Good work, I liked it a lot. Maybe a bit of music, but good job otherwise!

Good work, I liked it a lot. Maybe a bit of music, but good job otherwise!
Good concept, it feels like a scene out of a Tommy Wiseau movie, oh hi Mark... or Ben, man I can't remember. Was a bit confusing with the talking, face's would have made it pop more. Is there an ending? I got my phone, but couldn't get past it?
Good game, probably a bit too fast on the shrinking but a nice entry.
Nice game! Apart from than the graphics and wall glitching it was a nice play.
This was awesome, loved the music and visuals! Keep it up.
Other than the bouncing ball sound, and running off the edge of the screen with the paddle it was a lot of fun. Music and aesthetic were nice.
Nice take on the theme and a good puzzle game. Sound and graphics fit together nicely. You could make this into a typing-teacher with a timer and some tweaks, good entry. As you've heard, I think some more explanation on the icons/mechanics would be nice. Thanks for your feedback on my game, and good luck :)
Simple but effective, was a very enjoyable puzzle game. Music was a bit loud, but it went well with the game.
Good work, loved the particle effects. Music and graphics could obviously be improved, but the main goal is to get something finished.
Great game, lots of fun.
Great game, art and mood.
Any Windows/Web player?
Nice game, fun arrow times. Other than it ramping up too quickly I found it good to play.
Nice game, good sound and music too.
Love the use of the theme, nice game with great graphics. Wish there were some sound effects/music but still a great entry.
Risky click award goes to @alisiena Nice job otherwise :)
@doublebiceps haha, I made them all in about 20 minutes. Good old Audacity and gaming headset!
@tontonpizza Thanks for the suggestion, it was a toss up between that and my current implementation.
@rkuhl and @korso Thanks for the comments. Those were definitely on the TODO list, had to cut my time down due to work so didn't get to implement :(
@guilhermoni Cheers!
@torcado Thanks for the feedback, didn't get to have a tonne of play-testing but knew there would be a fair few bugs etc. Always a case of "If only I had X more hours!"
@squirmonkey Thanks, my ideas were lofty but I'm definitely going to polish it up and chuck that on the list.
@jackyjjc Cheers, yeah I noticed that bug pretty close to when I had to submit. Was due to me using some really hacky code to get things to work in a time efficient manner, I tried to squash it with some if(x != null) but didn't get them all I see. Cheers for the comments, was terrified I wouldn't get anything done in time. I'm happy to get it out there, but oh man, makes me feel bad when I know it's not 100% perfect.
@tetra @tudvari @mike-inprinciple @eric-kulbiej @ravenflame @mrjorts @ghen
Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate everyones comments on my entry, and have taken them on board for next time. I'll get around to playing all of your games and rating this weekend. [I've also created a Post-Mortem if you're interested](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/ld42-42-pillars-of-stone-aka-negative-1-the-game-ld-etc/post-mortem-42-pillars-of-stone)
@oadt Thanks for the review, I was thinking to have it on by default but didn't want to burst peoples ear-drums. Probably could have set it to a low volume to start. Hitboxes should have been reduced, didn't really think about that to be honest. Yeah, only 38hr jam :(
Art and Sounds were good. Controls took a bit to get used to. Good work.
Tetris trucks, love it. Really addictive, and great use of the theme. The music and sound effects remind me of the old Bullfrog Theme games.
Wow, really nice! Art, music work so well with the mood and theme.
Good game, probably sick of hearing it... but the popup boxes :p
Art and music are nice. I think rotation of the ship should have been done as a AD +- rotation and WS as +- velocity, they were fairly clunky and hard to get used to.
Man, I love the art, great job for your first entry! The game runs smoothly, but is a bit confusing until you remember everything. Keep it up, hope to see you next jam
Haha, amazing start. Unfortunately I can't really play it too well due to the controls :( looks really fun though.
Solid game!
Nice game overall. I liked the art and music. The gameplay was alright, but Santa seemed to teleport to the sleigh. It would have been nice to know when to return presents to the sleigh and it was a little too easy (I didn't have to sacrifice any elves).
I loved the use of the theme, and the game was a neat platformer. I liked how you made the snowman cumbersome to control (Even though it made me angry on a few occasions).
Very nice game, I loved the first act the most. The characters and music were top-notch!
I was lurking your twitch channel for pretty much the entire jam; I love your art and the music you play is my jam.
The gameplay is smooth, art crisp and the audio is awesome.
I wasn't sure what the end game was, and I tried a few times to get through but hit into seemingly random bugs which destroyed the fun for me. I did load it up a few times, but after the third crash, ~20m each play, in I had to call it quits.
I'll come back and take a look if I can play it all the way through, I was looking forward to playing this game all jam.
@frankiesmileshow I was picking a cultist up from the pew each time, here's a screenshot with the error message:
Capture.PNG
@frankiesmileshow Thanks Frankie, I'll check it out when I get home from work today.
Nice! Love the graphics and love me a good puzzle head-scratcher, love it.
Great job! I love the ~~lemmings~~ astronauts and their voices, the artwork is nice and great use of the theme.
I liked it, the art was nice and I liked the platform style. There was a bug that I got when wall jumping where it wouldn't reset to the 'grounded' state sometimes. Good job, I would love to see a more fleshed out version.
I love the aesthetic, everything fits together really well and the gameplay is tight. The concept and execution were spot on, this would make a nice puzzler with a bit more polish. Keep it up!
Really fun game, loved the art style and the gameplay was really tight! You captured the theme really well, and the music was great. I think a check-point system would have been nice instead of having to restart when you die. I also noticed some update jitters on boxes and players, not that it makes the game unplayable.
This game is essentially Ludum Dare. Love the art and game, there was some off-centre phone text (Pick-up / ignore) but was nice and smooth other than that.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, I love how you captured the essence of LD in game form (And I'm now disowned by my family).
Pretty nice, it needs some polish for sure, but not too bad. I got really annoyed with the sounds :p
That was an experience! Very enjoyable; good work on creating something that was more of an artistic project.
