LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Colorful Memories by Ayxs 2020-10-07T20:31:10Z

Really love the looping effect! This is an extremely solid game. Job well done!

NightmESCHER by Rodrigo Denúbila 2020-10-05T22:29:12Z

I love the graphics! Very interesting gameplay

Gravity Blade by chainedlupine 2020-10-05T21:41:03Z

I dont see a download link for your game :o

Faithless Land by Swynfel 2020-10-06T05:13:26Z

Amazing game! I really enjoyed this, its a very unique idea for a card game. Has a very relaxing feel to it. Honestly very well polished for a gamejam entry.

Hyperloop by R3L0ad1 2020-10-05T20:11:31Z

I absolutely loved this game! I love rhythm games that give you this sense of speed! This is so impressive for a compo, what a job well done. Did you make the music entirely yourself? Because that is one sick beat. I love that you added a hard mode, I need that challenge!!

Purgatory is a Music Store by MattWoelk 2020-10-05T21:19:02Z

This is honestly one of my favourite submissions I've come across so far. Its something just so unique and out of nowhere. I booted this up thinking, its a game where you just play a bunch of notes? And I had my doubts when I realized there was no gameplay here besides pressing notes and listening to dialogue. But as I kept going I found myself kind of enjoying slamming away at my keyboard for no rhyme or reason. It can't be a coincidence that you chose a specific set of notes that blended so well with the song and jamming away felt so natural.

Great job Im actually blown away.

Zog's Hopeless Abyss by ramza 2020-10-05T20:58:29Z

I am so conflicted on what to comment for your game! On one hand this game is so cheesy but on the other hand I actually found myself smiling and laughing the whole way. At the end of the day I enjoyed playing this! Thanks for the submission. I have one question though, is the game looping on itself? I went through a green portal and I seem to have returned to an earlier level. Can this game be finished?

Loopomotive by Tamas Turi 2020-10-05T21:31:22Z

Very well polished game! The visuals are very pleasing and music choice is great. It feels like a game for a kid at the moment so maybe a bit more challenge would have been nice. Overall I loved it!

Loop Industries by Simone 2020-10-05T21:24:10Z

That was a fun game! I actually enjoyed the visuals, they look great!

Ekko by PierreNS 2020-10-05T20:27:36Z

I absolutely loved this game! I really enjoyed this. I think what really stands out here is the graphics. I loved that low fps (reminds me of diablo 1) idle animation. As for the game, you guys did what I think 99% of programmers think of doing, but cant pull off. Having a version of yourself (a ghost) run around and then solve puzzles in that way is no small feat at all. Fantastic job! If I had to criticize something, I have to say that the game could benefit from more instruction at the beginning, or a tutorial, because for the first few minutes I was completely comfused about whats going on. I love the while(false) at the end!!

Time Crash by Gonzalol 2020-10-06T21:46:43Z

Great game! Its amazing you did this over one weekend, I feel like this could go on the app store right now

TALLY MARKS by de3sol 2020-10-06T16:03:01Z

Nicely done!

Knock, knock... Boooooo by FussenKuh 2020-10-06T16:09:50Z

This was funny! haha Im glad I stuck around for the orange pun at the end. I liked the popping sounds and animations, nice job!

Chamber by Pedro Medeiros 2020-10-06T18:20:09Z

This is my favourite game of the jam!!

Hamsta's Paradise by brookman 2020-10-06T23:12:11Z

As a developer I am so impressed with what you guys achieved in 72 hours. This game is actually a big deal especially given you guys made the whole things yourselves.

As a gamer I was so frustrated with how stuffy and claustrophobic it felt haha. It was unbearable trying to maneuver around tight corners. But I still enjoyed this! Great work

Quit the Cycle by Oblivion Games 2020-10-05T22:45:41Z

Interesting art design! I think youve chosen the ambient sound effects well, I reallt felt myself getting into it, but what exactly are you supposed to do? The NPCs seem to be speaking gibbering "(^#(*^(".

Hyper Racer by X_Pilot 2020-10-06T01:14:59Z

This is easily one of the most well done games Ive seen so far, such a great job!

Fault Outcome by VPhyre 2020-10-07T20:25:38Z

Excellent game! I think you two have incredible potential. I really love the spooky vibes this gave me

Deep Winter by Copito 2020-10-07T20:08:18Z

Really great art style. It has a very relaxing vibe to it. Although I must say reaching the end and just seeing "Oh Henry just died" The end. That was pretty disappointing haha

Magical Marissas Troubles with Time by TheseusInABottle 2020-10-07T20:12:04Z

I actually really love this game! The fact that this is a fully complete game that was honestly quite fun to play is amazing for a compo entry. And yes the music had me giggling the whole time haha

Loopita's Dream by vetu11 2020-10-06T21:54:29Z

I love the art its so well done! And the music is relaxing too.

SUPERCONDUCTOR by mnursey 2020-10-05T22:20:00Z

Fantastic game! Incredibly challenging, but very good!

The Nightmare by SaltFactory Studio 2020-10-05T21:40:20Z

The monster design is interesting but I felt the level looked very empty and I honestly didnt know what to do. Im running around and I just get caught and go back to the start.

Loopertary by BinaryPrinciple 2020-10-06T01:23:01Z

Interesting concept! I love the simplistic graphics. I was having an issue aiming down, like I can aim in every direction except down. Also sometimes my shots would whiff through enemies. Still great!

Loopertary by BinaryPrinciple 2020-10-06T02:12:28Z

Ah okay well either way it was fun!

Tone by Akio 2020-10-05T22:01:08Z

Fantastic game, I really enjoyed playing through it! It got a bit frustrating in some parts but honestly I love games with a bit of challenge. I think the idea of a looping color changer is so unique

Looped Chaos by KDgame 2020-10-06T02:00:55Z

Interesting game, its just like Super Hexagon

Coalescence: Battle System Prototype by Seth Tal 2020-10-07T20:03:54Z

I love it! Its a very interesting concept of choosing three members of a party and then watch the duke it out from the sidelines, but you're kind of cheering them on and giving them buffs. And I'm pretty sure your "monsters" are inspired by digimon correct? What a blast from the past haha

Untiled Runner Game by WatermelonAndMe 2020-10-06T15:50:29Z

Nice game! It really hits you with challenge right off that bat, I love it haha. I love the little somersault the guy does on the second jump.

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-09T02:22:00Z

Great game! I love the graphics, did you model all of this? It looks amazing. I had a lot of fun and I'm happy with my position in #10 haha. The leaderboard idea is a stroke of genius.

[LD47] Falling Asleep by Dark Dungeon Studio 2020-10-06T22:55:09Z

This was a fun experience! I like the mood that you set up, and the animations were nice

Sisyphus Beetle Takes His Daughter to Work by pee-thief 2020-10-06T21:41:12Z

That was very interesting! Not gonna lie I was smiling the whole time

The Loopy Wheel by Anshul K 2020-10-05T20:40:19Z

Hey Anshul! I really want to try your game but I can figure out how to run it. Ive downloaded your zip from github and ive tried opening the solution but it says it has build errors and cant run. :(

The Loopy Wheel by Anshul K 2020-10-05T21:01:25Z

It works perfectly now! That was a really nice game, I really love the little worm. Great job!

Catnip by teshimoto 2020-10-06T00:49:17Z

I love it! Love seeing another unreal user. Does the level loop around once you kill all the mushrooms? I wasnt sure if I died or won

Re-Slash by Croxel Studios 2020-10-06T16:21:32Z

This is easily one of the best submissions! Such an innovative gameplay loop thats simple challenging and makes you think differently

Sèk by twilight-world 2020-10-06T23:03:06Z

I like the concept and the minimalist style!

Third Time's the Charm by Jag 2020-10-05T23:53:16Z

@sindri We didn't mean to stomp on the spirit of the jam with our game. I can understand how upsetting it can be to see someone use pre-made AAA quality assets to beautify their game when you worked so hard to make assets of your own. We are two aspiring game developers, who specialize in coding. Our aim with this project was to flex our inner game designer/programmer while attempting to handle enormous & complex assets. While all the assets we used come with animations and particle effects, implementing them was no small task at all. Everything you see in the game that is interactable was our own design (eg. The exploding tiles, the moving platforms, the swinging traps, the checkpoints). Logic such as revival checkpoints, voice over prompts (detecting when the player is falling, jumping, attacking, on his 2nd or 3rd round), sound staging, level transitions, attack hitboxes (these do not come with the assets), and more, are all our own hard work. Do take into account that we are using an engine with a notoriously steep learning curve.

To say that this is nothing more than an “asset flip” implies we took other peoples work and just changed a few numbers here and there and called it a day. There was no intention of being judged based on graphics and sound, we opted out of the graphics and sound categories and credited appropriately. What we wish to be judged on are things like: does the game feel stable, do all the objects behave and feel professionally done, was it frustrating or rewarding, did you like our idea, did you enjoy our interpretation of the theme, and finally did you have fun? Sorry for the long essay, but we worked nonstop for the 72 hours to make this game happen and I feel the need to defend our hard work. This was our first game jam and we’re newcomers to game development. In the future we would love to work with 3D modellers and create our own assets!

Third Time's the Charm by Jag 2020-10-06T05:02:53Z

@binaryprinciple thanks for playing! that's actually super helpful, did you mean motion blur? I'll definitely open up more graphics options next time.

@sparrow-lynn @zagganoth thanks for playing! I think its definitely an issue if so many people are unable to finish the game. Could you tell me a bit more about the areas you felt you were struggling with?

Third Time's the Charm by Jag 2020-10-06T06:07:39Z

@sindri No hard feelings at all! I should have made it clear in the game description, I'll make sure in future game jams haha. Thanks for playing!

@zagganoth Thanks for the suggestion, I'll tweak things to make it easier in the future. I think another issue a lot of people seem to have is that they feel the jumps are too floaty. We thought we were making things easier by making the airtime longer but I think its actually made it harder for everyone.

Third Time's the Charm by Jag 2020-10-07T19:52:26Z

@marinee Is your Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit? What kind of error are you getting?

Third Time's the Charm by Jag 2020-10-08T19:07:52Z

@codertrevor thanks for playing! Sorry if it was frustrating, we're both big dark souls fans so our idea of difficulty is heavily skewed . I think that the problem with using assets is that it muddies up what is actually your own work versus someone elses, especially in unreal engine. On one hand, we don't deserve credit for the main level layout as that was just a demo map available on the marketplace, but then on the other hand, we put together the little alcove you see in the main menu by staging some of the models from the demo map. We didn't make the 3D models for the exploding tiles, but then we are the ones who resized it, fit it together, programmed it, made it change color and sink into the ground, and added an explosion effect for when it disappears. I could list out in detail what is and isn't our work, but essentially every cause and effect relationship in this game is our own. So while the voice lines are part of the assets, hearing them when you die, always with a different line each time, or hearing them at different points throughout, is entirely our own design.

The main reason we used assets in the first place was so that we could focus on the programming and pretend as if we had 3D modellers and level designers on our team. While we could have just used a bunch of blocks and spheres instead and call the whole thing our own, I think we really wanted to focus on programming and game design for the 72 hours while also giving you, the player, something pretty to look at. It also gave us so much experience working with AAA assets too, which was such a challenge (We actually had to worry about performance problems part way through). So yeah as long as you had a good time, and you feel this game isnt an unplayable mess, we would take that as an absolute win!

