Very good! the art is smooth and the somewhat distorted mario music is spot on.
Id really like to see how you achieved that in code, are you going to share your source code for us to take a peek?

lol I won and got to the kitty god.
I saw you animating the drawing over on twitch, nice to see it done now. the look is very unique with the photographed drawings
It does lack sound though, would have been much better with it.
I thought at the start that those scary fish were enemies to avoid, so I did so and didn't get why I lost, you should add to the description that they should actually be collected for energy.
it's the natural thing to think because they look very vicious :)
I think the submarine looks too flat, the rest of the art is fine as it faces the player, but the submarine faces up so it's clear to see it has no depth.
maybe drawing it in perspective on paper and making it face the player would have been better.
I like the shooting mechanic! and the music is great!
the atmosphere is very unique and interesting, and so are the enemies, well done.
the level design is better then a lot of other entries here, it seems really thought out and it adds a lot.
your game is fun and challenging, and have it's own style :)
I think you die too quickly from the spikes without even realizing what happened, maybe lag a second after death before jumping to the start screen?
This is so fun!
I'm really impressed with how intuitive you managed to make the throwing physics, it feels really responsive and lets you aim well.
I agree that it's a big miss to not include any sounds in it.
The bonuses were nice, the frogs are cute, I think it looks good and probably would even work well on mobile.
good job ^^
Very nice game, well done!
The music is great!
I like how simple the controls are, just walk into things, the generated levels are interesting to traverse, and you really should consider the path you take, I could play for hours ^^
the graphics are clear and simple.
it's a good idea to have the top "console" print stats and what happened.
that way you can go into the game without any explanation and understand what happens.
is there an end? I stopped at floor 30.
Overall, a good entry that is fun to play.
Hooray! I won!
and I got to beat all my patients with a cane, 10/10 good medical treatment, thanks obama.
I enjoyed playing your game, it's just the right level of hard, it took some time getting the bottle arch right, but maybe I should have used the flash more, though it's less fun.
The sprites are crisp and fitting, I liked the doctor outfit with his blowing robe, good job on that.
I wouldn't recommend using the WASD keys as it is MUCH harder to use the attack keys of "ZXC" right below them. I would have even disabled the WASD unless you put other, right keyboard side keys to go with them.
overall the game is very amusing with the animations of the happy people being cured, well done.
That was... interesting? I obviously just tried clicking on all the buttons trying to find out some message or hidden image, didn't find any.. is there really anything to find?
The art is really surreal and jarring, and the animations do not flow..
I fed the baby, but is there an end implemented? how do I know when I won?
Id recommend removing the unneeded fruits entirely to make it more clear what fruits are currently needed.
Also obscuring the player view on when about to lose makes it harder to play, maybe a different indicator would have worked better.
The music is nice and fits the game, and I like the concept of planting trees to feed a hungry god.
McMutton, you can rotate if you have the Gear selected, in the bottom bar. when it's selected, Hold "R"/"S" and right click to rotate
Thanks McMutton ^^
Phaix, yeah, it's my bad, I was too busy getting the stuff done so I put off the tutorial/help too long, and never got to it.
Maybe next time I should add a simple in-game page for controls and goals even if I got no time. it's at least something.
Nice to see other Israelis in the competition :)
Nice models and textures!
You guys did good work on the levels and the puzzles were really smart in the way they were constructed, I did manage to get to the end.
I think you managed to create quite a lot, maybe expecting to make another 3 levels on top of that was a bit too much, so you shouldn't feel like you made too little.
The portal reminded me a bit of stargate, for obvious reasons XD
Well done on all your work.
This is amazing, the combination of a card game against a god and a top down fight, just work perfectly, you guys managed to pull off something great in a short jam really nice work! ^^
The UI, graphics, music and sounds are all good, and work together well. I really enjoyed playing!
The art and music are really good, and the simple playstyle was nice, I really liked the PC part.
I got stuck after compiling the text file into some purple file. I tried uploading it or dragging it onto things but didn't mange to make anything happen..
I really like the music and the art, the dialogs are not bad either.
Very good work on the player sprite and the background, the game has a great overall aesthetics.
I like how the collected energy items floats to the corner and how the energy swirls in the bar, nice touch.
also, LD36 is a nice name for a robot ;)
On the first pitfall, the branches in the background look like grass so you can't really tell it's a pit! got me there XD
The dead robot has a hit box way above it to walk on, should be easy to fix.
Too bad only some branches get semi-transparent, and some of the energy pickups are invisible until touched? at least there is one like that on the second level.
the sound or visual feedback on getting hurt or hitting enemies are missing, and would really help.
some sound of shooting would be nice too.
The one hit kill seems a bit too much..
Overall this is a great entry! well done!
