LD46 — Keep it alive

Dimmer by Chaseplays 2020-04-22T08:11:01Z

Super fun platformer. Music is excellent and definitely the highlight of this game for me. I also liked how the game itself got dimmer when the battery depleted, instead of having a generic timer or counter at the top. Little effects like those really added to that urgent feeling of getting to the next level. Great job!

Space Fight by LordDaniel 2020-04-21T21:18:19Z

I'm a sucker for bullet hell games so I had to give this a shot. The patterns are fun to dodge and the gameplay overall is quite solid. I would love to see more levels though, as I noticed that some of them repeat a lot. Some variations in the bullets themselves, like adjusting their speed or making them curve, would add to the difficulty of the game. Great job overall!

Blightstone by Nimphious 2020-05-09T22:46:41Z

The platforming controls feel really good and smooth and the pixel art is superb. You could make a really fun platformer with these controls. Even though you didn't finish, this is still really promising!

A drop of light. by cowa 2020-05-09T23:52:17Z

Really enjoyed the ambient noises and the overall mood of the game. The game itself was short but sweet, and I liked the dark aesthetic that you had going on. Nice work!

Cell Defence by bongo227 2020-04-22T08:19:04Z

Fun game! Great controls and a neat upgrade system. I think one addition you could make is a radar, so that it's easier to tell where enemies are coming from. Also, the windows version has some bugs - it freezes very briefly every time I kill an enemy or collect coins. Other than that, great job!

Unnamed Space Game by Justin_C 2020-04-21T05:38:41Z

Pretty challenging game! The difficulty goes up quite a lot from the tutorial. Very interesting mechanics with capturing ships though. Great job!

A Cold Walk Home by Stefanie Leitch 2020-04-21T21:49:51Z

I LOVED this game! For me, the highlight was definitely the storytelling. I grew more attached to the creature as I read its descriptions! Overall, I'm super impressed that you managed to make this game in 48 hours. There's a complete story, a gathering and crafting system, several maps, and even some combat! Amazing job you did in such a short amount of time.

I have two comments on areas that could be improved: * I think the creature's hunger should decrease more slowly. Sometimes, I felt like I didn't have enough time to read the dialogue because I was too focused on gathering food and monitoring the creature's hunger. It made me have to skim through the dialogue quickly, which is a shame because it's the best part of the game. * The boar should have less HP. I spent a ton of time chasing it and whacking it, and barely had enough hunger to make it back.

Overall, amazing game you made, and definitely one of the best I've played in this jam!

Keep the light alive by MaximBegunov 2020-04-21T20:18:24Z

This is a really neat puzzle game! Some of the levels are actually pretty challenging and require you to think outside of the box. One area of improvement I'd recommend is making the light hitbox a little more lenient, because you have to be pretty exact when lining up the light with the switches. Overall, great game!

Keep It Alive top-down shooter by kkrac 2020-04-21T20:54:47Z

Fun game, great mechanics. I would add more power to the basic shot and take away some power from the special shot - the basic shot deals very little damage but the special shot, if you fire multiple of them at once, can take down enemies with a second. The boss fight was very fun though and the music is great! Great job on the game overall!

Feeding Time! by Drachmor 2020-04-21T20:37:44Z

What I really like the most about this game is the recoil system. It's such a simple idea that really adds another layer of depth to the platforming aspect of the game. The graphics were also super cute and they fit the theme of your game super well!

One improvement I suggest is making the spoiled milk color a little more obvious. I kept dying on the first level running into the spoiled milk patch and getting confused, thinking that it was the same as the regular milk. I'd make it more yellow to help it distinguish it from the white milk.

Overall, super cute and great game!

Lifeline by Begocio 2020-04-21T05:59:40Z

Super cool game, the graphics are great and the lifeline aspect fits the theme really well. The perspective shift is innovative, but it's also way more difficult than the 2d sidescrolling mode. I also like how the levels are randomized each time you restart. Amazing job overall!

