LD39 — Running out of Power

Winding Woods by tybantarnusa 2017-08-01T08:12:55Z

Aww man, I missed reading the whole changing-layout part and thought I had gone nuts while playing this game and losing my way. You really managed to bring out the lost-in-the-woods feeling, kudos for that!

Small note, I once got stuck after charging my phone at a charging station and no 1 press in the world could convince my mobile-phone-loving MC to move on.

Really great game!

Tiny Explorer by rijnswand 2017-08-02T07:14:10Z

Very comfy and atmospheric. I also enjoyed the style of the game. Gameplay was good, it felt unlike racing games, but obviously trying something else is a good thing, not a bad thing here. So yeah, I liked it and I think it was executed well. Great entry!

MOTHER by Kakureta 2017-08-01T04:15:52Z

That ending, man. Wasn't expecting that, to say the least. Also, I can't seem to quit the ending screen.

Really aesthetic game, that switching idea gave me an Ikaruga feel. Only thing I didn't like was how much vertical and horizontal movement differ. Evading ghosts vertically was about 400% more problematic than dodging their buddies placed on horizontal sections.

Music and mood were great. The effects really helped a lot. Cool game!

Ashmup by TimTipGames 2017-08-01T07:56:08Z

I only died on stage 2, so I want to officially contest the only-stage-3-is-hard notion.

As for the game, polished and juicy. Those little details really enhanced your game, like the enemy explosion particles changing colors. This game is really great, even more so knowing that it was done in 48 hours!

The Fallen by CliffracerX 2017-08-01T04:26:59Z

The graphics are really good, gameplay takes a little time to get into, but works. The survival stuff (with the generators) is pretty good already, but I feel the combat part could still use some polish.

And I know everyone and their mom already said it, but that's really a lot for a single day! Amazing!

Energy Enigma by JCMonkey 2017-08-03T08:50:54Z

I liked the idea! I think once you polish it up a little and work on a post-jam version, it will make a nice puzzle game.

Also, I would like to suggest a little tutorial screen. Looking forward to see where you go with this!

Trials of the Vapor Lattice by oxysoft 2017-08-01T07:47:42Z

Oh God, I caused the Lord of the Lake to suffer a fate worse than death in the ending?!

Either way, you will probably get this a trillion times but the game is really A E S T H E T I C. Amazing what you managed to put out in only 72 hours!

Feed the machine by Vivoubos 2017-08-01T17:28:47Z

Loved the audio and dialogue. Always made me chuckle and really makes you want to complete the tasks to advance the story. Great work!

Decaying Card Game by filippy 2017-08-01T14:03:12Z

Darnit! I noticed too late the cards were getting weaker! Cool concept, it really adds another layer of strategy to the game. Good job making an enjoyable game in just 48 hours, it's really something you can play over and over again. Also, despite some people maybe feeling it does not fit the theme, I felt the opposite, that it was a really creative use of the theme. Definitely one of its kind!

Are You Sure You Want To Send That? by grandtheftmarmot 2017-08-04T03:26:17Z

Hahaha, the stapler! 10/10 character. Additionally, I feel like the game also managed to convey an interesting topic, with the whole be careful about what you share online stuff.

This is the first time this Ludum Dare I've seen someone share a cheat code so everyone can make it through the game. I think it's a really cool idea. Also, the game felt incredibly polished, amazing!

Tiny Warlock by bwalter 2017-08-01T04:52:17Z

J U I C Y game!

Kinda escalated for me before the boss appeared. They killed and healed me so fast that I was stuck in an eternal loop of limbo.

Really enjoyed playing it though, it had very high quality.

Power Ownage by Drury 2017-08-01T08:28:27Z

Nice.

Loved the presentation and the rotation went hand-in-hand with creating a sense of urgency and action. SFX, Music, Graphics were really good as well. Just a small note, the final boss bugged out on me and got stuck in the wall, no longer doing anything.

All in all, I'm glad that I played that game. A little seasick, but glad. Would love to see a longer version.

The forgotten mission by stoffe 2017-08-01T09:53:29Z

I loved how immersed the player with the little texts. Also really funny! Cool entry!

Rise Shine Fall by ijona 2017-08-02T06:38:32Z

OOOooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmyeeeeeeeeh.

Like someone said before, I like that you went for something different here, and I think you managed to make something special. Very atmospheric and beautiful. And of course the best thing: Shamanic chanting sound effects. Top!

ZapDune by diptoman 2017-08-02T06:30:01Z

I really loved the setting, flying through the skies. The music was a great pick, gave it an epic feel. Gameplay was neat and polished with the grappling mechanics. All in all cool entry, hope you keep working on it!

Escape from Π²Π»Π°ΡΡ‚ΡŒ (Vlast) by Crown Games 2017-08-01T10:04:33Z

Never in my life did I desire a run button as much as in this game.

Other than that, the game is really good. Nice mood, graphics and background music. The puzzle design was really cool too. Extremely challenging with the time limit. Would love to see more of this!

No Sign Of Life by silkworm_sweatshop 2017-08-07T10:15:23Z

Glad to see I'm not the only one who let the cryo-dude die during the first playthrough. One pellet was such a nice middle option.

On topic: you really nailed the mood, with the walking around the planet, the music and the intriguing storyline. There were hardly any games in this Ludum Dare that made me as immersed as this one. Gonna play this a third time now to let Red's family know he died a hero. Anyway. congrats, you really made the most out of those 48 hours!

Power Rush by Mik3 2017-08-01T09:43:53Z

The crystals are the slightly different colored stones, yeah.

I liked that the stones actually crushed you after time runs out (didn't like that it made the game crash though). Takes some time to figure out, but once you get it, it' a solid game.

Did you model all that in 48 hours? I'm seriously impressed!

Surge by machinescreen 2017-08-01T13:10:46Z

6:08 here.

I like the gameplay idea of being able to build new towers yourself. It really scales organically the way you lack materials in the early waves and later on, you really no longer care because every spacebug in the galaxy is out to steal your thunder. It's really the kind of game you get so immersed in, you stop noticing your surroundings. Definitely a cool game!

Hold Back the Night by dnp 2017-08-01T03:30:43Z

One of the most solid concepts I've played today! Rushing out and rushing back in make for a simple, yet effective experience. Also, is it me or is the music disabled by default? It's good for the mood you were going for, so you should consider enabling it by default instead.

Super Square Dash Deluxe by Lemonade 2017-08-01T14:34:44Z

_GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!_

Haha, fun game. I can see this going somewhere great with a little polish.

Low-Speed Internet Space Robot Adventure by Toulou 2017-08-01T09:07:29Z

I MADE A LITTLE ROBOT VERY HAPPY

Nice entry, mixing two game styles together was really cool and worked surprisingly well. The text portions were well-written and funny, I really liked those. Cool game!

The Crown Prince by Baby Dino Herd 2017-08-02T06:56:14Z

Argh, mathematics, man's deadliest foe!

Really loved the puzzle aspect here and how you mixed it with a sense of dread. This is the kind of game you really get absorbed into, great work!

Buzzy Bee by Estebe 2017-08-01T03:57:03Z

32%, looks like my career as a bee is over before it began ;_;

Anyway, interesting take on the theme. I liked the sound effects, they gave a nice feedback for actions.

Cavernous by Takki 2017-08-01T10:14:44Z

The graphics, mood and music are top-notch. The get-stuck thing kinda ruins the experience a little though. Also, a reset button like somebody already mentioned.

I like what you were trying to do, hope you keep working on it! Really solid entry!

Lantern by Kaban 2017-08-01T07:36:05Z

Amazing how you managed to create such an immersive mood with your art and the sound. Especially the clicking of the flash light, cool how much you got out of that sound. Definitely gonna check out other games from you guys!

MoonBall by CurseTats 2017-08-01T10:43:14Z

This could use a restart button, methinks. Another bug was that the final gate told me I did it even though I only had 4/5 energy thingies.

I liked the idea of a limited sight platformer, so I liked the gameplay. I think the graphics and music worked well for the type of game you were going for. Hope you keep working on this, man, it has potential.

Depths of Oceania by cnoble 2017-08-01T12:29:24Z

Mwahahaha, as long as I use the down arrow and not S key to submerge, the timer never starts and the bars stay in place. Number one time ranking with 0.0s, here I come!

Jokes aside, I'm really amazed how much you did for the compo! I loved the gameplay idea, balancing the three bars while making a descent. Thinking about it, a sub is probably one of the places where running out of energy is something you'd want to avoid and that happens relatively often (at least in fiction, I hope not in real life). So yeah, amazing models, cool atmosphere and good use of the theme. All in all one of the best entries I've played thus far, though it might need a little polish.

Floppyboy by Dariusa 2017-08-06T06:33:41Z

Very polished game. Loved the music and graphics. Only thing I'd mention is that I was stupid enough to often accidentally select a dialogue option again after it had finished. Then I'd mash the space key like a madman, which resulted in me selecting it accidentally again. Either way, amazing job!

Scale of Life by ilya_kozlov 2017-08-01T13:33:05Z

Cute and comfy, a nice combo. Got a few perfect here and there, though I'm not sure how. Made for a nice package, all in all. Great entry!

Scrap Hunt by snek 2017-08-01T08:51:40Z

Very comfy, very polished game. Only bugged out for me once after I had deposited scraps. I could no longer move no matter how much I tried to convince Mr. Scrap-Picker otherwise. ;_;

But yeah, apart from that: great music/SFX, great graphics. Best of all was the atmosphere, the music and SFX created something cool there.

Either way, solid entry, I'm back to collecting some more scraps.

The positive user by Windclay 2017-08-01T13:47:39Z

This was the first game I played with a leaderboard, a cool way to encourage replayability, even if only to see your stupid name on the board. Also very immersive, only thing I felt were missing were sound effects when clicking the buttons. Feels very polished though, I really liked it!

LOTS - Legend of the Teleportation Stone by oliverlevay 2017-08-01T03:06:48Z

The voice overs were really great. The mix of higher-pitched and normal voices made it very funny. Also the music was perfect for the mood. Amazing!

Into the pit by phantomcorps 2017-08-01T03:17:34Z

We need more fast tank games. Or games were you can use a tank to drive over things at an unreasonable speed. What I'm trying to say is I really liked the tank's feel.

Shame you didn't have more time, would have loved to see where you go with the idea, especially with the boss.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Lovely Kana by FireSlash 2017-12-05T09:24:20Z

The lady down the hall will probably go down in history as the greatest game villain of 2017.

Made it to the end on my third run (didn't even think there was an ending). It was enjoyable and fun, you really managed to give the main character an interesting personality. Design-wise it was top-notch, my only remark would be that the text overlay blocked out the buttons, which means you sometimes press buttons without seeing what written on them. Not that it's a big issue, since the button texts are always the same depending on the activity.

All in all, very good interpretation of the theme.

Being Plundered by bradur 2017-12-07T03:14:44Z

Yeeahh, made it to 100k (barely). Blocking space pirates with asteroids was a surprisingly optimal strategy.

I liked the drag effect at the space station, though I'll admit it's kinda disheartening if you get shot while entering it and can't do anything. Overall, the game felt like a very complete package to me. All thumbs up!

Calorie by Terryd98 2017-12-04T12:13:38Z

Nah man, I can't get behind the idea that spikes make me fat, all those saturday morning cartoons taught me that they pop people.

I can tell you had a lot of fun designing those levels and it really shines through. Spikes as the bounce and golden apple as the landing pad, that's the kinda thing that makes you go, "how'd he come up with that?". Great stuff.

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-07T03:35:07Z

Those screams man, how could I not drive over people after hearing those? Looking through the comment thread, my 22 appear to have still been a rather small amount though.

As for the game, it's fun. I don't know Carmageddon, I only know Micro Machines and think you managed to capture the fun aspect of top-down racers while also giving it a fun twist related to the theme. Hats off to you guys.

テッ球 T E K K Y U by simonhutchinson 2017-12-10T07:46:12Z

First thing I did was obviously google translate the japanese part of the title, which to my delight was promptly translated as Tekkyu. After having acquired this supreme knowledge, I set out on my quest to collect all the particles in Tekkyu Tekkyu. Never managed to get below 180 left though. At that point I can't even activate bullet time fast enough anymore, so I have to begrudgingly accept the limitations of my human body.

On the review side, it's all a very complete package. The music, design and presentation flow perfectly together. I'd even go as far to say the gameplay idea of collecting particles goes perfectly with the Vaporware theme. The controls weren't that much of a gamebreaker really, sometimes I'd slip and mess up the buttons, but due to the relative short round lengths it didn't feel like a huge penalty.

So yeah, all in all I had lots of fun with the experience, though I still don't know what Tekkyu means.

Hyper Looter Shooter by Drury 2017-12-05T04:29:51Z

>Graphics Quality: Pink

yes

The train made me jump the first time it hit me, bravo for that. The artstyle creates a nice vibrant mood, perfect for an arcade-style game. I'd also praise it for it's fast gameplay loop, though I fear this loop only happens because I keep dying too fast.

I wish I could get that "NICE!", but I'm still having fun with this.

The Legend of the Bikini Armor by Sun-Wukong 2017-12-05T03:13:07Z

Daaamn, those animations, you would've killed the compo. Kinda want to go back to all the previous games I thought had good graphics and downgrade them.

Gameplay was fluid, though I kinda feel like doing it with the base armor would be impossible. Loved the witty dialogues at the beginning. I accidentally clicked away the chest text after finding it, using arrow keys for that was kinda unfortunate. I also got text once when entering the cave and was immediately sent back to the village, though I also clicked that away accidentally, so I can't say what it said.

Shame about the content, but I feel the gameplay and the animations were a large step up from Tesla Defense.

Excessive by moonlightbomber 2017-12-05T09:37:54Z

After I was superproud that I had DosBox to play it, I failed to make Basic work with it and had to download QB64 anyway.

So yeah, it works. As for the story, it was an interesting introspective piece. The ending surprised me. I guess it's something a lot of people can relate to.

... by exezin 2017-12-05T03:46:37Z

AHHHHHHHHHHH THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL SPEED.

The tank controls really are the game's biggest strength and weakness. On one hand, they make up the main gimmick of the controls and on the other hand, they are probably the first things players blame when things get hard. It's fun to skebop around though, so it works out in the end.

Your engine is really well done. If you hadn't said anything I would have assumed it to be made with a premade engine. Didn't notice any bugs either. Impressive work!

Pirate Cat by valkyrie 2017-12-05T10:28:23Z

During my first run I thought "Yeah, I get these many points even by dying, who cares if I get a Game Over or not?" That ocean bonus though. I wonder what the least amount of gold is you can drop and still reach the ocean. Anyway, a fun idea, I'm a sucker for cats attached to balloons.

Tosser by Mik3 2017-12-04T11:39:52Z

Intro and you-fail text are instant 10/10.

I'd say it takes a while to get into, but once you're in the rhythm, it achieves a steady flow. I imagine this concept would be even more flow-inducing in VR. I like it more than the drilling game from last LD, I think your game design feels more "streamlined" with this one.

Ecstasy of Gold by thiagofr 2017-12-05T01:44:36Z

I think I gave one of the guards brain damage by jumping on him for a few minutes straight.

Your models were cute. Did you learn Blender animation during the 48 hours of the Ludum Dare? That's pretty amazing. With a few more levels this could make for a sweet game. Really sweet LD entry. Congrats!

Ecstasy of Gold by thiagofr 2017-12-05T09:57:31Z

@thiagofr Nah, the final stretch with three guys chasing you sometimes resulted in two of the guys squeezing the third, but that was about it.

128 coins by shared 2017-12-04T04:42:05Z

GETTING THOSE COINS WHILE FALLING AND GETTING SHOT AT IS IMPOSSIBLE IMPOSSIBLE I SAY

But really, I like the varying design of the screens. Plus those dynamic lighting effects on the candles, that's pretty nifty. Even if they're not dynamic, they tricked me into thinking that, so that counts as well.

One thing I'd note is that the game opens a terminal, and according to the terminal, something's not right with the icon. I only get the Godot one as well, so I dunno.

Six by CodeChomper 2017-12-10T06:28:28Z

What I liked the most was how you mixed up real-time traps and non-real-time traps. I hadn't seen that before. I also agree that the static camera is the better choice for this game, otherwise you would lose the entire think-from-the-robot's-point-of-view gimmick and people would just rotate instead of thinking.

All in all, a very solid game, I'd love to have seen more levels, and that's the best thing there is after finishing a Ludum Dare game, right?

Be Yourself by Noa Calice 2017-12-05T00:11:35Z

HA, I MADE IT TO 100 (barely). PRAISE THE SUN.

I don't think it ramps up too quickly, given that it scales with how many of the baddies are attached to you. It makes coming back from a few mistakes an interesting struggle and it had me on my toes quite often, but never felt unfair. Also, of course the graphics are gorgeous.

I also like how you attached an interesting message to your game. All in all, cool stuff!

Headache by Number6406 2017-12-04T23:56:51Z

How many sons does Satan have? The guy sure gets around.

You had a good thing going on with the timer and making it a rapid-fire of choices. Also the things on the lists made me laugh, good job.

Much to loot about Nothing by pinkemma 2017-12-04T12:35:18Z

Hey, I seem to be stuck on this here level, can I send you some money to get past this? Hey?

Very topical and had a good idea behind it. Also good job on making the download java-install-independent. That's something I hadn't actually seen here yet before.

A Social Life by Owen Davies 2017-12-04T06:06:29Z

Numa Numa WILL come back, you'll see. It's just taking a break.

I very rarely stumble upon meta games in LD, so this was pretty novel to me. And I thought it was funny. I got way more out of this than out of No Man's Sky, I'll tell you that.

Mr. Gigafist: a post-apocalyptic brawling adventure by Shodanon 2017-12-07T12:24:34Z

The ultimate strategy is getting a bunch of fans to shield you. Though it doesn't transfer well to kills, I only got 10 and those were the guys killing each other.

I think the game did juice well, I particularly enjoyed the punch sound effects and the effects when running over dead enemies where they explode. The BGM seems a little quiet, but that may be just my imagination. I think the BGM itself fit well with the game.

Cool game, I'm a sucker for arcade-style games so I enjoyed this fast-paced type of gameplay a lot.

Cat Herder by Nick Luciani 2017-12-04T05:49:15Z

After having lived through this Vietnyan, I now have a newfound appreciation for cat ladies and their eternal struggle.

It's a really good interpretation of the theme and a very addictive gameplay loop. It's really hard to stop playing once you're playing it because each session by itself is relatively short. I enjoyed it!

Objectification by CaptainDreamcast 2017-12-04T05:35:54Z

Thanks for the nice words!

Girlfriends are shuffled randomly. Each of the five girls has 6 different dialogues (Originally it was supposed to be 10 girls and 10 pieces of dialogue each, but that didn't work out time-wise).

Don't tell the aggy daggy bully crew, but I'm an enginedev. I have an engine that builds Dreamcast, Windows and HTML5 games using the same code. It uses C, SDL2, Emscripten and the KallistiOS Dreamcast homebrew library though, so it's not completely from the ground up.

Rocket Jump by RahmKota3 2017-12-05T00:43:57Z

This feeling of betrayal the first time you fall through a transparent platform, I'll remember that.

But yeah, it's really cool once you get the timing down and just rocketjump your way through the levels. You integrated the theme well and if you replace the programmer art I can see this working as a complete game concept. I for one enjoyed it a lot.

Bunnyfication by dekart 2017-12-05T10:12:19Z

The cute thumbnail lured me in.

Took me a second run to figure out the controls, but the game quickly becomes very addicting. My bunny empire grew to the point my laptop started getting louder. Good job, I'm especially impressed with the calming mood the game sets.

Deadline by Sholf 2017-12-04T07:10:05Z

The pen really was mightier than the sword after all.

I'm with the other posters, I liked the way you interpreted the theme. The gameplay had a good feel to it as well and you really managed to balance the difficulty quite well!

Crimson Recon by TobiasNL 2017-12-07T03:03:15Z

Can't reach the ending either, I've been trying since yesterday ;_;

I originally reported mouse issues, but that appears to have been a mistake on my part. I tried a different mouse and everything worked normally. Sorry for the false alarm.

Anyway, it's a really amazing entry, definitely the one I had the most fun with.

Mizu by sbarrio 2017-12-04T12:01:04Z

Those spoons in the last level were brutal. Well placed, that last one nearly took all my lives.

It was really well-designed all around considering you only had 48 hours. Probably the best use of the theme I've seen yet.

The Blacksmith by darefus 2017-12-07T04:46:13Z

Ayyyy, I loved this game. Got the give-everything-except-your-last-dollerydoo ending.

Wish I could play the other routes, but it crashes now when I restart (or is that part of the intended experience and I'm not supposed to change my story?). Either way, this is exactly my type of game, 10/10, I have no regrets in my blacksmith life.

Rogue-Light by SilvervaleGames 2017-12-05T02:41:35Z

The chest opening sound effect is officially the greatest thing ever.

The sound design was really spot on and set the mood perfectly, I'm really impressed by those. The best atmosphere I've seen in an LD entry this far.

Gameplay-wise it feels polished and fun. The only thing I'd note is that I feel just collecting money for the bank was too much like real life.

LD42 — Running out of space

Giant Sun by bemmu 2018-08-17T11:32:06Z

Made it to number 5 (as of writing this)!

Challenging game, but you also managed to make it feel fair, which is amazing. I like the design of the death screens, the frying pan one was the best one of those. Great entry, glad I played it!

Shrinking Panes by Pennycook 2018-08-16T11:49:47Z

I agree with everyone, the story was funny, got some portal vibes from that. It also has some neat stuff hidden in there, like the death chance percentage changing, that really showed a love for details. One detail in particular I liked was that the professor and his sidekick run away from you at the end, I managed to chase them all the way around the experiment area before delivering sweet eye laser justice. So yeah, cool game!

SpaceDos by TheGamer1123211 2018-08-16T20:19:02Z

Got to a million too! According to current rates, that would be $6.402.020.000, which is about the GDP of Germany, France and the UK combined. Not bad for a day's work.

The visuals were nice, especially when the hacker took over. At first I thought I'd get cheeky with him and refuse to pay, but thankfully you added a warning for people like me. All in all it felt really polished, only thing I'd really note is that the upgrades are too cheap for the bitcoin ramp-up that happens early in the game. I had fun saving the protagonist's marriage, great job!

Snake Reduction by ReiMari 2018-08-17T10:30:47Z

Everything past 50 is incredibly intense, I made it to 69 before ramming into myself. I agree with what everyone said, it's a very clever take on the theme and one that's very fun to play too.

RC Adventures by teekeks 2018-08-17T15:16:44Z

You know a game is wholesome if it starts by saying "Hi there!"

I had lots of fun with it, and certainly enjoyed seeing the small RC tank turn from a defenseless little unit into a weapon of mass destruction near the end. I originally wanted to do a minigun run, because I enjoyed the flying mechanic so much, but the launcher and RPG were nice tradeoffs as well. Good job on the game!

Floating Island by Echo Team 2018-08-16T03:24:33Z

I only got to 200.000 before Poseidon claimed my island.

All in all a very pretty submission, would be cool to see it with a little more information. Reading your comments here about how stores, silos and factories interact was interesting, I think just a splash screen in the beginning with that sort of info would have been enough. There is lots of attention to detail in the models, the factory workers even have a door to enter their workplace. Water effects were good-looking too with the foam effect and the sunlight reflection. Could look at that water rise forever.

Gravitwister by Drury 2018-08-15T14:23:59Z

Briefs E.T. looks so content, this truly is the look of a man who has accepted his role in the universe.

The visuals were really impressive, seeing stuff fly around the black hole is fun, especially near the end when there is a lot of debris and unfortunate aliens. Audio design was top notch as well, both the background music and - the underrated star which nobody has mentioned yet - the blop sound when something gets sucked into the black hole. One thing I'd found is that the magnetism effect is not as useful as just ramming stuff into the hole, maybe that could use an upgrade. At first I also thought it was too easy, but then I died unintentionally two times in a row, so I guess so much for that. I also played with a controller and indeed remapping tether to a face button works.

All in all, cool interpretation of the theme and cooler execution.

OutThere by mrsylar59 2018-08-17T09:56:56Z

I'm in the 5-planets-is-my-max-because-of-those-drasted-asteroids camp too.

Everything is incredibly fun, keeping track of all the resources, keeping a mental map of which planets you have visited and which you haven't and especially the switch between the two gameplay mechanics. The game over screens were hilarious too, made me want to die each possible way. Also makes me sad I couldn't reach the ending and see the victory screen. You clearly put a lot of work into your submission and it shows. Great job on that one!

Test Subject 42 by nihilaleph 2018-08-17T15:51:34Z

Well if the thumbnail asks me to play this kindly, who would I be to refuse.

Very smart take on the theme, you really need a couple runs until you figure out the optimal placement for all the items. I guess a little luck is necessary too, I always threw away the ball and cylinder, and luckily they were never part of my final trial rush. Very fun game, would volunteer to be test subject again.

Return to Garbage World by mrjorts 2018-08-17T14:49:31Z

Took a few tries, but the confetti made it all worth it.

I'm a sucker for vector-style graphics, so I also want to join in and say that it's an incredibly pretty game. Took me a while to figure out up and down, but it was a lot of fun once I had things figured out. I think the explanation text was pretty clear though, it was just me having poor reading comprehension there. So yeah, very cool game.

Hoarder Disorder by REBDC 2018-08-15T17:06:11Z

I set out with the goal to reach at least a 1000 points in the trains level and managed to get all the way to 1900. I don't know what the current world high score leaderboard for hoarder disorder looks like but I'm still proud of myself.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much strategy was in the game, you had a lot of space for gameplay choices. There were multiple ways of dealing with the two other dudes in the trains level, either by tricking them into getting run over, shooting them or hoping they kinda run into the train themselves. I enjoyed that a lot and exploring ways to best approach a level was pretty fun. Great job on the design!

HELP: The Illuminati captured my family and are forcing me to make this game by CaptainDreamcast 2018-08-22T19:36:11Z

Thanks for all the feedback! Tried something a little more story-heavy this time around. Sorry if the music was too cruel, I know no music would be better but I wanted to at least, you know, try.

@nihilaleph >Though… what do A. and A.A. stand for?

The thing is that secret societies always have these single letter names (deriving this arcane knowledge from Men in Black), so there was supposed to be the whole shtick that interns get two letters until they become full members, that's where it was from. They were both As because they are the only two members of the Illuminati and operate from A.'s mom's basement (I wanted the original ending to be A.'s mom yelling at them from above, but felt that would have been too predictable, or too common, so I dropped that). A lot of stuff was cut, I think the most visible example is Atlantis, which is still visible on the world map, but part of Europe, since I no longer had time to do its scenarios.

@darefus @jern Thanks for the feedback! Probably the most awkward place to put it, but I haven't (properly) tried Consensual Love in a Dungeon yet, 'cause I'm on the road and only have my laptop with a broken down arrow key with me. Always picking the top action leads to a great Christian game experience, but I'd like to properly test it when I'm back home next week. No more Glim Galloby the Sturdy, Virgin Slayer, Goblin Slayer, Spider Slayer.

Consensual Love in a Dungeon (NSFW) by darefus 2018-09-02T22:28:47Z

I am torn between two runs as my main runs, one as Glim Galloby the Sturdy, the Goblin Fucker, Friend to Spiders (v 1.07) and one as Glim Galloby the Sturdy, Virgin Slayer, Goblin Slayer, Spider Slayer (v 1.06). Whatever happens, I can't help the sturdiness.

Feedback-wise, I'd say this was the funniest game for me yet, as I absolutely adored the surreal writing. Like in a lot of titles, the writing feels completely function-oriented, but here, I couldn't help but notice how you used, for example, the options to build atmosphere, sometimes having all of them result in the same thing, or multiple having the same outcome etc. On that note, the mood itself was really well-executed too. I'm curious how this develops in the full version where there's presumably more context to the adventures of the sturdy, bold or homeless. Both music and art work really well for this type of game, so I'm sure it will be great either way.

As far as possible improvements go, the first thing I'd have to note is that I also had the crash (the game closing itself) before the spider encounter during my very first playthrough in version 1.06. Additionally, I feel like the dialogue system could use a few improvements to make replaying segments easier. Since you have multiple paths, you often want to rush through earlier chapters while making the same selections as before. Currently, spacebar is the only thing that advances the texts and selects options, which can lead to accidentally selecting the top option. Maybe a fast-forward button for text that was already read, which stops when options appear would be a cool thing for a full release.

Hope to see more from you and I'm definitely keeping the voucher for that free ghost bj. Great stuff!

Cell Is Win by BetaCat 2018-08-17T11:13:25Z

Made it to the endless level!

Hard but rewarding game. Only bug I noticed was that if you have a black hole equipped when losing, you can't click the restart button. I think the game perfectly encapsulates the theme by giving the player that claustrophobic feeling that goes along with space is running out. Strategy-wise, you balanced the power ups incredibly well, each of them felt immensely powerful without becoming "that one gamebreaking powerup". Felt really polished. Great job on that!

You Wanna Pizza Me? by Elowan 2018-08-17T08:34:09Z

Made it to 11000 points! I feel perfectly prepared for the pizzacious future.