Sound and music are awesome, and it was fun to play, I like these kind of games :)
I'm not sure why you'd say it has no content, both the mechanics are here and there are a lot of levels to play, nothing is missing.
The Chinese style is really well done throughout the game, and the level design is interesting.
Very well done, and indeed polished!
Oh god, I'm not good with horror games XD
Nice work on the atmosphere and sounds, it fits the horror theme and it made me jump a few times (though I'm an easy target).
It's a good idea to give info on the opening screen.
Do the enemies do something on touch? because I just went straight all the way and looked away when I saw them coming. I got home without troubles.. and barely used any stamina.
The environment is really nice too, did you do all the modeling and animations? if you did, then you did a really good job!
Overall a very nice game :)
I managed to kill all of the police, wasn't too hard to do.
Hexagonal games are nice, It's fun taking over territories like that, but I felt like the building was a bit crazy, being able to build the same building on every last tile of the game (which I did XD), and the battle system as I understood it, of higher number takes it all, was a bit too simple I think, I could throw 10 stacks of 10 against 1 stack of 30 with no effect at all..
btw, is there a difference between the opium and gambling buildings aside from money?
I manages to find no bugs which is really good! it works as it should, I do agree as said many times that the font is too small.
maybe I'll come back and try to get the other endings too, good job on this one.
this is really well made, from he shaking, animation, and sounds. you managed to add a lot in a short time! it really feels like a finished game.
sadly I'm not that good with this and the enemy numbers grow so fast, I didn't get far on normal.
sorry I don't really have better constructive criticism.. but that's a good sign right?
It's really hard without strafing :)
The range of both you and the enemies is too far, I could snipe all of them from afar.
I managed to kill all 100 monsters, took time locating the last ones.
you have a small typo int the opening text (invadinf), no big deal.
the music is very nice, overall a simple but nice entry.
Well made, the graphics are nice, and the controls are interesting.
Well that was fun :)
The graphics are really fine, especially the water,
you manged to add a lot of content, it had good humor and was fun to play.
I didn't really get how to use the blessing card, didn't manage to make it work..
but anyway, I got to the snacking god and finished the game. very well done on this entry!
I really enjoyed playing, I like how the balls keep rolling for a bit, and how the enemies drop, makes it feel like having a solid mass and shape.
The music is nice and fits well, at the last part it really gets hard but that's a good thing.
I think that the distance could have been controlled better with the scroll wheel, just a suggestion.
Overall, a very nice game that is fun to play, good job!
I liked the sprites, they are simple but look very nice, it seems well done, the levels are challenging and interesting without being frustrating.
It looks polished, and I found no bugs (R resets only the level), you did a great job!
The sound effects are just hilarious XD
And why did they have to kidnap the timelord if they stole his time machine?
and the them coming out of the tardis like that.. you get a 10/10 on the humor score from me :)
The mechanics of the game are fun, and do require getting good at timing the shots, the idea of the bonus crows and their location above the enemy line is a very good idea as it makes the movement flow and doesn't stop you from shooting the enemies as you're already above the shooting line.
The art is good for this game, the concept is funny, and the music fits.
Thanks for making me laugh, well done!
I'm surprised you didn't get more comments, this game is really cool!
I really like the radio scanning, and how the distance affects the length of the message and the frequency affects the clarity of it, very well made.
It's really fun exploring the planets and finding all the messages, I played it for quite a while but didn't manage to reach any end,I got to 85 energy and explored every tile of all 3 levels, but what now? I don't know how to continue..
the artwork is really nice, especially the spaceship part, It looks really cool. The music though is the best, it's perfect for this game.
I think you could at least mirror the player sprite when turning left/right, it shouldn't be hard to do.
I enjoyed this game, so thanks for posting it!
Nice to see another dev from Israel ^^
I really like the art style, you managed to to give it a unique feel, and the concept is very interesting and has a good potential in it, are you planning on finishing it some time? I would love to try it if you do!
The controls are smooth, the animation is pretty, and the battle mechanic is good, I'd imagine cannibalizing on your enemies can be a very fun part of the game if there are different kind of enemies.
even unfinished, it's well done, I'll wait for the postmortem.
@g_o right at the start, stand ontop of the dead robot and click the RMB, then you revive it. only then you can make him shoot with LMB.
Good job on actually hitting the finishing line and posting something complete! especially on your first 48h jam.
I do remember that era, and you did well capturing it here.
I agree about several notes here for possible additions like map, warn animations, and easier start.
But the game is fine as it is.
I do wonder how you made it work behind the scenes though, how do you keep track of the player location and possible turns?
considering how old it looks, hard to believe it's a unity game XD
Oh right, I need to remember that :)
Very interesting idea, and simple but fitting graphics, I managed to last for a while, but not sure how long is considered good :)
Hitting the single mirror on the other side is hard though if other ships are blocking you line to it.