Beam Slinger by egawag 2020-05-09T23:47:43Z

This game is so pretty and so polished. I love how the music changes based on your speed, which really adds on to the atmosphere of this game. The particle effects are amazing, and it was immensely fun just zinging around the map. The astronaut dude is super cute, and I loved the opening cutscene that came with it. Incredible job you guys did!

juxta.LINE by fiaKaiera 2020-04-21T23:20:24Z

For a game made in 23 hours, this is super well polished. Graphics and audio are superb, and I really like that beat counter you have at the top. The gameplay itself is thrilling and addictive - definitely a great entry to this jam!

One piece of feedback I have is to make the penalty for misclicking harsher. I found that you could trivialize the game by just spamming the left and right mouse buttons, since you gain so much health back from clearing bugs. I'd take off more hp if you make a misclick to make the game a little more balanced.

Overall, amazing job on this!

LD46: The Lighthouse at the End of the Universe by LMB 2020-05-09T22:59:48Z

I'm one of the people that played it on a keyboard, and like the others who've already commented, I found aiming to be really difficult. I would make it so that if you're playing on a keyboard, pressing the arrow keys makes the ship rotate gradually instead of going at strict 45 degree angles. Using the mouse as movement would've helped too.

You did really well on the audio though. The background music is fitting and the SFX reminds me of those old-school retro games, which is good.

Unended by slotha 2020-04-21T06:32:17Z

This game is awesome! Graphics are simple but fit the style very well, and the gameplay itself is quite addicting. Some background music would've been nice, but this is already really good for two days of work. Really polished game overall!

Lights On by henriquecanella 2020-04-21T05:26:24Z

Instructions were really cute! My main gripe is that the attack hitbox is too small, often times I'd die from trying to get too close to attack while they were stunned. Good job overall though!

Keep It Alive! by SeriouslyCrunchy 2020-04-21T21:56:15Z

Cute game! I liked the bit of dialogue, it's a nice touch. For added difficulty, you should make the fuel not recharge until the player lands on a platform. I found that I could just hover in the air indefinitely, which trivialized most of the game. Also, there's a bug where if you stay on a platform and not move, you'll hover in the air without any player input once the platform leaves.

Overall, nice submission!

SURVIVOR by Amirreza01 2020-04-21T06:16:09Z

Nice game! I would've liked hotkeys to switch between the shield and platform so that it's a little easier. Great job!

Party While Alive by detdu 2020-05-09T23:04:15Z

Really short game, but really cute too. Loved the dialogue and the graphics, they fit so well together. Even though the story itself was basic, you nailed the mood. Good job!

Save the Sun by JProclaimer 2020-04-21T22:38:01Z

Great game for a first submission! I do think the shield should be made a little bigger, as its tiny hitbox makes hitting the asteroids and ice difficult. I also think using the mouse instead of the keyboard as controls would definitely improve the gameplay a lot, since the mouse gives the player more control. Nice work!

Protect The Artifact by WillyPa 2020-04-21T20:27:18Z

Pretty good game for 48 hours! I definitely think you could've added more to the game though. As of right now there's not much to do besides running into enemies.

Things that you could add: * Different types of enemies, like ones that shoot projectiles, for example * Some background music. * Particle effects when you kill an enemy

Things I like: * The SFX when killing an enemy is pretty neat. * The achievement system is also a really cool feature of the game. * Overall graphics are good and fit the game's style very well

Great job on your game!

The Abomination by vano 2020-04-21T06:24:43Z

Music is nice and hectic. The combining stuff could use some work, but for a first game you really knocked it out of the park. Great job!

Feed Me More! by Itskdog 2020-04-21T06:52:20Z

The monster is really cute! The gameplay is simple, yet still really fun, and I love how you incorporated crafting aspects into the game. The monster's dialogue is also hilarious and adds to the humor. Great job!

Blokrok by VerttiXPertti 2020-04-21T21:00:31Z

Once I realized you could swing the rocks around at insane speeds, the game became a lot more fun lol. I think being able to move the paper slightly forwards and backwards, so that it's not confined to a strict radius around the scissors, would've added more to the gameplay. The graphics are cute and the overall gameplay is quite addictive! Overall, solid entry!

