LD42 — Running out of space

TrackBlasters by paulloz 2018-08-16T22:23:12Z

First, I was extremely impressed by the art. The art is absolutely gorgeous and gives a very good vibe on the mood of the game. The gameplay is also very interesting, albeit I wasn't exactly sure what the winning conditions were, I still had a lot of fun completing the circuit as many times as I could. The audio is on point, fast beats and even the small annoying RC electric car sound is here :D

The only downpoint I have is that I wished there was a somewhat bigger tolerance for falling, as you cannot cross diagonal tiles.

BlastTracker.PNG

Overall, awesome job !

The Consumer by foolmoron 2018-08-16T22:35:47Z

This is by far the most innovative idea I've seen for this jam so far. I'm not completely sure how the theme fits into all this (Perhaps the videos taking up the screen space ?), but I enjoyed it nonetheless. My retro side was also tickled by all thoses 80s videos. Great job !

Blaze From Outer Space by Iluvatar 2018-08-16T23:09:16Z

The art is beautiful, and the puzzles needed some thoughts (Albeit the inventory deletion bug made it quite infuriating). Just wish there was some more explanations sometimes (Like when trying to put the Fuel Liquid inside the Fuel tank without the metal vessel, or trying to put the iron directly onto the engine ...). The mood was well set up, and the audio was in par with the mood. Overall, this is a good entry ! Awesome job !

My Cube by gajop 2018-08-16T14:13:44Z

I'll admit that the game was really, really confusing for me. I had some huge UI issues as well unfortunately, notably with the bars and selection. I would also have really liked if the characters could automatically fallback when the ice is being destroyed by the ships.

Other than that, the art is really good and the mood is set, good job !

My Cube by gajop 2018-08-16T14:34:10Z

@gajop Well, I had issues with the police. It started flickering here and there. I'm not sure, but maybe the values weren't updated as well (I had a warning saying they were cold and hungry when the bars were almost full). For the selection, instead of having a square, it was simply glitched and all over the place.

My GPU is a Nvidia Titan XP CE.

I hope I was able to point you to the right direction o7

Beat These Games! by gamesplusjames 2018-08-16T15:01:44Z

Really liked the game and made me immediately think of Warioware. I loved the mood with your mum buying you new games. The audio was really on point, simple and in theme. The simple beats keeping your pumped with the higher tempo. Awesome game overall !

Proto Dash by huminaboz 2018-08-19T14:16:20Z

The game was fast paced and had a quite innovative mechanic ! I personally would have liked for the dash and the enemy attacks to be faster, as to play on the fast pace of the game. I'm also not sure what hitting the boxes do to your character. Artwise, I really liked the combination of 2D sprites into a 3D world, with the sprites being top notch quality wise. Overall, awesome entry ! Great job !

Dear Leader's Diet Plan by Historymaker118 2018-08-16T20:57:15Z

I got a bit confused at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly in the end. I find it a bit easy to spam space to get thinner without using the rotation system, that's a bit underused in my opinion. The camera shake was also a bit too strong for me.

Other than that, the game is fun and well executed ! The audio and humor are also top ! Great job !

Oh, and of course ... glory to best country !

Pop it! by LJay 2018-08-14T21:48:26Z

I got myself caught into playing that game over quite a few times. The gameplay ends up being quite fun and you want to replay it to do better than last time. Before I realized it, I managed to get a high score of 670 ^^.

I am a big fan of the cutesy art, and silly audio myself. Awesome job ! ;)

We Haul by Swordfish 2018-08-16T20:49:20Z

Simple concept that was made fun to play ! The graphics were a bit basic but fitting together nicely. The audio was quite repetitive and grating on my ears after a while, but other than that, I had quite a bit of fun playing that game ! Awesome job !

Planetary Construction by Didactylos 2018-08-14T13:32:47Z

I tried the game and was quite lost for a few minutes. I quickly got the hang of manipulating the orbit distance to melt the Cryosphere and using the Hydrosphere to produce Biosphere. The one I had troubles with was Atmosphere, as it was very often too high, and using the asteroid would nuke the Biosphere. As HYPRGLOO said, I didn't get the fact hat you had to drag the planets into the orders. I was trying to meet them all with one planet. It wasn't until I read his comment that I realized what you needed to do ^^.

Apart from a couple hics like that, the game idea is a really nice one ! I'm just a little sad that the tilt axis doesn't impact the planet. Otherwise, once you got what you needed to do, filling the orders are just the right difficulty, and is overall enjoyable !

The UI is responsive and quite pretty, like the 3D feel to it.

On a programmer side, I also really wonder how you generated the textures on the planet to dynamically react with the planet's properties !

Void Knight vs PEST by Memel06 2018-08-16T22:11:35Z

I really like the mood and art of the game ! I also like the spear mechanic, I just wish it actually had a stab/swing mechanism using mouse movements.

The only negative point I have is the collisions not being always on point. I swear the spear would be in an enemy and he would not get hit sometimes, or the inverse, being hit while I wasn't graphically hit.

All in all, the game is fun and pretty ! Awesome job !

Darkest Shade Of Night by Bartosz 2018-08-16T22:43:54Z

I played this game on the WebGL version, and I found the art and mood to be top notch ! The audio is nice, I just think the 'demon' music could use a bit of fading, as it currently enables/disable a bit too often for me. The village dying sound also jumpscared the heck out of me with it's volume ^^'

Gameplay wise, the game is pretty simple to understand and is fun to play once you get in the mood. However, the mood killer for me was that I was able to completely cheese the worm by jumping over and over, not using any planks.

Other than a couple hiccups, the game is amazing ! Good job !

Pre Alpha Build by PlusMinus 2018-08-15T12:33:06Z

Really, really cool game ! I had a blast playing it ! I suffered from some lag and audio issues using a ton of blast cannons, but otherwise, I'm a fan of the audio and mood of the game !

AlphaBuild.PNG

Defrag by mediyaz 2018-08-15T13:04:14Z

Love the art style and music ! The mood is also perfect, pressurizing you, the small defrag spaceship to plow through this computer that probably hasn't seen only cute gifs.

I had quite a blast playing this game, and found a dear foe along the way. :paperclip:

Only negative points are the camera which made me feel dizzy, and the ship that does turn way too fast for me when accelerating.

