Cool twist on Tetris! had fun playing. the controls were a little awkward, otherwise solid play!

Cool twist on Tetris! had fun playing. the controls were a little awkward, otherwise solid play!
Buggy (constant game overs) when started, made the screen bigger and reset that helped.
game was fun but did not offer a lot of replay, controls were good, lacking audio.
HAHAHA. yep.
Pretty fun! 2nd level was awfully hard.
Great game, at first the controls are a little odd, but after a few levels it gets addicting! good theme and great music!
FUN GAME! the blobs were a little confusing at first but when I got it, it all made sense! I loved the grid growing and shifting with the arrows, made the game challenging.
Could not run the game! Missing DLL
Windows 7
"The program can't start because sfml-audio-2.dll is missing from your computer."
GREAT! Super fun, boss was a little hard and repetitive. good music. I Really enjoyed this game :)
Anyway you can post the source code?
Pretty fun. took me a while to realize I needed to run through a door! This is a great concept, I hope you do make it into a fuller game!
Yes! I love the audio and the graphics :)
My fingers are sore but my soul is happy! good fun, great eggs!
Found a bug where if you are currently shape shifting and you click the shape shift button for your next, the previous shape will forever stay on your screen. not a big deal, didn't ruin gameplay
starting the game made no sense! after I got stared it was pretty fun. I liked the dialog between the NPC's
cute game.
wolves would walk through the bunny and I would survive. also, wolves were unaware when I was near them. A little AI would really bring this together.
I enjoyed not being able to see the entire map, however that doesn't seem to match your screenshots (bug or feature? LOL)
Very fun game, a little too easy to run off the edge but that is OK. had a lit of fun playing, A tutorial would have helped a lot in the beginning to know that the faded platforms were the ones I was shifting to.
that was fun. more enemy types, some power ups, varied terrain and the game would be super cool. Thanks for providing a web version
took me a minute to realize I had to move. simple game. I was kinda hoping the facial expression of the planet would get sadder as it lost health. good job!
you're right. controls are not good. but the idea was great and I loved the 1-bit color graphics you had going.
Played by myself with 3 fingers, i will play this again with more people.very fun idea, local muliplayer on a mobile device is kinda unheard of and I LOVE the idea.
I had an issue where fingers covered most of the screen so its pretty hard to see.
The permissions required were a little unsettling for a dev build. I installed it anyways, hoping for the best!
Would be cool to have a dynamic number of players (like 2-4) but who knows how that would actually work.
are you going to pursue this idea further?
Playing on the keyboard was pretty awkward. Controller is probably a lot better... overall pretty good!
great job. got stuck in the castle but that's OK. now I'm off to try to beat the game...
this game is a diamond in the rough. I had lots of fun. I could see this as a really fun game polished up and ported to the phone or something!
good game, a little slow to start but it was nice. never got a big fish and I never understood the whales purpose. the people animations were priceless.
nice job. I enjoyed the building Not going back to the source to position blocks would be awesome, as well as a help screen with combos and button mapping.
fun game, took me a few minutes to really understand the controls. great art too
when I got hit I would just keep getting hit. kinda frustrating. otherwise when I wasn't getting mowed down I had fun, the art was good and humor was even better
This was a great game, my favorite so far. i loved that I could still complete the last level even though I messed it up a little. A+
great little game. good unique idea. I could not for the life of me deal with that stupid bear!
I loved the audio for this game. sooooo great. I love audio made for Compos, you never know whats going to flow into your ears :D
The fruit was good too. took me a few tries to master it.
great entry!
those graphics! OMG great gameplay, interesting concept. would be fun to play after it is fleshed out a bit more
im not gonna build the game but if you do get it built before judging ends contact me and i'll give it a play. if you don't have the game available then screenshots, a youtube video, .gif, or anything would be nice.
Sorry, broken for me too. the idea sounds interesting though.
couldn't build the source code either. :/ oh well...
Wow great game. it shows that some good effort went into game design and eloquently presenting new game play mechanics to the player as you progress through the game.
if you start running around a planet you can swing out and boomerang to a new planet without using air. good physics, good game.