Fencing Meka by Solweak 2020-04-24T00:42:11Z

You nailed the mood. The graphics and audio are top notch, and the dialogue was pretty fun to read too. My only complaint are the hidden platforms that blend in with the foreground, trying to figure out how to navigate those can be a little annoying. Other than that, definitely one of the best entries I've played. Great job!

Energence by noirdrive 2020-04-22T08:40:32Z

Really pretty game, I think you got the graphics and audio down pat. Unfortunately I think the game is too hard because the controls and hitboxes are very unforgiving - I often died on the second screen by barely touching the spikes on the wall, and controlling the character with the dash is quite hard. For your first game though, this is really impressive! Great work!

Square Loves Circle! by meelo 2020-04-21T06:06:22Z

You really did a great job setting the mood of the game! The music and story was heartwarming, and the puzzles were enjoyable too. I wish the controls were less slippery, sometimes moving around and walljumping can be tough. Great job!

Rock. The Game. by jaschez 2020-04-21T21:11:21Z

I wouldn't have guessed it from just looking at the thumbnail, but this game is actually super polished. The intro cutscene is hilarious and the dialogue is charming. The actual gameplay itself is really fun and addicting, and all of the special effects - the zoom, the music, the camera shake - they all really add into the thrill. Amazing job!

Core by ZenithSal 2020-05-09T22:52:13Z

Simple but cool game you've got going here! The controls feel a little off and took some time getting used too. Music is really good and flicking the cubes in different directions is really fun. Nice work!

runrunrunrun by ZabaMan 2020-04-21T20:47:10Z

Unfortunately I don't have anyone else to play this with, but I can tell that this would definitely be a blast to play with multiple people. The hand-drawn graphics are charming and trying to dodge the red stuff is actually really fun. Amazing party game you created!

Saving The Light by Dpeet1 2020-04-22T07:12:01Z

Really pretty graphics and some fun platforming action in this game! I'd suggest adding an indicator for the red and blue blocks (e.g. a "ghost block") so that it's easier to plan your jumps ahead. I'd also keep the music playing between each level and not have it reset. Overall, great game!

The Little Ship That Could by gama-11 2020-04-21T22:05:45Z

Pretty challenging game! I would've added in a few extra lives though, because one life is really punishing. I also would've made the green bullets a little bigger and brighter, they can be pretty hard to see in the black background. The gameplay and dodge mechanic itself is solid though. Fun game overall!

Frost & Fire by Cryptomnesic 2020-05-09T23:15:31Z

One of the more unique compo games I've played here! It took me a while to understand how to play, but once I did I had a blast. I love the retro graphics too and the SFX. Overall, great job!

Keep the Triangle alive! by Abb1x 2020-04-22T08:26:40Z

Really simple game, but can get surprisingly challenging. I think being able to move the triangle around with arrow keys, as well as adding more varied patterns, would elevate the game even more. I noticed that the bullet patterns tend to repeat a lot. Overall though, fun and great submission!

It Alive by Mathurin 2020-05-09T23:59:46Z

I found the literal sense of "Keep it alive" to be really funny, lol. I like the added mechanic of throwing the sign and retrieving it, it adds another layer of challenge to the game, especially on the level with tons of enemies. Overall, nice work!

The Offer by TheWinrawr 2020-04-21T23:35:08Z

@alaah Thank you for the advice, it's very much appreciated! Yeah, I definitely regret not being able to add in some creepy noises. I'll keep your advice in mind for the next jam and learn how to create some SFX on my own!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Toil of Pnamos by unpronounceable 2020-10-09T02:31:58Z

Fun typing game. I really like how you put in capital letters and other symbols, it really amps the difficulty up. Nice work!

Looping Stuck by peeweek 2020-10-07T04:03:01Z

You nailed the mood for this game. Graphics and audio are top notch. I personally would have liked to see some sort of ending or a resolution, but maybe the message is that being in a toxic relationship can feel like an endless loop. Either way, amazing job!

DEATH STRING by miziziziz 2020-10-08T06:38:53Z

Props to the artist and the sound guy, the graphics and audio are SUPER well polished. I love the electric and camera shake effects too, they really add a ton of oomph. The controls felt really good and the mechanic itself is really unique and fun to toy around with. I also really enjoyed the boss fight in the end, since it introduces a different challenge altogether.