The music and design really flowed together well, the gameplay had a sweet arcade feeling to it which made it fun to play just over and over again to get a higher score. The funny customer replies were a nice touch too, felt like a reward for delivering the pizzas, that was a great idea. Only thing I feel uncertain about is that the random amount of pizzas enemies drop made it seem like a lot of my scoring was up to luck. But that's a minor thing, the game is a hilarious take on the theme coupled with a great execution! Good job!

You Wanna Pizza Me? by Elowan 2018-08-17T13:41:02Z

@merpader my optimal strategy is to stay in the bottom right corner and quickly snipe them as they run up to the houses. It still depends on RNG a lot, for example in case some guy comes to the right horizontally, the whole thing falls apart, but it was a pretty reliable strategy.

Sakaven Simimulator by T8kk 2018-08-16T12:27:01Z

I did it, I became a Winrar as well!

One thing I'd note is that a reset button would have been handy. In the level with the spinning death trap in the middle and the six holes placed around it, I managed to softlock myself multiple times by making poor decisions and had to restart the game. That aside, this is an incredibly well-polished game, I'm absolutely amazed. Great job on that.

HANA by Conspite 2018-08-15T18:06:54Z

Whoa, that last level is pretty intense. Spent the final few seconds in an air pocket I shot for myself.

Great gameplay design, I'm in awe of what you managed to create with these four cellular automata types as building blocks.

Breathing Room by Barondev 2018-08-15T15:05:37Z

>I love you space, but I'm running out of here

K I N O

As for improvements: I'd say the fire rate could be increased, at least I feel that could make it feel better than just making the enemies faster to kill. Additionally, moving down is kind of problematic in the game, since you can't see far ahead and have a habit of running into enemies and/or having enemies shoot at you in unavoidable and frustrating ways. I'd also have liked more feedback when getting hit by enemies. Finally, there's a typo in the first textbox, "Surrounded my monsters", or maybe the protagonist is hiding something and had a freudian slip. Anyway, that's as far as my wishlist goes.

The art style is great, I took another look at Scrap Hunt to compare and you can really see the difference. Big level-up there. I'm not a music buff, so take what I say with not only a grain, but rather a shovel of salt, but I felt at times the gameplay music was too calm for the chaotic action taking place. On the other hand, it really nailed the spacey-ness and mood of being stuck on a strange planet. Additionally the music is high-quality, no doubt about that.

Really well-done game, everyone above already said it, but it felt very polished and something with potential to turn into a bigger game. So yeah, good job and good luck with the post-LD version.

Corrupt Space by jmswrnr 2018-08-16T19:35:35Z

The disco got me good, that made me jump irl.

I'm usually pretty resistant to horror atmospheres but there were multiple things that got me. I'm not gonna spoil them, but the background ambience and overall mood were really exquisite. Like holy shmolies, I don't think a 2D horror game has ever made me feel this jumpy. Amazing work!

Ninja Bear by Hunter Towe 2018-08-16T04:20:04Z

Really cool platformer! I love how the music gets more intense the farther you go! Yeah, the only bug I noticed was the life counter sometimes jumping from 3 to 1 after the first death. But that's a minor issue, it's really amazing what you made of the short time given in the compo! Great job!

Geometry Merge by M8rix 2018-08-17T09:08:57Z

I always play the game before reading the comments, so after I was super proud of my 30000 score, my heart got shattered to bits when I saw those "infinite points" comments.

Although that does make me wonder what the optimal strategy is, my strategy was always to only merge two blocks if they had a distance of two moves or less. Had a few nailbiters there, I managed to come back from zero steps left to the triple digits, so you really made an interesting way to come back from sticky situations. I was constantly on edge, a super fun game!

Space is running out of space by DarkGuardsman 2018-08-16T13:16:35Z

Made it to 100 points at 750 scraps in space! The FPS bar became a bit of a timer, but I still finished at a strong 700FPS (though with 2000 FPS starting it had me a little sweating).

Very arcade-y game, it becomes lots of fun once the debris starts adding up. My personal go-to strategy was camping near the scrap drop and waiting for debris to fly by, though I can see there being multiple possibilities. Only thing I couldn't figure out was health, even though I bumped into scrap I was towing rather liberally while playing the game, I never lost any of that. All in all a cool interpretation of the theme, great job!

Super Overachiever 42000 Deluxe by suve 2018-08-15T13:18:36Z

There is something incredibly meta in the fact that you can't stop collecting those shiny coins even if they indirectly damage you. Or maybe that's just me.

A really creative take on the theme! You clearly put a lot of thought into level design in a way that complements the achievements, that coin trap near the beginning of level 3 was especially devilish. I never managed to make it past level 4, that was always when the third bottom row of achievements would fill up and I had to restart the game. I'm just not good enough at platformers and/or avoiding coins. Either way, amazing what you made of the 48 hours of the compo, great job!

Eterneroids by skytiger 2018-08-16T03:53:31Z

The slowness bug got me too. Which is sad, because I got really into it. Still managed to make it all the way to 5000 points, but at that point the bullet time made the challenge moot.

You put some nice details in there, like enemy debris getting pushed towards the shot direction upon dying, those things are always sweet to see. Really cool take on the theme for the genre too, you do get pretty claustrophobic when the rings start piling up. Had lots of fun with this, it's great!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Battlecraft : Orcs and Famine by SoKette 2018-12-07T00:53:58Z

There's always that heart-wrenching moment when you reach the selection that kills you either way, and you know you're gonna die, and you change back to the Ludum Dare tab to start writing the feedback, but you can't run away aaaand- there ends my 94 days run. Ahhh, so close to 100, yet so far.

It's super fun, there's a noticeable learning effect when playing multiple times and I greatly enjoyed slowly memorizing what each selection does. The game over effects had some cool visual effects going on. Of course, the very best were the orcs themselves. You really managed to make me feel like the leader of a pack of orcs and it felt amazing. Great game!

The Cold Equations by incobalt 2018-12-07T19:43:43Z

Wow, I was gripped by the story the whole way through. Felt very hard to do "the thing". I tried another run afterwards playing with the display and trying to make it through without anybody dying in the void of space, but I guess it wouldn't be the cold equation otherwise. Amazing idea for the theme, and a great implementation, the ambience in the background added a lot to the immersion of what was going on. Glad I played this game, great job!

No Brakes on the Train of Life by squaredev 2018-12-04T01:10:09Z

The Monty Hall level was the best one, that made me laugh out loud. Didn't see that coming, just like all the innocent people I murdered.

Great take on the theme, it's the type that makes you snap your fingers and say "Of course!". The art was top-notch, special mention to the cute train driver's reactions, which gave just so much more weight to the act of running over people with a train. The music was chosen well, it has a nice chugging along feel to it. What a fun game, good job on that!

Sacrus by Drury 2018-12-04T18:04:09Z

Guy who can't settle on a name you're so done with him did a great job on the music. The whole game had a very rhythmical feel to it, with the red eyes in the background and jumping in sync with the music to swing your minions around. Took me a couple runs to figure out a winning strategy, my final run was 25 sacrifices overall, including myself. Once, I died as the 20th sacrifice and got both the thanks for feeding me and how embarrassing text at the same time, which I'll consider a draw for the books. Had some good fun with this again, well done to everyone!

Also, cinnamon candles really work best with pentagrams, that's the truth.

Miko Quest by Sun-Wukong 2018-12-03T03:24:50Z

Yeah, it crashed for me too after the second level during my first playthrough attempt. After restarting the game everything worked as intended, and it never crashed again.

Also made it through the game itself! The final puzzle gave me a bit of a hard time, I ran out of apples during my first few attempts.

The animations are the cutest thing, especially the little turnaround animation when you sacrifice. The >_< slimes come in close second. All in all, would convert to shintoism/10.

Of a Feather by scarfdev 2018-12-03T23:38:53Z

Managed to get two of them to freedom! Not sure what happened to the others, there were some ominous bell sounds, so I'll just assume they became professional bell tollers and lived happily ever after in the maze.

Anyway, the puzzle design was really solid, I'd especially give props to the first few tutorial sections. The way it managed to teach what structures to look out for in levels ([ things where you can gather chicks) felt really well-designed to me. The individual chickens and the sound effects were cute, those really fit well together. Very fun game, good job!

My Little Cultist - Sacrifice is Magic - Babby's First Eldritch Ritual edition by homeworld 2018-12-07T18:55:45Z

I did it, I managed to save humanity from its bright future of peace and lack of Yomh’uiggdu! My favorite strategy was creating a second summoner early and putting him in charge of summoning the portal while summoner #1 takes a roundtrip around the world.

The map is absolutely gorgeous and gigantic, the art in general managed to create a great lovecraftian mood. The sound effects also helped with that, especially the whoooosh and chanting sounds when you gather followers or devotion. Loved it!

Disciple by Subsage 2018-12-04T02:42:09Z

I ended up with 35166 days' worth of food, which - not accounting for leap years - roughly translates to 96 years of food. For now, I consider this the Disciple high score and challenge anybody to dethrone me.

The UI is incredibly gorgeous, the pixel art in general looks really good. The main problem I see right now are the bugs, for example, you can build a silo infinite times and gain infinite food that way. You can also ignore the Gods and keep building stuff despite the popup message. Maybe a personal problem, but on my 1920x1080 Windows machine, the task bar was blocking the buttons, so I had to move the task bar to the left. So maybe for future LD endeavors, a window mode would be cool. Either way, thanks for making that sim, I definitely feel more confident about being able to support a family now.

The Depths of Fortune and Glory by Julian Creutz 2018-12-05T17:30:38Z

28850 was my highest score. Got unlucky on the final stage and ran into a dead end with a legion of green guys following me, a very dramatic ending. Yeah, I got really into it which speaks of the solid design. The art style worked well and like someone said before, the size of the levels felt just right to leave enough space but not become too overwhelming to find the exit. Well done!

Titan Ceremony by alec 2018-12-06T22:33:39Z

My best run was 7500 and I felt like I squeezed out everything I could. Very fast-paced, my heart is still beating fast from that run. You managed to capture that arcade feel perfectly, would have spent a dozen quarters on that machine. Amazing job on graphics, music and design!

Itza Panic by Taffaz 2018-12-06T18:41:30Z

Ahh, I never managed to reach your amazing 44. Got really close though, my record was 43 after a couple tries. I had enough farms to just spam nature towers and keep the invaders occupied long enough. It's very fun trying different approaches to building defenses, there are a lot of ways to try and last when the enemies become overwhelming. You've really put a lot of thought into balancing the different towers and it shows, I didn't find any strategy that felt overwhelming. Great job on that and great job overall on your game!

The Cold Remains of Warmer Days by TheOneThatNeverWas 2018-12-03T23:08:33Z

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this. I originally clicked on it because it seemed like a game with a surrealist aesthetic which also had something meaningful to say, and I wasn't disappointed. The type writer segments were a great tool to put the more abstract segments into perspective, I thought that was a smart design choice. Amazing selection of music too. All-around great job!

Dev Jam by Fahrenheit459 2018-12-05T14:47:28Z

My best run was 17/20 going straight left from right. Glad people still appreciated Great3st Xtrem Vide0 GaMe AlphA VIII even without chroma.

It was a cool take on the theme, deciding which order to go in add a strategic layer to it, I thought that was neat. The distinct designs for the different robots looked good as well. What I liked most were the transitions, both the effects of winning/failing and the funny flavor texts between rounds, those really added personality to the game. Cool stuff!

Purple Space by BudgieM2 2018-12-05T15:33:36Z

Tried a solo run as well, because the game looked really interesting. I can agree with previous comments, bypassing the spinning lasers alone is hard. There is a huge sense of accomplishment once you do it though.

Felt very polished with the tutorial and the overall feel of the game. Had lots of fun popping the angry blobs.

Platformer.txt by Hugo kieffer 2018-12-06T00:25:06Z

Haha, what a fun game. My favorite level was the one where you had to time the collision file, that was intense. I must say, I've never seen a game like it either, and I could really see this becoming an even funner full game. Great idea!

The Sacrifice Basketball by kumabotz 2018-12-06T18:00:40Z

I did it, I reached my personal goal of 35 points (just as the timer hit zero)! In my experience, time was the best thing to sacrifice. But it's the type where everyone will experience the game differently, that's really cool design, I liked that. Also, the short round times really help you get into a very focused state. Loved it!

The Reign Of Lambs by MaFancy 2018-12-07T21:21:25Z

I was completely hooked from beginning to end. There was a lot of personality in this game, like the rams having individual names, the texts popping up when they died, the intro cinematic and of course the final scroll that made me laugh out loud with its ram speed comparison. The gameplay was extremely solid as well, having "movable blockers" that have a set amount of "uses" added a lot of depth to that genre of puzzle games. You apologized for running out of time, but I think you really managed to make an amazing game in those 48 hours, great work on that!

In the name of Spaghetti by Link 2018-12-05T18:27:15Z

I made it through all the five levels! The final one had me running, the last guard spotted me after I messed up the timing, but I made it to the chest and fulfilled my al dente destiny.

I thought the levels were well designed, they had a nice symmetry going on. Levels provided a good amount of challenge, levels 3-5 required multiple tries on my part, and always felt fair. I was on edge the whole time, good job!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Oink Royale by Skoggy 2019-05-05T11:31:44Z

Wow, I was really impressed by this game. The way the animations line up perfectly with the music was amazing! Got me really hyped up, great job! The explosion effects and controls were top-notch as well. All in all a super-well-done take on the the theme!

Jungle Magic by rsim 2019-05-03T22:00:58Z

This was an amazing 3D animation, I'd never believe it was your first time doing that! The game was neat, I felt like there were multiple ways to play it, either rush straight through or use the potions to blend in with the natives and make it through undetected. Played it a couple times and had a good time, well done!

Your life is my money by squaredev 2019-04-30T23:57:57Z

Yeah, the sheep still moving in the spike pit is nightmare fuel, wiggling on the border of life and death. Well I guess it's still better than lava...? I managed to sacrifice 15 animals (and a chunk of wood) to the volcano gods, so there shouldn't be any famine anytime soon, I'm proud of myself. Never got any fruit or cloth for trading though, and only one bandit, so maybe I didn't have an optimal run.

Models are great, while the cutesy animals were nailed as expected, you also pulled off the b u f f native dude incredibly well, kudos for that. Music is good, it wouldn't feel out of place in an Aladdin game or something, definitely fits. Fighting the bandit was pretty fun, I liked that, that felt satisfying. Very cool entry!

An I by Drury 2019-05-01T09:55:55Z

This game strongly resonated with me, as I also bump into people like that, complete with both of us flying one body height into the air.

So yeah, I loved the take on the theme, and the way you conveyed the narrative in more abstract terms. I noticed the big twist in the game's objective on my second playthrough and I liked it a lot. The graphics worked well with it too, it felt like there was a clear distinction between stuff that lives with the bright red-ish colors and stuff that's background. FOR RENT pay me 50€ to get credited as the musician since he just doesn't care (who sounds like a friend of guy who can't settle on a name you're so done with him) made a fitting background tune too, works very well with the theme of time. All around a very stylish entry!

Shinigami's new assignment by Sun-Wukong 2019-04-30T22:59:33Z

What a cute story! I was always looking forward to the next cutscene, I thought those were really well done. The art was superb, the animation on Shina especially, the walk cycle seemed incredibly smooth. The shadowy people worked great for the mood as someone mentioned before, that along with the music really pulls you in. So yeah, great job again!

Life is precious by freso 2019-05-02T21:00:15Z

AWW YEAAHHH, LAST LIFE AND FULLY SURROUNDED BY ENEMIES COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORY!

Took me a few tries to figure out a good strategy. Mine was to buy the sniper rifle and collect as many time stops as possible to stop the enemies from swarming at the end (they still did, but it was manageable). It turned into a bullet hell near the end, very intense. Loved the hype gameplay you crafted, as the capslock opening probably gave away, definitely had me sweating, great job!

Idle Skelly by Morg 2019-05-01T17:50:59Z

The king is dead, long live the skelly king!

What a great twist on the clicker genre, making the numbers going up actually result in a tangible consequence later on. I enjoyed getting around the place, everything had nice graphics and there were some great moments (that dragon fight in particular). I wouldn't worry too much about the missing backstory, I think when push comes to shove, most players can come up with their own for that. Neat tunes, neat graphics, neat hats on skeletons, all-around loved it!

My Sweet Money Shooter by Lex Randea 2019-05-04T23:39:46Z

Made it to victory! My triple A strategy was to hide behind the potted plant and shoot at whoever came by and swipe their coins.

Very intense gameplay, super appealing visually too with all the coins flying around! I loved the intro cutscene too, the voice acting was fun. Had a superb time playing this, great job!

Elevator Pitch by Hugimugi7 2019-05-03T21:07:56Z

I loved the story of this! This was a narrative I really hoped to see when the theme was announced, and I'm glad you picked it up and did something cool with it. The tableflip/throw fight was a fun and creative mechanic. All in all everything felt very stylish, I think the music was the biggest contributor to that, so great job on that. Very cool game!

Battin' Bats by DigiGee 2019-05-01T12:40:48Z

The times where it really works are great, my favorite level was when there was just a large plane with some bolders and tons of enemies, you could just zip around and smash those bats. Never made it past level 7 though, at that point the bats are everywhere and my HP nowhere. I could see this really working as a more fleshed-out title.

The Joy of Creationism with God Ross by AndideBob 2019-04-29T19:46:12Z

My story in the game was similar to the one by AntzTakeover: I wanted to debunk the age-old myth that humans are bad for the environment. So I only created humans (they're perfect, so why would you need anything else, right, bears aren't perfect). And I was RIGHT, this is the greatest planet ever, if I leave them to their own devices a little more, they'll have skyscrapers by tomorrow.

As you probably guessed, your game managed to do exactly what it set out to do: Present a canvas where players could experience their own stories. The frame story with God Ross worked incredibly well as a tutorial and for setting the mood. Huge props to the voice and art guy, he really made it work! Speaking of mood, same goes for the relaxing music that seemed to time perfectly with the planet's normal rotation. Incredibly good stuff, now if you'll excuse me, I have an anthropocentric empire to return to!

Moneyman and Pennyboy by CaptainDreamcast 2019-05-01T17:47:47Z

Yeah, I noticed the platform thing too, but I couldn't fix it in time. I also noticed it's the type of bug that appears when you least want it, like just before the end of the level. A very powerful bug, borderline Psycho Mantis in nature

Moneyman and Pennyboy by CaptainDreamcast 2019-05-05T11:06:19Z

@skoggy I'm sorry the Dreamcast version didn't load for you. I tested it on my Dreamcast, just redownloaded and burned to see if it still works and it still runs on my machine. It should show the modified license screen, then start the game. If it doesn't even show the license screen, I suppose something went wrong during burning. Otherwise, I can't say much, the huge advantage of console development is supposed to be that every machine is the same, so this is weird.

Sapling by Treeboater 2019-05-04T15:41:19Z

I clocked out at 73 turns and 324 tiles!

Loved the mood you created with this game, especially with the music that just goes perfectly along with it. The bird noises in the background add a lot of atmosphere too. You really nailed that relaxing nature feel, great job!

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-05-01T15:06:53Z

Haha, loved the ending.

Very charming game, the animations and the overall art direction were top-notch. The character movement and the sheep ragdolling added a lot of character to the game. Same goes for the music, a great package on the whole, really.

Bunny Powered Money Machine by rainfrogs 2019-05-01T15:40:09Z

119 was my high score, I personally disagree with the assessment that the game is over when the red balls start: From my perspective the primary objective of the game is not to dodge, but rather fill the gauge and collect the coins, so the final ~5 lives are the most important part. Just never stop moving and build that gauge.

I liked the sound design a lot in this, the effects stacking up really makes you feel like everything is getting more and more chaotic as lives go down. The art was very cute, the way the little life bunnies wiggle their ears is very charming. Overall a very neat game!

Rock, Paper Scissors: After (School) Hours Edition by SpliceDev 2019-05-01T15:22:56Z

I clocked out at 37 during my best try. 37.PNG

I can only agree with what previous comments said: This is the kind of game that keeps you playing again and again to improve and get a better score. Great interpretation of the theme too. Well done!

Kill The Money by Copper_Aardvark_Games 2019-05-04T16:14:55Z

Haha, made it to the final room! At first I thought the game would go on forever and made it my mission to get above 500 coins again. A very good take on the theme, not only how you can use your life to buy guns, but also how you have to balance money and your health. When I first noticed that reloading takes money (when I ran out of money and had to accept my fate), that added a whole new dimension to the game. Great idea and great execution, well done!

Collecting Really Nice Cats! by cheesepencil 2019-05-03T20:14:43Z

Yayy, yayyy, I did it, yayy!

Hilarious game, the sound effects and voice clips had me in stitches. Loved it.

MoneyChange by JoeyAsagiri 2019-05-01T11:52:49Z

My first run was 13 coins, after which I summoned all my inner greed, tried again and made it out with 27.

The game has a very nice arcade-like quality where you learn more about the early parts the more you play and want to keep coming back and improve your run. Like in the first horizontal line of rooms you instinctually use up like 5 coins on your first run when really you only need one, things like that. The art was cute and the game felt crisp to play, I had lots of fun with this one. And I will die on the hill that buying the doublejump for 15 coins is part of the optimal strategy. Either way, good job!

Underbello by Waldinx 2019-05-01T11:04:17Z

I did it, Bello is saved from eternal damnation until he jumps back on to the next sacrificial altar!

Very strong on the mood, the music and level design really pull you in. Very satisfying combat too, swinging at skeletons felt great. The bullet dodging was a nice touch, that made the boss fights more intense. Very cool, would save doggo again.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Empty Dungeon by Wevel 2019-10-07T20:31:55Z

I love the green glowing monitor effect too, I think that worked very well with the ascii-based graphics. Another thing that I found very well done was the sound design, with how the background tune only advances when you do something, I found that it made me try to play as fluid as possible to keep the tune going, that's a very cool effect. The game is very challenging too! I once made it until D characters appeared, but then the D got the better of me. That's very fun, it makes you want to try again and get farther ahead, a very satisfying gameplay cycle. Very well done!

I ain't got no body by WeaverDeveloper 2019-10-08T18:14:00Z

You write you had to rush things towards the end, but if that wasn't the best ending in the history of skeleton-gathering-its-body themed games, then I don't know.

So yeah, very fun game! The animations were lovely, not only the final one, which was pretty incredible, but I felt the other animations like the fingers moving or the way the head rolls in an uneven way had a lot of love put into them too! Same goes for the ~~cute~~ __spooky__ models, those are really of high quality. Gameplay was rock-solid too, it was very varied. My favorite part was the final boss fight, dodging the leaf attacks to the boss music was the best. The way it gradually (literally) built up to that part was a cool take on the theme, overall a very good skelegame!

Ball of Duty: Special Drops by LandoSystems 2019-10-12T12:52:22Z

Absolutely amazing! My final contraption made $270.000 in one go, I really enjoyed seeing it all unfold. The game runs well in the browser for me too. The placeholder sounds had me chuckling, like everyone said, the different sets of assets and effects added a nice sense of progression until the end. Super cool take on the theme, loved every second of it.

Coming from nothing by tinykidtoo 2019-10-17T21:20:07Z

Pew pew, survived a good couple of minutes before I blew myself up with a barrel and my trusty machine gun.

Very fun gameplay loop, I liked the rate at which enemies spawn in, it always felt like a good challenge, never overwhelming but also never too easy. It was also fun using the guns (or fist), the blood spray and destruction was super fun to watch, where you end up with tons of stuff lying around and a barrel explodes and and and- So yeah, all in all you made a very hype game, had a great time playing it!

Fan The Flames by diaonic 2019-10-09T20:23:39Z

Made it to day eight! After that I walked around the entire map and there was no wood lying around anymore and I had to burn my last chunk instead of making a new axe (I had no choice, the fire was almost out and I really wanted to see the next day). Found all three recipes too, finding them out was fun. Had a good time playing it, took me three tries to get a good flow going and I got really into it. Very immersive snowy world you crafted, great job!

Build Or Die by pkenney 2019-10-12T15:27:21Z

I too want to praise the mineral throwing mechanics in the main gameplay loop, those were very fun, felt like a 3000IQ genius when I figured that out. So yeah the core gameplay is very satisfying. Took me a couple tries to get the best strategy going, mine was to have two miners close to the mineral collection pad and one robot factory that constantly creates different robots. That did the boss in. Was fun figuring out the best way to optimize the flying cycle, I feel like that was the strongest part. Pixel art was on point too, both especially for the different robot units and enemies. All in all, I think you managed to make a very enjoyable game, well done!

Island of the Coconut Spirit by candlesan 2019-10-17T19:32:21Z

Yes, my great coconut empire with its obelisk in the middle will be thriving for years to come!

Very cool game. I think what I liked most was how every different way of gathering devotion was useful. Like usually you have one thing that is greatly more useful than others, but I always got a good chunk of devotion from blessings, offering pits and the pigs, that felt very balanced to me. Another thing I enjoyed greatly was how the little coconut islanders hopped around synched to the music, that was very mesmerizing to look at. And I also would like to praise the quest structuring, it was always clear what the goal was, and I think that's adds a lot of fun with games centered around building. All in all, a very good game!

Bereshit by p-r 2019-10-11T19:31:10Z

I won too! God saw all that he had made and it was very good, truly going from nothing to everything in this game. Yeah, felt very experimental, which I like. Everyone said it already, but those explosion effects were really top-tier. I liked the music too, it really got you into the mood of getting immersed in the game. Very stylish game, well done!

0 by blaster391 2019-10-10T21:22:18Z

Beautiful, I loved it. I can only echo the sentiments of the earlier comments, the way the music and the design progressed really added a lot to the overall presentation of the game. The ball puzzles worked great too, the one where you have to set the W/S balls had me trying out things for a while, it felt like there was some wiggle room for trying around and I love that in platformer puzzles. Very fun, I enjoyed every second of it.

Claimbeer by neowhoru 2019-10-17T21:45:45Z

Very beautiful game. The light effects and the overall art styles really made it look incredible. Took me a couple tries to reach the end, I originally kept missing the flippers. I thought the design of the rooms was neat, I liked that you had to pay attention to where you are, and made me feel like exploring a lot. The lighting helped with that too, for example in the room with the enemy in the pit at the bottom left, I immediately went to check that out after I got the bow, because there might have been a door there. Thought it was cool how the design aided the sense of exploration. Liked it a lot, well done!

The Tragic Tale of No Bones Jones by darefus 2019-10-26T13:28:17Z

During my first run I thought I'm gonna trick the doggo, what's the worst that can happen and that took a turn.

I got stuck at the snake/orc/butt lady too, the text gets stuck on "y-yes s- snake lady" and doesn't continue. Would love to replay it if you could fix that. So my comments here are exclusively graveyard dog centric. Once again I loved the writing, I laughed multiple times during playing, especially during the Jones/bone-stepper interactions in the woods and the beginning. And every time barking was involved. I think the two had great chemistry, it was the relatable buddy-skeleton drama I never knew I needed. Dog girl was very cute, I thought the art really shined at that point. Also liked how it played with some blur/color/funky background effects. All in all top stuff, hope you can fix the butt lady so I can kick around more bo- err, I mean help Jones become complete again.

Out Of Nothing by Toryf 2019-10-08T21:19:37Z

6646 here! I got super lucky with that run, I kept dodging stuff by pure instinct near the end.

Very action-packed game. You really managed to add a lot of tension by making it this quick-paced, and the framing of running away from the monster set the mood perfectly. And of course the sound design! The way it distorts based on how much you ran into things and finally twisting into that inverted nightmare version of the runner. Super cool idea and super cool execution!

Modular Mayhem by Dovakla 2019-10-11T22:48:31Z

I delivered a few shipments and now it says "Recovered shipments of invaders", is this the end or did something break for me?

Very beautiful game! The star effects were gorgeous! So were the attacks, both the rockets and lasers. The sound effects worked well with those as well, and knocking into the asteroids, they added a real oomph to that. Loved the space tune in the background as well, I thought that was really effective of setting the mood. Both fast and spacy at the same time. Had lots of fun collecting the shipments with this, cool entry!

Stickman Get Stuff by Barrier 2019-10-08T18:50:28Z

What a beautiful ending with a beautiful message. After reading the comments it also hit me how "nature doesn't care about our junk" plays into the enemies being nature, I didn't even notice that during gameplay. Lots of thought put into this one, very cool.

Monks Can Into Space by skill347 2019-10-11T21:07:07Z

Made it too 9700 points in my best run, though I'm unable to replicate it, my other attempts always clock out at around 7000. Had a good time playing it! Felt very fast-paced, it really kept the rhythm going between the different stages which kept tension and immersion high, that was very well done. The art and sound design was also adorable, like the notes, the text blops or the intro animation. Very polished and very fun game, well done!

Pimp my voxel by TheoG 2019-10-11T23:28:18Z

Haha, what a fun puzzle game! A really cool concept that worked incredibly well with the theme! My favorite puzzle was the second one with the river, it took me a couple tries to find the correct configuration to get over that (my approach was using the elevation with the yellow block to jump). What really impressed me was how varied the presentation was, every new level brought something unique to the table, first the outdoors level, then the giant level, they worked really well in the voxel style. Super fun game you made, liked it very much..