Needs some level variations, more obstacles, different objectives, something to make a level increment feel good.
overall very nice.
I agree with everyone else. Simple AI, different icebergs, and a win condition instead of a negative score. kinda fun though
very nice job, I enjoyed playing it. the dash mechanic was very helpful and a good idea!
really great game!
nice job. easy to learn, hard to master. the point system felt fair and gratifying.
cute little game! good job
great job. your monster was great, the art looked good. the controls took a minute to get down but very fun.
A lot of room for great dialog! great job, game looks pretty polished and interesting.
I agree, More fun with enemies... also, as a color blind dude the red/green on a brown background is hell. otherwise I had fun tooling around chomping on peas :)
nothing here..
Very fluid movement! I also really enjoyed that the game just overlaid my own personal background, a plus for you because I have anime chicks on my background ;) That aside, cute idea, with a ton of potential for expending the enemy/health interactions. As it is, the game is a little slow, both in enemy movement and type of attack. I crave just a little more interaction than click-to-kill. That said, it was a nice leisurely game!
I think I really needed an Atari joystick to get the full effect of this game! Good premise, and a double hit on the theme (save the whale, but I mean if you sit here wading through all the plastic maybe your takeaway will be saving the earth?!) I appreciated the throwback to original games. That said, I was on a keyboard, and at least for this mode of gaming, the controls cannot respond fast enough to get more than 10-15 seconds of gameplay. It feels like maybe the intensity ramps up too quickly. Maybe taking some of the speed progression a game like Galaga uses would be appropriate to apply here? All in all, fresh game, good ideas, just wish I could get a better feel with a longer play-through.
Had a good laugh at "No. Stop. Please. Don't." Steering was hard to get control of, which was an excellent addition to the challenge!
This game has a lot of potential if a soundtrack were added, and maybe color coding, or otherwise differentiating between waves of bots...Can you imagine this on the oculus?!
All in all good take on the theme, very fluid; both animation and movement controls.
wtf did I just play?! I liked it. I think. great imagination and pretty impressive art LOL
great game! hard to get at first, but after a few tries I got the hang of it (I think!) Great audio, great art, great idea, great theme, great monster variety, great fun.
A couple things I would want to see on 2.0: - I want to see item stats on shop items - A little better understanding of the flee system - Save my pets name from play-to-play so I don't have to keep naming it with my wife's name LOL - Expanded version would be great to include more items, and pet "upgrades"
14,600. I loved it but now I need a new keyboard!! haha man that was frantic. good job, I really enjoyed this one!
The resolution was way too small on a high res screen, I turned down my resolution and it was better but still very small! also, the right-click didn't seem to do anything, your console made note of MANY failed to load messages... hopefully this is just a small bug you fix real quick and get some good votes in!
this was a great concept. if other people played when I did. on the bright side I won LOL
would be cool for an arrow or waypoint to direct me back to my fire. very easy to get lost. the controls (enter to pickupo, shift to use) were not intuitive. very hard to use. maybe something a little more standard?
I assume the bucket was to put out others fires?
overall I liked this game and I am going to boot this up periodically over the next couple days and see if anyone else is playing so I can destroy them!
It felt like actual skateboarding, just repeating the same trick over and over until you finally nail it, YES! Made it to 15 and absolutely enjoyed myself the whole time! The levels had a unique puzzle like quality to them that I find enjoyable. I loved the music, the fluid controls and character movement to match the speed of the board, the sound effects of the skateboard slap when it hits the ground, and the adorable tags on the wall in the background. I noticed the levels titles as well, "double Tollie" too cute! My only critique is that it's a bit of a stretch to say that you "keep it alive," however that is well made up for in the well thought out levels, from progression to varying tricks to accomplish. You did well introducing a new element and getting the payer used to it before adding it to a challenging string of tricks. Overall your game demonstrated your skills with all of the different elements you included. Coming back to play again!
dude. I got kids I can so I can endorse this game fully! 5-stars in every freaking category for this one. when my wife is free, she is going to plat the crap out of this!
your multitasking mechanic is great, as soon as I am comfortable I crash my car! It would be cool if I could grab the cup and knife and put them back on the counter to give myself a break in exchange for moving the said items.
also I liked the fact that I couldn't just hold the baby and cheat my way through. I tried. doesn't work! hahaha
great job on this one
not too bad. won the first try, I liked the mine/TNT dynamic, specially the one room that chain exploded.