Most of my gripes with this game concerns balancing. I found out that once you connect the loop, your character essentially turns into a hurtbox and you can run into enemies yourself to kill them. This trivializes the game, since there's so many hearts and you restore back to full hp after each level. I think it's a lot more interesting to kill enemies by trapping them inside, but what I would've liked to see is the loop close in on itself after you connect it. I found it a little annoying to kill the slower moving enemies since I had to drag the loop myself. I think it'd also be so much more satisfying to trap a bunch of enemies, then kill them all at once by making the loop shrink. The other issue I have is in the final boss fight, sometimes the camera goes wonky after I close the loop. It might be because the camera shake is super high when hitting multiple enemies.

Overall though, definitely one of my favorite games I've played. Love the concept, and I had a ton of fun playing it.

Core Defender by Hadi Danial 2020-10-09T02:24:20Z

Fun game, I liked trying out the different weapons! I think the player should be a little faster though, it does feel pretty slow moving around in a loop.

Temporium by Untitled Studios 2020-10-08T03:12:33Z

Very fun puzzle game, I think the announcer's deadpan voice was my favorite part of this game. The gameplay took some time to figure out, but once I did doing each puzzle was a blast. Great job!

Orbit Jumper by Bentekiller 2020-10-08T02:34:39Z

I like the idea, but the game itself is really hard! There are some spots where you have to guess where to aim since the next star is too far away. I would add in a feature where hovering your mouse to the edges of the screen moves the screen so you can see further away. I'd also make it so that when you die, you respawn at the last star you orbited so that it's not as frustrating.

Stuck in a loop by change 2020-10-07T04:37:33Z

The concept is super creative and the levels really make your brain work! You've expanded on the core mechanic really well and the level progression is good too. Great job!

Chuck In A Hoop by J0ye 2020-10-08T02:28:16Z

This game is super funny, I love the sounds you put in. The gameplay itself is also pretty fun, though the chicken is a little hard to control. I'd decrease the air friction somewhat and speed up the time slowing ability, I think it slows time down way too much.

Tower of Madness by Eduardo Yukio 2020-10-08T03:28:36Z

Pretty funny game, though the platforming is super difficult. Some of the jumps are super precise and I think the spike hitbox should only be at the tip instead of the whole thing. I did like that you put in checkpoints though, they definitely help a lot! The controls also felt pretty good, it's just that the spike placement made the game a little too difficult.

Loopsed In Space by Todd Mitchell 2020-10-08T02:16:27Z

I really liked the ads, they add a lot of humor into the game. I think the asteroid hitbox is too big and the coins spawn inside the asteroids pretty often. I'm also not sure what the coins do, they spawn pretty slowly and I collected 20 of them but couldn't find a shop or anything.

BipBoop.exe by Julien Darras 2020-10-09T02:19:58Z

Loved this game. The minigames are fun and the graphics and music are really cute too! I also love the atmosphere you implemented in this game with the compiler messages and windows. I think my only piece of feedback would be to make the games a little harder as you progress further, but I understand that's difficult to do especially in a three day limit. Overall, amazing job!

Loop Invader by ZwodahS 2020-10-08T03:59:13Z

That was a pretty fun game, I managed to get pretty far without dying! I would definitely tone down the particle effects though, because they can obscure the enemy bullets really easily. I'd also maybe add some upgrades or powerups you can get to make the gameplay a little more interesting.

Portal Pete: The night-time Sheep by Kazatan 2020-10-07T04:17:41Z

There's a lot of guesswork involved in this game, but to be honest I really enjoyed the process of trying everything until something works. I also love the 2d and 3d crossover, it has a very unique charm to it! I think the only part I got slightly annoyed by were the switches and the boxes - due to switch's very tiny height it's actually pretty hard to get the box to stay on the switch. Overall, nice game!

Time Prison by Tadeas Paule 2020-10-08T02:06:59Z

Pretty cool idea! I liked how you implemented the theme, there's a lot of experimentation going on that I enjoyed. I did run into a bug where the keycard in the first level wouldn't show up again, which prevented me from going further.

