LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Blót by Imphenzia 2018-12-05T01:06:41Z

Love that you added a web version :D. The art and animations is spectacular. Honestly this is such a solid looking game. However, the mechanics weren't as solid. I found myself falling off the edge a bunch, and restarting. Clever use of the theme, though! And I liked the lightning encouraging urgency!

Space Station Gamma-7 by kelbg 2018-12-03T20:13:41Z

I love the visuals! Very solid look for the spaceships and their animation. The concept is there. I agree the controls were difficult, but I see where you were going with this!

Zoe and the Polypantheon by Carraka 2018-12-13T08:05:11Z

I loved it! I got the gummy bear ending :D

Twist of Souls by franfox 2018-12-05T12:43:54Z

Very well polished and gorgeous visuals! Loved the dust on jumps and sounds and animations. Very impressive. Conceptually I'm not crazy about the precision platforming, but upside down. I think the mechanics could have been a bit more adventurous.

Head Over Hooves: My Heart Bleats For You by Blarfnip 2018-12-13T08:22:19Z

Now I wanna meet goats at my local cafe!

Hunger Sings by Swanijam 2018-12-03T20:22:40Z

Not biased at all but, I think this game was pretty darn rad :sunglasses:

Gossip by MattWagar 2018-12-03T20:02:37Z

Oh oops! It was set to draft and not public on Itch.io. It's public now!

Gossip by MattWagar 2018-12-04T21:04:01Z

Hey everyone! I fixed that major bug with the button click errors. My bad for those who have been having problems!

Gossip by MattWagar 2018-12-04T22:44:46Z

I wanted to do a lot more with this and make the interactions a bit more interesting than just the linear flow it has, but I was really pressed for time.

F R I E N D G U N by Hydezeke 2018-12-05T01:00:41Z

THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC!! The characters and dialog is spectacular. The music that plays is so well placed! And the mechanic is just clever and would love to see you go further with this. How did you do your dialog system? It's so quirky and fun looking and I love it!

Soundmarine by Dustyroom 2019-10-08T18:44:21Z

Big wow! This game is dripping with vibes and good times. Amazing art, shaders, particles, and overall aesthetic. Loved exploring through this floating island paradise with good music growing along the way. Easily in my top 5 favs for this jam!!

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-09T20:17:37Z

Super neat game. Familiar aesthetic, but innovative mechanics. It was a little hard to follow at times, but I think I got the hang of it. I won on my first play-through.

VOID by Almax 2019-10-08T01:19:06Z

This is gorgeous!! Spectacular for 72 hours! I love the models, hex grid, AI, particle effects. It's so polished for a jam game!

Nothing to Say by celia14 2019-10-08T01:33:10Z

Super innovative! Always cool to see obscure mechanics that affect the narrative!

The Song of Calirum by Blizary 2019-10-09T19:21:46Z

This game is breathtaking! For a jam game, you practically made a fully releasable game you could ship. This game reminds me a lot of Cultist Simulator, but more streamlined and approachable. After playing it three times I understood what each of the resources did, and certain events I need to plan for. While a bit repetitive at the beginning, there was enough variation to make each play-through meaningful and different. Great job!

Necrofenser Hero by Guilb 2019-10-09T19:40:26Z

Cool style. Really appreciate voxel art games getting more popular.

Color me Blind by Re-Markable 2019-10-08T19:55:33Z

Super neat idea! I've never seen mechanics like this before, and it was so peaceful and exciting to explore and bring life to this world. Great character design and animation too! Good job!

Draw Your Own Adventure! by detectiveLosos 2019-10-08T03:13:52Z

This game is spectacular!! What a masterpiece! So much thought was put into every part, from the hands moving, to the outline of drawings on the sticks, to all the voice acting. Really well put together and we need more games like this! I haven't seen anything like this before!

The Persistent Thief by Darylsteak 2019-10-09T20:25:49Z

Love the pixel aesthetic. Cool level design. Super impressive that you had a whole tutorial. My only complaint is that there are way too many buttons to remember. Very impressive for a compo.

Tale of the Toad King by Beebo Studios 2019-10-08T02:01:45Z

It's so weird and cute and amazing. The voice acting was hilarious. Very cohesive, and well thought out world.