Nice game that runs smoothly, congrats! I liked the cockpit-style aiming, and think you could probably polish this into some sort of space shooter if you wanted. It would have been nice with a standalone exe to run full-screen, the web player seems a bit restrictive.
@marcellus Thanks, and grats ;)
@digitallimestone Thanks, yeah there were a few things I wanted to polish but ran out of time. Sorry about the audio, it was placeholder but ran out of time to make anything else (I ended up taking my headphones off during the jam) :(
@tomdeal Thanks, I feel your disappointments are what I wasn't happy with too. I wanted to clean up the play area and music as well as add some sound effects but didn't get around to it.
I probably spent way too much time on Object Pooling and parallax, but haven't used them before so wanted to make sure they were solid.
@marc-grabow Thanks, I might polish it and add all the goodies I didn't get time to "in-jam" at some point. Watch this space. The font is 'Exocet - Medium', I just googled it and grabbed whatever royalty free one I could ;-).
@shiqichuan Cheers! The boundaries were a bit of a let down for me, I had plans for a fog/mist effect to define it but I left it a bit late and had to cut it.
@josh-bothun Thanks mate, it was one of the values I meant to change before uploading but woke up like an hour before submission hour and needed to bum-rush some code to make it playable. Thanks again, and I'll check your game out shortly :)
@myfriendtames Thanks for playing and the compliments :)
@slizzben Cheers, I loved making him that's for sure... probably could have spent all the jam creating and animating :p
@danny-sun Thanks for the compliment :)
Nice game, I love the physics and the ant art.
Nice game, liked the music and sprites. I found myself clicking cards when I didn't want to as they took up a lot of the screen, but overall a great entry for your first LD.
The music and art go really well with the gameplay. It was a bit repetitive, and I think some sort of strategy element would have added a lot of replayability. Really polished entry though.
Amazing little game, I love the art. The game is really good, level design is top notch. It would have been nice for an explanation on what was happening in-game, but wasn't too bad just figuring it out.
I noticed pixel tearing/gaps between your art tiles:
Tear.PNG
I had this issue too, and found an easy way to fix it is to have a 1 pixel border around your tiles (i.e. 64x64 = 66x66) in whatever program you have and just extend your tile by 1 pixel. When cutting the sprites in Unity just go to whatever your sprite size is meant to be and it will behave properly. Example.PNG
Sorry if you knew this already and it's another issue, I was so annoyed with it until I figured it out when I was messing about with sprite sheets.
This is so much fun! Awesome work on the art and game!
@arc1llusion AZERTY rather than QWERTY keyboard layout, I assume a French keyboard layout.
As for the game, the concept is good but as stated earlier it's more about just running the same path multiple times until you get to the end. With a bit more polish and level design you could turn it into a nice puzzle game.
Nice game, card sac game was my first idea for this theme. I love the art, simple but effective! Some sound and music would have made this game really pop, good job otherwise.
Love the rhythm games, this one did not disappoint. The art, music and gameplay was awesome, the theme was a bit of a stretch but still very solid.
I liked the game, the graphics and commentary were awesome. Had a lot of fun trying to figure out where to place everything.
I liked it, the music was nice and would make a decent game if expanded upon.
Congrats on getting something out with Godot! Solid controls and graphics, the juice is there with the screen-shake and particle explosions. Some music would have added to the atmosphere, but the sound effects were good. The background was a bit too static, but wasn't horrible to look at.
There might be a scaling issue, I played at home and work. At work it loads onto my main display which is 1680*1050 and it cut off the bottom to where I couldn't see the shields or gold.
As above, the ending probably needs you to press a different button, or a timer, to actually see when you die.
I think an indicator on how many hits the shields and gold have left would have enhanced the experience (Shields were OK as they diminished, but gold I had no idea).
All in all, a solid entry that requires minimal polish!
Amazing entry, congrats on the game! Really fun to play, the music and SFX were great and the art was awesome. The intro movie was fun to watch and added a lot to the game.
I think the controls could have been a little bit tighter as I felt like I was floating around a bit too much and the dash was a bit hard to control to get health. Still great fun to play!
Love the music and the animations were great! It felt very "prototype", but that's not a bad thing. The controls were smooth, and the gameplay was good. With a bit more time I'm sure you could have made this look good and hope you release a post-jam version!
Great job, I enjoyed the dialogue and art. The mouseover sounds were a bit annoying and some music would have been nice, but overall a good entry!
Everything is a bit unbalanced, but still a bit of fun to shoot raiders and the art is nice. Music and sound would have been nice. Would love to see this if you end up polishing it.
Nice game! The music got a bit on my nerves, but other than that it was good!
Great little game! Some music would have been nice, but was still good either way. Very addictive, keep it up!
First, the art and music is amazing! The game is very funny and original. The mini-games themselves were a bit easy, and I didn't really see a point to the cat-stats (You could just hold mouse on cat-litter to get max score / foot scratch was similarly easy to beat). Game explanations and score screen would have added a nice touch, but weren't sorely missed.
The intro video was amazing, added a lot of context and made the game stand out from a lot of others. Great entry! Hope to see you next time!
@fanu yeah, just checked it out. Looks like the 1 agi cats are gimped. With a bit more time I'm sure it will be even better than it currently is :)
Very creepy, I love it! Everything works really well together. I think the only thing that could be improved is a bit more of a dog warning.
Awesome little game, I liked the story.... but what was up with that kid, just went hog-wild running off and dying everywhere.
#### Reviewing Jam version Really innovative take on the theme, I love it! I think everything worked really well together, the SFX and Music were highlights for me though. I can see a lot of work, sweat and ~~veggies~~ blood went into this, and it shows!
I have seen that the post-jam version, so won't comment on things that have been resolved.
