LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Delay the Inevitable Explosion by Kobato Games 2022-04-05T01:19:11Z

Note: This game is made in Quest Text Adventures which I had HEARD was versatile and supported by web and mobile, but it looks like it actually will not play outside the Quest software. It can be published to Quest's database, though I do not think it is accessible outside the software. Maybe there is something I am missing, but the jam is over at this point. It is on itch.io if anyone has Quest. Sorry for the frustrated comment. Hoping to figure out something better in the future.

Edit: Here is the link for the Quest software if anyone is interested.

Delay the Inevitable Explosion by Kobato Games 2022-04-19T21:49:50Z

Thank you for your kind comment. I had not expected anyone to even try to play the game, let alone take the time to give feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the game and I added a link to download Quest.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Growth Spurt by Cole and Jordan Studios 2022-10-21T03:15:45Z

I had a great time with this game. It was fun, the concept was executed well and I love the leaf eating sound effect that (to me) gave the impression of the giraffe being a hedgetrimmer vacuum XD. My only criticisms are that the first small plane was kinda hard to see once the giraffe got really tall and I did not realize the movements were mouse-based at first because it did not say so in game.

I would definitely recommend uploading a web version from Unity so more people might try it.

Game Name by Strega 2022-10-04T16:19:12Z

This was a really great concept, though I am not the fastest person and got a bit overwhelmed having to rush to do things every ten seconds without breaks. It might have been less overwhelming if the game did not advance to the next level until the user clicked continue. Art was great and the game did a good job showing every aspect of Ludum Dare, down to advertising and rating other peoples' games. Great crash course for anyone who has not yet tried Ludum Dare.

The Curse of Tencond by Harry Alissavakis 2022-10-05T01:04:20Z

I had so much fun playing this game. Could not get quite fast enough to find the cure even with all the hints. I'll have to try again another time. My favorite jokes were the gatekeeper jokes :)

[WebGL/HTML5] Music Demon by leorid 2022-10-06T22:33:00Z

Cool game. I liked the variety of music. Took me a bit to figure out I could double jump and move crates when I had consumed enough people, though I was able to piece it together.

Déka! by spyranteros 2022-10-06T18:36:51Z

I like this take on ten seconds. Reminds me of a minigames you might find in a point and click games.

Wizard's Basement by Kongo 2022-10-07T01:08:27Z

Great art, though I found myself getting a little confused at times about what was going and what I was supposed to be doing, though it made more sense once I reread the instructions.

Office Madness by Cookie_CHR 2022-10-05T01:28:41Z

That was a fun game. Guess I'm playing as the IT specialist considering how often I am having to give passwords. Do none of my coworkers know how to click "I forgot my password" so they can change it through their email XD. Art was simple, but it did not need to be complex and fit the game well. Good submission.

Goop the Lab! by Adam Gallina 2022-10-08T23:11:44Z

I did not expect to find such a polished game with upgrades, etc.. This was very well done and I would not have assumed it was a jam game made in just three days if I did not know it was a jam submission. My one question is what is the purpose of the "Take more hits" upgrade? When the lasers turn on, the slime just gets bounced into the next laser and there isn't really anywhere I can move in between. Is it more like extra lives for landing on spikes and getting hit by the laser when near a delay button?

The 10 Second Chicken-Plant Curse by Kobato Games 2022-10-04T16:30:09Z

@andreish, @zhelding, @seansmeedcomposer -- I can't take credit for the art. They were creative commons assets that came through my software. Thanks for reminding me I forgot to add the credits. I am putting them on the game page now.

The 10 Second Chicken-Plant Curse by Kobato Games 2022-10-04T17:36:50Z

@diler I will probably tweak the glow effect on the gem and crystal, though I do not know how much I will do beyond that. If I do decide to make a postgame version with more platforms and crystals, I would probably make the plant transformation last 5 seconds, since ten seconds is a long time to be stuck standing still...

The 10 Second Chicken-Plant Curse by Kobato Games 2022-10-10T20:31:59Z

@adam-gallina I think do recall wishing I had time to research adding a visible timer while making the game. Thank you for reminding me. It is definitely something my game engine is capable of doing.

Witch Upon A Star by WhaleJam 2022-10-05T14:53:52Z

@kostas-nik While it is not referenced in game (that I found), according to the description, a star disappears every 10 seconds and if they all disappear, Stella will be stuck a ghost forever, so there technically is a 10 second theme even if it is not emphasized.

Witch Upon A Star by WhaleJam 2022-10-05T21:04:51Z

This was a good game. Music was really well done and while the backgrounds could have been better completed, what was there was beautifully done, especially for such a short work period. The art and music set a nice mystic mood and I like that your implementation of ten seconds did not make me feel as rushed as other some other games in this jam. Good job :)

Labyrinth of Darkness by lonagi 2022-10-04T15:46:47Z

I had similar issues with lagging. I could not tell if the game was actually lagging or if the character was just getting stuck to the walls. It might have been lagging because I think there were times I got stuck when I was not touching a wall. I was playing the web version.