Snake Loops by Ividusk 2020-10-08T02:55:04Z

I really liked the animations and your art was very charming! Its such a creative idea of jumping in loops. When I first jumped in a purple loop and died I got a little upset because there didn't seem to be any indication that it's bad, but then it hit me that I'm "stuck in a loop" and that was pretty clever haha. Great job for a compo!

Mage Game by droo shayne 2020-10-05T21:32:40Z

I'd love to try your game but is there a way to play it without NPM?

Mage Game by droo shayne 2020-10-06T01:02:31Z

I really loved it! The idea of having three abilities that you have to rotate in between was very innovative. The art was cute, and the music is so lovely. Im currently stuck on level 2 though...

Just Another Day by Chaoseiro 2020-10-07T19:58:57Z

Great game! I love the style and all the little details

LuftLoopa by Cieroceramics 2020-10-05T22:31:38Z

Nice game! So the pitch controls seem to be bugged, right now both pressing up and down moves the pitch up so theres no way to point back down... Also is that your own voice for the gine? haha

I've Been Busy Being Dead by instrex 2020-10-06T17:23:24Z

I love this game!! The artwork is charming and the sound effects and music are hilarious. Its a fun gameplay loop going around cursing objects. Is there a way to finish the game? Or it that part of the loop theme

Bjorn to Dance by Tomh 2020-10-06T22:44:50Z

Fun game! Feels very complete and well done

Shifting Edge by DaFluffyPotato 2020-10-06T18:35:43Z

This was really great! I think for a compo you did a fantastic job. Personally as the player I found it a bit frustrating because the room for error is tiny and it makes it super easy to fall off. But I think with the time you had this was an ahcievement!

Hamster Happiness by shosanna 2020-10-06T22:03:01Z

Cute game! Love the sound effects

DisasterWheel by TangoMango 2020-10-05T20:16:02Z

I loved it! Such a cute looking and fun game. It only kind of clicked later on that I was "stuck in a loop" literally the ferris wheel being the loop haha. Nice music!

Cycle Breakdown by TheJohnyFeeD 2020-10-05T22:57:34Z

THIS WAS AMAZING!! I really really enjoyed this! My favourite submission of LD47 so far! I have no complaints about it (except maybe a walk animation for the main character haha). I throughly enjoyed this, its like a new take on bullet hells. Its like Enter the Gungeon with a twist. Great job!

The Infinite Parable by BenSlaney 2020-10-06T19:06:32Z

This was really good! I think for a gamejam this is extremely well polished. I really gave it my all and embarrassingly I've spent 20 mins I think and I cant figure it out haha. I solved the painting with the buttons, I did the inifinity puzzle on the wall, but I don't know what to do with the billiard balls. I found the colour coded numbers behind the objects but I don't know how to use them in relation to the billiard balls, like theres no blue 7 billiard ball but theres an orange 3 and purple 12. Oh well, either way I think this was amazing. Great job!

The Infinite Parable by BenSlaney 2020-10-06T21:36:27Z

@benslaney finally i got it! man i love that ending. "theres dozens of us! dozens!"

Commuter by Aran Ink 2020-10-06T02:06:43Z

I love this! its a very unique idea

Beelieve by Diego Teran 2020-10-07T00:57:45Z

Excellent game! I feel like this is an actually marketable idea. Can see this on an app

Resurrection by etrealjunior 2020-10-07T20:39:10Z

This was actually a really fantastic game. A lot of effort was put into this. And I really love the theme and style of the game. Job well done!

BoreOut! by HOOLOP 2020-10-05T22:41:51Z

Interesting idea for a game! The graphics and level were awesome but I felt like the game was broken, there didnt seem to be much to do besides throwing items around

Escaping the Void. by Oulsen 2020-10-05T21:48:30Z

I really loved the shadowing on the 2D models! And the ambience was great. One thing that made me a little upset... I collected the fuel and battery but then when I went to click on the machine at the top I clicked launch ship before I clicked recalibrate, and I just los tthe game immediately. It kind of ticked me off that it was even an option to launch the ship before you recalibrate it after youve fixedd the computer and ship haha

SquareMob by Paul Pgt 2020-10-05T22:34:39Z

Interesting looking game, but the controls are a nightmare! They're extremely unintuitive...

Crosslink by Aurath 2020-10-06T15:53:41Z

I really like this unique concept! Its something very different

Ouroboros Labyrinth by Hilda Hay 2020-10-05T21:07:01Z

I really really enjoyed this! Such an innovative idea. It starts off slow because I was playing for the first time and I was moving slowly, but on future iterations I was moving faster and I found myself screaming at my own self like "get back here you *&%#er!!". This is actually such a neat idea that could be expanded!

Interstellar Roundabout by sparrow-lynn 2020-10-06T16:14:37Z

I love the idea! Its a really fun little game, I wish it would save your progress per level instead of restarting from 0

iLoop - the 2D endless runner game of a robot stuck in a loop :) by melvinng 2020-10-06T22:30:45Z

I enjoyed it! I like the choice of art and the animations, and the sounds were nice too.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Terrifying Box by TimBeaudet 2022-10-07T23:50:29Z

Thank you for streaming my game today! I've given your game a try and here's what I think:

The graphics are really well done, minimalistic but pleasant, with good contrasting colour choices. The sound design is hilarious, I love the buzzing of the car and the red bull drinking. Personally I felt the drink indicator was good enough to indicate a change in controls, although it seriously messed with my brain and I found it particularly difficult, but I believe that's just me.

One thing I do want to mention is that I notice you seem to be the type to discard any external information about a game and jump right into it with the expectation that it teaches you on its own (I gathered as much from the way you jump into games on your stream), and I'm guessing maybe that's why you don't have much of a description or even a screenshot of your game on your page or in the thumbnail. I think that's a huge detriment to people coming to try your game, because funnily enough when I uploaded my game and went into the explore games section for the first time on Monday, your game was one of the first games I saw on the feed, but I didn't click on it because I was put off by the bland grey screen and lack of context. I'm fully onboard with the idea that games should teach you within themselves and require no external reading, but I think a thumbnail and a screenshot goes a long way at inviting people to try it out. Would love to hear your opinion on this issue.

Nevertheless I really enjoyed your game, thank you for the entry!

Gigabite by CocaPasteque 2022-10-09T03:42:05Z

This was a cute game! Nice graphics and music, although I found the eating sounds to be so gross hahaha. The ramp up in difficulty is very well done, and its a very easily accessible game. Great entry, job well done!

Light and Dark by interface 2022-10-08T04:51:48Z

A very very fun game! I thoroughly enjoyed playing this start to finish. It took a bit to get the hang of things but tutorials were well placed and not too long. I like the story you were trying to place over the whole situation. Each "level's" mechanic was really interesting and I really enjoyed it. The idea of the split between light and dark is really genius and creative. I will say the gun has balancing issues, I found that I killed enemies faster just punching them versus using the gun haha. I feel the fire speed could be quicker. The final boss certainly had a tonne of health but I think a faster gun would make the whole thing go down smoother. All round great game! Thank you for making the game!

Testers' wanted! by tinykidtoo 2022-10-06T05:38:07Z

This was incredibly interesting! I loved the situation we're thrown into. Im stuck in the grey room with the button that opens the door, but I can figure out how to get to it. Could you put up a guide to help lost players like myself?

Laika's Revenge by bloodyaugust 2022-10-06T05:43:50Z

I love the artwork! It looks very professionally drawn! It was a fun game but I will have to join the rest of the pile complaining about how slow the pace of the game is. That felt like a painfully slow walking doggo haha

Decaedia by arzi 2022-10-14T00:05:47Z

This is a seriously seriously well done entry. Absolutely amazing that you pulled all this off in just 3 days! The pixel art is amazing, the music and audio is perfect, and its always amazing to see someone fit a story into the game. I'm amazed you pulled it all off in such a short time. Oddly enough, of all the things to really blow me away, I'm most impressed by the pixelated see through obscuring object effect that you have going on! I'm definitely taking that idea for my next game!! It was really well executed, and the programming complexity at play here is insane. A job well done, and thank you for the entry!

Power Surge 51 by vidarn 2022-10-05T15:05:33Z

This was just absolutely fantastic! I played this on my way to work this morning on mobile so I’m really thankful you added the mobile version. The idea is solid and the gameplay is really fun. The artwork is just top notch, looks super professional, although if I had some criticism it would be that there is not enough contrast. I’m on an iPhone 12 Pro and playing on the train made it a bit hard to discern some elements. Gameplay wise I honestly had a great time! A job well done

Shimash by thedashdude 2022-10-06T02:58:25Z

I did it!

sdsd.PNG

That was so incredibly fun!! I loved the minimalist pixel art and the sound effects were so retro. I had a lot of fun playing this. Its not easy to come up with fun obstacles for mini games and I think you really nailed it!

RTXDucks by Timo Strating 2022-10-03T23:24:23Z

That was a fun little game haha! I think this idea could be expanded into something even bigger! The last image was pretty hard i couldn't really spot the duck but clicked randomly and got it anyway. I wish there was more!

Metal Muscle Mage by Almax 2022-10-06T03:12:35Z

Absolutely fantastic!! Short but oh so sweet! I loved everything about this, I have no complaints or criticism whatsoever. Its 5 stars across the board from me. I only wish there was more!

Helping by MossGames 2022-10-08T16:58:39Z

It's a fun little game, and was good while it lasted! I think it got a bit boring really quickly; after about 1 min it stayed basically the same and I just felt like stopping. I think this could be expanded to have more variety and maybe levels to keep things interesting. Nevertheless, great job with this, thank you for the game!

Cursing Recursion by Flaterectomy 2022-10-07T02:44:51Z

This is a masterpiece! I love the idea! So unique and interesting... Short but very very sweet game. Definitely a game I'll remember. Thank you for coming up with something so original! You did so much with such a simple concept and what is essentially a text adventure (quite literally a texting adventure in this case haha)

Just Roll With It! by Cornflowerblue 2022-10-07T06:20:09Z

Was this really made in 3 days?! If so then this is easily one of the best, but if it isn't, it doesn't mean its bad but an honest disclaimer would be nice!

Le Petit Jardin by auxC 2022-10-03T23:20:00Z

This is an absolute diamond of a game! Very very well made! So professionally done, with great ambience! (She started whistling a zelda tune at one point!) It's absolutely amazing you managed to make this in 3 days!

Sweet Nightmare by almost 2022-10-12T19:49:21Z

I really really loved the art and music for this! It has such a cute relaxing vibe to it. I think the change in controls is a really fun way to add some excitement. It got a little chaotic towards the end, but I enjoyed it all the way. Great job and thank you for the game!

PipeNightmare by Sarah 2022-10-04T02:15:44Z

This is a fantastic game! I love the art the music and the game design! My only issue is that the leaks keep happening too often and I cant patch them up in time. The theme was definitely forcing your hand, but if you made another version with a longer time between cracks this would be a true gem! Really enjoy piecing together pipes

Sprawl: A cyberpunk interactive graphic novel by m11 2022-10-07T04:42:46Z

I enjoyed the visual novel very much. Good use of AI to set the ambience and mood. I think you were extremely resourceful in creating a game despite not having a programmer. My favourite scene was the comparison of the wires to the sea creatures. That felt like a scene that really provokes the imagination. Thank you for the entry!