Bodyville by kr0s 2019-10-08T20:38:51Z

Ultimate pro gamer strat: guarding one cell structure while leaving the rest of the body to die. All that's left is one of my kidneys, but sweet victory is mine! Very smart take on the theme, cell division goes pretty well with it. The game design is solid as well, it took me a few tries to get going, but after that it went pretty swimmingly. Well-crafted atmosphere with the particle effects flying around and the music. All in all a great package, well done!

From Nothing by arkinrev 2019-10-08T21:02:39Z

Very atmospheric, I think you really nailed the mood on that one. Great job!

HUNTER HUNGER by oddarock 2019-10-12T13:08:44Z

Yay, I won! I think I did it by going left again and chewing up all the little guys I missed before. That was a super fun aspect though, going back and seeing that you really didn't go that far at all, at least for a 3 meter blob. Very innovative take on the theme, playing with space like that, I enjoyed that a lot. The art and sound were very well-done as well. All in all a very fun entry, great work!

itemless by NachtWitch 2019-10-09T18:13:11Z

I acquired the best item, built myself a little house and lived out my life in peace, or at least until I accidentally broke a wall and the shadow speeders got in.

Very fun game, you really managed to create an immersive atmosphere. I really lost myself in the cycle of gathering materials, building a base and fending off the shadow horde. Very enjoyable gameplay loop, great job on your entry!

Get A Job, Baby! by XeduR 2019-10-10T20:47:44Z

The lesson I took away here is to never, ever try gambling, it just puts you in debt and makes you lose all the money you made honorably at Wall Street.

Super funny game, I chuckled at every dialogue in the game. The mini games were cool too, my favorites were the gold digging and the Wall Street ones, I made mad dosh off them. Had a great time playing your game.

REWRITER by johjoh 2019-10-10T19:35:03Z

I am a hero, I will now get some rest. Or give feedback, I guess that works too. Only managed to beat it in Powertrip mode, but I did get to level 3 in normal mode until the green guys slammed me into oblivion. Super fun game, played dozens of rounds, I got really immersed into it. Very satisfying to play, the clearness of where attacks go on the grid really helped make it feel very fair when I got hit. Well designed and well polished game, great entry!

NoControl by simXple 2019-10-10T17:32:57Z

Wow, what a cool idea! Probably my favorite take on the theme I've seen this Ludum Dare yet, I like the meta approach. I agree with the previous comment that the main character was very cute! Bouncing around was super fun, especially after you get sprinting, you made that feel very fun. Great job on your game!

Murder On Peacock Street by Seabird 2019-10-10T18:45:10Z

Truman Cross was a true hard-boiled detective, I liked him the most. Very atmospheric murder mystery, I too thought the lighting was great in this, it worked really well, from the opening to the widow interrogation and finally to the final room. Very engaging story too, good luck with the game going forward, it's a solid foundation! Great job!

Big Brain Boy: An Intellectual Odyssey (now with GALAXY EDITION) by Alex Weiser 2019-10-11T20:00:48Z

I try to open big brain boy (BBB for short) for a big brain boy (BBB for short) like me and it says brainlet_simulator, tricked again. Got stuck at the green blob too. A shame, because I really loved this game. I was in tears during the neurons activated section with the computer. Truly whoever made this must have the most galaxiest of brains

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep IT alive - The daily struggle by Skosnowich 2020-04-23T22:35:52Z

Got a lucky run in where I was able to do everything. At some point tasks stopped coming in, so I felt that I earned that coffee feast. Incredibly fun take on the theme! I loved the setting and I loved the character blurbs when the characters didn't have a task for you, those added some nice personality (like Bill's tragic past). Gameplay was fun too, I liked the idea of dashing around costing energy, I felt like that provided a nice tradeoff between time/energy. All around a very good game, great job!

The Dumb Kid's Job by Yvanor 2020-04-22T17:42:54Z

#JuniorIsOk, I could perfectly identify with Juni- err I mean Boul. In general I loved the dialogue in this, I felt that Ann and Boul had great chemistry, let's hope they'll be fine even in today's job economy. The gameplay was fun too, I had fun picking off the targets tactically. I died once in the second map, and just barely managed to squeeze a 10%-health-left win in there during my next run, a true nailbiter, good job! A lot of good stuff you managed to pack in here, a really great entry!

Fuel Onward! by Drury 2020-04-21T19:46:32Z

Made it to the island, I now understand why the captain wanted to go fast (but not faster than fast), that ending felt like it added another layer to the theme, I liked that.

Overall the pacing was really good, you jump in, you shovel that coal, and right when you think, "I wonder if something else is going to happen", it gets rougher and things change up. Then when your coal is almost out, the rough times are over and the next step begins. I don't know if it was scripted to be that close or if I just had that perfectly nailbiting ending, but I enjoyed that a lot. As far as art goes, I liked the character design, with the crusty captain and the big steve jobs collar matey has going on. Also compliments to mysterious music guy, I think they captured that ship voyage over uncharted waters with a bit of kookiness thrown in well. So yeah, great game!

Space Ship E.V.E by silkworm_sweatshop 2020-04-26T15:49:55Z

Whoa, this took a turn I didn't expect! The writing was great, I was absolutely glued to the screen after the AI gained sentience. May Adam live long and his seed prosper.

Gameplay-wise I liked the management aspect of it and how it was paced. Oxygen as this constant looming threat, with food and asteroids thrown in during parts to make sure you are 100% occupied. I'd also like to praise how well you managed to connect gameplay and story, especially after the humans come in. Wonderful game all around, I loved every second of it!

Feed Pete by damagefilter 2020-04-23T19:10:12Z

Those are the cutest junkfood-eating-plant-hating enemies ever!

So yeah, I loved the style of it all, with the bright neighborhood and the bopping of everything in rhythm with the music. Which worked really well with the visuals, great job on the music too. Picking up tons of stuff and feeding it to Pete felt very satisfying, I loved picking up six items at once, dancing around the >:3 fellas and dunking them all on Pete. Amazing, well done!

Balloon Jump by Blueman 2020-04-20T20:38:02Z

My personal goal was to reach 100 points, and after a lot of hardcore training, wind analysis and balloon physics calculations, I managed to reach 119 points. Not quite the 307, but I hope I can keep that second place.

So yeah, this is a very nice arcade game, you jump in, you play, you jump in again, if it was on a real machine, I'd have lost quite a few quarters. What stood out to me was how well-polished it was, like the balance between powerups, wind appearance and I think even the platform placement. It always felt like a challenge, but also always possible to win. I thought that was cool. It also felt very satisfying to hit the balloon, I think because of both the physics and especially the sound effects, so good job tweaking those. All in all, great job!

Torchbearer of Love and Passion or something by CaptainDreamcast 2020-04-23T06:53:27Z

@730 I was unhappy with Unity's export-to-Dreamcast option, so I became an enginedev. The Dreamcast portion of my engine uses KallistiOS (https://github.com/KallistiOS/KallistiOS), which is probably still the most comprehensive Dreamcast homebrew library to date. I can't say for sure if the game works in an emulator, I always recommend burning it to a disc and trying it on real hardware. The different versions are pretty much the same, the Dreamcast version has lower-quality ogg files so the streaming doesn't get choppy, so I guess on PC I'd rather recommend the web version than an emulator. I did notice though that the install instructions where I usually add the how-to-burn-to-disc stuff were missing on the itch page, so I added those now.

Also thanks for the nice comments everyone! (Sadly can't stop toying with the Eiffel tower though)

The Flame by sebastianscaini 2020-04-22T22:10:02Z

Had to giggle at so many people sacrificing their campers in the comments, I did it too. "You don't find any wood, you become the wood", I thought that was pretty fair. And holy moly that ending, that was some seriously great stuff. Second (and third) time I "stood my ground" (which I assume is the victory), which I think really is a brilliant take on the theme. And a brilliant execution on top of that. The horror writing was on point, as well as the varied character design. All in all an amazing entry, great job!

The flame of life by taran.unraveler 2020-04-22T16:37:31Z

195, it took like 20 tries, but I wrestled it away. My heart is pounding here, near the end I was in that position where you're really hunched to get as close to the screen as possible. I really wanted to get to 200 but I'll take what I have, that last run was peak luck for me.

So yeah, very hype game, the feel of it felt very polished, I never felt that I lost because of the controls. There were different ways to play the game, especially after the 150 mark where things really get wild, that was great. I personally experimented with either staying in the middle, or sticking to the bottom (in the end I felt the middle strat worked better). The visual design felt very clear, I liked that even as a small flame you still had a chance to see the green emojis in time. Very good job on your entry!

Bun-o-gotchi by m110 2020-04-23T20:51:54Z

Red eggs were my favorite, I felt like they weren't as needy as the freezier guys. I was raising my little army, but I got too arrogant, and my house of cute Bun-o-gotchis collapsed as the third one reached maturity. Alas, lost but not forgotten.

Great take on the theme, the genre is obviously a perfect match. Another thing that stood out to me was the great art on the buns, I loved them. Wonderful game!

Sweet Resurrection by James Shipp 2020-04-23T23:52:29Z

A great take on the theme! I love the models, especially the ones at the potion table, those are some wonderful eyeballs. The different parts of (sweetly) resurrecting the creature added a nice sense of variety to the game, I thought that was more interesting than just one of the two. Great entry, well done!

Rock Raiser by SpliceDev 2020-04-20T17:39:37Z

I did it, Dwayne the 3rd became an adult and a respected member of rock society (I assume)!

Dwayne #1 died immediately after I spammed everything on him repeatedly, after that I figured out that you were supposed to listen what your rock wants, which I did with Dayne #2. But I must have missed a cry for petting, because like his predecessor, Dwayne #2 died of loneliness.

So yeah, I think the tamagotchi idea is great for the Ludum Dare theme, it really is the basically THE keep it alive game if you think about it, so great job there. I liked the sound effects too, I think they worked well in distinguishing actions and letting you know what your little Mr. Johnson wants. Another thing I liked was the variety in rock evolutions, Dwayne #2 turned into a big pyramid-esque chunkster, while Dwayne #3 went for mass over style. So yeah, very cool overall!

Bloody Fantastic by mikejzx 2020-04-23T19:38:24Z

My goal was 100 points, and I managed to reach it on the dot, using maximum concentration with those speed powerups. The game got very hype during when it got fast, I liked that a lot. The powerup system was pretty neat too, that added a good variety to the gameplay. All in all a great job, well done!

Doggo by D4rkWeasel 2020-04-26T14:43:23Z

I absolutely adore the sound effects, they add so much charm and humor to the game. Also that title screen was hilarious, love the doggo.

There was an interesting challenge added by the sheeps moving, in my case they tended to move into corners, where you have to take extra care of the wolves coming from that direction, that led to some dangerous moments for my little sheeps. Very fun game, great job (especially on also learning Blender during the timespan, that's amazing, I would have never guessed those were your first models/animations from looking at the game)!

Floyd's Fire by BinaryPrinciple 2020-04-20T21:53:05Z

I made it to the Nikki Shelter, which was 110 I think, before a blue ghost blocked my path with his 2 torch demand, while I only had one left. Now I guess there's one ghost more.

Very atmospheric game, especially the lighting and the design of the caves, they make you get really absorbed in moving around the ghosts. In later levels it seemed like ghosts were blocking the only path forward more and more, so they became a good challenge later on, where one had to balance the need to move forward and the need to collect flame, I thought that was neat. All in all very enjoyable, great job!

LifeForm by grug 2020-04-21T01:35:35Z

beautiful, a single tear is rolling down my cheek as the big alien head explodes

Yandere Emulator by 730 2020-04-22T20:38:45Z

I can't find the last ending for the life of me, I got the unarmed one, the good one (for the protagonist), the good one (for Ryouba), the one where you wait after almost making it and the I-cannot-physically-stop-myself-from-mashing-space-goodbye-my-beartrapless-face one. I thought waiting with the machete and going full revenge would be the last one, but that wasn't it either, I'm curious about that last ending.

As for the game itself, what stood out to me was the superb sound design: The mushy sound when the beartrap closes, the music during the quick-but-not-too-quick time events and the ambience. That's what really got me immersed. Art style was also very fitting, once again I liked the bear trap design the most. All around very good job!

BigFlow by Nivamdjo 2020-04-23T21:33:05Z

Excellent game! I liked the balance you had to keep up between the umbrella, the bee and the water. Took me a couple tries but I won! Very cool!

The Keeper by petrifiedapple 2020-04-22T19:41:43Z

The art is really impressive in this game, I especially love the painted glass in the background. The game also had a pretty good pacing, the way it kept adding enemies to keep that difficulty curve rising. It was very interesting trying to figure out ways to keep the guys from stepping on the switches. My favorite strategy was staying on the bottom half of the screen and only moving up if necessary, that worked well for me. Mood-wise, I think the music and especially the opening worked the most towards it. All in all, great entry!

Keep the Party Alive! by rrsmtz 2020-04-20T23:30:29Z

305 here, my ultimate strat was to keep the party barely alive with pizza, then blare everyone with stereos during the last 10 seconds to get that enthusiasm up. I bet there's other good strats too, I had a lot of fun trying different things and seeing what works and what doesn't. I also want to praise the controls, I loved how using the 1-4 keys I could focus on the game at all times. Very cool game, great job!

Firekeeper by Minrato2 2020-04-26T16:13:37Z

I made a giant fluffy friend and earned my firekeeper badge! And you really managed to capture the fluff! Loved all the graphics in this game, but the bear was my favorite.

The graphics also worked well in creating a great atmosphere. The boy scout with his little torch who always looked kinda worried, the illumination caused by the torch and the fire, all those really gave it a stuck in a dark world feeling (spoilers: which then gets broken through by the light near the firekeeper badge, the literal light at the end, that was a nice touch). The BGM was also great for this, it added a hint of mystery, I thought it was great. Gameplay-wise I thought the level was designed very well, I never felt lost, but still had a good time exploring for sticks. A great take on the theme!

Coconut Boat by Chase of Bass 2020-04-22T23:43:14Z

Made the small monsterboi into a giant 161-coconuts-filled monsterman, I've never been so proud.

The boat physics were fun, bomping on trees (+ the occasional thieving seagull) and hitting that perfect spin to feed the monster felt very satisfying. I also liked the bright art style, I felt that worked well with the tropical setting. All in all very fun, good job!

Worst Party Ever by AnarchoApathy 2020-04-21T00:47:26Z

Made a sweet mohawk dude and had my post-apocalyptic get-together. My final score clocked out at 175.464503, which I hope is good, because at one time there were so many party people in my appartment that they boxed me in and I could no longer move (they let me go after 20 seconds though, so it was a really minor thing (made me feel proud of my party though)). So yeah, it's a good take on the theme, and I liked the phone hub idea, the management aspect of the music especially. I had fun talking to the people and choosing music based on that (for my party, Bubbles and Rainbows was the clear favorite). Also thought the stylized art style went well with the theme and the generated characters. Had a hype time throwing the party, great job overall!

Across the Lake by stephan steinbach 2020-04-20T23:58:00Z

All those years of rhythm games paid off, my best "run" was 59 skips over a total distance of 172.8m. It really draws you in, you pretty much reach some stone-skipping zen state while playing it, aiming for those perfect bops. The graphics are really pretty as already mentioned, I especially love the nighttime, with the houses in the background, but I think my favorite part is the parallax on the lake with the small colored particles, that added a good feeling of speed to it. Sound-design-wise, the music also added to the zen thing, with its more mystical tone. And on top of all that, it also felt very smooth to play, with the reflection as a good indicator when to bop, and the sound effects guiding towards that perfect moment. So yeah, all-around a great job, well done!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Chronolings by edomiyamoto 2020-10-05T22:21:56Z

Managed to break the loop! It was a real nailbiter against the Chronolings, I built that final cannon just in time to scrape by with like a tenth of my life.

Had a lot of fun figuring out a good strategy. The only thing that took me a while to figure out was that new spaces to build only unlock after a little while. Graphics-wise it looks really cool, I love the detail on the Chonolings castle, and the cannon squares a lot, those look especially awesome. The music has that medieval battle flair, that went really well with it too. All in all a very good entry, great job on it!

BLOBIUS by chaoclypse 2020-10-06T00:25:55Z

Had a legendary run with a highscore of 53, the Blobius record books will remember this as the miracle of '20.

But yeah, it's a wonderful game. This would have been an arcade classic back in the day. What I liked most was slowly figuring out the personalities of the different blobs, like the green ones that always avoid you, the red ones that chase you and the purple ones that float around. My go-to-strat near the end was to have a couple of shots inside at all times to wipe out enemies with the power of stochastic probability. Sound design and graphics were amazing as well, you really nailed that arcade feeling with those, bullet time when a shot gets close was such a nice touch. All in all, super good, great job!

Cricetus Apparatus by Jima 2020-10-06T15:20:49Z

I did it, I maxed out my PC with that perfect 120/120 power generation by my motivated hamsters in their NASA wheels. A true rodents to riches story.

So yeah, very fun game. I especially want to praise the models of the game, those looked really amazing, especially the walking animations of the hamsters within their loops, I thought they expressed their emotions really well. The computer interface was well-done too, that felt very good too use. All in all a very fun take on the theme, good job!

Temporium by Untitled Studios 2020-10-05T21:56:05Z

A pleasing sound to please my human ears, the AI overlord that loves Mario music is too generous.

Absolutely loved this one, I was grinning the whole way through. The funny voice overs were great, they added so much charm to this game. The gameplay was great too, especially the puzzle where you have to multiply the dog food, that was my favorite. My run of that puzzle turned into a bit of chaos, I think in the end, I had eight characters frantically picking up and dropping dog food, that was lots of fun. So yeah, what a cool take on the theme, amazing job!

Save Her by Lestat 2020-10-05T15:27:04Z

Very beautiful game, a wonderful take on the message. That's definitely something everyone can relate to, being stuck in a loop reflecting on something after something bad happens. Your game really nailed the atmosphere on that, it's great.

I think the first thing I want to mention is the color, the mostly black and white palette really helped accentuate the important things with color (especially the red objects). I also really liked the scratchy (sorry if that's the wrong word) texture of the geometry in the town, that gave it a very picturebook-esque feeling. Finally, what really rounded up the atmosphere was the music piece, which added a very somber mood to it all. I think the ending worked well with the overall message, I think if you had shoehorned in a happy ending it may have undermined the overall message, so I think the ending you put in was a good call. All in all, great job, very well-done take on the theme!

Existence by Plutoneus 2020-10-05T18:09:11Z

Dayum, this ending got DEEP. Not sure what Mr. Sun is smiling about there but he was always a mysterious fella.

So yeah, I think the chalk art style is pretty cute, everything wobbling a bit really makes the world more dynamic, that's a neat effect. Gameplay-wise the little X was a nice touch so you know which element you're interacting with, that helped as some visual feedback, same for the audio cues when, for example, knocking on the walls. The music has a coming and going feel to it, I think that fit the theme well. Yeah, all in all good stuff, definitely a good take on the theme, I liked that a lot.

Looped by Barney25052 2020-10-05T23:19:29Z

Ha, that one stage where everyone got stuck where the solution was just ---SPOILER--- to walk to the left ---SPOILER END--- had me grinning once I figured it out, that one got me too the first time around. Managed to make it all the end after that, finished the loop so to say.

The idea is a really great fit for this theme! I love the little personality you gave to the actions, like the goal ring burping after sucking the player character in. Super fun game with great execution, good job on all fronts!

Candy Collector by Nikos 2020-10-05T16:02:13Z

Collected all the candy, no dentist can stop a determined person, or at least a determined person on a flying broom.

Talking about the broom, the gameplay felt awesome. The sound design was great, it was already mentioned above but yeah, the whoosh when moving around on the broom, that made it feel really good to try and fly around at high speeds. Also the bonking when hitting the walls. So yeah, really enjoyed making my way around collecting the candy. The marker was a good idea too, it especially helped with some of the more hidden houses, they were a good addition.

There is also nice attention to little details, my favorite was pushing the little pumpkin lanterns off cliffs. All in all a very good entry, great job!

Habits by M8rix 2020-10-06T13:00:08Z

A very delightful entry! Wonderful take on the theme, taking the everyday loop and turning it into a game like this. What I loved the most was finding all the hidden jokes by exploring the environment, my favorite was the sink and that other person's work computer, those were really good. The art style was cute, I think it went well with the type of game you were going for too. So yeah, great job!

L2020P by tpsy 2020-10-05T20:25:48Z

lmao, once I got it, I laughed really hard. This one really got me.

Like the commenters above said, it was a really hilarious and timely take on the theme, good job, love it. Let's hope we all make it out of that loop.

CUB by Loig 2020-10-06T18:14:58Z

Woooo that plot twist at the end, awesome! Truly stuck in a loop.

I had a few levels that I got stuck at for a while too, but figuring out the puzzle backwards like some of the other commenters mentioned already was a lot of fun. I also greatly enjoyed the new mechanics that were introduced, the boxes and the memory clearing spots, those really shuffled up the gameplay in fun ways. Like the one level with tons of memory wipes that basically turned it into a sliding ice puzzle type, I greatly enjoyed the creativity you put into making each puzzle feel unique and special and have its own kind of "twist". Something that hasn't been mentioned before in the comments that I also wanted to praise was the sound design, the rhythmic sound cues as C.U.B. MK.3 moved along its looping pattern created a nice rhythm that suited the theme well, I liked that. So yeah, great job on your game all around, had a wonderful time with it!

Looper by Play-Pause-Games 2020-10-06T02:43:49Z

I did it, I saved the timeline!

The exploration in this game was a lot of fun. Getting all the cards and having to manage your inventory as more space was taken up added a real organic sense of increasing difficulty. I also liked the notes scattered around the Sigma Labs, those added some nice lore and context to the game. And one thing I still want to praise is that final assault on the core room with all the hard enemies, that was awesome stuff! Great job!

GLASS CLEANER 2077 by 730 2020-10-06T01:11:39Z

Finally a game that appreciates the art, the artisanship behind cleaning glasses.

But yeah, the story was good. I liked the dynamic between Gil and Jill as well as Scarlet and Gil. The glass cleaning mechanic was well-chosen, it keeps the player busy without distracting too much from the story. The music choices were great too, they and the color palette really helped to create that perfect bar mood. Great job!

Looping Condor 3000 by Quinn_Patrick 2020-10-05T21:34:05Z

My final loop 1 score was 132989, I went with the Looping Condor. It felt very smooth to control, rushing around time discs to break the locks felt amazing, especially when going fast. I liked how the new things were slowly introduced, like the turrets or the shots cirling the time discs. I think the progression of difficulty felt good as well, later levels featured more closed spaces (or at least I felt that way) and had some fun bonus spaces for +1s, that was cool. So yeah, all in all, an amazing compo entry, great work!

Ejected by Fryer 2020-10-06T03:14:55Z

Made it back to the space station, barely survived with enough oxygen. What really made this victory possible was the realization that you can break satellites with rocks and avoid getting zapped that way.

Very fun gameplay, I enjoyed figuring out the optimal way to get around the asteroid field, using rocks and jumps tactically for maximum effect, that really gave the game a nice learning curve. Good job, well done!

Get out of the Traffic Circle! by APBakeWare 2020-10-06T16:52:14Z

Haha, yeah, after playing for a while the screen is moving on its own, like when you finish watching movie credits and the screen still seems to move.

But yeah, the game was a very fun arcade-y take on the theme. I enjoyed challenging myself again and again to try and get further in the loop. My favorite strat was using cones as intermediaries to push other cars away from the side (if only it was that simple in real life). The radio stations were a lot of fun too, that reminded me of titles like Outrun where you can also choose your music, that's always a great addition for car games. So yeah, great job on your game and great job learning Unity that quickly!

the sisyphean man by Anomay 2020-10-06T14:11:37Z

I could not escape the cycle of greed, my sysiphean man was crushed by the money as the music swelled.

The gameplay was super fun, I especially enjoyed how creative you got with the puzzles near the later stages, like the one where the wall only disappears after the five seconds have elapsed. I enjoyed trying different timings to get over the obstacles, I think that was a really strong point of your game, I liked that. The story was interesting too, I was invested in the desires of the protagonist. Very good game!

Debug.Loop! by Gironimo4 2020-10-05T19:09:32Z

My highscore is 2247, dodging those bugs like an olympic bug-dodger.

Very cool take on the theme, being stuck in that development loop and dodging those bugs is a feeling we all know very well. Graphics-wise, the color palette reminded me of those older Windows screensavers, that gave it a very computer-y feel. There was some cool stuff you can do that I discovered, for example, I once dodged a bug near the side of the floor by jumping and riding on the adjacent floor, I felt very cool doing that, I liked that. All in all great job on your entry, I had a good time playing it!

Endless Void by FireGamer3 2020-10-06T01:58:29Z

1359 here, I was rushed by a bunch of basketballs at the end and couldn't make it out without getting hooped.

Very fun game, the gameplay really went well with the theme. The looping items stacking up really added a very organic progression of difficulty to the game, I liked that a lot. I played the controller version, it felt very well to control with the second analog stick, good job on making that feel natural. All in all great entry, great job on that!

Loop Racer by Games_by_Tom 2020-10-06T16:22:14Z

Yeaaa, managed to complete all the levels! Once you figure out how lifting the car and changing the direction works and you get a good feel for the timers, it becomes really fun to go for the goals fast and come up with a good strategy for the levels. Definitely had a good learning curve feel to it. Very nice take on the theme, good job!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

10 Seconds To Avoid Death by jk5000 2022-10-03T20:42:49Z

I got away with $3270 too, it was on the millisecond for me, so I called it safe there and took the money. Originally wanted to end a round earlier, but the voice called me a coward if I did that, so I had to play another round, you know how it is.

But yeah, very fun voice acting, and very fun, intense gameplay! The 10 second accuracy and speed based gameplay had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Super fun all around. The choice to take the money or go on also added a strategic element to it, I enjoyed that. Great job!

Hiccups by cogcomp 2022-10-06T16:18:03Z

Wonderful introduction text and game, Ted (nefarious king of the pig trolls as he is known to his enemies) stood no chance from the beginning.

At first I played it with the space spamming, but I felt like it should be played sneeze-only so I did a sneeze-only run afterwards too, and it was super great fun! Tactically deciding which enemies you take out, which platforms you clear, which enemies become too dangerous once you leave them alone too long (double sped-up Ted was the truest of true nefarious menaces). I made it through with 11 lives left, but there were a couple of times were I felt like it could go either way. I thought this was a wonderful mix of tactical (almost turn-based) and platforming gameplay you found here! Great job at making something cool and unique of the theme!

Also Hiccups was very cute.

Pocko by ArnoChux 2022-10-03T15:58:23Z

I did it, Pocko got all of Cuko's eggs!

Very cute design of everything, I loved the way Pocko looked, the environment with the trees and the UI with the wiggling hourglass. The gameplay was fast-paced, which I enjoyed a lot, the 10-second levels forced very quick decision-making, that made it very fast and cool. I think the amount of lives was fair too, I needed a second run, but I can see someone squeezing through on their first run like this, I think it was well-balanced. All in all great job on this!

Sprawl: A cyberpunk interactive graphic novel by m11 2022-10-05T19:34:17Z

Ah, I made my way towards the bad ending at first, let's try that again. Ok, second time again, I can do this, I can do this, one more chance. >You were on the way towards... the good ending

At last, sweet (way towards) victory.

But yeah, super stylish, I think the generated art worked well for the type of cyberpunk game and the blurring of reality in the story it was going for. Very cool and innovative, wonderful job!

Incursion by Doccrazy 2022-10-03T14:57:37Z

Mission success! This took a couple tries, near the end I was speedrunning the anomalies, but the ship cleanup afterwards was always troublesome, there was always one ship that seemed to be flying towards me, taking me out.

Yeah, a very fun space shooter take on the theme. It looks extremely good, the asteroids, the ships and the anomaly effects, plus the sound effects are very well done. The gameplay felt good, reorienting yourself after the 10 second anomaly bursts kept it challenging (gotta get those out of the way first). Amazing work in 48 hours, really well done!

Watch Out by 100th_Coin 2022-10-04T12:01:20Z

11:21.78 here, the final puzzle was the best, even though it stumped me hard.

The graphics were very charming, cute and colorful. The little pout the protagonist has is very cute and adds a lot of personality. Music was amazing too, as many have pointed out, the acapella section was wonderful. Same for the voice acting, it gave so much life to the watch character, great job, especially since you wrote that this was your first time doing it. The gameplay was very fun too, finding the correct path through time, edging the clock trying to see what the adjacent 10-second blocks are. All in all an amazing game!

Dimension Clicker by Dr_V 2022-10-04T19:30:36Z

Haha, the text when you stayed past the Thanks for playing text was gold.

Very fun clicker take on the theme. I liked the sense of progression, it felt like the numbers increased exponentially, I had like 1000s of base elements near the end in the energy dimension, clicking on them felt extremely good. Very neatly designed, great job!

Destroy Blocks by mdotedot 2022-10-03T14:32:07Z

Y I P P I E My first two attempts were losses, I only came through on the third one. It was very engaging, I immediately restarted each time and was very immersed in getting those 10 rows. Very fun gameplay, would have been amazing to see it in multiplayer too. But great job either way!