Besides lagging/getting stuck, I had fun with the game and appreciated that the first level had no monsters so I could get the hang of the mechanics.

LD54 — Limited Space

Stingy Seating by stevenjmiller 2023-10-05T23:04:46Z

Silly question -- how do you get the kids off the bus upon arriving at school?

Stingy Seating by stevenjmiller 2023-10-06T03:03:07Z

@stevenjmiller Thanks. I got through the first level, but now I'm stuck on level 2 because the only place I can find to drop off the kids is on the road at the back, but once you go down it, you can't turn back :(

Stingy Seating by stevenjmiller 2023-10-06T15:49:41Z

@stevenjmiller Thanks for the video. Level two's solution makes so much sense, I just couldn't think of it XD. I'll go check out the other levels.

Stingy Seating by stevenjmiller 2023-10-08T19:42:36Z

This is a clever puzzle game. Struggling a bit with the learning curve, though that's part of the challenge.

Tiny Island by ghpxi 2023-10-06T03:38:45Z

Fun. It would be nice if it had some background music. I was playing this CC0 8bit song in the background while playing. Don't know if would fit your game.

https://opengameart.org/content/8bitmusic

Six Seats Left by F1Krazy 2023-10-09T20:45:02Z

This is a great game. Reminds me of the story games I keep replaying looking through the IF tagged games on my favorite game sites. No specific critique. I supposed you could have added some background music, but the game did not desperately need it and the silence (outside of conversations) might even have better fit the mood.

Edit: just favorited it on Newgrounds.

Falling for my Majesty by edugpinheiro 2023-10-07T19:16:39Z

That was really fun. I don't feel it emphasized the theme as strongly, it was a really well made game with a great presentation.

Floodwater by John Gabriel 2023-10-05T02:23:42Z

Very well done game. Graphics are really good and it was nice being able to learn the new features in waterless levels so I was free to fiddle around and decide what it was supposed to do.

Bug's Museum of Fine Art by kristinamay 2023-10-20T18:20:28Z

Wow, I never imagined I would be making a pixel art reproduction of the Mona Lisa -- came out terrible, yet still somehow looked like the Mona Lisa. Always fun the different games made in these jams :)

Diana's Magical Journey by GameDevTraum 2023-10-09T21:01:20Z

This was a beautiful relaxing game, though was confused to see you were accepting ratings on Theme since (unless I missed it) there was no reference to limited space.

Leapfrog Solitaire by 0x746564 2023-10-10T20:14:48Z

Neat card game. I'll probably come back to play it again sometime :)

Commission Hell by crow_seeds 2023-10-04T01:02:28Z

Fun and unique. It was a little hard to pick up at first, but that I think that was inevitable since it's such a different game. I like the voice acting of the clients and especially had a laugh as I was rushing to achieve the requirements of the (6th?) drawing and distinctly heard the client say "I want the canvas to be between 20-40% black and add in a dog. I feel this represents my relationship with my cat" XD

No Room at the Movies by Kobato Games 2023-10-04T14:24:57Z

Thank you @syntaxxor, @nick-baggett, @themixedmaster, @jason-shapiro and @derek-glennon. I was in a rush to upload an must have copied the edit page by mistake.

@syntaxxor -- glad you liked the game.

No Room at the Movies by Kobato Games 2023-10-05T00:14:44Z

Glad you liked the game. Thank you for taking the time to go back and play it. I guess you could always call the piracy ending the "What you should have done in the first place ending" XD

No Room at the Movies by Kobato Games 2023-10-07T14:31:01Z

@addaellis, Glad you liked the humor :)

I have never seen that error ever that I recall. Might be a sign your antivirus is very finicky, you need to toss your cookies/clear some space, or maybe check your driver connections. Googling the error would be your best bet -- I'm no expert ;)

The coop of Galloseppe Arcimpollo by Sharkgirl 2023-10-05T13:54:07Z

Hi. This is an interesting concept and I really like the art for the rooster. You may already know since you said the web version was not fully working, but wasd/arrows did not work for me. The click arrows worked, but it's hard to move between them quickly.

Packed to the Gills by npckc 2023-10-04T16:00:37Z

Cute and a fun concept. I can't believe this was made with Ren'py. A good engine, but I have never seen it make something so different from a VN. Must have been a lot of work.

My one issue was that I never figured out what to do in level 4 when the giant fish was taking up the whole car.

Moon Settlers by Alex Duh 2023-10-09T23:18:29Z

Is there a way to cancel a building if you picked the wrong one or it does not fit? I lost two rounds just because I had selected a building that would not fit on the moon and their was no way change buildings or pick up the pick ax.

The Long Night of Augustus Brandicourt by Norah 2023-10-05T23:58:02Z

Good story. I got a bit stuck looking for new items to interact with near the end and ended up watching 100th-coin's playthrough because I wanted to see the end.