A mini-map or some form of direction notification would be cool. took me a minute to realize I should move to another room
nice idea. would be cool to aim and shoot with the mouse so you can stun baddies behind you. without it it is near impossible to stun them and move around! also, a slightly sharper turn radius.
I loved the music. relaxing and non stressful
I like it, like mushroom wars! I need some variation with the virus, it gets a little tedious fight the same bad guy the entire time. I liked the calming music, my wife wanted something a bit faster to match the urgency of healing everyone. do what you want with that information LOL
not a bad start, I got to level 10!
this game seems to remind me of something... I can't put my finger on it though.
I enjoyed the gem upgrade system, the pickup and walking was a little slow and I eventually got in a situation where too many black gems laid around and I couldn't walk well.
a chart (or sign) would be cool to understand what the monster likes, he seemed not to like something I gave him. also, what do I do with the x3 yellow gas can?
overall pretty good. the audio was great, I liked the art and "dark slimes" it did take me a while to realize I had more than 1 fire! some variety overall would be a great next step, enemies, weapons, fuel.
great job :)
I liked this game and wanted more. Im sure you know at this point: Checkpoints and the rotation was hard to deal with. kept pressing the wrong button cause it rotated odd. then I would have to start the whole game over. but I liked it enough to give it plenty of go's!
downloads are missing!
Dude I kicked butt! great submission. I liked that you managed a bit of variety in weapons and enemies! the art was adorable.
can we take a second and talk about that dog with a gun?! great stuff! I will mess you up pew pew hahaha
beautiful game, a bit underwhelming game play though. some more challenge, longer win condition than 2-ish minutes. audio didn't work on my PC, was it suppose to?
I could see this being a pretty fun game to play if it were stretched out with more complexity...
very interesting game. very humorous. did it have more than one ending?
to say this was cute is an understatement. I look forward to plaything this again.
I could play a whole game like this. nice
@0xwavy @hypernoodlejon @maymay Web Player is working now on Itch.io (Brotli Compression was crashing the player) ^ Link above
@square-wave "I’m excited to show this to my kid in the morning." this made my morning. thank you
A+ on the graphics! audio seemed to fit the game. hard but doable. I hid behind a silo and shot to kill. got ending 1/3 and 3/3
I loved the little details around the farm (like the cassette tape in the barn)
first off, art was spot on! I liked the chase, especially because your character seemed kinda slow. more challenge to add to that thrill-of-the-chase to make it more fun. it can be hard to see where you are going.
A game after my own heart! loved the idea, controls seemed a little odd. Mushrooms looked great! great atmosphere.
Small bug: when replaying without restarting the exe, the collected count is the previous games count.
I believe bug patches are OK.
Made it to year 3. look me a try or two to realize you need the combos to ANY damage. the broccoli was definitely the best of the bosses, it attacked with the clouds and felt like I was fighting it rather than working through it.
artwork was consistent and flowed well. the giant veggies were cool
MOVE DEER!!!
great. i played it all the way through. I maxed the upgrades right away, some more upgrades would have been cool. spreading fire, meteors, deer, all good.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for not putting me at the start of the game after I savagely mow down a poor deer. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!
fun and challenging. my whole family has played it already! LOL great art too
By far this has been my kids favorite game. we all took turns playing it for well over an hour. great job.
hit a few bugs but I can see the intended goal.
great game. the mood, art, and mechanics were top notch.
I loved the idea of a single magical arrow you needed to keep track of and retrieve. the encroaching darkness was a great touch and made you want to push forward.
the monsters were cool but when they spawned camped at the bonfire and killed me on revival it quickly became a deadend.
I would love to see this as a larger game, reminds me of Roguelight (https://managore.itch.io/roguelight) I wouldn't be surprised to see you towards the top of the list for art this Jam, best of luck!
I also found this a bit confusing, jumping in with all the mechanics right away was overwhelming. have a tutorial showing the players what elements were what, the goal, and examples of the actions would be helpful.
