clean. :) I got 3 throphees in the end, but I am not entirely sure how I got them. ;) Addictive!
- Edit: I got back to this game, and now I see much clearer what the underlying rules are. Very neat! Still didn't beat the game though... ;)
"Oh dear, this is not my type of game", I thought, and I was very proud of surviving 120 seconds after a few tries! Then I started to enjoy it more and more, and it's quite addictive! Would indeed be fun as a multiplayer game. The game runs really smooth with a controller, and the graphics, animations, splatters and screen shakes are very nice! I would love to see my score/time after game over, but I guess that's already implemented in the postJam version. It's a pity you see a lot of black outside the playing field, would be nice if the camera would stay inside the field. In the end I survived almost 3 minutes. I would have liked to hear the background music a bit more over the sound effects.
Great entry, well done!
Very nice game! I enjoyed playing it, it ended too soon! I like the mouse controls, it feels really smooth. Congrats
Nice puzzle game! At first I was confused, since the game didn't fit my screen (but on my regular laptop screen it was fine). I enjoyed the music and the marvelous backgrounds! It was a pity that after a while the platforms were all grey. I thought that some levels were too trivial, I could just look at one robot part and ignore the other one that was just walking and jumping against a wall. (Or maybe I found a way to avoid the intended puzzle by looking at the other robot part?) Overall, very good job! Congrats
Nice entry! I enjoyed playing and got to a score of 10667 . I noticed that the displayed high score was not my overall high score, but just my score + 534.
The music made a bit nervous, but after a while I was listening more to the slow melody than the frantic rhythm. I noticed that I frequently changed color on the rhythm of that slow melody, so I thought that maybe in a next version of the game it could be nice if the player generates the melody by letting each color that you switch to (or land on) correspond to a note?
At first, I had a hard time matching the color of the platforms with the example colors on top of the screen, because they are not the same! As many people mentioned, it was quite hard to manage 7 colors with one hand. It is interesting how hard the game is in the beginning, but that quite soon I got used to what number represents to what color, but then I still needed to find the right key! At first I had to look at my fingers a lot, but after a while I developed a strategy: leaving my little pinky finger on the 1, and only move my index finger around for 4,5,6,7.
I found it quite funny that there is a pause button, but with my fingers so busy, I really can't grab the mouse to click that! (But actually, I never wanted to pause! )
At some point I got so high that the background ended.
It felt a bit mean to let the left wall always immediately catch up with me all the time, I couldn't escape it! But I guess that was the purpose. It could have been position a little bit more to the left though.
I found that the screen shake was a bit much for every color switch.
The rainbow and clock were a nice touch, but it would have been nice to have some visual feedback of when time was almost up, maybe by blinking? So I ended up ignoring these special items, because I couldn't trust them, and there was not really a way to really get ahead of the left wall.
I found the game over sound effect quite funny, it sounds like a frustrated sigh I could make when I fail yet again. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Overall, nice job!
That was an interesting experienc! Although I am not too sure what happened. Nice audio and very creative with words.
Nice game with cute guitar music and cute graphics! I liked the different shells, especially the one with the balloons. :balloon: In the beginning, I was able to go around the big boulder which was a bit confusing for the story. (I somehow missed the hole, I think I spent most time finding the hole... :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)
A minor detail: when I was replaying the game, I noticed that the keys from last play were still there (but didn't work).
Good work, congats!
Cute game! I like the audio, the graphics and the gameplay, although I didn't quite understand why I couldn't be too greedy, or when I exactly was being too greedy. I liked that there are so many interesting items! After a while I learned the price of some items and I got to the moon!
A very minor detail: I noticed that the player character is drawn on top of the foreground leafs (which you only see if you walk to one of the sides). Also, after winning, if you give up to give it another go, the nice music is very soft!
Congrats on your first LD entry! The music is really cool, already in the menu I was lingering around to hear some more of the music, and then in game I got all pumped up. The sound effects are also nice. The graphics are quite nice, but could perhaps be a little bit more cohesive (the style in the start screen, intro and game are quite different).
The game screen was a tiny bit too big for my screen, so I was unsure if I was missing information at the bottom, because I didn't seem to be able to interact with the red jelly bean at first. (I tried for a while, until I realized it was an extra life and that I was still full of life :stuck_out_tongue: ).
The game is quite unforgiving, so it was a pity there didn't seem to be an option to restart the game or the level, other than restarting the application (and going through the intro and the first rooms/levels again). I got till the first exit and some rooms after that, but the red ones moved way to fast for me to see where I could hide or how to shoot them, and I didn't really feel like starting all over again. In the end I did start over again to have another look at the graphics and the audio for giving a rating, and then I got till level 3 (without the second flavor!). It does get easier when you know how the enemies move (and that they don't move till you're close enough). I was curious whatthe yellow bean would do, I killed it and thought "oh it doesn't do anything", and then it surprised me with some bullets. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Maybe I missed a trick or needed the flame thrower to burn something down, but I couldn't reach the bean here: scrshotDefective.png
Quite mesmerizing! I enjoyed the experience a lot. I found it surprisingly hard to follow the rhythm of the circles, sometimes they seemed to be slightly out of sync with the rhythm of the music. (The second time I played it felt way easier.) I really liked the visuals! The visual feedback was very nice when pressing a button at the right moment, but the corresponding sound I liked less. I enjoyed the musical build up. I also liked that there is no way to fail/die, when you miss a beat you just take 1 step back, and then you can continue again.
Very well done!
Very cool. I like how much content you created. Congrats!
Awesome game! :two_hearts:
I love the art style (although I only later realised it was different in every level, apparently the four seasons!). I also really enjoyed all the different musics and the funny voice acting when the burglars were tiptoeing closer.
In the beginning I was a bit surprised that the meowmies would defend the birdie, but I love the slingshot mechanics which seem to go quite well with the meowmies!
Very well polished game, congrats!
Nice game, I enjoyed playing it! I like the cute isometric pixel art and I enjoyed how the flowers go with the beat of the nice music at the start.
I found that it was not that easy to pick the red flowers (papaver? :rose:), firstly since the sheep is in control of the camera, and secondly because I wanted to click on the flower head in stead of the square. Maybe it would be nice to visually help the players by highlighting the square that your cursor is on.
I would like to play it on a touch screen! But till then, my highscore:
Naamloos.png
Nice game! The graphics are nice, and I just put on some Philip Glass music in the background. :)
At the start, I wanted to rotate the tiles, and match up the tiles like carcassonne (field to field, etc), but apparently, most tiles fit anywhere, except for train rails. Speaking of which, I was very confused by how the tiles with train rails are changing form all the time.
The selection tool to select trees/fields/villages was useful.
I played for quite a while, but after a while the goals became somewhat repetitive. (I forced an end with 203 points).
I am curious to see how the game will develop. Well done!
Nice game! I like the graphics and the cool music.
But hard, pfew! I would like some audiovisual feedback to tell me whether I pressed the key at the right time. It also took me a while to understand that the 5 pictograms show the health score of each component. The first few plays, it was a surprise why it died and what the scores shown in the end meant.
Cool that you made 5 minigames into one game. For me, the soaking up of the blood was an impossible game, but the other minigames were playable.
Well done!
Nice point and click game! I enjoyed the art style and the story, and the nice choice of music. I finished the game after a few tries. Although I like that I could do things wrong and start over, it was a bit annoying to click through all the texts again. OVerall, well done!
Cool game! We had a similar idea, it seems. I found it quite hard to jump over the holes with the balloon. I came very near the end of level 3, but since the game play is rather slow and the level quite long, I gave up after some tries. Congrats with your game!
Awesome game, with cool mechanics! The controls were not very intuitive for me (I would have liked W for jumping and space for gliding), but I got somehat used to it after a while. ;) I like the art style, the lighting and the music! Congrats :)
@huvaakoodia Thanks for playing and for your comment! The star *does* shake under the ball, but maybe that should start sooner, and could be clearer.
@peachtreeoath Thanks for your comment! The levels were squeezed out quite late (I just fooled around with juggling the ball for 2,5 days), so I am happy that you liked them. The metaphor is indeed not that strong, but I had the feeling I had to write something. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
@dining-philosopher @kazuo256 @somniac @jasonsumm1: Thanks for your comments! I agree that the collision with the obstacles is quite unforgiving. Perhaps I can slow down the player and play a bit more with the camera to make it easier to see the obstacles ahead.
@kris-casimir: Thanks! Hmm yes, maybe touching an obstacle could shrink the ball, in stead of a instant death.
@pocarinnu: Thanks for playing and your nice comment! With M you can mute the audio, maybe you pressed it while figuring out the game mechanics. The game doesn't give visual feedback (yet) on whether the audio is muted, I'll add that to my to do list.
Nice mechanics! It took me a while to figure out what I could do with the spade and the holes. I would have liked a restart buttong or key, and also I wanted to fast forward when I was out of cash ;) Congrats with your game. :)
scrshotBoilingPlanet.JPG
Very nice game! I like the relaxing music and I also enjoyed the nice clipping sound. It is very satisfying to see it grow, and to scroll back to see the beautiful shape it created. I wasn't sure how the branche growing exactly worked, but I managed to let it grow and grow and grow. :) I thought the game was a bit too long. The different colors of the leafs are very beautiful together. Congrats!
Cute little game! I also had to read the comment about the trampolines in order to finish the level. Interesting mechanics, it has potential for more!
I enjoyed playing your game. Maybe it is slightly too easy, as I also won the first time playing, while the flower had no damage. I like that you had an in-game tutorial and how there was a little story told with pictures (and the twist at the end!). Well done!
Wow, what a polished game! The music is phenomenal and does a lot for the mood. Nice voice acting as well. :) The art is very nice, although I was surprised about the combination of a smooth futuristic girl with the retro tablet.
I found that the decyphering part of the clues by clicking on the buttons was not that much fun to me, but perhaps that was intentional, so that the player tries to solve it with a smaller number of clues. But sometimes I only still needed a clue with a date and finding one could take quite long (or I missed something). ;) I did figure out that for certain types of code I needed a particular color to decode it, which made it a bit faster.
Very clever that the puzzels have ids so that players can puzzle together. Overall, great job!
Wow, really cool those split screens!
However, I didn't really understand what I could do. After a few tries a finally found the kitchen where I could get food. When Mr. Schroedinger got hold of a cat, I wanted to do something about it, but it seemed like nothing worked. Also, I could not see what the differences (or similarities) were between the two splits. Was there a cat alife in one section and not in the other?
I enjoyed the cat sounds! I survived for 3 minutes 45 seconds on my last try.
Interesting and moody game! I liked the art style. It was a pity the music suddenly stopped after a while. I found that the big font was a bit hard to read, and on some occasions it appeared a bit too slow for my taste. I enjoyed playing it, and it reminds me to turn off the autopilot and think about what is important for me. Thank you for the game!
Cute game with lovely graphics! Nice choice of music and friendly font. I enjoyed playing it, and that I could use my controller. :) I quite enjoyed the summoning of the clouds (and how the clouds turn darker), and I liked that it looks as if the cacti are doing the same, with their arms up all the time. :cactus: During playing I didn't really have an indication of how far I was in the game. When I won after a a couple of tries, the end came as a surprise.
@civmaniac: Ah ok, it would be nice to have some visual feedback to see my progress in the game, to get a sense of how I am doing and how close I am to winning.
Also, I really like the animations of the cacti!
Haha, I enjoyed your voice acting. "Nooooohh, balloony!"
Nice game, I enjoyed playing, it is quite addictive! Still I only got till 47, so far. I think it would be nice to show the highscore of the player in the end screen. I would have liked an easier restart option, one that doesn't require a mouse.
Also, it seems we had a similar idea. :)
@1punnyguy44: I do see the current score at the end of the game, but not my overall highscore.
I tried many times, and I think I finished the game, although I still don't fully understand her movements. I think it's quite an interesting mechanic that you have to keep her close to heal her, but not too close. The graphics are quite nice. I think you could develop it further into a bigger game. Congrats
Awesome! I love the sound-attracts-things mechanic. Congrats ^^
Nice little game! I enjoyed playing, although I was not very good at it  I like the audio and the graphics ( but I was a but surprised by the square explosions). Well done!
Cool one button game! :) I enjoyed playing, and also I like the funny audio and the graphics, even though the art style is not very cohesive. Because the enemies don't reset when the player dies, some levels get harder or just different (and sometimes impossible) to win on the next try, for example the first level with the nuts. I would have like more control over the jump height, but it is also funny that as a player we have so little control. ;)
Nice and addictive game! I enjoyed playing all the levels, and then played them again, trying to beat my own scores as well as the scores of others. I like that you can't die in a level, you can just keep on playing, and try to improve on your next attempt. I like the sound effects when getting a ring or completing the level, I also enjoyed the changing background and the smooth end of a level. The prediction of where the plane is going is very useful. Well done!
As it turns out, we had similar ideas for our games, it's fun to see how different they turned out to be!
Oh boy, that was suprisingly scary. Every time! I was pleasantly surprised how the theme suddenly came in, I forgot all about it when I started playing. I got stuck for quite a while because I forgot about shift again. (And once the game really got stuck, I couldn't come back from a table, so I restarted), but I found the end eventually! I wonder how it will continue, I guess I need some closure. Graphics and the sounds are great, wonderful job!
It might not be finished, but I really enjoyed the mood! The graphics are cool and I really dig the wonderful music, it fits really well with riding on spooky rails π Cool game mechanic as well, I'd like to see where you can take it from here. Interesting way of going through the levels! I found the end, but hit many axes on my way. ;)
Interesting game! The floating graphics are very cool, as well as the tunes. I enjoyed the adventure and the conversations. I liked how the dice animations looks, but since I didn't have any influence on the dice or where I would go, it got a bit repetitive and too long (10+ seconds?). Especially when visiting empty spots again and again... Also, I was confused for a while which pawn represented me, and who would be the other one and I didn't have a good idea what the different spots on the circle/board meant. Maybe I missed that in the story. :) I found two different endings  Although I am curious what other endings there might be, I felt the gameplay was too long to play it again. Awesome job!
Very original take on the theme, and not an easy game. I was so confused by the Buster Dunk, because I kept trying it while standing at the same position as my enemy. :face_palm: But I got the hang of it and finished some 4-moves levels. It helped me to say out loud which number I needed to press ;) The graphics are very clean. I think some sound effects could be very satisfying with this game! Great job :)
Great entry! I really like the concept. I got stuck in the screen room for a long time, but finally managed to figure it out. Then I got again stuck for very long in the next room, because I was so confused by the play and pause buttons... Then I thought, maybe I have to think in a similar way as in the previous room, and that worked. And then suddenly the game was over, I won! :confetti_ball: I enjoyed playing with the sandbox mode for a while. Nice visuals and sounds. :)
scrshot.png
That was a nice and surprising take on the theme! I enjoyed the music, the sound effects and the cute graphics & animations. The collision detection was a bit funny. I really enjoyed my moment of 'Aha! That's what these crates are for!'. I was a bit confused at first whether I needed all the golden wheels, but apparently not. The score in the end is a nice way to encourage the player to play again and find all the wheels. I played again and I really thought I found all of them, one in each level, but somehow I got only 8 of 9.
