had a lot of fun especially once i got a few connector joints with a cleaver attack and started flailing around like a lanky serial killer
Wow thats a lot of polish! Interesting concept, took me a while to understand when exactly the dragon wanted a thing. Great art and execution, felt so complete for a game jam game.
Godooooot aight aight. very interesting game, very mysterious, I don't know why my critters die! is it old age? thirst? i think my horny little dudes what something to spit on them. i haven't won yet but I'll keep thinking about it. Had a lot of fun with it and it looks fantastic great job guys
Haha this is one of my favorite submissions good job. a lot more to this funny little game than i expected. if you update anything please make it the repetetive gun noise
It wasn't linear but I managed to get all the abilities and progress through the level without feeling annoyed by back tracking. great submission! those sound effects made me cry tears of joy
Great execution on the mood and style. was pretty scary until i found the fireball, then i basically couldn't die until i decided to. This was a super good entry overall I'm impressed
Thanks for all the feedback guys! Taking it all directly into account
@asimov you need to drag the dna from the into one of your own dna slots and then press 'Tab' we're working to make that more clear! thanks for letting us know
@icxon Hey we actually have the dna breaking into relevant pieces just like you're talking about we're planning on pushing that tonight. I'm stoked you understood the core idea we were going for so well; We've talked about different ways of trying to give the players the part codes that would be most fun, I think splitting them up with dashes will definitely help, maybe we can even randomize them if it helps a lot. Thanks for the video it's beyond helpful!
Wow 10/10 man this is awesome it already feel like a finished product
@paulius @bananabobbert i believe it's like missile commander and only the explosion kills the incoming bullets, not hitting them with your bullets
Great update! I managed to get to level 16 and get a score of 2640. i felt like the punishment / regrowth rate was perfectly balanced, I'd screw up and lose something and it would feel like a real setback but i knew i could rebuild. bumped up the rating by a lot great job
that was just gorgeous, really clever and on point with the theme
I think i figured out most of the mechanics in this game, and i found the extra ammo in the fort outside the base, but i only ever found the uzi and I didn't have nearly enough ammo to kill everyone. Works really well in the windows build, but the Html5 version was almost too laggy to play for me. the pixel art 3d style is really well done i dig the graphics
well holy crap that's a graphical 5 if i ever saw one. didn't accomplish much in the way of objectives but grabbed some fish around and was blown away by the graphics this is awesome
i like how irreverent this game is to my processing power. lot of moving parts here pretty impresvi
Loved the game, looks gorgeous you really nailed your look. was exciting to see the saw blades climb up the thing with each level. weird controls but i felt like it was kinda fun to figure them out and made it feel more unique. still pretty loud for me
Okay so you used your falling sand engine tech you made previously, you didn't implement all the lighting and pixel / rigidbody connections in this jam lol thank god. Awesome game looking forward to the full release
@newrybenson @tiago-cruz Thanks!! Marked as public, should work now
@tiago-cruz Totally agree, I might add some later @drunk-wizard Thanks so much! Yeah fecal knight was really the muse for this whole project. If I had some more time I'd finesse the timings a bit and be clearer about what's going to happen exactly on the next turn to reduce the jarringness.
Lol such a goofy vibe I love it. I didn't realize there were other weapons until about half way through when I realized I had no idea what the pickups were about. IMO the lighting detracted from the aesthetic made it feel less cohesive as a whole, but no biggy.
Very enjoyable project all in all, was satisfying to beat the boss. Great job guys keep it up!
Marked as Windows build but it's a html5 browser game; might want to fix that. Really fun premise and take on the theme. The difficulty of the catching the high value fish makes them really satisfying when you get them, and the way health was done gave every mistake a good weight that kept me hooked.
Great work! Really enjoyed this one.
Great mood! Super intense, got very invested and was looking forward to seeing what the next trap was. The pacing of new mechanic introductions and the combining of previous mechanics was really well executed as well.
So chill I love it
God damn it I just have a problem
this game is incredible, I already love playing it I can't wait to see a final product

@Pietro Ferrantelli Hahaha man you guys need some pro-er user testers, I broke 100 and the level counter didn't even support it it cut off and just said ten. I started recording after level 97 but it's just a box in the top right corner of the screen cause I was doing unity screen caps and forgot to switch it back lol so not too useful.
Are you supposed to not be able to place seeds after a certain point or did you just not add enough game objects to the object pool
Capture2.JPG
Hot damn there went a 1/2 hour of my life. was kinda mad at how terrible the controls were for aiming and stuff, but it really is part of the charm trying so hard to do a simple thing while being pestered by zombies, it honestly gave me more realistic golf emotions than most golf games really love it
This is incredible! the concept is well executed, haven't seen anything like it before and I think I'm going to keep it as a reference for retro graphical fidelity it looks perfect.
