Hey fellow Winnipeg devs! Loved your game. The art is great and the gameplay is really solid. The only issue I had was the couple bugs aforementioned, but I still had lots of fun! :)
The art style and gameplay is absolutely wonderful. Great stuff!! :)
Love the bright colors. The fact that nobody has an animation while they move actually improves the visuals in this game lol. Love the gameplay too. Great work!!
Really loved the presentation, and the gameplay is great. I loved slamming the adventurers into the walls and each other lol. Good work!
Really like the concept. It really drives home how software/game Dev feels sometimes. Felt like the style could have used some more polish, however that's just my opinion and it doesn't take away from the game's value. Thanks for making it! :)
As those before me have said before, the art is amazing. The theme is on point, and me and my girlfriend had a blast. Great stuff!!! :)
Great game, love how well it fits the theme. The gameplay is really fun! thanks :)
Really like the game. The gameplay is solid, whoever the art might need some work. I like the style that it creates, however a couple images here and there kinda looked off to me for whatever reason. All in all, great game! Keep up the good work. :)
really liked the randomized pathfinding of the enemies. Really made it seem like they were trying to flank me. Lots of fun!
I really liked the intro cinematic, and the art and sound is superb! Really sets the mood. The gameplay is fun, and I had a really good time playing it, until i ran out of provision and drifted into space to die lol. All in all, great game! thanks :)
Great Work! Liked that you dedicated it to firefighters. Just wasn't quite sure how it fit the theme, but I liked the gameplay. The movement was really slow but i'm assuming that was to emulate the heavy equipment they have to carry, and auto-walking up the stairs would've been nice, but all in all great job! thank you :)
Great stuff fellow Winnipeg gamedev!!! Loved your entry. The music and the style is absolutely awesome and the gameplay is solid. Keep up the good work!!! :)
Really liked your game! the art is great and i'm always a sucker for typing games. thanks for commenting on my post! :)
I really enjoyed the art style and audio. The shooting mechanics felt really good, it just felt weird to control the game with the arrow keys as well as the mouse. However other than that it was great! :)
We saw your review of our game and decided to take a look at yours, and by gosh we were completely blown away! This is so polished, so well executed that I honestly would pay money for this. My girlfriend literally spent so long in it that the only reason she stopped playing was because it crashed! If a publisher doesn't pick this up I'd be seriously disappointed. This is probably in my top 3 for this ludum dare. Incredible work, and I really look forward to seeing what you do post-jam with this absolutely awesome game.
I really liked your game! the music is great, and the gameplay is superb. I really like "tetris with a twist" games so this one is rated high from me. :) thank you!
I loved your game! the art is great and the music is wonderful. It reminds me of those old flash games like diner dash and papa's pizzaria. Gonna show this one to my girlfriend since she absolutely adores these kinds of games. I also loved that I can press the X at the start of the game and immediately lose lmfao. Thank you! :)
The art is great, and the game feels like something new which is wonderful! I do take issue with the sound design however that is just personal preference and not reflective of the game as a whole. Great work! :)
@arkinrev I'll definitely keep it on my radar. :)
Thanks for the kind words! we are aware of the issue regarding the south-west direction sprite and are working on a fix. Seems to have occured during export. edit: this issue has now been resolved! :) @kritz @valid
@alchemic sorry to hear that. We'll look into it. Thanks for playing! :)
@ejmejm thanks for your kind words. Titan souls is a wonderful game that I love very dearly, and the fact that our game reminded you of one of my all time favourites makes me really happy. :)
@camcam thank you! Sorry to hear (haha) that the volume was an issue. We'll look into audio-balancing soon.
@wtg thank you so much! :)
@iagorigel sorry that happened. I'm gonna get my team to look at it right away. What operating system are you using and what browser are you trying to play the game in?