Overall, well done!
@Woett: Wow, such dedication! I can't even do that :open_mouth: Congrats on your world records!
@petturtle & @cwazywierdo: Thanks! Yup, I tend to make hard games. Every time again, I fail to remember that the game is hard without 3 days of playing/debugging
@jimbly: Thanks for your comment! And thanks for sharing your scores. Yes, it's a bit funny that you can see that you will not have enough room to turn around, but can't do anything about it. Oh well  With two buttons, of course, the game would be trivial. (Or maybe with a cooldown on the direction switch? Hmmm )
@connormck: Thanks for playing! In what broswer were you playing? I only tested Chrome so far.
@bananabobbert: Thanks, nice score!
@jimbly: Ah like that it would indeed probably still be challenging and confusing, because you still need to keep track in your mind if you were going left or right. As a back story, maybe something has to be brought to the other side of the vehicle to be able to turn the other way. This way you can see it, and it has a cool down. Interesting idea  I was indeed also thinking of inverting the controls, because we are used to take action when we want to turn right or left, instead of stopping doing something, but indeed for the sake of the theme (and because I like funny mechanics) I opted for this version. I just tried it the other way around, it might be a bit more intuitive. Maybe I'll make a shadow version ;)
@peachtreeoath Thanks for your lovely comment! No, I had never heard of Clu Clu land before! What remindend you of it? It seems the player in Clu Clu land can choose which direction to turn, but indeed spinning round and round. (I just found on Wikipedia: '"Clu Clu" is an anglicization of "Kuru Kuru"; a Japanese onomatopoeia that refers to something going "around and around".')
OMG, this game is so good! :fire: The controls are very intuitive for me (although they induce wrist pain :stuck_out_tongue:). I finished the game in hard mode! The mechanics of the enemies and the final boss are also very nice. Maybe the hoop is indeed the ultimate weapon, since it seems like the minions didn't harm me that much when they run into me, because they run into the hoop and hurt themselves most of the time, even when I am not swinging the hoop or standing still.
I enjoyed the art, the intro and the music. Very impressive! Especially as a solo/compo game! :open_mouth:
Wow, cool game! And very polished.
I enjoyed the funky music and the awesome graphics. Funny way of removing broken cars. The UFO was also quite funny, and at some point the trees starting dancing! :open_mouth: Controlling the car was felt a bit funny to me, but I got somewhat used to it after a while.
Interesting way of moving the finish line when you drive 'backwards' over it. Having to complete the roundabout once in a while gives a nice flow to the game, and I also noticed the time intervals drop when you get further, that's a nice way to make the game gradually harder.
Well done!
RoundaboutRowdyScrshot.png
Wow, mind-bending game! Very cool take on the theme. I enjoyed discovering the mechanics of the stones (but indeed, an example on one screen would have been easier). Very clever design how the game parts loop, and how the stones and holes were distributed. On my first try I got a bit stuck on what else I could do, but on my second attempt I had a fresh look at the level/part with the double player (very cool by the way), and found the end. Awesome job!
Interesting game with scary psycho roundabouts! I felt the roundabout was the right way around, but exiting for the left lane continued to be hard. I wish the game was a little bit more forgiving with that!
Sometimes I would end up in a situation with a car or truck driving beside me with a very similar (angular) velocity, very annoying. Together with the randomness of the pickups (or do they just stop appearing?), it felt a bit unfair. Having to start all the way from the beginning again and again made it less fun. Is there a way to win the game?
I like the way you introduced the different mechanics to the game. All in all, well done! :)
Wow, there are so many suitcases at once if you mess up! Once I found out that I only need the newly arrived suitcases after the persons arrive, it went much better. It would have been nice to have some more time to remove the unwanted luggage, and it would also be nice to know that it is alright to remove these suitcases. As other people said, it's quite annoying that we can't see what the left most and right most persons want, because the UI is covering it. Some indication of when people will leave would be nice. My first non-negative score was 210
The graphics are cute. Well done. :)
I enjoyed playing your game! My highscore is 24711, for now. The controls felt smooth, and the graphics and sounds were funny. I also liked how the shoot/chomp always went down to the ground while I was in the air, very useful. Well done!
Omg, this is such a good game! :medal:
Very difficult, but very addictive as well.
Very creative mechanics that fit the theme very well. I enjoyed the narrative while I was failing or succeeding a part, it was motivating me.
It looks very polished. Awesome job!
Nice game with interesting lasso mechanics! Some of the lasso mechanics I understood immediately, but for the bisons and vultures I needed to have a look at the description. I think this game would work better with a touch screen. I tried on my phone, but the game doesn't fit nicely in my screen (so I quickly died... ), but the lasso mechanics work! And indeed it feels better for me, as I am not so fast with my mouse.
Once I got 200+ points, but I always end up dying in the bison group. I wish I could see a bit further ahead, by moving the carriage more down in the screen.
Cool game, well done!
What a weird and funny concept & story behind the game! The intro and the voice acting are hilarious! The sound for shooting a (single) fish was also really funny, but somehow also a bit annoying.
The strange way of moving and aiming takes a while to get used to. Walking while dragging the tank is soooo slow, and you're so vulnerable while doing that! So I left the eels-upgrades for what they were after a while.
I felt that the diagonal bullets were really hard to dodge, since from the side the player is a way bigger target. Also, the diagonal moving enemies seemed to move faster. I found it annoying that the bullets fly through the tanks, so I couldn't hide there.
I was really struggling with shooting, there seems to be something funny with timing there. I missed something that showed how much time I had to wait until I could shoot again. At first I thought the cooldown time was just very long, since hitting the spacebar to soon wouldn't shoot another fish for a while (I could only fire my second fish once the first fish was gone). Then I tried hitting the spacebar reeeeally short and fast after each other, and saw some improvements, nut not regular. Then, not believing it would work, I hold the spacebar. Ahaaaa! This continuous shooting made the game way more playable  (but the music is less hearable now...). So in the end, my strategy was just continuous shooting, while zigzagging from left to right and back on top of my shark tank.
I enjoyed the different music and graphics for each level. Well done. :)
Pwoah, that was difficult! I guess I am not that good in games with WASD + Mouse ;) I enjoyed the graphics and the walking animation. I like the music within the levels, but the music in the start screen was a bit too overwhelming/loud/sharp for my taste.
On my first attempt I got stuck in the level with the moving squares when one of the last squares hit me; the player became invisible, but I could still hear some sounds.
Somehow I finished the game! :confetti_ball: In the level with the moving squares, it felt like I was using a bug to let myself be moved by the squares. It seemed that if I hit the squares on the good side, It will move me, otherwise it would kill me? Visually this was not clear, so I was not sure if I was meant to do this.
I found the maze also to be very tricky with the narrow paths, I ended up just running for my life, ignoring the bats, and hoping for a good run.
I would like to fire my bullets with a shorter cool down timer, but also that the bullets would fly faster, or at least that the bats would fly slower - the bats seemed to fly faster than my bullets. :open_mouth: Also, I wish I could just hold my mouse button for continuous shooting.
The rewinding of the level is quite cute, but also a bit confusing at first, because it's so fast that it looks like a glitch at first.
Nice variation on snake! :) It was a bit confusing at first that the stones are taller than the squares. I enjoyed playing your game, and I also enjoyed the two different flavours of the rules.
I indeed crashed the game on "Small" + "Thoughtful" and running around till there is one square left (without making loops).
I wonder were you wanted to go with the puzzles, so let me know if you develop it further. Well done! :)
I really enjoyed your choice of music and how the flying particles fit with the music, already in the start screen. :) Interesting concept of following the growing and shrinking (death) loop, although I had some room to move around I couldn't really decide where I was going. I would have liked to see some visual impact on hitting the enemies. Although the game is not finished, it has potential! Well done
Haha I thought "track" in " ... that will try to destroy you and your track!" in your description was a typo of "tank", but no, the track actually gets destroyed! The music and the graphics really give the game a finished look.
The tank drives well, but I wish my turning circle would be smaller, since I have to avoid so many holes and enemies. The tank looks quite a lot like the green squares, but perhaps that is tank-like, to blend in. However, I wish the front and the back of the tank were a bit more distinguishable, since sometimes I lost track of which direction I was going after bumping into something. Then I also noticed that steering backwards was the other way than I expected from a tank.
You made some interesting levels, and I like the mechanic of the moving finish line to different places. I wish my score was visible while playing, to see if I was improving my previous score. I did miss some sense of achieving/finishing a level.
Overall, really well done!
I enjoyed throing everything around and outside, but it got a bit laggy after a while so I had to restart. I couldn't find the second key, so I needed the hint above as well. It felt funny that I could throw things through the window, but could not leave through the window. Altough in one of the last ones I threw a table outside and I found myself outside as well! Not sure what to do I picked up things and started throwing them inside again, hoping that it would teleport me back. When I picked up a cabinet, the rendering wasn't right (it was green). Then when I somehow got back in or finished the level, everything was green and floating. Not sure if that was meant to be? Nice job!
Cute game, with a cute title and cute art! And quite hard! :open_mouth: The blue pointy things were quite hard to avoid, since they are not very well visible. I would have liked to be able to restart the game with key in stead of mouse. I missed the impact sound of the purple ball, so I was hoping for a bit that it was increasing my health, but it wasn't. Well done!
Acorneredscrshot.png
Cute game! I enjoyed the music! After my first success, it was not clear what my highscore meant, was I supposed to make a long or a short path? Finding a path as long as possible is also quite challenging! (Then you should count the number of tiles the ball passes, not the number of tiles you clicked). I managed to get a score of 32 on my third successful run. :) I think it would be nice if the first available tile would be highlighted in some way. I can imagine some levels with obstacles to avoid or fixed pipes for a postjam version. :) Well done!
Nice concept! It seems there is no winning condition yet, but I had fun playing with it and looking at it. It's nice how the train gets bigger when it gets fuller. :train2: It seems like at some point it doesn't give you destinations anymore, so I always got stuck there, with the queus of people getting bigger and bigger. I found it a bit puzzling at first how the switches worked, because I didn't see a visual result (other than the switch itself). Maybe it's an idea to move the switches to the minimap to the place where the are, and then highlighting which route we currently take? Although it is very nice to follow the train up close, it felt a bit disorienting, with the station names flashing by. Good job!
Nice game! Nice touch to have an extra, smaller paddle. I wish I had more influence on where the ball was going, it didn't seem to matter how I hit the ball (with the middel or the sides, moving or not moving). I found a strategy in which I was moving the paddle through the side opposite to where the ball was, and managed to get to 43. :) I tried with my game controller, but I preferred the mouse.
Cool game! I was ducking from side to side with my head while playing. ;)
The bounciness against the walls was quite annoying to me and apparently slowed me down (it took me a while in level 3 to get that I shouldn't touch the ceiling too much at the start) - but maybe that was on purpose to get the player to not hug the walls too much. It took me 54 deaths, but I got to the end ;) I wasn't a fan of that I basically had to gradually learn the level by heart, because there was not an indication where things would come from or go to. (Also, the stack of collapsing balls is just mean! Too unpredictable and they are reorganising themselves very late... maybe I should hug a wall for a bit before going there?).
I liked the particles flying around and the bright glow of everything.
From the description it is not clear if the music was made for this game by lucidbuffalo (if not, you should opt out for the audio category), but it fits very nice. :)
Good job!
Interesting game! I enjoyed playing it, and the graphics are charming. I like how the characters all had their own font, as a way to give them some personality. ^^ I also like what you already did for the post-jam version! Nice sounds, music and more graphics, and a lovely sun and moon.
Well done!
Under the pole, UNDER THE POLE! That was hilarious voice acting! The game is quite hard. It was hard to figure out when I went low enough to go under the bar, and I felt like I could hardly press space fast enough. I managed to get past the quarter finals, but couldn't finish the semifinals.
Also, I found it quite funny that it says JK5000 everywhere. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Very well done compo game!
Cool game! I enjoyed playing it, both inside and outside the tube. The leaderboard is a really nice touch!
Very nice to find a card game in Ludum Dare! I enjoyed it quite much! My scores were all over the place: 41, 48, 0, 25, 23, 50. Well done! :)
There's so much to love about this game! I love the animations of the cat, and how the different scenes all have a different cool music. I finished the game, although I didn't completely understand what was going on. ;) It was not super clear where there was a door, but not hard to find either. You couldn't really get lost. I quite enjoyed dancing around! :) I played the game again to see if you could fail that section, and apparantly you can! Quite funny :) I also liked collecting shells, because, well, it was possible. Such a cute detail the the people open their eye when you run. Great game again!
Cool one-button game! It runs really smooth. I was very suprised that the gravity suddenly changed! In later levels I would have liked some indicator for where it would change exactly. In level 4 (?) I was confused for a bit, till I found the double jump mechanic. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Some of the jumps and double jumps were very tight, and it was a bit tedious to redo the whole level every time, but I guess that's kind of unavoidable in this kind of game.
The player character is very cute. Well done!
Cool game! I like the smooth mechanics and shooting the bullets feel very powerful. Nice in-game introduction of the mechanics. Cool that you could already see the next level(s) in the background. Fun levels, although it wasn't clear where a warp would lead, but that didn't matter that much while playing. The boss was quite challenging, but I managed!
Cool music as well! On the end screen I see that you didn't make it, so I think you should opt out of the audio category, or at least mention it in your description?
Such a cool, creative and funny game! :sparkling_heart:
I love the concept of going deeper and deeper into the insides of different nested creatures. It's very cool how the levels are connected in this way, I guess that takes some planning. It was nice to be able to play with a controller, and the movement is nice and smooth.
I like the graphics, and how the levels adapt to the creature we are in. And how is everything is moving around.
I had to laugh at the high voice when the doctor is small. The mechanic that you get bigger again after a fixed amount of time is very nice (but also nice that as a player I could control that as well), and made that I had to think about this when racing through the intestines. The levels with tiny platforms where not my favorite, because it was quite easy to overshoot the platform.
I enjoyed the music, and how it changed in the end game (which was cool as well).
Nice that you have an intro and a tutorial, and how you reused some of the signs in the levels. The safepoints where not clear to me at first that they were safe.
Oh, and nice bubbles!
Overall, awesome entry! :raised_hands:
Nice game! It was fun to play, although it was a bit overwhelming to control all 4 marines at the start, but I quickly got used to that. I wish they would rotate quicker though ;) I couldn't get past level 3. I would like to see some indicator of the health of the enemies, and to have some more visual feedback of which marine I selected (not just in the top, because that's not where I am looking). Maybe the selected marine could light up. Well done!