really just kinda angry at how good this is
oh it did take me a few minutes to leave the first planet because I didn't realize you could click/drag to look around the system. so yea
WOW that UI design. Animations for everything are so juicy and the art looks great
tho tbh to echo what's been said, kinda really really really wanted to skip the slots animation haha
10/10 can't believe this was done in 3 days
This is amazing! The control scheme of having the left and right arrows turned the keyboard experience into a typewriter experience; so damn cool
one bug is that if you miss and hit a numpad key itll type out "numpad 0" instead of "0" and you have to backspace it all
Was funny trying to pick up one gun that I wanted and all five of my people would shuffle around their weapons trying to make it happen
a lot of clever stuff going on in this game nice work
I liked the card mechanics, especially in pvp or in a solo game like dishonored or something
ui for cards and deck building was awesome
almost gave up on the first level until i realized you could shoot the capsules to remove them and you shouldn't touch the capsules cause they can kill you.
bonus points for having a game called "the magic gun" as well lol
Love the strategy and the work in the pixel artistry, style is nice and cohesive. Could easily have this expanded into a weird deck building rogue-lite thing. Good execution on the core of an interesting idea. This what LD is all about baby
Yeah, okay, this is the coolest thing I've seen on here
So many novel game strategy decisions, you get to be the platformer's guardian angel when you freeze time and move the platform for him
The art, fx, audio, theme, everything is just on point. didn't see ANY bugs either. great job guys
That was great! Once I understood the context of attacking and defending the different sections of play got way more engaging and intense. during a boss battle when you only have one life left it gets really intense and exciting
all very well executed, good music, art and game feel
Super sexy game, great visuals all around and the music was on point.
gameplay could be improved, I never learned the simple two key mapping; would have preferred every letter on the keyboard as long as they're also shown on the screen haha
absolutely great work
Love how all the cars handle! I started with the VW and then moved onto the blue jalopy thing and was blown away at the difference in experience. Love rolling the cars, idk how you made that so satisfying
Didn't really understand what was going on with the food side of things, but as a racing game this thing stands on it's own
Love that style of split screen view too I gotta figure out how to do that
Great work guys I love this
Wow that is so hard to wrap my head around but nice job
one thing i thought was kinda annoying is that once you beat a level and then accidentally step back then you have to restart the whole previous level
lol this is so gross but I love it, I tried like six times but I couldn't win; still don't know what the scalpel is for
*Innovative*
*Great Music*
1090 high score. Really like being able to move pieces up and down at will too, really different experience from regular tetris it's cool
Five stars all categories from me! Love the concept, i think my favorite part about this theme has been all the novel gaming challenges that the games have presented me, this is definitely one of the best in that regard: SUPER unique challenge here.
Love the game, so here's some of my thoughts on improving it: Maybe both views could have the other view overlayed or blended in at all times, that might make the jump between them less disorienting. Maybe show the player view direction in the overhead view so you have an idea of where you're going to be looking when you switch. Really weird how the base of the movement vector sticks to the map rather than the view, would be good to have it move with the camera.
Arts great, concepts great, execution is great. Super ambitious project for the time frame yall nailed it
oh shit i didn't realize there was slow motion one sec
Ah so if you die in slow mo then it gets stuck in slow mo next game haha
I think slow mo is important for a game this hard and it's a good idea, but I'd like to be able to jump in and out of it instantly, it's kind of annoying to get stuck in it for the duration, might be cooler to have a slow mo juice bar that you fill up by jumping.
great incentive for jumping btw
CONGRATS MAN WELL EARNED! Game's fun!
lol holy shit i was using the arrow keys for the longest time and switching hands away from my mouse in order to jump. WASD. Got it. makes sense.
Graphics are stunning, great color scheme and pixel art! didn't even notice you were using the cool water effect for a long time, kudos for subtlety
Gameplay is really exciting, would be cool to see a bit more instant reaction from your guy when you try moving in a direction, it feels pretty unresponsive. maybe just a little animation queue that he's started trying to move in the direction?
Great job Aseprite FTW
Hey sorry bout your tech difficulties, would be cool to have seen it in full multiplayer glory!
I got a little over 7k but I kept on dying to random things I could not see- invisible bullets?
but yeah I could totally see a rhythm shooter working out pretty well, seems like an exciting idea to me :)
That pixel art is fking awesome!
Wow this is brilliant, the only thing I don't understand is why / how the ai can use shield to block my attacks, I always think I'm going to land one of the big five step cooldown ones and then they block ti
This is just so crazy polished and satisfying great job
idk I think I DID have fun hugging the bullets idk about u
Great work here, I'm not a big fan of bullet hell games, but this was a much more fun take on them for me :)
art and everything looks really cohesive this is awesome
ah shoot I got lost in the 3d area and then pressed Q (or something)? and it quitted on me
I honestly cracked up at the graphics / animations they are bad in a great way if it's not offensive to say
the core idea of translating the same character from 2d to 3d as a core part of a single game is interesting too nice LD Entry!