@iagorigel thank you very much. We will look into the issue. From what we've tested, chrome seems to work so if you would like you could try to run it in that browser. I'm also going to upload a downloadable version today so that people who are having issues can play it. :)
@ryan-brenner thank you very much! Our team is incredibly proud of how our main character turned out :)
@oort thank you! :)
@fizzpowmike1 thank you for your kind words! Actually, the puzzles are fully functional in the game. The buttons have to be pushed in a certain sequence in order to drop an item, and the crates need to be pushed into a certain order. For the crates, there's a hint in the pathway towards the puzzle room. Glad you enjoyed the game! We were planning on explaining the "item pickup costing your life" mechanic more but ran out of time. :)
@memel06 thank you for the kind words! :)
@craftlord thank you! :)
@xyz π
@karmicretribution thank you! if there's one thing we could've added to our entry, explaining how much life an item takes would've been top priority. However, we ran out of time. :)
@belug23 Thank you very much! Glad you found the credits. :)
@fluffy-kaeloky thank you! We designed it like that because we really liked how in breath of the wild you can go and attack the final boss right from the start. We thought that if you had the option to fight the final boss and lost, you would be more incentivized to go and search for better tools. Probably should have made that more clear, but as always time gets on the way :) thanks for playing!
@jamesolivermusic thanks very much for playing! Hopefully next time around I can make some truly ominous and powerful music for the bosses. :)
@duke thank you very much for the detailed feedback, we were talking about possibly expanding on this idea later this year and your feedback is very helpful considering its from an objective viewpoint. I agree with you on the camera needing to be ahead of the player, and that's probably going to be one of the first things we fix if we expand on this game. Hitboxes were an issue that would have been corrected had we had more time. Thank you again for your feedback! :)
@kaiomoi thank you for playing! we were planning to add ui that would explain how much blood an item takes from you, but we ran out of time. :)
@zanagi Thanks for playing! We designed it similar to breath of the wild where you could go straight for the final boss with the stick, or explore a bit and gather items/solve puzzles to face the final boss better prepared :)
@sempiternal thank you very much! the fullscreen issue was my fault, I designed the UI and it doesn't scale so were stuck at the resolution i made it, and The pixel perfect issue was also my fault because I designed the camera lmfao. If we decide to update the game I'll have to do the most work i think lol. thanks for playing!
Thanks a lot @max-torn! I think next time we'll make the puzzles a bit easier, it seems quite a few people got stuck on them. :)
@hunter-towe thank you very much for playing! I agree that it is short, we tried to keep it at a really small scope in order to not over-do it considering this is the first game we've ever completed. :)
@ursagames just watched your playthrough, thanks for checking it out! Glad you had fun, and that people got to see the credits from my incredible team. :)
@pcoridan thanks for playing! The reason it hurt you was because you trade your blood for items. Thats our take on "your life is currency" :)
The gameplay is solid, however the art could use some work. I always find that it helps to do practice art for a couple days or even a week before the jam in order to get better results. Great first attempt!! Keep up the good work!!
I really liked your game, it was a lot of fun! I had a blast the whole time. Really loved the humor and the art. I ended up really happy but really broke, just like real life lmfao! thank you!Capture.PNG
Great game! Loved the spaghetti monster. Only issue i had was the lack of sound and the text resizing as the others mentioned but other than that I actually really enjoyed it, and thought it was really funny. thank you :)
Wow what a throwback!! The art is really top notch. The gameplay is pretty much par for the course for an NES game (in terms of difficulty) and I really like the idea that you could play it on an original NES too! Great stuff.
The style is to die for!!! Whoever did the art should be super proud. The gameplay is great, and I had a blast. Thanks for making this game!!! :)
love the art style!
I loved the art style! it really made it stand out from the crowd. The gameplay is very good as well. :)
I loved it so much. i immediately crashed my naked ass into the picnic bench. 10/10
@jan5366x thanks for playing!
@corny sorry that happened with the burger game, and I'm going to hopefully fix the audio issue tonight when I get back from school. Thanks for playing! :)
@veeti-sundqvist we feel the same way about it lol. Thanks for playing.
I like how you can dash from one end of the map to the other lmao. Great game! I had a lot of fun playing it this morning. :)
Love the concept and the art! The gameplay was fun, The enemies could've used some type of hit marker like modulating the sprite or a particle effect but other than that it was great!
@captaindaws Thanks for the response! Yeah a large part of the jank was due to the time constraint and the audio issues have to do with the HTML version. Apologies about that! Downloadable versions are going up now for windows and macOS/Linux.
@brenan Thank you! :)
@zebraatomica Thank you very much for the feedback! Yes it was originally planned to be able to yeet people around and stuff but it unfortunately had to be cut because it was too wonky with our current system. :(
@raeya Thanks! Yeah those two things were buggy for us too but we had to push back fixing it because the dungeon suddenly didn't work an hour before the deadline and we basically worked till the end to get the game in general to work haha.
