LD59 — Signal

Misplaced by manabreak 2026-04-20T06:46:41Z

The dynamic music is really nice. I'm guessing the mechanic where landing lights up the surrounding area is the part that ties into the theme. However, I ran into a bug: when you carry a crate toward the elevated platform on the left, you can't drop it while you're up high—otherwise the crate gets stuck on the platform in a spot that's hard to reach. The little details in the falling and trapped dialogue are pretty amusing. Overall, well done!

MOTHER by Parxer 2026-05-08T12:53:36Z

The concept is really cool. The color palette and atmosphere blend together in a clever way, the theme is applied very naturally, and I really enjoyed the sound design as well. Overall, well done!

Signaler Signal by khaotom 2026-04-21T05:05:03Z

The graphics are weird but funny in a good way—really charming. The movement mechanics and how you make use of them are quite interesting too. Overall, well done!

Static by drtizzle 2026-04-21T05:19:03Z

Minimalist geometric style—I have to say, it's really charming and quite friendly for someone who's a bit squeamish about little creatures. The ability to hold down continuous fire is also very kind to my mouse. And the top-down view very kind to my eyes. Overall, well done!

Signal Overload by ursagames 2026-04-20T06:09:52Z

Tap the spot , hide the area , with a bit of input delay . I guess that input delay is the whole point of the Signal theme.. Adding some audio would definitely improve the experience . The graph signal mechanic is understandable in concept, but becomes kind of unrecognizable once the score reaches around 20,000. Overall, the game is basically functional. Well done!

Highest in the world by CaptainDreamcast 2026-04-21T05:29:55Z

Really charming, especially all those little details. The hand-drawn pixel art blends so cleverly with the overall style, and the way the theme is applied is quite interesting too. The audio is also pretty good. Overall, well done!

Dr. Cool Whale Against The Electronicles by Yorsh 2026-05-08T13:56:29Z

The level of polish is really impressive. The theme is applied in an interesting way, though it might benefit from a more intuitive way to distinguish things. The art style is very cute. I think it just needs a bit more polish and tweaking to become even better. Overall, well done!

Zone Out by ConradoClark 2026-04-22T08:07:59Z

The signal radar mechanic is a good idea. The horror watching also has a really oppressive, tense feel. Controlling a floating astronaut while managing fuel and energy to find keys is a funny concept too(I guess the inverted visuals are supposed to give you that floaty zero-G vibe). Overall, well done!

Licence to Fine by IndigoWolf 2026-05-08T14:08:13Z

Really interesting design, and a great fit for the theme. I can feel that a lot of tough trade-offs were made along the way, and what you've ended up with is something with real potential. Overall, well done!

Monolith by William Corrin 2026-05-08T14:34:47Z

I can really feel how many tough trade-offs you must have made along the way. The final result is a really solid piece of work. I'm sure there are still plenty of ambitions that didn't get fully realized. Overall, well done!

Robo-Miners by Wizard 2026-05-08T13:22:48Z

The audio is really fun. However, tweaking the goal structure—like adding upgrades or something—could give the game more potential. The backstory makes good use of the theme, though I feel it could be woven into the gameplay even more cleverly, maybe with more applications of the signal. Overall, well done!

Distress by Kagerowo 2026-04-20T08:12:53Z

Compact and charming, nicely finished. Simple but elegant. The way the audio and graph work together is ingenious—it really nails the atmosphere for the Signal theme. Though I found the text style a little difficult to read at times—might just be my eyes adjusting. Overall, well done!

Kittenbaticorn by UkuleleFury 2026-04-24T10:36:43Z

The visuals are adorable, with the pixel cat, and the sound effects are really nice too. The way it ties into the theme is very interesting. The overall style feels very polished and mature. Overall, well done!

Catch the signals by Fifut 2026-05-08T13:40:11Z

Really nice. The way it handles the theme is interesting, and the sound design is great too. Though picking up and using the boxes was a bit confusing to figure out. Overall, well done!

Obey the Signal? by RetenQ 2026-05-08T13:14:18Z

A work with great potential, the mechanics are very interesting, and the design around the theme is well done. Overall, well done!

Bird Man Signal by Kobato Games 2026-04-24T10:42:07Z

Nice Twine game. The story flows smoothly, and the theme is woven in very naturally. Overall, well done!

Hadopelagia by Sirplop 2026-05-08T13:10:44Z

The theme is applied in a really clever way. I also really liked the sonar mechanic. Overall, well done!

Out of Signal RTS by quasilyte 2026-05-08T13:30:28Z

Unbelievable that this is a Compo entry. The polish level is really impressive—atmosphere, art, audio, effects, gameplay, and even the theme integration is cleverly done. If the enemies had a few more mechanics to work with, it would be even more perfect. With some extra polish, this could be an even stronger piece. Overall, well done!

Outpost by henk 2026-05-08T12:45:22Z

Truly outstanding work. I think this has even greater potential to become an excellent game. The theme is integrated very naturally, the mechanics and atmosphere immerse the player naturally, and the art style and writing hit just the right note. Overall, well done!

Téloche by Magalix 2026-04-22T08:29:46Z

Wow! This is truly fantastic work. The way you've woven the theme into the game is ingenious, the mechanics are wonderfully "distinctive," the art style is cozy and pleasing, and the audio hits just the right note, the level design is pretty solid too You all have done a great job! Overall, well done!

Data Dungeon by MizAless 2026-05-08T12:34:23Z

Morse code? Anyway, it ties into the Signal theme quite cleverly. By the way, I really like the hand-drawn diagram you included. Overall, well done!

Morse Fishing by JonaGameDev 2026-05-08T14:18:58Z

Morse code? It ties into the theme pretty well. For someone who's already good at it, it might play a lot smoother—but for people with zero prior knowledge, it's probably a bit too tough. The frustration is a bit too much at times. It's a bold attempt, and I hope you can find a better way to make it more accessible in the future. Overall, well done!

ECHO-7 by Crowelian 2026-05-08T14:38:26Z

The visual style blends really well with the game's atmosphere, and the sound effects are also quite fitting. Overall, well done!

Signal Rush by Pavel.Cherepanov 2026-04-22T08:16:54Z

You're being way too modest. The visual style is incredibly comfortable to look at, and the gameplay choice fits perfectly. The way it ties into the theme is just right. This is a work with serious potential. Overall, well done!

Without Brakes by Shernik 2026-05-08T14:23:57Z

Great music, and the visuals are really cool too. A very solid entry. Overall, well done!

Trot in the Poly-verse by spooooodermon 2026-05-08T13:49:24Z

Wonderfully inventive design. The graphics are quite good, the level design is solid, the theme is applied really well, and the music is nice too. I think this kind of unconventional setup is exactly what needs to be showcased here—so you can get more honest voices in return. Overall, well done!

On My Signal! by brolga 2026-04-20T07:32:09Z

During the positioning phase, if you press Space too quickly, the placement box will persist for the rest of that round. The combination of upgradable block collisions with the Archer is interesting, but the Archer turns too slowly and can't adjust its aim after locking on. Plus, the fact that you lose as soon as your units are gone puts the Archer in a somewhat embarrassing spot. It leaves the Archer feeling a bit out of place. Overall, well done! I can feel it's a game with enormous potential.

Haha, that was totally intentional—to show the insanity of chasing money and overworking. (Okay, fine, this guy just never got around to fixing the bug. After all, it finally worked.) Thank you for your comments!