@radmccool: Thanks for your comment and your screenshot! You finished the game! :confetti_ball: It's quite a good score for a first run! The other screenshots in the comments are by people who tried to speedrun the game.
@hugison Thank you! You have a point about the cows! At the moment you can't really use them to your advantage, but they can block you sometimes.
@peachtreeoath Thanks (again) for your detailed comment! I didn't know VVVVV, but I can see what you mean.
@haivron Thanks! Yes, we could have integrated the cows more into the platforming. Maybe in an post-LD version.
@hidjy Thanks! That's also an interesting idea. I guess that would mean a lot of running from left to right. Or maybe the movement of the ufo would then have to be different. Maybe it could just keep going left and right, instead of following the player. Or maybe you could even control the beam. So many possibilities!
Interesting concept! I build something and moved it for a bit, but it moved rather slow. It would have been nice to see some visual feedback when I am using a turbine. I tried one of your examples where the cockpit and the turbine are only connected by red coil springs, and that was quite funny! Great entry, well done. :)
Cute game with innovative fighting mechancis!
I enjoyed playing with my keyboard more than playing with my controller.
I wish I knew how far along the game I was when I failed again. In the beginning, I would have liked an option to finish the attack sooner, because it was quite simple and I was often waiting for quite a bit. On the other hand, the later challenges were too hard for me, so that I never managed to finish the game. If it wasn't for the screenshot by @peachtreeoath I wouldn't have known that there was an end.
Nice entry, congrats!
Cool and interesting entry! I really enjoyed the graphics and the mood. I was a bit confused about what was happening and what I had to do, but that kind of fitted the theme. I found the end eventually. Well done!
Awesome QWOP-like game! I almost got till 60m...
Wow what a great compo entry! Almost can't believe you made it on your own in 48 h. :open_mouth: :raised_hands:
I love the low poly graphics, the mechanics and the soft piano music.
It's very cool to fly around, but like others, I am not good at it. Maybe because I can't see the player "character", the hitbox or really the direction in which I am going or how I am effecting it. It would be nice to have a noob-mode in which you would see a part of a predicted trajectory. I tried quite a few times and landed in the forest a few times. Once I escaped the terrain in the beginning and had a nice calm flight outside the island, and reentered in some other cave.
Great game! I really enjoyed the smooth mechanics. The graphics, the music and the sound effects are also really great, especially for a compo game! :open_mouth: It's very nice that you implemented two different high scores, any scrap & all scrap. This way the player can choose the difficulty. I decided to collect all the scrap in every level. One of the last pieces of scrap in level 4 was quite hard! But I managed, and completed the game.
It's quite a good speedrunning game, and the music fits that too. It would be nice to be able to share all the high scores in one screen.
Awesome job!
LD48QuickScrapPB.png
Neat game! I saw someone play it on a stream and decided to play it for myself. I really enjoyed the graphics, animations and sound effects. I enjoyed the little puzzles. Well done!
Awesome game! Quite addictive as well. I really enjoyed the mechanics and the graphics. It took me a while, but I finished! :white_flower:
Great game! Very cool mechanics. Once you know how the controls work, it's quite addictive! I got till 308m in my last try.
Well done!
Another great game by Cocoa Moss! I love every part of it!
Unfortunately I didn't have someone around to play with me, but I very much enjoyed the one-player version! I like how the star-system motivates the player to try again, and that you can't "die" in a level. After a few tries I got 2 stars on each level. (I guess it helped that we also made a balancing game.) ButI didn't reach 3 stars yet.
Very cute graphics, and awesome music. I can see this being a very fun two-player game, I will return to this game when I findsomeone to play with! :smile_cat:
The two player version was also very fun! It took some tries, but we got 3 stars in all levels! :smile_cat:
Hilarious and difficult! I had fun playing the game, but I was very bad at it. My high score was 5 :sheep:
The controls were a bit unstable too, I am not sure if that was on purpose. Sometimes the horse wouldn't rotate? It seems that I can't rotate after a kicked.
I enjoyed the music! But the sheep sound like ducks? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Cool idea! At first, I didn't feel very much in control over what was happening, but maybe that fits the unstable theme. ;) I think I got better at the game after playing a few rounds, but I only got till round 9 after a few tries. I would have liked to replay a single level in stead of starting at the first one again.
I found myself thinking "Noooh, not the minus! Not the 0! Not there!" several times.
I was hoping that dividing by zero would give me infinity, but it gave me 0...
The "asynchronous multiplayer" aspect is cool, but I can also see this game as a fun synchronous multi-player game with all the players fighting over the +'s and x's!
@PeachTreeOath Thank you for you lovely comment! Yes, we made a difficult game again. I am glad you enjoyed it.
@MicheleLeva Thanks for the commend and your feedback! It is indeed very hard. In the later levels you can slow down a bit during the jump (or even go the other direction) to avoid smashing your head into the steps. :head_bandage:
@jaybaus: Thanks! :smile:
@iacopo Hmm, yes the game is rather punishing. Thanks for the feedback! Maybe we will add a level picker later, so you can have a look at other levels.
@zookatron @jose-bonilla @bunchanurds @skallywags @octopusprime Thanks for your comments! It is a very hard game indeed. Thanks for trying it! Did you discover that you can jump over the head, like rope skipping?
Nice entry! I like the concept, but I found the controls a bit hard. I tried a few times and didn't get further than 560 points. Controlling the mouse, WASD and the numbers keys was a bit much. I wish I could use the mouse to move the cargo around. I enjoyed the bubbles, the voice acting and the sound effects. :) Well done!
Haha, cool and funny game! The mechanics are interesting, and a bit hard to get used to, but I had fun playing this game! The graphics are really nice, and the music is very cheery.
Well done!
Cute little game! I enjoyed playing it, I would have liked more levels.
Wow, that's a really original and cool mix of game mechanics! It took a little while to figure out how to use these mechanics for the given goal, but I completed all levels. Nice graphics and cool music, well done!
Nice entry! I love the visual effects.
I was a bit confused at first, but I figured it out. The ship was not very easy to control, but I enjoyed playing. Also, really good choice of music, I like how it gets louder as the black hole gets bigger.
Fun game! I like the concept, it runs smooth and it looks good. I managed finish it, and I died only 37 times. ;) It was nice to see the different obstacles you came up with. The one thing I fuond a bit annoying was that the minicopters can shout outside their gray cone. But other than that, congrats on a very good first Ludum Dare entry!
Cool game with a great take on the theme! I enjoyed playing and played a few times. I didn't manage to fill the whole island. I'd like to see some kind of score in my gameover screen, so that I can try to beat it next time. Sometimes it was quite exciting, "GIVE ME ANOTHER BUILDING, QUICK!" The tilting waves are a nice animation to simulate the tilting of the island, but I found that it took me some time to get used to it. I like the music. Well done!
Cute graphics! I also like that the story slowly unfolds during the game. However, I found the gameplay itself quite boring, because the pace was too slow and the game is not at all challenging. But this can easily be fixed in a PostCompo version.
I did enjoy the weather effects and the moving grass. I like the idea that some mages work better or worse in certain weather conditions. I was a bit surprised that all the blobs took the same path, and that the lower path was never used. Also, I could place multiple mages on the exact same spot.
Haha oh I laughed so much! I managed to get two sheep back, and two other I got out, but not home. ;) I found out that I also lose if I push the farmer into a black hole. ;) I found the named circles quite funny, as well as the musical sound effects! Well done.
Cool game! I wasn't very good at it. ;) I played a few times, but didn't get any further than level 4. I am curious what will happen in the next levels, but completely restarting every time killed some of the fun. I found it surprisingly difficult to navigate on the unstable platform, especially when I couldn't see the ball anymore when it was tilting backwards. The graphics are simple but efficient. Well done!
Nice music and simple but clean graphics. I got 05:08, but the game was just a bit too repetitive to give it another try.
I think this is this first βincremental music videoβ that I played. I enjoyed the concept and the music, but the game was quite long/repetitive (for a jam game), it took me almost 40 minutes to complete it. On the one hand, there wasn't much time to check out what the different upgrades did, but on the other hand, I often found myself waiting because I didn't have the right amount of the right crystal. I enjoyed the graphics and the animations, and the different styles in the different levels. AFter completing, I finally took the time to have a look at what actually was happening: a lot!
Overal, great entry! :)
@dining-philosopher Thanks for playing and your comment! Congrats for completing the lap! What was your highscore?
Indeed, you can go for multiple laps, the hearts will reappear. But inevitably, you will run out of energy at some point. I have been thinking a lot about how the segways should follow, but with the jumping I opted indeed for an exact copy of the player's movements, directions and sprite states. That is also why there aren't any moving things. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
@bodcodes :green_heart: Thanks for sharing your score and hurdle! Nice score, 7412 m. is quite far! That's really almost a lap!  Also, a hint for that hurdle: !> You can either do a very late double jump or, even better, jump from the "floor"!
@thomz12 :green_heart: Thanks for playing and your comment! 5km is a very decent score! Indeed, figuring out when to switch is key. I see two reasons to switch: !> Your runner is almost running out of energy, or one of the persons on the segways is full of energy.
@Renge Thanks! Nice suggestions  I also thought of automatic switches, but maybe sometimes you want to switch to the other one, if you are about to collect a bunch of hearts.
@sakura-magika Thanks for your feedback, you make many valid points!
@adafheyesh Thanks for playing and for your feedback! At the point where you need your double jump te first time, there is a slight hint in the form of two up-arrows on the background at the point where you need them at the start. Nice to hear you got into the speedrun/optimization vibe. How far did you get?
@peachtreeoath Thank you for your kind and detailed review! Awesome score by the way! π₯³
@adafheyesh 7k! That's really neat, that's almost a lap πππΌ Indeed, the game lacks some in-game instructions! But you know the familiar excuse: time was very limited...
First, awesome music and cute graphics and animations! Original twist on a tower defense by letting the player move the towers.
I didn't get what the orange thing was at first, but I figured out that the minions go there and produce coins. A little animation/tween of coins going towards the coin total would have been nice here. I found it a bit weird that you have to wait for it to finish, when you already finished the round.
The game got more interesting around Round 8, when enemies were coming from 3 (and later 4) directions. I died in level 11.
Nice game and original idea, and clever idea to put the tutorial on the sides of the cube. :) I like the sound effects and how they blend in with the background music. My best: 2:26
Cool clicker game! It's nice to see the number go up and the tree getting bigger! And very convenient that the Water Carrier, the Fruit Picker only need one payment to continue to work forever :D
Very nice graphics! I also enjoyed how the graphics evolved during the game. Nice soothing music as well, although I think it stopped at some point.
I liked the hover-over explanations, but I missed them when I already had bought one of the items/services, because sometimes I wanted to check again what something did. The guards were not se clear to me, so in the first battle I lost before I knew what was happening. The next time I just bought many guards, and then nothing happened for quite a while. At some point I had 250 Water Carriers, 1000 Fruit Pickers, 100 Fertilizers, a lot of guards, walls and a castle. It still took quite a while to find the true ending after that.
My hand hurts a little from all the clicking. Well done! Great entry
Cool! I enjoyed the music (did you make it yourself?) and voice acting. It's very cool that you made AI enemies, but there seemed to be a problem with zombies that got stuck. I managed to become the reaper a few times. :confetti_ball: It felt a bit strange to have a leaderboard, since your score also depends on how quickly your opponents die. Overall, nice entry!
Haha, funny game! I stopped after 6:00 thinking that I really should stop playing LD games and go to bed. ;) Great entry!
I have been playing your game during your stream. Oh dear, that was hard. I felt like turning my keyboard around to make the controls feel the right way around. ;) I managed to land two times in a pool and got upgraded tanks. I landed in another pool (but without the chair) and I don't think the tanks changed after that, or maybe there are just 2 upgrades? RocketLawnchair.png
Fun mythological mini-games! I liked the different little tasks that I had to do with the mouse. But as @unless-games said, the player doesn't get punished for losing cards. On my first run, I quickly lost most cards, but in the end I was just alternating between the vase and Sisyphus. I stopped after 3 minutes, because it got boring. Maybe you could start with just a few (random?) cards (or even just one card), and then as time goes by you get more and more prisoners to watch over. Or perhaps you gain more points when you have multiple cards open?
Nice original balancing game! Soothing music, and I like the night background.
I was already mesmerized by the start screen with the moving voronoi polygons  I found the gameplay somewhat confusing at first, I followed the arrow down/south, in stead of interacting with the door. ;) But I managed to find the end of the game. Cool music as well!
I really like the idea of the game, very relatable, haha. The graphics are very cute.
Maybe I missed something, but I didn't get when the alarm would go off or how to delay it. I found the character movement a bit slow, and the field of vision a bit small. I played several times, and really wanted to skip the introductions on the re-runs.
I like the overall clcok theme in this pinball game. It was fun to play!
The physics was (in the HTML version at least) sometimes a bit weird: the ball bounced very hard. I liked how heavy the ball seems because of the sound effects. The game seemed to be quite easy, so after a while I just sat back and watched for a while to see how long it would take to let the time run out and got to 7260 points.
Haha, fun game! Original mechanics, but even after completing the game I wasn't completely sure about the controls, haha. I just kept randomly jumping around. It seemed that the raindrops only really hit you when you are standing on a leaf, so I just kept jumping around. I tried a few times and my best score so far is 16. I had fun! :)
Fun little game! :) It took me a few tries to figure out how to control the getting and throwing of the boxes. But when I got it, I had fun running around while avoiding the customers!
Because the boxes spawn a little above the player's head, when you get a box from the top wall, the box will get stuck in the wall. When playing for the first time, it was not clear to me why the box is not moving then. From te bottom wall however, you don't have this problem. So in the end I found a winning (/cheating) strategy: you can just stand near the bottom wall and alternate between the down arrow key and space bar  Maybe you could add a restriction on how many boxes you can get from a piece of wall, forcing the player to move around?
I found it a bit surprising that the heap of boxes that I created this way would (only) fly to the next customer when I threw another box.
The music is really cute and fitting, but since you didn't make it yourself, I think you should opt out of the Audio category.
Haha cool game and fun concept! I tried a couple of times and managed to delay work for 2:31.
I didn't see the calculator at first, whoops. I was just trying to type in the right answer, and lost quite a few games on that.
The rotation/aiming with the ketchup bottle was a bit clunky, as well as operating the calculator. It seemed there was some delay in the input (I played the HTML version).