I like the life bars on the ships but it's hard to see on low HP, maybe they should be more bright,or hover on top of the ship model.
A bit of music would have been nice to set some atmosphere.
nice entry, well done.
I like the idea of the sluggish movements, it's an interesting mechanic!
The graphics are nice, but the sounds were a bit harsh when burning buildings.
A very nice game overall :)
Was the light mechanic really necessary? I think the concept clashed with the gameplay here, holding the space down is not a skill based action, it's just menial and as such contributes nothing to the gameplay. I think this is a case of good on paper bad in practice kind of idea that should have been dropped, but that's only my opinion.
I never had an actual gameboy so I couldn't relate to the experience like many others here have, I only had to judge what I had in front of me.
the need to press escape to load the batteries, the need to have the batteries replaced only after it depleted, and the need to press the buttons using the mouse join together to make it hard to play.
The actual graphics and designs are nice, it looks good, and expressed the experience it tries to convey well.
On a technical level it works well and the controls are nice and tight. so good work on that.
Sorry if my comment sounds so negative, I'm only trying to give good feedback.
Considering the assets, levels, models and length of game I think an unzipped 700 MB is insane, may I ask what engine is this, and what program did you use?
maybe there are other engines that would give you better results for the certain game you're trying to make?
I think it needs a bit of polish, but hey, time is really short on this jam right?
I will just list what I found:
- the hit detection has bugs
- you can clip through objects in the level
- you are invincible so there is no real danger?
- the lighting effects the 3D text too
- the enemies can be knocked off outside the walk-able part of the level
- there are points where you can snipe enemies from above without ever getting in range (I'm not talking about the first "tutorial" ones of course)
The human sprite is really nice, and the basic mechanics have good potential. if you have time expand on it a bit :)
I like how grim it is about humanity, destroy the planet for hard cash XD The UI could have been better, and the bulldozer feels weird moving sideways, but I get that's not the main point of the game.
It gets really hard after a bit! well disasters: Storms, forest fires, acid rain, tornado(?), oil field fires, toxicity, and I probably missed some XD I got around 200,000~ dollars, seems like there is some disaster chasing you after you build too much? or maybe I just destroyed the planet too much, not sure. anyway I quickly lose all health when I build about one cube side with factories, I'm not sure how to avoid that ):
I like how you handled that planet generation and I'm curious about how you implemented the weather getting whacked? elaborate if you feel like it ^^
nice entry, and god luck with the score!
Really nice game, requires some thinking. I didn't manage to do all the levels :( The idea reminded me of the book "hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" XD
good work!
@gfm I was aware of that issue before, but wasn't sure how to solve it, if I used the hammer only some players would try to aim with the head and others with the handle, and the hammer follows objects and changes angles too... so I added a visible cursor to the handle. if you can think of a good solution I'd be happy to hear it ^^
@aj-weeks you can use the mouse-scroll to zoom in and look closer :) @neato in hindsight I think you're right, that mechanic was supposed to be challenging but it doesn't add much to the gameplay.
@mox those are good suggestions, thanks!
I love it! it reminds me of worms, just in 3D. and wacky gravity. as usual multiplayer games are hard to test on LD, but this could be fun to play with friends.
I got stuck on the core, is that supposed to happen?
I like the sound effects, they are funny XD the music is good too. overall I think it was really well made!
This would work great when playing with more people, I only played by myself though. I looks really flashy, the graphics looks great. Your addition of the falling plates and how it shows you it's about to fall really helps the gameplay. the car models are really cool too.
I imagine this game could be expanded on by adding pickups, but frankly it's simplicity is alluring.
the controls are slippery but I think it's more fun that way :) great job!
I really dig the style, I like how you managed to add a lot of art and story and tie them together, you did a lot in a short time. I'd love to see the rest and talk to the rest of the weird residence.
There are some places where the layer order is wrong, like in the underwater ground, or when passing over the hole in the sand, but nothing major. The way you made the plot so you get so go and talk to each person to go on is a good idea, it works well and keeps it interesting.
overall, it was fun playing, great work!
I tried playing on windows, but the game won't open at all... :( the window flashes for a millisecond and then closes.
It's fun after getting the hang of it, but it can be really counter-intuitive moving down while pressing up, while also not being able to use the down arrow to do the opposite.
you have a visual glitch at the ends of the screen, and behind moving pills, not sure what's causing it..
Haha cool game! I liked the silly jokes and the fact that they are carrots XD
Notes: - The music gets a bit repetitive after a while - maybe there need to be more feedback when you lose health, I didn't notice a few times - Health goes below zero if you get to much damage
I only manages to survive a few minutes, the idea is good, and I like bullet hell, good job!