The experiment by Brice Mahier 2020-10-09T02:11:36Z

Nice job! A simple game but I had fun playing it. It's definitely missing a progression system though, I would increase the amount of letters you have to type in as you get further into the game.

WhereIsMyWand? by Szkocka 2020-10-07T04:24:06Z

I like that you added the hints, I would have been really lost without them. I enjoyed that you gain additional mechanics as you collect the items, it gives a nice feeling of progression. Nice job overall!

Domain of the Time Wizard by BookerBlueJay 2020-10-07T04:50:27Z

Very clean and polished game. The mechanics are simple but the controls felt really fluid. The boss fight is also really well designed, I like that he has obvious tells so the fight doesn't feel unfair. I also like how looping serves as a purpose of discovering new paths and more orbs. Overall, amazing job!

Hall Of Mirrors by cookie042 2020-10-08T03:43:55Z

I really like the mirror effect you got going on with the graphics. The idea is really unique and I had fun solving the puzzles! The physics are a little finnicky though, moving the boxes around is pretty difficult.

Orbital Hostage by Meek Bits 2020-10-08T03:54:31Z

That game was surprisingly very fun and challenging given how simple it is. I really like the difficult ramp, it starts of really easy but gets super hard in the last 10 or so seconds. It's super challenging and really satisfying when you finally beat the game. I also like that you can hurt your own ship too, so you actually have to be somewhat mindful of where you shoot. Great job!

Down the Bullet Hole by Justin Klinchuch 2020-10-07T05:02:24Z

I'm a big fan of bullet hells so I had a ton of fun with this game. I really enjoyed the variety of enemies and that there's actual level progression with the big growing circle in the middle. The only thing that I would've changed is using the mouse to aim and shoot instead of the arrow keys, since the keys limit the direction that you can shoot. Great job overall!

The Dark Cold Forest by masonmasonoff 2020-10-07T03:47:20Z

The graphics are super well done, they're definitely the highlight of this game. I also love the little camera zoom that happens whenever you strike an enemy, it gives a lot of oomph to your attacks.

I do wish the player character was a little faster, moving around seems pretty slow. The hitbox of your axe swing is also kind of small and slow. I found it pretty difficult to hit enemies without getting hit back, and hitting something above you requires really precise aiming. And like others have said, I would have liked to see a use for the gold, logs, and rocks you collect, but I understand the time constraints.

Overall, great job!

Spinning Around by Dmitry Mozgin 2020-10-08T03:36:15Z

Simple but a fun game! The visuals are charming and collecting the gems was a fun challenge. I think the difficult ramps up too quickly though - it starts off really easy with the green gems, then gets slightly harder when the first red spike shows up. Then it gets insanely difficult immediately when you jump to that one hoop with a billion spikes. I still had a great time with it though. Nice job!

Vicious Circle by CameronOtten 2020-10-08T02:49:52Z

Very unique and relaxing game. At first I was a little confused on the goal, but I just collected all the light orbs and cleared the dark ones. Aesthetics and music are really pretty and they complement each other well. Nice work!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Descent by Predominant 2021-04-27T21:59:23Z

Fun lunar game, my highest score was around 265. It's really really difficult, but if you were going for the QWOP/Getting Over It style of gameplay then you nailed it. It's a simple game with simple mechanics, but it has a high skill ceiling which I like - the more you play it the better you'll get.

I'm not really a fan of the sensitivity of the turning controls though. The turning itself has acceleration, and I would've preferred it if the ship just rotated at a fixed rate instead. I also think the ship should have a visual cue when it loses health, like flashing red briefly - I didn't notice that hitting the rocks lightly would make me lose health.

Overall, great work on the game. I had fun trying to go as far below as I could.

Project Orpheo by zondarg 2021-04-26T23:16:24Z

Fun game! I like the flying mechanic with the gems, it makes the game slightly harder as you progress but not so hard that it becomes frustrating. I also like how you have to journey back up the cave - even though you're taking the same path, it's more challenging because of the added weight.