- Movement feels a bit clunky, it's not horrible I just think it could be a tad tighter. - Combat still feels a little bit wonky, and there doesn't seem to be any weight when attacking the filthy veggies (Maybe have some detritus flying off when you hit?). - A prompt to sleep for the night, walking into the tent was OK but I feel like it could be improved
It wasn't a chore to play the game at all, just things I think would make it pop more than it does. Great job! Thanks for playing my game on stream and the feedback provided!
Other than the corners being sticky it was a nice game. I think there needs to be a penalty for being last, as I was able to sit in one spot and snipe people driving past. While fun, it sort of makes the game a bit cheesey :D
Loved playing it. The art and sound is really good! Reminded me a lot of the Might and Magic games.
I died the minute it loaded, tried clicking the buttons but died, couldn't move or anything.
Nice entry, amazing for an 11 year old! As @david-markham stated, there are a couple of bugs but you're definitely going in the right direction. Hope to see you in the next Ludum Dare and keep on making games.
Played this game for ages, me and my work mate were trying to get to 1000 coins but found it incredibly hard. Is there any way to finish with 100%? The food timer seems to tick down very rapidly after a few clicks and could only get to about 500 coins.
@sode Thanks I completed it! Hope to see you next jam!
This was a good game, with a bit more polish and a tutorial it'd make a nice anti-plague inc. style game. I think adding the full map to view, and maybe a different graphic for countries that have events would make the game a bit easier to navigate.
Awesome game, love the art and music the most!
Nice game, I loved flying around way too much! I liked the sound effects! If there was some music it would be a nice relaxing game, otherwise a win condition would be good to implement. A nice game framework that could be something nice with a little bit more work.
Quite nice, some sound effects and music would have done wonders for the game. The art is good, but is a bit jarring with the blur and random particle colours. I loved the tilting, was a great feature. I'm not American, but anything that points out the shit show that is their healthcare system gets an upvote from me! A great entry with lots of promise!
Nice! A good entry. I liked the art, I would have just animated the sprites to give them some life. The music, I fell into the same trap last LD and left placeholder music in... Won't make that mistake again :p You could just bypass the negative effects, which should be fairly easy to resolve and would make the game feel a bit more complete. With a bit more polish you could make the game shine, keep it up!
Nice game!
Haha! What a fun game! Loved the art and sound effects, it was a bit a bit hard seeing the colour change but nothing too terrible. Great entry.
@heyitsleo @moonlens @jk5000 @gimblll @b3agz @zactical @fanmanpro @johan-vischer
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@paul59 haha, I was going to claim it as my catch-phrase "Oh man, you're so sausage...". Thanks for playing and the feedback.
@memel06 Thanks for the feedback and the play. I ran into some PC issues on the first day which means my original idea got scrapped, just wanted to get something clean out the door :)
@grllle Nice score! Yeah, if you get some good bacon spawns you can get up there, that's for sure. My max is around 500, didn't get too much time to play it unfortunately.
@timbs @fm-studio @borys @jka @danidev @joemanaco @youpeoples
Thanks for playing and your feedback! I probably should have tweaked the start to get to the action quicker.
@sode Thanks for playing, what was the glitch that allowed you to get infinite score? I think there may be issues with the floats and player inputs for movement and the player gets out of alignment with the stage, but made some hacky tweaks and couldn't replicate. I also can't replicate the information screen, did that happen before or after the glitch?
@barrier Thanks for playing and the feedback, really sorry about that! I had instructions that I deleted to unpause (Space to unpause) but replaced it last minute on like 3hrs of sleep and forgot to re-add it back in.
@cnatalo Thanks for playing. That is an awesome idea, I didn't even think about that! Will probably have a tinker to get that implemented.
@tommyflower Thanks for playing! Yeah, the background was a bit rushed. I wanted to get make it look a bit better, but ran out of time :(. Thanks for the kind words!
@hechi Thanks for the feedback! There was so much I wish I could have gotten done!
@lillybyte Thanks for the feedback! UI scaling is something I hate doing (Build, upload, check, rinse, repeat) but yeah, will be looking into that... in the meantime, I've just removed the option to fullscreen :p The tears would be amazing, thanks for the tip!
@artyom-volkov Thanks for the feedback "Right On!"
@phobos001 Haha, yeah I was going to do wings but thought the hat was a bit more ~~Easier to animate~~ funny. Thanks for playing and your feedback!
@honest-dan The pleasure was mine. Thanks for playing and the tip, I think that's a good idea. I'll probably work on it a bit more and release a post-jam incarnation with all the tips and feedback. @quorusa Thanks for playing, yeah I will need to tweak the difficulty a bit as it has been a common theme in the comments. Thanks for the kind words and feedback!
@hypp Thanks for playing and the feedback! @abraxas-interactive Haha, I'd be dead within the day if I could eat myself. Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to play it at length!
@ninjacatz Oink, Thank you! Thanks for playing!
@lesinvisible I'm sorry that it did not appeal to you. Thank you for playing and leaving feedback nonetheless.
@mashupgames Thanks! Yeah, even though it ramps up the difficulty evenly I can feel the jump. Congrats on level 12! @gregoire Thanks, congrats on level 15 hardmode! Cheers for playing and the feedback!
@cheesepencil Thanks! Cheers for playing and the compliment!
@rsim Thanks for playing and the feedback. I couldn't replicate the issue, it's a random spawn rate for bacon (~1/30). I'll continue looking to see if I can find it. @candlesan Thanks for playing and the feedback, congrats on the score! @beastiebeastie Thanks for playing! Yeah, I would have liked to add some other obstacles / powerups etc. but time was definitely the biggest factor this LD. Appreciate the feedback :) @quadape Thanks for playing and the compliment, I was pretty self conscious about my voice for sure. @coatline Thanks for playing, bacon makes everything better!
@ropedog thanks for the feedback and playing!
@datagreed Thanks for playing! I agree, I would have liked to increase the difficulty a bit differently than I had implemented.
Awesome game, I love the graphics and sounds AAAAAAAGH!!!! Those banana's though: Banana.PNG
Hilarious! I think highlighting which gun is selected, and maybe allowing 1-4 to be used to choose them would be good.
