This was an amazing concept and I loved playing it. Only issue was that in the web version that I was playing it kept lagging
Nice concept! However, I also had the problem with lags in the web version, and I believe there is some room for improvement balance-wise. I think, the arrow in the bottom right helped a little too much, and the enemies didn't really do anything, at least it seemed that way. In any case, very good concept, and keep the good work up!
Really clever use of the theme. I played to level 5. Was hoping I could pick up a new weapon along the way or something!
Fun concept I had fun trying to get around the different walls that would come up if I took too long to get through. I downloaded the Mac version of the game and also experienced some lag that web based players are also seeing. It happened when there were many entities on screen. I hope you had a fun game jam creating this game. Great job!
@aiden-crossfield thank you for your feedback. It's a pity that Unity compiles webgl worse than pc, mac version
@jonas-michael thank you for your feedback! Unf, it is. Last build for webgl is worse than first versions
@andrew-hoyer Thank you for your comment! We'd like to add some new guns and enemies, but maybe in future we'll do it!
@c4ris , Thank you for your feedback! It's good that you played on a Mac. I think cross platform is very comfortable! I've been playing on Mac too and there is some lag in our last build, unf
Concept is good and gameplay was fun. I played for several minutes and i really enjoyed it! after level 6 game started freezing time to time. But it was fun!
@01edward01 Thank you! Yeah, I think the game is freezing because of many mobs spawned maybe
Brrr... Creepy!)
Fun game with a concept I think you could take even further! Lovely contribution though, the maze changing mechanic fits the theme well!
Good job, it looks like you have potential
Fun concept! Some mobs got stuck in walls when maze was changing:)
I had similar issues with lagging. I could not tell if the game was actually lagging or if the character was just getting stuck to the walls. It might have been lagging because I think there were times I got stuck when I was not touching a wall. I was playing the web version.
Besides lagging/getting stuck, I had fun with the game and appreciated that the first level had no monsters so I could get the hang of the mechanics.
The game is very atmospheric with interesting gameplay
I really like the eerie feeling of this game with the background music and the arrow leeding my way is a good touch.
I noticed that i started getting some lag spikes when i got into level 2. I think maybe its when enemies spawn and die? I was playing the WebGL version so that might be why, not gonna take anything away from the rating due to the spikes.
--- I played again, but not in the WebGL and it seemed fine this time. To anyone coming in here, i recommend downloading the zip and try it again.
It was very hard for me to find a game that I can play on the browser, but I managed to find this one. I'll just get into it.
This game was fine at the start, not that exiting. But then at the next level, there is a lag spike that happens every 3 seconds or so. It was a pain to get, and the monsters aren't even that much of a challenge either.
This mechanic would make for a great horror game (and judging by your choice of sound that's the atmosphere you've been aiming for). Experienced the lag on windows build, but otherwise it was fun
Played the game to level 11, I like the concept of ever changing dungeon, I was myself contemplating a similar(ish) concept. I like that you utilize fog of war so there is an element of randomness as to where you go. Works well in webGL
Nice concept, pretty good game overall! But I don't know why in some levels we are faster or slower. I feel it needs some more effects when we kill a monster, or different locations to get out the room to make the game funnier, but I read that you are already on it. Good job to your team!
Hey, I played your game on the stream - twitch GGame86 Exit is always above, make an exit in different places, has reached 13 level
Please give my game a try if you have some time!
Great concept. I had really bad lag in the web version, but I may try the downloadable version if I hadve time. Some more sound effects would ahve been great, but overall a nice game.
Fantastic concept, but laggy, ithink you should try polishing it and it can be marvelous :)
Hey thanks for sending your game to me on stream :) I got to level 20 and enjoyed it quite a lot. Glad to hear you'd like to continue working on it as I think there's a lot of potential to do so. If you can fix up the lag and add more enemy types / weapons and maybe even some traps then I think you'll have something very good here. I think maybe randomising where the goal is as well would add a lot of variety to the game.
Excellent work so far, really hope you keep going and I hope to check it out when you have a new version :)
Nice game you guys have here. Felt pretty immersive going through the dark labyrinth in the dark as an adventurer. I had some lag on web gl when entering a new level and the combat felt like it had no feedback. Overall cool game!
Nice game and great concept on changing maze!
I tried to download your game from itch but it says your account has been flagged for suspicious activity...
@jag , thanks for your comment. Hmm.. strange because I checked and didn't find this problem
Web version is lagging, but the concept idea of the game looks good!! ^^ Congratulations for the hard work, the mechanic of keep switching the environment of the level was very creative and fine.
Hmmm as everyone I had some lag whenever there is enemy on the map. Are you running some kind of shortest path algorithm on them? This might be the cause if you run it every frame and there is some problem inside. Apart from that good job!
The Unity web build is lagging a lot. I would reccomend trying Phaser or GDevelop. Otherwise, great idea with time-shifting labyrinths!
I played this on my stream! [Here's a link to the VOD](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1619345236?t=4h28m00s)
I was also having a bit of a lag issue with the web build sadly :(
I just played through level 23, nice idea and mechanic, with great potential too! Maybe it will be more challenging if the player's hp will not fully recover at next level.
While I had an unfortunate laggy time with it, the music did its job in immersing me well into the gameplay. The mechanic was decent, but I felt that the warp every 10s didn't really throw me off as much as it could.
Thanks for sharing and making it, was fun to play a few levels of it!
Good concept! I liked the forever changing labyrinth and the dark mood was well set with the darkness and the looping short music clip :)
Graphics were good, I laughed when your hair flipped when you changed directions. The swinging animation mas a little misleading as it was an arc but the real damage seemed to be full circle.
I played to level 30 and saw no mentionable change between levels... Except, why was the player faster on some levels than others? The game seemed to lag more after each run (I played the windows version).
Possible upgrades to future versions: - The enemies were too easy, they should have done more damage at least. As someone said, health should probably not reset after every run. - There could have been sounds for swinging the sword, hitting an enemy and getting hit, as well as the labyrinth switching. - There could be a visual warning what blocks will change before they change, maybe a second or so before the actual changes. Also visual cues for taking damage and maybe some knockback on the enemies would be nice. And they could leave bodies when killed, or have some kind of dying animation. - A difficulty/advancement curve would make the game interesting. Enemies could get harder or there could be more of them. And there could be loot as weapons, power ups, health potions etc. the possibilities are endless :)
Anyways, good start for a game! It piqued my imagination for many things it could turn into if you continue to work on it.
@tomssuli Thank you very much for your detailed feedback! We're happy to know it. Maybe we could work on this game and release it !