I will say that it does feel weird not being able to walk as an astronaut. If that was intentional, I would have probably used a small ship or a rover as the character instead. I also think the checkpoints should be permanent instead of collect-them-and-disappear gems, as if you get hit when you're going back up the top you can easily get sent back all the way to the bottom.

Overall, great game! I had fun with it.

Super Space Explorer by DigitalCrest 2021-04-29T21:22:37Z

Nice job for your first Godot game! It's simple but surprisingly difficult and fun. I actually like the limited horizontal movement as it adds some challenge to dodging the meteors.

The music gets very repetitive, so I'd add in some extra melody and notes. I think it'd also be nice if you added in a gun to shoot the meteors, as you can get easily trapped sometimes.

Nice game overall, I got a score of 17.

Boneitis - Quest for the Cure by patvanmackelberg 2021-04-27T22:42:05Z

For a two day game this has an impressive amount of content put in. The dialogue is funny and the gameplay is simple but pretty enjoyable. The pixel art is also very well done and I like that you can buy upgrades. I also really like that you put checkpoints in the game and that you don't have to go through the previous floors to exit the cave.

I would increase the magnet size for coin collection, because it feels pretty slow standing still for a second each time you break a rock or chest. Switching weapons also feels pretty awkward. What I would've done is bind the weapon switch to the spacebar, then visually draw the sword and pickaxe on the player's hand so he knows which one he's holding. Finally, $100,000 is way too high because the gameplay starts getting pretty repetitive well before that point. I think $10,000 would've been a good enough goal instead.

Overall, nice job on the game! I didn't manage to get the $100,000 but I had fun with it.

The Elephant in the Room by CeeJap 2021-04-27T23:34:35Z

Love the mood of this game, it's super charming. The elephant is super cute and the gameplay is simple but fun. I really like the graphics and the environment as well.

I'd definitely add some checkpoints in the game though. Dying after you get hit once is fine with checkpoints, but not if you have to go all the way at the beginning and replay everything again. I'd also reverse the colors of the water bar. Usually, the dark color is used to indicate a bar is empty, not full. I was pretty confused on how to fill the bar until I realized it was depleting, not filling.

Overall, great entry. I had fun and managed to beat the boss.

Dig 'Till You Drown! by Yeomsley 2021-04-29T20:29:09Z

There's some very creative mechanics in this game, but the controls definitely feel a little finnicky. I had a lot of trouble doing the "Impossible Pickaxe Trick" as well as swimming up the water. I also would've liked your gems to be saved after death, I wasn't a fan of losing all of them after drowning. The Lady Cerulean story looks really interesting though, and I would've liked to see what happens when you beat the game.

Low Pipe by SpaceGuinea Productions 2021-04-26T23:29:28Z

Simple but fun game. I like that you can attack in all four directions, and trying to outrun the rock while dodging all the enemies is pretty fun too. I also like that you can adjust the blood particles, turning them up really high makes the game look funny.

The game could use more visual clarity. The enemies should be a different color than the player, like orange or something (since red is already used for the blood). The rock should also be a different color - at first I didn't know what the falling black thing was until I got hit by it. The collection radius for the particles should also be much bigger so that you don't have to stand still to get them. The first time, I didn't know that you could actually collect them because I was killing and running past the enemies so fast.

Overall, nice work! I had fun playing.

RUN FROM STUFF (2D Chase Game) by PookiPoot 2021-04-26T23:42:41Z

I love how self-explanatory the title is lol. The game was really fun. I like how zoomed out everything is and the trail effects, it really does feel like you're going super fast. I love falling down especially, because then all of the buildings just blur past you.

I would've added a checkpoint each time you reach a new level, because getting hit once is really punishing. I also doing think walls should halt your momentum completely, because running into one feels pretty bad. Instead, if you hit a wall while jumping, you should just slide up. Finally, it would be really cool if you added a wind sound effect while falling, as well as a camera shake and some more particles when landing from a really big fall. There are a lot of points where you fall from a really big height, so I would've like to see that extra oomph from making a really big jump.

Overall, simple but fun game! I enjoyed playing it.