Moksha by Papus Games 2023-10-09T19:00:47Z

I'm stuck. I saw in the comments you can feed the worm to bird, but I can't get it to work :(

Moksha by Papus Games 2023-10-10T15:07:24Z

@papus-games Thanks. I forgot RMB can stand for Right Mouse Button.

Inventory Manager by GaryNinja 2023-10-09T19:19:06Z

Not sure what plans you have for the game? I could see it fleshed out as level based game where each level had more complex and oddly shaped items that needed to be fit into the inventory. Maybe even some breakable items that can't be on the bottom or under heavy items. Another submission called "Loot Goblin" did something like this if you want some ideas.

https://gustavokado.itch.io/loot-goblin

Room Life by Hinamarina 2023-10-12T15:37:47Z

Good representation of burnout. I liked the art and Alina animations were really well done.

Out of Spacetime by bellicapelli 2023-10-12T01:24:56Z

Neat idea. Never played a game about a blackhole before.

Cat Escape by Micah Harker 2023-10-05T23:56:42Z

Decent game. It would have been nice if the right and left arrow keys worked (instead of just the left hand keys), since I kept missing the jump because I pressed the wrong keys.

Cat Games by alzhu1 2023-10-04T16:08:16Z

Cleaver take on the theme. Wish I could give the game a rating. Had a little trouble at first because I was trying to press arrow and space at the same time, which apparently is not allowed.

LD55 — Summoning

Cat and Box by benpigchu 2024-05-03T14:38:51Z

Awesome puzzle game and funny we both made puzzle games about summoning cats, though this one is much more developed. Would have been nice if it had some 8-bit background music, but still good. Probably one of the best games I've seen in this jam. The concept of being able to place a cat within the four cardinal directions around you was unique and fun to fiddle with :)

Isekai Hussle by Shess 2024-05-03T19:08:19Z

Clever concept. Like all the various heroes and potential gifts, though there was a lot to keep up with.

Bail Out! by Historymaker118 2024-05-02T15:55:27Z

Fun game. Too bad you did not get time to make a soundtrack for it. Don't know if you're already aware, but there are a lot of creative commons/CC assets and music on sites like itch.io and OpenGameArt that you can use so long as you give proper credit. Of course, I know from experience picking the right track can take a lot of time too ;)

Late Night Summoning With The Boys by bbaf 2024-05-04T00:00:38Z

Fun random game.

Resurrection Bar by TwoE 2024-04-18T03:12:52Z

Hi. Unfortunately unable to play your game :( I downloaded it, opened the .exe, waited a minute, but the screen stayed black. No music, loading bar, or anything to indicate it was doing anything. This is something that happens to Godot games sometimes. Some people can run the game, but others never get past black screen. I once downloaded a game other people in the jam were able to run and loved, but I never got past a black screen with music (so this game might work for other users). Unfortunately, I am not a Godot user, so I cannot give you any suggestions, but I am sure other users might have some ideas.

P.S. I am on Windows. Hope you can get the game working, because it sounds really fun :)

GODAI: The Ninja Way by exofrenon 2024-05-03T23:54:43Z

Really cool game. Not very good at these sorts of games, so I never got past the first stage, but still had fun. My one question was how did you include the theme -- was it applied to summoning elements?

GODAI: The Ninja Way by exofrenon 2024-05-04T01:15:56Z

Thanks @exofrenon. Just didn't get far enough in.

Lucky Little Darlings by Emiliabea 2024-04-20T19:57:59Z

Nice game. Good luck on making the full version.

Cat Summoning Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-04-17T00:00:12Z

@kaedalus You mean like the old riddle about the fox, the hen and bag of grain (or some variation) where you need to get them across a river, but the boat only seats two? That was actually the inspiration of this game. Meant to put that in the description, but forgot :\

Cat Summoning Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-04-18T15:06:11Z

@kanity Congradulations was a typo. I always forget it's not spelled with a D and my software has no spellcheck.

What I had been thinking of doing after the jam, was adding the rules are displayed on a sidebar, with the variations being added each level. Thanks for letting me know I definitely should focus on adding that.

Cat Summoning Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-04-19T20:04:04Z

@pacelin That's a good idea. My software does have sound toggle switches I figured out how to use in other games, so it should be easy to add it to this.

Cat Summoning Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-04-19T20:07:18Z

@jaxah Thanks. I did experiment with adding a pixilated effect to the background, but even small pixilation was just making the background look messy.

Cat Summoning Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-04-19T20:09:13Z

@isacb Glad you enjoyed the game. The cats are a CC0 asset in the engine I used you can get here: https://luizmelo.itch.io/pet-cat-pack

Cat Summoning Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-05-03T00:49:45Z

Thanks for playing and pointing that out. I guess it's actually a happy accident that I did not end up deactivating the other buttons until the info window was closed, though. As someone else noted, it was hard to remember the requirements, especially since the old ones weren't restated in the next levels. I had liked the idea of adding a side bar with the cat's requirements, but I guess this was the next best thing for the jam version.