I love the office sounds, and when the boss checks in I notice that I react with my body and face in a cartoony "pretending-to-work" face, haha! Well done
Nice game! Pretty graphics. As a jigsaw enthusiast, I immediately went for the puzzle pieces, but apparently that was wrong, haha. I got my score quite high, and was just thinking "this is too easy", when I noticed that there weren't any positive things anymore... Best total after 1 round: 2878
Funky music, cool sound effect, fun title and nice game! I played only once, and because I saw that reaching 150 meant smashing it, I tried my best to get past that point. After around 100 I experienced quite an increase in difficulty. ;) In the end the game became somewhat tedious, so I decided to stop after 167. ;) Great entry! :D LD50LostYourSheet.png
-edit- I just had another look at it while giving ratings, and I noticed that if you just immediately hang the sail, the boat just speeds away and you never see the angry man again. My ship then crashed around 127, without doing anything. ;)
Oh, and I really like how the particles of water worked! Well done!
Cool graphics, awesome music, fun game!
Interesting entry! I also would have loved to see a more stable version of this game. I played both web versions, those didn't work very great, so I also played the Windows build (threads). I played for quite some time, to try to figure out how the game works.
In the web version, I checked the console, and there are quite some things printed out, that doesn't help for the speed of the game! From the logs it seems that the pathfinding need some optimization, because often the game would freeze for some time during these calculations. It seemed like the pathfinding was not updated when you add stations during their walk, I saw a robot walking through a newly build station. I am curious what kind of path-finding algorithm you used, since sometimes the robots would do an unnecessary round of steps back to the same spot. But later I thought maybe this is the case just to pass some time, to wait till the station is available again? I was also surprising to see that two robots could be at the same spot.
In the Windows version, I completed my first level with a score of 663. On a random level I scored 933! It was not clear to me how the score was calculated. I wondered if there is a way to lose the level?
For a long time it was not clear to me when the robots spawned (because the game would freeze often) and what they would make. It took me a while to realize it takes ten seconds for the next order on the left to be on the top, and that at that point it will be calculated if that order can be made. If so, a robot is spawned.
Then the question was, why did some orders got canceled, while the stations were in the kitchen? I had already noticed the loading bars when the robots were at the water or at the cooking station, but only much later I realised that the other stations also have a cooling down period when they have just been used. Can this cause the next robot to not complete its order?
Some robots would spawn in the upper left corner. Are they waiting for the stations to be free?
Quite late I discovered that the stations on the right have a hover over text. But unfortunately, it was behind the other buttons. In general, a little more feedback would be nice. For example when the next order is at the top, maybe it can be highlighted, or flash, or fly towards a robot, to indicate that order is being processed. Some more feedback whether or not you have enough funds to build a station would be welcome. I think it would have been nice to give the robots a different color than the stations.
Levelwise I think it would be fun to also have levels for which the doors are not exactly opposite each other, and perhaps some extra walls or obstacles. I often ended up placing all the stations above and below the straight walking route.
Nice sound effects for each of the ingredients and actions. :)
In the end I managed to beat the Hard level with a score of 844! :)
Cool game, with aswesome graphics and awesome music! I really enjoyed playing this game, it is also quite addicting. It also helps that there is a leaderboard. :)
I like how you actually have to stop near the customer, but it would be nice to have some visual feedback to know if you are close enough. Something about the steering was a bit weird, but that also made it hilarious.
I like how the music changes after a while and gets you all hyped, also the transition into the game over music is nice.
I like how you can take your time to get to the first customer and learn how to drive the truck.
Overall, great game! Well done  :icecream:
Haha, it took me waaay too long to figure out where I could find "the type of waste indicated", and it was a total mystery how I scored points. I looked everywhere for a symbol, an indicator or a color, but of course I didn't look at the edge of the waste furnace... :face_palm_tone1:
Before I figured out what the scoring was, I did have fun just moving the blocks around and trying to go on for as long as possible:
NuclearWasteDisposal.png
Frankly, after I found out how the scoring worked, I never got near that score again
Original mechanics of moving the blocks around! But I did find it was not so easy to see which blocks were connected. Perhaps it might be easier to see at a glance what kind of tetris blocks you're dealing with if the white lines between the blocks were in the same color as the blocks itself.
I like the graphics of the game and the finished look. And do I hear your voice when the time runs out, @dining-philosopher?
Nice game, congrats!
Nice game! The graphics are very nice, of both the earth, player and enemies as well as the UI. The choices that you get every 10 seconds are nicely color coded to quicly see if it's for the player of for earth.
For me the game felt way too easy. I bought all the upgrades before losing even 1 HP for either the player or the earth. The ten seconds flew by, and I was often just a bit annoyed that I had choose something again, because nothing was broken.
In the beginning I was surprised by the controls (maybe because I just played a game with different controls), I expected that W would be "go straight ahead" and A en D would be "slowly turn left or right". But I got used to the 4-way movement quite quickly. But also I noticed that I didn't really have to move, since the coins would just fly towards me. After 10 minutes, I intentionally stopped playing, to see what would happen.
The bullets have a nice wiggly tail. They also fly rather slow, but I guess that makes sense over those distances.
Overall, nice job! :earth_africa:
LD51spacefield.png
Very nice interpretation of the theme! I like the mechanics of playing around with the different spells and changing the order, timing and who does what. The moving match to indicate the time is a nice touch.
Cute art style as always! I would have liked some more feedback in the sprite of the ghosts when they are being hit, like a short change in color.
I liked that I could watch a "replay" of the level, to see what actually had happened, or continue playing around with the level, trying new combinations.
It was very fun to play. I played twice, and both times the Lucky Red Panda was quite hard to beat! The second time I had this solution, but it didn't work all the time:
LD51exorcistpartrol.png
Awesome game!
Nice game with interesting mechanics. :)
Cool mechanic that you have to hit the wall before taking out a blue star. Your description says "jumping again resets him to red". I noticed that after jumping the reaper indeed couldn't take out a blue star, but its image was still blue, which is a bit confusing.
Like others said, the background seam was a bit distracting. ;)
The music fits nicely with the game! Since you opted out for audio, I guess that you didn't make the music yourself. Perhaps you could give some credits in your description of the game?
I played several times, and this was my (not so high) highscore:
LD51tenreaper.png
@digitaldude555 Yes, that's how I found your game.
@peachtreeoath Thank you for your very kind review, as always.
I also am not entirely sure what it's supposed to be. I wanted to make an abstract game with loads of circles, and leave it up to the player to create their own story (or none). But indeed, I was also thinking about cells, and that there is someone looking (or making photos) through a microscope from whom you try to hide.
Nice scores!
@Annika Thanks for playing and your comment! Nice scores as well! That's exactly why I put so many green circles in level 2, so that you can find out yourself that those are not scary. I'm glad you liked that. The timer is indeed there for all those speedrunners among you! The items are indeed randomly chosen and distributed, in such a way that there are not already two of the same item in one place. So yes, you'll need to be a bit lucky in an optimal speedrun.
@sanemsky Thanks for playing and your comment! Good point about the sound, I can imagine that you don't like the high pitch sound of a kalimba. I just tried to play my own game with just my laptop sound (in stead of my usual external speakers) and I found that the sounds are quite harsh then. Did you try head phones or speakers?
@r3d3r Thank you, you are too kind
@fabula-rasa Thank you for playing and your comment! Yes, the levels could certainly be more difficult, maybe in a post-jam version!
@candlesan Thank you for your comment. Yes, the in-game instructions are non-existent, I didn't have (/take) time for that this LD...
@nardandas Thanks! I am glad you liked the sounds. Yes the music was randomly generated. I recorded every note on my kalimba, and then I took a measure of 4 beats, and gave each beat a different probability of making a sound, with the first and last beat having the highest probability of making a sound.
@alchemic Thanks a lot for playing and your feedback! Funny, the "hide every 10 seconds for the photo" mechanic was the first idea behind the game, the sorting came later. :) But indeed, if you have the patience, you can play it very safe and take some more time to wait before each photo, and then slowly find your way to the next circle. At first I had a time limit for each level, to pressure the player to rush. But in the end I swapped it around, you just see how long you took at the end of the game. Then you can decide yourself if you want to try to speedrun it. :)
@badcop Thanks for playing my game on your stream! I know its not a long or difficult game, but you really breezed through it  Indeed, I was also thinking of someone looking through a microscope every 10 seconds, but I wanted to keep it abstract. I am glad you noticed the circular playing area and the flashing before the photo. It's nice to see someone playing my game, thanks!
And thanks @nardandas for the recommendation
I like the funny dance moves the chef makes while doing his work.
I enjoyed the background music, but since you opted out for audio, I think you didn't make the music yourself? Perhaps you could you provide some credits?
Although I played both the original and version 3, I found that it was a bit unclear how to start a new pizza.. Some feedback would be nice if a player clicks on an order. Also I didn't understand what the rectangular thing was in the bottom left.
I liked the idea of being blessed or cursed every 10 seconds and the different variations, but I felt like I didn't have options to react to it. This made the game too repetitive. For example, if I was cursed by slow walking speed, I would like to be able to choose to prepare a pile of ingredients for several pizzas in stead of walking.
The graphics are very nice, and with the curses and blessings it certainly has potential. Keep up the good work!
This was my final score, although I don't know what it all means. LD51_kalamitykitchen.png
Interesting game! I enjoyed dancing around on the keyboard to make the combinations. But soehow, some combinations seemed impossible, it wouldn't accept one of the keys, but then sometimes it would work on my build-in laptop keyboard, or the other way around.. I noticed that after day 5 I could continue to play, although it didn't count anymore for the score. ;) Well done!
Wow, that's a very zen game! Just looking at the sleeping cat makes me happy and calm. :smile_cat: I completed the story and also played the zen mode. Fun tools to play with. Sometimes the plant grew a little too slow for my taste.
Cute art style, with everything bobbing around. The transitions are also very nice. I love how the timer has 10 lines in stead of the normal 12.
I had fun with this one:
LD51Silvi2.png
My last plant had some unexpected different colored branches, I was not sure if this was on purpose, because they were drawn on top of some leafs.
LD51Silvi.png
Nice entry! It took me a while to realise that I just had to wait to be able to continue. This was a bit frustrating when the player died and I had to start from the beginning again. But I managed to finish the game.
Nice graphics, and cool music. The fact that the music has a loop of 10 seconds, helps with knowing when the next explosion will happen.
Like others said, a health bar would be very welcome.
Cool game with interesting mechanics! I had quite some fun with it. But it was quite hard as well. ;) Since the blocks were so big, I wasn't always able to rotate them, which was a pity. Also, sometimes I wished the blocks would spawn higher/above in the level, because with a very long block, I was game over while I had still room to place it.
Frequently I was gameover, without seeing what happened. Maybe it would be nice to see the tower that you made in the background. Some more feedback of when the timer is running out would be nice.
The graphics are nice and clean, and the music fits nicely. Since you opted out for music, I think you didn't create it yourselves. Could you perhaps add some credits in your description?
I played quite a few times, this was my highscore (I played the original version):
LD51bigblockmode.png
Very nice game! I had fun playing it.
The graphics are very nice and I enjoyed all the different obstacles and enemies and their animations. I also enjoyed how sometimes they interacted, like the bullets killing the bird. I like the in-game instructions on the wall. I was a bit confused in the first level though, because I didn't see the window on the right as a window I should clean, because of the big arrow ;)
Original take on the theme! For the later levels, I think it's good that you dropped the 10 second interval and things happened faster. Sometimes the waiting for the moving thing was a bit boring if all the windows nearby were already clean. It was unclear for me in the beginning why jumping didn't always work, but apparently you can't jump while cleaning. Makes sense I guess, otherwise you would just hold E all the time, but it did confuse me for a moment. I read that you already have a post-jam version. Maybe you could also add some splashes of water while cleaning the window?
In the web version, the music sometimes hangs in transitions between levels or when restarting a level. Might also be because currently my laptop isn't plugged in.
Overall, very well done!
Interesting puzzle game! Fun hexagonal take on minesweeper, with many different and surprising "mines". Nice in-game instructions. I finished all the levels. Playing with my trackpad on my laptop was somewhat challenging. ;)
After this jam, I think this would also be a nice game without the 10 second timer.
Great job!
The game looks gorgeous! Making potions is fun. I like how the explanation and tips are dropped on the table and that we explore the game like this. Dragging everything to the bin is somewhat annoying, but that got better when I switched to a regular mouse. ;)
Although I liked the drawings at the start, restarting the game was a bit slow. And I restarted a few times before remembering what the end goal of the game was. I made it to the end eventually.
It was funny to see how the mess on the table got bigger over time, not unlike my desk sometimes. ;) Sometimes it was a bit hard to get an ingredient into the bottle. I think this game would be very nice with a touch screen..
Very neat game, congrats!
Cute game. Useful bombs. Nice surprise. :)
Cool entry! Original take on the theme.
Good to see some in-game instructions, but I would like a more readable font in the text balloons.
Nice transitions between scenes and good graphics. I was a bit surprised by the red happy emoji and the grey unhappy emoji.
Cool music, sound effects and funny babbling noises.
During my first game I was still carefully comparing all the stickers and stamps, but in the next round I realised that most of the time I only need to look at the sticker and the number of stamps to find the right package. It would be nice to be able to skip the instructions when restarting the game.
After playing twice I wondered if the order was always the same. So I played a third time, trying to remember the first 10-ish packages, and then a fourth time to be as fast as I could. These are the scores of my first and last game:
LD51takeyourshtplease.png
Wow, very cool and addicting! I think I played for almost an hour and a half!
Sometimes, it would mix up the elements in my drawing and colors the wrong way around, but that was fun too:
AIGalleryPainting-2022-10-21_20-33-16.png
I had fun drawing only with the provided stamps:
AIGalleryPainting-2022-10-21_20-45-21.png
But mostly, I enjoyed making abstract colorful drawings and see what the AI does with that. It seems to follow the colors quite well!
AIGalleryPainting-2022-10-21_20-56-52.png
AIGalleryPainting-2022-10-21_20-36-09.png
AIGalleryPainting-2022-10-21_20-55-18.png
Already when I started up the game I got hyped by the music  :musical_note: The graphics are nice and consistent.
The mini games are cute. I especially liked the one with the arrows. The other ones felt more like chores. For the "Click me" task, it was not clear how long you have. I did like how the player's class and sprite changed when distributed the points, but it was not clear what effect that had, if any.
I didn't really get the point of the map/maze, I missed an overall goal. Also, the waves of enemies didn't really seem to matter that much, it didn t matter if I didn't defeat all of them in 10 seconds, so there was no rush to defeat them. The enemies would sometimes get stuck on each other.
I killed 42 enemies before losing on purpose. When I played again, the player still had the old sprite, and no enemies spawned.
Overall, nice job, and especially for a first jam game!
That was fun! I enjoyed the music, it got me hyped to play! Especially when the player character would jump on the beat of the music in the green dimension Once I finished the game the first tim and saw my time (174.9), I played over and over again to try to lower my time as much as possible.
I enjoyed the different dimensions, but the "stairs" and the jump after that towards the end seem (nearly?) impossible with some of the dimensions. The pinkish purple one, where the acceleration is really slow, was my least favorite.