Overall, awesome game !

Defrag.PNG

Tight Rooms by Aszu 2018-08-14T22:17:52Z

Very good game ! The walls often slowing down led me to underestimate them multiple times and get caught in the end. Awesome job !

You May Live (YML) by SachaY 2018-08-16T14:05:49Z

I really like the art and the mood of the game reading the story of each characters. Good job !

The Ever-Mounting Pressure by Cohav0310 2018-08-15T12:41:32Z

I liked this game ! I caught myself playing it a couple of times. I think the zoom isn't fast enough, as the game is pretty easy starting up, and gets challenging when closed up. If you want to get to the challenging part quickly, the zoom is really slow.

I also managed to spam the projectiles in every directions fast enough to make it look more like a shotgun than a crossbow, but otherwise, the game is pretty solid !

EverMountingPressure.PNG

Crowdy Planet by arche-san 2018-08-15T14:24:33Z

Very innovative gameplay ! I managed to reform a planet with my crowdies while managing to 'handle' (And by handle I mean deliberately killing off half my population) a few couple of plagues.

I love the art and the gameplay idea. Great game !

JUNKYARD by NOTBADGUN 2018-08-15T15:04:43Z

Simple and fun, it's a solid game. Love the theme and audio. Awesome job !

A Bar In Space by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-08-14T12:50:27Z

@oats Ahhhh ! I didn't notice that bug :shame: ! My bad, the score is effectively hidden on Game-Over. I'll try to get a bugfix up quickly ! Thank you all for the reviews ! It was a blast making this game ! @ristoretto That's a lot of nice gameplay ideas ! Perhaps with a bit more time we could have added some of thoses. Albeit I won't be adding features other than quick bug-fixes on the last upload timer, it wouldn't be fair ^^.

Again, thank you all for all the comments !

A Bar In Space by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-08-16T21:40:08Z

@everyone

I can't thank you all enough for all the feedback ... This is my and @sgtweirdo first game-jam, so we went for a simple idea. I personally thought the idea in itself would be a little bit 'not enough', a bit shallow if you would. I am really, really surprised and moved by all the feedback. I'm glad to have been proven wrong.

Thank you all, I do my best to play your games and leave a comment as well.

A Bar In Space by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-08-17T01:24:39Z

@sidnoea All your points are entirely valid ! I'll admit that I'm not hyper comfortable with Unity's UI system. The game going back to the main menu when pressing space is a known bug, and I know to what it's due ^^. By pressing space, you actually press the button you had in last focus that's off screen, messing up the game-state. I thought I had fixed that bug on V2 Bugfix, but apparently not ^^'.

Thank you for the feedback !

A Bar In Space by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-08-29T06:19:23Z

@schniter Heyo, thanks for reviewing our game, I'll admit that this first jam was pretty fun ! Despite the time limit, I did spend quite a while making sure the code is clean and modular. You know me, heh, my OCD would trigger me so bad if I tried to write dirty code.

For detecting if the keyboard is QWERTY or AZERTY (Or other), yes, it would probably be possible, but not with the current system we implemented, notably due to the keys sprites.

And a mobile version would be kinda hard to play without a keyboard ^^'.

Space is running out of space by DarkGuardsman 2018-08-16T21:58:51Z

I found the game execution to be correct, but the gameplay to be a little bit slow. The ship's movement is a bit slow, and picking up objects makes the ship abysmally slow, making it a pain to return to the scrap collector if you went to get the junk pretty far away. I also think that the junk should be auto-deposited into the junk collector when you hover over it.

Other than the gameplay being too slow, the execution of the game is perfectly correct and playable, with a menu to boot ! Good job ! I just wish there was some audio as well !

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Kaiten by wdebowicz 2018-12-08T16:42:55Z

The game was nice to play, I really enjoyed the historical reference, I had absolutely no idea that it existed, and I spent half a hour looking that up after playing.

The gameplay was a little bit weird to get a hand to, but after a couple game-overs, I understood quickly and managed to win.

The only downside for me was the explosion at the end. Please, please lower your sound source volume. My ears are bleeding ;-;

Overall, good job, it was a nice entry ! ;)

Trolleys: A Moral Quandary by bentglasstube 2018-12-07T17:15:49Z

I felt like the junctions were too close to the train spawn, and the train too fast to actually make a decision. However, the game overall is great. It's pretty calming, the music is good, the art simple and effective for the game ;)

Also, as a fellow Programmer, props for using your own Engine, especially in compo.

Space Captain Leslie in ... Disasteroids!! by skettyNmeebs 2018-12-07T17:30:43Z

T'was a pretty fun game ! Props for using your own engine, if I'm not mistaken. Graphics were adapted to the game and reflected well the objects. Audio was nice, wished there was some SFXs. Voices were a nice touch tho ;) Gameplay was nice if a bit too slow, I used the keyboard to accelerate and the mouse to orient. Projectiles were consistent with the aim, making it overall nice to play.

The only downpoint for me is that I don't clearly see what there is to sacrifice for the theme. My closest guess would be the lives of the spaceship pilots, but I think that could have been more researched.

Oh, also, Double Space Damn ! *Space laugh*.

Sacrificial Wool by WalterP 2018-12-04T20:31:53Z

I really like the idea, very original. I found it a bit short and had a bit of difficulties moving in the isometric axes, but otherwise, the game is very clever, pretty (As long as you don't disable everything, heh) and fun, if somewhat too easy.

PS : I don't have a RTX 2080Ti. I hope i'm not missing too much ? ^^

Wizard Malikens spell failed by rohezal 2018-12-05T22:13:34Z

I would love to play your game, as I have a fast bandwidth, I can afford to download it in a few minutes. However, the upload server seems to be awfully slow. Since the download link contains some kind of IP without domain, I suppose this is your own server. You should consider uploading it to a cloud file transfer system.

Do poke me whenever the file is uploaded on a faster server and I'll gladly give it a shot ;)

Wizard Malikens spell failed by rohezal 2018-12-06T21:29:34Z

@rohezal 404 Error unfortunately on your link. For your server being fast, I'm sure it is ^^, but depending on the location and distance, it can be really slow. I'm not downloading at more than 100KB/s on your server, would literally take me days ;)

Death Wish by Derek Volker 2018-12-04T18:29:16Z

Nice little game ! I couldn't get passed stage 2. I had some issues with the attack colliders, very often hitting into thin air, and getting my ass handed to me by the AIs I thought I was hitting.