@memoryfloater I think overscoping was a large part of the issues. We put too much time into a half-working dungeon system and had plans for chests in empty rooms but unfortunately ran out of time to implement the feature. Thanks for the feedback!
@theaxe316 Thanks! Yeah the enemies rushing you at the start was something we fixed but it broke after we submitted it and I feel like fixing that big of a bug would defeat the point of the jam :( Thank you for your feedback!
@conor-galvin Thanks for letting me know about that UI bug, I haven't experienced that before. Weird! I appreciate the feedback. :)
I love this so much! Great graphics and sound design, very fun to play too!
@bakemonomori Thanks for playing!
@maliyshock apologies for it being laggy. Was this on the web version?
@feraligatr Thank you! Checkpoints would've probably helped the flow of the game a bit for sure haha.
@theaidency Thank you very much for the kind words and for playing!!
@ninnec Thanks for playing! The jump is something we are really proud of, it turned out really good for a first attempt. The circular shader was also a first for us regarding shaders, glad you liked it!!
@pulni Thanks for playing! Apologies for the difficulty, that is something we would definitely focus on if we decided to do another platformer like this.
@overlook-studios Thanks for playing! Apologies for the difficulty, our original thinking was that the levels were short enough that checkpoint would not be needed however when we started making them bigger and bigger we kinda realized we messed up there haha!
@natethegreat Thanks for playing and for the kind words! With the bug, which area was that in?
@gord10ahmet deepest apologies for the discomfort, that was definitely not our goal! The next time we try to do something experimental like this we will definitely add some comfort options. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
@adnonymous5 Thank you for playing and for the kind words! The circular look is exactly what we were looking for, didn't want to look like every other platformer lol.
@jasper-hansen You're definitely right and we had some serious debate regarding that, however we made the decision to show off the ice level first as we felt it was the most polished and wanted to show off our best in case people didn't want to continue. Thanks for playing!!
@deviantdear Thanks for playing and for the kind words! We will definitely keep accessibility a focus moving forward regarding the discomfort from the shader.
@trexxak Thanks for playing! Apologies for the difficulty, definitely something that required more fine tuning than we put in for sure.
@corbak Thanks for playing! I appreciate the feedback. I died a lot too lol
@jrevel Thanks for playing! Yeah for a first attempt the physics are pretty good but there's definitely room for improvement. Thanks for the suggestions, I will bring them up if we decide to do another platformer sometime!
@almost Congratulations on being the first to get out of bounds in our game haha! Yeah difficulty is going to be addressed and be a top priority if we ever make another project similar to this. Thanks for playing!
@flying-dog-fish Thanks for playing! Apologies for the difficulty.
@dimini-inc Thanks for playing! Apologies for the difficulty, and I am really glad you liked the soundtrack, I made the tracks myself! I will make them available to download on itch.io before the end of the day today.
@dimini-inc The music is available on the itch page as well as at site12's soundcloud! https://soundcloud.com/user-138821557
One of my favourite entries! Thanks a lot guys! @raphiell @samazki
@chris-hay yeah there's a bugfix update coming that will fix that, it was literally one line of code that I forgot, sorry about that lol
@junebug Thanks for playing and the great feedback June!
@wouterk12 Thanks for playing, totally missed that seed bag issue! I have since fixed the issue.
@artman Thanks for playing, I think you are right about the economy issues, I have since made adjustments to every price and made the weeds give a little cash to avoid the issues you mentioned!
This game is so cool! You know you've done good when people are saying that they played the game more than once, and I definitely played it like 5 times trying to get a higher score. Really inventive mechanic, loved the music, good stuff!
Very funny, the concept is entertaining and the vomit stuff made me actually laugh out loud! Very cute, could be fleshed out a bit more but of course this is LD so no big deal there. Very cute!
This one really grew on me as I was playing it! Loved the simple and effective art style, every icon was easy to understand and I hadn't played 2048 before but I got the hang of it after a couple of tries. Really no notes, a well polished and fun little LD game! Great work!
Great work! Loved the atmosphere and the doom vibes. The PNGs at the top right were such a nice touch! This game reminds me of trying to get my cats in the car to go to the vet, the cats just scattering as I run around with a leash trying to grab them lol. Loved the game!