Creature Conjurers by Tao Yuanyue 2024-04-16T22:59:18Z

Great game. It was fun experimenting with the various combos, though I have yet to find Edric.

Don't Get Summoned! by busisen 2024-04-18T02:57:34Z

Interesting. Hard to keep up with the tasks, though a little easier the second time. For the window where you have to tell your coworker 3 types of things, some of the words were way too long for me to finish in time. For example, 3 types of continents, or 3 types of berries (unless the game accepts just the berries prefixes, since most berries contain the word berry). Typing out Africa, Antarctica and Europe was not something I could finish before the task ended :( In comparison, 3 types of animals were easier to think up shorter words I was more used to typing -- Bird, cat, fish.

Otherwise, I liked the graphics and interface and the humor was clever.

Don't Get Summoned! by busisen 2024-04-18T14:30:04Z

@busisen You're welcome. Good to know it accepts some shorter berry names. In hindsight, I could have done Asia instead of trying to remember how to spell Antarctica within a few seconds. Maybe some of those mini games are more doable once you replay enough times to figure out the faster options.

An Apprentice's Journey by Just_A_Cat 2024-05-01T00:58:32Z

Fun game. On level three (I believe), I glitched when teleporting past the light chain mid-jump and got stuck in the top shelf of the bookcase. (Unfortunately no way to upload images here.)

Bomb the slime to survive! by Istade 2024-04-19T21:05:12Z

Fun, though crystals spawning on the edge of the screen don't seem to pick up when I go over them and the crystals themselves (or the blue character) might need a slightly bigger hit box, since it seems like there are enough times I go right over a crystal and it does not pick up. Also, and maybe this obvious, just what is the crystals' purpose?

Manku the Magician by PorChor 2024-04-18T23:44:53Z

Wow. Really well done game. Surprised I've never seen a game where you play as a live streamer before. Seems like it was made to be gameified.

Summons by Talif Moor 2024-04-16T20:32:35Z

Yeah. Butler was a bit slow. If you sped him up, it could make the rounds run a little longer. That or decrease the speed of the stat bars. And maybe this is just something you did not have time to implement, but having a corresponding sound effect for each nuisance (ring, knock, bang and a teakettle steam sound or something for getting the tea).

Despite it's "sketchiness," I really did like this art and found the game itself simple to play.

notepad game by CREEPERYEET666999 2024-05-01T14:40:18Z

Cool game. Short, but interesting. Wish I could leave a rating.

Aphrodite's Day Off by RileyKhin 2024-05-01T14:29:14Z

Images did load for me. Love the art work. Would appreciate a restart button at the end of the game.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Demons On My Desk by seurimas 2024-10-10T00:21:38Z

I unzipped the game and tried to open the .exe, but it just opens a black window, then immediately closes :(

Zig Zag Bug by Papaver 2024-10-18T16:30:55Z

I keep pressing the arrows, but most of the time, the bug does not move, is the game lagging or do I have to press the keys a certain way?

Zig Zag Bug by Papaver 2024-10-18T17:40:35Z

@papaver. I'm in Chrome. I'll give it a try again later.

Mouse House by johnnysix 2024-10-13T15:31:09Z

Cool game and great art. Unfortunately had to stop at the second (level) because no matter how carefully I jumped, I always hit the mousetrap.

Tiny Paws by EX3D0 2024-10-17T21:11:03Z

Visually this game is well polished, though execution is way too fast, as others have said. I did not even notice the instructions in the right corner until half way through my second playthrough. Having an instruction screen under a play button for each round could not only help new players learn the ropes, but allow all players to pause between rounds, since this is a very fast paced game.

If You Give A Mouse A Machinegun by Shaolin Dave 2024-10-10T00:27:24Z

Funny game. I like the mouse's design and scurrying legs XD. I think it would have looked better to reuse the mouse's idle animation for jumping as opposed to the running one, but having it's crazy legs running in the air probably best fit the spirit of this game.

Tiny Apple by DocGeraud 2024-10-18T16:17:27Z

So, everyone in the city is happy and the only conflicts ever are when people or vehicles (or seagulls and buildings) aren't paying attention and crash into each other, then as soon as you click on them, they're all better XD. This game was fun and you did a good job spreading potential collisions across the height of the screen. Animations are simple but fluid. A well made engaging not-too-idle game :)

Morgi Rescue by starvingindie 2024-10-17T00:54:59Z

Great visuals and nice music. I had to play through a couple times to figure out how to save the Morgis. It was figuring the right steps to for the best ending. You might consider adding a Skip Intro button post jam for people replaying to save all the morgis.

gottaBEEthere by Hengen 2024-10-25T16:59:38Z

Nice environment and a neat 3D twist on Flappy Bird, though hard to play as others have said. WASD does not really move the bee/screen as fast as space makes it jump. I would also suggest removing pressing W to start, since clicking Restart, then pressing W to start was kind of redundant, especially since I was having to restart so many times XD.

P.S. Still a cool submission and I hope you get those last two votes.