I didn't manage to figure out how to play ): can you post the controls please? I'll try it again.
I need kitten souls to buy things, but I don't know how to get them. everything costs more then the 4 I start with, and I make 0 per turn...
That was simple but really fun! a very unique idea.
the models are really cute and the fox looks very derpy stuck upside down, I managed to get to 300 score, not sure if that's good or bad XD
only one small note, the fox doesn't always land exactly where you click, and sometimes catches the rodent anyway.
it was fun to play, good job!
I agree that an attack animation would have helped a lot, also some sounds effects. I like the idea, the way things spread and more enemies pop up, and the music fits really well! I didn't manage to actually win as I can't see where I aim, if I hit, and once there are a few clustered mushrooms it's really hard to kill them.
It's a really nice entry for your first jam, good work!
This is awesome ^^ I had a blast playing this! I like where you took the theme, in an ocean of small planets it's nice to see (I am to be blamed too though lol)
I like the simple art style, it's smart to use this flat style for things that are actually supposed to be flat. I think maybe the 3d was too much for the browser and it hurt the turn speed? it also stutters from time to time. I liked the enemies, and this was challenging, I got to the end and got my machine gun, that was great! it's a bit too powerful though. I found myself NOT wanting to buy health to keep the challenge :P
thanks for posting this! I think you did a great job. it's rare to see point and shoot games on LD.
That file size... makes me jealous of people who don't use unity.
lol the characters look cool, and you can shove things around, that's amusing.
notes: - It's pointless to tell the player to use the arrows to walk, on a sign he has to walk to, maybe put some hovering text next time? or just give the controlls in the text of the post. - The character can walk on the walls of the room - I can do without the game over screen, but if you die you have to close the game and start it again
I like the dash effect, nice work! Damn those grey monsters are hard XD the boots help so I think maybe you should have let the player find them first. I think I killed every monster and explored all the map, even the scary house lol
Can't wait for steam greenlight!
The main character sprite looks good, and the attacks you can use are cool.
I think the movement really takes away from the fun, the movement and jumps are way too fast even normally, if you press the down arrow you go with super speed and can even go backwards and get stuck outside the screen. I didn't notice there was a plant that hurts you, and didn't understand why I kept dying...
I like the graphics, all the food items and the main character, and enemies, they look great ^^ and I think the dragging mechanic is a really neat idea. Q and D are weird for the controls, but I found that A and D works too and the WASD is more familiar for me.
for your first entry with unity you did a great job! but yeah it does have some bugs.
The movement feels a bit too much like "Ice-skating" and you can climb on walls using friction, both of those can be solved in unity using "Physic Material", check it out : https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/class-PhysicMaterial.html
I have some experience with unity, so if you have any questions, just ask (:
Attacking doesn't seem to work, so I couldn't kill the ants and get the keys.. and if you place food objects in certain positions you fall through them instead of standing on top.
on one level the ceiling was hard, so I couldn't get through it, so I got stuck at that point.
seems like you invested a lot in this entry, good job!
Great mood as others have said! the music really fits and so does the UI (though the numbers are a bit unclear) I'm not sure if I won or lost? or if I actually found sol? it just says "thanks or playing" would have been nice to get a clear win/lose message. and I agree with TeamMonumental, maybe a higher rate of the pointing lines but with less accuracy would have made it more skill-based?
this is a very interesting entry, implemented well, great job! ^^
Your idea is great, I love that grab and run feel of it, and I think the part with the timer works great for that, I'll agree with others here that the asteroid shooting needs more challenge, but overall the game is challenging already!
I like the time limited resource gathering, that part looks really pretty, good work o the graphics! the music is nice, it fits and does not distract from the game itself. I'm still not sure what the resources do, I manage to stay rather long with all of them on zero without Dying.. a small tutorial/explanation would have helped.
Please expand on this, I'd love to play a game like that! I think it has potential. Great entry, thanks for making it ^^
Was really fun to play good work! A few things that could have helped: A required amount to finish a level, some items with higher value, maybe health that goes down when touching lave/getting hit by meteors?
I like how you made the menu, it looks good. great work on the models and particles.
Anyway, I enjoyed it, and it was really well made, aside from the edge issues from time to time, great entry!
The models and level design are really pretty! great job! (the eyes of the main characters appear as holes though) the visuals are so atmospheric, not adding any music to match it is a real shame, could have been really magical. The platforming is rather satisfying, but I didn't manage to get to all places to collect the orbs, but maybe I just haven't figured out the right way to get to them.
too bad it's missing a game over screen or auto restart when dying, as the R and ESC sometimes don't work and I have to close and re-open the game..
This is a good entry, that is REALLY missing some sound effects and music. there are a lot of free stuff to use on the internet.