Blind Jump by TsFreddie 2022-10-07T05:54:30Z

I think the music is amazing, just the best track of LDJam51. I really love the cassette tape track that records your movement! However, I really didn't enjoy the gameplay... It felt just plain frustrating to me to play a precision platformer where your character turns invisible. I saw the playthrough and I'm thoroughly impressed by the amount of content in the game though!

Blind Jump by TsFreddie 2022-10-07T23:12:13Z

@tsfreddie can we get a soundcloud upload for the track? Because this is an absolute banger!

Blind Jump by TsFreddie 2022-10-08T01:12:11Z

@tsfreddie you say that but then here I am jamming away to your sound track just chilling and doing my stuff... Tower track is the best!

Thanks for the quick upload! Might I ask what software do you use for music?

WindBots by alexhonor 2022-10-08T17:26:34Z

This is a phenomenal entry! Great job with the programming, this is a very very interesting idea. I think that the theme was really just shoehorned into this as a time limit for the level when honestly there doesn't need to be a time limit. Nevertheless the concept was really really fun. The programming was executed really well, it made switching characters fun and bug free, and everything just worked. I think the level design needs a lot of work because difficulty between levels is pretty inconsistent. Also, some of the later stages could be very easily cheesed. There were two levels where I didn't have to push any buttons and I could just use one of my bots as a platform to circumvent the whole puzzle and reach the flag. I think this is a very good basis for something that could be bigger and better. Thank you for this hidden gem of an entry!

Parcel Problems. by Jacob Diaz 2022-10-04T01:29:40Z

What an amazing game! I'm so impressed you made this as a compo! There was so much attention to detail. "Rainforest" lmao, and the photo of his family. I really enjoyed playing this, thank you for making it!

Game Name by Strega 2022-10-08T00:08:33Z

So this is just absolutely phenomenal! I couldn't think any more highly of this game, because this has to be definitely top 5 entries I've seen all jam. I think when everyone hears the theme "every 10 seconds" every more or less thinks of that mini-game style (WariorWare type) game, and I've seen dozens of that all over the jam. But I think the execution of this one is simply the very best one among all of them. The execution on this was flawless all around. The art, music, game design, puzzle design, programming were all executed flawlessly. A job well done, and even though I'm writing this before the jam is over, I'm pretty sure I'm going to see this among the top when results are out!

Quad PD by CodeChomper 2022-10-05T01:22:26Z

A very solid entry! Absolutely amazing job done with the AI for the cars and pedestrians, really gave me a sense of immersion into a living city. The controls were nice and tight. The cityscape was well put together, UE5 definitely does the heavy lifting for good graphics. I enjoyed the gameplay, it was fun to hunt down those absolute lawbreakers "using someone elses wifi" hahaha, however I didn't see the theme present here, maybe I missed something? I feel there's potential for this to be something much bigger! The city really felt so fun to navigate.

HAZCAT - Toxic Feline by johnnysix 2022-10-04T00:10:57Z

Extremely well done! Especially given that it's a compo! I really enjoyed this. Gave me a donkey kong/megaman vibe

Speed Barber by PhoenixofForce 2022-10-14T23:28:34Z

Okay this was really really fun and such a creative idea! It was executed so perfectly. I think the artwork is really well done, the ambient sounds just set the mood so well and the effects for shaving were done perfectly. I don't have any real criticisms other than I wish there was more to it and some levels and upgrades etc. I hope you release something like that in the future, I would be the first to play it!

Terra Nova by N4tticus 2022-10-21T04:44:58Z

Okay this was incredibly fun, I had a great time playing this! I'm really impressed with the technical work that's put into this, it is a huge amount of stuff to accomplish in 3 days. Excellent job with the AI and I think the idea of the enemy attacks coming out in a special shape is a stroke of genius, it matches really well with what attack they're about to do. I'm actually pretty glad you made the game very forgiving and let us resurrect because I actually died a couple of times. I really love the cinematic deathblow animation as well! Great job, and thank you for the game!

CARPOVUM by Dis0rder 2022-10-07T01:35:44Z

Interesting game! I couldn't really figure out what we were supposed to do, the best I could figure was so pick the eggs up when the pad bumps downwards every 10 seconds and put the eggs in the tube. I tried bumping the running men up towards the upper tube but it was quite hard to do so. I admire using hand drawn graphics! Great job!

Time Loop Traffic by _for_science 2022-10-05T05:50:05Z

I did it!!

sss.PNG

I absolutely loved this game! It was so short and sweet. The polish on this is just amazing. It doesnt feel like a game jam because its just so perfect in every way! The player controller was so tight, the game felt so juicy!! The AI was so well programmed, and the models looked so good! Job well done with this one... One of my top games Ive played so far

The Forgotten Crawler by wolderado 2022-10-08T16:53:08Z

This was a fantastic entry! It's very hard to pull off a story in a jam but I think you outdid yourself; you even made 4 endings. I really enjoyed this from start to finish and dont really have anything to criticise. I did experience a bug in the last level with the lava where I went out of bounds of the whole map and walk around the whole level. I thought it was intended as a way to get around the lava but turns out just found an empty spot to leave the whole map. Great job with this entry!

Ravening Edge by Tsunscreen 2022-10-04T00:43:31Z

Easily the best game I've played so far!

Shutter Chaos by ColeSlaughter 2022-10-18T00:05:26Z

This, was a fantastic entry! I'm not even saying that just because you guys streamed my game, which, by the way, I can't thank you guys enough for giving my game a try. I really really loved every bit of this. The creativity here is just so damn good. I love how everybody looks like a Muppet. The 3D models are great and the janky ragdoll just fits this so well. Honestly its such a perfect jam entry, definitely something that can only be pulled off with some serious talent. My only criticism would be that I wish there was a timer for when your 10seconds are up, but I suppose its part of that 80's/90's theme that's going on here. A job well done and thank you for making this game!

Silvi by nardandas 2022-10-05T04:47:31Z

What a fantastic game! Not many games fit the 10 second window very well but I felt the 10 second pacing for your game was perfect. The audio and art were just top notch. I really liked the dynamic growing system you've built here!

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-04T04:55:05Z

The twist is the best thing!

Stella Brown and the Curse of the Grocery Witch by Iamsodarncool 2022-10-14T01:02:31Z

This was a really phenomenal entry, and I enjoyed this from start to finish! The artwork here is top notch and having voice acting in a jam game is always such a great cherry on top! The music was really really good, it matched so well with gameplay. I enjoyed that the music synced up with the change in realm so it helped to time my jumps correctly. I think that's just a very creative idea, using music as a sound que for when to start jumping (although there is a potential accessibility issue there for people hard of hearing). This is an odd thing to compliment but I really like the parallax background effect you did with the mouse cursor at the beginning of the game, it added a touch of polish and class!

I think my only issue with this was the writing, especially at the beginning. Our character was just so unbelievably obnoxious (even for a teenager) that, firstly, I would not believe anyone would just outright speak to someone that way, and secondly, even if it was just for laughs I can't continue to play this character knowing that I'm clearly the asshole in this situation. There were a lot of humorous lines sprinkled throughout that I enjoyed, but at least they were not voiced from our main character. Like when her boyfriend didn't offer to help and instead asked for a sandwich, it gives you sympathy for her. But when you main character herself is being the absolute worst human being on Earth right from the start, it's hard to want to play this character, fit in their shoes. As the intro played out, I thought we were going to play the witch, but when we played the girl I just felt demotivated to want to help her out; frankly, she deserved it.

Other than that, I think this game is just 5 stars all around! A job well done, and thank you for putting this together!

Whatever Floats Your Boat by Rage Paint Games 2022-10-04T04:09:45Z

I really love the name choice for this! The artwork is absolutely amazing! Simple and addictive to play

Space Dizzy by Mads 2022-10-04T00:05:01Z

A job well done. Definitely one of the higher quality games this jam. I was experiencing one very annoying bug where my character would just stay stuck in position for some time that really bogged down my sense of fun, but other than that very nicely done!

Beardadette and the Eternal Hiccup by Honest Dan 2022-10-09T03:55:21Z

Absolutely awesome game!! I loved the artwork and the creativity of the whole thing! Out of all the ideas I've seen for something happening every 10 seconds, I have to say hiccupping every 10 seconds is the most original thing yet. And the fact that you worked it in as a game mechanic is amazing. Really loved the whole aesthetic and had a great time playing this. Great job!

Love is Legal: Speed Dating For Criminals by Krasimir Balchev 2022-10-07T23:35:08Z

Thank you for streaming my game! I just finished trying out your game for myself. I actually found it extremely fun, and I'm not usually into these dating-type games. I really enjoyed that you kept things very nice and simple, I don't usually enjoy games with too much dialogue or too many rules. Your game was very simple and clear. You did an amazing job signifying what people liked and what they didn't like to talk about. I think the great art really ties the whole thing together, but the humorous character and options really gave this game character. Great entry, I really enjoyed it!

Dare to Jam by TJ101010 2022-10-06T05:23:28Z

Such an amazingly cool idea! I love how you took a relatively boring theme and made something so creative out of it. I loved bombarding my team with tasks and literally squashing bugs along the way haha. Fantastic job with the comment generation, it was the cherry on top!

Pet the Damn Cat! by Deprecat 2022-10-09T03:46:34Z

Such a hilarious game hahaha, I honestly had more trouble than I thought I would managing two things at once! I had some trouble figuring out where exactly I was supposed to pet the cat, but I loved the work mini games so much! Definitely laughed out loud when I bobbed my head and it went full 360 hahaha. Great entry! I loved the artwork!

[X-ED OUT] by Nash 2022-10-07T05:01:10Z

Extremely fun and juicy game and a very addictive game loop! I think this was a fantastic entry! There definitely needs to be a desktop version because at around wave 17 it felt like it wasnt my skill that was the issue but the browser lag that made me lose. Thanks for the great entry!

10 Second Mixtape by Scott Steffes 2022-10-06T06:38:13Z

What an absolutely lovely game. I enjoyed everything about this. The artwork the synth tracks and just the whole vibe of this. I think when most people think of "every 10 seconds" we're thinking of something fast paced an action packed, but you guys took it in a calm and melodic direction. Thank you for making such a beautiful game!

Overrun by WizZzLe 2022-10-03T22:24:15Z

I think this was just amazing! I had so much fun with this. Its like a panic to quickly read the equipment info and gear up and then kick ass in the next round. Very fun! I had no performance issues whatsoever and didnt encounter any major bugs.

10 Seconds To Hell by Davirtuoso 2022-10-06T05:47:41Z

A fun game idea! It was a bit too slow paced for my liking, I would have enjoyed the cooldown timer to be shorter on the recharge. Thank you for the game!

The Tenth Second Son by Caveman54 2022-10-06T04:15:08Z

Just gave your game a try and I absolutely love your take on the theme! I'm always trying to look for creative ways to reinterpret the theme and I feel the idea of 10 second son's battling it out is just genius! Its really unfortunate you were not able to finish in time because I think this whole game has enormously potential. The RPG storytelling is perfectly on point, the pixel art is great, and the battle music is just so good. I like the idea of searching out clues before fighting a boss! I have to admit that I got stuck on brutus. I tried speaking to everyone but I simply couldn't figure out his weakness, I even trying parrying his rocks. Nevertheless I had a great time playing your game!

Coffee Rush by Trusty 2022-10-07T06:13:49Z

@bougiebirdie @cheeks I think we all had the same idea! sddssd.PNG

I couldn't stop laughing at the voice acting in this one! Great job with your game!