Play With Me by gord10ahmet 2024-10-10T00:05:14Z

Nice game. I like the graphics and atmosphere and the creatures were really cute. I came to a bit of an impasse after -- Spoiler!

-the second animal died. Left the remaining creature unfed after for a while, but nothing happened. Is there supposed to be an ending beyond just having one animal left?

Towerfall by Avi 2024-10-18T16:23:30Z

Cool game where the character can bounce off anything but the floor. Very innovative. Sometimes I had a hard time clicking fast enough, but I ten to have slow reflexes.

Twilight of the Forest by Perrin 2024-10-17T22:46:01Z

Had a great time playing this game. I really enjoyed the story and visuals were done. Battle system was a little confusing at first but I figured it out.

Shrink by Halogen 2024-10-17T00:26:36Z

Graphics are really nice and the concept of a growing/shrinking character is fun. Making the timer a little shorter, say about 2 minutes, would work better if you keep the game this length.

Cute Animal Jigsaw-like Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-10-17T03:04:59Z

@andriana-mantidfly I had a lot going on during the jam and ended up with only a few hours to create something. I thought I was going to do a text based game, but was struggling with inspiration, so I ended up assembling this mini puzzle.

Cute Animal Jigsaw-like Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-10-18T16:24:59Z

@papaver That's actually a really cool idea. Never would have thought of it. I should try that for a platformer sometime. Thanks!

Cute Animal Jigsaw-like Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-10-22T17:12:38Z

@oliver-day and @ex3d0. I had thought of making a longer game like this with more levels. Might at some point.

a pixie perfect fairytale by WeeFairyFabi 2024-10-17T23:44:31Z

Really clever immersive story and the pixies were very witty. The only part I had an issue with was the dust might game. It might have been okay if I were using a touchscreen or mouse as opposed to a laptop touchpad, but it felt like I was dragging my cursor all over the place, but they were always moving faster. I had to take a break and come back to finish.

Slimecube by JonasO 2024-10-25T21:19:41Z

Really fun cute game, but definitely include in the instructions to drag the items to the hole at the top. I kept trying to drag it in the front of each room.

Spirit Quest by AppreacherOne 2024-10-13T15:34:52Z

LD version has this error after it finishes loading "Failed to read the 'serviceWorker' property from 'Navigator': Service worker is disabled because the context is sandboxed and lacks the 'allow-same-origin' flag."

Going to go check the itch version.

Edit: Finished the itch version. I like how there were so many different ways to explore the areas and the size changing was neat. Definitely needs music and some parts were confusing, like sometimes I was not sure where to go. If possible, it would also be nice if there was a way to tell if the items were (spoiler) based on their location and appearance, but I know that can be really hard to accomplish without being painfully obvious or so confusing the player has to guess instead of think.

nothing by belron 2024-10-17T00:44:36Z

Maybe someday, you'll actually create this odyssey :)

Stuart's Perfect Day by James Poole 2024-10-18T15:28:43Z

This is a great prototype. Music is spot on and the art has a great vibe, despite/because of minimal coloring. If you were inclined to fiddle with the drawings, having the mountains reflect in the water and some clouds drifting by overhead could be a ice touch (I think a lot of game engines have reflections built into them or available through extensions or plug-ins).

Glad to see you plan on continuing this game. I think it could come out really good.

a tiny HUGE escape by EricNS 2024-10-25T19:25:14Z

Great game. Lively background music and cool how all the characters follow your cursor/you don't have to go back and fetch each character :)

Hop up ! by ZWEG 2024-10-17T00:41:37Z

Cool game with a nicely animated frog. Nice that hitting the obstacles doesn't lead to an instakill or level restart like so many games default to. It just slows you down a bit and you keep going.

LD57 — Depths

Lily Adventuresses! Episode 3: The Explorer Sisters and the Deepest Depths [Pr.] by moonlightbomber 2025-04-09T02:20:23Z

Just finished the game. It was fun. Fortunately already had EasyRPG because when I tried to run without it, the same error window opened up a million times and I had to zap it with Task Manager. Oh yeah, did you know you can use EasyRPG to make RPGM 2000 and 2003 games run on a webpage?

Loon lagoon by geometer 2025-04-24T14:13:11Z

I can't figure out how to build. I drag the items onto the map, but they don't stay -- even the plant that only costs 3 shells, so I definitely should be able to afford it.

Loon lagoon by geometer 2025-04-24T18:53:43Z

@geometer Glad I could help. I never saw the item light up, but I also did not know to be looking for it. I'll give the game another try.

Out Of My Depth by okuar 2025-04-08T16:48:24Z

I know it was probably part of the concept, but the movement felt way too slow for me. It might have been especially frustrating because I'm having to hold down a mouse button (as opposed to just keep my finger on a touch screen).