You can also buy upgrades that make you die as the game starts :(
Really nice, could have done with some sound effects but I played it for a while anyway :p
Other than the intro being long this is a very solid entry. Everything went together really well, good work!
Awesome game! The art and music were amazing. The game was also very good, good job on the level design! I think adding a checkpoint system and being able to speed up the dialogue would be a good addition. Overall a very nice submission, and I'm glad I got to play it!
Good game, quite difficult but good once you know what you're doing. That damn casino though!
Great entry, was fun to pretend to be mad max! A bit of music would have added to the atmosphere. The difficulty didn't really ramp up too much, and I could have just cruised at starting speed for the rest of my life :p The graphics were good. I think this would be a lot of fun with a bit more polish!
Nice game! I like the use of the theme and top-down shooters are one of my favourites. Graphics were great, music was nice but a volume slider would have been good. I think the bullets and movement were a little bit slow, but not terrible. The oxygen shop was a bit unbalanced, but that's understandable in a jam.
With a bit of polish this would be a great little game.
Really addictive, wish there were more levels! Everything was nice in the game!
Awesome! Everything was smooth gameplay wise, very nice theme incorporation, sounds and art were very nice! Some music would have made this really shine. Keep it up, it was a fun play!
Oh man, at least I know I won't be forging any notes anytime soon. Very original concept, and really well done!
Great little game, I love the gameplay and concept! The art is amazing. Some music and sound effects would have gone a long way, but time is always an issue. I found the game was easy, and then ramped to silly hard when I got goblins. As stated above, it would be nice to be doing something during the rounds. Keep it up! P.S. You can edit your game description to change the link for source / .zip
Haha! You crushed the sound effects, great job! Other than the flat black background the art and character animation is great. A bit of music would have been good to bounce along with. Nails the theme of collecting really nice cats! (Probably not the LD one, but boo to that!).
I had way too much fun playing cat basketball, keep it up and hope to see you next time.
That is some good art! Love the sound effects, fits the theme, just a solid entry all around!
Amazing is the only word to describe this masterpiece!
Not bad, as above, the shop seems like a bit of a waste but good implementation.
You do realise you need to get rated by other LD entrants? Leaving feedback that is quite rude and not constructive in any sense is not helpful and makes you come across as a troll. Your game is not the pièce de résistance of Ludum Dare, so don't act like it is. I found the music to be very nice, and added to the mood of the game. The writing is going in the right direction, there are spelling errors and seems a bit forced in some areas but generally is alright. I'm not a fan of novel type games, but got through this one OK as it isn't too long. I didn't enjoy the fact that the entirety of the game was random, and the choices didn't really seem to matter as it was an RNG fest where you could die turn 2 in some cases. As more of a novel it is OK, the randomness takes away from the story and really doesn't add too much (Especially with no input from the user). I didn't see any use of the theme. The graphics were nice and made me feel like I was on an old computer playing the game.
The art is great and I loved the gameplay. The take on the theme is good relevant! I would have liked a volume slider, but that's because I play with headphones :p
Nice game, that sneeze gets real annoying real quick though.
Super hard, but what an amazing game! The instructions at the start were great, the gameplay was smooth, and the art fit the mood. I hope you do some more work on this, it is release worthy for sure!
Nice, very difficult but lots of fun. Good work on putting in the upgrades etc. at the start. The secret ending was probably the best cinematic marvel ever! :p.
I liked this a lot, some music and sound effects would have really given the game some weight! Keep it up!
Haha! Good job on the game, it nails the theme perfectly! It was a bit confusing as to know what to do, but once figured out it was OK. The art and sound effects were great, I liked the yellow haired patient with the US flag on his jacket :p. I can't speak French so the shop was a bit confusing, but I was able to figure it out in the end. Very good entry, and with a bit more polish it would be a fun organ harvesting simulator!
Nice and easy, but I think HTML was a bad choice for a FPS
Nice game, I didn't get to Diablo but I will keep on trying!
Holy crap! Amazing.... LONG LIVE VICTOR SPUMANTE!! That music!
Nice game, I feel for Ann and Boul with the way the world is at the moment #JuniorIsOK Art was nice, a little bit of music would have added to the play through. The AI felt a bit overpowered, but there were enough HP drops to not worry too much.
Very good entry, good luck with your results.
Wow, this is original and awesome! Love the concept and the music is fantastic to capture the mood.
It would have been nice to see how the rewind would play out before having to use it, but wasn't terrible without it.
Would love to see this worked on more, let me know if you get around to expanding it further.
Art is simple yet effective, music added a nice ambience. The controls were a bit hard to get used to, but nothing terrible.
It became quite challenging to keep the garden alive, but great for a few minutes and game jam entry.
I think adding a few mechanics and cleaning up the controls slightly would yield a good little game! Good luck with your results!
Lovely game! character is amazing, and it's super peaceful growing a tree.
Great concept, wish there was more to it. If you do continue with this I'd like to see the results!
Great job, especially since done with your kids. Game is fun, a few of "You Bas***d" signs make it more interesting. It could be polished, and the amount of apples sort of detracts from the food mechanic, but still a great entry!
The art is amazing, the game is really fun too! A few more levels would have been nice, but understand the restrictions of LD. A great entry, good luck with your results!
*Played the Jam version* Great little game, art was well done. Great mechanics in the game. Some background music would have been nice as it felt a little bit flat without it, and I think the difficulty ramped just a little too quickly. Other than that, great entry and good luck with your results
Awesome! Would love to see this expanded, was hilarious shooing away the nosy Nigels coming in to tell me how to rhythm-uscitate .
Great job, I enjoy these types of game and would love to see it expanded! With a bit more work this would be a great little game.
Great game, the controls and physics felt really good. A bit of music would have gone a long way, but the core game is great.
I felt the spike ball getting destroyed when touching a brazier was a bit punishing for a missed throw :(
@willjardine @gagouman Thanks for the feedback and playing!