This is so pretty ^^ As everyone said this was very relaxing, the mood was great and I enjoyed getting all those gems, one minor thing, on the last planet it's hard to complete all of it because if you try filling near the gate you exit the game and have to start over (maybe the portals could be high so they can only be reached using the middle button?). I REALLY like the design of the ship it's very elegant, and those particle effects were well done!
I'd really like a longer version with a few more features for mobile just to relax and pass time. Overall very good job :)
Omg what a gem, I love everything about this <3 The art style is charming, the level design is interesting and smart, the controls are tight, the effects are snappy. I have no idea how you managed such polish in 3 days, I wish I could do stuff at this level in ludum dare. you sir, get all my points XD
Th starting cutscene is really nice too it does look like you put effort to make it look the best.
I really like bullet hell games, I like the bullet patters you made they feel really good! The main wasp sprite and animation is good.
I like the idea of actually trying to collide with your enemies in a bullet hell, it's opposite to what we're used to in those games. I felt a bit too hard, and the controls are a bit uncomfortable, I'd prefer if the wasp just followed the mouse without pressing it down all the time for example. Anyway good job on the game, interesting concept for sure.
Love it! I'm a sucker for good pixelart :)
The sprites are adorable and so well done! together with the parallax stars and nice sounds, make it a pleasure to play through.
The mechanics are good too, it all feels "right". the idea to give up enemy collision worked really well, the dog fights feel really fun, wether I win of loose, I feel like I have more freedom of movement.
At first look this doesn't seem like it fits the "sacrifice" theme, but after playing a bit, you do feel the sacrifice with the bullets you choose and what you choose to do with them, so I think this is actually very appropriate.
overall, I think this is one of my favs as of now, very good job, I think you deserve a high score this game jam.
This is really fun to play! and I like the art style. I managed to get the devil as a candidate, am I luck? lol
I didn't find any bugs, so good job on that. I found "eye" to be the least useful, I'm not sure how I can know if someone is a killer based on the daily use items it shows me..
I like how you made it so overusing power makes them harder, as opposed to just using a cooldown. it's really smart, overall very well done!
@arthur-froger thanks for the review! I added a post-jam version with 2 more levels. feel free to try it out ^^
@kaitlin-quick I'm happy you liked it, I see what you mean with the sprite, that might have been a good idea.
@burnedkirby it is a shame, I hoped we will manage to put more levels in. about the repair I was considering adding an icon over the character showing a hammer, but there wasn't time in the end.
@ghostly-dev that's true, I still have to polish my platformer abilities on unity. removing the slide all together would have been a good idea. something to remember for next games I guess :)
I like the idea, it's good management game, and the pixel art is really cute, good work! ^^
I did see the bug where I can build without paying, and sometime I click on a building to buy but get a different one to build. and some things can't be bought at all even when you have the money. I played for a while but wasn't sure when the game ends? I think maybe the shop should offer to buy a catapult for a really high price and then you win when you buy that.
also there is a way to cheat, just buy a village, let it produce money until it gets below 10% then kill it and buy a new one. continue with more villages and you never have to give them anythingm what a bad ruler I am XD but it works and you get rich.
I think the villages should give more money the more happy they are so you want to give them stuff. I think this game could be really interesting if it got developed further, I can see myself playing a game like that for very long if it's balanced right.
lol I found 2 golds and a mayday device, it was very amusing, good job on you first game, I hope you get to make many more in the future!
Really well done, love the graphics and the gameplay, I feel the ship became a bit too unresponsive at time, not giving you the option to avoid obstacles even if you saw them in time.
the sound is also good music and sound effects. I didn't manage to get the hang of the thread points, it's really hard XD The sci-fi style is really nice too, that bit of neon and grain makes it look very fitting, a very good entry to a game jam, good job!
Really charming, will it be weird to say I like the credits screen? XD The idea is good, and I think you implemented it well, very good job, It's a fun game to play.
I must agree with previous comments I'd enjoy getting better more if it was less up to luck. but still a good game, well done.
I like the idea, feels like a day at the office XD But I agree there are serious navigation issues, units go to a different place than the one you clicked if they move at all, and sometimes they randomly stop half way..
Great opening and artwork, poor vegan dude lol the time limit is so challenging, it's a great way to implement this puzzle. you managed to make it fit the theme perfectly too, I really enjoyed playing this, great job!
As a vegan myself this hits close to home.. I like seeing games like this which are willing to stretch the boundaries of what a game "should" be. It's important to have these kinds of games.
As far as rating game wise, this get's very low "fun" score for obvious reasons, this is not a fun experience, even if it's a valuable experience overall. the use of art, audio, and atmosphere is amazingly done, very well done.
I just hope people get over this being "political" and see this for what games could be. much more than just silly toys, but actually delivering an experience.
Thanks for making this game, it'll sure be memorable.