Otherwise, graphics are simple and effective. I like the retro style. I really liked the audio ! Just the kind of music I can hear when booting my NES. And I love the metal style !

I also feel like the special is a bit useless. I wasted all of them not being able to hit the enemies, and I find it unfortunate that they do not regenerate over time.

Overall, I had fun playing the game, but eventually gets killed by not being able to hit the enemies.

BD-Threed by Dustygriff 2018-12-04T21:41:04Z

The voices made me crack a laugh, audio quality is top notch, it could have used some SFX tho. I felt like the movements were not responsive enough. That's maybe due to the acceleration that takes too long. Otherwise, the art is cute and works well and the game is overall great, if a bit confusing. Great job !

PS : I also notice you have the same bug as us with above FullHD resolutions. The Pixel Perfect camera from Unity is bugged at the moment.

Never Coming Back by HDugmag 2018-12-16T22:51:38Z

Okay, now THAT is my kind of game !

Usually, in game jams, you don't see many shooters. That's probably because the genre was done and re-done. However, that kind of mindless fast-paced shooter is just my kind of game. I spend way, WAY more time on it than I anticipated, and I was glued to the screen all the while. You maxed out on Fun rating for me. Excellent !

Now, that's really nice and all, but there's also a few cons :

First, feedback ! I was so disappointed to not see any feedback when using the weapons or hitting the bad guys other than the quick fire animation. Feedback is an extremely important part of a game, and the player should feel rewarded for playing the game as the designer intended to. That's where feedback is critical. Your game is all about shooting an absurd amount of bad guys ? Loud crashing sounds on the shotguns, blood (Or whatever theses guys are made of) splattering everywhere and combos should be your priority.

There's also dodging. Sound for double jump, perhaps an animation on the weapon, and more air control on the double jump would be really awesome. Reward the player when using the jump, perhaps more damages/combos when shooting bad guys while in the air. Make it know that you intended it to be played that way.

Then, comes the theme's implementation. While it does make sense for an infinite game like this, just sacrificing some stats and numbers isn't very engaging. I think the theme's take could have been a little bit more creative beside just downing some stats (Perhaps actually sacrifice some gameplay elements, then, if the player does stay alive longer than that, then add stats sacrifice).

Finally, the last con I wanted to talk about, is the AI. It is easy to trick the bad guys into following you, and kill them off easily. it would be much more engaging and intense for the player if the AIs were actually thinking as a group instead of a single entity, trying to corner the player, and perhaps use projectiles. An AI Director in that case would have been a tremendous asset.

Now, I wrote such a wall of text for that game, that's just showing how much I enjoyed it, and everything I've said concerning the cons up there is only to help you make an ever better game next time. I already had a bundle of fun with this one, but it could be even better ;)

Also, I got up to wave 29. Died on wave 30, just too many bad guys x). I took a screenshot at wave 28 of them spawning :

Capture.PNG

I kept sacrificing my accuracy. At one point, it was below 1% for each gun x).

Finally, congratulations for your first Ludum Dare entry ! It was a very nice one !

Sacrificial Altar: Pipes by volkomist 2018-12-05T14:01:41Z

Interesting setting, I think it misses some other core gameplay element to make it original and unique. Still, it would be interesting to see what it would give as an actual game.

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-04T19:01:18Z

@sadsmile @loethil Thank you for the feedback ! For the input problem, the download version has no problems at all.

This is actually caused when you move your mouse in the WebGL version while having a mouse button clicked. This causes the browser to select the game and everything below, getting the input stuck. Pressing the input again after clicking resolves that ;)

Gonna add a warning for that.

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-04T19:21:56Z

@leothil Sure ! I can send you the project. Do contact me via Discord (Fluffy_Kaeloky#0117) ;)

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-05T13:17:16Z

@daniel-grinshpon We designed the lens effect to be very gentle, just enough to add a small effect, but not enough for people to notice. I'm surprised you noticed it ! Thank you ! :D

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-08T12:44:32Z

@raphael-maia Thank you ! Anstabo indeed 3D modeled CROM (The player character), and rendered him in blender for all the animations. All in all, for the player, we had 8 direction, for two movement speeds (moving and idle). That's already 16 animations. Then we have the weapons ! 8 directions for each speed for each weapon (We have 2) when firing and idling. In total, that's 16 + 16 + 16 + 16 animations, for a total of 64, just for movements with weapons ;)

For the rest of the characters, Anstabo drew them in 2D. We then applied the same animations for different views, as they weren't as critical as the main character, and it saved a lot of time ! ;)

In the end, we used AnimatorOverrideControllers, and the list was quite scary : Capture.PNG

@nekonyo We had quite a few problems using the beta release of Unity 2018.3.0b12 (Because we couldn't resist nested prefabs and variants). What was the problem on WebGL exactly ? I know we have unexplained crashes on certain computers. I hope it didn't cause you too much troubles ^^'.

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-08T14:25:13Z

@nekonyo Ah, I see. We actually used tricks in Unity to achieve the graphic quality of the game, such as replacing the sprite material by an actually lit shader, allowing us to use lights, using shadow only simple meshes to cast simple shadows, and using the new postprocess v2 system. Hence why we didn't want to compromise on the graphics quality. We didn't have the time to test each and every one of them, so we preferred to go with only one option we knew would render as planned ;)

Still, It is something I'll remember for next projects, thanks ! ;)

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-11T18:26:50Z

@sirmichel That's due to playing on the WebGL version. It's the browser selecting the webpage's content when clicking and moving the mouse. Not much we can do about that. You can play in fullscreen to avoid the issue altogether, or download the game ;)

CROM by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-12-12T00:26:05Z

@vlandemart Thank you ! And no worries, if you have any question or would like to see more of the project, I think I've left my Discord account in the comments. Feel free to contact me ;)

Also, here's the model first version in Blender (As you can see, he's buffed !) : model.png

He was also of course modeled to be rendered only on the right points of view. We can lie all we want to the player, as long as he doesn't realize that is it a lie ;)

For the ranged enemies having contact damages, we had the same feedback from a few others sources. It's something that I didn't think about at all when I added the script to the mages, but it seems so obvious now. Shouldn't have added that :o

Floofs by kaeveris 2018-12-05T22:50:31Z

As previously said, I feel like mouse controls are really missing, and the projectile doesn't go straight, making you often miss your target and as such is very frustrating for the player, as it doesn't seem fair. Other than that, the game is simple but enjoyable for a couple minutes. As stated before, if this is your first (or near first) project on Unity, you should be proud ! Good job ! ;)

OVERCHARGE by Jonas Tyroller 2018-12-05T00:39:30Z

I had a lot of fun playing this game ! The mechanic is well found out, and pushed forward with the different kind of turrets, to the point where you are able to design strategies based on the size and number of the enemies incoming. The graphics are simple, and works very well with the game. Still, I think a few touches are missing, such as a background, perhaps SFXs on the lasers ...

