Great Game, really enjoyed it, I would suggest making an option to skip dialogue as it can get tedious

Great Game, really enjoyed it, I would suggest making an option to skip dialogue as it can get tedious
This is insane! I love how such simple mechanics can turn into such a complex and captivating experience! The aesthetic of a children's story is so well done! Probably my favorite game so far!
Extremely well done! It was fun trying to be as outrageous as possible with the drawings and then seeing it all play out. This team should be proud!
This is very impressive for a jam game! The voice acting was very thorough and the drawing worked flawlessly. Made for some great comedic scenes. The story was longer than I expected too which was nice. Additionally, the backgrounds and the music both fit quite nicely with the rest of the game, though the music did get a little repetitive after a while. All things considered, though, this is a really complete package and a pretty polished one, at that!
This game is spectacular!! What a masterpiece! So much thought was put into every part, from the hands moving, to the outline of drawings on the sticks, to all the voice acting. Really well put together and we need more games like this! I haven't seen anything like this before!
I am in love with this submission, my very favorite so far ... the voice, the storytelling... everything ... this is now my favorite LD submission, I speak sincerely

... just one detail ... gender neutral pronouns can make stories a lot easier to make perhaps ...

@deacon Thank you for playing! Yeah, we really should have done it. At first, we were hoping to make a simple and short story, but it turned out to be too bloated with unnecessary voice lines, and long replicas.
@adam-gaskins @paragonraptors @mattwagar Thanks a lot for the feedback! We are glad you've enjoyed the game.
@guitarbro Thank you! Our musician was worried about repetitiveness of the music, but we had no time to do something about it sadly. Also the story should have been a lot shorter, with less unnecessary narrator lines, but i've got carried away and had no time to cut the fat.
@velvetlobster Thank you! Your drawings are super cute  I was planning to make rogue character genderless and let the player decide. That's why I've tried my best not to use any pronouns when talking about this character. But in the end I had to come up with an explanation on how the rogue was able to defeat the princess, so rogue got a gender in the end. I agree that a gender-neutral story would have been perfect for this type of game, but sadly it was too hard to do even with one character. At least for me, not a native speaker. But I'm really glad that you have enjoyed the game! Thanks for playing and leaving a feedback!
hi guys. we like it very much. pls go for more diffrent backgrounds, actors etc. it is super cute funny and u forget little bit time when u playing the game. more space for painting diffrent parts of the story. top game guys !!!!
This was a lot of fun! The humor and audio was spot on. Also the movement animation for the characters added a lot. Good work!
Better then most of the later telltale games :-D
Really funny story and game! Put a smile on my face the whole time. Thanks for bringing it by the stream!
*Impressions in no specific order, with spoilers (duh):* Great narration! I do appreciate that you kept the written text, too. The story ties it all so well together. I love the background style, it's relatively simple but very pretty and I like the muted palette. I'm pleasantly surprised it runs so smoothly even in browser, just the mouse drawing drags a little (it's slow), but that's not really a problem. "The body looks fit, but almost elegant." What a cruel rejection by the bandit (the first time, at least). I also like that you made 3 default responses work in every situation, somehow! I was just disappointed that the bandit was a lady, a gay romance was more fun (for me). But it worked great as a reference to Lord of the Rings (if it was meant that way, I mean)!
This was seriously charming. I only wish I had realized that the pen size could be changed sooner! I probably spent way too long on the drawings, haha. Also there were some points where the characters displayed weird—like they became separated from their "sticks"? But overall, it worked pretty well, and it was fun to see my cat become an "old man." Screen Shot 2019-10-08 at 10.52.31 PM.png
This was really inventive! Was fun to make up my own characters : D
What an awesome idea, and really well-executed, too! I'd love to see a polished and extended version of this released as a full-fledged game on Steam.
Two suggestions. I was a bit disappointed, after trying so hard to draw a girl with my nonexistent artistic skills, to have the game immediately call her "Karl" and refer to her as a "him." Maybe you could offer the player to choose the gender in the beginning? Also, I would suggest making the option to change the brush size more conspicuous - if I hadn't read one of the other comments, I'd have no idea it was there.
First of all, I loved the game, one of the more creative games I played in this jam and brilliant use of the jam's theme. I was really trying to draw call characters for my story XD. I enjoy the concept of the narrator telling a story. The voice acting is so funny. I am amazed by how you had time to do the voice acting. For me 5* on audio. The art style is marvellous. everything is coherent with the game environment. It is well made and really polished. Very good job!
This was a lot of fun! I greatly enjoyed drawing funny characters and seeing them play out on screen.
My biggest complaint is that for a large portion of the game, you aren't prompted on what to draw, so the drawings don't quite match up with what's to come after. Although, the results of the mismatch could be pretty funny. Maybe a middleground would be to let players hear a sample of that character's voice before drawing them?
Overall though, it was a very fun little game! Great work!
This is such an innovative idea being able to draw your characters and parts of the story while listening to a story although it does make it difficult when you have to draw the person before you know who it is and take a chance, the music fits nicely and the background art is spot on. well done on the voice acting!