@joe-cowman Thanks for the advice and playing! I got in a bit over my head on this jam, realised I didn't have enough time to flesh out a lot of the mechanics so had to ship it with some things I wish I'd done more with. @niborious Thanks for playing. I hear you on those points, ran out of time so had to just get it published without attempting to make the UX a bit better.
@balgorode Haha, thanks for playing. It was definitely lacking in the gameplay area, it ended up being more of a learning how to code a turn-based system than a game in the end. I wanted to add a lot more, but ran out of time. @lucidus Thanks for playing and the kind words.
@cheesepencil Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I didn't get to playtest it at all :( The only way to get stronger is to gain levels and increase power, which is very random. Health is a +10 in some level ups, should have replenished though and returning items gets you +3 hp. Really would have liked to be able to give it more playtesting time though.
Haha, So good! loved the sound effects. Game was less of a game and more of an LD Jam Participant simulator, I dig it though, great effort! Some background music would have made it a bit more enjoyable, and making the alignments have an effect would have brought the game to the next level I think.
Fun game, I found it quite relaxing! Nice simple concept that paid off, art is great and the music fits really well. Great job!
hilarious! Great job!
Controls were a bit crazy, sound effects and graphics were nice. With a bit of polish on the controls this would be a fun little arena shooter.
Simple yet fun! The art and audio gets the job done, some background music would have been nice but other than that a great entry!
Grats on your first game jam. The sounds are hilarious, I love them little sheep! Game is hard (KEEP IT ALIVE), but addictive. Amazing effort, good luck with the results.
Nice little game, would be good on one of those 100-games-in-1 handhelds I think. Very retro, and great art. I think some more expansion on the gameplay mechanic may have added an extra layer to it (Fire spreads out of control or something?), but still a solid little time waster. As others have said, visual prompts would have saved me a few restarts.
Love it, the visuals and audio really set it apart from the rest. Great entry and good luck, I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Nice game, was wondering if it would ever end but made it to the ice-cave! The grin and glasses on the sun made me want to punch it more than I care to admit... The sun didn't really pose a challenge, but was good to have an annoyance factor. Some more challenging platforming would have been a great inclusion as the controls seemed nice and tight. Great effort and good luck!
Fun game, awesome visuals and music. Was a bit confused at first, but took the time to look at the tutorial and then I was crushing it! Great entry and good luck!
Awesome game! I agree with the above posters that some music would have added to the mood a lot. Enjoyed the grappling, and would totally play a time-trial version of this! Art is pleasant and geometry was fun to navigate.
Haha, nice little game. I found some of the fish hitboxes to be a bit small/random, but enjoyed the entire premise of the game. Are and music was minimal but nice, easy to listen to and look at. Great job, good luck!
@poopgames @mdnr Thanks for playing and the feedback, I agree with you on getting the +/- . During inital testing I found it too easy, and think I overcorrected.
@maxr00 Thanks for playing and the feedback, yeah it was quite hard to balance it from being too easy vs too hard. @tengusheath Thanks, yeah I made the last 2 a bit easier to compensate for the annoyance of the first. I agree with the hitbox/view distance.
@gonzo13 haha, the chicken was my favourite for sure! I could have spent the entire Jam doing that alone. Thanks for playing and the feedback.
@roblaro Thanks for playing and feedback, hopefully it wasn't too hard. @ian-kettlewell Thanks for playing and the compliments, the chicken is by far my favourite. Would have loved to spend more time on fleshing out the platformer part.
@bentglasstube @machwerx Thanks for the feedback and playing. @dandala88 Thanks for playing. I ran into that issue as well with the platforms, it had something to do with de-childing the player object before the platform disappears. I wasn't able to debug it and just had to submit. Thanks for the feedback and compliments, I had a plan and wanted to try and stick to it even if the polish wasn't as good as focusing on one game.
@maychant I think I fixed the slipping bug, hastily tested but think it's gone now. It didn't have a happiness increase mechanic unfortunately, I wanted to do something along the lines of collecting but had to scrap the idea as I'd spread myself too thin. Thanks for playing and the feedback. @zwodahs Thanks for playing and the feedback! I've not heard of ice climber before but will have to check it out. There's no pattern, it was a bug for slipping which I think I may have resolved now. Thanks again. Forgot that we were allowed to fix bugs after submission, I feel a bit foolish now.
@mtbvibe Thanks for playing and the feedback.
@cyzaine I agree with your feedback, there was a lot of stuff that had to get cut to get something entered. A consistent character and polishing of core-mechanics in all levels were the major ones that suffered. Thanks for playing and your honest feedback. @hulien22 Thanks for the feedback and playing, I think you're right. I think I spread myself a bit too thin so couldn't really polish/test too much and feel like it could have been a bit better in some areas.
@guilloteam Thanks for the feedback and playing! Haha, I agree, the second level was my attempt at making something a bit harder but ended up either being too easy or too hard. I settled on what I thought was the mid-way, but couldn't give it any more polish due to time.
@jzucc12 Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@proxy-games Thanks for playing and the feedback. Yeah, the final level was meant to be a beat matching geometry dash style but didn't have enough time to flesh it out.
@mhorth Thanks for playing and the feedback, I agree with you on the platforms for sure too. Wish there were more hours in the compo to get everything perfect haha!
Loved the entry, the gameplay itself wasn't challenging but I found myself engaged with the story and had to finish it to find out what happens to our floof! Great entry and good luck.
Nice puzzle game that captures the theme well. A reset button would have been nice as suggested. Art is clean and well done. I think some BG music would have been nice to add a lot more character and make the replays a little less monotonous. Simple, but solid and could be extended upon if you wanted. Great work and good luck!
Nice TD, enjoyed it a lot. I think a few more levels and some effects on the wizard attacks would have added a lot to the game. Great work and good luck!