I don't think I've seen the game you based it off, though I did once play a slightly similar about moving a black square. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to find it because I only know it from an old ExtraCredits video on YouTube. The game was called Isolation, you advanced up across a white screen. There were other black squares, some alone, some in small groups. The end result was that even if you tried to interact, nothing would happen and the game would end once you got to the top of the screen and show you a statistic about Korean middle school students feeling isolated. It's probably not the one you recalled, though. You might try a Reddit. I recall they have threads on trying to find random games like that.

Depths by robertino 2025-04-25T18:59:44Z

Nice. Maybe someone already mentioned, but the music stops after a few minutes. My game had the same issue because I forgot to set it to loop

Turtle slide by Ansible 2025-04-21T20:11:38Z

Struggled a bit with the slipperiness, though the art is fun and creates a surreal environment, while the sound track is very relaxing.

Reclaim You Soul by Kobato Games 2025-04-08T18:59:07Z

@whole-garbage-sale Thank you! I do want to add an ending cutscene where the character floats to the light, returns outside in human form and walks away. I might also add a simple code for the door instead of the reason fragment reminding them how doorknobs work (my original plan), though I have no plans on making the game significantly longer at this point.

Reclaim You Soul by Kobato Games 2025-04-09T19:05:15Z

@brain-dead-rabbit-games, @dubiousduck, @hoichael and @okuar -- glad you're enjoying the crawl jump because I never knew it was a feature until now :D. It was supposed to be you pressed Z to crawl and then pressed it again to stand. I thought of making crawling slower or something so that the player would be encouraged to stand back up but had no time to even consider programming that. If I was thinking properly, I would have made it so the player could only crawl if you were holding down Z. However, since the player staying in crawl mode adds a such cool feature, I'm going to leave it. I'm just going to add in the explanation you press Z to crawl and press it again to stand back up. Actually, I'm going to change the crawl button to the down key since it makes more sense and is easier to reach.

Thanks for your input everyone :)

Reclaim You Soul by Kobato Games 2025-04-13T02:24:38Z

@wouter52 I did not get the music added until the end and forgot to turn on the loop, but it was supposed to. I was trying to limit the player's jump height so that they could not jump over the door, which made it hard to set up the other jumps just right. I'm increasing it in the post jam version. Thank you.

Reclaim You Soul by Kobato Games 2025-04-24T01:51:19Z

@rbbhn Thanks. As I mentioned in earlier posts, the flip jump was an accidental feature. The game was supposed to be winnable with normal jumps, but I reduced the jump height a bit too much so some were apparently really hard. I get not get to add music until the end of the jam and forgot to check the loop option. Glad you enjoyed the game anyway.

2D INFINITE MINE by Cafe Spectrum Studio 2025-04-26T00:52:06Z

Great prototype for being made in a few hours. I found no bugs and the controls were very smooth and a fun game to play. Just rated. Hope you get 20.

Wamps Hate Falling Apples by Tod Semple 2025-04-24T15:01:33Z

Really fun game I am definitely coming back to play again, but it really needs a better explanation as to what each object does. I know they have a bit of an explanation under the upgrade, but I still found myself really confused for a bit and it would have been nice to read more an explanation of how the game works in the description.

Delve Into The Depths by RyanAnsberry 2025-04-24T20:56:27Z

Game looks really nice and digging for treasure is a cool premise, but feels bland with no sound. Even just a thud when you break the blocks and a click when you get treasure would improve the game, though some lively 8-bit background music would really set the mood. Maybe you already know this and just did not get time to search for audio, but sites like OpenGameArt.org have great creative commons assets you can legally use for free.

Deep Dreamers by Hinamarina 2025-04-21T20:51:03Z

Beautiful game, but I can't figure out how to jump over the first barrier to get the girl?

Echo of the Lost Soul by milu raien 2025-04-08T18:53:50Z

I like the cute moth character and how it spreads its wings in the air, though the game was confusing. As you tweak the game, I would suggest making the collision mask on the moth smaller so it does not "float" on the edge of platforms. (When the feet are off the platform, it should fall even if the wings are still touching.)

Fishing Therapy by Dadidou 2025-04-21T20:01:00Z

Fun game. Controls were simple to use, though it definitely needs some audio, at least for the shooting.

Tentacle Tumble by Yoshiappel 2025-04-21T19:55:27Z

Decent game. It was really easy to escape from the diver -- until it caught up to me out of nowhere and I had just hit the ground so I could not get away. It would be nice if there was a stat telling you how far away the diver was and it lit up or something to let you know the diver was getting close. Still liked the idea and figuring out how to avoid hitting the ground so I would not lose my speed.

Slippery Socks by Alpaca 2025-04-10T13:49:54Z

I had the same issue as @pandalk

I also found it frustrating I could not jump forward more than a few pixels unless I had a lot of acceleration. Visually the game looks really nice and vibrant and the soundtrack is cool. It was fun even though I could not play all the way through.

Echo Abyss by Brain-dead Rabbit Games 2025-04-21T20:58:32Z

The set up looks nice, but the ship moves too slow for me to dodge the red spots of doom :sob:

The Shallows by Ljs132 2025-04-24T16:58:34Z

Fun game! I enjoyed hunting for necessary items and there were enough "distinctive" locations I could navigate without getting lost while still needing to think a bit. It would be nice if there was a visible money stat instead of just the depth stat.