The hit boxes of the dangerous triangles seemed a bit harsh, I always died before I really seemed to touch them.
Awesome LD entry, congrats!
LD51dimensionrusher.png
Nice game! I like abstract games without words. :) I figured almost everything out, except for the green/orange crowns. I had to have a look in the comments for that. I finished the first level and got an orange crown on the second one.
I like the sound scape the game creates.
One small thing: I was confused by zooming in and out on my trackpad, since apparently you have to move two fingers up and down, and now pinch them.
Awesome entry!
@fabula-rasa Thank you for your kind comments! It's nice to hear you enjoyed the puzzles and appreciated the minimal art style. I was indeed planning to program that you can't cross yourself (there is a little start of that, since you can't go backwards if you collect 2 or more polygons), but I didn't have time for that. But you can solve all the puzzles without crossing yourself!
@milq Thanks for your kind feedback! Glad to hear that you liked te game and finished it.
Indeed, I have participated in a team (mostly a team of two) before, but lately I mainly participate solo. I like the extra day, that's why I participate in the jam (also, I am used to that from participating in teams ). Also, this time I had rehearsals on Saturday and Sunday, so I really needed the te (edit: time) on Monday.
@weirdbitgames Thanks for your lovely feedback. I know, the limiting steps can be quite annoying, leading to an abrupt end. I thought about adding different levels of difficulty with a star system (challenging the advanced player to find the 3-star route), but I decided to focus on making the puzzles instead.
Nice game, with nice music! I finished the game after 8 deliveries, did I find them all? :) I like there's feedback on a click, but I was sometimes a bit frustrated getting stuck behind stuff or people.
The graphics are really nice, but the walking animation is a bit funny, maybe because the character is facing "me" in stead of the way he's going. :)
Overall, well done!
Nice entry! I like the 3-move twist. I got to 165 in Hard mode, and 276 in Fair mode.
babydinos.png
Sometimes a goal seemed unreachable and also unclear: at some point I needed 3x 3 blue dinos, but there were only 8 blue dinos in my game. So I was wondering how to do that, but then I noticed that if two goals are the same, they both get crossed out after one match. A goal of matching 5 dinos seemed quite impossible most of the times.
Cool music!
Frantic and fun game! The music hyped me up to keep trying another round.
Like @cheesepencil above, I also was confused about for whom I had pizzas. But apparently, everybody wants the same type of pizza. :)
I was a bit confused by the shop/spacebar action, which I never got to use, I think I got to level 21 once.
Original take on the theme! It is fun to play and then play again to try to improve your highscore. It took me quite a while before I saw the cooldown countdown in the turrets and predator birds. I got to 1349 (with a trackpad). :bird:
I like the graphics, especially the background and the title screen. It would be nice to have some highlights when you hover over an object that you can interact.
Nice choice of music! :musical_note: Since you didn't compose it yourself, you could consider opting out for audio.
---
Edit: with a mouse I got 1358 :) I didn't like so much that the world didn't fit in the screen, and that I often moved the screen around in stead of an object. But it's addicting!
Fun idea! It runs smoothly, but I hated the controls at first though. ;) Firstly, I don't like jumping with space bar, especially not in combination with WASD. At the start, it felt like there wasn't any time to aim with the mouse, so I thought it should have been a button on the keyboard as well. Later, I just ditched the steering with WASD, and just focused on SPACE, E and LMB. That worked better. It actually got a little addictive, trying to get further and further! I got till 257.
I would have liked (two different) sounds when changing packages.
I like the graphics and the color scheme. Well done!
@robonaut121 Thanks for your reply! No problem, we all have lives outside LD ;)
I know, finding nice/logical key bindings is quite a struggle!
Actually I don't play that many games, so I am not so used to WASD with my left hand. But since I have the arrow keys in my head, I would like W to be jumping, so that the keys for moving around are close to each other on the keyboard (this is of course personal taste).
One problem for me was that the E for changing package type is pressed with the same finger as the D for going right. Perhaps that could be RMB? Then all the package dealing is with the right hand. (And that gives more freedom for options for moving around with the other hand, and you could give the player the option to move with the arrow keys.)
What about not aiming at all, but you just have to be close enough to a manhole to deliver a package, and that the package will "autopilot" to the manhole? But maybe that is too boring.
[I know those squashed arrow keys on a laptop, they are horrible! :frowning: I do like the arrow keys on my USB keyboard, they are nicely aligned was well. (While the W in WASD is a bit too much too the left).]
Cute graphics and cool mechanics!
I did find it quite hard to control and to avoid all the flying things. I completed some missions, but it wasn't clear if was starting over all the time or not (because many symbols stay on the compass). But suddenly I won the game!
I kept this tab open since the game looked so cute and Dutch  I finally found some time to play it!
I love the graphics! The buildings are pretty, and it all looks very pleasing to the eye, and very Dutch. :flag_nl: But I only have time to enjoy that in the beginning of the game, or when I made a mistake.
I enjoyed playing the game, and got to 1544 on my third try. The speed is so high in the end, everything just gets blurry! And at those times I would have loved if the arrows where a bit more distinguishable, in color or vertical position.
I think I would have liked that a mistake would only slow the player down a little, in stead of going back to the starting velocity.
Overall, great job!
Cute game with cute graphics!
I was a bit surprised that the boxes started moving diagonally and bouncing all over the place after the first level. I was also surprised that I could move boxes away from the wall by walking closely along it.
Interacting with the green leaves seemed to be a bit funny sometimes, I didn't really have control over them. I think you can create more challenging levels with the mechanics introduced in these levels.
Nice music, but the loop is a bit short.
I had fun, and completed all the levels. Nice entry!
Nice game! Now I want pizza  :pizza:
The driving was a bit funny, but I got the hang of it. A minimap would have been nice, but for now my strategy was to follow the left-most or the right-most roads till the arrow was horizontal ;)
Picking up the pizzas at the pizza parlour was one of the hardest things, because a car can't move sideways. I like that there were different types of pizzas, but for the gameplay that didn't really seem to matter.
The text that showed which house you had to find could have been a bit more clear, also what part of the house counted as the front.
After 27 deliveries I stopped, because it became a little repetitive and too easy.
Cute graphics. Overall, well done!
Nice and calm game!
I like the overall mood/atmosphere, the graphics and the music. I first tried it on my laptop(with a trackpad), but I quickly switched to my phone.
I tried some of the patterns, but found it quite tedious. Then I tried the endless mode for a bit. When I returned to the home screen and came back to the game, I had to start from the first pattern again, which prompted me to stop playing. I think I would prefer real-life weaving more.
I had a lot of fun playing this game! Quite addictive, trying to get in to the highscores board. I got to 10705. The goblin is cute and the packages and their replacement gifts are funny
Instruction + tutorial felt a bit double, but it's nice that you included them.
Sometimes I would have the package selected after I filled it with a replacement, and sometimes not. I couldn't find out yet when what happened. This was sometimes a bit frustrating. Maybe it would be nice to highlight the package that the player selected?
Cute art style + nice music + fun gameplay = great entry!
Nice idea, but the controls felt a bit clunky. It was hard to get the letters where I wanted them, but maybe that was because it is embedded. The download link doesn't work for me. I once turned a letter by accident, but it took me quite a while to reproduce this trick. The stamps seem to be a different color in the explanation than in the actual game. I would have liked to see a score when I was game over.
I like the scales and that the other objects also had a mass
I like the tune, although it's a bit short.
Hehe, you wrote a lot of little stories! I like the graphics, but it lacked some gameplay for me.
Nice entry, with very cool graphics!
The bombs on the decks don't seem to do much damage, except to the player character when it's too near. Or am I missing something? The gameover was often a surprise. I didn't see any "health" indication.
It's nice that you can jump into the mast of the ship, but I didn't see any use for it in the game (as far as I got).
The music is epic!
Original game! I enjoyed playing and finished all the levels. I like how the planets and moons look, but some of them move strangely!  Original take on the theme, well done!
LD54BoxSurvival.png
Fun little game! I like abstract games.
I also didn't notice at first that the area was shrinking. On my second run I noticed that the orbs were aiming at a spot where I was before, so I could more easily predict what would happen. I like the color palette of the orbs.
Well done :)
Nice game, well done! I enjoyed playing it :)
I also like the improvements of the graphics in the Post Compo version. I think the act of sinking a car (and hence losing a life) could be made more visual. Maybe you can show the car still for a bit (shrinking) when the water is already there, and highlighting/enlarging the number of lives for a bit.
@primed-pixel Thank you for your kind feedback!
Themewise, it is indeed a bit of an abstract interpretation. Often we consider space to be 3D, so I thought: let's try to make a 1-dimensional game! In the end, you could argue it is still a 2D game, but as a player you only really have one line that you can follow (albeit a line with turns and funny patches with speed limits), so the moving space of the player is limited.
----
@flying-butter-studio Awesome! Well done, it is not easy  Thanks for your comment
@fabula-rasa Thank you for your kind comments and feedback, as always! :star:
I am sure that if you retry level 1 and go at speed 20, you would be able to get a star! Haha yes, I thought about showing the number of "deaths" as well.
I can't seem to reproduce the bug you mention. Also level three doesn't start with a green speed limit but with a red one (after an arrow that shows you the way).
@fabula-rasa Aaah, sorry, I didn't read carefully enough. Now I could reproduce it! Thanks for the screenshot. The problem was that in the tileset, this tile was mislabeled as "normal". I fixed the bug, so that future players have a little extra challenge.
@nusan Thanks for your feedback! In the beginning I thought the controls were funny, but now in the end I think that maybe just holding the arrow keys down for accelartion would have been better, cause the controls are now causing painful arms! Maybe I'll try other controls in a Post-Compo version of the game later.
@gamedevjeroen Haha, dankjewel! :smile:
@kjip Thanks for your comment! I chose a color palette that I liked, but I guess everyone likes different art styles. Which colors distract you the most? The background circles or maybe the colors of the player?
@lachlan-james Thanks for playing and your elaborate feedback! I was indeed pondering if I should zoom out a little bit more, or if I can do something else camera-wise such that you can see more of the path ahead. Maybe I will try it in a Post Compo version. In the current Post Compo version I changed the controls a bit: holding keys down will also speed you up or slow you down, so you have to spam the keys less, because my arm starting hurting
@tucan Thanks for playing and your feedback. β€οΈ Very well done getting to the end! π₯³πͺ
LD_Pio.png
Yay, I did it! It was a bit unclear sometimes when I could or couldn't eat, or why something went wrong, but I got the hang of it eventually. :)
Funny original mechanics, with some fun challenging levels. I enjoyed the level with the many eagles and the 1x1 tiles. I managed to finish it without eating any!
Congrats with your great scores! It is a very innovative game, and it was fun to play!
What a great entry! :star:
I really loved the theatre setup, with the other ducks carying the decor around, that was very cute, funny and original! I managed to solve the mystery, although my character got invisible after I got into a fight outside. :ghost:
The music and graphics are perfect. Very well done!
Very cool and original game! Very well done  I enjoyed it very much. I wish there were more levels! I didn't find the levels very challenging, except for one jump in the last level. That's always tricky, combining a puzzle game with challenging mechanics.
For the controls I would have liked to be able to use up/W for jump. I also would like a button to just undo the fold I made, so I don't have to drag it back.
Overall, very good job, and I hope to see more levels in the future!
I like the art work of the main character. I found the pink flying things hard to avoid, and I was wishing I could shoot backwards. It took me a while and a rereading of the "how to play" to see what the space bar did. The difference is not immediately visually noticable. Perhaps you could add some other visual change to signal that the space bar is doing something; change a color somehwere or give Kelly a different facial expression?
The music is funny and creepy at the same time, but also a bit uncomfortable with the off beats blips.
I managed to get to the end of a few facilities.
Well done!
I did it! Finally!
I enjoyed playing this little gem. It's quite hard with the hitboxes and the darkness, but it's very addictive! After many tries I finally survived for 5 minutes, was surprised it wasn't over but still managed to finish the game on that try. I really enjoyed the cheerful music after finishing the game. That's a relief! Haha
Original game with cool mechanics!
Awesome game!
We were a little confused in the beginning, but slowly we got to get it, and managed to win the game after an hour of playing.
Cool music, nice graphics and fun gameplay. Well done!
Fun little game! Well done :)
Nice entry!
I completed all levels, but was confused by the lasers. It seemed by punching I could either dodge those particular squares in front of the laser, or the laser shot the alien (most of the time?).
I think I would have preferred keyboard controls (left right, forward and a special key (=space?) for a punch) over mouse controls, or have them both as an option. But I did like how the three buttons respond to hovering and clicking, but I missed that button feedback for the restart button.
I think it would be fun if the game somehow got faster and faster, punching and kicking aliens around to get to the end!
Overall, well done!
Awesome graphics!
I liked the different funny items to choose from.
Gameplay was ok, it got a bit repetitive, all the levels were practically the same. I also sometimes had a problem with the slightly overlapping columns, resulting in some misclicks.
I'd prefer if the dialogue was a bit quicker, or that I didn't have to wait for it/click it away before continuing.
Overall, well done!
Wow, really cool game, with very creative mechanics and original take on the theme!
I really like the player animations, especially when jumping or burning.
But wow, I am very happy that I am not a paper princess caught in a ring of fire! I am too impatient, and it gave me a lot of stress, having to be so careful. It was quite frustrating sometimes, because it was not enough just to be careful! Sometimes there were unpredictable situations: a deeper fall or an unpredictable enemy. In those cases it felt often unfair that I had to start all over again. Some checkpoints would have been nice, since the levels are quite long for such a unforgiving game.
I generally don't like jumping with space, and would have like to use the up arrow for this. Also, sometimes on the edges of a platform jumping didn't seem to work, while it looks like the player character is still somewhat on the platform.
Level 2 took me very long. At some point I was quite frustrated, but later I started to like the mechanics more again, developing some speedrun tactics for certain parts. Eventually I found a way to skip the first bit of level 2 by going to the right immediately at the start at the right timing of the growing of the ring of fire.
But... I did it!
LD_FireBounded.PNG
Overall, very well done!
Nice game! My only complaint is that it was too short.
I like the modern take on the Towers of Hanoi puzzle, and it fits the theme very well! Well done!
I am now a real programmer! ;)
I completed some letters, but sometimes it was not clear why it wasn't complete yet.
The gameplay isn't the most fun, but I enjoyed the manual and I like the esthetics of the game!
Very fund and addictive game with catchy music!
Cool that you implemented a scoreboard! At first I thought, how do people get such high scores :open_mouth: Until I discovered the warp, haha. It was nice to notice that gradually I got better at the game.
It was a little bit annoying to steer the rocket, since 'feathering' the fuel was not really an economic option but it was also funny. I would have liked it if the game would remember the name that I put in, so I wouldn't have to fill it in every time I broke my own record.
Creative take on the theme and cool visual effects!