Dr. Word's Machine by Kaish 2022-10-12T18:59:53Z

This was a very very interesting concept! I loved everything about this! There is so much creativity here. Its a simple concept but executed so perfectly. I love that you made all the objects in the just a word. My only problem with the game is that I feel it's too random which room you are teleporting to. Also, I know you are trying to fit it under the theme of every 10 seconds, but I feel it is just too short for me to think carefully and experiment with the objects in the room before I get teleported away. I was able to find 2 keys, but I gave up because I just couldn't figure out what to do next. Nevertheless, I really really enjoyed this game! Excellent job and thank you for the game!

It Hunts! by arkinrev 2022-10-04T00:24:47Z

I did it! I fixed the ship! This was a job very well done. I love the graphics. The lighting really created a creepy mood. I think this was a really ambitious project making something that huge. Did you model and lay out the entire level yourself? Thats absolutely insane that you made this for a compo. I think this game would have benefited greatly from some creepy moody sound playing, but thats already asking a lot from a very well done game. Good job!

It Hunts! by arkinrev 2022-10-04T01:12:53Z

@arkinrev you should upload a desktop version!

Warrior, Wizard Rogue by TheseusInABottle 2022-10-07T03:39:48Z

This was incredibly fun and even though I was put off by the humming I still stuck around and got to the end! I was a little disappointed that once I descended the staircase it was just an unhappy ending though haha

Night At The Orphanarium by michaelaranda 2022-10-06T04:50:35Z

dsds.PNG

This was absolutely amazing! I loved every bit of it! The art and music was obviously just superb but the gameplay was really really good! I have no criticism whatsoever, just a perfect game!

What's the rules? by Pusheeneiro 2022-10-07T04:33:45Z

Very nice idea, reminds me of WarioWare where they give you 10 seconds to play a quick mini game. I think the gameplay really needs balance because it goes from satisfying to downright annoying just when you hit the airplane level. You're given very little time to react that even though I know you're supposed to move the cloud out of the way I barely even have enough time to click it out of the way let alone have time to think and analyze the situation. Its very important in these flash mini-game type of games to give the player some time to analyze and decrypt the puzzle of the level and I think there wasn't enough time for us to piece it together. Furthermore, the game resets back to level 1 every time, which just made this too grindy to want to make it to the end. Regardless, thank you very much for the entry and a job well done! I hope you release a better tuned version so that I can play to the end!

Racoon-aissance by Kimmyx47 2022-10-07T01:42:21Z

This was a really cute game! I loved the idea of playing hide and seek with these raccoons! I would love to see a really expanded version of this with some randomization!

Cookin Bash 10 by TwoWolf 2022-10-06T03:59:09Z

I did it!! I got rich!!

Capture.PNG

First of all, thank you for leaving such a nice comment on my game. We certainly had completely identical ideas! So as someone who made just the same game I know just how complicated the programming can get. I'm thoroughly impressed with what you accomplished here as a 1 person team. A job well done and a huge kudos to you! I think you have a fantastic game on your hands here, and I enjoyed playing it start to finish.

I think the big issue with the submission is the lack of clarity for certain game mechanics, which makes it very difficult at a first glance to figure out what is interactable and what isn't. I personally had to stop playing twice and read and re-read your description to figure out just how to play the game. But once I figured out (somewhat by trial and error) what was interactable and what wasn't, the game truly opened up and felt amazingly fun.

With that said, I myself received so much feedback that people had no idea what to do with my game at first that I had to patch it to include an extended tutorial. But I think you and I know that it wasn't that we didn't think to put a tutorial, there just simply isn't enough time in 3 days to pull it off haha. So honestly, I think your game is just 5 stars in my book. Thank you for making it!

Busy Tracks by Outfrost 2022-10-08T00:20:02Z

Thank you so much for having me on your stream! It was great watching you play my game!

I'm having trouble getting your game to start... I downloaded the windows version and it loads up fine (144fps) in the corner. But when I click Play nothing happens. The UI disappears and it just stays on the same screen. I'm playing on Windows 10, and my hardware is pretty solid (RTX 2070 Super), so I don't think its a hardware issue. I hope thats enough info to get to the bottom of this, I'd really like to try your game!

Busy Tracks by Outfrost 2022-10-08T01:09:51Z

Sorry just gave your game a try again! Here's what I think:

First off, the graphics are very pleasing to look at. And I think the system you have built up is a very fun little toy of controlling a train station. I'm actually quite amazed at what was done here for a game jam.

I think the big issue with your game is "sign-posting" interactables and defining a goal of some sort. When I started the game I truly had no idea it had even begun, but you do explain the controls in your description. I always try to avoid wall of text tutorials, but in this case some indication the game has begun and some controls message would have been nice! Visual effects in a 3D game are a bit of a tall order especially in game jams but some indicator that something is interactable would be nice, like a hover over colour change or even a 2D blip that appears when hovering over.

Other than that, great entry, and thank you for the game!

Reboot by Astrydax 2022-10-04T04:38:34Z

What an absolutely creative game! Very elegant game design. Definitely the most inventive game Ive played so far. Great job!!

Reboot by Astrydax 2022-10-22T16:19:03Z

What happened with this? Why did this not get scored? I was expecting to see this near the top...

Garden Grind by Daxic 2022-10-08T17:33:38Z

A very fun little game, very well put together, great visuals and audio. I think a great job was done with throwing drought mechanics your way. I think this game would really have flourished if there were levels created that gradually introduced more and more mechanics. As of now it throws you in with all these different seeds and tools and you're not sure which to pick. I think differentiating the different seeds somehow would be great, like maybe some of them could be resistant to certain weather effects but earn less so its a gamble which one you want to plant. Other than that, great entry, great job!

Stuck gun by mira 2022-10-14T00:27:13Z

I think this was a fantastic entry and a job well done! The art, music, story and programming were perfectly executed and I don't have much to criticize there, but I think the big problem with the game is the lack of good game design. There is a strong foundation for such an amazing game here because there are so many interesting and varied enemy sprites and variation in levels and even good thought put into the level design (like making some areas tightly cornered to funnel the enemies toward you), but it all falls flat because the game itself is too simple.

You have this gun that fires every 10 seconds and it kills every enemy in 1 hit. The only difference between enemies is just some marginal difference in movement speed, and you can basically get around everything by just walking around them. Even though there are 3 objectives per level and two entire levels to play through, the game stays the exact same from start to finish. I got to the end, but honestly it was just walking and once in a while waiting for the timer to just blasts some guys standing in the way.

Your game is clearly inspired by Vampire Survivors, and I can't stress enough how impressive it is that this was all created in 3 days. You even have a proper minimap display, and I even loved the attention to detail like the character footstep trail. But I think its missing some of that extra sauce that Vampire Survivors has like variety in weapons, leveling up, varied enemy health, juicy feedback from hitting enemies, etc. I think it would be more interesting if your weapon fires a different type of shot every 10 seconds and that different enemies had different weaknesses or something.

Sorry if this came out harsh! I can't say enough how amazed I am by the entry, in fact I'm only saying this because I feel there's so much potential here for something really amazing and fun to play, but more time needs to be put into the game design! Thank you for the game!

Ticktock Tactics by Cral 2022-10-08T20:40:01Z

Really really excellent game! Very very polished, nothing bad to say about anything really. The art is top notch, music and sounds are great. Programming is bug free as far as I can see, very solid. Very interesting gameplay mechanics, using the 10 second timer as a move counter. It could use some game balance changes, but all in all a super solid entry! Thank you for the great game!

Morbid Expedition by Celulo 2022-10-03T23:10:30Z

Really great atmosphere, I can see so much hard work was put into this. I'll wait till my friends are online to try it out.

Memento Mori by BinaryPrinciple 2022-10-08T22:49:16Z

This was very very interesting. I LOVE the premise. It's very creative to be trying to solve a case inside of your brain, while in a coma. And the enemies are death, so you're trying to avoid actually dying. I managed to find all the clues but the ending left me a tad bit confused. So the woman in the red dress shot me, but why? Sorry if I missed something obvious. I really enjoy this entry. If I had any criticism, I think the movement was a little more convoluted than it needed to be. I think pressing WSAD should have been enough to move you instead of presseing both a direction and the space bar. Other than that, thank you for the game!

Train Trader by FadrikAlexander 2022-10-08T04:35:40Z

This is a very very cool game here, the ambient sounds really tie this together. I really wanted to get into this, but I felt like too much was thrown in my face all at once. There's a lot of visual clutter on the first glance and it can be off-putting to anyone trying to start a fresh game. When I first booted up the game I felt there were so many icons and numbers, so many options, that I had no idea what I had to do. It might be a good idea to peel away some game mechanics during the beginning to allow a gentle introduction into the game. Nevertheless, it looks amazing, and job well done! Thank you for the game!

Thornscatter by KeithSwanger 2022-10-08T23:03:47Z

Really really great game. I love the mood set by the intro text and the guitar. Was that you playing on the guitar? Really good audio. I love the idea that the obstacles come from you and that you are responsible for choosing a good location to expel your thorn spores out. Later on when it gets filled up, it feels like navigating a maze that you yourself had created. It took me a try or two to figure out the mechanics but they were simple enough to understand; however, I think that it might be good to add a small tutorial to explain the objective for people who might not be experienced gamers. Other than that, I really loved this entry. Thank you for making such a great game!

Running Time by DesertMaw 2022-10-08T17:15:38Z

Very interesting concept and great visuals! I experienced a game breaking bug on the first level where the anti gravity loop is introduced. I think I died with gravity still on and my box just keeps flying upwards even on death, and I couldn't continue. Nevertheless, cool game and thank you for making it!

Psycho Petting by Nachodlv 2022-10-07T06:05:21Z

This game is so twisted I love every thing about it!!! This is the kind of thing you wanna see in a game jam! Something so out of there that its just awesome haha. Fantastic game, great job!

Curse of the Wereburger by Brainloaf Studio 2022-10-13T23:49:03Z

Such a great game! I loved the artwork and sound effects, it was just so hilarious! I think the game design is really on point, its simple and easy to get into, and gets complicated just soon enough to not get boring. I like the greyscale vibe although it would have been nice to add a splash of colour, maybe just for the cheese on the wereburger! It took a death or two to figure out exactly which 2/4 spaces would be occupied when I transform, so I think signposting that could be a possible improvement. But other than that, this was a perfectly executed game! Thank you for making this!

Countdown Cowboy by waffleworksgames 2022-10-08T05:35:44Z

I love these types of game! I think you did a fantastic job with this! I've seen quite a few of these 10-second random mini game types all over but I think you really pulled through on really tying it all together and keeping it related. The timing between levels was generous and it made a lot of sense what I had to do (I've played others where it made no sense what I had to do from level to level). I also liked that you gave us lives so one death doesnt mean starting all over. Thanks for the great game!

Poda Wants a Statue by Doot 2022-10-13T23:58:00Z

Well if this isn't one of the top games of the jam then I don't know what is. This was just perfect from start to finish. Practically nothing to criticize even. The only thing I would add is a better visual way to represent items that are left on the road and need to be picked up from items in the stash. But other than that, what a perfect jam entry! A job well done!