Awesome concept, the art is the best I've seen in any LD so far! The music is great too. The game itself was fun to play, but became easy quite early. Still fun but got to ~30m without much issue. I know the feeling of wanting another 48-72hrs to make it shine, and feel like this could have been even better with some more playtesting and polish. I did notice a couple of bugs: - Text wrapping on unit numbers, spreads across 2 lines - Bario fight UI element got out of whack for me, I assume it's Unity being a pain with how it positions them: Bario.png Great effort and would love to see a post jam version.
Effects are great, and music suits the art style well. I found it a bit repetitive, but not boring. As stated above, another mechanic / different levels would have made the game shine a lot more. Great effort and good luck.
Such a great entry! Loved the theme take and original gameplay. The art was top notch, and I enjoyed having to run away from some HR Giger-like monster. The icons that pop up were able to be selected as they were spawning, so could click all of them before they became large. Not sure if that's intended, but made it a lot easier to get past the blocks. Not too much I can say other than great effort and execution, got fourth on the LB!
This was addictive, but not incredibly challenging and just required spam swiping the top of the screen. Other than that, everything was polished and awesome! Music and visuals were great, the line renderer was nice and added a lot to the feel of the menu/gameplay. Well polished, and with some more difficult gameplay could be amazing. Great effort and good luck! N.B. I played Jam version, not post jam.
Dialogue, music and art are top notch. The gameplay is good, but the controller could maybe be tighter as it feels a bit floaty but doesn't detract too much from the experience. Great entry and good luck!
Great entry, I love these multi-depth games. As others have said, a way to speed up text would have been great. Love the use of dialogue system, and I had something similar to this in mind for my entry but went a different direction. I'm glad I got to play something like this! Great entry and good luck!
Love the music and art style. Found it to be quite unique and enjoyable. Great effort and good luck! I ran into a couple of issues: - When restarting, the web build lags terribly. - I think the screenshake is moving the camera/scene to the side without re-adjusting: Mini.JPG
Great take on the theme, the gameplay is unique and engaging. With some more polish I could see myself spending a lot of time on this one! Great work.
Such a good game, good job team. I think reducing the rotation on the ship would make it feel a little less twitchy on the controls, but just takes a bit of getting used to. The upgrades/deployables are a nice addition that adds to the experience. I think the cargo is hard to keep alive, not impossible but doesn't take much for it to get destroyed if you're trying to drift through the game. Really solid entry, good luck with the ratings!
Nice! I feel like it maybe needs a bit more of an explanation on what to do, ideally a tutorial in a non-jam setting. Art and music is really good, and the gameplay is good once you understand the concept. Great entry.
eeee.... eeeeee... aaaaaahhhh.... oooo.... aaaaaa.... ahhhh.... eh... eh.. eee... oooooo... *SMOKERS GARGLE* ..... oooohhh... Yes, it was that good.
Everything looks so polished for a jam game, the art and music are so good. The game itself is fun and challenging, but agree with others that gliding doesn't really seem to have an impact. I think extending the game controls to use either mouse, keyboard or game controller would be nice for us lazy types.
@naganen Thanks for playing and the feedback, I added a 'cheat' function to the game to allow increasing enemy gold payout based on your review. @rolferm Thanks for playing! Yeah, goldy is underrated but definitely my favourite.
@quanta-studios Thanks for playing and the feedback! @cabjhegas Yeah, I wasn't sure how it'd turn out and the balancing was non-existant. My aim was trying to make it so the cat was the best end-game. I think anything is viable with enough gold though... :turtle: is my favourite. Thanks for playing!
@cheesepencil @pixelverse Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@wiredoverload Thanks for playing and the feedback. Yeah, it was one of those things where I realised half way through it was going to be a struggle but kept pushing. It honestly came together into a game in like the last 3hrs. @pralista `One does not simply tower into defends!` :D Thanks for playing!
@yumykon Thanks for the kind words, I am doing a lot better now! I completely forgot to add buttons for speeding up/down, the logic is there but it completely slipped my mind when finishing it up! I'll add it into a post-jam version. Thanks for playing and the feedback.
@vilius Thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree, the balancing was pretty shonky with anything but damage. @smoky01 Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@cabritta Thanks for playing and the feedback! @felin Yeah, I agree. It was on my TODO list, but ran out of time. Thanks for playing and the feedback, appreciate it!
@yuriscat Thanks for your feedback and playing. Yes, I'm much better now, thanks again! @ravernt Thanks for playing! @reed-molbak Thanks for playing and the feedback. I did see that issue occur in earlier builds, but haven't been able to replicate it after applying a fix :sob: debug.png @quinn-patrick Thanks for playing and the feedback! I think I expected to be able to get a lot more done than I did, I'm happy with what I got done, but just wish I had more time to get everything even more polished  @olddog Thanks for playing and the feedback! I agree, I definitely want to tweak some of the values around as I feel some are too cheap and others are prohibitively expensive.
@ominusgalaxy44 thanks for playing and the feedback. I'll have to see if I can replicate that bug, thanks for pointing it out!
@mnemosynevl Thanks for playing and the feedback! That is a weird bug, I'll have to check that out today. Thanks for letting me know!
This was a nice game to play, and quite interesting take on the theme. The graphics were great and the music was good. I think a bit more feedback on damage and some passive mana regen would have really taken this to another level. Also, I have a new found hate for shotgun wielding goblins. Great job!
Honestly, I love this game and it's amazing to know you did all the voice acting. Once the controls are down the game reaches new heights, yeeeeeeeehaaaw! I think introducing a baby launch mode where you can see how far you can fling a baby would be an awesome addition XD. It gets a bit repetitive but other than that I can't really fault anything... Great job, and can't wait for number 3!
Nice game, pretty difficult but ramps good. Everything feels tight, and was good fun too!
Nice game, love that the theme is a little different than others. Graphics and music are great, good work. As has been stated, hit and death indication would have done a lot. All in all, a great little game.
I don't know what I played, but I love it!
A nice game, art was great especially the end level! well scoped and great entry! Good luck!