Very creative game! I enjoyed seeing them dance to the music. Although I have some experience with waltzing, I found the game quite hard. After a few tries, my high score was only 27 ;)
The "fires" were too unpredictable, so I decided to just ignore them.
Would have been be fun to play some levels with some faster waltzes as well!
Fun game with original mechanics! I enjoyed playing and got to the "endless" level. I liked the different shapes that could be used to find a safe place.
It was rather easy to play, since there was no rush - one could just take it one obstacle at a time. Perhaps it would have been fun if some things would get progressively faster or if there was a timer of some sort. Or, perhaps something could chase you from the bottom of the screen as well! :open_mouth:
Anyway, well done!
Fun game! I enjoyed playing, and I think I finished all the levels (twice, I got to a black screen and wasn't sure if it crashed so I started over till I found the black screen again).
I liked the in-game tutorial and the gradual introduction of the game elements.
The squares with the arrows were a bit confusing, since they point in one fixed direction, while the action is that it shoots you further in the direction you are going. Maybe four outward points arrows would be clearer?
I think the timers would be less distracting if the numbers were formatted with always the same amount of decimals.
The later levels get somewhat confusing, it's hard to get an overview. But if was fun to speed around, discovering different pathways. Some levels I suddenly finished without knowing how or why. Unfortunately the levels don't have numbers, but these were the later levels with the big jumps (On the second run I paid more attention and saw a flash of a yellow square.)
Overall, original concept! Well done!
Nice artwork and story! Not so many choices to make, but that's quite understandable. Good job!
Very original combination of different game mechanics! I played a couple of times and managed to finish all the difficulty levels. :confetti_ball: I was really tempted to take notes, but didn't in the end.
I wonder if the game would be even more fun without the memory aspect, so that there is more room for planning ahead. I can imagine that the numbers would then change after an entity landed on it (or when used) to mix the numbers up a little bit during the game. And perhaps substraction and multiplication could be used at some point as well! Overall: nice entry, well done!
Hehe, so you created both a little game Γ‘nd a replicator! Very original idea, fun to play with.
I liked the graphics of when the replica was being calculated. I really noticed that the more steps it had to process, the longer it took. The Menu button was sometimes covering a coin.
I tested making different replicas. One that only walked in tiny circles, and the replica indeed copied it! And one that avoided all coins. Haha, I had fun!
That was so much fun! A classic game with a very fun twist of collecting different upgrades. I liked that I had to chose which upgrades I would collect to build cool helpers. I managed to win the game
Well done!
@xry Thank you so much! Level #5 was indeed the kind of puzzle level that I was planning to make more of (together with more shapes summoning things), but time flies during Ludum Dare!
@fabula-rasa As always, thank you for your kind and generous feedback!
@adrien-tremblay Thanks for playing my game in your stream! It's always fun to see how people play your game and what the difficulties are. :)
@jordantanner Thanks for playing and your lovely comment! I do enjoy letting the player figure out the game mechanics by themselves, but it's always a little bit of a guess if it then turns out to be too hard/unclear. And yes, I have enjoyed years of piano lessons when I was younger, and I am now learning the flute. :)
@sstyles93 Thanks! Nice that someone enjoyed the step counter, I almost took it out! (I wanted to give one, two or three stars depending on the step count, but I ran out of time.) Did you try to minimize your steps?
@footlettuce Haha, thanks for the meme  and for the nice comment!
@gawain-doell Thanks for your comment! I am glad you liked that you had to figure out the mechanics your own through the level design. In level 7 there are ways to 'paint yourself into a corner', but indeed in the other levels your steps are sort of reversible. The original idea was to have more different kind of shapes summoning different kind of help, maybe I will indeed expand on it after LD.
@yoyoj Such an honour! :heart:
@mar-zockmeister Thanks for your comment! About the keyboard controls; I haven't experienced that myself yet. May I ask what browser you are using? I only tested in Chrome on Windows so far. Also, the player walks on a grid, maybe that's a bit confusing when the player walks fast.
@marleeeeeey Thanks for your comment! I will look into how to get a loading bar showing up.
@mxbi Thank you so much for your kind comment! The original plan indeed included several shapes, each one summoning different kind of help. But I was very limited in time (like everyone) this Ludum Dare due to social obligations on Saturday and Sunday, so I settled for just one shape. What part reminded you of Baba is You?
@sstyles93 I see! I think I will at least add the step counts to the last screen in a post-jam version, so the people who like it can try to minimize. :)
@artmuse62 Thanks for you kind comment!
@euler-moises I am glad you figured it out by yourself! I like making games that don't have any text/explanation, so I have to try to make the levels such that it becomes clear what needs to be done by trial and error. I personally like the feeling of discovering/exploring the game mechanics. But it is always a risk that people give up before they figured out the basic. Thanks for playing and your comment!
Aii, so many instructions, with some being unclear or incomplete: so many things that can go wrong! It took me quite some tries, in the end I used Google Translate to find the right words. ;) But in the end I finally managed to summon the deamon! It was a pity that the book covered the spirits that I summoned. Fun take on the theme. :)
Nice game! It's a pity that the retry button doesn't work in the web version, so I had to reload the page every time I wanted to play again. I played a couple of times, but with a working retry and score in the end, I would have played even more!
My strategy was to direct all slimies into the middle lane and put all my traps there.
Well done!
The little demons are so cute! I love how they all have their own power. The graphics and sounds are awesome!
Level 8 stumped me for a while, but then I found the solution. The controls are a bit funny, which made that I had to try several times the whole setup for level 8 before succeeding. The spikes are very harsh (also from the sides). I would have loved to be able to use up arrow for jumping.
Overall: fantastic game!
Showed your game to my boyfriend and we found an alternative solution for level 8! mylittledemons.png
Oooh birds, I like birds! Original game idea, and awesome that you can play it on a phone. My highscore was 4.60 on my phone and 4.83 on my laptop (with trackpad). Really cute, but somehow I did miss some more gameplay elements. Like maybe remembering the sound shapes?
Good job!
The first notes of the Sirtaki already brought a smile to my face, but then when the voters came waddling in I had to laugh out loud haha. I also like how happy the little men become when selected and the weird voice acting. Had a lot of fun, while singing the rules of the current vote to the music. It could take quite a while before the first voter in the right outfit would show up. The stages were a bit too long, and I wish they would get faster when I got further. I got to stage 11, and then decided I should get back to work. ;)
Overall, well done!
Nice game! The music is well chosen and the graphics are really nice!
I enjoyed playing the game! I only got to level 4, where I got defeated. Unfortunately, I had to start from the first level again. On replay, the game got stuck in one of the moves of the enemy... My highscore was 660.
A_clash_of_horns.png
Nice game! At first I was quite confused what was actually happening and kept losing quickly. I didn't understand that the health bars belonged to the houses, I thought they belonged to my minions, hehe. Once I got the hang of it, it was quite fun t summon minions, hide behind them while the fight for me and then collecting all the 'rewards'! And then suddenly the game ended, I won! I didn't really see why, so I played it again (and then I saw it).
Art and music are both very nice. I had fun playing it. Overall, well done!
Haha, I enjoyed playing the game. I was always curious what the result would be. Some answers were a bit weird in the sense that the suddenly talked about a third object or person, but I understand now that AI was involved. ;)
Overall, well done!
I love the facial expressions of Rosemary
First I tried playing the HTML version, but the showing of the moves was somehow really slow. After failing a few times, I decided to download the .exe file. That worked much better, and I managed to win the game!
The different sounds with the different directions really helped. But I would have liked to visaully see the difference between listening/learning and when it is time to copy the moves.
Art style is cute and the music is awesome (did you make it yourself during the jam?). Well done!
Nice, I had fun playing it, and found the end! I liked the small hints and puzzles.
Well done!
Nice puzzle game! I was a bit surprised that the puzzles didn't have a unique solution. It was a fun twist with the skull of 2 points and the blood chalice. My main strategy was greedy: start with the skulls at high numbers and in the end move some things around to fix the last numbers.
I like that you took the effort drawing different demon faces, even though they only have a short appearance.
Overall, well done!
Cool voice acting and cute graphics. I like the songs and the patterns we had to play along with it. I was a bit distracted by the flute sounding a bit flat to my ears, making me think I hit the wrong key all the time. But the audio does nicely fit the frog theme!
I tried a couple of times, and now my hand hurts haha ;) And it just started raining here!
Well done!
Haha, this game made me giggle. Cute sound effects with cute pets! I got 23 points on my first try, but only 20 points on my second try. I enjoyed the intro and the gameplay, although it was a bit short.
I had fun playing! I mainly enjoyed coming up with words. Moving them around in the grid to make space for new words was somewhat cumbersome. Fun to see Word2Vec in a Ludum Dare game!
The input worked well, although sometimes when I entered a letter I would suddenly fill the whole row or column with WWWWWWW. ;) I would have liked to be able to do all the editing with my keyboard, so that I don't have to switch between keyboard and mouse all the time.
I like that there is an in-game explanation of how the game works, but all that text looks a bit messy, being centered, slanted and different sizes. The graphics are efficient, but sticking to a color scheme might help to make the look more cohesive.
It's funny how sometimes I got the #1 word, but other times I was very far off. The highest level I reached was level 6. I would have liked to be able to go back to the level that I reached, in stead of starting from level 1 again.
Overall, good game!
Such a sweet game! :candy: The graphics are really nice and cohesive within a color palette. The music is cool as well! I enjoyed the backstory and the flying carrots as arrows. I like that there are different sweets to choose from each level. I like that the instructions are gradually given, but I missed some of that at the start.
Well done!
Very cool idea! I liked that I could destroy the level around me. However, the controls were a bit funny (on my computer at least). Sometimes it seemed as if some of my keys got stuck, and the character would keep moving in a certain direction. I managed to complete level 2 somehow, but never level 1.
I saw your post on the homepage and decided to play. Very cool game, congrats! I managed to get to the end, it was quite an adventure. Innovative mechanics, and cool puzzle design!
LDscreenshotWin.png
I didn't expect to win, but somehow I did! My second try ended in a tie. It reminds me of the kids card game 'quartets'. :) Nice graphics and dialogue. Well done!
Cool, a 3D game! I like the big mushroom.
I found that it was quite a lot of BIG text to start with without visuals, and I accidentally skipped some of it. I didn't like that I had to click the ingredients to collect them. Also, something was off with the mouse coordinates, as I have to click not on the ingredient, but some way to the top-left of it. Once I figured that out, I managed to cook a potion, but was then unable to deliver it to the mushroom mom, since that meant that I had to click outside of the game due to the funny coordinate problem.
I tried downloading the game, but that didn't work since the link seems empty?
So cute! I love the soft 3D graphics and pastel colors, as if everything was made from fondant/candy. I loved it when it was happily shaking its tail after completing a level. Very nice how the color of the caterpillar changes depending on what it ate.
There was a moment where the hood of a mushroom was still floating in the air because I already ate the base, but I somehow managed to eat in the end.
Very well done!
Very original game! :clap_tone1:
But also quite confusing at first, because it's such a new mechanic. Some more visual clues about what the goal is and why the attempt failed would be nice, for example by highlighting the symbol of the hour glass, the goal or piece count in red or shaking it.
At first I thought the tiny creatures would also attack the white edge even if it wasn't growing, so I was frantically moving the white edge around to avoid them, until I found at that this was not the case.
I had to get used to the gameplay, but the it really grew on me, and I enjoyed finding the space between the creatures to grow. I liked the shapes I was making. I would of course try to wait till the very last moment to stop growing a piece, but often I continued a little bit too long
I found the sun! :sunny:
@coopizcool Thanks for playing and commenting! You got pretty far then, well done!
I know the game is very hard, and that can be either frustrating or funny, haha
@dining-philosopher Nice scores! :clap_tone1: And thanks for your kind comment
Thanks for the bug report, I fixed the issue with getting the score of level 7!
@fnelix Haha yes, the game looks easier than it is  Thanks for playing and the nice comment!
@fabula-rasa Thank you very much for your lovely comment and kind words! I know, it's deceivingly hard... I hope you had some fun and were not only frustrated haha
@tgnics Thank you so much for playing and commenting! It's quite impressive that you got the first 6 levels!
@slay-a-stone Thank you for your kind words! Haha, as long as it's the good kind of frustrating I guess  Maybe it's more fun when it's your own 'fault' than when the game is unfair?
@nohopeoutthere I know it's slow to load and it doesn't show you anything. I spent quite some time on trying to get a loading screen to work, but that didn't work out... Thanks for being patient though! I guess I like making games that look easy but are quite hard haha
@kaspjej Indeed, you have to get used to the controls. Thanks for playing and commenting!
@kutaryoushinkoku Oh wow, thank you for engaging for so long and your lovely comment! It's indeed a very difficult game. Thanks for trying to speedrun the levels, because then I didn't add the times for no reason hehe  I noticed that it's also very nerve wracking to see someone else try level 7, it's so unpredicatble what the next move is, haha! Also, my hand is also still painful from all the playtesting :see_no_evil: Let me know how far/fast you and your friends get!
@kobato-games Hi! Hmmm, the bug should always move, either going right or going left. When you press left or right, you should start turning left or right, you don't have to hold the keys down. Might I ask in what browser you are playing? I've only tested it in Chrome so far.
Edit: also tested in Firefox now on my work laptop, and it seems to work there. But I can imagine it doesn't work on macs, since that happened before with a Godot game of mine...
@jk5000 Thanks for playing and commenting! Yes it's quite difficult. Maybe I should make several difficulty levels :)
@kuggenhoffen Nice job getting to level 6! I hope it was not just frustrating but also fun? Thanks for playing and commenting!
@n-lan Thanks for playing and commenting! How far did you get? I hope you had fun :)
@n-lan Nice, that's pretty far already!
Haha, how the 'pleeeeeaaaaassssse' was moving. Cute game, with cute graphics. Maybe a little bit too much text, but I enjoyed playing it. Impressive that you made multiple mini games!
Nice music and song! I was wondering if you made all the sound effects yourselves as well?
Well done!
Nice game! I was a little bit confused at the start, but I managed to figure it out and finished the game. The second time I played it, it was already much easier to understand and win. There was one hover over explanation, and I think it would have been nice to have some more of them, as well as even more graphical clues which cards are playable/selectable. Funny names of cards and nice graphics.
Well done!
Cute! I like the graphics.
As @coderaurus said, I think you should opt-out for the audio category, although you it chose well and it adds to the mood
I love the choice of music, that really kept me going! I got to level 5 before I gave up. I would have liked to be able to select the different buttons with the number keys. Well done!
Cute defense game! I was quite bad at it at first, but slowly got better and better. Quite addictive, got to wave 10! I like the cute art.
I would have liked if the energy blobs were easier to see (often they would fall behind some character) and easier to click (they are quite small!) Sometimes an enery orb would land outside the playing area, and was even harder to click. Maybe just moving your mouse nearby could be anough to collect the orbs?