Potat-OS by JMad 2022-10-08T17:04:42Z

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this!! Personally I thought the difficulty was just right, didn't feel too hard to me, and the mini-games were fun and interesting. My favourite is hearing "HOT POTATERS IN YER AREA"! That was hilarious! I think the champagne bottle mini-game was a little too strict but everything else was solid. Great job!

Cactus Hourglass by Tom Kun 2022-10-17T05:55:46Z

This was really really fun! I really liked the 3D models, especially our main character with his cactus hat! Did you make all the music yourself on guitar? We did the same thing for our entry and I really like your BGM. I really loved that there were upgrades after each round although I felt the upgrades felt like they could have been better, because some of them seem like they would help but they aren't all that useful. Nevertheless, great entry!

Sailing through life by Chase of Bass 2022-10-06T06:23:39Z

What an incredible charming game... I really enjoyed this very much. The idea of controlling the angle of the water itself to move your ship and collect the stars is just the most thinking-out-of-the-box thing I can image. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

DIMENSION LOOP 2 by Danial Jumagaliyev 2022-10-21T01:40:40Z

What a great entry! Even more impressive that you accomplished all this for a compo. I really enjoyed how you gently introduced mechanics in a very organic way. Visual clarity was very good and the ball aiming controller was well-done. It's a simple game but it does a good job of hooking you in. I think adding the leaderboards at the end was a fantastic touch. Once again, amazed it was all done in a compo. Great entry, and thank you for the game!

Home R.I.P.airs by JoyKangpae 2022-10-04T04:20:35Z

Really funny game! I think its hilarious that you "fix" everything with your hammer haha. I love the artwork. Great job!

@jamdong15 Thank you for your glowing review on my game! It makes me so happy to hear someone really enjoyed it; it made my day to hear that you stayed up to play it! You asked for a rating on your game, but I had already done so and left a comment up above from a few days ago ^^"

Trick or Defeat by Feraligatr 2022-10-07T02:48:55Z

Incredibly fun tower defense game! Very very well polished! I feel it ended a little early, I really wish I could play more of this! Great job with this entry, very solid all around.

The Crumbly Fumbly by Lezzlebit 2022-10-07T02:38:16Z

Truly excellent game! Definitely one of the best looking games in the whole jam. I really like the shader you used and the colour choices were so vibrant and nice, and dont even get me started on how good the breakaway effects look! The player controller was excellent as well. I think it would have been nice to have the colour order showing on the side, although I did notice the font colour for the timer was indicative of the breakaway colour, but that realization only came on level 3. The only thing that mars an otherwise amazing game are the condescending remarks for dying. I feel it crosses the line from jokey teasing to just plain mean; I don't think you should take it all out it certainly gave the game some character, but I think it needs to be dialed back a bit.

My Robo Nanny by satacat 2022-10-12T19:18:00Z

Very interesting concept! I think the artwork is really cute and I really want to get into this game, but I think the game does a poor job of telling you what to do and what the controls even are. On your description page it says e to interact but I had to press spacebar to start the game, and then when I was in the game I was trying to mash buttons but nothing seemed to be happening. The game just ends in 10 seconds for me. I think the idea and concept has so much potential and from what I gather *I think* I'm supposed to be performing house tasks every 10 seconds to avoid being thrown out, but ultimately I couldn't enjoy this game because I had no idea what to do or what I could interact with...

Grim Light by Forik 2022-10-04T02:43:24Z

My God where do I even begin with this game. First of all, this is phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. The technical work that went into this.. the shaders, the lighting, the level design, the atmosphere, the music. It was professional grade. The programming must have taken a lot of work too with the pathfinding. I'm so amazed your team amde this in 3 days. Job well done! I made it all the way to the end and.. well.. poor little guy.

Color Copy Cats by carolinewang 2022-10-04T00:56:13Z

Very cute game! I think the art was super top notch, very well drawn. The gameplay itself can be a bit boring when you have to wait a long time just to get through some sections. I feel its a result of a bad theme we got for ludum dare. If you made a version where we could change colors manually or through some other mechanic, you've got a winning game here!

Room Again by SofiGnedova 2022-10-08T16:36:38Z

This was very very fun to play! It reminds me of those old point and click adventures except time was resetting every 10 seconds, very innovative! The art is very very good as well. I was a bit confused in the end when it said "turn around" and we see the lady and nothing happens. But other than that, great entry!!

Terminal Velocity by mhorth 2022-10-08T04:26:43Z

You absolutely nailed the sense of speed on this one! Excellent shaders and just all round fun. Great job!

Burger Rush by defilerzero 2022-10-06T05:29:42Z

This was just waaaay too much fun! I absolutely loved your game, I made a food prep game myself. But where mine was all about clicking, yours was all about typing! Everything about this is just perfect and I enjoyed every second of this. I thought I got a high score, but Nardandas definitely got a score way higher than I could ever achieve haha

Resource: Remixed by Phillip Scott 2022-10-08T05:21:53Z

Fantastic job with this one! I'm amazed you pulled this off in 3 days. There is so much going on here, fantastic work with the shaders. I'm surprised to be playing something feels so polished. A job well done!

Speed Dating for Misfits by itsBoats 2022-10-08T05:30:46Z

This was just incredibly funny and nonsensical, I loved it! I love the art, the music and just the creativity behind these characters! A job well done here! thank you for making such a fun and interesting game

Impact-Effect by IdeasPerSecond 2022-10-07T03:34:11Z

You know what, I've played a lot of games this jam, but this has to be my favourite one of all. Its exactly the kind of game jam entry I want to play. Kept me hooked all the way to VICTORY screen. The idea, the execution, the addictiveness, the juiciness, everything was tuned just right! Thank you for such a great game, 5 stars all around from me!

Tender Bar! by infecsean 2022-10-04T02:26:33Z

I think you might need to put in more info about how the game is played because I was quite confused on what to do. I picked up a drink and brought it to a customer but nothing happened...

Moirah's Manor by Tobius 2022-10-12T20:10:42Z

What a very very cool game! I really enjoyed this because I love the survival horror genre. The art and audio really really sold the spookiness and built up a great mood. I think the biggest problem with this was the jankiness of the programming and a few game design elements. I experienced quite a few bugs during my playthrough like not being able to pick up the ring. I had to restart the whole game to pick it up. The walls popping in and out really broke immersion for me. It also got a bit too dark in some areas that I had no idea where I was going. I think if it wasn't for those things, I would be rating this as one of the top entries for the game jam. I really really enjoyed this and would love to see a more polished version of it. The character designs were amazing! Thank you for making this game!

Decrypt by Gabriel Chan 2022-10-18T00:17:33Z

I really really like the polished feel of the visuals. The gameplay itself was very addictive and fun. All around a really good entry! My only criticism would be that the powerups could be worded a bit better because its a bit confusing to figure it out the first time. Other than that, I think this was a perfect entry! Great job and thank you for the game.

Tower of the Dice God by Skyward4d 2022-10-14T23:23:15Z

Ahhh I got soft locked after I got so far!!

sdsds.PNG

I was avoiding a large pack and somehow jumped out of bounds of the map and I assume I just kept falling into infinity.

But anyway, this was just fantastic. The game design is so onpoint. For some inexplicable reason I was just hooked to keep leveling and going on and on. I can sit here and say how there could have been more variety in enemies and perhaps more clarity in what the power of each number does, but honestly I just kept playing and playing because it was just that fun. A job well done and thank you for the entry!

Mystic Blades by Vulpez 2022-10-04T00:59:36Z

Interesting game! I love the artwork and the music. The game itself seems like I could be doing more damage because it feels like Im taking ages to kill the slimes even with the right element.

Scratching By by rsheepdv 2022-10-03T23:03:41Z

Great game! We have extremely similar games, I would love for you to try mine! I really enjoyed the art style, but as others have mentioned its very confusing at a first glance and I think there is a bug where it does show when you add pearls or fruit to a cup and they have to be placed in a certain order. This led to me being very confused at first and I had to power through to figure it out. Fantastic job nonetheless!

Do it slowly by epeachyband 2022-10-12T19:25:53Z

Very very interesting game! FPS platformer with bullet time and wall jumping is a concept that can't go wrong! I think my only issue with this was that the player controller felt a bit wonky, like I didn't really have much control of my character. Also, there was collision problems with the end-goal red button and my character. When Im standing next to it I cant climb over the button, and I lost a few stages making it all the way to the button but not being able to climb over. Nevertheless, this was a great entry! Thank you for the game

Four Cents by BougieBirdie 2022-10-04T00:31:01Z

Great game! We have a very similar game I'd love for you to try it. I really liked your pixel art and the story matched the music very well and really brought it all together. It got very hectic very quickly but I guess thats the point. Don't you love it when someone orders a medium cup, espresso shot, chocolate syrup, steamed milk, hazelnut syrup, caramel syrup, vanilla syrup Espresso.......

Red and Black's Discommunicative Communication by chitoyuu 2022-10-07T03:50:42Z

This was a very very interesting game! It took a while to figure out what was going on, but once it clicks that this is a battle card game set in the context of having a conversation, its just a mind blown moment! The art is so cute, and I think the idea really needs to be fully fleshed out. Im blown away that you accomplished this for compo. I wish this was given more time because I think theres realy potential for something truly amazing with this idea!

Demon's Redemption by Ghatazorg 2022-10-08T05:17:12Z

Fantastic game! I loved the politically charged humour haha. The graphics were top notch, and the level design was very good. I think the game design got a little bit repetitive in the later levels, but honestly it was a very well execute idea and I enjoyed this from start to finish! I loved the 3D models and environment and the cute jumping sound! Merci pour le jeu!

King of the Ring by Lomby 2022-10-07T03:00:11Z

It was a fun and interesting game while it lasted! Quite a funny idea, I love that everyone in the ring are kings haha. I got a little bored after getting 20 points because all I was doing was picking people up and throwing them out of the ring, but maybe thats just me. Nevertheless, thank you for making a game!

Dichotomy by StudioCherno 2022-10-07T01:53:52Z

Great game guys! Major props for making a game in your own engine! I think visually it looks amazing (I love the ray tracing!). However I think the gameplay needs more work. Its a fantastic idea having a little AI version of yourself playing a level ahead of you but the way the puzzles were set up led to a lot of "blind jumps" where it was just trial and error with no indication of which way to go. They reveal ability could only be used once and lasted for just a second. The part with the lava and the axe was where I decided to stop because it got a bit too frustrating. Nevertheless, thank you for making such a unique game!

Sub10 by uik 2022-10-04T03:35:07Z

I really really enjoyed this game! A gamejam game with voice acting is always such a nice touch. Thanks for making such a great and enjoyable game!

UMBRELLA REVENGE by SAGIII 2022-10-05T06:07:28Z

I really enjoyed the aesthetics of this game the most! The animations, artwork, story, music and sound effects were all absolutely amazing! Definitely the best parts of the game! I think my biggest gripe is with the game and level design. The player controller doesn't feel responsive and its a bit sluggish, and the wall jumping is a bit janky. Biggest problem of all was the levels doing completely unfair things; someone earlier mentioned blind jumps. Also the final stage was quite frustrating, but I will admit once you beat it, there is a sense of accomplishment! Overall, fantastic entry. Thank you for making such a beautiful game!