Stand-Off by fusionnist 2022-10-03T20:17:51Z

I survived multiple standoffs, I have become the most feared frog/bottle/tall guy in the west.

Very stylish game, everything flowed together well, the art, the guitar music and the gameplay. Cute touches like being able to check your watch were great as well. Standoffs as a take on the theme was brilliant, it's the thing that makes you go "of course!". All around great job on the game, was very fun to play!

Quick to Judge by axelrinaldo 2022-10-03T19:47:37Z

Haha, the story was great, the end screen had me laughing out loud.

Very fun game concept, I think you incorporated the theme well. Keeping track of all the new laws and skimming the text to get all the important information against the clock became more and more challenging. I was very immersed and super-focused the whole way through. Great job on the game and the writing in particular!

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-03T19:25:18Z

Very cute game! Loved the little flavor text, especially when playing as the sheep. The SFX were also nice and powerful. Very charming. Great job!

Chromachron by RilleP 2022-10-07T19:32:05Z

Made it through with 205 coins at 37 cycles for a score of 273! I feel like I got most of the coins, but I also took a lot of cycles for some of the more puzzly sections.

I really loved this idea! The rgb interaction made for some neat puzzles, especially once the spiky wheels come in too, those added a lot of challenge, making it through with no wasted moves. The art style looks very stylish, it gives off that like a painting vibe, I thought it fit well with the gameplay. Very cool game here, well done!

Hero for 10 seconds by Swen 2022-10-07T10:18:00Z

22 high score here, then all you can eat ate me alive.

Very fun games all around! My favorites were bullet hell and avalanche. I think you put some good thought in the overall game design too, like how things you can touch are green and stuff you can't touch is red, that made it very fast to pick up new game modes, that helped a lot, that was great. I also thought the theme was incorporated well, the 10 second length made for a quick game loop, while still leaving enough place for challenge. Loved the music too, it had that hero go-getter attitude. All in all a great job, well done!

Baseball Kid & The Nightmare Dimension by Untitled Studios 2022-10-07T20:22:37Z

Finally, a protagonist you can identify with.

But yeah, I also got the McNuggets ending. Super fun especially with the shorter timer, I had some real nailbiters there. The one with the two enemies that take two hits and charge towards you and the six smaller enemies was an on-the-dot victory with no space left except for the trapdoor. Beautiful energetic gameplay. The art style also looks super charming and the music really draws you in as well. Great job all around!

Baseball of Max Stress by snesgaard 2022-10-07T15:39:36Z

187 here, this seems to be my peak, I think I can make it to Koshien with this.

Very fun game! It immediately made me want to try another run when finishing, I had a great time playing and aiming for a higher score. Art style is very expressive and works well too I think. Very well done!

Eat Jump Kill by Therstrum 2022-10-03T19:38:39Z

Ha, the snake game did me in, I got too greedy going after the edge pellets.

But what a fun concept and take on the theme. All three games played well and looked good. How the different games affected each other was my favorite part, like how the powerups for the spacecraft were collected in the jumping level, I thought that was cool. Amazing work!

DΓ©ka! by spyranteros 2022-10-07T04:55:41Z

Very cool take on the theme, I like this puzzle game a lot! I think it's really fun how the difficulty ramps up with more clocks, until you have four and tracking all the clock relations becomes super challenging, I think that's where the fun comes from. Great job, I found myself playing over and over again trying to beat it faster and more systematically, I had a lot of fun with this!

Crazy Beat Switcher by StoicKekis 2022-10-03T12:27:57Z

In my best run I got to 72721 and 180bpm before I got outgrooved by the arrows.

But yeah a super fun game, you can really feel a sense of progression playing multiple rounds after each other, getting more into the rhythm with every game and getting a feel for the different beats. Very cool idea and great implementation of it.

The book of time magic by Senso 2022-10-03T13:05:11Z

I leveled up all the way to level 4, which is already pretty high level for a magician. Bob really got quite powerful with all those 24 and 48 fire/ice spells.

The story was funny and I thought the voice acting was charming. The gameplay was a fun take on the theme. All around a very impressive entry.

it could be worse by Neollok 2022-10-03T13:21:01Z

Lots of great moments with this game, my favorite one was when I was making my way through a wall of enemies, just barely hanging on moving through this mass of enemies dodging the flying enemies' projectiles and then it said "fire rate reduced". Beautiful, always keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting, really a superb take on tying the theme into gameplay. I also found it very stylish, my example would be the world shrinking, that always gave a sense of dread, this was really effective. Great entry.

Every 10 seconds, mother comes in by lustdante 2022-10-06T16:58:47Z

B+ and the sword, I am a made man in both the RPG and the learning world (although the slightly disappointed mother slightly disagrees).

What a wonderful idea for the theme. Very cute game people can identify with. The art style fit perfectly, and the game loop was very exciting, especially after the timer disappeared. Squeezing out that extra second even with the risk. Immediately had to try again after losing to try if another strategy works, that's the mark of a great game, well done!

ROSWELL AREA β–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆ WASTE DISPOSAL, INC. by Real_Human_1000 2022-10-06T15:55:49Z

Very fun game! I had a lot of fun finding optimal survival strategies using different box configurations. The patented double-acid and double-conveyor strategy was the one that allowed me to survive the longest. Clicking on plastic and other boxes and letting the rest take care of itself.

I think it's the type of game where everything can find a different approach for themselves and I like that a lot. The take on the theme was good as well, I think you incorporated the 10 seconds well, that went well for the wave duration. The only collision bug I saw was that boxes sometimes make it through the initial conveyor belt, but I just considered that part of the channel and added some acid under there. Had a great time with this, well done!

Lights Out by niccolo-temperanza 2022-10-05T20:21:52Z

Woah, very effective ending, that looked very cool and caught me offguard.

Very fun take on the theme! I think the 10 second time limit on the light side made for some good speedy gameplay while also adding a strategical element, where to switch. Some very neat platforming puzzles in here. The effects of the dark world looked super good, those platforms helped with that otherworldly mood, I liked that a lot. I thought the mood was very strong in this, especially during the darkness. All in all great job!

LD52 — Harvest

Bubble Rancher by recursor 2023-01-10T23:44:15Z

I really love the game mechanics! Really makes you consider every move and keeps you very focused and immersed in the gameplay. I found myself multiple times holding my breath just barely squeezing a bubble (and myself) past spikes. Those were the really amazing moments, I loved those. Very cool game!

Maize Runner by miltage 2023-01-09T17:23:06Z

The applause was such a great touch, I love it.

Also love the rest of the game, super cool take on the theme, models/animations all look beautiful with a very good-looking art style and the sound design (as already mentioned above too) is amazing. Love the sounds when the fences etc are harvested by Jim. The framing story is also very funny, that made me laugh. Great job all around, well done!

Harvest Tataki - Whac-a-carrot by caranha 2023-01-09T12:48:33Z

My high score was 56, I played it very safe there, the sun going down ended me instead of the rabbits:

56.PNG

Super fun and addictive entry, I always had to immediately retry to get a better high score. It really gets you invested in the strategy of things (Do I play it safe? Do I risk going a bit wilder with the inputs even if that means maybe hitting a rabbit near the end?). Design of everything is super tight, the rabbit heads jumping around are cute, the sun visualization in the background is stylish and clear to understand as a timer, same with the clear visualization of how the game works with the arrow key input, and of course the carrot counter for the points, all around superb. Wonderful job!

Flowers in C by imyellowfish 2023-01-09T16:51:30Z

Very cute game about the lifecycle of flowers, growing and passing on seeds! Music was great too, how it slowly built up over the course of the game. All in all very comfy experience, great entry!

The Bountiful by 100th_Coin 2023-01-25T02:51:41Z

I think we can all agree the neighbor provoked it. Ultimately, 13 was my high score on my second run. The girl near the harvest festival where you can't hit with your shovel was close enough to the street that the swing motion could still get her, that's the secret Bountiful lore you need to know to get that 13th kill.

But yeah, what an amazing game. The voice acting is top-notch and the writing is super funny. Gameplay felt very tight, everything had proper feedback, hitting stuff feels amazing. Of course hitting people feels best, with the tint change and everything, but hitting fences etc with the explosions and the sound effects stood really out to me as well. I also loved the attention to detail, the additions like the voice line when you kill the neighbor before you actually have to. Everything feels super polished. Amazing all around.

Pachinko Farm by Vony256 2023-01-09T13:23:29Z

I got the hang of it after a while, I got through a couple of levels before I unfortunately dropped the farmer too many times. Very fun gameplay loop! There's just something inherently satisfying about seeing pachinko balls/and or farmers fly around. I think the sfx were great here at getting that right pachinko feel across too. Collecting the falling vegetables was a good idea to keep the player invested more than just looking at it while the ball/farmer does its thing. I liked this a lot, great job!

Harvest Reaper by Oliver 2023-01-09T20:44:22Z

22/22 and 22/22, the archers' persistence even in death almost ended my run but I made it through.

Very fun take on the theme, splitting it up into the killing and the harvesting. Felt very good to control, I always felt that I was in control and it was my fault when I lost health. I liked the 8 bit pixel art style, I think that worked well here. All the animations were fluid and I especially liked the sound effects, the one for scared villagers was the best, great job on that! Very well done!

Picker's Paradise by Phlip45 2023-01-10T17:27:58Z

Like I commented on the other linked game, one of the most creative ideas I've seen in a long time linking two games together like this. Super funny item descriptions in this, always made me laugh out loud, the toy story game console was my favorite. Also want to point out that the storage unit minigame music was an absolute banger (that was ultimately the minigame I played the most, I felt I was getting more expensive items if I did well in that).

Inside by CaptainDreamcast 2023-01-09T12:31:35Z

@pe7e Carrots were planned, carrots were the one throughline through every iteration, carrots are the key to it all. Other than that cabbage (queen of the vegetables, really), potatoes (I assume they're lazy, like couch potatoes), and finally an unfunny joke option that's not really a plant, I don't want to spoil the climax of this game but it was a similar take on harvesting to the one in the ending to this game.

But it wasn't really all that fun and kinda too similar to a previous Ludum Dare entry I did, so I pivoted away from that.

Shoo! by Lex 2023-01-10T17:46:47Z

That final level man, what an onslaught, that was the hypest scarecrow moment. I made it through though, the farm survived, all fields above the thresholds.

Yeah, I got very invested in the well-being of my farm, I dashed around like a man possessed, no mice or crows got any inch of land. The shoos made it very immersive and responsive too, it felt very enjoyable to break up a group of crows and mice. I thought the art worked well with it too, the mice animations when they're scuttering around and the crows flying above the field, it really draws you in. All in all really great job on this!

Let's get this bread by Antsa 2023-01-09T13:03:36Z

Laughed a lot during the saltynator 5000 and the falling water parts. Super funny, I'm glad I could enjoy my various forms of bread after achieving it.

The Night Harvest by Matank 2023-01-13T23:00:56Z

Aww, what a cute ending! Very lovely game. Sound, art, story and gameplay really came well together here to create something special. Figuring out the safe spots from the trap and managing which crops to leave for a bigger energy bonus down the road was fun to experiment around with, the bottom-left-and-top-right strat (registered trademarked name) was my favorite. Wonderful job on your game, well done!

Veggies slayer by ukirain 2023-01-10T17:00:22Z

Absolutely gorgeous game! The animations of the enemies are really breathtaking, absolutely amazing!

Unfortunately I kept getting memory acess out of bounds errors on the carrot boss, so I could not progress further (I hope I did not miss too much there). I also got an error whenever I defeated an enemy with trick, some InvalidOperationException on an enumeration, but I managed to work around that since that only freezes the game when there are enemies left, as long as you get that exception on the final enemy the game can still progress. Figuring out the rock-paper-scissors and the enemy behavior was very fun! Once I got the hang of what each enemy does, the gameplay felt very natural to me and I managed to reach the carrot boss a couple of times. This is an amazing looking and very fun game you made, great job!

You Versus The World by Echo GameWorks 2023-01-16T22:31:50Z

I managed to beat the world too on my second try, on the first try the world got me, I couldn't get that one bonsai enough water and the world took it all. I liked the gameplay loop and the stat management of this game a lot, the tactical aspect of trying to maximize the gain from each card based on which trees are on the field, and tradeoffs when you have to take a small hit on one tree to harvest others, I liked those, I had some hype moments there in level 6 where things just perfectly worked out. Very fun, I got incredibly immersed and drawn in while picking out cards, always immediately went into the next round too to stay in that flow. Very cool take on the theme, great job making this game!

The Cursed Vest of Soul Harvesting by Frogravity 2023-01-12T22:10:52Z

I managed to kill Sal too, once I had his pattern down and managed to keep track of all the skeletons he spawned moving around I got him!

Loved the puzzles in this! Solving them felt really rewarding, my favorite was the penultimate level with the golems, I felt so clever once I figured out a route that worked. Smart design on everything, the way you introduced the enemy types made it easy to understand how they all work immediately. The face designs were also great, my favorite there was the imp, the fangs are super cute. Sound effects for all the different enemies gave them so much character, the golem death and hit noises were the best. Awesome game, great job!

The Soul Harvester by AdamWatters 2023-01-09T17:53:31Z

I liked this game a lot! Made it all the way to the end too and visited all the rooms (unless there's hidden ones I missed). I liked how the abilities were introduced, all the abilities you unlock had their own little dedicated place directly next to them where you got to try them out, so I immediately figured out how to use them. Well-designed metroidvania take on the theme, great job!

The Marketer's Dream by cukeds 2023-01-10T17:24:44Z

I did it, I earned Chicky's eternal love and affection!

Very funny game, I loved every second of it! The voice acting was super funny and the visitors had a lot of character (shoutout to Bob "Baby" Moneybags who would absolutely not fall for my reverse psychology mind tricks). It's been mentioned above, but the idea of linking two games together like this was creally creative, definitely a one-of-a-kind ludum dare idea, great job on that!

Noxious Harvest by Pe7e 2023-01-09T12:20:33Z

I did it, I saved the guild of alchemists and their moon shade with my artificier skills!

I thought movement worked fine, it all worked for me, I never felt hindered by the input and got everywhere I wanted. What really impressed me was the amazing modeling and texturing, everything looked super neat in the game (shout out to the skullshade field, which still took me by surprise even though it was in the intro text). Thought that was a cool effect that you added the animation of the machine collecting them to the game, that was a cool touch. I also enjoyed the sense of progression with the different areas slowly opening up, I thought that helped with finding the different gears and bars in a very organic way. All in all a great entry, well done!

Stealth Organ Harvest by SharpLoaded 2023-01-10T18:43:16Z

Made it through all levels with killing everybody, I went for the genocide run. Level 4 was the best, that was a well-choreographed song and dance through all of that for me.

You put a lot of fun mechanics into this game, the slowly building suspicion tension that gives you a fighting chance even if you get caught, being able to run away successfully (especially useful in level 5) and even baiting enemies with corpses. That large amount of stealth variety added a lot of replay value, I went through a lot of runs in level 5 going through different options to beat it. I think you perfectly hit that feeling that makes good stealth games with this. Super fun game, well done!

Wheater of the Colossus by GCake 2023-01-09T17:34:32Z

Playing shadow of the colossus music while playing this hits perfectly.

Very fun idea to use the wheat for climbing energy, kinda gave you more of a reason to go down again, unlike a stamina meter. Had a good time climbing around the colossus, well done!

Poo Farmer by Pyspher9 2023-01-14T21:22:50Z

Love the feel of the poo railgun, it's super fun during later stages with hundreds of goblins to stand in front of your silo and just noscope half a dozen of them out of existence. In fact most weapons felt satisfying to use, you can really pick any weapon and have a blast, so great job on that weapon design.

Graphics and sound worked perfectly with the gameplay, the animal and poo noises were a great addition, I felt they added a lot of liveliness to the farm. I think the 8bit graphics made everything very charming, same with the music. Just gives you those comfy farm vibes. All around great game, well done!

Reap by Ipsl0re 2023-01-10T17:54:55Z

127 was my max here, I tried different strats, but the move-in-a-circle while adjusting the scythe to point outwards strategy was my most successful one. Very fun gameplay loop, it has that arcade feeling where you just want to jump in again, try one more time to get a higher high score. Very addicting. Very well done!

TanksGiving by Zonoxx 2023-01-09T13:40:14Z

I made it into double harvest time and racked up a good score. But double the blue turkeys proved fatal, they cornered me after a while and that was my demise.

double harvest time.PNG

Very fun entry, it's's satisfying to just roam around on a patch of wheat and collect them all. The turkeys prove a reasonable challenge too, mostly the blue targeting ones. The voice clips added a lot of style, I liked those. All in all great job on your game!

Eon Reaper by Kelvin Mulungu 2023-01-09T18:37:52Z

Super stylish game. Made it to being harvested myself. The one time I got really stuck was dimension 5, I should have paid more attention to the hint.

Super fun puzzles, figuring out the intended solution was always enjoyable and it always felt fair. Music fits well with the space theme and is very good. Same for the visuals with the protagonist being some form of energy. Those are some great shaders you are using in your game. Superb job on your entry, well done!

Iris's Scrappy Rumble by ScolonDev 2023-01-09T20:25:29Z

My best run was 16784, I feel I got the hang of it now, combine stuff into useful weapons when there are few items lying around and fire junk as fast as possible when the screen is cluttered, that was my final go-to strategy.

From the title screen with the cute main character I loved this game. Very polished presentation, beautiful art and music and a very addicting fast-paced gameplay loop. Every time you finish a round you immediately have to start playing again to get an even better score. Really amazing all around, great job!

Harvest As Usual by LeoAtopos 2023-01-09T17:16:37Z

Interesting entry, it definitely felt like it had something to say. I'm still missing one of the bad endings (I assume there's one where you don't have enough money to survive the winter, but I can't seem to get it to happen for me) and the true ending. I did manage to get the normal ending with all family members (warlord membership nonwithstanding) once though, that was my crowning achievment. Very cool idea for the theme, great job on your game!

Big Veggies by Raphytator 2023-01-09T18:19:22Z

I got her the car, and of course the level 21 upgraded tomato pump.

Very fun clicker game. I mostly stuck with the pump upgrades and made it through it with raw clicking power, also added some workers for the occasional pump-bump. The music went well with it and the framing story was hilarious. Very cool take on the theme, well done!

LD53 — Delivery

β–²β—β– β™š by Jimbly 2023-05-12T23:44:12Z

Super fun and engaging game! I wanted to link ALL crown output nodes in the introductory level, I started by unlocking all nodes in order, the blue locked ones, then green, then orange, red and finally pink, then I tried linking all the crown output nodes and work from there. It didn't quite work out, there were some crossings which made linking all crown output nodes actively at the same time impossible, but I greatly enjoyed figuring out different ways and strategies to connect nodes, the adventure was the prize. An incredibly immersive game that is very satisfying to play, it's super easy to get into that flow moment where you're totally in the game. Boosting connections by placing additional delivery connections and just seeing the packages zoom by is also super fun, I have to mention that, that was a great addition. Amazing game you made, great job!

Twisted Pedal by Samuli 2023-05-15T20:06:14Z

I did it, I managed to get all the upgrades, I became a machine bent on tomato destruction.

But yeah, the fully upgraded bike feels awesome, just racing through the sea of tomatoes in the middle and squashing them feels awesome. I loved the randomization of the power ups, that made every run of the game unique. Also regarding the game loop, I felt it had a good arcade feel to it where you immediately want to jump in again once you've finished the round. The sound effects when squishing the tomatoes are fun, that also makes it satisfying to squash them. Very fun game, I had a good time playing it. Great job!

Space Docker by Wahooney 2023-05-03T21:15:59Z

Very fun game! I experimented a bit with what the optimal strat would be to get a maximum amount of points. My first go-to strat was throwing boxes across the room, but that resulted in a lot of lost, and sometimes even misplaced boxes, in one level I lost so many that I got -200 points, after that I changed my strat. In the end it was "manually" placing the boxes one-by-one that worked out best for me, I got some good scores with that in the final levels. I think you had a good "decision space" going there where you have to choose between speed with package tossing and carefully placing, I feel that was a neat challenge you designed in making players choose between safe and dangerous gameplay with the time limit and the point penalties. The art had a good space mood to it, I also liked the jet pack, its sounds and controls in that regard, I feel that really added a lot to that "space feel", that was a great addition. All around very well done, great job!

The Deliverer by automatonvx 2023-05-15T19:16:20Z

That was intense! Got killed during level 3 a couple of time but once I figured out how much of a priority getting a gun needs to be, I managed to beat it and got my revenge on all the zombies! The uzi/machine gun was a nice help too. Just mowing them down! Felt super good to play, it felt very satisfying to mow down zombies. I also felt there was a nice rhythm to it, both with the crowbar and the gun, it felt like a careful dance. The different varieties of zombies helped shake things up, those were great. Very well-designed game, great job!

Scooter Mania by daandruff 2023-05-02T15:27:21Z

Absolutely loved this, the feeling of the scooter going super fast while you're just barely hanging on and the package placing becoming almost a rhythm game as you try to match the center worked together incredibly well. The highest score I got was 5700, at that point it was like the sixth or seventh traveling, I had become speed (and the logs too numerous).

5700.PNG

My strat was too always jump just in front of a log since you have a good chance to also make it over more than just log in the later levels, that got me pretty far. Art looks amazing too. Like mentioned above already, gameplay felt incredibly satisfying, the oomph of the jumps and the packing especially. The music is an absolute banger too, great work on that! All around awesome entry, great job!

Mailman Murphy by silkworm_sweatshop 2023-05-02T10:51:26Z

Whoa, those last few levels were wild! I really thought I could make it through without continues, but one of the dogs cut my hopes short. The tension was real since I didn't know if there were continues or not. So yeah, super fun and intense NES-style platformer. Graphics, art and gameplay were all very polished and fit together perfectly. If this had come out back then this would have totally been a popular NES or arcade platformer. Loved the randomization on the mail types too, with either colors, numbers or letters, that kept it challenging and kept me on my toes. Awesome job all around, well done!

Inbox Fool by 100th_Coin 2023-05-01T14:37:42Z

What can I say, I have always been a single-issue voter and acid prices are that issue, so yeah, the S man has my vote.

Incredibly funny writing, I loved the overall voice acting and of course especially the boss fight song (complete with its button to play it again on the results screen, perfect). The art style went along great with this type of writing, I remember actively thinking during one of the levels just how perfectly fitting along every piece of it is. Same with the music really, I only noticed on my second playthrough (to get some acid vat dialog I accidentally missed) that the boss music and the level music have the same theme at least partially, whoa. The puzzles included a great combination of platforming and thinking about where to move the platforms. The tutorial was excellent, especially the part about moving the camera and the background being marked where to move it, immediately intuitive. Amazing job all around, really well done!

Easter Panic! by Oradimi 2023-05-02T14:44:26Z

The passersby are super cute! I love the upbeat art, also with the hearts in the corner beating to the beat, I thought that everything looked really good.

My highest score was 610, my final strat was to prioritize the people going up and down, since they had shorter routes, as well as click on eggs on the conveyor belt so they stop so I always have a good stash of eggs to choose from in case of an egg emergency. Very intense gameplay loop! It really heats up towards the egg with the passersby zapping across the screen and close encounters when dropping an egg on someone that was already halfway off the screen, I loved those exciting moments. Very arcade-y where you immediately want to jump back in again to try and beat your score. Great job on your game, well done!

Delivery by TasakaSama 2023-05-01T17:34:51Z

I got to 28 packages before an array of customers wanting flowers ended my run, but it was ok, most of my reserves had already been used up, I think this was a relatively good score.

28 packages.PNG

It definitely felt like there were multiple stages to the game, the part where you bolster your reserves (the placement area where you can place packages yourself for later was a superb addition, great idea, that helped a lot!) when there's still few people coming in and you only need the occasional object, then the medium stage where you kinda have to start properly balancing the customers and the packages and then the final stage where your reserves are slowly twindling (but you rack up the score in exchange!). Lots of fun! The scanner/placement area adds a cool second layer to the deliver-thing-to-customer formula. Plus since you place the packages manually into their area you give some room for surprises, like misplacing a shovel as a diamond and making a customer mad. At that moment I had truly felt the postal worker experience.

Had a lot of fun moments with the game, great job!

Porch Protectors by macs 2023-05-06T12:01:30Z

Borzooooooooos!

Loved the story of the game, I always made sure to talk to everyone and get the special energy gum. The art style was cute and energetic, I loved the looks of it all. Felt superb to play too, the porch pirates being captured and flown away by the drone felt very enjoyable. And it got very intense near the end when you had multiple flashing warning signs and have to pick out all the pirates between the crowd before it is too late. Amazing job, well done!

Bad News Inc. by Frogravity 2023-05-02T13:19:56Z

Awesome writing! Was constantly laughing at the funny deliveries by Palla, Luke and Flake. I had a lucky streak and picked all the right messengers on my first attempt, but I loved the writing so much I went through all the routes and listened to the death/alternate messengers as well. Super awesome how much writing and voicing you managed to put in here. Loved the art and the portraits too, all the characters had such unique designs to go along with their personalities and expressive emotions for when they got angry. Creative and hilarious take on the theme, great game!

Legal_Transactions.bat by johjoh 2023-05-02T21:50:10Z

My highest score was 652820 points before the enemy bases overpowered me. My best strategy was using clusters, focusing all resources on capturing one company, then breaking off the connections and having the two original bases focus all their resources on capturing new bases, for that sweet sweet capture bonus. Not sure if that was the optimal strategy since I also seemed to block myself off from being able to attack enemy bases sometimes, but it felt pretty good, so I rolled with it. Another help was that even if an enemy attacks, I could spawn a bike inside the base to repel the invader without losing health. That's the Legal_Transactions.bat deep strat lore that all Legal_Transactions.bat highscorers like myself need to know by heart.

But yeah, I really really liked the gameplay, I had a great time trying out different strategies, I think the building blocks of the gameplay (the tron/snake base, paths blocking off stuff, the different bike speeds etc) all meshed together and were balanced well and led to fun gameplay situations where you have to weigh a lot of things. Art and audio fit excellently as well, you really captured that retro cyber feel with the neon colors and everything, the retro file manager menu was a great touch too. Wonderful game and take on the theme, you did an amazing job here!

Deliverance : SOUL REAPER by Nick Baggett 2023-05-03T18:34:25Z

Whoa, super cool aesthetics in this game! The gun animation, the effects when shooting souls and the slow-motion effect all look amazing! Aesthetics-wise, it reminded me a lot of Shadow Man, which I consider to be one of the games with the greatest mood and atmosphere of all time. Kudos for creating something that feels so good! I loved the gameplay a lot, I'm not a very good speedrunner, so I never broke the 1:20 time mark, but I greatly enjoyed shaving down my original four minutes time by figuring out better shot positions and routes that let me skip parts of the level or shaving off time by just zooming around with jumps. That beautiful feeling when you figured out a way to completely avoid taking the left door, magnificent, that's a great feeling you managed to create here. The addition of making jumps faster feels like a really smart addition for a speedrun game too, because then you have that tradeoff between that jump risk and the speed. You made some really awesome design choices here, great game and great job!

Pizza Xpress by PerfectSquare 2023-05-01T16:51:31Z

770 was my best score, that was a super solid run, I just went pizza pizza pizza and sometimes there were even houses next to each other, it was a very lucky run overall.

Super fun arcade-style game! I got really into it trying to find more shortcuts, I think that taking damage reducing points also added a new interesting dimension to it since you can't just skip from park street to elm street without carefully maneuvering through the houses. Had a lot of fun with this, great job!

Crazy Baby Delivery by pauvictor 2023-05-01T21:06:05Z

What a fun take on the theme! During my first attempts I only managed to deliver 18 babies, but the second time around, with the knowledge of the keeping-mothers-in-some-bed strats I got above 20 like I wanted.

The distance between beds and cribs was perfect, you always had to stay on your toes to make sure you have all four beds under control, there were some nailbiter moments with the outer beds, that made gameplay very exciting. The art when the mothers are getting more and more angry was super funny too. Great job on this game!

Don't Stranding by nekowei 2023-05-02T15:10:00Z

Curing the world, then sailing off into the horizon, the perfect ending.

I liked the way the boat controlled, I found it very responsive, which was great especially when navigating from the green to the purple lighthouse and its reef dangers along the way, squeezing through those gaps felt awesome. When I hit something I felt like it was my fault and not the controls, you really got the controls just right, great job on that! Plus the speed and rotation upgrades make it such a joy to zip around! Really feels amazing. Also the secrets were a nice touch, I just had to collect them after seeing the first one next to the yellow lighthouse. Very cool game, well done!

Power Delivery by SharpLoaded 2023-05-02T10:21:28Z

I did it, I created a coal empire that generated enough energy for everyone!

Super fun game, I got really into it, unlocking more energy sources via research, figuring out good ways to best utilize space and transfer power all felt great. I also enjoyed how there were multiple ways to success, like you could use either energy type dominantly, it didn't feel like I had to depend on one, I enjoyed the freedom in that. The type of gameplay you can't put down until you've beat the game, great entry!