I enjoyed the idea that the answer to each puzzle was not obvious at first, made you think a little. could have used some differing obstacles or danger areas to add some complexity.
Untitled.png
My screen size never got larger than SMALL and I could only place the 4 objects and nothing more. and what did the UPLIMIT button do?
Untitled.png
great simple game, this really captures the essence of Ludum Dare! your art was simple, themed well together, and effective. my only complaint was the UI could have been at a higher quality to match the cuteness and mood of the rest of the game.
That was really fun! your art, audio, and gameplay was spot on. great job!
transilvaniawkward.png
love it. played a few times before I got the hang of it, this was really fun and well polished. you guys did a great job!
bound-balance.png
@spike-studio I would be happy with just an explanation on itch or LD on what the power-ups do and maybe how to effectively use them. I have came back to play this game several times over the course of several days.
I totally understand the thought behind the control description "Controls: You’re an adult. Figure it out!" it matches your game theme and story but from a JAM perspective, knowing how to play your game that was programmed and art'd in record time needs more description. I liked the gameplay idea, it was quirky and weird and that was great!
I really enjoyed the idea of the world changing when collecting/shooting. cool mechanic!
cool idea choosing your available movements for each level.
BAHAHAHA I love it! well done!!! some audio would have been real cool! it was hard to read and play but that just takes time. great game <3
I liked it! immediately regretted picking up the hearts I didn't need :(
great first LD entry! I loved the scoreboard, i think that was a great idea!
@arisu-kurotori I found your game in the list. no problem! i'll be back to vote and comment when the votes open for Compo.
This game seems to have 2 listings. which one is correct?

first thing we need to get on the table. THESE BIRDS ARE ADORABLE! my kids loved the game and made it to day 55+ (they want to know if you had an ending)
what I liked: resource management and the art what I would like to see: more animals with different needs, more “card” options what I didn’t like: as stated above, “one letter descriptions are not very readable at first glance”, lack of options to choose, the game got repetitive very quickly.

I think this was a great start to a game, it was pretty bare-bones but everything worked well. I liked the idea of the corpses sitting around cluttering the room, if the corpses blocked bullets that would add a little more challenge. also, some of the different enemies having unique attacks would be a cool addition
Took me a couple tries to understand it. once I got going it was hard to put this one down. so satisfying bombing that soccer ball! Could use a indicator of which direction the ball is going to start in so I can plan my mines a little better. and the option to move/delete a mine that was already down may be good (but might just undo the difficulty...)
GREAT start! Felt good to shoot those slimes :D @tinyworlds: anyway you can post the source code?
I missed the fact that you can change what towers you place. I just drove around till I have 30 coins to build my first tower. A lot more fun when you can start building right away. i don't mind the graphics for the compo.
A little more forgiveness if you hit a rock or a tower would be nice. have a few lives or something.
interesting game!
GREAT Graphics, but you already knew that. The game is a little short, I would like MORE... Could be cool with collections, different maps, red blocks that move. very solid though. Music is on point too.
if this game doesn't win the fun or innovative or theme category, I will be greatly saddened!! great entry!
@DarkAnice, @jacobturn, @Marcus Otterstrom: Yes, The game is pretty unbalanced. I went into LD41 with a focus on balance but got caught up trying to give the game more depth...
@Hedgy: I agree the point of the game is a little... abstract... Genres: Farming/Aliens.
@jharler: Thanks for the note, I had seen that issue to. I will see what I can do about tracking down the problem. seems like restarting the level can solve it (however I neglected to add a 'restart' button)
Thank you everyone for your feedback :)
great mash-up of the genres. couldn't pass level 5. fun/interesting take!
nice work. I enjoyed the stealth and crafting :)
Like everyone else has said, great innovation here! Variety of: enemies and guns would be cool!
I played this game longer than I like to admit. I enjoyed it very much. Seems like when I used a left card I would move right instead. could never reliably duplicate it happening. great cross genre, cute art. I kinda wish i could control what tile I was swapping with though, made it hard to be strategic when seeming random times would swap with me.
Edit: I'm going to try the phone version tonight
