I managed to walk out of the maze a couple of times and fall out of the world :P But I liked the game itself

I liked the game, but I really hated the controls... I sometimes just wanted to look around and see what was happening, but couldn't do that because there were no controls for that.

Or was that intentional?

Welp, You did a great job creating an animated character. Well done!

tero-pulkkinen 2019-04-29 07:00

nice little running game. The character animations are the nicest part, but running away from bad guys is always fun. it said level 1 all the time, so dunno how to get to level 2... Even after reaching to safety, it's always level 1. But overall game looks nice.

Maze boundaries have some problems (you can go outside and fall in the universe of nothing)

Animations was great, but maybe you should focus more on polishing the core gameplay part.

In the overall I had fun and it's a nice game.

Nice animation and idea, could be developed into something more. Nice job :)

Enjoyed finding my way through the maze. Great way incorporating the theme with the camouflage. As others mentioned it is possible to climb on the sides and walk past the natives. I would recommend making the walls just slightly higher to remove this issue.

The animation was really nice. I liked it. I also found the audio nice and fitting.

Thanks everyone!

@kristinnes @memel06 @aplite: Yeah the maze boundaries was something I was aware of, but it didn't really occur to me to address for some reason. You're meant to be restricted to just the dirt path, but I knew you could walk on the grass with a bit of effort - I found that a convenient thing during development, and it just stuck. :)

@neverix: The controls were simple partially due to LD, but it was also somewhat deliberate given there aren't any walls to block the view - I thought it'd make it too easy if you could just look around!

@tero-pulkkinen: There's only one level unfortunately. :) The code is in there to load successive levels if I had got that far, hence it having a spot in the HUD.

Congratulations on doing the animation on the guy. I thought the animation turned out great - well done.

Animation is cool and smooth. I don't think that I can do something like that in blender. Music is also entertaining. I've managed to finish the level with 75% of life. I really liked how the locals were circling around me at he end. Well done!

I like your animation, good job. I found it a bit hard to keep track of chasing enemies, would've liked if I could look back somehow (maybe with mouse movement). At least I managed to win the stage by walking on grass on my third try :D

dimesto52 2019-05-03 09:34

there is a bug that allows you to mount on the wall

zondarg 2019-05-03 14:58

Good animation, and nice idea. I liked the witch doctor  ..well done!

captaindreamcast 2019-05-03 22:00

This was an amazing 3D animation, I'd never believe it was your first time doing that! The game was neat, I felt like there were multiple ways to play it, either rush straight through or use the potions to blend in with the natives and make it through undetected. Played it a couple times and had a good time, well done!

Love the music and the animations were great! It felt very "prototype", but that's not a bad thing. The controls were smooth, and the gameplay was good. With a bit more time I'm sure you could have made this look good and hope you release a post-jam version!