AIRmazon Delivery by diharaw94 2023-05-06T11:29:56Z

I did it! I delivered all packages! My initial strategy was cyan->red->green but that never worked out, I think my final route was cyan->blue->green->yellow->red, taking longer routes and avoiding the rocks floating in the sky. Super fun game! I had a lot of fun learning the controls of the airship and figuring out a strategy that lets me deliver all the boxes, keeping up the furnace and not crash. My strat was to adjust the rudder and altitude to be on the right course, then throw the package, then get the furnace back up to 100% and repeat. That worked out pretty well in the end! Everything looked superb in the game, the ship, the islands with the towns on them, it all added a lot to the "feel" of steering that giant airship through the sky. You really captured that feeling of being in charge of a massive vessel well, that felt very intense and fun. The funny voiceovers also added a lot of personality to the main character, those were a great addition! All around super well-done game, great job!

Delivery by jakeblake 2023-05-01T15:11:13Z

Sweet, my personal goal was 20000 points and I managed to reach it after a couple tries:

delivery hi score.PNG

I was trying to find a good strategy, and what I finally went with was "He who controls medkits and tanks controls the war", as those two seemed to give the most amount of points, at least by how it felt to me. Of course medkits are the slowest and tanks are the fastest, making watching both of them at the same time a pretty fun challenge. I squandered a couple tanks and didn't think it would still be enough in my 20000+ run but I barely squeezed through.

So yeah, very fun gameloop, like I wrote, it's the type of game where you want to try again and again to find a strategy that works better to get more points. The different movement speeds of the trucks and the packages as well as the package count restrictions and the point system that also awards points for leftover packages resulted in a nice system where you can try a lot of different things to check what gives a lot of points. Very well-designed game, great job!

The Mailman by Castitatis 2023-05-01T16:23:24Z

lol, the frame story got a good laugh out of me. Hang in there mailman, hang in there.

I never managed to completely defeat everyone on the street, but I got really close. My final superstrat was to block near a scooter, draw them in until everyone was there and then run them all over. That worked extremely well! The combat feels very good in this game, the animation when throwing mail, scooter knocking them all out, that all feels super fun. The animations are very expressive and cute too, especially the dogs. All in all a great beat'em up! Very well done!

The Beer Street by Kreshi 2023-05-02T16:15:52Z

Haha, fun game! Made it through all the levels, I loved how intense the later levels got, starting with level 3 I got a lot of intense nailbiter moments (especially level 3, that one was my favorite, I just barely pulled through with a pixel-perfect jump). Great take on the theme and turning being a waiter into a game! I really really liked the audio design where you could use the audio cues to determine how dangerous the current shaking is, that was a great addition. Very cool game!

Irresponsible deliveries by Rezioz 2023-05-06T12:51:13Z

Haha, super funny game, I loved how the pedestrians ragdolled around. My best strategy was to just go for broke and try to dodge the policemen's grenades, I got pretty high with that, until a lucky grenade did me in. It felt like a very intense arcade-style game with the quick timers and the fast-paced action, great job with this game!

Porker Pig the Postal Pilot by NaNixDev 2023-05-01T17:59:50Z

I delivered them all too! My time was a little above seven minutes, a little longer than above, I needed a couple spins to get the rings on top of the ice mountain and the volcano.

Super fun plane movement! Just flying around feels super fun, spinning, turning, trying different camera modes, just movement itself feels super satisfying! The area is fun to explore too, felt like most of the drop-off points had a little landmark next to them, like the city or the volcano, I thought those all looked cool and added some context for the dropoff points. Great job all around!

Canyon Dash by RandomPickle13 2023-05-01T18:38:47Z

During my first run, I figured out the same strategy that most other commenters used too, avoiding combat and doing the, uh, pacifist run. But that made me determined to find a more proper route and I now figured out how to do the genocide run, you use suppressive fire to shoot all the enemies dead. Not only did the cargo get delivered, there are now significantly less raiders in the canyon, surely the villagers must be super happy now (unless I shot them too).

I thought the combat was very interesting, the little dots representing the player troops and the enemy characters make the fights seem much more lively with the different animations for the different rock/paper/scissors scenarios. Picking your own route is fun, I have the liberty to take a longer route if I want to battle more raiders and I enjoy that freedom.

I enjoyed this game quite a lot, I played it a couple of times now, and I enjoy taking some different routes and actions and the scenarios that play out from that. Great work!

PARCEL ROCKET by Braveskin 2023-05-03T21:45:23Z

I beat it! The final fight against the three drones and the fourth one at the top was brutal, but I emerged victorious!

Super intense and fun game! Carefully maneuvering the drone felt like a very careful dance, and I could really feel myself getting better at it with time, I enjoyed that learning curve experience! The upgrades were great too, I think my favorite was the thrusters, there's just something innately satisfying about carrying multiple gold bars at the same time with a drone. I also enjoyed the in-depth stats of the drone in the HUD, that made it feel more tactical, like I could choose from which side I attack other drones from based on that for example. So yeah, all in very cool and fun game you made, well done!

LD54 — Limited Space

Yarn by manabreak 2023-10-05T17:31:49Z

I did it, I found all the buttons in both levels, the factory and its toxic fumes are stopped! Very cute graphics, the balls of yarn are just adorable. Sound design fit well with the design as well, I think the music fits well, and the sound effects also went well with the more cute retro look. Loved that!

Gameplay mechanic was a super smart take on the theme, it just fits so perfectly, of course, limited space and using that limited space to open up a whole world of puzzles, it's awesome! Level design worked great as well, the platform placement as guideposts where you could move next, that all fit together well. Had a lot of fun getting those more tricky buttons. Very beautfiful game, great job!

Boxed Boxes by jebouin 2023-10-05T22:43:37Z

Just awesome! So many creative levels based around that core idea. I loved every second of this, every level felt fresh and enjoyable. So many interlocking mechanics used creatively. Cool take on the theme, had a great time playing this, amazing compo game!

Chargez by bentglasstube 2023-10-20T17:37:56Z

Very fun game! I had two main strategies, the first one was avoiding all the balls, circling and moving when the swirly balls got too close, the second one was once the screen had filled up with enough pusher enemies to just stay in the center and rambo it out in a free-for-all pushing balance of terror. I'm not sure if my comment can capture the excitement and hype of this second strat as the clacking continued for several minutes (it was seriously intense), but an untimely swirly that made it into our honorable-pushing-contest inner circle confused and ended me. My best run was 07:30, that was also the run with the swirly finish above. But yeah, very enjoyable gameplay that draws you in and a perfect take on the theme. I loved seeing it fill up and how it got more and more intense. Also the type of gameplay loop where you immediately want to jump in again when you've been knocked out to try and stay in longer. Music is a total bop too, I still have it on in the background while writing this, it's awesome. Wonderful game, great job!

Memory by agentparsec 2023-10-03T16:35:08Z

Me holding onto my first science memory like a champ.

I'm not sure if I did well or not, I lived until 80, but I think I became a bitter old man, with a negative outlook. But I still cared about family, so maybe it's not all bad? Very unique take on the theme that made me go "of course, that's genius" with the limited memory capacity. I loved the setup, how you can first hold more, and then almost kinda depressingly, lose more and more. The music also set this transcendental tone and mood that fit really well I thought. Very cool game, loved it, great job!

Pineapple Burger Pizza by godsboss 2023-10-03T11:37:29Z

Very fun take on the theme! I love how every plate is like its own mini-puzzle, but you're not immediately thrown out when you get it wrong, but instead have a chance to solve it again when it comes back later. The plate with the four meats was the hardest one for me, I just didn't see it. But then, on like the 10th try, I finally got how you could solve it. Super fun! I also think there's a good learning curve here. In the beginning I always struggled to get the plate right, even going down to like three crowns, but after a while, I "got it" and managed to get a strong comeback. Very enjoyable. So yeah, cool game you made, great job!

Purple Pop by silkworm_sweatshop 2023-10-05T21:05:48Z

My first few runs were in the lower range, but after a while I got the hang of it and now the purple rule the petri dish (or are at least in a periodic-food-induced balance of terror with the reds).

Super fun gameplay mechanic, I've been completely sucked in and immersed trying to get those guys to multiply, it's really the type of game that draws you in. Genius take on the theme too, it fits perfectly with limited space in the petri dish and bacteria, very cool and creative. Music has that dark mysterious science vibe to it, which, of course perfectly compliments what is unfolding on the screen. Great game all around, super fun!

Ribbon 2 by 100th_Coin 2023-10-04T19:38:58Z

Recorded a video so you can see the UNFILTERED feedback of someone experiencing the game for the first time (Ribbon 1 too, I'm the type of person that can't play Persona 3 without playing Persona 1 and 2 first) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laLbarDWlsg

Said most of everything near the end of the video, but I had a lot of fun with the game. The ribbon looked very beautiful fluttering around, and I liked the 2D-in-3D aesthetic, I think it works incredibly well with your cute art style. Sound design is top too, in addition to what I mention in the video, I love the sound distortion when entering the ribbon, plus the sound effects are very "juicy". Also still randomly start laughing due to the ending, wonderful. Amazing game, very well done!

BLOCKO 2000 DELUX MEGA PULSAR BIG THING XTREME..! .. Maybe not.. .. . by INCD021 2023-10-03T11:20:47Z

I did it! I made the round trip! For me the hardest one was level 7, it took me a while to figure out how to get through that without the fixed blocks blocking me. But once you have that winning sound effect, that's the greatest feeling.

So yeah, very polished game, I liked how the first few levels double as a tutorial, kinda easing you in naturally, making you understand how the game mechanics work without any help text or anything, that was super smooth. Sound design is also super solid, I kept noticing how juicy the sound effect is when you bump against a fixed wall, or when you attach a piece. Also, personally I like the title, I think it's funny. Enjoyed this game a lot, great job!

Rush Station by wolderado 2023-10-03T18:49:05Z

Hilarious game! Got up to eight trains, after that the blonde tough guys were having none of my kicking anymore.

Loved trying out different strategies dealing with the passenger increase, trying a strategy more focused on pushing, one focused on getting people to the front before the train arrives, there's a lot of room for strategy in there, it's wonderful. Super juicy and satisfying to kick/play, looks great, sounds great, really amazing all around! Great work!

Limited Headspace by OadT 2023-10-13T02:27:15Z

Super fun puzzle game! I greatly enjoyed figuring out the solutions to the puzzles and what you managed to do with the puzzle framework. Especially the last level (lol, the intended solution popup). Also had a big "ah, of course" moment during the puzzle with the pill, the sock and the key, I think that makes a puzzle game feel good, when you feel you have that moment where you solve a puzzle and you're proud of coming up with the solution and I had that a lot here. There was a also a nice sense of progression, there were new elements added every few levels, that kept it feeling fresh. Amazingly well-designed! Loved the ending too, that gave it a lot of heart, I think that was a nice touch. Very well done!

The Dude with a Wolf, a Goat and a Cabbage ~ A modern interpretation by CaptainDreamcast 2023-10-07T00:41:42Z

@sudocoffee ABSOLUTE LEGEND

Interesting to see that flycast supports whichever glue holds my Dreamcast engine together, thanks for letting me know!

Obelisk by Untitled Studios 2023-10-05T22:16:10Z

Very fun, I love building my base of slug-doom with zappers and doing pusher contraptions that automatically keep the zap-war-machine running.

Definitely high intensity building game! I was on my toes all the time trying to find another machine or spawn to keep my run going. Loved the illumination effect too, how it revealed more and more of the map, I thought it was cool how everything opened up over time (somewhat, you still had to break the paths after all). The color palette looked nice and made everything look distinct and color-coded, I liked the mood it set. Same for the music, it really gave that otherworldly quality to the game. Felt super polished, I really loved this game, great job!

Cave Crawl by jellycopter 2023-10-03T13:20:22Z

Very funny game! Love the face and how silly the movement through the cave can get. I think the ambience also really captures that cave exploration feeling. Great job!

Rush Hour by benskca 2023-10-05T18:31:52Z

Missed my second run of the first abyss level because pushing people in is just too satisfying (the fabled Rush Hour genocide run).

But yeah, super funny take on the theme! I had a blast pushing through all the people, there's just something extremely satisfying about cutting through a huge crowd like that. I loved how more elements were slowly introduced, such as the well elements that can be pushed by the audience and the abyss, that added interesting new challenges to the levels, I felt. And of course it culminated in the final level where you really have to push and use everything to make it into the train, that one was an exciting nailbiter for me, superb. Graphics fit well with the gameplay, it was fun seeing all the little guys moving towards the train, same with the sound, I think the bass-heavy track really has that, well, rush hour feel. Just a perfect fit. Wonderful game all around, great job!

Limited Parking Space by Johnsensei 2023-10-06T16:25:08Z

Very fun take on the theme, I think everyone with a car can relate to this! Was very fun weighing the time left vs the distance to the restaurant, that gave you a lot of decision space, I enjoyed the design of that. The music was cool and funky, I liked that a lot as well. Fantastic game you made here, great job!

Antigravity Cat Orbs by John Saba 2023-10-07T13:21:01Z

After playing a bit and finding a good strategy, I set a timer for two minutes to see how many I can get. Using my strategy of standing below the goal, jumping up when there's a cat orb above me, and then spinning out of the way to not hit it away on the way down, I got 24 in two minutes!

But yeah, very cute game! The art and sounds are very cute, the meow-based background music is both funny and relaxing, which is great to sit back and bump some cat orbs into the goal. I like the expressions of the main character and the cats in the orbs, I think those are very cute as well. Great job on your game!

Crampy Kitchen by BisnessPirate 2023-10-03T17:33:45Z

24 was my apex, at that point the orders keep overwhelming me, my fate was sealed when I accidentally threw a tomato into the wrong pot.

Very fun game! Has a nice arcade-like quality to it where you immediately get hooked on the gameplay cycle and want to try again and again to improve your score. Very well-designed, great job!

Space Phantasy XIV - Disc 5 by Frogravity 2023-10-04T18:49:28Z

Phesitor noooooooooo!

I love this, I was completely on board starting with the first dialog until the very end. Laughed out loud every time a new fighter or Phesitor form came on screen. My favorite was the power of toxic relationships, absolute gold. I'm a huge fan of JRPGs, so I also loved all the references too. Finally the single wing lore we always waited for. And of course the LIMIT BREAK take on the theme, immediately made me chuckle. Played through it about six times or so before I got my win, I loved slowly figuring out what weaknesses the different forms have and which warriors best counter it. It was a close call near the end, I got lucky that poison cannot deal the final blow, I was at 0 HP and poisoned but it did 0 damage luckily. Exciting nailbiter! Felt super well-balanced, just the right mix of challenge but not so hard that it felt unfair, awesome job there! Graphics were lovely as well, all the different player characters had a great deal of personality in their designs. Same for the sound, I felt it fit incredibly well. Just a super fun game, had a great time with it, great job!

Parked? by o_sim 2023-10-03T18:35:54Z

Amazing, what a fun take on the theme! Loved how it slowly turned into car sokoban, the levels were super creative, that final one where you have to push through, just great stuff!

Incredibly solid design, from the little steering fluctuations to the levels/puzzles themselves. Also super fun to try again and get more stars! Art and music fit perfectly too, everything came together in a very satisfying way here! Great job!

Bullet Spell by Glove 2023-10-03T13:03:38Z

Phew, I made it to Unhea-, at that point the witch doctors and two necromancers entered an unforeseeable alliance to wipe me out.

Very fun game! I love the interpretation of the theme as a fast-paced bullet hell in a confined space. Felt extremely good to play, the sound effects had oomph, the visual design made it easy to keep track of bullets and the hitboxes felt fair. Really the type of game that draws you in to try one more time, has a nice arcade quality to it. Great job, had an awesome time with this!

Harborea by googlypoo 2023-10-03T12:38:38Z

LET IT BE KNOWN, that I managed to beat level 5 on my first try (through the power of sheer luck alone but that still counts). Spent quite a while on level 4 though, that was the hardest for me, took a bit until I saw how the pieces optimally line up.

But yeah, super cool puzzle game! Just the right amount of challenge, felt very rewarding to figure out the solution. Very polished, loved it, great job!

To the Starfield: a not-open-world rpg by Xlores Liang 2023-10-03T12:15:50Z

This is it, this is Todd Howard's vision.

But yeah, very funny game! Made it to the inside the power station, and read the final message (played through it twice and made a screenshot before the screen got blurry the second time, hehehe). Making the dice throws predictable, plus adding some options that do not make you fail added a great deal of strategy to it. In addition to that, I liked that you also had to fail some stuff to progress, that added some interesting variation to the story. Great job all around!

GridBlocked by KillerB 2023-10-13T03:08:06Z

Ha, super funny and clever take on the theme! The item packing struggle we are all familiar with.

Had a lot of fun going through the different levels. The final one was when it all came together, figuring out the optimal way to place those crowbars, but I managed to get that extreme joy when you only have bombs left and it all works out. Very cool, great job!

Unlimited Space Shawarma by SID37 2023-10-05T17:53:49Z

Nice, I was rescued from my ailing ship and/or quadrant's most successful shawarma restaurant!

Very fun game, I loved seeing my space grow, getting more gadgets and plants and keeping up with the orders of the aliens. I got pretty far making everyone happy, but at some point I had to eat my own shawarma, I think at that point the game design (your own hunger vs requests) succeeded, it felt balanced well. Everything looks very good, I liked the models of everything (I'm hungry irl now), the 2D art of the aliens was a great touch that added character and the effect of the space ships coming in looks cool as well. Music had a nice space feel to it, I think it fit perfect here too. Great job on your game!

Loss Of Signal by Lee Martin 77 2023-10-05T20:09:06Z

Aww yeah, got through them all! I don't think my scores ended up being that impressive, as I greatly feared the filament and its Ding-Ding-Ding-DING-KAPOW scenario, but I used it enough to never run out of fuel either and I can be proud of that.

I absolutely adore the vector art style, this reminds me a lot of some great-looking vectrex games, and it's wonderful playing this in a dark room and having the bright lines accentuated, it's just awesome. I hinted at it before, but the sound design was wonderful as well. The danger indicator, you immediately understand how it works with the sound cues, and it's perfect to not need to look at the bar every second and keep concentrating on the filament. Same with the thrust, you really feel the difference between firing the thrusters and drifting through space. Gameplay was fun, I went from apprentice to journeyman to master. The master levels were the greatest, I loved the variations in the gimmicks. The chase one was my favorite, that one was very hype, trying to keep up. Beautiful game, great job!

Elevators Go Boink by sudocoffee 2023-10-07T14:19:57Z

LOL that ending! Literally made me laugh out loud. Loved the chaos of the elevator fight, the character texts popping up, those made me laugh a lot. I liked the design of just being another person in the crowd, it added the challenge of refinding your player character after the initial chaos (I managed to find myself again based on the color and some tactical wiggling). I think the physics system also made it funny, at one point there was so much squeeze going on that the head of my player character managed to fly out of the elevator (it came back though, no worries), that's the beauty of a physics-based game like this, I think it's great. Getting to the button and figuring out when to hold back and when to push through also was pretty fun, that triumphant feeling when you made it out of the corner at the bottom left to the top of the elevator and justice is nigh. Wonderful game and take on the theme, great job!

Tiny Tower by Martin Bousquet 2023-10-03T15:40:47Z

Ayy, that hype finale with the tower escape! Very cool, that was super tense! Want to thank you for the checkpoint on top of the tower though, I flunked my first run down (forgot to blink in, like, the third tutorial room), so that checkpoint was a godsend.

Really love the gameplay of this, building it around the blink mechanic worked pretty well I think. Mixing up the different obstacles like spikes, bombs and enemies kept the gameplay being fresh all the way to the top. Art was cute I think, I think it lent itself well to this type of gameplay. Same with the sound effects and the music, it all fit together very well. Great job all around!

Fac Spatium by nathmate 2023-10-03T17:08:11Z

Worked well for me, I had my drill, my interplanetary railgun, and my rocket space domination program, all the things a man needs to be happy.

Was fun zipping around planets, digging up resources and turning them into rockets, had a neat space exploration feel to it, I liked that a lot. Great work!

Ventory's Inn by Teist 2023-10-06T11:07:11Z

My final score was in the 40000 mark: tavern score.PNG

Was very hype, the race against the timer and the customers' demands! I was struggling until I realized that some customers have preferences and I can start placing before timer starts, that gave me some leeway (With some, when the orc adventurer asks for a sword and a hammer, you still start sweating). Very fun gameplay, I got totally immersed in the loop of keeping the hype up and trying to fill out the inventory as fast as I could, I think you captured that arcade quality really well that just keeps you going. Great design! The art was lovely, I liked the designs on all the different customers coming in, plus the voices added a lot of personality, those were a great touch. The music captured that bazaar feeling great, I enjoyed listening to it. Super polished game, had a wonderful time with it, great job!

Disco Seducium by najjaman 2023-10-13T03:48:06Z

Nice and funky rhythm game! I got the two lovers together, eye contact was established and the dance floor was dominated.

I thought the pixel art style worked well here, I think it fit well with the aesthetic. Music was wonderful, I still have it on while writing this, it's very funky, I like it a lot. Had no issues with the controls either, a comment above mentioned the music being out of sync, but for me personally it was in sync, so I encountered no issues. I had a lot of fun, I think there was a perfect degree of challenge in the amount of keys and the speed of the music, not too hard, not too easy, very well-balanced. Great job all around, well done!

Trash.exe by Natano 2023-10-13T03:32:01Z

Haha, very smart take on the theme, fits perfectly.

Loved the gameplay too. Definitely also got the Undertale vibes here from the art style and the feel of things, and I think you also succeeded in capturing the creativity of the attack patterns, especially with the Internet Explorer fight and the Discord fight, those were amazing (the others were great too, but those two really stood out in how fun their gimmicks were). The difficulty settings were a nice touch too, I liked replaying on higher difficulties. The pre-fight dialog (and ending) was very funny, those made me laugh, they added a lot of personality. Great job all around, I had a super fun time with this, amazing!

Nice Park! by Barbabulle 2023-10-04T19:24:57Z

There we go, my first run was a parkopalypse, but the second one was pretty much hitting it out of the park, much better: parkmaster.PNG

Loved the gameplay here, super fun to bonk around with the cars, getting a feel for the different car types, figuring out the different puzzles. All came together extremely well! Art style fit well for this type of game too, all the cars were distinct, plus the little effects when driving over leaves added a lot of character. The parking puns in the titles were fun too, loved those. Great job, very well done!

Magus of the Leylines by TrebleColby 2023-10-03T16:12:52Z

Very fun game! Was super fun to play around with different ways to beat the different levels. Like the first time I beat the final level I tried smothering out the flames by having smoke build up at the bottom of the screen and smothering them out (which worked! Even though I got a score of 0!), my second attempt was to use the steam to get the fire to turn off, which worked much better. I really enjoyed that cool "decision space" your design allowed. And I absolutely burst out laughing when after the buildup from the intro, the way ot save the kingdom was volleyball. Amazing, love it (and the other funny levels too, but volleyball takes the cake). Great job!

LD55 — Summoning

A Heavy Crown by OddballDave 2024-04-15T13:55:15Z

Very fun game! I gave it some tries to find an optimal strategy, the best result I got was 72 68 70 77, by mostly summoning advisors that resulted in all-positive outcomes (where possible).

Got very immersed in trying to find the best outcomes. I like how you had prepared outcomes for all the combinations of advisors and scenarios, that made exploring them exciting. The art and sound effects worked well too, I liked the voice clips that play when you select an advisor a lot. Great job!

Flower Run by jk5000 2024-04-15T15:56:43Z

F l o w e r

I really liked this one, getting into the rhythm of it and just timing it right so Mr. Small is propelled on the next platform. My best score was 10, I got a couple 10 runs, but I can't seem to get the timing right for the 11 mark. Got super into it, I think it has that nice quality where you immediately want to start again after a run to get farther. Very fun game, great job!

Necromatcher by wilsk 2024-04-20T16:52:15Z

I won! I made it through, the Pleasant Valley villagers stood no chance (and deserved it, of course).

There was a nice breakthrough moment for me in level 2 when I got it and it all clicked, I enjoy that moment in puzzle games tremendously, and I liked that I also had that here. The art style with the cathode ray-esque graphics looks really neat as well, I think it lends itself well to this sort of puzzle game. All in all very good puzzle game, great job on that!

VOC by cogcomp 2024-04-15T21:28:36Z

Very cool puzzle game! I love when it all comes together during the larger puzzles with more obelisks, it feels really rewarding when you get all the monuments into the same shapes as their holes. The music is a nice bop, I'm still having it on in the background while writing this, I think it works well as figuring-stuff-out-music. Very well done!

The Ritual by silkworm_sweatshop 2024-04-15T16:38:13Z

Made it through and summoned the final summon! What a fun take on the concept! Figuring out the different ways to get summons based on what is written in the book is an awesome take on the theme! Had several "Ah, of course!" moments in the game, which is what I love about puzzle/riddle games. You have to think outside the box for some of the summons and it feels really rewarding when you get it right. Super polished art and sound too, everything from looks to sound design was wonderful. Awesome game, great job!

Demon Well by 100th_Coin 2024-04-16T12:56:32Z

Hilarious, easily one of the funniest Ludum Dare games I have ever played. I made a video of me playing it too for that extra dev feedback: https://youtu.be/4SF4fdUIdxQ

In addition to what I say in the video, I would also like to highlight the creative designs, I really like the characters you made for this game. Art, Audio, Writing, everything was not only top-notch but also felt like it fit together really well to elevate each other. Really a great game.

The Magic Flute: Bee Proud of Me, Dad! by Carraka 2024-04-20T17:42:29Z

Aww, what a cute game and ending! I was grinning ear to ear while playing it, it had a lot of great dad jokes in there, plus the music shifting depending on what you summoned was awesome, I liked that a lot. What a neat idea, I thought it was amazing how it all snowballed into a huge orchestra (complete with cellos and accurate angels of course) near the end. Very beautiful game, well done!

Sminer by LightningST 2024-04-20T11:31:45Z

My best run clocked out at 6375:

6375.PNG

My final strategy was to have two phases to my digging, first I go for all the resources to summon minions, then in the second phase, I'd collect the ores and hope for the best that I have enough minions to protect me. Which worked great! Until they overwhelmed me, but alas, I held out.

Very fun game! You really get into the collecting for the summoning. I think breaking it up into different screens and resetting them rather frequently also helped keep a good game speed going, I think that was a cool decision. I also felt that having two objectives (getting resources/getting ores) also really expanded the decisions you have to take as the player, that really expanded the strategies you could go for that was great. The monochrome art worked well, along with the chiptune music, I think that was a good art style pick. Great job with this game!

Elemental Surge by Foursay 2024-04-20T16:17:07Z

Those are some CUTE elementals. Especially the light turrets, they have the cutest little faces.

Music is great too, both art and music feel super polished, it's amazing! I love the gameplay too, it always feels fair while keeping you on your toes. Personally I tried to generate lots of light turrets by mixing three elemental types, and that created a fun chaos (in my favor) and that felt great! Maybe not the most effective strategy, going by some of the other scores I see here, but I had the greatest time. Very well done, great job on this game!

I Just Want to Bake a Cake but a Random Wizard Keeps Summoning Me to Teach Sums! by Frogravity 2024-04-20T12:22:05Z

Hilarious take on the theme, I was already giggling before starting the game with the summoning and sums thing. The art and sound design was lovely as well, I loved the spinning skull with the summoning that appeared every time the skelecook turned into a skeleteacher and the S U M M O N I N G that goes along with it. Also the cakes are great, I got four of them (for some reason I always max out at 90%, I'm not sure why, maybe mixing and stirring aren't the same thing?). The cakes I got are the salad lover's lizard wonder, the grumpy flowers one, one that seemed very tentacle-heavy and a cake made purely out of energy drinks (this one was for Mark). On the Mark note, the recipe is also super charming, I love the scribbles and personality in there. The sums were a great foil, I have to say, in the heat of the stove battle I genuinely managed to get tripped up, I actually got one wrong, I was feeling the tension. Sound design was also great with the aforementioned sound effect for summoning and others like the one for stirring. Super cool game, awesome idea, great job!

I Just Want to Bake a Cake but a Random Wizard Keeps Summoning Me to Teach Sums! by Frogravity 2024-04-20T15:49:52Z

Ahhh, I see, I put in 3 eyeballs and 5 flowers, those were the two mistakes I still had. But now, it is finally mine:

fun guy on top left is LITERALLY me.PNG

Again, very cool game, thanks!

A Particularly Slow Broom Summoning by tykenn 2024-04-21T10:31:21Z

Very fun game! I had a great time figuring out the puzzles. They were complex enough that I did not see what to do with them first try, but not so complex that I was seriously in danger of getting stuck for larger amounts of time. For example my initial attempt at the bucket puzzle was to throw the stick-yellow liquid into it (unnecessarily). But the inspect button came through, and I figured it out. Second puzzle was great too, my initial instinct was to ram into the wizard and it did its ouf, so when I later figured out that this was in fact the correct strategy to win, that was a great moment for me. The inspect texts are fun, stuff like inspecting the orb and reminding the broom that it is, in fact, a broom, those were very funny. Other than that I liked the animations, I thought the animations the wizard students did were cute, I liked those. Very well done, great job on this game!