Really cool game! It is the best concept that I see in this jam so far. The story was really funny! Great entry!
This is by one of the best LD games I have played. The idea of drawing your own character and crucial story character just makes it awesome and mesmerizing. Love the voice acting! it goes really well with the game.
I take part in ludum dare for a couple of years, but for sure I will not forget your entry. It was amazing! I had a lot of fun and laugh hard!
zajawka.jpg
Very nice. With some work this could make a great story creating tool.
i put giant boobies on my character and then found out he was named karl. but he was indeed beautiful.
This was fun! Coincidentally my bandit leader became a buff shrek with guns, which seemed to fit in well with the story: 8lnIyvx.png, and my artifact was just a plain sword which worked well.
The game could have potential, for something like a kids story game. Maybe have it tell small stories about some characters in different parts of the world in episodes, so not to play it through in one story telling session, and then having the drawn characters bump into each other and interact later on.
Thank you for pumping drawing skills, heh). But so the idea is cool.
I'm in awe. This is the most amazing jam game I've seen in my life. Congratulations!
@feingehacktes @maggardjosh @kromeboy @tonzuko @cybersoftuk @caberu @noobdev @jonno @paulsams Thank you for playing our game!
@erebus Thanks a lot for playing the game on stream!
@ynneblack Yeah, I stole the plot twist straight from LOTR  I was trying to make the rogue character genderless, but had to come up with some explanation on how he defeated the queen. So I've gone with the LoTR explanation. Thanks you for the feedback!
@karwei Haha, what a cute cat  Your "hero" looks great too! And thank you for the feedback, we will try to figure out a bug with sticks.
@xlomid Yeah, we were thinking about letting the player choose a gender (and even entering a name) for the characters. But we had to scrap this idea, because of the voiceover. We barely had time to record all the voice lines for this story, and if we had to do alternate ones for different genders we would have never finished the game in time. Thanks a lot for playing and leaving feedback!
@pedro-rosa Thank you! The voice lines for most characters were actually recorded in one take, to make them more "cheesy":cheese:, and to spend as little time as possible (because we had a lot of lines to record). The only character that took a lot of time to record was the narrator, and he turned out to be the most boring one (at least in my opinion).
@selkkie Thank you for plating! We were actually hoping for mismatches and tried to make it a "punchline" of the game. But yeah, if you want to hear a cohesive story, it could be annoying.
@wdebowicz Haha! Punk king is just perfect for this story in my opinion! Thank you for playing!
@ladypossum Well, you never know these days what hidden in the pant of a big-boobied hero :smirk:
@jefvel God damn, that's some wild drawings! May I steal the bandit for my LD avatar? :smirk: It's too good. And your idea with small stories is great, thank you! We will consider it when we start working on a post-jam version ("if we start" should I say).
OK, this is the most adoreable story driven game here. The idea is smart, the feauture with drawing is smooth as hell, I think this game should be released on mobile platforms for kids!
Holy polish!
This was really awesome! Had a lot of fun. Great job!
This is incredible! It's almost like Mad-libs for drawing. Great mix of giving players a slight hint as what to draw, and then options about how to proceed.
The best game. I love it!
@annie-owl sure, it's yours now! Good luck on the post jam game!
Really nice approach to the theme. I enjoyed the voiceover. The idea reminds me of BattleBock Theather Cutscenes Style. Great Job!
Very nice game! Interesting gameplay, atmospheric music, professional voice acting, enjoyable interactive and cute graphics. Best wishes for you and thx for your work. Good luck! ^^
kiss.png Very interesting entry. I really liked how the color flowed out when drawing. It had a very nice feel. Also got very happy with the twist for the rogue as I happened to make it the correct character. As someone before pointed out, I would have wished for a less gendered story to make it perfect. There was also some cases where it felt like the z-order of the drawn sprites and the sticks weren't matching when many were in the same spot. Another graphical detail was that they perhaps were too much in the same place sometimes and that the most important character in the group didn't get put on top. But those are just minor tweaks. Overall a very very well made game!
Wow, what a masterpiece! A bit tedious, but great indeed! Would like to have the way to save the drawings, just to share. :D
Wow this is very polished! The voiceover was the best part - wishing y'all the best of luck <3
That's amazing! Incredible how you guys did this in so short time! I really had a great time playing it. 5:star:
That's incredible! I love the art, the story telling, the voice over. The drawing mechanics along with the choices I was able to do made me laugh a couple times. I really wish you had Ctrl+Z though, haha. Amazing job!
That was truly fantastic. I thought it was over at one point, but it just kept going! The narration was amazing, art was awesome.
Untitled01.png I am no mere man, i am a... *cough* CAT!
Great entry, LOVED it, i dont really have words other than, i wish all the characters would come out at the end as like they do in the theatres, where they come out and bow, say thank you and leave, amazing performance!
Also! the ability to undo, or to erase would be welcome haha
beautiful and cool game!!!!! I love the art style and the gameplay of create draws!!!! Very imersive!