Overall, I had a blast, losing was not frustrating as I was learning the spawn pattern of each level, figuring out a strategy.

Awesome work !

LD44 — Your life is currency

PigsyBanksy by Joel Davis 2019-04-30T20:10:10Z

I really love the paper render. The take on the theme is really well found, and the gameplay is smooth. Gamepad support is a great plus !

Only thing I could notice is that the game sometimes sutter after the tutorial level.

Overall, it's a really great entry, congratulations !

Dragon's Gold by kleinzach 2019-05-01T17:44:26Z

I actually burst out laughing at the sound effects. I eventually lost because I had so many beers and forks on me that I got stunlocked.

Otherwise, while being on the simple side, it's a decent entry. Good job !

Town of Currency by Drauthius 2019-05-01T17:11:57Z

I am first on the leaderboard now, try and beat this ! :p

Addicting to play, and I found myself tryharding the game to get a score close to 600. I just was a bit unsure as to how to beat the giant machines, if at all possible.

Great job !

Town of Currency by Drauthius 2019-05-01T19:09:33Z

@worai I wasn't aware that GameJolt proposed a ranking service. They give you an API to use I suppose ?

That looks really interesting, I thought of implementing it sometimes, and my first thought would be to use a SQL server with a ASP.NET API, but that looks much easier and faster.

Leaving with Ladders by 100th_Coin 2019-05-01T15:06:40Z

Honestly feels like a complete and polished game, it feels nice to play this game after countless raw or unfinished entries. I had a blast playing it to completion.

The game's life is also pretty good thanks to the exploration gameplay, and the art is as goofy as the humor (Thinking about the main character).

Overall, a wonderful entry, great job !

To Hell With It! by LexiChan 2019-04-30T03:30:36Z

Congratulations on making it this far !

I think the game needs a bit more feedback, and a fix for the crash when switching weapons without secondary.

Otherwise, it's a decent entry ! I like the AI and their movements !

Devil's Bank - Your life is currency! by Wicked 2019-04-30T16:29:02Z

Excellent entry ! Special mention for the animations that I really like ! I took a bit of time to understand the gameplay, and there was an audio issue with spacialization (Albeit the music and sound effect and really nice !), but otherwise, I had a lot of fun playing this game and took my time to understand my chances of success with every new human coming to my powerful self !

I can't help but be reminded a bit of 'Papers Please' ;)

Good job !

Blood Caverns by Lazertrax 2019-05-01T01:36:28Z

I really like the atmosphere and the feel is very smooth. I'm only a bit confused as to how you get so much blood stash. Couldn't even afford the second gun on level 5 and died there.

Overall, a great entry ! Well done !

Heart of the Grove by johnnydalvi 2019-04-30T18:11:34Z

The game is pretty well executed and easy to understand. I feel like it misses a minimap, but other than that, it's a good entry !

However, if most of your assets come from external websites, you should opt out of the Graphics category ...

Ollo's Life by Memel06 2019-04-30T22:59:38Z

Well, daym, I'm impressed.

Game Boy Color modding is a hobby of mine, and I had a flash cart, as well as a USB flasher lying around ...

IMG_20190501_005427.jpg

(Yes, this GBC is modded. The LD comment won't let me get the image upright for some reason.)

And it works ! Perfectly even ! I completed the game and enjoyed every second of it.

I'll admit that I am extremely curious as to what you used to make this. I doubt that you wrote it in assembly, that would take too much time. Even in C ... I'm not sure.

Again, I am honestly humbled. Well done !

Ollo's Life by Memel06 2019-05-01T14:20:47Z

@memel06 Awesome ! Thanks for the link ! I'll take a look, it looks pretty fun to play with, and a good starting point for eventually making a game from scratch in C for the GBC.

Selloutpunk by JeaH 2019-05-01T00:20:40Z

Unfortunately, even when knowing the controls, the game is completely unplayable for me. I can't pick up any glasses with ease, nor do I know what to do with them.

It's also a shame you opted out of Graphics category, as this is where the game shines along with mood. Shaders and custom dialogues boxes don't disqualify you from Graphics category. I've seen complete asset flips asking to be rated in graphics.

Coin Coin ! by mgsx 2019-05-01T17:32:36Z

Quite a decent game, I had fun playing a few rounds. It took me a while to understand that the coin traps were not power-ups at first. Perhaps in-game instructions would be nice.

Otherwise, it's a decent entry. Great job ! And remember to rate other people's game to get a rating !

Red Rock by Spooky 2019-04-30T18:41:31Z

That's a really great entry ! Congratulations guys !

A couple things I could notice is that I seem to lose integretity a bit randomly, and that the beam cannon doesn't appear after buying it. I'm also not sure how to consistently gain ship integrity besides blowing up asteroids and randomly gaining some.

Otherwise, I love the feel of the game, and the controller support is a great plus !

Protocol: R.W.S. by Derek Volker 2019-04-30T23:35:04Z

Well, I had quite a bit of fun with this one ! I love fast paced games ! That's by the way the only negative point I could really find : Often, in the first few levels, I found myself hugging the end wall, wishing it was faster. It would be a nice idea to let the player advance the scrolling if he is almost at the end of the screen, especially since there is no checkpoints between the levels.

Also, special mention to the audio, that keeps you in the pace of the game. Even the jump goes well with the music, that's nicely found !