Loved it, the music and art was great for this game. Nice take on the theme. Was a lot of fun to play. I think adding hit indication would have been a good addition, but great well scoped game other than the minor nit. Great work!
Loved it, great little idle game! If you want to make it fit the UI on a webGL build you might need to play with the width/height canvas settings in index.html of the build as I had to (I notice you haven't changed it from 960x600), it did my head in trying to get mine just right: abd.png
What an awesome entry! The art and music are amazing. Gameplay is nice and tight, as well as having cutscenes. Great entry and good luck team!
Nice entry! I liked the controls, simple but effective. I fell through the floor a few times, not sure if you're using discrete or continuous collisions, but changing to continuous may help on the rigidbody. I think some others have given pointers too. Graphics and music were good. Great job!
I really enjoyed this, awesome that you introduced Conway's game of life into it. I think having a button that shows different patterns might be a good idea to make it easier to understand. I think it could be extended by making still life's a city that maybe spawns a random pattern every turn or something. I wasn't entirely sure how to unlock orcs or elves though. Great entry, I enjoyed it a lot!
@cabjhegas yeah, I think it's a very CS/Maths nerd thing, so won't be everyone's cup of tea. I think you should have the live cell become a city, but I'm a fan of sim-like games, maybe placing them and guns that shoot gliders would make it a lot more interactive for players though. Re: orcs and elves, ahh that explains it. Still good fun anyway :)
@cabjhegas I'm super interested to check out a post-jam version for sure!
Awesome game! The art and music is so good, great job. Gameplay is tight and easy to understand, I loved the pre-level cutscene! Great work team!
Awesome game, loved the mechanics and art style! I wasn't sure if the arrow was correctly indicating vector as sometimes I'd jump essentially horizontally on some that I thought were angled well, wasn't a huge deal but made me rage a few times XD. Really good entry, good luck!
Great entry. Some more levels would have added some more play, but overall a good experience.
Nice relaxing game, music and art were awesome. Loved the gameplay, but wasn't sure on what the goal was other than hoarding people and fish in my little boat like some sort of angry sea god. It ended up being difficult picking up the right rod when needed. Great entry team!
Nice game. I feel like a bit of sound during gameplay would have added a lot of dimension. Also I think the enemies are a bit too fast: del_surv.png
Easy to understand and controls work, even though a bit hard to get used to. Some more polish and this would be a great little mobile game. It would have been nice to restart with a keypress rather than menu > restart. Great job team!
Awesome little game! Love that it has a leaderboard. Controls felt a little bit wonky, but wasn't bad to play.
This is a great entry! Love that it's easy to get the hang of, and there is progression. Graphics and music are great. I love the slingshot mechanic, but got a bit frustrated with hardware mouse causing some dud shots. Not a bad thing, but required some getting used to. Good luck!
This is such a well done game! Congrats to the team. It's super polished, art and music are top knotch. The typing your feelings is pretty unique. I feel like it's more of a type whatever you can as fast as you can, maybe needs a bit more balance with negative cards.
All in all, a great entry and good luck.
Love the game, well polished and enjoyable to play. Music and art was simple yet effective. Will probably give this a lot of playtime when I get some free time, great job!
Great little game, popped in every now and then to the jam to see how it was going.
Art is great, and captures the aesthetic of a 198x arcade `shooterlike x resource management` game. I think the balancing is a bit off, but that's to be expected with the nature of LD. Music would have taken this even further I think. All in all a great entry, good luck.
Awesome! Really unique and fun gameplay, sound is great and everything seems quite polished. I think some particle effects would have juiced this up real good, but other than that a great entry. Good luck!
Difficult! I love the aesthetic, and the gameplay is tight. I found that it was hard to catch all meteors due to move speed, but was great to play otherwise! Great job.
The art and ambience is very well done! I enjoyed the game, but the puzzles seemed a bit unfair sometimes as I'd have no time to react before dying. Other than that was peaceful and enjoyable.
Great take on an old classic, love the all elements here. Everything was pretty straight forward to understand and readable. I'll echo other comments; I think some more enemies and upgrade paths would have been a great addition, as well as a bit of music.
Great entry, a lot of fun and very "QWOP" which I enjoyed. Lots of fun to play, a bit of music would have added to the atmosphere but I was invested either way as I enjoy these ragdoll-like games.
@jcmonkey @jellycopter Thanks for playing and the feedback!
@spacecadet thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree, I felt like the dialog was a bit jarring and I would have liked to have spaced it out a bit more.
@quoclon Thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree, I had bigger plans for the dialogue but ran out of time and the autofire was done as I thought during playing "people are going to get sick of clicking". As for the resolution, I think I released with 1080x720 so might be cutting off on resolutions around that range? To be honest, I always find it a crapshoot to get unity laid out correctly in webgl. @fizzbark @endurion Thanks for playing and the feedback, agree with your comments re: juice and maybe increase text speed/autofinish.
@squiggelsquirrel Thanks for playing and the suggestions, I agree with your thoughts on dialogue and waves of asteroids. @happyglitch Thanks for playing and your feedback.
@rasblo Thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree with your observations, definitely could have done with another day of polish and playtesting at least.
@tygrak Thanks for playing and the feedback. There wasn't much more to the game after it gets crazy, so nothing really missed. I feel like I needed to add some sort of screen clearing mechanic, but ran out of time.
@happyglitch Thanks for playing and the feedback. @beats Thanks for playing. I agree, it does get a bit crazy towards the end, I tried to make it so that there was an ending condition but needed a bit more polish I think.
Haha, nice entry! Loved the simplicity and interpretation of the theme. Good luck.
This was a fun game, super engaging and enjoyable. Great work! I think adding a following camera would be good as I coule go outside the bounds of the play area, and not see where I was on the ship, leading to some frustrating deaths.
This game captures the frustration of public transport perfectly! Loved the simplistic gameplay, I think having some more actions would have made it more challenging (frustrating XD).
great entry, found everything to be polished and loved the word game. I would have liked a bit of music during the game, but not a real deal breaker as the game was engaging without it. Great entry, and good luck!