I drew quite great characters so I will rate you high in Graphics.
This was very sweet, I love the choice this game gives you with creating your own characters, this was fun to play, Sadly my drawing skill are really low, but then again it only made the story funnier XD
Good job!
@rayne @jake-white @navrcl @chad-cable @denissobolev @tony-redmer @rodrigo-denubila @nisovin @plepletier Thank you for playing! We are glad you liked the game!
@artyom-volkov Thank you for the feedback! If we manage to overcome our laziness, we would consider the idea of a mobile kids game
@dmanzano101 We were heavily inspired by BattleBlock Theater cutscenes  It was one of the reference videos for our artist and programmer.
@w0lfenstein Thanks a lot for your kind words, but my voice acting still makes me feel embarrassed when I see other people play the game :pensive:
@local-minimum Thank you for your feedback! Yeah, I wish I was able to write a more neutral story, but alas even this story was hard for me. We were thinking to let the player choose gender or name (or even name the characters), but this would make voice over impossible to do in such a short period of time. So we ended up with what we have.
@yngvarr Thank you for the feedback, and sorry for the tediousness of the story at times  And yeah, we were even thinking about the feature, where you can save your story as a video file, or a gif. But we barely had time to implement all of the current features in 3 days.
@suvrik Thank you! We are glad we made you laugh
@kekkodude Thank you! Damn, that idea is great! I wish we had it before the jam ended, it wasn't hard to implement. Believe it or not, but the eraser tool IS hard to implement, because of the way we do cardboard cutout effect
@brainoid You should have shown them! It's great to see what kind of characters people draw.
@cyberstarlight Thank you! We were hoping, that even people with bad drawing skills (like myself) would enjoy the game, so I'm glad that we achieved that goal.
My only regret is that my wife is a giant chilli pepper face looking thing, I wanted that sweet sweet flower girl.
So because I really enjoyed the concept of this game, I showed it to my partner! We agreed on a few features that would greatly improve it (though I've seen them mentioned in some comments as I scrolled down to comment myself):
• eraser and/or back button
• on-screen buttons for changing brush size or letting people change it with their keyboard too (+-, maybe?), in case their mouse wheel doesn't work (is there some other control we didn't find?) or they are using tablet
• it'd be fun if you recreated some fairytales in this form
Either way, they had a *ton* of fun and since I didn't spoil them who the characters will be, they went with a different theme!

art style on pointt
This was a really great experience :) Loved the game and the concept! Really good job making this one. Maybe having an erase button would be great, but I think I understand why you didn't have one (guess it's related to the way you actually draw by stacking strokes). Anyway, loved it :)
This was one amazing experience! For the first few characters I kinda lacked information what they are supposed to be, therefore I drew them really unfitting. Which made it all the more hilarious, especially paired with the weird story choices I made and the super accented voice acting :D The concept in itself is insanely cute and this kind of storytelling has a lot of potential! You realised it fully well for an LD entry, I am in awe :) You really poured a lot of soul into this entry with your cute stories. The graphics and music are super good, too! The soundtrack doesn't even become repititve, I could listen to it all day ^^ Great job!
Folks, you had me howling with laughter! I had way to much fun and the voices, i felt like in some Monthy Python Sketch. Thank you! The idea is cool, the mood is fabulous, the gamemechanik is simple but absolut fun! 2.png
this is quite impressive! the art is fantastic, and i imagine it must've taken a lot of coordination to do full voice acting in the scope of a jam.
i don't have much to add beyond the criticisms already mentioned in other comments: an eraser or undo of some sort would be a very nice addition, and a gender neutral protagonist would've probably suited the drawing mechanic much better (and even ignoring that, the "twist" of making the rogue a woman feels like a missed opportunity)
Unique and fun, great effort!
It's always surprising to see such polished entries for Game Jams. This one is fantastic, what a simple drawing mechanic can do to the game. One of the bests!
loved the game!
a great game for kids!
One of the best games of the jam, Storytelling, graphics, music, everything is brilliant! you should consider further develop this into an educational game. Good job
Wow this is a really good use of the theme. I also may have spent too much time drawing. I really enjoyed this little adventure.
Very fun game! Would be nice to have an eraser. Story was great, although not sure if there are more than one outcome because only played it once. Music was pretty fitting. Voiceovers were amazing, and so are the background visuals!
...Spent too much time trying to draw all the characters, though.
really enjoyable, a very fun game with an awful lot of polish, one of my favoirte games from the jam yet
What an adorable game. It is sooo polished and good looking. The Music is awesome and the whole game feels so finished. I totally laughed the whole way through it. Only "complains on very high level" is that maybe you could write some short tip of what you have to draw. Maybe some more drawing possibilities, but thats it.Everything else was really awesom.
Please, please make it to a full game. I mean it's already so close to a full game in the current state. I would really enjoy seeing it with a longer story or maybe some different stories in general.
An Awesome game in that amount of Time. Well done guys. Really breathtaking ;)
BTW, my Story ended that I kissed my whole way trough and I ended to be married to a female mimik chest and her group of mimik barels :)