TechnoMonk RITUAL by Furano 2024-04-27T09:42:22Z

W O L O L O

Hilarious game, I love the setup with the hangover monk trying to wololo the enemies! It did get really hype in the solo levels when you had your armies clash, I especially liked the final level where you gather your troops and then swoop in near the end. The art is incredibly charming, the techno-monk has hilarious animations, especially on the win and lose screens, those are amazing. Audio and voice-overs were amazing too, again, they add a large amount of charm to this game. The techno fight music is an absolute bop too, I wanted to highlight that. Awesome game, great job!

Demon Farm by ViniFlores 2024-04-15T15:28:16Z

I farmed good

red.PNG

I got really into it, my initial goal was becoming powerful enough so I can slay the powerful demons in one hit. Super fun figuring the strategy and balance between summoners and powerups there. Getting this powerful took a couple runs, then I wanted to find out a way to preserve my legacy, so I hunkered down in a corner. But ultimately, in a final reversal of the demon-human role, the large demons that were now coming in swarms sealed my dark presence as I could not even move a tiny bit anymore to collect my gold. True reversal. The whole concept of the game was hilarious, with the farming of the demons for gold, I loved that from the get-go. Had a great time with this, very well done!

The Mage And The Assassins by 0X_VOID_X0 2024-04-20T13:29:21Z

The music when you win goes super hard, you are absolutely right to be hooked by that.

Extremely fun game! The upping stakes when more enemies spawn in and it becoming more tactical about summon placement as time goes on made it feel very tense throughout! The resource management with heal/summon and the pattern matching when reaching a magic mineral also added a strategic level to it, I loved that. Art is super good, I love how polished everything looks! Writing has a lot of charm to it, the tutorial having some quips and the twist ending were great. And of course the music, the music is incredible in this, not just the aforementioned winning music, but also the one during the main game. Great job all around, very well done!

Salmoning by woona 2024-04-20T17:06:59Z

I love the salmon of knowledge, he's the best (as expected of the salmon of knowledge).

Hilarious take on the theme, starting with the idea of salmoning, over all the way to the writing, I had a blast throughout it all. I'm not great at these types of puzzles, as my struggles with the second-to-last puzzle has shown me, but I stayed strong and made it to the end because I knew the salmon of knowledge was there. Sound design was also superb, the sound effects are super polished and the calming stream noises while you figure out the correct solutions works great. I love this game a lot, I think it was great, amazing job on this!

Game of the Name by kaliuresis 2024-04-15T17:05:00Z

What a cool take on the theme!

Just entering names of your friends and something for the eldritch monsters and seeing which of your friends is truly worth his salt during a fight with cthulhu was hilarious. Reminds me of these popular hunger games simulator games that were going around a while back, in that it has that quality where you want to share around screenshots of it to your friends to show them proof that they would get oneshotted against [wingdings name here]. Had a great time with this, I went multiple rounds until I found my winning team. Super cool sophisticated system you made here with the name distance and the powers too, again, I think it's really an impressive take on the theme. Had a great time with this game, awesome job!

Fausto by PabloAbraham 2024-04-20T14:18:43Z

Super atmospheric, I love the mood you set with this game. Audio and art are incredibly well done, amazing. I didn't really have any problems with the dice, like the description made it sound super hard, I just went with the trusty "big numbers good" and "dice with symbol facing up good" and Mephisto stood no chance. Well, there were also the effects from the dice (those were a nice addition), and it did get more tense when he gobbled up one of my attack dice. I also liked that you could roleplay as Faust in this, via the selection at the beginning and end of the game. My Faust was powerhungry and chugged Mephisto's reward down. Super well done, great job on this game!

Party Wizard by braktheman 2024-04-21T10:46:28Z

Hilarious game, from the concept of a party wizard, to the things requested, all the way to the googly eyes, I was laughing throughout the entire game! It's really picking up speed at around ~20, I can only ever make it to ~25 before dropping the final request and causing the worst day in the party wizard's life. On my last run that was a request for medical help, so that was extra funny though. The gameplay gets very tense and keeps you on your edge, and it is the type of game where you immediately want to try again and improve your score, I liked that. Very well done, great job!

Pack Goat Hero by runningopenloop 2024-04-27T10:15:07Z

I protected the king as my third summon and I won the game! A beautiful perfect ending. I had a couple of runs, I think near the end my optimal strategy was to always go straight to the mission objective and ignore the roads, and try my best to eliminate all wolves before the attack goats die, as long as those goats (greatest of all times) are still around, everything is going well. And it worked out for the most part! I think I only lost one during my winning round.

Very fun game, I like the missions giving a lot of context to the world we are traversing. The fighting is cool too, I liked the way slashing the wolves felt, I think that was designed pretty well, both animation/art-wise and SFX-wise. Your kids did well creating the sounds and graphics! I had a lot of fun playing this game, great job!

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-27T10:00:29Z

Very atmospheric! I like the silhouette art style with the accentuated blood. The lighting effects and the rain are really neat too, I think they add a lot to the and it was a stormy night feel. Same with the rain audio, it really helps set the mood. The jokes made me laugh, the ocean one is the best one, I liked that messiah OS option. You made a cool game here, great job!

Diemancer by WorldOfMush 2024-04-20T13:48:26Z

Super fun game! I also couldn't put it down and had to keep trying again, I tried to match some of the higher scores in the comments, but I couldn't quite reach the 4k range. Very well designed card effects, especially with the multipliers and the imps summing demons and demon lords, that really added additional layers to the strategies you could come up with. Card effects and card art looked great as well, very well done! Great job on this game!

Summoner's Pit by tomi-vahamaki 2024-04-20T16:30:57Z

Super stylish, I love the music together with the FPS-style gameplay, it's super cool!

My best score was 50 enemies and 609 score, the golem summon had respawned but they got me when I tried to take it. Super fun and fast gameplay! The type that makes you want to immediately jump back into it and try again, it's awesome. Very well done, great job on this game!

Ghost in the Filesystem by Theyflower 2024-04-15T17:57:32Z

I made it to the end, the filesystem is mine!

The puzzle piece one had me stumped the most, I did some goofy stuff there like renaming the .png files to .wav and importing them to audacity. But it's all very fun, it was the adventure of getting to the prize (the diary secrets). Very innovative take on the theme, I had a great time figuring it all out, great job!

Endless Engagement by OobOob 2024-04-15T14:57:02Z

Very fun strategy game! I had a great time trying to figure out how to overwhelm the enemy. The first few times it was me getting overwhelmed, but I was steadily picking up what units to use, and the enemy could no longer keep up. Always incredibly rewarding when you figure out a strategy like that! Great job on the design and the game overall, super fun! Holy donut gods were a fun concept too.

Dark Summoner's Forge by legendarypie 2024-04-20T11:03:30Z

I did it, I maxed out the portal, plus summoned all demons and slimes! Now all that's left is to watch the riches roll in!

Incredibly fun game, it's so much fun to see the numbers go up higher and higher to incredible values, you really nailed that sense of progression that makes these games so enjoyable! Also the little slimes with their hard hats are cute, I liked their sprites a lot. The music and art really help set that darker atmosphere, I liked how it all came together. All around super fun game, great job!

Sacrificed by Klemmbaustein 2024-04-15T14:20:23Z

Hehehe, made it through the final day by the skin of my teeth, that final sacrifice item sure was something!

Very atmospheric game! I got really absorbed into the routine of running the shop while handling the side hustle of summoning demons. The little buzz from the lamp while you whizz through the store and the lighting really brought out a special mood, I liked how you designed that. I also liked how the area got more and more demonic over time, that was a cool progression! Overall very well done, great job!

Mini Running Ant by drludos 2024-10-07T21:09:58Z

I got the hit box down now, I'm just whooshing around the rocks:

230.PNG

(The emulator I used was Pokemini (https://sourceforge.net/projects/pokemini/), which worked reasonably well out of the box, in case anybody is scrolling through the comments looking for emulator recs.)

This is very cool stuff, tying the hardware into the theme is truly next level. Amazing idea! Feels great to control too, I never would have guessed that this was only seven hours and your first project on the hardware. Plus with annotated source code and everything! Really awesome stuff! Great work on this game, I enjoyed it a lot!

Friends Adrift by Samuli 2024-10-12T18:09:11Z

AAAAAAAAAAA, I DID IT! STAGE THREE WITH ALL FRIENDS RESCUED!

What a tense level, I was hyperfocused all the way through. You've done some great level design in all levels, but level 3 easily takes the cake, just an array of amazing ideas in there. Music is a banger and the stage has that cool cyber look with the playstation, circuit board inspired design. The 2.5D style looks brilliant here as well. The sprites are cute and lively and contrast well with the 3D environments. You've nailed the Playstation aesthetic, looks amazing. Everything is awesome in this, you really did an amazing job on this game!

ISOPODRICK by Dingbat 2024-10-07T14:41:28Z

I did it, I got all the apple seeds, what a nailbiter finish. My final route was cup->stone next to big stump->in big stump on mushrooms->axe->cliffside->nest->rock->bushes next to rock->on top of cinder blocks (this one I blundered first, I had to go back because I didn't make the jump)->smaller holed out stump. I think I got lucky and the centipede got stuck. Was a full pacifist run as well, I thought about taking out the centipede (because when it sees you, it's basically over for you), but everyone managed to make it out alive. Very cool game! I love the environment, I think it gives you that Pikmin vibe, with everyday objects in a large environment. The designs of the critters was very well-done as well. Not only visually, but also the sound design. There is a certain sense of dread when you hear the army of spiders approaching, that really got the blood pumping. There were cool physics mechanics in there. On thin I only noticed on later runs is that you can propel yourself with your own bomb, I never managed to get it working well in my runs, but there's some neat tech in there, I bet you could make that cinder block jump easier with that one. And of course rolling around as a beetle is fun, the physics did a great job of making that feel good as well. Very cool game, great job!

Honey for the Winter by adjo 2024-10-07T17:36:28Z

I did good, I would be an amazing honey bee. Was a bit close, I ramped up the hive to a couple thousand bees shortly before the end, and was at very low reserves for that, but thankfully I pulled the breaks early enough. At the end, I could have made it for more than a year (unless the beekeeper gets greedy again):

reserved.PNG

Very fun game! I think splitting it between the stats part and the exploration part broke it up nicely, I feel the two modes complemented each other very well. I had attachment to the blackberry harvesting, I went out three times to find it, after all. I think that was a very good design choice. Loved playing this a lot, very well done, great job!

Tiny Tribe by silkworm_sweatshop 2024-10-19T14:48:50Z

I tried both versions, the original version and the post-jam version. In the original version, my tiny tribed multiplied and were happy under my fair, yet iron-fisted rule. All the coconuts and pets they want and only the occasional beating to improve morale. In the post-jam version, the tiny, tiny soldier caste apparently had enough when the other tribe came to attack our queen and razed their part of the islands to the ground in return, which resulted in supreme victory for my tiny tribe.

Love this game. The tiny blobs are incredibly cute and have a lot of character. Very enthralling to see them move around and live their lives. I also love how you put so many creative types in here. Not just foragers and woodcutters, but painters, musicians and even shrinks. I'm building a civilization here. The art and the music set the mood perfectly, it really captures the comfy tiny nationbuilding vibe, it fits extremely well. All around, this game just feels great to play. Super impressive, very well done!

Prince Charmony by 100th_Coin 2024-10-08T14:50:16Z

Phenomenal game! I think the art especially is amazing in this one. And of course the humour is on point again too! Love the villain and his pants in this game. He's living the dream. Made a video with the live reactions that also includes most of my thoughts, but just so it's also in text form, amazing job, incredibly polished game that's super fun! https://youtu.be/Df9FtVjVq_c

Mouse House by johnnysix 2024-10-12T10:27:22Z

Very cute game! I tried multiple ways to get the right apple to the rat king, I attempted to somehow jump-push the apple over the pipes underground, but that always led to the down-the-pipe ending (although I got really close one time). In the end, I used the trusty rope-over-fridge strategy, that one did the trick. What really stands out in this game is the charming presentation: The mouse animations, especially the death screens with the squishy mouse are super fun. The house itself is great, with all its poison and nuclear waste bins, it really drives home the death trap vibe in a fun way. Awesome game, great job!

Feet Survivors by RilleP 2024-10-11T22:21:47Z

My best score was 409, I got super lucky with repair mode, I got it twice near large swarms of insects so I could stomp them without any care in the world and really rake in the points. But then my own hubris overcame me and I kept stomping until I went down with the tile, it was a shakespearean end. Super fun game, you get really hooked in the loop of trying just one more time to improve your score. The power ups are great as well, I always look forward to finding a wrench or a bigger stomp powerup to really show the bugs who is boss. The stomps themselves feel great as well, I think it's the stomp sound effect, it really adds a lot of weight to it. Plus the feet models look great, them changing color with health is a nice touch as well, I loved that detail. Great job with this game!

Tiny Creatures as Us by Foursay 2024-10-12T12:41:24Z

Beautiful game. What an amazing take on the theme, my favorite take I've seen so far, I love the idea of using the theme to examine the human existence as the tiny creatures in the grand scale of things. The framework of the museum worked extremely well too, I think. You could give it this very distinct minimalist art style and it felt really natural, as it was set in the far future. The music perfectly helped set the mood as well. What a great all around package. Beautiful art, beautiful game. Wonderfully done, great job!

Critter Clash by Frogravity 2024-10-11T18:42:29Z

I did it, the gnome on the right stood no chance (he did NOT utilize the mammal bodies as well as I did).

Very fun game, I got really into it. Especially the last two levels were nailbiters, I finished them with one health left remaining. But I got through by the power of cheetah legs in the last one. Awesome gameplay! Loved the theming of the different levels too, how the challenge/puzzle was built into the cards that were available. The third one where all the cards were weaking critters over time was pretty hardcore. All the levels were great! The presentation was great as well, the flavor texts on the cards were funny, especially on the frog legs and the T-Rex arms, those made me laugh out loud when I first saw them. SFX were extremely charming as well. The art makes everything look vibrant and fun, it captures the mood you were going for perfectly. Amazing game, very well done!

ROLL! by Srynetix 2024-10-07T16:33:44Z

I did it, hell yeah. Loved the customization as well, my tiny creature was incredibly smug as it made its way through the levels. Loved the visual style of everything too, the audio visualization in the the background was incredibly stylish, that looks great. Felt very good to control as well, I loved launching out after absorbing all the other creatures, that felt very satisfying. Ending screen is a lot of fun as well. Amazing how much cool stuff you put into the game, very well done, great job!

Critter Catchers by ItsAina 2024-10-07T16:03:20Z

Lmao, I loved the intro and the vibes of the game. The ending was great as well. I can't really go into too much detail because I want people to experience it for themselves, but man, great stuff. Visuals, sound, and feedback was top-notch as well. I liked how it got more frantic as time went on, with the music increasing in speed and everything. Wonderful game, extremely memorable. Really enjoyed this one, great job!

Bug-Bash Buggy by andrewkennedy 2024-10-12T10:55:37Z

I join the ranks of the people who only had a core left. It was a real close thing too, I had no life left, I was sure the last ant left was going to eat the rest of the apple in an ironic twist, those were some tense seconds until I got to it. But that final rush of the bugs was awesome, that was great, just rushing around rolling over bugs. That felt really satisfying. The art and sound effects were great too, the really add to how good this game feels to play. I also liked the text from the superior officer, they were both helpful in giving directions and funny, those were a great addition. I had a lot of fun playing this game, amazing job, well done!

Bug Bounty by woona 2024-10-12T11:58:42Z

Heck yeah, I won!

victory bug.PNG

Took a bit, I kept my forces small and strategical. My final strategy was gunning for the bomb and collect items primarily, raking in the coins and getting multiple allies in one go felt really good. I also liked how the game made you feel attached to the characters, you feel the loss when your big sword knight is gone. And of course the original sheriff, he died somewhere around the middle point for me, that was dramatic. SFX and art were great as well, I also like the confetti effect on the victory screen, that was a nice touch. All around great game, very well done!

Tiny Wars by ZioBob 2024-10-12T17:36:31Z

I did it, I conquered the enemy base as well! I went full ant mode near the end, it was quite the sight to behold the full line moving towards victory. Whenever the enemy spawned a spider, the ranks were pushed back significantly, but I still managed to hold out and zerg rush them. Felt super good! I liked the design of the different types, I liked how it focused on the numbers/power tradeoff, but in a way it didn't feel like all would be lost if you save up for one big unit if that makes sense. I felt the pace was nice and fast in the game, the front line moving forward and backward, making this super engaging all the way through. Great job with the design on that! Cool game, very well done!

Slimeow Game by Quan Ran 2024-10-11T20:46:20Z

Wonderful game! I maxed out all the stats as well. 18 slimeows are feeding the village, while two interns with full veteran status keep the war machine going. I got really hooked into the gameplay loop. Figuring out how to best get the left bar down and the right bar up felt super satisfying, especially with the large amount of options the upgrades provide. When it all comes together, it just feels wonderful. Art style is lovely, the Slimeows look super cute as they meow around. SFX also play into how satisfying everything feels, while the meowchers mow down the bobtails the arrow sounds feel really good. Amazing game all around, very well done!

Tiny Creature Support Group by coltonphillips 2024-10-07T15:37:05Z

I made it through as well, I got some funny names in there, the movie reference one (I won't spoil) made me laugh. Same with the music, I love that one, it's great, I still have it on in the background while writing this. Very fun with the framework of the tiny creature support group too, I had a good time playing this. Very well done!

Look by sudocoffee 2024-10-12T16:22:03Z

What a cool game! A really unique idea. Keeping track of multiple screens for the puzzle is very fun and challenging. I seem to clock out at 10, at that point it feels like I always end up having to trade one looker for another. My big-picture strategy was also to always try and go for the closest purple orb. I think I'm not using the boxes completely perfectly yet. That's what really makes it fun, it's fun to try and keep track of all the blobs. Amazing that you managed to write all the 3D rendering within the two days as well, that's really awesome. Love the atmospheric music as well, it really sets the mood very nicely. I think you created a good atmosphere with that track. All in all amazing game, great work!

Welcome to the Jungle by ejunegao 2024-10-07T16:43:01Z

Yay, I did it, I am the big creature now! Very fun game! Took me a couple of rounds to get to the optimal strategy, felt great when I figured out how to grow gigantic and eat all the other creatures. Very satisfying! The creatures all look very cute. What really stands out about the sound design is when the music cuts out and you hear a big creature approaching, that one's great, that really keeps you on your toes when it happens. All around great job on this game, well done!

Leconium by imai_Time 2024-10-07T21:26:38Z

I defeated the virus and rescued the body! My final strategy was always going around in circles, if it's on the lower platforms, I went counterclockwise for the left one and clockwise for the right one to get away from the spinning attacks faster. The designs of the main character, its animations and the virus/virus attack look cool. I also liked how you managed to fit the tutorial in naturally with the wall blocking the way and the required jump there, I thought that was very well done. Great job on the game! I had lots of fun playing it!

GravelHeir by reecemungus 2024-10-07T13:18:49Z

I did it, I raised the perfect heir! My final strategy was spending it all on saplings first, then turning them into money, and finally using my incredible heir-sale-acquired riches on turning Thornevald into an absolute 100% specimen with potions. Very fun game, I had a great time figuring out a good strategy to get an heir the quickest way. My first attempt was trying to just spawn a lot of potential heirs and see if one of them works out, but that didn't work out so well, so it was the butcher for them. On that note, I liked how there were a lot of mechanics at play here, like you had the farmer, the alchemist and the knight to manage your gold resource. The different fully grown potential heirs were a nice touch, I liked how it looked when you planted a dozen of them all over the place, slept a couple days, and then you had the lineup present in the garden, that was a nice visual. All around very well done, great job!

Mini Mutiny by BUDSTER16 2024-10-12T15:16:15Z

Very fun game! I liked the twist at the end, the signs were there if you pay attention to the tasks. Very nicely done! I love the dialogue from the other gears, the ones down below in the second level are the best, those made me laugh out loud. Gameplay was fun as well, I liked how the pace was kept fast with the day and night timers exchanging, it keeps you on your toes at all times. My best run was two days, first night scroll+data+diamond gear, and then the second night to invade the quarters. Had a wonderful time with this game, great job!

Shadowy Creatures by Setter 2024-10-11T21:38:53Z

Had a lot of fun throwing around the shadowy pals! Felt super fun to create these little platforms once you got the timing down. I especially liked the level where you had to use all of them in the beginning, it really gets you thinking tactically whether you want to preserve or keep them, I was mapping it out in my head hoping I could make these final jumps. Plus the thanks for playing screen really drives home just how satisfying it feels to throw around a lot of the shadowy pals, that is super fun as well. Love the mood set by the art as well, I think it fits well with the shadowy pals. Great job on this game, very well done!

Emberlight by Frostbeak 2024-10-12T15:41:01Z

Like others pointed out, the atmosphere in this game is excellent! The shadows of leaves together with the music and the sound effects can really pull you in, I was completely on edge all the way through while playing this. I managed to light all the beacons in the end, but it was tense all the way through, at the end I felt striders could jump out at me from any direction. Very well crafted! The look of everything was beautiful as well, especially the lighting effect on the water, the light reflections looked amazing. Great game, very well done!

Hexoban by PlasmaPuffs 2024-10-11T19:21:12Z

Very cool take on sokoban! Honestly, after playing this, I feel hexagons lend themselves much better to sokoban puzzles than squares. My time was 12:40, I took a while on the 10th level and the roundabout one I think. My favorite level was Hexscape, I really liked how satisfying it felt when you make that final round and push in all the boxes. That felt great. I also liked how the titles doubles as a tutorial, that helped a lot, especially with the double push, I thought that was a smart way to teach players what they can try. Also want to praise the animations, both for the bee and the level transitions, I think those were really cool. Very fun game, great job!

Gnaw More! by 1finiteloop 2024-10-07T15:01:59Z

My best score is 155.85: gnawmore.PNG

My strategy was to wiggle the mouse as fast as I could and prioritize areas about to be eaten, so their point values don't get lost. That run I got really lucky and wasn't stuck on the core while maximizing area. There's a cool risk-reward tradeoff with the countdown, on the one hand, you want to squeeze out as much score as you want, on the other hand, if you don't make it back, it was all for nothing. That really added another layer of strategy to the gameplay. The visuals were very cute, I like how the worm wiggles, I think it went well with the style of the game. The title screen is absolutely superb, I love how you can eat the title and everything if you try hard enough, that's very fun to play around with too. Music worked well too here, I think it fit well with the gameplay, same with the sound effects, the gnawing sounds of the worm were again very cute. Amazing job, well done!

LD57 — Depths

Talkie Escape by Yvanor 2025-04-12T13:25:49Z

Very fun game! The twist of making the character on the other end of the walkie talkie jump and turn after doing it yourself was very cool, that was a neat idea! I nearly got him through without any major injuries, except maybe one or two close encounters with chainsaws.

Your game looks amazing! The 2D sprite in the 3D environment, plus those clean pixel art textures on the 3D geometry, it just looks fantastic! Very well done, great job! #complexout

Buried Under Profits by tinykidtoo 2025-04-08T17:51:00Z

Very fun game! The quick cycles of gameplay give it that nice quality where you immediately want to jump back in again to improve your previous high score of gems. I usually got eviscerated by the laser fish before I could get a nice gem count going, but I did get five gems once in my best run, barely making it to the surface with the boost, a real nailbiter! SFX were great, it's fun hearing everything go off when you're in the middle of laser and mine chaos, those were great. All around great work, very well done!

Deep sea fishing by Spexxilove 2025-04-08T19:30:10Z

Ha, got jumpscared by Fred as well, what a way to go. So yeah, made it to the bottom as well. Very fun take on the theme, sucking up the fish felt pretty neat, especially once you have all the bait upgrades and the whole area is swarming with fish. That was extremely satisfying. Had a nice balance of when you get upgrades, there was a nice progression there, I thought that was balanced very well. The dark atmosphere with the little shining star-esque effects gave it a nice mood as well. All around a very fun game, very well done!

Bunker Blood by skippuku 2025-04-08T18:06:35Z

I made it through, it's possible to beat it, but the win condition seems to get triggered on year 12, not 24 unlike what the itch page says.

Took me a couple of rounds to figure out, but my final strat was to go excavate south towards water, drop a bunker somewhere to keep humanity afloat for a couple more years and then drain the water, that worked out nicely. Then in the endgame, some bunkers on the bottom row, and voila, the bleed is staved off for just barely long enough. Very atmospheric game, with the reddish color palette and the synth-heavy otherworldly music. Really gives you the vibes that you're trying to make it through some apocalyptic event, I liked the presentation a lot. Had a lot of fun with this game, great job!

The Moon Reconstruction Program by 100th_Coin 2025-04-08T13:41:52Z

I did it, I reconstructed the moon, I only hope Mission Command and Blue, the entire rest of my team, is proud of me!

I made a video of my playthroughs, and my lofty speedrun of 8.48.23 (first gem brutalized me in that run though): https://youtu.be/lE-gQJaOa-Y

Amazing game! I mention it in the video, but it feels super smooth to play, the way the momentum works with the digging and how you can dynamically add paths through the rocks feels just right. The return-to-base effects are great for the rare case that you get stucked irrecoverably too. Mission Command is hilarious, I wanted to highlight him again in particular, I love the way he interacts with the player. Truly the heart (and the COMMAND without middle-men) of the game. This game has cool effects too, I really liked the intro effect and the credits, those were incredibly stylish. Super fun game, great job!

Artery by Phlip45 2025-04-10T18:06:57Z

I think you managed to create a really unique and atmospheric game even with the reduced time limit! Going down with the spins of the wheel, looking out for weird light sources and openings in the artery (assuming it was a giant artery), it was an otherworldly trip that had me engaged all the way through! I tried to go into one of the openings in the wall close to the bottom, but I think that was impossible, other than that I was looking at and hunting the different light sources, those were very intriguing. Before I noticed that I was automatically moving forward when there's space, I thought something was moving towards me when I was on the bottom, that gave me a good scare. Such a tight presentation! The ambient music, the art style, the gameplay as well, I think it all came together to make something great and memorable. Very cool take on the theme, loved the vibes in this game! Great job!

Focus Hunt by dhim 2025-04-12T10:14:34Z

Found them all! The letters took a while, the second A and the B were super-well hidden!

I win.PNG

I had the same bug as pixelstain with the current version (both on Firefox 137.0.1 (64-bit) and Chrome 135.0.7049.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)). I'm just on some regular laptop with a 1080p display and not doing anything special, not sure where anything could be coming from, unfortunately. When I downloaded a previous release from github, that one worked for me. There was one slowdown when I spammed click but other than that it ran very smooth for me!

But yeah, back to the game: It's very cute, I think the easter theme linked with searching for objects is a very cute idea. Also very creative take on the theme, using depth of field based on the theme is genius, great job for coming up with that idea! Finding objects is fun, your daughter is correct, so it's a fun game. As I mentioned before, I thought the objects were hidden quite well. All-around great game, very well done!

Focus Hunt by dhim 2025-04-12T14:06:01Z

@dhim Yeah, the github.io version works for me now, that seems to have fixed it.

Drilling in the Deep by Jiri Hysek 2025-04-08T17:14:01Z

Phew, I managed to get saved! It's funny how in the beginning I felt I had all the iridium and none of the crystals, and in the end, I seemed to have a mountain of crystals, but iridium was becoming the bottleneck. But nothing half a dozen additional drones can't fix! Had a lot of fun seeing the resources go up faster and faster. I enjoyed the deep-sea atmosphere (although I see now that the music was supposed to loop, but the sound effects also carried a lot though). Very clean art as well, the game looks great. All around great job, very well done!

The Well of Secrets by coatline 2025-04-08T21:18:06Z

I got all the secret ancient gems, they were absolutely worth it, the voice from the intro had it all wrong!

Very atmospheric game, it definitely pulls you in while you're trying to memorize your way back and then hits you with a scary sound that really gets you, that was very neatly designed, I thought that was cool. The pixel art included and the pixel art filter give it a very distinct fantastic look as well. Super cool game, great job!

DeepFrame 9 by JavaSaurus 2025-04-09T17:57:41Z

Just barely made it past the 1800 wall after a couple of runs:

barely.PNG

My final strat was to stick to the corner, as long as the outermost brick is gone, I could aim and squeeze my way through there, this felt faster than doing it on one of the middle bricks.

Super fun game! Very addictive gameplay, the type that immediately makes you want to jump back in and try again. Effects are super juicy and look/feel amazing, this game makes it incredibly satisfying to smash through all the walls. Music is hype as well, get the blood pumping, I still have it on in the background as I write this, absolute banger. Super cool game, you've done an amazing job with this!