Another thing that I would have liked is to tell the player if the next level will require a certain amount of upgrades. I found myself multiple times dying because I hadn't taken the jump power upgrade, I much prefer the dash speed.

Otherwise, the gameplay feels great, head is banging to the rythm of the music, theme is a bit taken on the literral side but it fits,

T'was a pretty good game ! Congratulations !

Love, Death&Swords by Dmitry Kaidash 2019-05-01T14:37:10Z

The game lack a bit of feedback, and the controls aren't really intuitive (Lacks a click and hold, spells should be selectable with the alpha keys (12345), lacks audio feedback, enemies can be killed from afar without triggering them, end boss is way too easy, lacks an ending ...)

I could also recognize the mixamo animations.

Still, overall it's a decent entry, good job for going this far.

Money Golems Warriors by Buddaccio 2019-04-30T21:18:27Z

We played this with two Xbox One controllers, and it worked just fine. The game is well executed, and I got my ass handed to me by my friend. Well done !

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-04-30T03:00:19Z

@armadillq We're working on it right now. Unity decided to explode at the last moment for the WebGL build.

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-04-30T13:21:47Z

@nyunesu Hi ! Sure thing, I can share sources via PM. Poke me on Discord with Fluffy_Kaeloky#0117.

@Wyatt Thanks ! And yeah we also happened to lose a couple keys like that. The reward pipes launch them a bit too strongly, but we didn't have time to fix it. I'll get a post jam fix for that ;)

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-04-30T18:01:42Z

@killscreen Yep, we do have some issues with the AIs sometimes. (Well, ok, often x) )

If anything, in this jam, I've learnt that this is the last time I try to write AIs with multiple behaviours without behaviour trees x)

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-04-30T23:18:37Z

@derek-volker Hey ! I remember you, you made Death Wish for the LD 43 ! Anstabo and me did CROM.

And thanks ! As for the last question, well ... we were tired. We'll put that on the tiredness, yes.

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-05-02T02:39:48Z

@joe-bustamante I feel you on this one. Unfortunately, we ran out of time for adding content, and we prefered to polish what we already had on the last day instead of adding things. If anything, as the programmer, I could have gone faster if I made the AIs with behaviors trees. That's something I learnt this jam : not doing another semi-complex (multiple behaviors styles) AI by hand x)

Perhaps we should make the game a little easier on the sheep count, but once you manage to create all the relays for the sheeps, the truck constantly goes with 15+ sheeps. It's really a matter of if the player does automate or not for the game length ^^

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-05-02T14:39:57Z

@wfmg We had the same bug delaying the WebGL release at first. We fixed it going from Unity 2018 to 2019 (and applying a couple bugfixes after that). Unfortunately, the window your are seeing is the result of the bug. If you have the window still open, the bug that actually caused that will have it's stacktrace printed in the dev console (Opened by pressing F12). With the screenshot you gave, I unfortunately can't make any conclusion from it :<

Anyway, thanks for the kind words and bug report, I'm glad you still enjoyed the game ! And sorry about that ruining your playthrough :s

UnderBreak by MlleAB 2019-05-01T01:52:10Z

The art is great, I like the low poly style. Animation is smooth, albeit an animation layer and mask would be great for the main character for the hurt animation.

Also, I think the movement being 'disturbed' is a bad idea. Removing control from the player is never a good idea, as it makes it feels like the game is being unfair and/or frustrating. You should play on something else than disturbing the player's movements. Slowing it is a better idea since you do leave control to the player (Albeit nor a truly good one either).

Otherwise, the twist at the end surprised me, and I did replayed through the game to get the good ending. I also enjoyed the gun play.

I'm actually a bit sad that the game doesn't last longer ;)

Blood Quest by shaner421 2019-05-01T15:14:47Z

Really fun little game, except perhaps for the fact that you can rush the final boss and beat him into submission with a stick. Otherwise, the game feels smooth and is fun to play.

Good job !

Swords and Kreatures by Ausstein 2019-04-30T19:09:04Z

I got a bit bored with the tutorial and headed up in a game after reading half of it, but I still picked up the mechanics on my second try, and won. The gameplay is really interesting, it was fun to play ! As said before, the canvas is way too big, and the game doesn't completely fit on my screen. Otherwise, great job !

BankRoll by Kharibidus 2019-04-30T23:14:27Z

I think the inputs are a little bit too floaty, but other wise, the game is very entertaining and I had a lot of fun playing it ! Congratulations !

Cyborg Highway by Pyrian 2019-04-30T21:12:31Z

I would have liked a more dynamic gameplay, especially when jumping from/to cars, but otherwise, the game is well executed, simple enough, and plays very well. Overall a great entry ! Congratulations !

Cyborg Highway by Pyrian 2019-05-01T03:13:25Z

@pyrian By dynamic, I mostly meant a smidge faster. I personally would have liked for the jump to feel like a real fast jump, faster cars to offer more possibilities etc ... Overall faster is what I meant. Still, it is perfectly understandable to keep it simple for a jam ;)

Nebula Rush by Erukolindo 2019-04-30T15:01:59Z

While it fits the theme, the idea of clicking circles is extremely annoying, especially when they are so slow to appear and you can't do anything about it. The ship movements are a bit slow too. I also had audio spacialization issues when using 7.1. Remember to disable spatial blend if using 2D.

Otherwise, the game looks decent and polished. It's just too bad the upgrade mechanic is killing it for me.

21 Years by Xankill3r 2019-05-01T18:00:48Z

Gameplay at his center is classic and simple, but well executed. A nice little story to go with it and a bit of polish, and you get a nice entry. Great job !

sal_dream-0 by taffyko 2019-04-30T23:52:54Z

Really enjoyed playing it. The art is really good, and the character is adorable ! (Wish it was maybe a bit animated. Even a small idle with his tail waggling goes a long way.)

I also really like the reward music. It's a bit sad that it is so quiet during the battles, apart from the sound effects.

Congratulations on making such an entry !

Stars Keeper by zuick 2019-05-01T18:58:08Z

I had fun playing, however, I feel like this game lacks lateral movement to avoid enemy projectiles.

Otherwise, it's a pretty decent and cute entry with a good mood. Well done !