Nice go at the theme, that's a whacky one haha; a little buggy but I definitely see what you're doin there homie
Browser game too, nice job
found myself accidentally entering a lot of passcodes because I didn't know what the doors were when I pressed e- could be nice to have option to back out
Great art and aethstetic especially for the timeframe this is great
lol i'd rate it higher than a 5 in humor if I could- was surprised I enjoyed reading anything in a game this much. Best game writing 2018
feels like something from the newgrounds era 10/10
i think the hitboxes are a tiny bit off on the trees
nice job on the modeling and land
Woah great entry man! Didn't understand what was going on at all at first and I still thought it was dope cause of that juicy weird bar animation every few seconds
Once I came back here to learn the color meanings it made sense, really cool concept and a lot of fun to play. sometimes I'd fuck up and run out of time or change my mind too late and it just felt like a fair penalty
thumbs up from me
Love it I actually got on the edge of my seat when it got going, was surprised at how engaging it was for it's simplicity.
Mood is definitely on point- i personally got some nausea / vertigo with the rain and car moving so much but it wasn't really a bad thing lol
Masterpiece on the main character's pixel art hahaha Love the balance of making a nice meal while being pursued by zombies It says good job but then I don't get any bullets from making a recipe Game controls and single click ingredient steps like in "Cook Serve Delicious" could make this super fun as well Great entry fellas
@Gavin Camlin Ah yeah great feedback I'm sure I could make that more clear. I thought about making the start button a zone you had to shoot blood into but I was super strapped for time
@Gamekrazzy AH yeah it's a problem, I only tested as a standalone like three times before I published haha damn time constraints
@PadenPierry Thanks man! I could probably get a webgl build out some time- would that violate compo rules or anything?
@Evannex Yeah my house mates were pretty terrified by me making those noises as well XD Thanks so much man!
@mrspeaker I'm trying to get a webgl version up if that'll work for you
@mrspeaker @PadenPierry
WEBGL Version http://benp.tech/msgcb/ - no changes, just ported to webgl and worked like a charm O.o wtf unity ur too easy
@el-pepi @Blinkenlights Yeah, there were definitely some tough bugs I never got around to fixing - still not sure why that shooting bug happens, but it's a VERY hacky setup haha
WebGL right?
@fashionbatman Thanks for the feedback fashbat! tbh I added that cause I was so proud of the reload effect that I wanted to zoom in on it, maybe i'll dial it down a bit
@brandann @Hadik Yep that's the only gun, definitely wanted to focus on quality execution of a single thing-
I think more shotguns might be added with different spray patterns, damage, and ammo capacities.
also different enemies with different colors of blood could add to the coloring book side of things :o)
@Zeriver Yeah I focused quite a bit on game feel / camera work and making sure that the interactions that existed were polished, glad that came through :) did you noticed that the roll acts as a melee if you do it close enough? I almost had the rating system working but there is a stupid bug with it that I sunk way too much time into haha
@digitaldude555 Thanks for the in-depth rating! I appreciate your critical approach haha, I personally think the premise is humorous but that's all subjective I guess XD. I totally should have made the level progress automatically each time I've noticed some of my friends don't notice the arrows right away.
@IronyGames I guess we'll find out :D I have a few ideas like enemies with different colored blood and more complicated pictures, along with a little story line about trying to impress your Dad who is God or something lol really excited to keep going with it
@LoudEyes Thanks so much LoudEyes! Got a little carried away with the reload animation i'm glad you liked it :)
@wrexialmt haha yeah, I actually kind of like getting people accustomed to the controls / surviving and then introducing them to the game's real purpose through the report card at the end - Glad you found the arrows! XD really should have made that easier
@saintheiser The grades aren't quite implemented, ran out of time trying to get that to work, that's why I put a little note above the report cards saying "scores not functional" haha sorry for the confusion
@JackLeHamster "This is a little disturbing I have to say" hahaha I'll take it
Super impressive bunch of systems and stuff for such a short period; animations are on point
really wish i was smart enough to build that rocket XD gg
ur build is busted you gotta send the whole folder with dll and build_data
This is great! Perfect execution on the theme for sure
I think the health system is totally fine, could be cool to upgrade your watering can though for a lot of cash idk, felt a little shitty having everything get harder for your money all the time but I see what you're going for
Concept was great and it's a very complete experience great job man
oh yea sound is good too
ye art + audio are great verys satisfying to place stuff but the game seems boring or like I'm missing something on how to play it
This is insanely complicated but I love eating the cats
I've been laughing out loud for like ten minutes playing this thing the writing is great and there's so much character i love it
Game got really fun when I figured out about the rocket jumping, I feel like it should have some sort of radial/explosion effect to let you know what's going on
i like how it's broken up very different gameplay sequences but the map feels the same. rocket jumping around to move while fighting the flying enemies was super fun
great job with this!
Lol took me a few tries, but I beat it I like the agar.io style minimal control scheme too
didn't understand what was happneing with the weapon qualities for a while mainly because the weapons are the same color on the ground
looks really nice and was fun :) great entry fellas
honestly this is how I play with my dog normally this is beautiful well done,
one thing was that in webgl/chrome it kept resetting my view to the start direction i think? but yea fyi
got pretty fun when there were multiple buttons you needed to press, I like the art, I only played like twice cause the intro was so slow and boring, would be cool to skip or have the option to do it faster