This was so cool! We were playing this game and laughing because it looks like a recreation of one of our artist's organization scheme. Really loved all the little details like the pop up windows and the hovering and the little godot icon. :)
Really liked how the game looked and played, and the humor was definitely the highlight. One note would be I feel like the playable character should have been at the bottom instead of the top, definitely thought that at first. Great entry!
I actually really enjoyed this game a lot, I'm a sucker for weird games, and this definitely is one of those. Tuesday and the protagonist's dialogue felt well suited for the environment and the city was really well done! I loved the vibe, the music, greybox city, and haphazard sprites all felt really cohesive together in a way that I didn't expect! Great work!
This is genuinely one of the best games I have played this LD, so fun! When I got to the level where there was the two white crawly guys running at you, I just burst into laughter because I died immediately lol. Really inventive take on the theme and FPS games in general. Loved it!
Really liked how focused the game is, it does its mechanics and it does it well! It felt great to try a few times and finally tokyo-drift your way into the wormhole. The music was very cute and fit the overall vibe very well. Great entry!
Wow I really loved this game! One of the few LD games I have played that absolutely NAILED the vibe in every way. The audio, the assets, the game mechanics all fed into this thick sludge of an atmosphere and it sucked me in! So cool. If you don't mind sharing, how the hell did you do that cool particle effect in the cell? I use godot as well and it would be so useful to know roughly how that was set up. If not no worries, thanks for making a really cool game!
This game was so freaking cool, loved the atmosphere and it genuinely jumpscared me pretty good! I loved how streamlined and focused the gameplay was, and it was a really well designed puzzle. Really no notes, one of the best ludum dare games I have played.
This game really surprised me with how well the player cat's animations done are, the little fall animation as you walk off a ledge was a nice touch. The lighting mechanic was really well done, I was very pleasantly surprised with how in-depth the idea was fleshed out. I also really loved the hand grabbing the cat as the antagonist, that was such a unique idea and it really surprised me in the best way. All in all great entry!
Really loved the CRT look and the general vibe, the lighting looked great and it felt very spooky! One issue I had was that at the end of the run where the guys are like moving left and right and you have to go thru them I just chose to die instead of going through it again the other way because I knew from earlier that the game saved the object already even if I died, so there wasn't much incentive. So i'd say that might be something to consider for next time if that wasn't intended. Overall very cool!
If I could 3d print a car, I would.
I had a lot of fun playing the game, its really endearing. I would say really the only small issues I came up with was I didn't really know how the first minigame worked with the close button running around on the screen, but the clippy one was a funny and kinda smart way to go about deleting files! Great work!
I really loved the mood you created, it felt very cramped and dingey, I think it worked really well. The audio is also really well done, the horn and red lights scared me when I was heading towards a rock! Really cool little game.
Really loved the art, and the limited note taking was a really innovative mechanic! Only thing I could say is that the sound that played during dialogue was not exactly appealing, but it wasn't the end of the world. All in all, great job, One of the better games I have played!
Thank you @reaxt! The wall will actually tell you where to go if you find the other item and get stuck on the "noose".
@laniph thanks for playing! For what it's worth, the game wasn't designed to be unplayably scary or full of jumpscares. If you find yourself wanting to go back in, it's not likely to scare you unless you let it.
@drgcandle thanks! We are really proud of how the game looks. Yeah it was a lot of work to get that look in under 72hrs lol
@captainspacecat thank you!
@mactinite thanks for playing and letting us know about the crash, we will investigate.
@marju thank you! The camera wobble is supposed to minorly increase when closer to the ghosts and stuff, we will investigate if there is a bug.
@the4thcircle what platform are you on? MacOS? I can put out a build for you this afternoon!
Hi @andriybyelikov, thereβs a walk through on the itch.io page if you get stuck. Thanks so much for playing, sorry it wasnβt clear where to go!
Loved the art style, and the gameplay was really awesome :) I kept messing up the arrow keys lol
Great work! Loved the art style, and the card gameplay was really inventive! movement speed was a little fast, and the sensitivity was a little high for looking around, but those are minor issues. Had a lot of fun playing :)
Very cool! the player controller felt snappy and it was fun to fly around! Loved all the art and the sounds.
felt like playing bugsnax, but with tomatoes and cucumbers! Was a lot of fun, loved the procedurally animated feet for the pc and the art style. Great job!
Very fun game! Loved the little creatures.β
