Exploding the spaceships was very satisfying. I got a high score! overall great game. congrats.
Fun game, the controls were interesting. It felt like blowing up tiles made things easier lol
Interesting game. Took me a minute to figure out what to do but it clicked quickly. Nice job!
I loved the fact that you can actually submit a high score, nice little addition. It would be fun to have some more modules on the ship to be able to make the gameplay a bit more interesting. Definitely looking forward to what next jam brings, good job!
Was very fun, I couldn't figure out if you can just buy replacement cannons or if you can buy additional cannons but overall still a fun game, made it to 58k but had a few issues with the meteor shower, it was hard to tell if the meteors are already low enough to move over them and as a result I lost a few tiles.
High score leaderboard is a neat addition, but I feel like that time could've gone into adding more variety into the game itself. You'll spend your time either waiting slightly offscreen for asteroids or spamming the cannon at the UFOs (though I do realize that dying to a UFO immediately offscreen is punishment for trying to be clever lol.) There's a good base though here at least, just wish there was more to do :)
Great game, and really cool take on the theme! I ended up dying when I exited the sheering while the ship was still moving, so I immediately fell off the edge haha. I enjoyed the gameplay, well done!
Highscore and Game is fun! Well done! This game would be awesome in multiplayer:) Also nice Audio
This game is so hard for me! It's a great take on the theme. A solid game with fun. One minor complaint might be the death effect is too long for me.
Interesting game. I like that it inevitably draws to a final conclusion and you have to protect what space you have for as long as possible. For me, the biggest issue was that there wasn't enough space between the ship and the edge of the screen, and I couldn't find a way to zoom out, so I felt like I didn't have enough time to react to threats. Smaller issue was that the limited number of directions the cannon could fire in made it difficult to target ufos sometime. I feel like this game would be great if you could move with wasd and target the cannon with the mouse, zooming in and out with the mouse wheel. Great use of theme, thanks for making it!
Good game! I like that you forced to run between steering computer and cannon and do different activities. A little bit questinable how pattern of falling rocks works in this space situation when i see trails, which probably defines that player flying very fast in right direction, but never mind, its just made a smile on my face :D. It is very cool that game has alternative patterns of danger. Controls pretty solid and responsible.
Whoop. Fell to my death.
It's neat how we can customize the ship, though I'm not sure what the point in having multiple steering stations or cannons is, especially when you can only aim one cannon at a time. That said, I love the angry faces on the UFOs.
I feel like the game could benefit from more explicit wave indicators - like, some kind of sign when you should expect to be focused on dodging asteroids and when you should be focused on shooting down UFOs. (Am I correct that you can't actually shoot down asteroids? Because it seemed that way to me.)
A very nice little game.
Feels pretty good to weave between asteroids and shoot the ufo down. Controls are slightly floaty, but it helps transfer the weight of the station.
I assumed the game whould get easier the smaller your station gets, but I would end up sliding off or hitting a falling meteor due to not being able to tell how high they are on the Z axis. I feel having more indicators would help your survival.
I can imagine more could be added, like custumizing and reinforcing the tiles, or expanding them, or some automated defenses, etc.
This was a fun game, super engaging and enjoyable. Great work! I think adding a following camera would be good as I coule go outside the bounds of the play area, and not see where I was on the ship, leading to some frustrating deaths.
This is a neat little game. It wasn't that hard to switch between shooting UFOs and dodging asteroids, and there's plenty of wiggle room for you to lose pieces of the station and still continue. I also like how, while you do get the occasional asteroid shower, you also get pauses in the obstacles every now and then to give you a little breathing space.
I found that the easiest way to dodge the asteroids is to move partially off-screen, but then you open yourself up to getting hit by things you can't see. As one of the other reviews said, a following camera would be nice.
There's plenty of scope here to expand this with extra obstacles and game mechanics. For now, though, good job!
Cool idea, I think there is lots of room for improvement in terms of game feel and juiciness. Everything in the game feels a bit, 'slow'. The controls are floaty, the movement of the ship is also quite floaty. Comets come slowly tumbling in, just like the spaceships. Spaceships this size remind me more of fast annoying things which have a minor damage output. They could circle your ship, sometimes shooting, but make them faster (and not B line so much).
The same really with the cannon, since you need to rotate using A/D in a non-linear perspective aiming is quite difficult. So one approach would be to add a laser or pointer and make the enemies faster in response.
At first I had some trouble figurine out that I had to _avoid_ the comets and not shoot them. This took me a while to find out what was going on. Also, you can maybe make collisions between falling comets and enemies also kill them (they now just bump it out of the way)
Overall you did a fine job! There is always room for improvement so excuse me for addressing it this directly :)
I really like the idea behind your game. It somehow reminds me of a minimalist Sea of Thieves (or the most recent Ship of Fools). It sure could use some polish and a bit more production value, but I think it's a cool basis you can easily build upon with more mechanics and things to do. Keep up the good work!
Yo this is crazy close to the original idea our team had for the jam! We somehow pivoted to a match 3 puzzle game, but if we kept up the original design I Imagine it would play similar to this. I especially like the canon tile AND how you can move the whole ship. Did y'all have additional plans for "interactable" tile types?
the wait between the first UFO (the green one) and the second (the pink one) is a little too long. otherwise after this, UFO attack more frequently and that's great :) Its a fun game to play !
