Such a simple but nice mechanic. Very elegant graphics as well. Solid entry.

Nice work, I enjoyed it. The physics were really cool.
The game has a lot of polish to it! From the animation / damage graphics for the scissors, to the little way the high score is displayed after the first play, it's charming to play. I thought the SFX were cute too.
Once I got the hang of controlling the rocks I blocked (i.e. flinging them or balancing them), the game opened up on a whole another level!
One thing I noted is that the box can block rocks coming in without me doing anything, which is kinda strange, but not that bad.
I just love how you can fling the rocks around. This creates a cool risk where you can do cool shots to try and get the rocks in the crate.
Very nice! Everything worked perfectly and all the art was quite soothing. One thing was that it was difficult to tell which rocks were coming for you, and which you'd already hit. Maybe a color change once you hit a rock, would be nice. Anyway, it was a great entry! :clap:
@sayumeki Thanks a lot! I too noticed the rocks hitting the box, but I decided to keep it in, because I thought it adds a bit of humor/luck, which works well for the game in my opinion.
@n-o-games Glad you liked it.
i like it
@digitallimestone Thanks for playing and I do agree that the rocks should change their appearance more when they get hit. I guess I just didn't deem it that necessary considering the game is quite frantic anyways, but it would have made the game fairer.
Nice Game! Quite addictive. :)
Cool game I love that you can defend from stones with stones I even managed to give my scisors a little dead stone cap for upper body protection :D Difficulty scaling is strange tho - it seems that there is a point at which game wants you to rapidly lose and start to shoot stones 100x faster than before I think linear difficulty would be better than exponential (some thing to test tho)
@bigtinygames thanks for playing! I tried a few different difficulty progressions and ended up with the current one, but I acknowledge that it's not perfect.
It looks and feels really, really nice. Also, the kind poetry of the original idea made me happy.
Simple but effective. Nice touch with the cage at the bottom. It's pretty fun to fling rocks around trying to hit it. Especially with that "ourh" sound :laughing:
Awesome game, best moment was when I super hammered a rock and it just shot into the crate, felt awesome! Really nicely polished and the physics of the rocks makes it so much better! Awesome execution of a great idea
Very polished and easy to play, great job!
Neat simple game! Liked it. The physics when you hold a rock on the paper and throw them far away is super satisfying. Giving extra scores for stunts sound really good. I am probably going to make a game about that :P

Very cute game! I notice that I could actually swingthe the rock like a hammer and this game just turns out to be a baseball game lol btw its all make sense that the paper protects scissors from rocks. But why the paper wont be hurted by the scissor? they must has some special relationship anyway good job!
@foursay yeah I originally had an idea to have the scissors betray you or something, but it wouldn't have made much sense in the context of the game. I guess their relationship will remain a mystery. Thanks for playing.
Once I realized you could swing the rocks around at insane speeds, the game became a lot more fun lol. I think being able to move the paper slightly forwards and backwards, so that it's not confined to a strict radius around the scissors, would've added more to the gameplay. The graphics are cute and the overall gameplay is quite addictive! Overall, solid entry!
@thewinrawr Thanks. Originally I wasn't sure if I should make it go around in a circle or let it roam freely, but I settled with the former, because it made the game simpler and easier in a way. You also are able to flick the rocks fast with good accuracy, but it does require some practicing, which admittedly I've done quite a bit.
Nice game! So satisfying to use physic to shot a rock with another one, love it! Just the sounds was kind of repetitive but it's enough to understand the concept and have fun playing this game
I loved the simple, clean graphical style, and the gameplay was easy to understand and fun to interact with. I especially liked the addition of the moving cage, which gave me an additional objective, and kept the action from stagnating. If I'm being honest, I mostly died because I was desperately trying to tap rocks in the direction of the cage instead of fully worrying about blocking my scissors ;)
@duck-reaction thanks. I always tend to do the audio last when making a game so it's never great. I don't really even know how to properly edit audio...
@jason-woerner glad you liked it!
Yes I understand, sound design is very hard but you can start with trying to think about audio when you imagine your game, some ideas. Also random value on pitch or volume to make it less repetitive, not to much, just a little bit. And also add something in background, could be a sound discret like wind just to make a mood and fill the space :) But it's a really good work for game jam and it's hard to have everything in time, keep going!
A lot more fun than it looks :joy:, the physics interactions adds a lot I couldn't get a rock in the basket a single time though, but perhaps that reflects more on my skill...
Yeah this is much better than other similar games I've played from this compo. Art style is good. I love that you allowed some forgiveness in the shield. It was a little too forgiving at times though. I would have preferred a larger shield with less forgiveness but that's a small gripe. Other than that it's a good go at it man!
The game feels polished and complete, and is fun. The difficulty goes from easy to very hard too fast imo. I also find the cage interesting since you can push the rocks in, but I find it too hard at the moment. If it were something like 3 times as large, you could reliably send rocks by bumping them in the right direction, instead of simply trying tp send them in the area of the cage and hope for the best.
@dandala88 Thanks! What do you exactly mean with the shield being too forgiving?
@yorsh Thanks. Others have complained about the difficulty ramping up too fast as well and I have to agree. I used to have the difficulty reflect on the current score, but then ditched that idea, because it felt too punishing. Unfortunately I implemented the current difficulty system too late and didn't playtest it enough, so it is what it is. I think the cage is alright and it's supposed to require a lot of accuracy, because it gives you 10 points whereas blocking rocks gives only 1. I guess I could make it bigger and have it give fewer points, but I think that would take away from the satisfaction, because bumping the rocks in the cage would become much more frequent.
The artstyle is very cool, I like how the scissors change and the sound they make when they break (even though it's sad). Getting a rock into a basket is quite hard (maybe making bigger basket would help?), I managed to send there one rock and only because the rock stick a bit longer to the paper XD
@verttixpertti I see what you mean. This said I think that if it's too hard, players won't bother unless it's right underneath and you can slow down a rock and let it slide in, then wait for it to come back. While satisfiying indeed, I believe that being able to bumb multiple rocks in a row right into the cage accross the screen, maybe even with a combo system, would be even better and kind of addicting.
In any case it's an interesting mechanic with good potential.
@yorsh Yeah good points. If I happen to develop the game further, I'll make sure to look into making the cage bigger.
The production quality of the game is very good, especially within 48h. The gameplay is easy to understand and the control is very intuitive. Well done!
You can definitely develop this game and turn it into a casual mobile title.
Simple yet fun! The art and audio gets the job done, some background music would have been nice but other than that a great entry!
Quite fun indeed and unlike anything I've seen so far. I love how the cage makes you play less cautiously. A pity that you don't get points for throwing the stones out of the screen with powerful swings.
@maniulo haha thanks for playing
Intresting game, I have seen this mechanic befour, but I haven't seen it with the cage under that I think it adds a lot of value. Good job!
Hi, this is such a neat well done thing! I like the aesthetic, enjoyed watching the rocks blow away in incredible speeds after slapping them. Really nice addition with the cage, cool idea! I got 087, gotta train more. Thanks !
The addition of the cage makes this a really cool game! Great job!