Too bad you didn't have time to finish.. Did you do any of the graphics yourselves? the 3D models are really good, and some of the sprites are really well done too!
A few notes: you seem to have mixed very different visual assets in this game from 3D models, to HD sprites to lower quality sprites and then back to high quality effects, I think it would have been better for you to stick to one of these styles even if the cost to overall visual quality is severe. I'd prefer a consistent style(even bad) over inconsistent good style.
the platforming part with the lava is very hard, because the platforms movement is not consistent which makes it hard to get the hang of it.
About the attack animation, the enemy dies by touching you throughout the attack animation time, in unity you can add frame events to animations so that enemies will die only on the exact second of the swing, you should try it next time.
you had a good idea, I hope next LD you get enough time to make you game (It's really hard, believe me I know XD)
I agree it stutters a lot, maybe a low FPS issue? Try to display the fps as text in the game to test if that's the problem.
Aside form that the art is so fresh and cute! and the music is fun too.
@benpeterson Thanks! the thought bubble was supposed to make it more clear, it warns you before a desire changes, the "Give only" box is the current desires
I'll add a shorter simpler explanation for the gameplay @jieyi-na
@catusfelony Ouch XD yeah, it's pretty hard, we didn't have much time at the end to balance the game difficulty as much as we wanted, but it's still fun! thanks for playing
@generalbeans I love your ideas! maybe if we do a post-jam version we will try to add that!
@death-is-cold Hi, thanks, your game looks really interesting, I want to try it later. good luck!
@fredbernardo I agree about the time it takes, mines should probably cost less and treasures give more gold to shorten the game length.
@grangerer you're a bit evil XD I like that
@blotosaur that's part of the gameplay, the red line on the right is the cap on your max treasure, You have to build mines to increase the cap and move towards a full hoard to win.
@abdul-zakkar That is a good idea, the total gems will not go down like the gold coins do when you buy stuff.
@hcursino adding rage on mistakenly killing the wrong mole might be a great idea!
@mad-brokli that's a great idea, maybe some negative sound effect for that will help, definitely something to add in a next version.
Games feels and looks very polished! Awesome pixel art and The dialogue system was very well done! This was well done on all side, graphic wise, writing, planning, audio and coding.
The battle screen is great, cool effects. Music is very very nice, and the sound effects too.
The dialogue and characters are funny, even zero who was never actually on screen. I loved how the other characters notice what happens when you already recruit them. You managed to flesh out the characters even on such a short game, that's great.
lol that ending 4th wall crumbled down to dust, very well done. this game surely deserves a sequel! The credits song is so badass!
When did you have the time to do all this?! I'd be impressed but I suspect some dark blood ritual was employed. Definitely the best entry I've seen so far!
lol I didn't expect a response from the characters themselves, awesome
lol "No time to make a winning screen, but you've won!" that's the spirit of game jam.
I really liked the gameplay idea, very fast paced, need to time your punches right. I think having the helmet of the zombie be a different color than green help the player identify them in this high speed. other than that the zombie sprites were nice!
the punch sound is spot on.
Wow, this was amazing.
I simply ADORE the voice acting here, I want this game in an audio book version XD kudos to the voice actor, good work.
The attention to details here is great, like putting stuff on top of a bookshelf. being able to place things in different heights, sit on the table, it all makes it feel very homey. I didn't feel like in a rush playing this game.
The writing was great I kept waiting for the next time a new monologue will start playing. I do like doing decor in games, kinda like the sims. this games lets you put your own touch on things.
there are a lot of games in a game jam, but I didn't expect to find a game that makes you feel something, I'm already attached. I wish there were more games of this style..
I'm so happy you made this game, I'm very impressed.
the game failed to load in the web browser, I downloaded the windows version.
The art style is amazing, I love it, pretty dark. the mouse is adorable. very nice work on the walking if felt really good!
a bit of background music would have really helped set the atmosphere, but maybe the silence was supposed to be part of the creepiness?
The minigames are really good! I liked the part with the nun XD very creepy, the pipes took a lot of time, I'm still not sure what I was supposed to do with the xylophone minigame, but it was fun trying to follow along the colors.
You totally nailed the mood, I would totally play a longer version of a game like this, great work!
omg the cursor is so cute, and The opening screen is good too.
I love the cat-chy music! and the glowy effects, really pretty. the cooldown on the laser is way too long I think.
very nice work on the level, both the visuals and gameplay, I agree with others here you managed to get a lot in here and do it well. the in-game messages are really funny I love all the cat-pun material, 9 lives, vacuum enemies, knocking down bottles etc..
It was really fun to play and fight the bosses, good job!
When moving the sprite sometime takes time to face the correct direction, and in the transition sometimes goes through a sprite of the wrong direction.