Headcount by Bogden 2022-10-04T04:29:37Z

This is such a simple but amazing game! The sound design is perfect and it just has such a vibing feeling to it. Amazing what you accomplished with so little

Life is Fleeting by Sarah Alexa 2022-10-08T22:55:15Z

This was a very interesting entry. I'm amazed you accomplished all this within 2 days, that's really an achievement. I really like the Stardew Valley vibe this game has, and for me those games are usually a bit too slow, so I like this fast paced growth and relationship building. Felt almost like an action game! I think the player controller would have been better with less acceleration because at the moment it feels like sliding on ice. Also, I think it would have been nice if we didn't have to get the hoe and watering pot every single start of the day. All in all, a really great compo entry. Great job!

Void Well by Helzinko 2022-10-08T05:39:09Z

Super polished and fun to play game! Amazing job for a compo! I really would love to see an expanded version of this with more weapons and enemy types. Such a creative idea of habing the enemies you kill spawn blocks for you to stand on. A job very very well done!

iMaze 错觉迷宫 by 42Xiao 2022-10-14T00:37:21Z

I did it! I really really enjoyed this entry. I love the style and art. I especially liked the music in the last level. At first I felt like I was moving randomly especially for the water level, but for the pink maze level it finally clicked that there was a visual pattern to see where to walk. And the final level makes sense when you think harder about it. I wish there was more to play! A great job, thank you for the game!

10 Seconds, 9 Lives by Joe Bevis 2022-10-06T05:19:28Z

This was just absolutely fantastic! Short and sweet! I loved the art work and music, and the player controller felt very tight and responsive. Great entry!

Stormlight Manor by RogueBrain 2022-10-12T19:56:39Z

Very very fun idea! I really liked the idea of navigating a maze and only getting a brief glimpse of the full maze every 10 seconds. I think the level design was really good, although earlier on the enemies don't really pose much of a threat other than to block my path and make me wait for them to pass by. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this title. Simple and easy to understand. Great job and thank you for the game!

10 Second Traffic by Grandblood 2022-10-06T05:51:44Z

Incredibly fun game! I looove the sound effects they were so funny! Great work with programming the AI for the cars, it was hilarious to see them chasing you.

Counterspell by witchpixels 2022-10-08T05:00:35Z

I did it!! It was super satisfying to reach the end. I really loved this game honestly it was very creative to have these three spells that had different powers. Your pixel art was adorable and the music really set a mood. Sound effects were nice too! I only felt it was a bit slow because of having to wait 10 seconds for a spell every time, but of course that can't be helped because of the theme... All around great job and thank you for making such a fun game! I had a wonderful time playing it!

Jump in the line by resacaGames 2022-10-04T03:08:00Z

It was an interesting game, I really like the mood that you built up. The music choice was really excellent and it paced well with the rolling cube, but I struggled to find the theme or the game here. It felt like a cool interactive music visualizer. Still very pleasing!

Clique Hell High by Sean Esopenko 2022-10-18T00:21:44Z

This was really really cute! I loved the idea of having to rethink what kind of bullets you can and cannot absorb! I think the visual clarity could have been a bit better because the two colours blend together a bit, but I suppose its part of the difficulty. Some parts got a bit hectic for me, but there was a good amount of leniency in the health we're given. Great jam entry!

Game 0 by I wrote it myself 2022-10-07T03:18:08Z

Very very interesting game. I feel its very unique and really different from everything else out there. I got stuck a bit here and there but nonetheless it was very thought provoking. A job well done!

Elos - a progressive third person fighter by Appleplectic 2022-10-05T02:07:07Z

That was a really interesting game! I'm a sucker for upgrade systems so I got stuck into this for a bit. Definitely felt the game was more fun when I tripled the zombies. Great job with this!

Clockwork Owl by spacefudge 2022-10-04T00:00:01Z

This was really creative and fun! I love the idea of stacking up those arcade coins and pushing them off to deal damage! I was enjoying it most of the way until I finally killed the two foxes, and I was clicking my mouse and clicked continue without selecting an upgrade. But other than that it was a fantastic game!

BrainFour by Aliaksandr Shybayeu 2022-10-04T00:50:18Z

Amazing game! I think the real star of the show are the 2D models and animations, as well as the music. The controls are very well done, I love the player controller as well! The whole atmosphere is a real vibe. I think the only thing I dont like very much is the gameplay because its very confusing to keep 4 different player locations in your head and figure out where everyone is without any guidance. Nevertheless, this was AMAZING

You Fix Spaceships! by BeetleBox 2022-10-06T03:26:17Z

Absolutely fantastic game! Great artwork, great music and sound design, matched with a fun little puzzle game that fits perfectly with the theme. The brilliant and quirky dialogue is just the cherry on top to make this such an enjoyable experience!

RoadFromHell by 01edward01 2022-10-03T22:41:16Z

I managed to make it to the end! I really really enjoyed the pixel art, it was really well done. Fun game that had me hooked to the end. But the platforming felt a bit unfair at certain points especially when camera is too small to see pitfalls and spikes. But hey I finally made it all the way to heaven to pet the dog!

SHOTGUN DISCO QUEEN by cannibalgirl 2022-10-08T00:58:16Z

Fantastic art skills! This game is just JUICY as hell. You really nailed the feel of everything. The hotline miami style really showed through on this and it some ways ever better. Aesthetically, this game is just 5 stars. Did you make the music yourself? Because the track was an absolute banger!

I think the big problems are to do with game design. First off I think the player controller is moving way too slow for a game that should be action packed and disco thumping. Going through the levels was pretty excruciatingly slow sometimes. I should mention a programming issue I noticed, doesn't matter for a game jam but worth noting in the future: your diagonal movement is faster than your up/down left/right movement because you're not normalizing the direction vector. Also, I could double my speed if I used both wsad and arrow keys at the same time because there was no limit to your movement vector.

Second, even though you're trying to follow the rules of the theme, I'm not too sure what's the point of completely slowing down the pace of the game every 10 seconds. Visually it looked super cool, but from a gameplay perspective, all it did was just make me stop playing every 10 seconds and wait until I can resume.

Finally, for your final boss fight, this is more of a visual thing, but when I first fought the boss, I thought his health bar was a wall blocking my shots. I figured it out pretty quick but its something to consider in visual design.

At the end I couldn't defeat the boss and I tried many times. I couldn't figure out what to do when he gets to half health and the adds spawn that chase me while I'm weak.

Other than that, this was a SUPERB entry! Thank you so much for the game!

Labyrinth of Darkness by lonagi 2022-10-07T01:43:49Z

I tried to download your game from itch but it says your account has been flagged for suspicious activity...

Sort Me Right Out by omphh 2022-10-08T17:11:00Z

This was incredibly fun! Great job for your first entry! At first it seemed really basic and easy but when the labels disappeared I knew it was go time. Great ramp up in difficulty! I like the upgrades but I think they could have been a bit more creative. Also I feel the bomb weight was a little too heavy. I had a bomb come down once that got jammed between other balls and even though I reacted as quickly as humanly possible, it couldn't drag to the disposal in time. Great entry, and thank you for the game!

10 Seconds Solar by OP Sidearm 2022-10-04T01:23:11Z

I really really loved the player controller and the visuals! It was very fun to jet pack around and have objects just draw into me like a magnet! I didnt really like having to duck for cover every 10 seconds but the solar wind effects made it awesome!

Pandora’s Box [WebGL/Win/Touch] by AJ Studio 2022-10-09T03:37:08Z

Very cool game. I think the art is very cute and the level design is very accessible. Great entry!

Endless Circle Runner by ZL17 2022-10-07T04:50:50Z

It was a neat little game! One little thing, I feel like holding W didn't really add anything to the game and the ball could have been following the mouse cursor without me having to press anything haha. Thanks for the game!

Snowy-Drive by Zykino 2022-10-07T03:04:49Z

Very nice and simple idea for a game! Short and sweet. I will admit I didn't read the description and jumped straight into the game and first and my first thought was "woah cool and trippy graphics", I dodged cars and wondered what was going on for a bit. Eventually I hit a car and read the description and I had an "oohhhhh" moment when you said you're driving through the snow and those snowflakes are snow building up on your windshield. Great jam entry!

Galaxy Pucks by Chakit 2022-10-12T19:12:00Z

Interesting game! I think the graphics and music are nice and upbeat, but I think a lot more needs to be done for the gameplay to work. The physics seems a bit off, perhaps they are set to be too realistic, because it's quite boring to be hitting a puck that's stuck on a wall and it just doesn't bounce off the wall. Also I was quite confused why pucks kept reappearing after I already scored them in. I think this could go far if you improved further on the game design of the whole thing. Very cool entry, great job!

No Time For Love by davidtheginger 2022-10-07T02:54:45Z

Very interesting idea for a game! I think I enjoyed the artwork the most, it was really gorgeous and well drawn. The sound was fantastic as well. I guess its a game not to be taken too seriously, but I felt it was moving so quickly I had no idea what I was doing or if what I was reading had any meaning. I had 4 choices but I didn't have an idea of how different each emotion was. Nevertheless this was a really interesting idea! Thank you for making a game!

FifteenRooms by DurkaGames 2022-10-07T23:00:44Z

I thoroughly enjoyed this game! The art and the ambient music was right on point. The jokes were funny and interesting (it got a bit vulgar but I guess that's just me being a softy). I think the puzzle design was excellent, it was perfectly tuned where nothing was too overtly difficult. A very well balanced game, which is difficult to achieve in game jams. I have nothing bad to say about this, except maybe that the grumbling voice was a little overused haha. Thank you for this hidden gem!

LD53 — Delivery

The Snack Shack by Sarah 2023-05-02T06:35:17Z

Now you've gone and made a food based game yourself! (You commented on mine in LD51) This was really unique, much more intermingled systems than what I did. It took me a second to figure out where everything was but soon you just get into the rhythm of serving up some coffee and ice cream! I like the isometric style you had going on, and I liked the added challenge of serving up to the right order numbers. It got a bit hard to see the order numbers sometimes because of the isometric slant, but that's just the style I guess. Great job and impressive coding skills!

Dirigible Delivery by aevek 2023-05-02T06:12:09Z

Absolutely loved the feel of this game, so relaxing and cute! I'm surprised with the amount of polish on this one. The physics felt just right if you want that cozy sit on your couch and zone out to the sound of wind gusting away! Great programming too with full keyboard+controller support.

Skypost by Josh Bothun 2023-05-02T06:22:43Z

Really nice vibes form this one! I can see the love you put into the foliage and the trees, it really shows. I'm always impressed when someone can really set a nice mood and atmosphere without any music. Great job with this one!

There is a monkey here! by yellow 2023-05-02T05:59:41Z

I loved this!! So much cute and fun packed into so little pixels! It took me a few deaths at the beginning to figure out that I wasn't supposed to press space until I want to release them, I guess some game instinct kicked in and I just mashed spacebar. But once I got it, the game loop was so good! I love the music

@nuin @projectcolorball Thank you for playing the game!

@ha-kuro @alexander-tan @fire-steam-studio @dk-game-labs Thank you for such great feedback and kind words! I have added the ability to reverse with "S" now as well as multiple other changes. Hopefully the game will feel a lot more fun than it was before!

@bmacintosh Thank you so much for playing! I took your suggestion and added an indicator for distance to the target and it definitely helped a lot. Thank you so much for the advice. I hope you'll try the new version if you get the chance!

Hey @sarah was there a specific error message you received?

Derilicity Delivery by Jag 2023-05-04T00:54:43Z

@sarah I'm sorry about that 😟 I'm not sure why that would happen, it could possibly be some missing DirectX file or maybe a graphics card firmware update that's needed. Because the game implements Unreal's Lumen lighting, it limits the hardware that can run it...