Haha, awesome entry! Difficult, but fun to play! Good work.
Like the controls and difficulty of the game. I think some sound and music would have made the game a little bit more engaging.
Awesome entry! Everything was well done and was a great play, I loved that you had to manually move the aim rather than a 360 degree movement. Art was great, and the music was spot on. Good luck!
Great idea, love the concept and initial implementation. I think some music would have been good to keep engagement. With a bit of polish on the game controller, and QOL features such as instant restarts etc. this would be a great game.
Great game and use of the theme. Generally well polished, as is to be expected from you. The gameplay itself was quite fun, but think the final trial could have been a bit more difficult. I think a couple of visual changes to text would have been good (give outline etc.) as there were points where I was getting black text on black background. Always enjoy playing your entries though.
haha, that was fun! Loved the mechanics and was great bee-ing (pun intended) able to watch the bees explode. Would have loved some music, and a bit more polish but great work!
Very nice! Pretty difficult, but great fun. Loved the Inscryption vibes.
Art, music and story were great! Loved it, simple but effective. Great work!
loved this game! Everything done so well, great puzzle design and just generally fun to play!
@sirlich hey man, thanks for that. I have updated the link. The money was a joke, can just skip to go to download
@kepsert thanks, have updated the link
I wanted to get everything written up here before anyone played but was rushed for time.
RE: Mana, water blocks at the start give you some mana to play with, and then pyramids for mana. Sorry there wasn't more guidance earlier
@olddog Thanks for the feedback and playing the game! Would loved to have got more in, I feel like I might expand on the concept when I get some time. @telo-philippe Thanks for playing and the feedback! I agree, there was a lot that I wanted to get in there that just had to be cut QOL stuff would have been a great addition. Thanks again!
@velvetlobster Thanks for playing, yeah my webgl template has that turned off by default. Have re-added a fullscreen option, thanks for the suggestion. @courtneylapin Thanks for playing and the feedback, yeah I wish I had more time to polish everything including the resources. @litterattus Thanks for the suggestions, I agree with all of them and thanks for playing. @googlefrog Thanks for playing, yeah the main consensus is that people got softlocked a lot ingame and no real descriptions for how to get resources. I wish I had more time to playtest the game and tweak the values, but that is the nature of LDJam unfortunately :( @partkyle Thanks for playing and the feedback, yeah I was aiming to get some way to remove blocks and make it a bit less punishing to progress. @mrwarranty Thanks for playing and the feedback, the playtesting and difficulty was something I wish I had more time to refine. I also wish I could have gotten more detailed instructions into the game. @ry-kil thanks for playing and the feedback, yeah time flew this jam and I had essentially no time to make the player experience more streamlined and adjust the values to a less punishing amount. @radjax thanks for playing, yeah I feel like it almost came together but ran out of time to create something truly unique and fun to play :(
@exofrenon Thanks for the feedback and playing. Yeah, I think the belief was something I had in my head but didn't actually implement all that well (people generate it at a slow slow rate). Yeah, I noticed some weird placement bugs every now and then, but felt that it didn't really ruin the experience so just ignored them  @mitjmcc Thanks for playing and the feedback. 1. Yeah, I think that was something I wanted to look into but fell short on time (and subsequently forgot about until now). 2. Yep, I swear I had plans in my head on how it was going to work but just couldn't get it all in  Thanks again for playing!
Great job, I enjoyed playing this and it had an authentic retro feel to the sprites. I played both v1.1 and 2.0, and the music + sound effects really add a lot to the game making it a lot more fun to play. I feel like the difficulty was pretty bang on as well. I found the horizontal move was a bit laggy and didn't let me turn as fast as I wanted to. Nothing major, but I would work on that to have a snappier controller.
Really great job! Good luck.
Heaps of fun, I enjoyed playing this one a lot. Great work team! Music and art style was on point, gameplay felt pretty good. The camera was a bit wonky, but workable... that being said, inverted Y is the bane of my existence! I think a few QOL things like mouse-look rather than WSAD to face char, option to have inverted Y or not, and a bit of a tutorial at the start would have done wonders but understandable to not get it done in the time-frame. I had a heap of fun playing though, and loved the music and voice overs.
Loved the turn based aspect! Great art and gameplay. I think some more graphics for attacks would have added a lot to the game, really great entry though. I enjoyed it a lot!
Really polished and fun, incredible use of the theme and execution!
The dark souls of geometry.
awesome concept and well executed. The sfx and music were great little additions, and the general game mechanic was great. I enjoyed deleting myself XD I did find it pretty difficult, but was enjoyable anyway. I feel like a bit more polish could do wonders for this game (understand the struggle), but still a very solid entry.
This was a good bit of fun, great work. Loved the art style and music! Could have been a bit more challenging, but other than that a great entry!
Loved the mechanic. Art and music were spot on. Great job!
web version had some lag, but other than that worked fine. It's actually a playable version of the game ads! Art and humour were great, loved playing and finishing it. Wish there were some more levels!
Awesome game, loved the summoning. Was pretty difficult, but not completely unforgiving. In game tutorial would have been helpful, and some music would have made this pop! The art is great and the sound effects add to the experience! Good work!
Awesome game, was good fun. I thought the art, music and voice overs were a great touch that added to the overall feel of the game. I found the summons to be a bit random in their movements and actions, but other than that well done!
Whoa, that was fun! Love everything about it!
Love the music and art-style, but couldn't figure out what to do. I feel like there's a game there somewhere, but some guidance would have done wonders.
Nice work! Enjoyed the music, and gameplay was fun for a prototype. Pretty simple, but was great to see the hunter bushes trying to steal the tiny's so you give them a whack!
@robowarrior1982 Thanks for playing and the feedback (Saw you are French, so Merci Beaucoup!). Yeah, would loved to have spent a bit of time on balancing XD. There was an infinte ammo one I was testing with, I've added it in to the current build... Will have to see about the music!!!