The human sprite is very well done! I think it would have been better if all the bushes, items, and trees were isometric like the orange tree.
Some basic sound effects would have helped greatly, but the music is nice and relaxing.
You got some very nice looking art in! and it looks like the mechanics are in too, I guess you ran out of time getting all the art in?
I think making this game in pure 2D would have displayed the art better. I like how you slowly get new cards so you have the time to learn what they do.
This game has potential, it seems like it would have been a lot of fun to play if you hade more time to finish it and get everything in.
This was very sweet, I love the choice this game gives you with creating your own characters, this was fun to play, Sadly my drawing skill are really low, but then again it only made the story funnier XD
Good job!
I love the art so clean and smooth, pleasant to the eyes. Nice effect on the engines! I liked that
I think some background asteroids, or otherwise stationary object, would help see the movement, because otherwise when flying forward and nothing on screen, with a fixed space background it visually seems as if you are not moving at all.
Rotating the ship should probably be around it's center, looks awkward that the axis appears to be at the cockpit
Explosion animation seems too slow, maybe a faster frame rate? adding asteroid to collide with would have added a lot here too!
I like the way you made things float, it looks very natural. I really like this king of games, would totally love to play it again if it ever got expanded.
Great idea and good execution, well done!
The graphics look very realistic! I'm not sure if it's 2D, 3D or something in between.
It's like spore, in a good way, I liked the idea of manually mixing genes. The controls work well for this though a screen listing the key mapping would help.
I'm not sure how many mutations there are, I found quite a few. the game is cool and fun to play, it also fits the them pretty well, good work!
This is really nice! very smart idea and good execution, the graphics are simple and clear. It took me a minute to realize how you play, you should add in the description that standing next to a "=" sign turns you into the calculated number.
I hope people play it cause most people don't like math XD but I like this game, good job! I think it's very smart and unique.
The perspective is a little confusing, some explanation on how to play would also help.
The intro is really cute, and good job on the end animation!
This game is so bad ass! I love it. I had a lot of fun playing till the end, does the monster actually run away from you in the end?! feels so good.
It's real panic mode going around collecting parts and dodging while trying not to get your vehicle ruined. The idea is really cool, and it fits perfectly to the theme.
The animated sprites are adorably funny, great animation skills. they are fun to look at.
also, nice job making a tutorial! I never have time to get one in. (btw, the mouse in the tutorial screen makes it really hard to click on things cause it moves around so much, I didn't feel the same problem in the main level)
Overall I really like it, great entry I hope you get high scores!
it's really hard to get to the end, I got to the last level but didn't manage to finish it..
I like the 3D yet 2D platformer approach!
The visuals are creepy and interesting, very good job on the 3D modeling! I like all the random stuff in the background. the game looks really good and the wall climbing makes it interesting.
I like the floating UI in the corner, it looks interesting. The music is very pleasant when your world is forming up, the combination of gameplay and dynamic music is very well made here, nice work!
This was fascinating to play with.
the text can be hard to read, maybe it should be in the top of the screen, or otherwise made to pop out over the BG.
Very nice touch with the forest fires(?) this is very interesting I love god games.
That intro made me laugh lol
I like the art style, I love that you can actually walk beneath the tables like a rat would XD but for some reason in the later parts you no longer can.
Took me time but I found the exit, this spy-like game was pretty fun, at some tight places it can be a bit hard.
the zoom in in the first tunnel is a bit too close, and some rare walls flicker on top of each other, but aside from that I didn't see any issues
the music fits nice to the games, overall, well done ^^
I love the idea with the door an people coming in and the game is really funny, I love reading all the weird requests people have. The audio works well, and the sprites are good.
It's hard but can still be hard to play, I just pressed back and then play each time I run out of money, and managed to make a few potions. I think the idea Jahwffrey gave of having failure teach you properties about an ingredient together with lower costs could make this game flow very nicely!
maybe combining zero/one ingredient should be disabled if it never makes anything anyway? I didn't find any two ingredients that make a potion too, only 3. when going back and starting a new game your money reset but you keep your past potions.
Overall very cool idea for the theme, nice work!
Managed to get 265 score.
I love the visuals on this game! and the idea to play around a vortex like that is very cool. I liked how you did the vortex, and the icebergs.
always good to have a good how to screen!
The music is fitting, this game can be really addictive. you got a lot of mechanics in for a short jam time, very well done.
too sad that Ulf will not survive.. RIP.
I like the concept, very fitting to the theme, very meta.
I loved seeing how the visuals improved over time, liked the cars coming in the end. Would have been nice if the coins were coin sprites instead of dots, at least after upgrading the visuals, just a suggestion.
The progression was done well, coins are worthwhile at the start, then they are not, afterwards same with begging, and then with basking, nice progression.