Escape into the Abyss by Raeino 2021-04-29T20:51:00Z

This game is super simple but at the same time, it's really creative and fun. I like that you have to work to save every miner and not just one, which makes every shape have its use. I also like that the cost of each shape increases over time so you can't just spam one shape over and over again.

Other than the balancing stuff other people have already mentioned, I would've allowed shape switching via scroll wheel. I also noticed that the bottom blocks don't get destroyed until they're fully on the screen, which I felt was a bit unintuitive.

Overall, simple but great game, I played it for a while.

Kiosk Tycoon by LordDaniel 2023-10-03T10:37:13Z

I like your take on the theme, you turned it into an inventory management game! I had fun keeping track of the different people and what items they were picking up. However on the fifth day or so everyone stopped buying anything, even though I restocked at least one of each item. I think there should be some indicator on what type of people will show up the next day, or what items will be trending. Overall fun game!

PELLET BOI by TechnoNugget 2023-10-05T07:22:06Z

Simple game but really good execution of the theme. The mechanics are super easy to understand, and it's really fun trying to puzzle my way through this game and plan out the most efficient paths to eat the green squares. The particle effects are also well done and add a lot to the simple graphics of this game. I managed to get a scored of 3925. Great job!

Turn it ! by Kaimon 2023-10-03T12:30:40Z

It's a very creative and relaxing puzzle game. The mechanics are very easy to understand and the graphics are cute. The rotating animations are smooth and I liked solving each puzzle to slowly carry my character over to the goal.

I think you should add checkpoints, dying near the end of a level and having to restart the whole thing can be pretty frustrating. I also think the left click to activate the rotation box is unnecessary, the controls would feel a lot smoother if you removed the clicking requirement. I would've also liked a way to rotate the blocks counterclockwise as well.

Overall, it's a very good game and I managed to beat it. Nice job!

Just why? by Donitz 2023-10-05T08:02:35Z

That was a throwback to the old flash days. I remember having fun playing these mouse-pointer maze games. Yours in particular is very well polished. The graphics are excellent and I love that you added the option of click to pause so we could reposition our mouse. I also really like the water level and its oxygen mechanics, that area really makes you take aggressive risks. A third checkpoint would have been nice but I managed to beat it with two. Great work!

Floodwater by John Gabriel 2023-10-05T08:10:46Z

Great game with fun puzzles. The mechanics are simple to understand but in combination they create some fun and tricky puzzles. I also appreciate the level design slowly introducing each mechanic and easing you into the gameplay. Nice work!

If I Fits, I Sits! by cheesepencil 2023-10-03T10:49:58Z

I love the idea of this game, the way you incorporated the jam theme is really cute and innovative. The game itself is simple but there's surprisingly a lot of depth and strategy. To get the highest score, you need to take risks and pay attention to both sides of the cat. Sometimes you want to stop the head first, sometimes you want to stop the tail. It's a really cool reaction game and I had a blast playing it. The only part I found a little iffy were the hitboxes, I felt like the cat's feet hitbox was slightly bigger than the sprite. Fantastic game, I got a high score of 2155!

Musical Tunnels by Lakea 2023-10-05T07:36:19Z

Pretty creative idea, and I like the simple mechanics too. Aligning the ship with the obstacles is pretty fun since I'm also doing it by listening to the sounds. Later on though the games gets really hard, since the ship goes really fast and the songs get longer too. I definitely think you should add checkpoints, making a single mistakes means you have to start all the way over. Overall great game!

@livinamuk You just have to make a little less noise when you see the monster :)

CAVE by InitialPosition 2023-10-03T12:56:08Z

The graphics are good and I liked platforming my ways through the levels. I like the color palette change halfway through the game and the soundtrack is pretty catchy. I am not sure how the game fits the theme though, the mechanics are pretty much like a regular platformer other than occasionally disabling the turrets. I also think the control for moving down a platform (down+up) is a little weird. Overall though I had a lot of fun and I managed to get to the giant empty room which I assume is the end. Great work!

Limited Space in Space by Fifut 2023-10-03T11:45:09Z

The mechanics of this game are really fun. Normally I'm not a big fan of rocket ship controls, but you made them work well here. I like how each satellite you successfully launch poses a risk to your future rockets, and how you have to finesse your rockets within the launch zone. The game is pretty difficult but I had a lot of fun moving each rocket and avoiding the other satellites.