LD58 — Collector

The Mysterious UNIT-Y by JustMars 2025-10-21T16:55:31Z

Visuals are great and there's some pretty cool items inside. For some reason, the GPU on my old laptop goes up to 100% despite the small area of each unit, so it might be good to add some graphics settings.

Curio by anothersomething 2025-10-21T17:40:47Z

Nice atmosphere and interesting dialog. Wish there was a way to play through more quickly to try again and please the collector.

Candy Crunch by RubixNoob13 2025-10-21T16:47:59Z

I got stuck at a popular house on my first run and after about a minute or two, I still was there and had to refresh the game because I was worried I'd be there the whole run. I avoided all popular houses in the next runs I did, but I feel the description's implication was the game was supposed to be encouraging us to limit as opposed to avoid them.

Otherwise, graphics were nice, the concept was fun and there were enough factors to consider while choosing houses to make me think, without being completely confused

Cryptozootography by Jahwffrey 2025-10-21T15:02:02Z

The graphics were beautiful with a fun colorful mismash between 2d and 3d. A little detail I liked was that the hawk had a shadow. I was glad to see at the end that we could scroll through an album of the photos because I wanted to see them again. I appreciated that the character walked the path automatically so that I could just focus on taking photos. Guy's monolog was funny, though the one line at the end about ramen being back on the menu felt off because he had $27,000 in photos. On the other hand, he definitely could buy a lot of ramen with 27k

Block Head Meat Mage by Paul Merkamp 2025-10-24T19:11:34Z

I'm having the same issue as @wormkingboo

30 Days in the Fog by NBumgardner 2025-10-15T18:42:25Z

Relaxing game. Some of the icons and sub-icons were a little confusing. Would have been nice if there was an optional tutorial or side bar explaining them.

Harold Babysits by Kobato Games 2025-10-07T23:27:14Z

@uniowl Thanks. The spot that says you cannot go that way is likely the path Henrietta walked away on. The purpose of the message is to acknowledge yes, that is a road leaving the map, it's just not a place you can go. In my experience JRPGs often try to tell the player that. The slime battle is supposed to start if you interact with it after you find all 4 pieces of wood and save Vera. (Click the spot at the base of the cliff below her.)

I really had thought the short linear plot of rescuing 3 kids with simple collecting tasks was a small enough scope. Unfortunately, I did not get the idea until nearly 24 hours into the jam and ended up with some IRL stuff slowing me down. I did debate submitting to the Extra section instead so I could finish it better, but decided I really wanted to submit to the jam even if that meant having to cut the game short.

Harold Babysits by Kobato Games 2025-10-09T17:02:51Z

@lizz Glad you enjoyed what I was able to finish. Thanks for taking the time to read the description/pitfall warnings. I made a conscious decision to focus on story and humor over unique or challenging gameplay in order have a completed game within the timeframe. Wish I had been able to actually finish, but am still really glad I managed to get a fun, mostly working game submitted.

Harold Babysits by Kobato Games 2025-10-21T15:03:50Z

@anima-animus049 Thanks :smiley:

Harold Babysits by Kobato Games 2025-10-22T14:49:26Z

@fireslash Thanks for your feedback. I have been working on fixing the bugs and setting up the ending. Gonna be a basic 5-10 min game and should be ready after the voting is done.

RPG Maker has been finding its way onto the web for a while now. The two most recent versions of RPG Maker, MV and MZ, both were designed to be played in web and mobile as well as PCs. And while there is no built in way to export RPGM 2000 and 2003 games to web, there's a free fan made program called EasyRPG that allows devs to export browser compatible versions, though I have not gotten to try it myself.

Harold Babysits by Kobato Games 2025-10-23T00:04:24Z

@7uc4s Sorry about that. There's an error where if you accidently fight the minator along with the three bats, you get an extra bat battle and more than 6 string and the rope event only triggers when you have exactly 6 string. I've fixed that for the version I'm uploading after the jam

The Collector by Kazuren 2025-10-12T18:58:00Z

This game looks really neat, but unfortunately it's one of those Godot Windows games my computer would not load. All I got was a black screen :frowning2: I've had this issue for a while and have no idea why. It only happens with the Windows version. When a dev uploads the exact same game in browser form, it runs fine

The Collector by Kazuren 2025-10-15T17:00:12Z

@kazuren I just downloaded the Windows compatibility version and it worked. Thanks.

Archives of the Collector by MatthewDrake 2025-10-22T02:06:39Z

Great escape game with a lot of fanciful objects and humorous dialog . Saved it to my itch collection so I can play again sometime.

Forgery Frenzy by Katelyn Trout 2025-10-12T19:20:21Z

Really fun concept! Played classic mode, but am going to try again in zen mode so I can actually finish more of them XD

It was a pretty big skill jump between the first and second painting with the new pallet having so many similar shades of gray, though the simple style of the first one did a good job helping me figure out the ropes with low pressure.

