Super fun! I'll be honest it's only the 2nd game on here I played to completion. Audio was pretty cool and unique. One minor nitpick, being able to walk through enemies bodies before they disappear would have helped the game flow a lot better, but still, fun game!

I like the concept of gathering abilities in the levels, and I think you should expand on that and add new abilities to find, of which some would be very hidden and powerful. Controls are mostly fine, but lining up some jumps is difficult, because you can't control the jump's height. Graphics are clear, and music is, well interesting :D, but it gives it a different and distinctive feeling.
@stefanie-leitch thank you for the feedback, and I agree, I ran into an issue with figuring out how to get the colliders to disable before the creature finished its death animation (only picked up Godot about a week before LD, haven't had much practice with it).
@wie actually how long you hold down the jump button effect the height, a tap is about 1 block, 1/4 second is 2 blocks. Interesting is all I can ask for for the music. I apparently never installed any music creation software on my new computer and didn't want to spend time getting that working... so I improvised.
and thank you for the feedback!.
The first words out of my mouth when I beat this were "I don't know what I just played." And that's a compliment! It was super unique and fun, with the "music" and sound effects done with that style alongside the tube worm-ish enemies and other things. Admittedly, it's not the most technically impressive game, but it was a blast to play through. Keep it up!
Nice one with only one week of knowledge in Godot. The sounds are hilarious! I think I killed every enemy in my run through too.
Very enjoyable game, and a good use of the theme. The audio was (charming?) Ultimately, it seems like the game's biggest downfall is it's small scale, but nothing much could have been done about that without more time.
@mathstr0fficial - Thank you for the feedback. @tobias-froihofer - Thank you for the feedback.
I didn't expect the 'music' to get so many comment. I am starting to wonder if I shouldn't have opted out of humor... at the very least I have been getting plenty of laughing out loud at the comments I am getting.
This was a well made and fairly unique platformer. I actually read the comments before playing, and was genuinely curious what on earth the music was going to be. I was not disappointed.

Ah yes, you've used the sacred music instrument. The best type of an instrument for the game jams. Nice entry for just 12 hours, props to you!

The background music/noise realy fit to the mood of the game and mainly to the enemies. Colliding with enemies kinda made me mad.

Don't judge a book by it's cover is basically how you sum up this game. The movement mechanics were well done and both jumping and attack worked as I expected them to. There was never a point where I was fighting against the controls. The concept of gathering your platforming abilities was an interesting approach and slowly opened up the game and basically made the level feel different, even though it was the same.
While the music matched the art. I'll be honest, it did get annoying; so a mute feature would have been appreciated :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Good Job
It wasn't linear but I managed to get all the abilities and progress through the level without feeling annoyed by back tracking. great submission! those sound effects made me cry tears of joy
I choose to believe that there is no background music, but the character is humming to himself as he goes around killing tentacle monsters. A pretty simple game, but everything works as intended, so good job!

I thought that once I stopped laughing from the music (what I believe it was your singing) it would become extremely annoying. But I was wrong. I couldn't stop laughing, the sound effects kept me amused the whole game. Level design was fine was well. Only sad part was too reach the end and realize the game was over. I HAD to play it again. Good job!
Nice game, I just think it should have checkpoints or a way to recover life. It's really amazing that you did your game in 12 hours

Quite simple, but for how it was made in only 12 hours is pretty good~ I'm surprised you didn't allow any rating for Humour as I would have added points in that for the song that plays, haha.
@lexyvil, In the past I have never tried to make a 'humorous' game and the humor in this was was as much accidental and I didn't realize it until the multiple comments about it being funny.
@adroitconceptions The audio was quite amusing, both the song and the sword "swish" noise, as was the animation of the "undefined tentacle monsters." Impressive that you were able to make this in just 12 hours. Thanks for sharing it with us on stream. Nice done!
@youngblade thanks for the play and review!