Very good entry for a first LD! especially for actually finishing a game, which can be hard.
The art is simple but charming!
Really cool that the game changed axes like that, top-down to platformer, really cool! I like how it keeps giving you mechanics to work with.
That cell guy was so creepy XD
Sadly I had to give up mid way, the game is too "tight", jumps need to be correct with little room for error, and once the hunger came in you also had to do everything on a very tight time, once the hunger ticks it makes you bounce so basically you're dead the moment the first hunger ticks. The same is with the HP bar, once you hit a laser you just bounce off to another laser until you die and you can't really do anything to escape..
I did love the NPCs and their dialogue, you can see this is very well made, and also pleasing to the eye, good job!
This feels very retro lol, even with only black and white you managed to make a very nice aesthetic, it looks good visually.
there is sometimes graphic artifacts when the screen moves fast, but it's really minor. the sound effect on the coins seems too delayed.
I like the sparkle on the double jump, it's a good idea it was really fun killing the big cat guy ^^
I finished with 109 coins, one got stuck in fluid XD you also managed to make a pretty big level, the game is actually really fun to play! very well done.
I liked the fast paced gameplay, controls feel tight.
I like the graphics, it reminded me of super meat boy, the effects on the soul wells were pretty great too, good work. The music fits perfectly and it's also pretty catchy ^^
The idea is great though I felt like no matter what i do I kept losing about the same souls as I was getting, the "tax" on everything combined to being too high to reach satisfying revenues from automating stuff. I'd really like the option to deconstruct stuff and maybe even floors to better plan traps etc, that could have been cool.
Overall it was fun to play, it feels pretty good. great job!
@mad-brokli I felt that the crossbows miss too often, so the 0.25 cost would minimize a lot of their revenue, combine that with the 0.2 cost for a human spawner, you lose 0.45 even in the best case scenario, if the crossbow misses once (which happens often) that's 0.7 loss, then angels come in and they try to hit those instead, and miss..
I tried a spawner alone, too slow for any benefit, tried it with a crossbow near it but the crossbow still shooting at other stuff reduced that revenue, it exists but very slow.
I tried making a human attracting mushroom, surrounding it with three spawners and two crossbows, and it was still pretty slow.
I think the crossbows need to hit more often, spawners spawn more often, and taxes to be reduced a bit. well I hope that helps, but that's just my impression so take it with a grain of salt.
That's a fun game, I found using the numbers for elements a bit uncomfortable, but managed to get the hang of it. the enemies cannot be hit when they stand inside a doorway as the bullets seem to despawn right in front of them, but it doesn't happen too frequently.
I like the healing and paper rock scissors mechanic, you can use different strategies with that, that's a really nice idea! does the game ever end? I kept moving on from level to level, the game is hard at first until you realize all the mechanics and how to use them, which is a good thing.
The graphics are really nice and the audio fits right in. overall you did a very good job! I enjoyed playing this game.
We also made a game about a hoarding dragon, life as a dragon is indeed hard XD
I simply love the art! it's very bright and colorful. but still clean. You did a good job making the game understandable, from the opening explanation screen to the warnings in game, I manage to get my hoard filled after battling some hobos, the ending is kind of sad..
I also saw no bugs or issues, very well made, gameplay is smooth this is a great entry!
The art looks amazing! love it. good work on that. Also you start butt naked lol
fighting the boss was pretty hard, I can't manage to evade his fire attack even with the fastest boots. maybe the fireballs need to move slower? or at least the fans need to open wider so you can slip between them, like in bullet hell. especially because the ground fire doesn't let you back away far enough to let the fire fan out so you can slip between.
I agree with others here, the sounds are a bit grating. and some background music would be a big improvement preferably something fast and urgent.
I like the general idea of running around looking for loot in a hurry to fight a boss, and the boss is cool too! the items are interesting and helpful, and there are some different weapons to find, on a gamejam time budget that's really nice you managed to get that all in.
Overall I like it very much, great job!
The music set a really strong mood, I love it, the art too, this is very lovecraftian.
there is a weird space between the wall sprites, and sometimes the player sprites gets under a wall, when it should be above it.
I like the concept with the mind breaking and the limited steps, took me some times to realize the spikes are NOT time based, but just flip each time you take a step. I also likes the overhead halo as an "hp bar", good idea.
Overall it's a fun game, too bad there are some visual glitches, but that's a small issue. And OMG the image of the great one at the end was spectacular, very good work you guys!
The artwork is so clean and beautiful, and the sound is tight, feels very good to play. The small particles too, it all feels very polished.
the music is super relaxing, and I liked the idea and how it ties to the theme. I'm still not sure what the water is for, as I finished the game without using it at all.
The ghosts are really cute!
It's only a shame it's too short, I'd play more.
Great execution, well done.