Aster by fueki 2025-10-12T18:45:31Z

I'm stuck on (Day 4?). The only interactive item is the transmitter thing at the top of the new ladder, pressing E does nothing and I have no other items in my inventory. I can't interact with the human or my bed anymore.

LOSS by anima_animus049 2025-10-21T03:19:48Z

This is a beautiful game. The story sounds complex, so I can see why you wouldn't have had time for an English translation. Hope there might be one after the jam.

Debt by AcidofiL 2025-10-23T00:01:47Z

Nice. I'd been hoping to find a VN this jam. Might have found an error after the (true end?) where the dialog suddenly jumps to the end of the conversation that leads to ending 2.

LD59 — Signal

Signal of the Dark Forest by Tygrak 2026-05-05T02:25:02Z

This was different. I really liked it. Story had interesting philosophy and I liked fiddling with the 'radio.' My screen was a bit shorter than the game, but fortunately this did not cut off any of the images or dialog.

Blipp by vidarn 2026-04-21T20:57:00Z

Beautiful game. Wish is was a little easier on my GPU, but I have that issue with a lot of games. Something about the style and dragging objects and characters to advance the story seemed familiar, so I checked your page and found I'd played one you'd made in the past about mice moving a very small seed. Glad to see you're making more in the same style :)

Sneaky Signals by almost 2026-05-05T01:59:38Z

I agree with @maxwell3000. It was confusing the first round, especially with none of the signals meaning anything (that I understood). The card game itself was a fun concept though.

Lignas by Akadream 2026-05-08T15:57:24Z

Awesome. Was a tiny bit confused at first, but figured out what the screens needed pretty quickly. Added to my collection on itch. Hope you can make more levels sometime.

Jim's Quest for Birthday present by Sobigdrasil 2026-04-22T02:14:25Z

Really fun. Very relaxing and I really enjoyed scouring the beach. Having alternate dig keys next the move keys caused me trouble at first, because I kept pressing them by mistake when Jimmy was nowhere near an item and having to wait through the dig animation. Got better as I went, though I would suggest maybe using just the space button as the dig command.

Jim's Quest for Birthday present by Sobigdrasil 2026-04-22T15:11:19Z

@laminariy Thanks. I actually did find the Space button first thing. Just found it frustrating I kept triggering dig by accidently pressing E or F when I was trying to press a move key.

Cadence of Glob by Orjan 2026-04-25T17:56:36Z

Fun game. I like games with text, so no complaints about the amount of text. There was a lot of non-text gameplay too. Happy Birthday to Ricky and Glob :)

Obey the Signal? by RetenQ 2026-05-08T20:44:26Z

Cool. I played it a couple times. I wish you luck in further development. A small note that the message at the end of most of the levels says "Congratulation" instead of "Congratulations."

Bird Man Signal by Kobato Games 2026-04-21T21:01:43Z

@gamayun-games I had not recalled there was a movie superhero called Birdman. I was trying to parody Batman's bat signal with some, random superhero name that had not been used yet. Should have googled . Glad you enjoyed the game.

Bird Man Signal by Kobato Games 2026-04-23T16:40:55Z

@kanity Thanks. I had to type up the game quickly and Twine doesn't have spellcheck, so errors were inevitable. I'll fix what you found after the jam :)

Bird Man Signal by Kobato Games 2026-04-26T16:36:40Z

@baturinsky Thanks. I had to upload quickly before going somewhere. I'll fix it.

Bird Man Signal by Kobato Games 2026-05-06T01:26:56Z

@gideongriebenow Thanks! I've gotten up to 24 ratings now :sparkles:

@zettelkasten Glad to hear it's comfortable for phones. That's one of the nice things about Twine. Seems to work on a lot of platforms and supports the fullscreen button.

This Is Fiiiiine by mitur 2026-04-22T17:48:09Z

@itero-proto I just finished playing it and clicking Options on the start menu sends you to an inescapable grey screen. The rest of the game is playable from the post jam browser link . The first browser version hides much of the screen, making that version unplayable. No idea about the downloadable version, since I did not play that one.

Untroubled Bliss by Gamayun.Games 2026-04-21T21:42:28Z

Cool. Did not expect the ending. Took quite a few rounds and some brute forcing to pass the test. You hid some of the answers well. The system should have just given me a pass since the study material was barely readable :)

Justice by Strogorofobaldo 2026-04-24T18:54:44Z

Game isn't working for me :(. Downloaded the Windows version, tried to open the .exe and all I get is a black screen that crashes after several seconds. Tried running as administrator and had the same issue.

Justice by Strogorofobaldo 2026-04-25T18:13:19Z

I did unzip it. I clicked on the .exe in the same folder with the .pck.

Justice by Strogorofobaldo 2026-04-27T15:39:11Z

@strogorofobaldo That's okay. these things happen sometimes.