Seedlings by Raed 2019-10-08T17:29:53Z

You had me at "Let go of your inner demons by focusing on your inner garden". This game was so peaceful and calming, but also so innovative! I haven't seen a wind mechanic used like this before, and for a gardening game of all things! Also very pleasantly surprised that the wind particles actually change directions based on your gusts. Super cute art, cohesive, and perfect for this jam! Bravo!

BitterSweet by Conroy 2019-10-08T17:02:20Z

I'm assuming this was an asset flip, so it's hard to tell what you did and didn't do. But I'll assume you at least did the level design and the candy mechanics. In terms of level design, I think it's all laid out very thoughtfully. Definitely conducive to a non-linear experience, but knowing generally areas with light are where enemies are. It was fun to go off the road and find a graveyard with cute particle effects. In terms of the candy mechanic I didn't quite understand it. I mostly was just hitting enemies until I eventually died. Also the UI for both the candy and health is pretty bare bones. If this is your first time using Unity and wanted to throw together assets to make a cohesive game, I think you did a great job!

HEARTSCAPE by ZakAmana 2019-10-08T18:55:47Z

Easily one of the best games I've played for this jam. You should really build this into a full game! It would be insanely cool as a multiplayer game too. So cohesive, great art, simple concept but done amazingly. This game really could go places!

The Game of Mao by Danny88881 2019-10-08T01:52:05Z

Everything felt bouncy and fun in all the best ways. Good animation, clever mechanics, and just all around a good time.

Mergem by Elnu 2019-10-08T02:12:26Z

Super cool concept. Love the UI animations and art. I enjoyed mixing things together and seeing new things emerge.

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-09T21:49:31Z

This game is fantastic! Super innovative and exciting to make new words. The art style is gorgeous as well. Outstanding job!

The Life Spirit by Cobear25 2019-10-08T02:50:27Z

As someone who also tried (and failed) attempting a hexagonal grid for a different game jam, I'm super impressed! Neat concept too, haven't seen something quite like this before.

Little Guardian by JUSTCAMH 2019-10-09T20:37:20Z

Super neat game. Boss fighters are so cool, and the round world really added dimension to it. A platformer where you shoot things is a little overdone, but yours definitely separates itself from the rest. Great art, and great music.

Oracle Pine by Swanijam 2019-10-08T01:13:11Z

Absolutely amazing. Stunning. Without a doubt one of the best games I've played for this jam. The music, the mood, the story, the graphics: they were all on point!!

Ritual by Unicorn Studios 2019-10-09T21:27:39Z

Super moody. Love what you did with the snow on the trees. The warmth mechanic was clever too, made moving around a bit more stressful. I like that you made item descriptions important. Demon ritual games are awesome and we need more of them!

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T18:16:53Z

Spectacular art direction, and such a cool player controller. This game fits the theme so well, has such a great message, and everything about it is so cute. With a bit more polish I could definitely see this being shippable. Great Job!

Negation by gasgiant 2019-10-09T05:04:07Z

This is actually the best game of this jam. You did it. Congrats. The debate is over. No need to wait for results in 20 days @ludumdare we already found the best game.

Return The Stars by BanJaxe 2019-10-09T22:17:10Z

This game is gorgeous! The concept was simple enough to understand without needing any instructions. And the music and audio really added to the mood. You took something pretty simple, and added so much juice to it to really make dangerous moments feel stressful, and the safe center to feel comforting. I liked that it was non-linear, but I will admit at first I went to the hardest section and died very quickly. All in all, bravo! Super juicy game!

little BEETLE bottle BATTLE by AP Thomson 2019-10-09T21:06:18Z

Awesome concept! Usually I'm not too into Match 3 games, but I love the strategy and resource management aspects. It really married 2 genres together in the best ways. I wish the second phase was a little longer because I liked that more than the match 3 phase of the game, but all in all, great job!

LD46 — Keep it alive

HYPERHOP: GALACTIC LANCER by Swanijam 2020-05-01T21:00:41Z

@theqiwiboy Thank you and your brother so much for playing! We also wanted to make a final boss fight with the big planet but only so much you can do in 72 hours. We were surprised we could crank out 3 planets honestly!!