LD57 — Depths

RainDrops by Geckoo1337 2025-04-13T01:59:53Z

What an absolutely amazing game! I think the innovation of the idea is 5-stars. Using those droplets to illuminate your path in complete darkness is such a cool concept. The whole idea was very subtle and not at all in your face, like you just know that the red dot is your objective and you need to find your way there. I can imagine some people just turning away without instructions to guide them, but I felt it had a very artsy vibe because of that. Although, I do have to criticize that some way pointing or handholding would have been good, because it took quite a bit of persistence to figure out the path ahead, especially when I discovered that there are sections that you need to jump to get to. Speaking of which, at least some in-game controls on startup would've helped. I think being able to cast more ripples at a time would have helped too, maybe just an extra 1 or 2 before the limit kicks in. (Note that I played the post-compo version) Nevertheless, great job! Thanks for the game!

depth mapped by daniel 2025-04-13T02:39:41Z

I loved this game! What a great idea for a puzzler. I really loved the art style of your game, it's my favourite 3D cartoon style I've seen so far. The puzzles were really well thought out, level design was just outstanding. The visuals for the camera view finder was super cool and looks so polished. My only complaint about the game was the platforming, because the player character doesn't have any coyote time when falling off a ledge, so it would sometimes feel like you'd slip off a ledge just the second the capsule collision reaches the edge. But I think if that was fixed, the game would be perfect!

Loot Mine by gamescodedogs 2025-04-14T05:00:40Z

That was a great game!! I think it was perfectly balanced, and had lots of strategy to it. It was strangely addictive, and I felt like I wanted to go all the way to the end.

cc.jpg

The progression was just perfect, and the mechanics were simple to understand yet had complexity to it. I love that you also added elements to the weapons, and also to the pickaxe, so there was strategy to destroy some rocks first before fighting some enemies. Such great risk reward balance!

I think my criticism is just that every other element besides frost needed some buffs, because frost was easily the best element while the others were pretty useless. Also I want to point out that there was no use for gold, but I assume you didn't have time to implement a store to spend the gold on haha.

That was a great entry! Thank you for the game.

Pressure of the Depths by slay a stone 2025-04-14T04:18:11Z

I like these sort of games! Reminds me a bit of Among Us with the minigames. I think the difficulty was tuned just a bit too hard at the beginning, it would have been nice if it eased into it at the start. But once you figure things out, its pretty fun (and stressful!) to play. Great job! I loved the voice acting haha

Jellylight by Steven Garberg 2025-04-12T04:24:37Z

I really loved the art and music of this! It was really calm and chill. The menu graphics were beautiful too. It was a nice simple game and I made it quite easily to the bottom. I think I would have liked to have a bit more challenge and a bit of gameplay variety, because it was quite effortless to make it to the bottom. Great entry, and thank you for the game!

Cave Glider by detectiveLosos 2025-04-12T05:23:24Z

I was drawn to your game because I made a similar game myself, and I'm so glad I got the chance to play it. Your glider physics were just perfectly executed and the tunnels was the perfect playground! Your level design was impeccable, I really love the last high speed bit. Your game was so much fun! It's my favourite game of the jam so far, I hope you win it!

Riches From Below by negdo 2025-04-13T02:48:28Z

A very very polished game! I'm impressed by all that was achieved in just 3 days! This feels like it's ready to be shipped. I wish it wasn't possible to squish your drivers, and that controlling the boat was a bit quicker and snappier. Other than that, what a great entry! Thank you for the game.

Deep Pursuit by Andreas Roschal 2025-04-13T01:43:04Z

This was a fantastic entry! Perfectly executed. I don't have any complaints, I think you've nailed it with this one. The visuals and sounds were just perfect. The difficulty was tuned just right, with plenty of forgiveness for mistakes. And what a great take on the theme haha. My only issue was that position was hard to determine without looking at the shadow, and that made the sections where you had to move the hand in between slides quite difficult to get perfectly. Thanks for the entry!

Mr. Money's Phenomenally Soggy Water Removal Romp by Rhoka 2025-04-12T07:59:52Z

This was a fantastic game jam entry, definitely one of the best ones I've played! I'm not sure why but it got me hooked and I just wanted to get to the bottom of the depths. I ended up playing this a whole hour!

A Soggy Situation by SvenErik 2025-04-14T05:29:35Z

I like your art style, and you created a good mood to the game! It was a short and sweet game with a cute vibe. But the difficulty is way way waaay over-tuned. I did beat the game, but it required more than 10 clicks per second in order to advance to the next screen, which is only achievable on a touch screen doing a double tap (or an auto-clicker). This is not possible for the average person, so you're alienating most people trying to enjoy your game, and not because they didn't try hard enough to understand your game or "get gud", but because it's physically impossible for most people.

The ending was funny at least!

Fire Exit by ThorPalsson 2025-04-21T06:10:24Z

That was a great spooky/funny entry! I think your screenshots captivated me to play. The visuals were great, but the sound design was amazing at creating that spooky vibe. It relied a bit heavy on jump scares, but at least you gave a few easy to handle jump scares before dropping in bigger ones later on.

Depths of Hell by GabrielGameDev 2025-04-12T05:08:52Z

I really enjoyed this game! I think the 3D art, music, and voice acting was just perfect. One of my favourite games so far! I think the normal mode was a bit unforgiving for making you restart the entire level on death. I think normal should've had checkpoints, but hardcore should've been what normal was. I made it all the way to the end thankfully!

Super Mecha Diggin Dodge Idle by wheelsx 2025-04-08T04:11:33Z

It's crazy that you've been doing game jams for 11 years! I enjoyed this game a lot, it reminds me of those old school chaotic flash games on new ground. It really taps into that monkey brain feeling of click and make things go faster and go boom! Thanks for the game

Sunken Secrets by BinaryPrinciple 2025-04-13T06:56:41Z

That was a fun little game! I think you really nailed the aesthetics. I love the visuals, and the way the submersible moves. Controls were simple and responsive, and the UI was nice and polished looking. It felt like I was playing a shippable game. I was very thankfully for the sonar beeps alerting you of nearby boxes. I wish there was some feedback when shooting the final box at the end, because for the first few tries I was wondering if I was even doing anything. I only decided to shoot it out of frustration when I had scoured the whole map and found no boxes except for the beeping near the big one. Nevertheless, I think this was a solid entry! I hope you continue with this and add some enemies and other challenges/mechanics. Thank you for the game!

Escape The Depths by Jag 2025-04-08T05:31:59Z

@wind1e I'm so glad you had fun play the game! I've tuned down the difficulty a bit to help from levels 1 to 4

@jon-wake Wow thank you so much! Thank you for playing the game, I'll definitely be using the flight controller again. If you don't mind, could you let me know what you feel is wrong with the camera, I can make improvements to it to help

@katastudios Thanks for playing the game! I've gone and reduced the sensitivity of the ship in V1.01, I think it was a bit too sensitive before, it's one of those things you don't notice playing your own game a thousand times, so you need someone to point it out to you. If you find the time, please try v1.01, I hope the controls are less frustrating now

@ace17 I'm sorry! This game is made in Unreal Engine 5, so there is no web version :(

@hollowheartedcabbage thank you!

Used To Be by Heiden.BZR 2025-04-13T05:33:15Z

A fellow Unreal dev! That was an amazing game, I'm super impressed with what your team accomplished in just 3 days. It must have been one hell of a push to have gotten all of this in. I think the biggest standouts for me was the 3D art, textures, lighting, level design, and general atmosphere. Your game's visuals looks so polished, almost shippable even. You made full use of UE5. I really loved the spooky atmosphere, and the message at the end was poetic. I loved the rubber ducks, they helped ground the game a bit so it didn't get too spooky. There were some bugs, but honestly it's completely understandable for the time frame. Unreal is such a heavy engine that it puts you at a huge disadvantage during game jams. I think the ideas were executed well, although I think my one criticism is that it only vaguely touched on the theme. But either way, great game! Thank you for making it.

Mine Goblin by maximevincent 2025-04-21T05:57:22Z

Great submission, fellow Unreal dev! I'm amazed with how much art your team pushed through in just 3 days, it all looks very polished. I think the best thing was the audio, it was a perfect fit for tumbling down the mines as a goblin, and the goblin cries were perfect too.

I like the low-rez filter you applied to everything, it has a certain retro charm to it. I think my only criticism art-wise is that there needs to be more design language applied to things that increase your speed vs. things that slow you down. It took me a while to figure out that the trampoline things actually bounce you up, because the low-rez filter made everything look like an obstacle, including regular barrels. (I know you give instructions in your game post, but I tend to just see the controls and jump right in)

I think the tunnel levels had interesting design and variation to them although there were some moments that were a bit crazy, especially the middle bit where you drop down and there's a barrel but lots of barriers around. That part kept stopping me over and over. I wish the air control was tuned up just a bit higher because it felt like I could barely steer the goblin. I think an interesting mechanic could have been to give us an extra jump if we smash into enough barrels, just so we don't end up to a complete dead stop if we make a mistake near the end, but was doing well the whole time.

Great entry, and thank you for the game!

The Depths of Gitche Gumee by Deruitda 2025-04-08T03:31:00Z

Great job with this! I particularly enjoy upgrade systems and this one was very in-depth. I think this could be super fun if it wasn't for a few issues. I think the drilling needs to be faster earlier on so that we can gather resources quicker, and, while the movement physics were super nice with the buoyancy, it made moving around a bit troublesome. I think the only issue is the game needs to be tweaked a bit so that upgrading earlier is easier, because it was quite slow to get started. But for 3-days, this is insane work! Thanks for the game.

HIM(1).Locked by fosf0 2025-04-13T04:12:27Z

Fantastic game! I really enjoyed this. I think you nailed this jam entry! It's so close to absolute perfection. I think the main things stopping it from being pure perfection was that the password entry should filter out spaces the same way it filters out capital letters, and also the password entry should be focused automatically without having to click it. Also, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the animal was a wolf and not a dog haha, I think the first video with the rain outside of Loyalty threw all of us in the direction of wolf, because that animal looked so much like a wolf. And finally the last password... **SPOILER WARNING** I think it was a funny pun, but after you've played through the game full of interesting and smart puzzles, that last one was just a little too childish so it's just hard to guess because you wouldn't think it would be so silly haha. I think it was funny, but just wasn't fitting to be the style for the final password. Also I think I need an explanation of the ending a bit, I don't fully understand. Hopefully you can post it somewhere so I can make sense of it.

From The Depths by Whysguy52 2025-04-12T04:32:40Z

It's pretty ambitious to try for a Binding of Isaac-like for a gamejam so I really commend the effort! I think it was a fun adventure, but it had quite a few problems that made the experience rough. I agree with the person above that the bats still hurting you even when they're not attacking is quite weird, because I shield blocked one of their attacks, then counter-attacked and still got damaged. But I love the style! It reminds me of runescape a bit

DUCKDEPF by Jona Scheidig 2025-04-08T04:04:12Z

I absolutely loved this game! I got hooked on it quite a bit, and ended up playing for 30 minutes at least haha. I loved the music, and I loved the music pitching lower when you die. The assortment of debris was just perfect, I never felt like it was completely unfair, because everything is signaled well to the player. I notice that you give the player a lot of options, like a float or a dive, AND a dodge. To be honest it was too much than was necessary. I personally didn't find the dodge useful. Anyway, here's my best score:

Descent Protocol by DuKe.ua 2025-04-12T18:20:36Z

A fellow Unreal game! I think the visual polish on this game is top notch, I can definitely relate to how hard it was to get it looking this good. The models and animations felt very shippable. I thought the music was great and I loved that there was voice acting! I think my issues with the game are all gameplay and physics related.