Big fan of mr. T, very useful.
Great job!
Edit: also played the Post-Compo version and got to Wave 22! Here's a screenshot just before the end...
Schermafbeelding 2024-10-26 025229.png
Sooo cute! Both the in-game art as well as the cover art are lovely  Epic music choice as well!
Very nice that you provided an in-game tutorial, a help button and a menu! Somehow I was confused where to find the HP of my characters for the first levels. I am still a bit confused as how to know how far my creatures (or those of the other team) could reach with their attacks or which 'skill' could summon more creatures.
I managed to finish the game! :mouse: :chestnut:
Well done, great job again!
@civmaniac I did notice that after a while, but I was unsure what the word 'ranged' meant ;)
Very original! The game looks nice, I like the little sandy winds rolling over the floor. The music is great and the colors are pleasing. I missed some more gameplay/goal and the digging could use some particles. I haven't figured out how the dinosaurs would help digging. Cool 3D models of the dinosaurs!
Cute! Would be fun to be able to make a platformer game in which you can rotate pieces of the level like thi,s before or while you are playing a level.
Very original game! I enjoyed playing it, and played a few times. I wish I could skip the cut scenes from the second time onwards though. Nice graphics, and the controls are smooth. When I could selected the difficulty, I kind of expected the music to change accordingly. The music was nice, but could use some more flute! I liked how there were more and more squeeky sounds as I gathered more rats behind me. I like how there are musical notes surrounding the player.
Well done! :musical_note:
I like the idea and how it looks! I didn't like the controls, but I am also not used to playing 3D games. My mouse was blocked by the edge of the screen, so I couldn't turn far enough to comfortably navigate. I like the graphics, the sun is really beautiful. I enjoyed singing/bzzing songs to make the bee fly. Together with my boyfriend we finally managed to find the flowers and the end of the game.
Very original game! The music is cool and all the tiny creatures creating the levels are nice. I like that there are many small levels with checkpoints. You made a lot of content!
I got stuck quite a few times, because I didn't know what my options were.
The controls/jumping could be improved a little bit. Often the interactions with the surroundings felt somewhat unpredictable, like the creature that should make you jump. Sometimes I got stuck to it, and sometimes not. And also the part where I had to jump from fly to fly felt too random.
Overall, well done!
Fun and original game! I really like the concept of combining the ammo, the health and the player character in one. I enjoyed playing, although I wasn't sure what counted as a combo. I found the birds really annoying haha!
Well done!
ld56_ballban.png
Interesting mechanics! Not sure why I am killing the bunnies. ;) After a while it felt a bit tedious to use quite a few mouse actions to just walk a few tiles. I enjoyed that I could buy new dice Buying new dice! :game_die: At some point it seemed I lost a die while dragging, and I couldn't proceed in the room. :(
I like the concept a lot! I like all the wind layers. I first made 10 deliveries in normal mode. Then I tried Hot Air Balloon mode, which I also enjoyed! Then it's a little bit more of a puzzle to get to the correct side of the destination so that you can ride the wind into it. I wish I could move up and down (/change layers) a bit faster. And in Hot Air Balloon mode, I'd prefer up and down arrows over the mouse.
I liked the graphics, with all the different stations that we visited. I did miss some background, to give even more sense of moving. I liked the audio as well!
Well done
Interesting concept, but I found the controls too hard. I sometimes found it hard to see which I was going, especially if there was no blue wall in sight. In that case it would be nice to see the background scrolling behind the player, indicating the player is going the other way.
I managed to finish the game! Even though it was not clear to me where/when the end of the level would be, so it always came as a surprise.
I like the ocean colors and the background music, although I think I would pick a different instrument for the melody, or at least I would make it a little less loud compared to the rest.
Overall, nice entry!
@disvent Thank you for your kind comment, and well done on finishing the game!
@spacecadet Thanks for your feedback! Indeed, more jump-levels would have been fun, but you know, time constraints
@belle Thank you for your lovely comment! And well done on finishing the game!
@simon-rahnasto Thank you for your lovely long comment! Nice to see some speedrunning going on! By the way, you can do levels 5 and 6 without jumping.
@milq Thank you for your nice comment! I haven't gotten to playing games myself yet, so that's why I didn't receive many ratings yet.
About the theme: Think about accidently dropping your key in a pit with a grid, and you're trying to magnet-fish to get your key from down below. ;) So I see the top circle as the player, trying to manouvre the lower circle in such a manner that you can get the things you want from the depths below.
@anton-florey Thank you for your nice comment! Indeed, the platform behaviour of the top circle could use some improvements. I will try to improve it Post Compo
@dzejpi Thank you for your nice comments! In level 3, the dog was intentional, but the rest is your imagination haha!
@irwatts Thanks! Yes, the colors turned out quite vibrant. I noticed that the web export looks different than what I was seeing in Godot, but didn't have time anymore to fix it.
@gquibao Thank you! For the jumps, you still need to make the rope as short as possible.
@shane-gadsby Thank you! I also watched some rope-making tutorials, but then during the jam
Such a long way down, but I found the end! I liked that there were different ways to go, and that often you couldn't go back, but there was always a way forward. Sometimes I wish the camera was a bit lower, to see more of where I was going. I like the animation of the swirling arms and how I could smash the blocks to pieces. The platforming mechanics worked well. Perhaps you could map more keys to jump/left/right, so that the player can choose to use WASD or arrow keys, and up or space for jump.
Overall, I enjoyed playing your game. Well done!
Cute and original game! There is even a shop included!
The moving/jumping mechanics could use some improvements. Often I got stuck in a jump mid-air, stuck to a wall. But I could also use it for some sneaky wall-jumps  After the shop,I was surprised that my portal spell charge was suddenly negative, even if I had 4 left after the first run.
I didn't get why I had to send the ore and myself separately up to the surface. At some point I collected 150 coins, but I didn't know if I could use them for something, or wheter there was an end to the game.
But anyhow, overall, well done!
Wow, so much voice acting content! Lovely voices. Creative way to string the words together in this way, although it was not really challenging to swim in the right lane.
It was a pity that often the text I collected didn't fit in the dialogue box.
The funniest game I played so far this LD! Well done!
Fun game! It took me a while to figure out what the mission was, I was just digging away. :) I would have like some hover over information on the icons. I finished the first mission. I wish there was a safe point after that, so I can try mission 2 without doing mission 1 again. Nice graphics!
Cute game! I played a few times, because I was curious would I would find in the ground. I liked how it gradually got darker. However, I found it quite tedious starting all the way from the start again every time. I managed to get to level 22.
I think it would be nice to visually highlight the block that is currently hittable. Also, some feedback on the play button would be nice, like the cursor changing, the text changing color and maybe even removing the button once clicked.
Cute graphics and nice sounds. Well done!
Haha, I love the sound effects! Nice little game, especially for only 6 hours! :open_mouth: I managed to reel in at least one fish per color. :) I wish I didn't have to use the mouse to retry (when I'm not buying upgrades), but maybe that's personal. Well done!
Haha, what a fun take on the theme! I loved all the different bags, hands and items. The graphics are really nice. Fun background music, albeit a bit repetitive. Sometimes the control of the hand felt a bit less responsive. I made it to the end, but I have thrown out many objects, haha.
Handbag Havoc.png
Nice little game! I would have liked some sound effect or visual effect to show that the player (or a bat for that matter) has been hit. The hearts disappeared too quietly in the corner ;) I assumed that each level had a checkpoint, and so I was shocked to be sent back completely to the start when I was gameover in what later turned out to be the penultimate level. The second time I managed to win the game :)
Well done! Into the cave.png
Cute game  Hehe, the mouse is walking upright, nice animation!
It was exciting to walk over the mouse trap, to see what it does, and noticing I was just fast enough :D But not always? Sometimes the z-values were a bit mixed up. With the boxes I expected a different hitbox, so that I could walk behind them.
I was a bit confused if there was an end to the game. I looped through the levels a few times, and also fed quite some cheese to the other mouse.
Overall, well done! :D
Original idea! It's like a speedy 'tower of pisa' game. I really like how the game looks with the different sharp items  But some of the items stacked a bit funnily, espcially the one consisting of two separate parts  I was somewhat confused of what to do. Had to read some of the comments first. Then I managed once to get to the end. :crossed_swords:
Interesting deep sea cookie clicker! I like the mood. Also, I enjoyed the sounds out-of-breath sounds, signalling that the player is almost out of oxygen and should get back to the safe station. The instructions were clear. Sometimes, trying to harvest the fruits made the collecting noise but I didn't actually collect them. I guess that meant the fruits weren't ripe yet. I wished I could see which ones were ripe.
On my first run, I managed to get to the end. I didn't notice I had spent already 15 minutes!
RootedDeep1.png
On my second try, to see if I could speedrun it a bit more, I was transported far away suddenly, but that did mean I saw the other ending as well.
I didn't use swimming up and down that much on my first runs, so in my last run, I just planted everything really close to the safe station and collected by swimming above the plants. I didn't buy any upgrades, and got to the end much quicker this time
RootedDeep2.png
Overall, well done!
Wow, great game, with so much content! I like the getting in and out of the water scene, and the swimming around is really fun! And it looks beautiful under water, and the different types of fish are also wonderful. Well done! Also, somehow I find it really funny to ring the bell before I jump in the word again, haha.
The shop is awesome, with all the fun items to discover there. I bought all of it, and as a last thing also the trophy! Very polished!
Interesting mechanics! But very hard haha  I found all the stairs very frustrating. In general, I found it very hard to predict where I was going. I like the idea of someone in the comments here to use the mouse to aim in stead.
I got to the big jump, and got too frustrated to continue after 3 failed attempts. :stuck_out_tongue: I wish there was another checkpoint there, then I would have retried the big jump more often. I see in the speedruns the jump looks way easier there. My jumps really didn't go that far haha. (Playing in Chrome, not too fast computer). Also, Apparently I only saw a fraction of the game!
Overall, good game! Cool mechanics, nice graphics. Congrats on a fantastic first compo game!
Fun mechanics to play with! Some obstacles were a bit small and dark. It was fun to try to jump to a level below, butalso a bit unpredictable how I would land. After quite a few tries, I got to the finish with a combination of rolling and falling down in 1:06,02
Well done! :)
Wow, that was so much fun! I really love the watercolor graphics, and the music fits very well! It's a joy to just watch the black hole pinball machine in action, even without trying to interact. :)
Very well done! <3
On one attempt, while charging, I managed to hit a cheese and a lot of its cheese babies, and got in instant high score that I never beat with normal play:
Asteronaut.png
Interesting, a sort of educational game about how deep the trench is. I like how the sonar is showing the surrounding edges piece by piece. Little jump scare in the end haha. Well done :)
First of all, I love the animation of the throwing the fishing line! Also the waves on top are very cute. I liked the bubbles in the background, which gave some refrence for where we are moving. As for a Post-LD version, I can totally imagine each fish having it's own sounds/music to which you tap the keys.
I also had some crashes unfortunately, I am glad you made the update to save the player's progress. At first I thought I had to also avoid all the non-fish things floating around. Often I wished I could move the hook up and down as well, to catch some of the more rare fish. I played for far too long, trying to catch all the different kind of fish. I was wondering if there was an end to the game?
Well done!
Interesting take on the theme! I like how each level has its own background and music, changing the vibe. I like how the eyes went red at a certain level. But the music is a bit too monotonous, and doesn't always loop very well. From the intro and the drawing of the king I expected some limbs to grow, but that never happened? I found the first level/floor to take a bit too long. For me, it was not clear what the consequences of my choices were. I reached the end, but not sure how good or bad it is. I would play again, if the footsteps wouldn't take so long each time.
DeepCrown.png
Cool sound effects and screen shake when going fast! Fits the theme, but I wish I didn't have to press E that many times. :) Fun graphics. Although it confused me a bit at first, I enjoyed bouncing around on the bugs. The game mechanics work well.
Well done!
Haha lol
Skibidi-dub-dub-dub-yes-yes!
Fun twist on Tetris!
I was a bit confused at the start which blocks would disappear; I think I would have liked to see the shape in the end location for a tiny moment before the earth blocks disappear. To make it more clear that the block continues until it's fully covered. Once I got that, I got to 39 meters. I would have liked it if up arrow would also mean turning the piece, since I am used to that
Fun retro looks and sounds. Well done!
----
Update: I played once more and got to 41! Also, I just realised the name of the game is Tetris spelled backwards, hahaha
Sirtet.png
Fun game with a creative game mechanic! I played a few times and got to 10 collections. Fun voice acting
AuctionAntics10.png
Congrats with your scores on this brilliant cute game! It was fun to play :)
Yup, we were too greedy. Second round we agreed to fish only at 3 places at a time (2 players), and then we had a winner (both 200+ actually). I think it would be cool to play with strangers!
Brilliant! Nice mechanic, great puzzles, good tutorial, nice music with subtle change when switching between Toodee and Topdee.
Great game, but whoah, that was difficult! After a few tries, I got to 105 points. It would be nice to see your score during the game, to see how you are doing and how many points you get for a combination. I liked that I could do different kind of things. Changing weapons + steering with left was a bit stressful. Maybe steering with arrow keys, shooting with space bar, and changing weapons with some letters & numbers would be more natural for me. Overall, well done!
Nice concept! The gameplay lacked a bit of excitement though. Nice music!
I got really nervous walking around, which objects will suddenly come to life? I am not used to playing 3D FPS games, so I was pretty bad at it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: But awesome job, the graphics and music are really cool!
Wow, great game! I loved playing it and solved all the levels. :) Well done!
Your game looks really pretty! I played the web version, and I had trouble with the controls, in panic I often bumped into myself in a short loop, because it seemed that I kept turning even after I released the arrow keys. But I managed to get 65100 points once. :)
Nice game! I liked the different songs. I found the timing quite hard, although the stick seems to indicate it quite clearly. I guess both my rhythm skills and typing skills need some practice. ;)
We had fun! :D We enjoyed the graphics and the music. Relaxing and stressful at the same time.
@slashie @the_noffs @kumabotz @Fenderbate @spenn @Jaime-paz-lopes @yubs: Thank you all for playing and commenting! :heart:
@BoltKey: Thanks! We started off programming for more players, but we decided to go with two players to make it easier for us to code. ;) And I guess it would get quite crowded on the keyboard!
@krunoslav: some AI would be indeed fun, but it is even more fun to play with someone else.
@daanvanyperen: Bop bopbopbop bop BOP BOP! :musical_note: Thanks ;)
@GenTel: Thanks! The collision depends on the directions the bots are going (using inner products), but this can certainly be improved.
Weirdly addicting! Currently on wave 42 (with 8k+ of all resources) and still going strong! The blobs don't stand a chance. Not sure what 'enemies left' really means though. And it almost always seems to go up or down 2 at a time.
That was fun! I found out that 'jump' is a hard word for me to type. Congrats on your scores!