Escape from Hell by Becher 2019-04-30T17:05:11Z

Congratulations on your compo entry ! As said before, the movements are a bit floaty, but otherwise, the art looks good and the game works as expected. I only wish you could hit in diagonals and while moving. Good job !

LD45 — Start with nothing

All Is Well by MKnooihuisen 2019-10-16T19:36:04Z

Well !

Delta Test Site by Derek Volker 2019-10-07T22:31:39Z

I felt like the game was a bit too slow, the lack of inertia when jumping also made me miss a lot of jumps, thus making the experience a bit frustrating.

Otherwise, I really like the music and the mechanics (Other than jumping). As said before a little bit of camera panning when a terminal do something would be also great.

Again, the music is really awesome and is the best part of your game for me.

Congratulations on making it for the LD45 Compo ! :D

Delta Test Site by Derek Volker 2019-10-10T11:52:04Z

@derek-volker In platformers, jumping is a critical gameplay element. What I meant by lack of inertia means two things : - Perhaps modify the air control speed ? The player maybe should be able to move faster/slower when jumping ? It depends on the type of game you're making and requires a bit of experimentation. - But mostly this : Your jump is constant up and down. No matter how long you press the jump key, your jump will always go at the same height and fall down at the same rate. This is a big no-no for platformers, as the jump will feel floaty and loses some precision.

There's an excellent video by BoardToBitsGames explaining exactly that : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KiK0Aqtmzc

Good luck perfecting your platformer ! :)

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-08T16:55:37Z

@sprotex I can see where you are coming from with this. I've tested only today the game on a Quadro K600 at work, and it was completely unplayable, with 100% load on the GPU, 95% VRAM usage. This is due to the custom shader we wrote for the etheral/show the world only where there is objects. This isn't due to a mistake in the code or anything, it's just that our technique is a bit expensive to run.

I'll take a look asap with Anstabo if we can reduce the GPU load without sacrificing too much of the visuals quality, but I can't really promise anything. I'm afraid that our game does require a decent GPU to run.

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-08T20:28:10Z

@Rosik Indeed, we are aware of that ^^

I'll write a quick hotfix for that, giving the player the ability to take back the keys as soon as I can.

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-09T11:41:41Z

@selkkie I haven't been able to test the build on Mac, due to the fact that I don't have a Mac myself. Perhaps this might be a Shader issue with Metal, I wouldn't be surprised at all (Apple and their bad habit of using only their own, often filled with bugs technologies ...). Perhaps you can launch the game with a force opengl argument and that might solve the issue. (OpenGL is officially deprecated for Mac since Metal, but it is still supported)

Other that than, I'm afraid I can't really debug without owning a mac or at least seeing a Mac run the game in Metal.

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-26T00:28:31Z

@ddrkirbyisq Huh, weird. You're the first one that reported this issue (at least on Windows). Not sure if it comes from the WIndows Server installation or hardware.

In any case, you can run the executable with either -force-d3d11 or -force-glcore to force the renderer to the selected argument. Please do keep me updated :)

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-26T02:21:03Z

@dob You can pick multiple letters. You're supposed to form the words in your own hand ;)

TailWhip by JengaMang 2019-10-10T09:40:07Z

Watch out for the asteroid spawning right on the player at the start. This is the very first impression of your game, and what I got was being insta-killed the very moment I pressed play. Not a very good first impression. (You should release a hotfix for that, really)

However, getting past that (And the couple more times I spawned right next to an incoming asteroid), the game was enjoyable. The longer tail picking ammo meaning that the longer you are, the more ammo you pick, and the more you are at risk of being hit is a nice gameplay element.

The wireframe visuals gives fidelity to the original game this was based on, and the color scheme is well chosen. The audio was nice to listen to and fits the game.

Congratulations in making it to the Ludum Dare 45 !

LD46 — Keep it alive

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Colorful Memories by Ayxs 2020-10-07T10:54:28Z

I really enjoyed the game. Unfortunately, I don't have much to say since the game was good overall. I would have slowed down the walk speed or reduced the FOV. I felt like playing DOOM on the first steps.

A solid entry ! Congratulations on making it to the LD47 ! :)

PS : Will someone kill that damn owl ?

Stuck in a Loop (station) by erikiene 2020-10-11T22:24:51Z

This reminds me a lot of FRACT OSC. Great idea with the music loops. I didn't make it past the TV screens unfortunately. The first two puzzles were I think easy.

I don't have much to say other than that. The game is good overall for me not to have anything really relevant to say ^^. Continue like that !

Congratulations on making it to LD47 ! It's a solid entry !

Phase Decay by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2020-10-07T10:43:18Z

@caeonosphere The idea was that the ship is getting progressively destroyed everytime the reactor explodes and creates a new loop, until, at the last loop, the damage would be so great that the ship couldn't take it anymore and explodes entirely. We used that mechanic to close some pathways on certain loops. I wish we had more time to accompany the player further into that idea :)

As for the voice, you'll have to ask Derek :p

Phase Decay by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2020-10-07T14:43:27Z

@eden-shazar Indeed, there is a half broken gate on the other side of the turret hall. By tricking the turret to fire at it by throwing a can, you can get the half broken gate open, and thus unlock a new shortcut :)

I would have liked to put more clues indicating that was possible, but I just didn't have the time :<

Phase Decay by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2020-10-08T05:49:11Z

@eoshadows I'll take a look into that. Thanks !

Phase Decay by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2020-10-11T14:56:00Z

@krysh Indeed, there is another way of getting out of the main hall. You can trick the turret into firing at the broken gate using a can. This will open a new passage for you :-)

Stuck in The Loop by EOShadows 2020-10-07T10:31:03Z

I unfortunately couldn't finish the game. I got to the point where I got the key, read two books, broke the window and opened the door, but after than that, I spent 4 or 5 loops without finding anythign else. I got the crate stuck in a corner near the window in the very beginning of the game. Perhaps that's what got me stuck ?

Anyway, here's what I think :

The good :

I really like the mood and graphics. Programming was solid enough for me not to find any issues with the game mechanics.

The bad :

The text should really be skippable. I didn't like the music at all. To be honest, it was really grating on my nerves.

Overall still, it's a solid entry, perhaps some design flaw since I wasn't able to finish it, but still solid and enjoyable. Congratulations on making it to the LD47 !