Holy Moly! by Thomas_Bringer 2025-04-12T07:56:16Z

Very fun game! Made it to the end, just barely hanging on with my last heart, a real nailbiter! At some point I got a good feeling for how often I could hit the hunters until they reloaded (the reload sound effect was a great addition, that helped a lot). Game design is top-notch here! Everything feels super awesome, the digging, the shovel swing and the combat all have that juicy, responsive feel that makes them really fun to use. Art is cute and goes super well with the game. I especially admire the animation when the mole turns, the way the snout and the eyes turn so smoothly, that's incredibly cool! Like I mentioned, sound design is super tight as well, both with the sound effects that make everything feel good and the bopping background music, I like that a lot, I think it fits well. Very well-done game, great job!

Sun(d)less Descend by Foursay 2025-04-12T13:10:55Z

Super interesting game! Figuring out the story from the echoes of the dead and the notes, while also trying to keep track of the phonemes was cool. I really enjoyed the surreal imagery as you descended further and further, plus the whispers of the voices coming from every direction. That was an incredible experience, loved every second of it! Amazing game and take on the theme, great job!

Dead & Buried by Frogravity 2025-04-09T18:43:22Z

John Jones the type of guy who doesn't let death, a big hole or even a rocket bring him down, inspiring.

Hilarious game from start to finish! The interactions with Jones, the texts on the coffins (guy who died of not drinking during a game jam, rip) and the overall escalation of getting rid of the zombies all culminating in the hilarious ending. Wonderful from start to finish, I laughed out loud multiple times!

I think the game also really nailed the horror mood, when you see the day text pop up with the ominous ambience, you know something is going to happen, there is a feeling of approaching dread as Jones becomes more peculiar. Art has a nice cartoony quality that goes well with the humorous vibes of the game (Jones in particular is, again, incredibly charming). Gameplay was very fun as well, it threw a couple of loops with the disappearing coffins and the day where you have to remember where everyone is while you go to the underground screen. Plus the element of planning to maximize the family bonuses. I didn't play perfectly optimally, but I still think I managed to get an okay score, I had families together for nearly every coffin:

42k.PNG

Very well done game, great job! Had a great time playing it!

Maps of The Darkness by Wolfier 2025-04-12T08:39:52Z

Heh, farthest I explored was floor 6, that was when the green guys ganged up on me and put an end to my adventuring. I love the way you actually have to map out the paths yourself, I thought that was fun and also kept you on your toes to do this and pay attention to where you are going while traversing the dungeon. I also liked the different playstyles that were possible in this game. The combat upgrades for when you want to play more aggressively, slaying all the enemies, the armor when you want to play more defensively and the light, which is extremely useful when you try to avoid combat altogether. The sneaking approach was actually the one I got the furthest with, seeing a good chunk of the room and thus the exits/connecting floors is an incredible advantage.

Music and art fit very well too, I think it really immerses you while you are getting around exploring the dungeon. You did very well designing this game, it's super fun!

Caver by Harmadillo 2025-04-12T14:18:57Z

Neat, I made it all the way down to the final level on my third attempt! I got super lucky and was able to find a ton of torches and tanked all the bear and scorpion attacks.

Very cool game! I like how every movement is a decision and how you're juggling all your resources, torches, health, ropes. I was always on edge trying to make sure I'm not running out, I had to take some nailbiting decisions ("Yes, 4% chance MIGHT sound bad at first glance, but it doesn't say impossible AND it will save a torch!" - final statement before disaster strikes). Had lots of fun and a great time with this game, I was really getting immersed while trying to find a way through the caverns. Great job, very well done!

Drill Down, Dog! by Mavvy 2025-04-09T17:46:15Z

Super fun game! I felt I made it really far, but apparently still nothing to the score above:

5300.PNG

I had a good system in place: Vertical movement good, horizontal movement bad, that was my strat to avoid the toxic enemies and their horizontal attacks. I don't agree with previous comments that it is too easy though, I was constantly just scraping by. The two-hearts system was great, it gives you one grace hit before you have to face sudden death and have to carefully get back to 5000 gold nuggets. There was one perious where I had two hearts and 5000 gold nuggets, that made me feel very powerful and invincible (but two encounters where I messed up with the laser enemies made short work of that buffer). On that note, I also enjoyed the additional enemies and what they added to the table, the aforementioned laser enemies that really change how you tackle a screen and the enemy that eats gold nuggets and makes it a race. All in all was super balanced for me, great job on the game design!

The game itself looks and feels great as well. Digging through nugget blocks and enemies feels super satisfying, sound effects are on point as well. The pixel art style feels very clean, I like how the game looks a lot. Music fit super well the the vibe of the game as well, that's a nice tune to dig some gold nuggets to. Great game, very well done!

That Underground Level by andrewkennedy 2025-04-08T19:59:34Z

Fun collection of underground homages! My favorite one was the Zelda one, I liked how you had multiple ways to get through it, with the option to keep using bombs instead of the key. Final battle with the demon again was also cool, taking away the dodge roll I used to get around him in the Dark Souls section tripped me up at first, heh. Art was super clean, gave it a stylish neon feeling while keeping the mood of the originals as well. Music was super slick as well, most noticeably in the Undertale section when the musical references were synched to the attacks, that was super good, amazingly done! Great job on all the sections, all around super well done game!

Can Go Deeper by Trabasura 2025-04-08T14:54:00Z

I made it through the ten rounds, and earned the life lesson about not diving in explodable crucibles.

Had a lot of fun coming up with strategies to win! My original play was to stick with two swordfish and two dolphins, but I got wrecked so hard by a team of two hammerheads, that I then copied that strategy, and it worked incredibly well. The two hammerheads carried me until sharks were introduced, who then made short work of them. I then used a mix of sharks myself and pufferfish, but it was no longer so clear-cut, I did lose some of the bouts (but thanks to the hammerheads, I had amassed enough wealth to rebuy the crew as needed, truly the hammerheads were carrying me until the end). Last match was still a bit of a nailbiter, but the mysterious, powerful Kraken seems to have come through. Was all super great fun, very well designed! Art is cute as well, love the fish with their big eyes. I also liked the speech effect on Beffrey, that was a nice touch, plus the way he looks at your cursor. All in all great job, very well done!

Cave Hunter by GeoBlackrU 2025-04-13T19:51:08Z

My skills are legendary, I won! Was a close call, my platform health got really low as I prioritized more damage with turret upgrades. Super intense and super fun gameplay!

The art looks great as well, the pixel art is really beautiful, and the colors really help set that spelunking mood! Very well done game, great job!

Clean Down by torte478 2025-04-12T11:49:57Z

lol, the "inspired by real events"!

Super calming game, I got really entranced by cleaning up the various hallways. I feel like I got really good at it too, the smooth sweeping, making sure to not step into it and you're not creating more footsteps. Later juggling it with the fireball selection for light. There's a lot of things going on in this game and it feels really good when you get a good flow going, it's very well-crafted! The guitar music is a nice fit as well, I like how it adjusts over time, the darker it gets and the closer you get to the "source". Great job, very well done!

Topography by sudocoffee 2025-04-12T10:46:53Z

Hehe, what a fun puzzle! I made it to the end as well, it's super fun when you have that "ohhh, of course I have to go like that" breakthrough moment.

Music was super stylish, the way it adapted to the layers present. The terrain tool was super fun to use as well, it really brought back the feeling of using the topology tool in one of the old zoo tycoon or rollercoaster tycoon games, great job implementing that! Super cool take on the theme, great game!

A Very Deep Tunnel by Sicosiber 2025-04-08T20:44:09Z

Made it to the end of the very deep tunnel! That final camera pan was super satisfying, to see all the drills and bees toiling away, felt great!

Musically the game was astonishing as well, the dynamically reactive music was such a great touch and matched perfectly with the rhythmic work of the mining tools. Graphically the game is beautiful as well. I love the 2D sprite in 3D world style, plus the design of the tunnel, crystal and tools gave it a very comfy feel. The lighting completed the game by perfectly setting the mood of working deep underground. All around a wonderful game, very well done!

SEABIOSIS by reecemungus 2025-04-08T14:25:00Z

I built up my supreme army of multiple dozen fish over time and engaged the enemy fish in a gigantic battle that will be told of for fish generations to come.

Super fun game! Seeing the number of fish in your shoal go up feels super satisfying as you collect the eggs, there is a nice feeling of progression in that, and like I mentioned, having a gigantic army at the end feels super nice. I also loved all the animations of when the fish turn, like their tails following the line of their movement, that makes it all look and feel super smooth. With the bubbles, the color palette and the sound effects, I think you also managed to capture the deep sea atmosphere well. Very well done, great job!

A Well to Wonderland by Mathieu Chougui 2025-04-10T18:34:57Z

Amazing game! The art is phenomenal, the use of colors gives it that particular wonderland feel like you're falling through a special realm. The music is amazing as well, it also really helps build the mood of the game, it also perfectly embodies that "Wonderland" quality (plus it's super catchy, absolute bops) I love how the same motifs are present in multiple stages, that also drives home the sense of progression. Gameplay definitely has the type of quality that sucks you in, I enjoyed finding ways to better survive the hazards. Like when I figured out that most of the non-qte hazards follow a pattern where you can either keep falling to make it through all of them, or need to brake with a peculiar rhythm. Figuring that out was very fun! Very cool take on the theme, great job!

Into the Depths by byebye 2025-04-13T21:48:13Z

I did it, I became guild master! My final strat was to put it all in defense, once that's maxed out I can venture into the dungeon as basically a tank, the mimics had no chance, hehe.

So yeah, super fun game! The different options to choose how you play (offense/defense/neglecting status for more treasure etc) added some nice strategizing to the game. I loved how it felt as well. Everything looks great and the sound effects give it a very nice sense of feedback, the way there are different ones for different events was cool! Everything felt very polished! Very well done, great job!

Flower Abyss by DadDerGamesInc 2025-04-08T16:14:29Z

Really love this game, it was super creative and felt like it had something to say. The take on the theme with depth as the flower abyss (and what the flowers represent (no spoilers from me here)) fit together amazingly. I played through the right route and then the left route, there was only one thing on the left route, I'd mention, shortly after you get to the eye that reveals the secret, there is a part where you drop down to get another red eye, but whenever I dropped down there, it reset me to the last checkpoint. I thought maybe I had missed something, so in my second attempt I picked up the last grass, but no change there, whenever I dropped down to the platform I got reset. In my final run where I made it to the end, I just skipped that red eye down there (and the one revealing the secret to keep my longer jump/speed boost) and everything from there worked as expected again. But back to the game, what a journey. I loved the storytelling from both the writing and the environment: Like when the character falls in love, you actually fall, the trampled flowers foreshadowing a twist about the loved one, etc. As mentioned above the use of color is phenomenal as well, the switch between light and dark in the right route and the dark + red color scheme in the left route made everything feel a lot more poignant. The sound worked great to set a specific mood and really pull you in, I think that also really enhanced the game experience here. All around great job, very well done!

Deeper by Gargantuan Janitor 2025-04-12T09:48:15Z

lmao, the libido sudoku! Hilarious game through and through, it perfectly parodied what those newgrounds flash games with the lust/libido/etc minigames were like (n- not that I would know). I laughed out loud every time something new appeared on screen. It even has the frosted glass background effect and the character sprites, art was on point as well for the parody. Only just realized how genius of a take on the theme it was in that it also worked towards parodying the genre. Yeah, amazing through and through, absolutely loved this game! Great job!

Spirit Lock by Brian Russell 2025-04-10T17:37:06Z

What a wonderful game! Played through it twice just to take it in again. Sets a very mysterious, anticipating mood with the music and lighting, I thought that was crafted very well. I also enjoyed the dialogues that play when you collect torches, the way they built up and culminated in the ending, that was cool, with the different "themes" for the different spirit realms as well. That color palette for the different realms and the art tied in neatly into the gameplay, that was very well done as well. It was also cool how the difficulty of the puzzles increased naturally the more spirit realms became available, like others have said, that's a cool mechanic you came up with! Super well-crafted game all around, great job on this!

Earth Below by whateverdat 2025-04-12T10:35:47Z

Made it to the end as well after skillfully dodging the lightning, it took a couple of tries, but my strategy of jumping through the lightning, then rebuilding just in time as the lightning has passed worked out perfectly! Going straight up on every screen was my ultimate strat, the second screen with the flamethrower attack nearly broke it though, I got really lucky there.

What a fun game! As you could tell from the first paragraph, I got really immersed in trying to come up with different strategies to beat it. Since rounds usually were pretty fast in the beginning, you could immediately jump back in and try to improve or make it farther, learning from the previous runs. That gave it a great sense of progress. Super fun! Music and art were nice as well, the pixel art was expressive, especially for the devil giggling away as he's hurling rocks to destroy my platforms. Great game, very well done!

Greedlock by someoneman 2025-10-06T13:41:08Z

Made it to the end! The clever moment was in the final level when you have to move the camera upwards to progress, right? At least I felt clever when I figured it out. If that is another clever moment, then there are multiple clever moments!

The music was a nice tune, I liked the different tracks for the levels, they were cool! Sound design in generally was good I thought. Difficulty was a bit on the higher side, especially on the third-to-last level I think, the first with the enemies, but the levels were short and sweet enough that it was fun to retry and find different routes to make it through, I enjoyed that a lot. I had fun playing though this game, well done!

Virus singularity [Mega Drive] by Samuli 2025-10-06T16:59:26Z

I made it to the end! Amazing, it escalated a lot harder than I had anticipated, at first you think "Ok, Auto Move is probably going to be one of the harder ones, the graphical ones aren't that hindering" but then it hits you with the color palette virus and the scanline virus and all hell breaks loose lmao. And of course reverse attack, that one made it tricky as well, especially with the additional enemies. Super fun, it got super tense near the end! I really loved how it escalated like that, I still have Kega Fusion (I'm an emulatorbabby) open just to look at the funky colors at the end after winning. There's something very mesmerizing about it, it looks super slick. You got absolutely amazing effects out of the Mega Drive, kudos on what you did here. And the controls were super smooth and snappy, it felt great to play as well. Amazing game all around, very well done!

Windows Explorer 2 by torcado 2025-10-06T15:23:49Z

Very innovative idea! It's fun looking around for icons and gathering resources to upgrade your windows or add additional data siphons, fabricators etc. It's probably my favorite part of the game, leveling my favorite windows up (the BEST window is still steadily moving towards the 10000 points upgrade as I type). Super cool take on the theme, great job!

MoruMatrix by cogcomp 2025-10-11T18:09:11Z

Woah, lots of cool mechanics in this game! When you hit the beer jug and just collect everything in a perfect line- pure bliss! My score clocked out at 242329:

morumatrix.png

There were a lot of levels where I went slow in the beginning to get all the items to collect, then sped through with the methane boost, that seems to have done well for my score (although it led to the occasional nailbiter finish against the clock).

As I mentioned already this game feels super good to play. It has that arcade-like quality, that just makes you want to keep jumping back in and keep going to make it to the next level, I liked that a lot. Graphics-wise the artstyle is superb as well. I reminds me of Rez in all the good ways, which is another game with a genius art direction. Love it! Same for the music, it's really good and just keeps you in the loop. Top stuff! Very good game, great job!

STAVROS by designernap 2025-10-11T15:17:59Z

That final rest ending, poor Stavros. I tried replaying it to see if the rising platforms in the castle level lead somewhere else (that's also when I saw the level select "I had hopes", which I felt), but Stavros' fate was set in stone, or rather container.

Very atmospheric horror game! The level where the demon first appeared got me good, that was super scary. I think your work with the sound effects paid off, the sound effects in this game are all superb, they were something that really stood out to me while playing it. The noise when text appears on the screen (I loved this between levels, it was such a good way to set the theme of the level!), the containers breaking, the demons, and the ambience where something seems to be out there. Just amazing stuff. Super well done horror-game, great job!

🩸 Peeping Tom by Vegevan 2025-10-06T19:40:15Z

Haha, I collected them all! Jack the Ripper got me once when I couldn't find my way back home via omen street, but other than that luck was on my side! Very fun game. I like the personality the city has with the road names, the funny radio announcements and the things the houses say. Collecting serial killer trinkets is also a cool, unique take on the theme, I think it was very clever as well. The 8-bit artstyle is charming and I think it works well when contrasted with the gruesome murdering and the dark humor messages coming in, I think that worked well together. All around great job, well done!

Trivia Hart in "The Case of the Porcelain Tricorn" by 100th_Coin 2025-10-07T14:24:04Z

I did it, I solved the case! The stuff dreams are made of (commonly known as porcelain) is safe!

Also made a video of my runs: https://youtu.be/oH1KSD0JzQ0

My best time was 02:25:52. It WAS the spike ending though, so Trivia Hart scholars might contest it. My time for the other ending was 03:35:32, but I lost some seconds to tomfoolery in that run, alas.

So yeah, I already talked about it in the video, but I wanted to write again, that I think this was one of the funniest Ludum Dare games I had played yet. I was giggling the whole way through, there was constantly something funny happening in the audio lines, the animation or in the background, so many great jokes, some of them even went over my head the first time (BARber, how could I miss that!). There was a lot of attention to detail in this game, and that made it a blast to play! Since you wrote that you will never draw that much for a Ludum Dare ever again, I also want to point out that the art was amazing. The animations of the characters (the dancing guy!), the backgrounds and especially the lighting effects in the alley, those all looked superb! The metagame and watch transitions looked super cool as well, especially the one on the title screen. Just fun to play around with, it's great! I took the simplified drawings in the endings as a humorous way to end the game, they did not change my view on this game's art being amazing. Sound was great as well, I especially love the transition when you enter the BARber or go back to the alley, that transition between tracks is super smooth. And of course the amazing voice lines, an unbelievable amount of work must have gone into them, but it paid off they sound super good and super funny. You made a super hilarious awesome game, amazing job on that!

LD58 - Space Crystals by Endurion 2025-10-06T20:19:48Z

Super fun shooter! I felt I found a nice spot on the left side of the screen where the patterns barely got me (though they ultimately still did), I got 1504 points on my best run:

space crystals score.PNG

It's very fast-paced and cool! Adding the drone for collecting also varies up the gameplay and adds another additional layer, that was a cool addition. The C64 aesthetic (well, can you still call it aesthetic if it's the real deal, lol) is super slick as well and fits great with this time of game. Awesome job on this game, well done!

Fluster Fencing by Jajo 2025-10-06T18:35:28Z

Haha, what a fun idea! Aiza gave me a hard time my first try, I seemed to always get her answers wrong, but after a couple more duels and practicing the art of flirt fencing, I got some gold, land and all the crown jewels (after my revenge grudge match with Aiza). Awesome! I like the character designs, I think they're cute! The idea of fencing via flirting is also hilarious as I had already mentioned, I thought the back-and-forths were funny. Super funny take on the theme, great job on this game!

CONTAINMENT BREACH by wisstopher 2025-10-06T18:53:49Z

Very tense game! The final chapter where you hear the creature make noises while you run for your life got me good, I was positively spooked.

I liked the atmosphere and worldbuilding a lot in this game, I think it really helped get immersed in the game. Like you're doing the wreckage salvage game and suddenly something happens. Or the notes lying around the area giving you backstory and motivation why you're here. I thought these were really cool touches. And of course, starting with chapter 3 was a cool motivation, that added a cool layer of tension to the first two chapters. Very cool game, great job!

Invasive Spectral Projectiles by HacksawUnit 2025-10-11T20:08:23Z

Woo, what a blast! My best score eeked out at 216550:

invasive spectral projectiles.PNG

I went with a default-shot-only strategy, plus an important cornerstone of living through the first and third level in particular: Do. Not. Mess. With. The. Red. Bats. I got very cocky in the third level and thought "Yeah I can take them" after all my upgrades, but I was humbled very fast. When I came to the part where there's ten or so hanging out, I held my fire and "sneaked" by. So yeah, might have left some points for the high score there, but I live to tell the tale!

Super fun shmup! Collecting the enemy shots as a mechanic was a cool take on the theme. The upgrades were fun as well, they gave me an incentive to collect the currency objects during the level and not just do it for score. On that note, being able to shoot and destroy some of them was a fun little touch, I thought how you made it that you can't just hold fire and rush through the level mindlessly was very neatly designed. I also liked the style of the game, the NES vibes with the vibrant foreground colors worked well here. Same for the audio design, I thought the sound effects were top-notch as well, made everything feel like it had a nice impact, they're great. Had a lot of fun with this game, great job!

Tiles Collector by dhim 2025-10-06T14:06:26Z

I felt super smart when I finally put together the final tutorial puzzle where you have to get 9 pairs per row! With these puzzles, the second it clicks and you realize the pattern is amazing! Testament to a super well-designed game, great job! Very unique and interesting puzzle game, loved it!

Demon Scalper Blues by CaptainDreamcast 2025-10-11T16:04:44Z

@samuli LMAO, you're a legend

Demon Scalper Blues by CaptainDreamcast 2025-10-15T10:25:36Z

@sudocoffee Thanks for the kind words! About Dreamcast dev: That's pretty much the article I started with back then heh, my games still use KallistiOS as their base as well. I set up KallistiOS and the whole cross-compiler stuff under WSL (calling it from Windows with various scripts if necessary), that was the comfiest setup I found. KallistiOS is relatively similar to the fixed-function OpenGL pipeline for drawing or something like SDL for input, so I don't think it's that complicated to use (although I'm also mostly sticking to 2D, I guess the more rocket science you try to do on the Dreamcast the crazier it gets). There are also some cool ports, for example the oggvorbis stuff, I use that to stream ogg files (before that I would burn the music as actual CD tracks, but that always leads to hacks for other platforms in cross-platform games). For testing, I usually test by connecting with the ethernet adapter I managed to snag (like shown in the "Running an example program through a debug link" section of the article), but emulators have really stepped up their game recently. For testing with emulators, the CDI creation program I use is CDI4DC (https://dreamcast.wiki/Cdi4dc), that's the only major difference from the article, but it might just be that CDI4DC is outdated (still works for me though).

For starting Dreamcast development in the space year 2025, there are also more complete engines like Simulant now (https://simulant-engine.appspot.com/) , haven't tried anything with those yet though.

It's actually all kind of neatly bundled, this is all the Dreamcast code I use: https://github.com/CaptainDreamcast/prism/tree/develop/dc (opening netplay_dc.cpp will lead to disappointment, don't do it no matter how tempting).

Shape Collector by rhewid 2025-10-06T11:37:31Z

I bowed out at the 286133 mark, it looked like I had escaped the threshold for a while, but it got me in the end, hehe.

shape collector score.PNG

Super fun game! I loved experimenting with different strats from the powerups! My final strat was to always make sure I am strong enough for 1-click-kills, plus focusing only on green and only on rectangles/triangles (the circles know what they did). But there was still a lot of cool variation, with the dice and the hearts, that added another layer of strategy to it, that is super well designed, well done with that. It's the type of game that's super easy to get sucked into and try again and again to improve your score, I liked how that felt. Presentation and sounds also helped with the immersion there I think, I thought they were a neat fit. Great job on this game, well done!

Notebook Flight by HomoLudens 2025-10-11T12:02:31Z

What a cool game design! The final level was my favorite, that's when the replay mechanic really clicked for me, felt amazing! The way you slowly build up your path until it all comes together, it's super satisfying. I still have the ship going on the thanks for playing screen while writing this, it's super fun to watch. The notebook aesthetic is very charming as well, I love how everything looks. Very well done, great job with this game!

Key Master by ancooper 2025-10-06T11:47:26Z

I made it through on my final heart! Wow, what a rush! That final sequence, thankfully I got it right first try (not sure if they are autogenerated, but I had a tricky one with a green card at the end). Had a lot of fun playing this game! It has a cool puzzle feel with figuring out ways to move around the map in a way you get the cards in the correct order. The way it keeps you moving with the decreasing bar and the heart count also really immerses you into the game loop, I thought that was very good. The pixel art here looks super good as well, I wanted to comment on that. The area and the main character look really amazing. I also like the shader effects a lot, I think they add a lot of character to the presentation. Very well done game, great job!

What's Left to Keep? by Foursay 2025-10-11T14:56:09Z

Very philosophical game. It is a genuinely wonderful thought-provoking take on the theme and what asset collecting means in our current world. I enjoyed the atmosphere it created with the simulation of an OS too, I thought the retro-future vibe with the scanlines and the sci-fi OS worked well for this type of discussion. Took me longer to realize the text input works by itself and doesn't need me to type than one might expect, heh. The trackplayer track is very somber and goes along well with the discussion with the narrator. Very unique, memorable game, great work!

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Card Store Keeper by Frogravity 2025-10-11T12:26:58Z

Lmao, I was already giggling when reading the description. Hilarious game through and through. From the cards (Yi'xyzquz, mysterious ninja and Dante were my favorites, lmao), the descriptions on the win screen to the whole setup, absolutely great. I managed to get all the cards, none of the players had "Sudden Adoption" until vict- until donor #295, so I collected quite a lot of foils as well. My final strat was to only focus on two tables (before that my strategy was detectionmaxxing, currently sitting at 25), it was super fun to try and get as many cards as possible, hehe. The art and sound effects are very cute, and work super well with the game. I already mentioned they're hilarious, but I also love how all the card designs for Return To Revenge of the Squirrels Remastered look, I think they look great! Awesome game!

Loaded Dice by Phoenix Fireflower 2025-10-11T13:16:41Z

Very fun deckbuilder game! My favorite strategy was to center my deck around flip cards, I feel like you can get a lot of mileage out of them, especially with tricky opponents centered around empty dice, like King Gradus and the sirens. I liked how snappy and fast the gameplay felt with the dice flying around, the sound effects made it very enjoyable as well. The animations and the character designs were fun (enfant terrible, heh) and I liked how it linked into their playstyle, e.g. the robot having a robotic playstyle centered around throwing multiple dice etc. Very well-made game, great job!

Creepy Collector by woona 2025-10-11T18:26:28Z

All the bullies have stopped going to school, haha! Quinn was my protagonist pick, I needed the money advantage, and the 26c rich kid pocket money saved me throughout the run. Leo was really the star of the show too, I laughed every time he introduced himself during the shop screen. The item descriptions and variety were hilarious too, I love the flavor texts on them.

Was super fun to play through the game, I thought it was balanced really well, where it wasn't too easy or too hard. I was hovering at around one heart after each round due to a mishap with one of the earlier bullies, I was super focused the whole way through to not let anybody get an additional hit in. Sound effects and art work well too here, I especially like the art for all the items and the sound effects playing when the bully is attacked with the various multiplications and resistances. Very cool game, great job!

The soul collector by Kit Gorn 2025-10-11T14:39:36Z

Super cool! I also did two runs, first I did a stealth run using the pathway to the right, the second time, I did a full frontal assault run. Super fun! I found strafing really works well against turrets from far away, streaming their bullets like you would in a bullet hell game. Again, super cool! I love the rock theme it had going on, with the voice lines and the music. The voice lines in particular are amazing, I love the demon's voice. Setting stuff on fire and firing fireballs is super satisfying, I like how that felt. Very well-done game, great job!

I don't care who the IRS sends by BlueDandelion 2025-10-06T16:46:48Z

Haha, I did it I escaped to Mars! Better invest into space shuttles, IRS!

Very fun game! Juggling money generation and defense made it very tense, my first few attempts were squashed by me getting too greedy and going for too much income too soon. But that last run, it just went perfectly right, getting the robot just as I need it and bang, even the guys with shields couldn't do anything anymore. Awesome design with the difficulty balance, super fun to play! Art and sound design are top notch as well, I love the animation of the crypto mining and the assets slowly filling up the house, that makes it feel great. Like when you hold the PC and it just speeds up, and you really feel the number going up faster, I love it. Again, awesome on those fronts as well! Super fun game, great job!

The Glasses Shop by sudocoffee 2025-10-06T18:10:45Z

I made it! I got all the orbs! I'm not sure if I got it all figured out in the end, but it seemed like you do reset to the top if you're not holding any orbs while falling? I used that to get the cyan orb, and then finally made my way to green! Very atmospheric game! I liked how the transparency effect on the geometry gave it an otherworldly appearance, I think that looked cool, especially the ending. Very fun trying to get the puzzle figured out, I loved when it all connected. I kind of just decided for myself that falling down is a game over, so recognizing that that initial assumption was wrong, and I had basically tricked myself into being unable to progress, felt really smart once I figured that out, I liked that! Very cool game, great job!

Far Fetch by bad_fetus 2025-10-06T12:39:49Z

After trying a ton of times, I managed to find a strat to get gold in level 2 (very shooting-heavy instead of trying to collect spheres manually, plus using the different floor types), but level 3 still has me beat gold-wise, heh. I think I could optimize by just rushing, dashing forward over the two huge chasms and shooting while in the air, but I'm not good enough to pull it off, I always have to do it after landing, costing me precious points.

far fetch scores.PNG

Had a lot of fun playing this game! It has a nice gameplay loop that pulls you into trying again and again to reach a better score. The levels have a good length, where it feels just right to try them again and again, I thought they were all well-designed and had unique interesting concepts to them. Liked the levels a lot, two is probably my favorite, trying different ways to get through and figuring out which routes work and which don't. Powerups were a nice touch as well, they added some cool variety to it. I also want to note that adding adjusting the mouse precision was such a cool addition, it was super nice, thanks a lot for taking the time to add it! That way I could make it feel just right for me, super neat. Great game, very well done!