Nice concept, graphics and music! After I discovered how I should play, I was a bit overwhelmed by the great number of enemies in combination with the fact that I could not use my weapons very long. Some in game tutorial or explanation would be nice. :) But overall, well done!
I found my cluck! I saw your game in @rebecca-kremer's stream and I wanted to give it a try myself. I had fun playing, and I love the music. :musical_note: Strangly, I found jumping a gap more difficult than climbing my way up. I didn't use the double tap on A or D to speed.
Well done!
Nice game, I had fun playing! The top customer was really hard to serve. I liked the graphics!
Nice game, but that explosion took way too long! (At least on my computer.) I quickly wanted to have another try, but had to wait for 15 seconds after each 2 second attempt.. I ended up quitting and restarting the game in stead. :stuck_out_tongue: (When I did wait, and clicked 'Retry', I see 'Congratulations, you finished the level' and I have to click retry again...) The music starts to get nice, but I died too soon to be really able to enjoy it. I would like to hear more of it. After many tries I got 11 seconds.
Nice concept! I enjoyed playing it. :) I liked the little drawings that popped up when typing words. What I didn't like was that when I made an error, the rhythm went back all the way back to super slow. I ended up with 4359 points. I like how the game starts with 'press space to start'. Maybe it could be nice to store&show the highest combo.
Cute game! I liked how the shrimp changes expression, but I had hardly time to look at it, since it's quite stressful to care for a baby shrimp. ;) Cool that you can also have to much of something!
I would have liked a visual indicator that I selected an item. Furthermore, I twice missed my score because I accidently clicked too fast and started again - a personal highscore would be nice. I got till 354 later on. :)
Overall, well done! :shrimp: Congrats with your first LD game.
Fun game, hilarious combination of genres. I really like that you have different music depending on the location of the player. The flying/hovering mechanics are a bit confusing, I personally would like to swap the keys.
Nice game! I would have like to replay just one stage. It was quite frustrating to start from the beginning everytime. I stopped when I bumped into a pink thing that I didn't notice coming because I was all the way on the right of the screen. ;) I liked the puzzles where I had to move backwards, or when the ground was slippery and you had to be very careful.
Haha, that was fun! Funny combination of genres, cool music and nice graphics. Well done. :)
Some minor criticism: - When choosing an item, I could drag the clothes to the left outside of the screen, or just in the middle of the screen, and they would tween a little to the right when an item was chosen, but still be visible. - In the beginning of a new round, the circular attack was sometimes quite hard (almost impossible?) to survive when I couldn't shoot yet. - I thought the screen shake was a bit too strong, which made it hard for my (sleepy) eyes to follow the movements of my fairy.
Fun choice of genres! Nice graphics and funny voice acting. Didn't like the mechanics of picking up a box and turning around though; the mouse movement felt a bit rough. And maybe the questions could become a bit harder as you progress.
Nice game, I enjoyed playing it. I like the music and the art style! Interesting take on the theme.
Another memory game! Fun concept. I enjoyed playing, but whoah that is quite a hectic memory game! The multi-tasking is quite hard. At first I didn't know that I couldn't have more than 3 active/playable cards, so I just thought the game was broken. Maybe some visuals and sound could help there. It seemed that when I clicked 'replay' that I kept the old monsters but also got new ones, making it really hard.
Well done!
1,2,3, Soleil! Nice game, with cute graphics and sound effects. I had fun playing, although for some reason after a while the movement got frustatingly slow... :turtle: But when I refreshed the browser, it was all ok, and I managed to finish the game. Bravo! :balloon:
Nice game! I really like the graphics. We got 7653, once we noticed that clicking on the right benefits our score. :) Sometimes it seemed that we couldn't build anything.
I enjoyed playing this! I got to level 2, but I think I was unlucky because there was nowhere else to explore. I tried again, now I had some more doors, but less enemies. ;) I liked how the letters fly, but it took me a while to see that I actually shoot the letters to a door or enemy.
Some small things: When I didn't aim my letters at anything in particular, the letters would sometimes have a weird movement in the end. Often I was too fast, resulting in 'hithit', and I also hat the open door 'hit' problem. The doors move funny when you walk through.
Nice concept. At first I didn't get what I should do, I was just spamming the arrow keys (and by accident solved the 'puzzles'). Once I got the idea, the beginning was a bit boring. When 3 colors started, I often was just randomly smashing my arrow keys, since it seemed that it didn't matter that I hit the wrong ones. I didn't like that I have to use the same finger for green and yellow. I like the graphics and the epic music. :)
I like how the music and sound effects set the mood. At some point I hear some morse, but I couldn't decipher it that quickly ;)
Well done!
Cute, and fun mechanics! I love that there were some small sheep in spring, and all the fun sounds. The winter level could maybe have been a little bit more challenging.
Great entry!
So cute and colorful! It's very fun that I could change the color of almost everything in the shop
At first I didn't find the first mini-game. Apparently I discarded the text balloons of these bees as not important, haha. The second mini game I only found much later even. They are cute mini games, but the honey collecting is not very challenging, and sometimes I only had to collect 6, because maybe the new ones spawned right under me? I liked the path following better (maybe that is where this game connects to the theme?). Sometimes tough, I ended up at the goal without wanting to, because the designated path was too close to it.
In sidebar show, the arrows to change between tabs are very small. Also, I would have liked to be able to put more pots or flowers down at the same time, especially when I just bought a new table. Now I have to back to the shop every time.
Nice selection of music for the game! Very chillll. And I really like the colorful art
As you mentioned above, sometimes the game freezes, but luckily it remembers my progress after refreshing   I played your game for quite long, like an hour or so!
Congrats on your great entry
Hive and Honey.png
I saw your game on GingyBeardyGuy's stream and immediately wanted to play! I really like the nesting of the signals and the puzzles you can make with it. Sometimes the solution was a bit fiddly, because the message was so limited in size, but I get that it was necessary to make the puzzles. I spend a lot of (fun!) time on your game. I wish the robots moved a bit faster. ;)
In the Virgo level, I first got stuck, so I did the other levels. When I revisited this level, I had an idea how to start with it at least, but the game kept freezing at this point:
ld59signOS.png
I could not move anything anymore... Otherwise, I got so far!
ld59signOS2.png
Creat concept, nice pixel art, challenging puzzles: well done!
@wendel-scardua The game stopped working, nothing happened when I pressed buttons...
@tay-elenberg Thanks for playing and your comment! It is indeed quite annoying if your arrow keys are very small. I had already programmed alternative options for the arrow keys: the numpad and the letters I,J,K,L, but I hadn't yet added it to the description above. You could try if it works better with the alternatives. Also, with numbers 1 to 5 you can skip levels
@djtequila Thanks for playing and your comment! Cool to hear that you managed to finish the last level!  After a weekend of playing it myself, it is hard to judge how hard it is
@william-capon @catanus Thanks for playing my game and your comments! I hope that the craziness of the last level at least made you smile  Did you manage to finish it? I notice that I turn my head a little during that level
@mersaries Thank you so much!
@oddballdave Thank you! Yes, that was indeed the idea; that you have to figure out what the message said, either puzzling a little with the letters you find or by replaying the level.
@universeflow Thanks for playing and for your comments! In the school setting, you were not able to mistakes, but it's different out there in the world! By the way, you can hit R to retry a level, at any point in a level. But that was maybe not so clear... I get that it feels frustrating if you missed that! In level 3 and 4 I thought it would be funny that you (might) have to figure out what you had to do, even though some letters might be wrong.
@cosmogonicfrog: Thanks for playing and for your nice comments!
And thank you very much for bringing this ugliness to my attention! On purpose I deselected 'full screen mode' in itch.io, to avoid people seeing this, but apparently that was not enough. I downloaded Firefox and played my game there, and I saw it too... I played with the mentioned setting, and now it is sort of fixed! (Only now it scales with your window size, which might be ugly in a different way )
Thanks again!
@frowsyfrog Thank you so much for playing my game on your stream! It is always fun to see people trying my game for the first time. And that is a very good screenshot, hahaha
@frozenfire92 Thanks for playing and your nice comment! And congrats on finishing the last level!
@verbante When I thought of this idea, I was afraid that the number of keys pressed (or some combination of keys) would be limited, because I had a vague memory that this used to be the case. But when I tried it on my laptop, I was surprised to notice that it did work! (But not with all combinations). I am sorry that it didn't work for you! Did you try the alternatives for the arrow keys?
And hahaha, thanks for the video!
@itero-proto Thanks for playing and for your enthousiastic comment! I agree, I also don't like too much text in a game!
@laminariy Thanks for playing and for your comment! I understand that those directions were a bit a hard to distinguish. I think that by looking at the colors of (the bars of) the flag, you can see the orientation, but it's harder when the frog is moving around
@blubberquark Ha, I didn't think of this! Maybe I can add it later to see how that works. Maybe then I could ramp up the speed even more!
@nuclme Thanks for playing and your kind comment! I must admit I opted for some (random) animals, because they are cuter and easier to draw than humans  The semaphore flags were also used to signal between chains of relay towers in France as as sort of 'optical telepgraph'.
@emsea Thanks again for playing my game on your stream! And thanks for sharing the video.
@sarah Thank you for playing and your kind comment!
Interesting puzzle game! Maybe there was a little too much of walking around needed. At the third level, I noticed the green and red lights above the signal. In the fourth level I got a bit bored by the puzzles and all the walking around. But I pushed through and found the end of the game.
Nice clean graphics, a happy Steve in a gray environment. ;) I like the beat of the music, but the other noises are a bit repetitive and harsh, but they fit to the computer/signal theme.
Very clever game idea!
Oooh, another semaphore flag game!
But as others have mentioned, it's way too hard. You have a picture here on this LD-page of all the flag-combinations, but it would have been nice to have this in-game too. And also start with shorter words. Not only do I have to decipher the letters, but also remember the letters. I would have liked to be able to type along while watching the flags.
It would also have been nice to add an auto-focus to the place where you need to type, so that the player doesn't need to click it before typing. Sending the word with enter would also feel logical.
With a couple of tries it did get a bit better, and while having the cheat sheet on one side and the game on the other, I got:
flagfanatic.png
After getting so far, I found out that the games stops if I click the other tab. If I would play like this, I would have as much time as I want to think
I like that you can buy more luck  So I spent most of my money on that!
I enjoyed playing your game. Nice introduction to the concept of the game with the drawings at the start. The music is very nice and chill. The graphics and animations are very cute.
Overall, very well done!
Fun game! I didn't like that I had to completely restart the game if I ran out of lives. I would have liked to feel freer to explore, and always return to the latest checkpoint.
I would like to be able to climb the rope (btw, it's quite a stiff rope, morelike a rod ), like I can climb the ladder.
I like that I can adjust the music and SFX levels, but when I tried to lower the SFX sounds (because the walking sound is too harsh for me), even at 0 it was too loud ;) Also, I had to change the settings every time I restarted the game. The music is fine, but sometimes it stopped for a while.
I got stuck at the rotating saws, so I tried the patched version that you mentioned in your post, but that in that one the player movement is very slooooow. Then I read your comment above and waited for about 10 seconds, and got past it :) Later I almost gave up again, but I managed to finish the game! (And found an LD59 treasure )
The art style is cute, I am mainly missing a background.
Well done!
That was a fun and mysterious adventure! Great entry
Oooh that was so much fun! I was already dancing to the music even before I started haha. I enjoyed all the levels, especially the future levels and the bonus levels! Great concept and great execution.
Cableman2.png
Ha, fun idea! It was a bit awkward to press both up and down at the same time. On my first try I got 6729, but after a few tries, using both hands, I got to:
mixedsignals.png
Hard mode was also fun! I got to 4092. Some faces were definitely easier to read than others, haha.
It was fun how the music went faster and faster, but I didn't really find a rhythm aspect other than that.
Fun graphics, cool that you made so many different faces possible  Music is nice too.
Overall, well done!
Haha, that was a funny game!
At some point not only my brain was full with the rules, but also the cheat sheet. Also, the subtitles were covering it. I think it would have been nice to put the subtitles between the screen and the cheat sheet + controls at the bottom, with more space for the rules. ;)
I replayed it, and noticed that the rules were different this time, nice! I also enjoyed all the gestures, especially the dab
With the green button, I would have enjoyed if it gave me a little bit more time to think for myself if I should press a button. :)
Cool sound track
Very cool game! It took me some time to understand how it worked, but it was really fun when I got the hang of it! Nice music to play along to.
Would have been nice to see my scores for each sequence, to know which ones to try again, and to see which ones I've already done in general  (Because I didn't play them in the order that they are listed)
At first I was confused what the codes meant. Then I tried @kr4ft3r's code, and got 95.71%! Then I had some fun making up my own sequence, by iterating on my own code:
AQAAAAAAAAADDQYGAD8APwA/ABUqFSoVMDAMDAMDPj07Ny8fKioqFRUVAAA4OAcHMBgMBgMAISESLS0SJxUNFScAISEzHh4zKBINEigAAAUKFCgAHj8ePx4M
Ha, fun game! The itch page loaded a bit slow here, and a restart would break it. ("WebGL context lost, please reload the page")
Would be fun to use blowing in the microphone as in input to the game
The game looks so cute, but is also confusing. It starts already with being for much zoomed in, so I missed some of the animals at the start already. It was fun to make pairs, but I didn't really get what would be the good choice. I played several times, but still didn't fully get it. But I did manage to find the end, eventually!
ld59matingcall.png
The graphics and sounds are cute!
Moody, a bit mysterious, an adventure. Great!
The minigame of getting the signal right was maybe too easy with the visual on the right.
The audio was nice, but at first I thought it was produced by the game play, but after a while I concluded it was probably just the background track. Nice clean visuals. Well done!
Fun game! The choice of music and sound effects sets the mood. I like how the kraken covers its eyes  The game works smoothly, and I like the light beam effect. I managed to finish the game on my first try.
Awesome that you managed to implement a leaderboard, but since the game finishes when you save 10 boats, it seems weird to have the leaderboard sorted by longest time.
Ha, another semaphore entry! Although being a different semaphore system it seems. Fun fact: just after publishing my LD entry, I considered renaming my game to Semaphoria, but I noticed my url wouldn't change, and that's actually how I found your game, haha!
Now, about your game: I am very bad at navigating in 3D games  but once I got to the handles, putting the semaphore machine in the correct configuration was not so hard. In endless mode I noticed I could resend my answer many times for the same incoming signal.
It would be nice to have some audio feedback on whether the signals I sent were good. Maybe also some visual feedback would be nice, to show which joints/levers where not in the right position?
Nice jam entry, well done!
Very cute! But the game play felt a bit too random.
The music is very nice! Did you make it yourself, or did you get it from elsewhere? (If you did not make it yourself, please opt-out for the Audio category.)
Fun art style, and congrats on your first LD game!