⛧ Hellycoaster ⛧ by TennoTako 2020-10-07T09:52:28Z

Hi,

I can't seem to launch the game. It crashes with a black screen after clicking on play in the main menu. Hell.PNG

I've noticed that the game initializes my Oculus Rift before launching. I tried to find a log file in the games files, but couldn't find one.

Perhaps try to take a look into that ? Mention me in a comment me for me to give it another try and rate it accordingly :)

⛧ Hellycoaster ⛧ by TennoTako 2020-10-08T19:11:54Z

@tennotako That indeed fixed it for me.

So, I was able to play it, and I had a lot of fun. It was a bit confusing at first, and for 80% of the play time I didn't realize that you could move the camera.

For the gameplay, it was fun. I would have liked the traps to be less effective, but infinite time-wise. I also think a good idea would have been to allow the humans to board the cart only if it is slow enough. Otherwise, I just had to put downward slopes (Or even a 90 degrees straight down rail) with portals to make the carts go to insane speeds.

The sawblade purchase isn't worth it either. The 'random object' purchase a pretty good chance of spawning a sawblade, for a fraction of the price. I ended up using only the random object.

The art is decent. I like the spriteworks, the background not so much. Way too many colors, and too saturated.

I also think that I discovered by accident a feature that you used for testing, as I was able to create humans portals by pressing R :-)

That combined with the only downward slopes led me to pretty much break the game, and get into the million range score until the apparently exponential decay caught me :p

HellyScore.PNG

A solid entry overall. Congratulations on making it into LD47 !

LD49 — Unstable

Unstable Equilibrium by baknik 2021-10-05T22:48:24Z

Really clever gameplay ! I liked the puzzles, and wish some of them would make use of the previous functions of the gun instead of having a linear progression using each tool after another. I think it could have really used a few more levels.

Other than that, it's a good entry, congratulations ! :)

Outstanding Acaipowered Spaceship by Derek Volker 2021-10-05T00:13:57Z

You did it again with a compo. I honestly don't know how you manage to do all that alone and in 48 hours.

Anyway, I played it to the end, and it's really great ! The only thing I could notice is that on stage 2 and 3, I just tend to hug the high or low border of the scene to avoid all projectiles and enemies. Some enemies with something to counter that would be great.

Otherwise, awesome music, graphics are good for the game, and gameplay is fun ! I like the idea of the reverse lifebar.

Congratulations ! :)

@concker-88 The guy who did the voice lines does speak Russian and French as well, so while I can't ensure that they 100% mean the same as the subtitles, they should still be valid.

Nuclear Danger by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2021-10-10T19:04:02Z

@hori Thanks for the comment ! To finish the game, you can deposit the bomb assembly at the machine at the back of the room, along with the shell of the bomb, and press the button to finalize the assembly. (This is explained by a voiceline once you have fitted about 4 or 5 pieces together) The machine will take the bomb assembly once you have assembled at least 3 pieces.

Nuclear Danger by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2021-10-14T18:05:19Z

Kingdom of Chaos by AXLplosion 2021-10-05T00:21:54Z

It's a pretty fun game ! Pixel art is on point. Only real problem I could find is the inclusion of the escape key in the 'press a button' minigame. This exits the game's fullscreen mode without registering the keystroke, and cost me the run at 21k score.

Congratulations ! :)

It's trippy to say the least. Dunno what was going on, but managed to shoot the red sheeps anyway. Some kind of pause after dying would be great, because I kept going back straight to the game menu after dying when spamming left click.

Congratulations on making it to the LD49 !

Kei26 - Union Game Engine by Fupi 2021-10-06T23:54:42Z

I remember my very first game project, on Irrlicht Engine, controlling a ship to avoid asteroids. It was buggy as all hell, but it worked (As long as your PC wasn't too fast, I had no idea about delta-time when I did that). Perhaps I got lucky I never followed any tutorials ?

The story was touching, and the gameplay while not intense felt tight. (Also, yes, as said before, I'm disapointed that killing all the bad guys did nothing, I bothered as well :P) The amount of levels and story you did in 72h is also impressive.

Congratulations ! :)

Unsteinable by shakastrai 2021-10-07T00:05:43Z

I'd like to give it a try, but the game keeps trying to access my VR headset, and crashes when I disable it.

Can you ping me in the comments whenever you can fix it ? :o

Unsteinable by shakastrai 2021-10-07T17:30:25Z

@kraghan Not much to say besides that the game tries to intialize my HTC Cosmos. I haven't tried to unplug my VR headset mostly because I'm too lazy to move my tower, heh.

I've had this problem with a few other games from Unreal Engine in past Ludum dares. I can't say what fixed it since I don't use UE myself, but I've seen other people find the culprit and disable the VR feature completely when it wasn't needed.

Unsteinable by shakastrai 2021-10-10T19:17:55Z

@kraghan Thank you ! I've played your game and rated it.

The core of the game is there, but I feel like gameplay wise, it's missing something. I wish we could combine potions to make different colors, or perhaps have some effects on the world, such as puzzles.

Otherwise, the graphics are really nice and cute, and what's there works well.

Bien joué ! :)

Compo game "Flappy Crow"!! by HIKO_game 2021-10-06T14:26:45Z

I agree with the previous comments when they say that the game is too hard. Making a game challenging might be a good idea when you are targeting a specific kind of audience, but in this case, you'll rebuff a lot of LD jammers, which is not what you want. Make sure your game is accessible.

Otherwise, the gameplay is fun, and I like the idea of controlling the direction (Just wish we could stop as well), and the graphics/audio are good for the game.

Congratulations on making it to the LD 49 !:)

Contrary by Nekopi 2021-10-06T01:22:21Z

I somehow find the main character to be cute. That's just me tho.

Graphics are really good, but I have a few problems with the gameplay : The walls are kinda sticky and tends to get your character stuck, and the alternating stats are a good idea on paper, but having them all turn on and off at once is a bit frustrating. I think a good idea would be not to turn them all at once, but to alternate (ie, disable attack, enable block or jumping), that way block would also have a use when attack is disabled.

Otherwise, it's a fun game and I reached Loneliness, but got stuck to a part where everything was dark. I don't know if that was intended or not.