Katamari Survivors by zexurge 2025-10-11T12:49:08Z

Lol, the success is yours speech! My best run came in at 3:50:

success is yours.PNG

My strategy was focusing on size over the other powerups, once I could collect the blue fence, it all came together. Genius take on the theme! Of course Katamari Damacy is the ultimate collection game, so a spin on that with some cool new elements mixed in is the perfect match for the theme. Amazing pick there. Also amazing how well you captured the feel of it, it was super smooth and felt super natural to collect all the items and grow bigger. Awesome game, great job, had a lot of fun rolling around in it!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Mortal Keybat by dob 2018-04-25T07:05:41Z

Dangit Jerry, every time.

I enjoyed the intro story and the whole framework, it was really well-written. I guess the ability to advance the text manually would have alleviated the problems other people had with its length, skipping it altogether would have ruined the story, at least for me. The gameplay felt very polished, I think you struck a nice balance of difficulty. During level one I thought it was too easy, but then the other levels happened and I got pleasantly surprised. On that note, the structure was really well-done, every level was more fun than the previous one. So yeah, cool idea, great execution.

FLAPPYKARUGA by mrnyarlathotep 2018-04-24T00:30:36Z

Tried real hard to get to 10000 but only made it to 8000 points on my best run before a high gate->low gate combo ended me. Tested it with a Xbox 360 controller for PC, so yeah, controller input works. I appreciate how many input methods you added to the game, both with the Q/E combo and mouse input.

I think it was interesting to see you improve Flappy Birds in a way that doesn't break the original's simplicity. Ikaruga's switching mechanic was a good fit, as it goes along well with the original concept.

As for the Flappy-Birds-with-knobs-on thing, I'd say that's only mostly true for the beginning. When multiple enemies start appearing, the Ikaruga stuff comes more into play and that's when the game becomes more fun than Flappy Birds. I had fun and some exciting close call moments past 5000 points.

Twine Walker by RockhopperGames 2018-04-25T14:11:46Z

It's a great take on the theme. Gameplay-wise, I'd think my only complaints would be that, at times, it was literally impossible to read the text due to the background and/or the text density. Other than that, I didn't know what Twines were before playing this game, so it took me a while to figure out I was supposed to "select" stuff (Though I guess that's on me for not googling it beforehand). I found it quite captivating and went through it multiple times. My favorite was the Tower of Chaos section, that had me giggling quite a bit. And you really had fun with that ledge level design, didn't you? Regarding the whole "rewarding the player" thing, I wouldn't worry too much about that, I think the branching paths were well-written enough to make the player want more. All in all, great job!

Ce n'est pas un jeu de pointer-et-cliquer by bobismijnnaam 2018-04-26T07:51:57Z

I think you really nailed the mood with that sound design. The changing name plates steered the player in enough of a direction so the puzzles didn't feel unfair or anything. Sometimes with these games you feel that you're just trying stuff randomly to get a reaction, I think you managed to avoid that pretty well. Very cool!

Kiss all the ladies by wramp 2018-04-26T07:34:23Z

I did it, I kissed them all!

I thought the genre combination was neat, you managed to put an interesting twist on it with the you-can't-build-on-the-way-back mechanic, that made for some cool puzzles. Would've loved to see more puzzles with the red blocks, I was sad to see it end when it ended. But hey, wanting to see more is the sign of of good LD game, right?

Hungry Rabbits by okacat 2018-05-10T15:04:48Z

Made it to 30 coins after a few runs, not sure what the average amount is, but it felt like a good run. You really nailed that satisfaction aspect, it's great to harvest that four-coin plant just a turn before bugs get to it.

I think the only thing I would have wished for was a way to manually discard cards, even at a penalty or something. Then again, not sure if that would water down the strategy part of the game. Either way, I got really into it, so great job!

mechROMANCER : a top down shooter dating sim about relationships by Useless 2018-05-10T17:16:06Z

Made it to the end too, after the final question I turned invincible, at least I'm sitting at -7 health right now. But I also formed an invincible bond with combat unit 00!

I thought it was fun (only thing I'd note is that the hit detection felt a little off), the humor was on point, and mixing shooting space bugs with ro(bo)mancing was a concept I really enjoyed. Great music too. Really cool!

Hyper Beat Engine by hypersnow 2018-04-23T04:04:19Z

You know a game is gonna be good if it has Hyper in its title.

I guess the most important part of a (50%) rhythm game is audio and you really nailed that. I has a nice untz beat to it. I'm also a sucker for vector-style graphics, you really went the extra mile with that, I love the design of the ship and the particles. There were a lot of nice details hidden here and there too, like being able to control the ship at the title screen, I only noticed that after the fourth or so time.

One thing I would maybe note is that the beat counter and the boost arrow keys felt too far removed from each other. The main difficulty when going for the boost was - for me at least - moving my eyes away from the beat counter and the road. Though I'd take that with a grain of salt, maybe it was only me.

So yeah, the gameplay is really unique, I keep trying to think of whether I've seen something similar before, but the best I can come up with is a part in Space Channel 5, but that was hardly a racing game. A great job on all fronts.

Survival of the Smartest by AMastryukov 2018-04-26T06:37:42Z

I won! I guessed the last two doors but it worked out somehow!

I got pretty spooked by the lighting and sound design choices. The background ambience and the door noises in particular had me scared. Whenever I was unsure if I got it right, walking through the door became a nerve-wracking experience, after all I couldn't know whether there was a jump scare waiting ahead or not. From what I gather from the comments, there weren't any jump scares in the game, but I didn't know that as a player, so I'd say the mood of anticipation was set perfectly. I also liked your take on the theme, it's the kinda thing that makes you snap your fingers and say "Of course". Great idea, great implementation!

Daxua by mainghia95 2018-04-24T15:55:19Z

It really covered all ranges of emotion. I did not expect the ending, I encourage everyone to play the game till the end, you will not be disappointed. Great job.

Shoot 'N Hockey by Adam Trzeszczak 2018-04-26T05:22:45Z

This. This is what ice hockey needs, giant spikes on the walls and projectiles. Fund it.

I think it was a great idea for the theme and a fun implementation. The violent death stuff and the surreal feel with the bumpers and the bananas gave me some serious Mutant League Football vibes, which was cool. Music went well too and helped support the game's mood, I'd say the sound design in general was really solid, with the bumper sounds, the cheering and the spike splish sound. All in all, great work!

Toppen Ultimate Anime Defense by DosWosh 2018-04-25T04:48:11Z

Whoa, I didn't know Studio Trigger took part in the LD. But seriously, this was hilarious. I loved every second. Usually, when games have RNG elements, they tend to break the game for me, but here, every card was useful so it never felt like you drew a dud, that was neat. Don't really have anything I didn't like, the only thing I'd note is that it took me a while to figure out I was supposed to click the health care packages and that clicking X to make the victory screen disappear feels a little anticlimactic. But those are minor nitpicks, like I said, it's a great game.

Type Ball by Yanni 2018-05-10T20:34:20Z

Got to level 5, I learned that I reallu have a tendenct to miss the y key.

The idea to scale points with distance was an interesting. Sound design worked really well, thanks to the sounds, I never had to look at the timer to know how much time I had left, I thought that was neat. Due to the quick game play loop, it's really addicting when you get into it, a cool take on the theme.

ASM Hell by vilix64 2018-04-23T05:41:01Z

It has a nice sense of pacing, the way the levels introduced more and more felt well-designed. I had fun playing it and progressing. The only time I got stuck was at the very beginning, because I misread the move syntax.

Blitzingo by spthiel 2018-05-10T17:37:12Z

What a brilliant idea, I loved it. Though I always seem to click away numbers that are actually on my board. Well-designed too, the random-numbers button was a good inclusion. Fun game!

TS 3001 by Alex Ferbrache 2018-04-24T02:27:51Z

Made it to the end, I really liked the way you used the level design to teach mechanics. Like shooting enemies to unlock the door or using the bomb to avoid getting trapped by lasers, I thought that was neat. All in all, I think it feels pretty polished.

Turn the Fight by Andreas Roschal 2018-04-26T08:06:42Z

Very charming game. I liked the design choices you made with this, like the comeback after your enemy fails their finished combo. Those kinda things show you put a lot of thought into gameplay. I thoroughly enjoyed it, great take on the theme!

Good Boy vs The Bad Boys by ludomyth 2018-04-24T01:47:00Z

"If you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." - Admiral Flopsy, shortly before leveling a building due to a lack of turn cards.

I think the lowpoly art style went well with the cartoon plot of a robot saving the city from UFOs. It felt very bright and energetic, the laser looked awesome and the enemies threatening, invoking some Metroid vibes. The music fits the mood as well, it's a real high-quality piece, whoever made that can feel proud. The voice acting was a bit goofy, but I think it actually fit with the mood the game was going for. The RNG based gameplay is both the game's biggest strength and weakness, I think. On the one hand, it can be really frustrating when you only get turning cards and straight shots while enemies move behind you, on the other hand, it adds a level of strategy to the game that the protect-thing genre usually doesn't really have. Like, do I use my spiral shot card now, or do I use something else and hope I get a turn card. Those kinds of moments make the game exciting. I had fun with it, although I absolutely suck, I can't make it past 2:30 no matter what I do. Good job.

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T15:36:54Z

I'm clocking in at 90, though I died a couple times due to panic-typing "sttrkrop" instead of "stop". attempts.PNG

I had lots of fun, it is the kind of game where you want to try again and again to reduce your score, which gave it a lot of replay value. It had a nice sense of balance and structure with the way commands are introduced. One thing I liked about the art style was the CRT shader(?) it used, I couldn't help but notice how much that improved the presentation of the game, together with the "juice" effects like when you mistype a command. Great work, you really put a lot of thought into this!

1on1 World Cup 2018 by Jaychitects 2018-04-23T23:38:52Z

Platforming and football is a cool concept, I look forward to see where you're taking it in the full release. The best feature is the players jumping on each other's heads, they should add that to the real 2018 world cup.

SHIRO NO OJO by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2018-05-10T16:31:50Z

I did it, I made the princess love me!

The red/green change was what kept me on my toes, it added a new layer of tension to the game play which I enjoyed. Most of the times I was overwhelmed by the demons was when I pressed the wrong button and got out of my rhythm. Thankfully, it's not that much of a death sentence and you can bounce back from that, that was nice. There were a lot of other satisfying design choices too, like the enemies appearing in chunks. I think the music helped elevate the game play too, it felt really fitting. The beat was a nice guide in timing shots. Very fun game, great job!

Impossible Car Game by Pahlsoftware 2018-04-23T05:01:24Z

I liked the humor, the quips after dying and the tutorial were fun. Oh, and the premise, the title is what originally made me interested in your game. Cool idea.

ZombieGun Clicker by Royerson 2018-04-23T22:59:51Z

Thanks demonic grandmas, always the greatest allies in a zombie apocalypse.

The game really took off after unlocking autofire, that's when it really shined. Firing the gun felt satisfying, my only problem was that at about 25 bullets/sec in both regeneration and autofire, you became pretty much invincible. Of course, I still kept increasing my bullet count, after all, you can never have enough bullets πŸ‘

LD59 — Signal

Follow It by jk5000 2026-04-20T11:53:36Z

Found the way of lights, I made the narrator proud, my life is complete. For good measure I also let the darkness consume me an another playthrough, truly yin-yang, it's all about balance.

Very atmospheric game! The sound design was really great in this one. The narrator voice lines and the sound effects were awesome, you did amazing with those! Also loved the touches of the light-turn-on sound effects being spatial, on my second playthrough I noticed that and could just keep moving without stopping pretty much, that was great! Definitely nailed the mood on this one, great job on this game!

Twisted Pair by pfeyffer 2026-04-20T17:03:58Z

I MADE IT! I was probably the slowest twisted pairer alive, but that sense of proudness I got when I finally found the final piece that put it all together- true bliss. Here's my completion score:

slowpoke score.png

So yeah, very satisfying puzzle game to play. The feeling you get when you finally find the piece that connects perfectly is just awesome. The effects are satisfying as well, the shortcut bzzz when you rotated something in a way that doesn't work is a nice signifier to keep going. Despite the wires going all over the place, the connections were always easy to follow thanks to the highlight, this is a very polished game, I thought it looks great. Sound is the quintessential puzzling banner, plus of course the aforementioned sound effects, I only now see that those were 3am sound effects with the occasional hissing, sound design is great as well here. Very cool game, very well done!

Lock by mahalis 2026-04-24T15:14:02Z

Made it all the way to level 16! It gets super challenging once the second set of outer rings gets added, that really pumps up the difficulty. Super fun to figure out the solution, reminds me of a futuristic rubix cube.

16.png

My best strat in the end was to break it into two steps to first get the colors into position of the signals, then rotate the outer layers until it fits, you can get pretty far with that as long as the initial position was correct (it wasn't on my level 13 and that took me a while to figure out). Super rewarding when it all spun into place after that!

Like I already mentioned, I love the feel of the game as a futuristic rubix cube. The signals were also a nice take on the theme, I liked the signal-changing devices and how they added challenge to the levels in a natural way, you could probably slap a third layer on top of that for some even harder turbo puzzle challenges, heh. I also like the sci-fi look of it with the bright beams and them pulsing in space, it really pops, especially when you play it in a bit of a darkened room. Very well done, great game!

Winnerman Scams a Game Show by 100th_Coin 2026-04-23T16:20:23Z

Gigachet as he was, no 36-year-old can stand against a time-traveling wizard and a 29-year-old, it's just science, he had no chance against my genius logic (after 13 hints from Winnerman).

Hilarious game, I recorded a video of me giggling at everything: https://youtu.be/ZyXwSKUQdXk

After rethinking it, I think I ruined my frame perfect run a lot by not immediately shooting the hand at the end. BUT STILL, as long as I call it a WR, it is, that's how it works, that's what I learned from Winnerman.

I gave most of my thoughts in the video already, but after rethinking it, another thing that impresses me is how well you interleaved the humor and the gameplay here. Especially the final part of the show, shooting the duck, you have the funny duck whizzing around, PLUS you also have it being a puzzle where you are actually supposed to shoot, so it's perfectly balanced both funny and challenging. Genius game design there, I like that a lot.

Kepler-186f by wisstopher 2026-04-24T16:00:00Z

Defeated the bot that was signalled down from heaven!

Very intense game, I love the signal weapon. It made for tense battles, I think it solves a fundamental issue of gun gameplay, that you have nothing to do while it reloads, with the signal gun, you are tuning it, trying to get it to the right frequency before you can fire again, that's awesome! Plus how you can keep it ready and humming, it's really an awesome weapon that makes its presence felt, reminds me of some of the more iconic halo weapons. And in addition to all that, it's also a flashlight so it makes the dark sections even more tense with your weapon drawn by default. Awesome design all around!

Also loved how everything looked, it perfectly portrayed the sci-fi feeling of a space station with its lowpoly art style, I really liked the colors used as well. With that and the sound design you really managed to build a great sci-fi atmosphere. Had a great time playing this game, very well done!

Signal Circuits by Alex Mulkerrin 2026-04-23T17:46:16Z

What a cool take on the theme! Using literal signal processing like this as a game idea is really cool! I must say, I didn't quite manage to build a clock, but I still got a lot of satisfaction when the the XOR gate and the SR latch finally turned green, just a great feeling!

I thought the way the puzzles built on each other and slowly built up your "arsenal" was really well-designed. Plus I loved that it saved the solutions! So when I was trying to build the XOR gate I could check the previous gates again, since my memory is a bit of a sieve. I loved that implementation. Another great thing is how it checks your input in real time, seeing it happen live is so much cooler than just getting a wrong or right message. Adding that in really added a lot. Super fun to play around in this game and see what signals you get out of the different configs! Great game, very well done!

Footsypool by Antti Haavikko 2026-04-21T18:02:18Z

Do you need to do set something special setting to get on the leaderboard? I made it pretty high, according to the current board, I'd have a shared second place, unless that's supposed to be me, but that's the Romanian(?) flag instead of the German one, so I dunno. Well I can still post it here, just look at this field, I could have gotten another shot maybe if I hadn't been stupid that round, but three million more for first place were very much out of reach:

world's fullest field.png

Super fun game! It's very addicting to see the combo number go up and up and up. There is a bit of a learning curve, but the quick gameplay loop really makes you want to jump back in and try again. Very well-designed and polished! Music and art is top-notch as well, I especially love the cute players and their little customizations. Great game, very well done!

Flirting 101 by OadT 2026-04-27T19:00:26Z

Yessss, the final level that brought it all together, perfect! Man that felt amazing when it clicked. The progression of the abilities is amazing in this game. I remember thinking it would be awesome if the puzzle incorporates realtime elements, and then it did! THere was always what felt like a tutorial level for a new ability and then a difficult puzzle with the new ability at its core, that was such a perfect learning curve. And then of course like I already mentioned the final levels bringing it all together. When shooting yourself came back after several levels as part of the solution... chef's kiss.

Also a genius take on the theme, dating signals is such a good idea, I love it. The retro art style worked well, I feel like it called forth some sokoban vibes, especially when the boxes and blast wave came in. And of course the sfx, the one when you get hit by love and hate are great, I love them so much. Amazing puzzle game, awesome job all around!

Fun game, when the block started cracking I was kinda thinking "Oh, is this going towards a drug/substance abuse message?" and I was very pleased when I got it right. Minimalistic art style looks good as well, plus the intro text sets the mood, I liked that too. Cool game that gets its message across well, well done!

Hell yeah, I conquered the map, shame I didn't have anybody to play against either, but I would have conquered them as well, I controlled enough phone booths to put a 90s kingpin to shame.

Very fun game! Incredibly charming presentation with the cell phones fighting by hopping against each other, plus the absolute banger of a phone soundtrack, I still have it on in the background while writing this, it's great. There are a lot of loving details in this, I think that's where a lot of the charm comes from, like the aforementioned battle animations or the implementation of the CPU player where you see what it's doing. There's also a great variety in the different options to pick, that's really awesome, lots of gameplay options and strategies here, either zerg rush, or build up your phone booths and build a dynamic army to take over. Very cool game, great job!

Lmao, I love the dialogues in this game! My favorite was the guy who turned from flunking his exam to top-tier villain in 9 messages, that one was the best. Second was the guy deadset on crashing his game, a king among men.

Hilarious through and through, you really accounted for everything in this, I loved how smoothly the conversations flowed into each other no matter the combination, super amazing how you made that work. Felt super polished as well, the manual connection of the conversations was super smooth and the bgm shifting is a bop as well (plus the cool shift from exposition to freestyle reflected in it). Hilarious game, great job!

Signal Interference by Phoenix Fireflower 2026-04-28T16:12:50Z

lmao, the tyranny we were actually fighting against, nothing could have prepared me. I fought hard, it was really close in my final battle, the enemy amplified some super attack that immediately reduced me from like 18 to 2. To be fair, I did the same thing and did expedite + amplify for a 16 attack with priority 1 on the first turn, but still! But going all in on that final round and just clinching the victory like that felt amazing.

So yeah, super fun card battler! Figuring out the best strategy was super fun! For me expedite did the hard carry, I upgraded all my scramblers to double, always had one to expedite each turn, and if I also drew an amplify, good night tyranny. I liked how many unique upgrades there were, plus all the different card types, I thought they were great. Like selecting between upgrades was hard because all of them sounded really useful, that's awesome when upgrades feel that way. Lots of depth in the design with charge cards and defense as well (and of course space for tactics like mine). The presentation is cool, the monochrome colors go well with the hacker/matrix vibes I think. BGM is a bop as well, I think it's got a nice cyber vibe to it. Super cool game, very well done!

Hell yeah, that was close, I didn't think I was going to make it after the first two took like 50% of my health, but I pulled through with tactical EMPs and some good old bullet spam. At one time there were 10 of them in the middle of the map trying to gang up on my, but I fried them real good, that was great!

So yeah, extremely fun game. Everything feels good in this, the hover tank tank controls feel very fluid, rolling over the terrain is fun, hovering over the mountains, shooting enemies, freezing them and blowing them up is very satisfying, there's a nice oomph to shots. Everything looks great as well, the effects on the shots and the EMP are super polished, same as the models used for the tanks, great job on everything! Sound design is top-notch as well, I love the sound the hovering makes, it's just super good. Love the framing story of remote work (the kanban board, lmao) as well. Very well done all around, great job on this game!

FM Escape by woona 2026-04-30T16:59:05Z

Made it through! Last chapter was a close call, it really kept me on my toes, but once I figured out the perfect 96->97->96 frequency combo to keep the turret doors closed, I could get through it before the press me button expired. What a rush! Felt great when I figured it out, using the doors to block turrets was a cool addition!

Love the design around finding the traps as well! Having them on multiple channels really created some tension moving around, especially on the second chapter, where they were in very tempting places. I also love the sound design, the beeps as you hone in on the currect channel, and the dying noises were very well done. Great take on the theme as well, using signals to navigate around hidden traps really worked well here to make a fun game out the theme. Awesome game, well done!

Sky signal by Kit Gorn 2026-04-27T19:50:42Z

Made it to the beacon! I also went the other route and found the green antenna, the environmental storytelling. The regular storytelling is amazing in this game as well! It has a very cinematic feel, with the game title intro in space. Jade's death was kind of a storybeat highlight for me as well, I liked how Anastasia kept talking about Jade afterwards, rediscovering her importance after her early death really makes you go "oh so this wasn't just a nameless droid that randomly died in the beginning". There's also a sense of tension when Mars' battery doesn't fit and you kind of wonder if you can even reach the beacon with what's left. You can, but you don't know that in the moment, so the final ascend is really tense, I liked that. I never actually got stuck, there were some close calls, but I felt that wiggling the mouse left and right usually got me free somehow, I thought this was pretty solid actually. Mood-wise, I love how everything looks, it really sets the alone in space feel with the motor sfx chugging along, the sci-fi signal beeps and the spacy rock formations. Also the sfx were fun in this game, I noticed how they changed when you moved the camera closer to Sky, that was really cool, these spatial effects were awesome. Great job with this game, very well done!

Traffic Control by Alec Cunningham 2026-04-23T18:10:42Z

I did it, I ended traffic worldwide. All it took was 44 sacrifices, may my beautiful worms rest in peace, in worm heaven if you will.

Absolutely hilarious, I was laughing at it all the way through, the explosions, the carnage, the voice lines (the worm cop is in CHARGE and he's really good at this), absolutely beautiful. I loved it, great job on this game!

Trailwork by sudocoffee 2026-05-07T20:15:34Z

Very chill game, I like the atmosphere it creates. Just spinning and vibing until you hit the debris and can make another running attempt for one of the beacons. Orbiting around and jumping across the parts that make up the geometry to other places has is a cool mechanic, like others already mentioned it also looks great the way the level geometry pieces rearrange. I found four, I think, if we include the hallway from the start, I got pretty lucky with the running start from the hallway and went a couple beacons beyond. Couldn't find any way to reach further though, would have loved to see what it leads up to, but after reading the second hint, I guess this might just be as far as I could go. But still, the intended vibes of the game got across extremely well, like I mentioned I love the chill spacey otherworldly vibe it created. Not just with the geometry rearranging, but also the sound design, with the signals the beacons send out, I think those were neat, as they got louder or quieter while you orbited. Made you feel like a satellite. Very cool!

The Message by Matt Giuca 2026-04-20T17:22:00Z

Lol, the endings! Loved the selection between both of them, I used the level select to go back and pick the "wrong one", great that you added that in!

Very fun game! Worked well for me. Took me a while to figure out the code frequencies, but the helpful interfaces and tooltips pulled me through, worked like a charm. Very-well designed game! Great take on the theme as well, signal decoding as a game is super fun, I loved the different decoding stages and how the signal was converted + decoded during each stage! Had a great time with this game, very well done!

Under Signals by 13pilgrims 2026-05-07T17:53:17Z

I did it, I got the Vigilant Sentinel ending even on the first try! The mimics stood no chance. For good measure I also went back and let through all the mimics and got the Port Compromised ending, always five out of five, hehe.

Super fun game! I was very intrigued by the description that you have to both keep an eye on the signals and your instincts, I liked that a lot. There was that one case where a ship comes in that by all accounts should be asking for help, but their Q4 signal is that they want to resupply or offload I think. So yeah, not letting them in. On that note, the different signal categories were cool, figuring out what each of them meant. During the first ship, the first thing I did is go through all the quadrant signals in the manual and figure out the patterns behind them, felt great when my patterns were vindicated by getting the correct ending. Very cool take on the theme as well, signal comparison against a different set of patterns is a super fun take on it, and I think it was implemented extremely well in this game, very well done!

Through the Dark Forest by tweekus 2026-04-21T17:25:57Z

I did it as well, I scraped through on star 11 I think, it was getting a bit close and I was worrying I might have skipped too many, but it all worked out and humanity progressed. The only one that got me was the star with the rings, looking back, avoidable, but that was a dang cool star even if dangerous, I had to report it.

Very cute game! Looking into the sky and vibe checking new planets was fun. I liked that the mission statement was a bit more vague, I feel it kept me on my toes, especially in the beginning, and it didn't feel unfair, like after a while you figure out that "yeah it's probably the stars that look like they aren't real stars" and that's neat when you figure it out, I like that. The art is cute as well, I like the look of the main scientist. The ability to get a little rest in the bed was cute as well, that was a nice detail. Very well done game, great job!

Signal, Frog by SteveOfStevesGames 2026-04-20T13:16:21Z

>You should not squish the frog, that's cheating

Literally 1984

But memorized for future runs, I made it up to 423 (would have been 424, but I whiffed on LITERALLY the last click). I'm an extremely slow clicker so I doubt that Any% WR is going to stand long, but here it is:

world record.png

The signal frog really rules the field, if you click when he's angry, you're cooked, especially with the time loss. It was always really tense when he was awake and doubling the points and you want to squeeze out a few more of them, but he's about to turn- That got really tense, especially near the end when things go faster and faster. I like how the different systems played together, the green light reversing things really means you have to keep an eye on everything, trying to keep an eye on both the frog and the light, that made it very fun, you can't just mindlessly mash clicks, you have to mindfully mash clicks, I thought that was pretty neat design, great job on that! Very well done game, great job!

Mixed Messages by Ben Morledge-Hampton 2026-04-20T15:43:37Z

That rascal Jim, I should have known. Absolute mad-lad final image as well, knowing how Jim feels about egg-based sandwiches.

Worked fine on itch for me, I had a blast. What a genius idea, a typing game based on a bad signal and you have to type out the rest of the message. It was super fun figuring out the crazy stuff being sent and slowly figuring out the truth behind it all (dehydration? No, could it be-!). The way the signal kept getting worse as well, I needed several passes for the final hard ones. Loved the appearance of the hut as well, Smokey cameo and the wifi mug, perfect. Loved it. Amazing take on the theme, great job with this game!

Green Screen by beareye 2026-04-20T11:29:50Z

I did it, I found the nodes and my work for the company was appreciated!

Very immersive game, it really draws you in with the way you switch between the buttons and the display. That plus the CRT computer noise, and the button sfx, you really managed to capture that feeling of sitting in the dark with a computer monitor late at night extremely well! Gameplay was a cool tight loop, I always had to weigh checking just one or two more nodes against the potential system collapse, that gave a nice feeling of urgency to it. You can't use the buttons and see the node properties at the same time, so you had to make decisions there too, I thought that was neatly designed. And for me it was a real nailbiter, I had a couple of collapses and restarts before I managed to find three nodes in a row (I was lucky, they were all close to the starting node). Very cool atmospheric game, great job!

Trot in the Poly-verse by spooooodermon 2026-04-23T19:53:37Z

Trot has escaped the poly-verse with me as well! I struggled a bit with the level with the small path with the tight corners, but I made it through in the end! Feels super satisfying to try different signal placements to jump through the levels, I especially felt tactical in the tower level, taking verticality in account, and the final level, spacing out the signals to just get enough juice to make it to the end, super fun! And in the aforementioned tight path level, a tactical signal to jump over most of it. Super satisfying to figure stuff like that out, combines the best of a puzzle game and a platformer!

The music and art style gave it a nice sci-fi aesthetic and mood. Trot is cute, the screen face and the monowheel also have that cool retro-sci-fi aesthetic, I think. Great game all around, very well done!

ECHO signal by SilentWander 2026-04-20T13:00:05Z

I think in the 90k range is where I clock out, for some reason between 80k and 90k I keep going down, it's the greedy miner's fate.

my sanity.png

Super fun game! I kept jumping in trying to improve my score, trying to get a good balance between scanning and not-scanning to drive up the money. The upgrades and the shop made it a fun It's a great take on the theme, using echo signals to analyze minerals is a fun application of it. The gameplay loop is very fast-paced, so you want to immediately jump back in for another round. Very well done, great job on this game!

Inside a Sun by bonedaddy 2026-04-20T12:10:03Z

Rest in peace star, I made it out before the implosion though, I lived!

Very fun exploration game! By the end of it, my solar dissipation beam made the sun look like swiss cheese. It's just fun terraforming the environment like that, heh. Backtracking to new objectives through the tunnels, digging new ones, listening to the audio cues for the target. Really a fun hunt with a fun digging mechanic. Great job on the game design here! Loved the audio as well, there was something about the sfx and the background noise that just draws you in, I think it really built that sci-fi space exploration mood. Great job on this game, very well done!