Personally I think the game is hard enough without a fuel bar. There were several times where my rocket fell over and I had to use all my fuel just to get it off the earth, and I had no more to control the rocket. I also think you should make the launch zones bigger, but gradually decrease them as you successfully deploy more satellites.

Overall, you did a great take on the theme and made a fun game with it. Great work!

This game is super polished and I like the minimalistic style. I really like the level generation visuals too, and the sound effects of the score counting up when you clear a level feels really satisfying to hear. The gameplay is simple but it's also quite intense as you race against the timer. The only suggestion I have is a preview for the next piece to help out with planning. Fantastic game, I managed to get a score of 1654.

Super Cube by Senso 2023-10-03T11:17:27Z

This game is really fun. The controls feel nice to use with a mouse and I like the visual and audio feedback you get from hitting the boxes. The blue boxes are actually a really good addition, they make the game quite challenging but sometimes you can pull off cool trick shots that net you a lot of boxes. I also like how you make the walls continuously close in which makes the gameplay more intense, when you have a smaller space you really have to strategically plan out your shots. The only part I found confusing was the super bar has four bars when you only need to his three pink squares. Great game!

Limited Grades by Triangle Point 2023-10-04T21:12:37Z

The intro is really cool and funny. I like the voiceover and the snarky comments from the narrator! The gameplay is a little confusing because I just kept hitting the boss and won, it seemed to end a little too quickly. There should be some visual feedback and sound effects for when you hit the boss. Overall fun game!

Office Spaced by RobertW 2023-10-03T10:13:51Z

Fun game! The action is fast-paced and the feedback from hitting enemies is satisfying. I like the music and the variety of enemies. I think you could have utilized the theme better, to me I felt like I had plenty of space to run around. I also think it would be fun if you could launch the chair towards the enemies and have it do damage. Great game overall!

TOBISHA by aerial 2023-10-03T12:10:29Z

I like how you put a management and a shooter game together. I also like the theme revolving around software bits "renting" out space on your computer and viruses trying to attack them, that was pretty creative. I'm not sure how you "lose" in the game, my units were getting hit quite a lot but nothing happened to them. The shooting part of the game is fairly simple and I am not sure if it serves much purpose to the game, to me it seems like there's supposed to be more features that connects it with the management part of the game but they are missing. Overall though I had fun playing it and deciding who to keep and kick out. Good work!

FELL OUT by daveranan 2023-10-03T13:54:10Z

I'm a sucker for cute animal characters so I really like the style of this game. The dialogue is funny and cheeky, the graphics are wonderful, and the music fits the atmosphere perfectly. The NPCs are super cute and I like how each of them has their own personality. The humor in this game is also top notch, especially the encounter with the fish.

I'm not sure how the game fits the theme, on the contrary I thought the map was way too big. I spent a majority of the game just boating around and trying to find the islands. A map of some sort in the UI would have really helped. Also I think the game could use less fetch quests, a lot of it was just going back and forth from places I've already been to and having to travel the giant map all over again.

I did manage to beat the game and overall I really enjoyed it. Great work!

Running out of space by Tal28 2023-10-03T11:27:56Z

I like your take on the classic asteroids game and how shooting down different asteroids have different effects. I also like how the music gradually speeds up as the borders close in. Personally I would have preferred up/down/left/right controls and mouse to shoot for the ship, using arrow keys to rotate has always felt clunky to me. Great work on your first entry!

Nice Park! by Barbabulle 2023-10-03T23:09:28Z

I like your interpretation of the theme! Crashing into other cars while parking yours is really fun and satisfying. I also like how there are different types of cars, like the monster truck and the fast sports car, so you're not parking the same car every time. I found the later levels pretty fun where you had to intentionally shove the other cars in the parking spots.

I think there should be a score requirement before you can move onto the next level. Right now you aren't really incentivized to park well. There are levels where I could not move anything at all and still get a decent score from the already parked cards.

Overall, great game and nice work! I managed to beat all the levels.