Congratulations on making it to the LD49 ! :)

Don Muchacho: Vigilante by javi7 2021-10-06T03:51:32Z

Congratulations ! :)

SplashX by IdeasPerSecond 2021-10-05T01:20:10Z

Fun little game ! Managed to get to landing 8. I think some of the landings might be nearly impossible provided that you don't have a good starting position. On another note, I think the music is a bit out of place, but it's not a major issue.

Regardless, it's a good entry, congratulations on making it to the LD49 ! :)

Dank Brew of the High Mage by John Luke Lusty 2021-10-05T01:45:50Z

**f*ck**

It's a fun little game ! A bit tough to grasp the mechanics at first, I think I tried at least 6 or 7 times to dodge only the first blast, but then I managed to complete it.

The pixel art for the dragon is on point.

Congratulations on making it to the LD49 ! :)

Congratulations on making it to the LD51 !

Bear's Home Repairs by AMastryukov 2022-10-04T21:28:37Z

I'm really not a big fan of the wall of text for the rules and explanations. I kinda skipped through it after the first slide, and as such I didn't really understood the game the first few playthroughs.

However, it was still quite fun ! The changing loadout gave you an incentive to use your secondary ASAP while your primary recharges. Weapon balance could use a bit of work, I feel like you are kinda screwed if you get the shotgun a bit too many times, the slow reload and dual shell make it really hard to kill the bears (Or pandas, or whatever the hell they are x) ) fast enough. Get a Katana however and you go pretty much slicey-dicey on them :p

I also wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity.

Otherwise, it's a fun solid game. Congratulations on making it to the LD51 !

Arrows Between Worlds by Luis Felipe Patrocinio 2022-10-14T17:03:33Z

I'm not completely sure how the arrow reserve played out, but I had fun regardless ! Kinda wish the switch between levels, or worlds, would change something in the game play, other than simply reskinning the enemies. Other than that, it's a fun entry ! Congrats !

@msplanlos Thanks for the comment ! Could you give more details on your controller issues ? I couldn't replicate what you are describing on my side. What keyboard layout are you using ?

Under Pressure by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2022-10-04T23:07:05Z

@msplanlos @wheelsx Ohhh, yeah, that one, yeah. We're aware of it. It's a collision issue we didn't have time to fix. The inputs aren't really reversed per say, but rather the player being pushed backwards in the shipping container. Thanks for the input, I'll try giving it a hotfix later

@supercannon

Thanks !

It's more of a mathematic issue. I use the average normal of all current collisions to calculate the normal of the plane to project the velocity onto. I check the dot product from Vector3.up to know whether the collision is considered as ground or walls, but it seems that check fails for some reason inside the shipping container, and the velocity ends up being projected along the walls, thus making the controller do all kinds of funny things ^^

@ryusui We had kind of power ups and stuns planned in the GD, but that ended being cut due to lack of time ^^

Terminal Velocity by mhorth 2022-10-04T22:12:46Z

Pretty good entry ! I had a technical issue with the game at first that absolutely wanted to launch onto my vertical second screen. ALT-Enter didn't work to make it windowed, so I had to launch it with the -monitor 1 argument to get it on my main screen.

As for the game, it's pretty fun ! I really like the inclusion of high scores. However, I feel like the game isn't really fair sometimes and leads to frustrating collisions. Sometimes, the tunnel bends so much you can't see right in front of you. When a laser happens to be right after a sharp turn, you sometimes have no way of avoiding it. There is also the issue of having impossible patterns. I had a few times a rotating laser cross with a boost in the middle, or boosts in the middle right before a ring laser (Impossible to flip back again in time to avoid it).

Having boosts right before a laser pattern is also pretty tough. It will mess up your timing on rotating lasers, and if you get hit, you usually don't get a boost for a very long time after that, making it incredibly frustrating.

Otherwise, I had quite a bit of fun ! Landed 2nd place. Congratulations on making it to the LD51 !

AWOOoooo! Delivering your soul to the forest... .. . . . . Or Not.!? by INCD021 2023-05-02T18:06:28Z

Worth playing just for the ending sound effect :-)

I really like this type of game. In my opinion, the puzzle was a bit too convoluted, and I had to use your tips to find the code. The atmosphere is really great tho. Makes me wanna try to do a full UI game on next LD.

Congratulations on making it to the LD53 !

Mad Delivery by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2023-05-02T14:50:55Z

@exilon Other than a the terrain shader that was made outside the game jam by Anstabo for other projects (And then again we had to adapt it to terrain use, which wasted us a few hours, Unity being Unity with hidden shader keywords :') ), everything was made in the 72 hours ! Especially the vehicle physics, which we had zero experience on before, and was, at least for me, the big challenge of the jam.

And indeed, there was a lot of time crunch, and things that could be more optimized.

Thanks for the comment !

@teadrinker I used the Wheel colliders, which uses the PhysX engine behind the scene. I spent a lot of time tweaking the values to have them feel right however, and applied a lot of invisible forces and torques to stabilize the vehicle.

@lisyarus It is probably because of the emulation. I have made a linux build and added it for you :)

Since I don't have a way to test it however, feel free to send any errors you might encounter :o

Mad Delivery by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2023-05-07T17:00:39Z

@raptor851 Which build are you using ? You're the first to report that issue.

Mad Delivery by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2023-05-08T06:50:03Z

@raptor851 Ah, I see. Unfortunately, I don't have a Linux distribution installed to test the Linux build, so I uploaded it as is. Just in case it's an issue on your computer only, I've left the build on the itch page, but made it clearer that it was untested.

Sorry about that. Thanks for the report tho ! :ok_hand:

WASTELAND Express by YogurtTheHorse 2023-05-02T20:55:49Z

The feel and looks of your entry are quite amazing ! Congrats on making it this far in the LDs timeframe !

Also, it's funny how we both had almost the same idea for our games :-)

Congratulations on making it to the LD53 !

The addition of the cargo view is an excellent idea that gives life to the game !

One negative point for me is that I feel like there is a dissociation between the graphics of the truck and the actual direction you are going in. I think it either needs more sprites in different directions, or you need to actually snap the truck's direction in the graphics direction. This caused me to hit way too many walls, especially since I'm not patient enough to go slow :-)

Other than that, it's a solid entry ! Congratulations on making it to the LD 53 ! :)