I think the base swinging mechanics didn't feel snappy and fun, and had a very weighty sluggish feel because you're relying too much on Unreal's default physics to move the physics body. I can see the effort to give us an arrow to indicate if we can attach to a wall or not, but the hook shoots out with some delay and so even if the arrow was green for a second it can still miss; it adds to the overall sluggishness. As people above mentioned too, the distance you fall to die feels very short for a video game. If you're trying to be realistic, ofcourse he would die at that height, but then again this guy is a cartoonish character jumping off crazy platforms and doing impossible hookshots, so I feel like leaning to the way of video game fantasy is the way to go.

The level design was also not too great because there were many moments where I could soft lock myself if I failed to collect a vege but landed on a checkpoint further down. I reached the end of level 1, and there was a sign saying I needed to collect every vege, but I didn't have a way to go back or restart the level, so I had to quit to main menu and start over.

11.png

I feel you should include more details about how long it took you all to make the game, which assets exactly were created during the jam, and also detailed credits of who did what on your team. If this was all created in 3 days then I am super impressed! I know how hard it is to make a jam game using Unreal, it's such a heavy engine. Great job, and thank you for the game!

The Little USB That Could by Nescre 2025-04-12T02:45:13Z

I really enjoyed the graphics for this, the visuals really look very polished and shippable. And the music was very fun and fit the gameplay style. But the game itself was too frustrating and unforgiving. I made it all the way to the end of the mirror level and was very conservative with my fuel. I picked up every single key, and ran out of fuel in the blue line section even though I got a fresh batch of fuel before heading in. When I restarted and saw that none of my keys were saved, I just couldn't bear to replay ALL of that again :'( I think there should have been a fuel station near the top of the mirror level, or there shouldn't have been any transistors blocking the shaft heading to the top.

The Deepest Descent by ssiannas 2025-04-13T02:25:53Z

Great game! I enjoyed the art very much, it was simple but very stylistic. I really loved the fireball art the most, it was very well done, especially the green fire. The music was a super fun jam to listen to as you descend into hell haha. I love the little dodge roll you give to the players. I wish it gave you a frame or two of invincibility haha. I loved the different demons coming to get you. I think I managed to get a top score?

Take Your Meds by DubiousDuck 2025-04-08T06:06:51Z

What a great idea! I love your take on the theme by adding depth to the puzzle platformer. Special shoutout to the music for being so nice and relaxing, and also the scripting for the AI and placement of objects in the world. I experienced an issue that I'm not sure is a bug or I just didn't solve the puzzle yet, but I got everyone to their flags but the level did not progress

Chronicles of Victor by NAKS 2025-04-14T04:43:33Z

It's super impressive that you were able to create Vampire Survivors in just 3 days! It functioned exactly like one would expect, with no bugs. I think the best thing about the game was the pixel art, I think the monster designs were amazing, and the weapons and the effects were super cool. The music was very epic too. I love Vampire Survivors so I just had to finish this game!

Untitled.png

I think my issue with this entry is that it didn't do anything that's different from VampSurvivors game design-wise.

MindDive by Tikotey 2025-04-12T04:46:36Z

Great game! I'm surprised with how much you got done for a game jam game! I think the mood for this was excellent, and the music was just top notch. Great job with this one!

Dungeons Below by oopsvincent 2025-04-12T17:57:01Z

This was great for a first Ludum Dare! I think the atmosphere was really spooky. The audio was really really good. In terms of gameplay though I feel it needs a bit more... depth (haha). It was pretty straight forward travelling and clicking to kill some enemies. Would be nice if there was a bit more strategy to which path you could take, and I was hoping to see something spooky at the end, but it kind of ended abruptly. But thank you for the game!

Eyeron Deep by salty_grndpa 2025-04-13T02:08:52Z

The web version was too laggy, so I downloaded the windows version and it ran fine. I like your animations and sound effects! But unfortunately I couldn't figure out what you were supposed to do. I did figure out the right click spin dash, which helped getting around much quicker, but as I went further I would just automatically die every time.

The fate of Carl by SagaDev 2025-04-14T18:43:47Z

This was a great game! Amazing what you all accomplished in just 3 days. The graphics, VFX, and music were all amazing. My only complaint is that it hits a dead end pretty quickly once you've upgraded all your guns, and the game just plays itself, while you occasionally repair some damage. Would be nice to have more turret options and a system of enemy waves where some enemies are resistant to certain guns so you have to sell a gun and replace it to combat the new enemy type.

Deep Dwarf Fantasy by Disvent 2025-04-12T02:11:50Z

I think this was a fantastic game jam game! The art is what really brings it all together, really good artwork that looks so polished. And the programming was top notch as well, I really liked the simple controls and interactions, and the jumping physics felt just right. The concept of digging further and further down really fit the theme. I didn't expect the twist at the end that you weren't saving "her", but rather the devil WAS "her" and you were trying to get to her. I think the only thing that didn't really come together was the game design. It felt like there was a semblance of an interesting game loop here with the shoveling coal and triggering the speed drill, and then heading up top to do some platforming to gather more fuel. But in the end it was just about collecting a few minerals and mashing E a whole bunch of times. I think you guys should definitely continue with this! I really felt like you were on to something there with this game idea!

Narcosis by xen3x 2025-04-12T02:54:00Z

I really like the parallax background effect, and the music had a nice deep sea vibe to it that made it feel kind of scary in a good way. I think the gameplay itself was a bit lacking, because there was no sense of direction and also no way to track if you've found all the gems or not. It didn't help that we had limited oxygen that made the game feel very urgent. I liked the idea that you only have one bullet shot so you have to make it count. I think we could have had more enemies/mechanics that made use of that. Thank you for the game!

The Depths, A Floppy Cat Adventure by KataStudios 2025-04-08T06:24:33Z

I love the aesthetics of the game, they remind me of LittleBigPlanet for some reason with the weighty, physics based movement. I think the game needs a bit of sign posting on how and what to do, because it took me longer than I care to admit to figure out how to get into the submarine. Pressing F didn't do anything for me next to the desk so I had to keep bouncing till I got in the submarine. But once I was in, it was very interesting to dive around!

Thallas by HDVR02 2025-04-23T14:25:58Z

Really really good art and ambience! I'm surprised with the level of quality of the art here, certainly one of the best I've seen all jam. And the music and sound effects were excellent too, I think you succeeded with the spooky deep sea vibe. It's unfortunate that you were not able to finish it, it would have been great to see where you wanted to go with this gameplay-wise!

LD59 — Signal

The Beckoning by Rionisse 2026-04-21T06:24:09Z

I'm also amazed by how gorgeous this game looks! Can't believe you achieved this level of visual polish in 3 days. You even had an intro movie sequence, and the music and ambience was great. Sound effects were well done too. But unfortunately, this game is lacking in game design and level design despite looking so good.

I found the physics of the jumping to be too floaty, and also it's a very unforgiving game. I couldn't get past the beginning area. I went to the left and used the lamp post to get to the top and cross the wooden bridge with falling platforms, but the jump is too painful to do over and over and you have to restart from the bottom and wait for the signal to arrive again and get back up. I think it's too unforgiving. And also I went to the area on the right to the other lamp post, I jumped through the arch but died on the other side.

I think the level design is a bit confusing too. I think the lamp post lifting you up physics is a bit weird. You have to wobble at just the right spot to be able to air dash correctly. Hopefully you can iron out these issues, I'd love to beat this game.

Petalgrams by chelC 2026-04-21T06:31:05Z

I really liked the artwork is was very cute, soothing and pretty. Definitely fit the vibe of a flower shop. I think this was a lovely game, but I found it a bit too difficult. I was trying to piece together what type of flowers each animal wants but it's not very clear. I think that you're given too many choices all at once and it's too overwhelming. I think you could ease the players into it a bit by giving us less options and giving us time to get the hang of what you want us to do. Right now, form the beginning, I have 6 choices, and 8 slots to put into the vase. It's too confusing what each customer wants. I think I only got one right, by giving nothing but roses to the bat.

I think with a bit of tuning and easing into things, this could be a great game!

Crat by deadroach 2026-04-21T06:10:32Z

Hey @deadroach, remember me?! Thanks for playing my game for 3 whole hours last year on stream!

I gave this a try even though you haven't finished putting up your info, I think it was pretty self explanatory. WSAD to move, Space to shoot. But The mouse pointer kind of confused things a bit. I used my left hand to move and right hand to hit spacebar, so having to switch back and forth between space bar and my mouse just to click an upgrade was a bit annoying. I think it would be nice to just have left mouse click as shoot.

I really enjoy your zany creativity! I like that the aliens are cats and they sent crat who shoots mice at mice aliens in a space invaders game. The upgrades were funny, I like that some of them were just straight up debuffs. I saw a 'Lose Instantly'. I think my criticism is that there isn't a way to heal, so I felt I died pretty early and often.

I love your artwork and the music is really moody. Great job with this one!

Ultra Jammed by Jag 2026-04-26T17:20:21Z

@joeshanahan check if your graphics drivers are up to date. You can also try setting the graphics settings to low in the main menu and see if that works for you.

U.F.GO by maximevincent 2026-04-21T05:52:01Z

Yay a fellow Unreal dev. This is a great game! It took me a second to figure out how to play the game, I should have read your instructions properly first, but when I figured it out I had a great time. I was wondering how a traffic signaler game would work, and I think you did a great interpretation of it by letting traffic through on a beat.

I'm really impressed with the level of polish in this game. The 3D and 2D art is amazing. Was this really done in 3 days?! I think it would be nice to have more mechanics to the game in the future, like certain types of cars that push multiple cars through the intersection at once if you let them through, like a powerup. I think it would add more complexity to the game if you want to go further with it. But this was amazing for a 3 day game! Great job!

Edit: Oh wait I just realized you guys did Mine Goblin last year! I loved that entry, it was great! (Too difficult for me though)

Echo Escape by Shlolo 2026-04-21T06:38:21Z

This is really amazing that you made this all by yourself! We had a similar idea at first to do something exactly like this, but we felt it would have been too much for in just 3 days, so major props to you for achieving this. I think it's executed brilliantly. The SFX and VFX are just perfect, incredibly polished. I actually felt scared when the monster showed up. I felt he chases you a bit too hard, and similar to the person above, I could get very far. I think the monsters sight and hearings needs a nerf. Really hope to get to the end sometime!

Gasp Away! by Emsea 2026-04-21T05:58:47Z

I like this entry! The music and the art style is really soothing and nice. I like the idea of sending smoke signals by blowing into a fire, it's super innovative. But I just felt the progress bar mechanic was really confusing. It took me a few tries to understand how it works. I found it weird that you get a progress meter filling everytime you pass in a signal, I assume you're supposed to press the next signal right at the green square. But what about when you reach the end of the morse code for that particular letter? I think that mechanic is the thing holding back this game from being really fun. Other than that it was great! I love the Wilson ball

Red Light Green Light With Teeth by PastMoments 2026-04-24T03:07:17Z

Great game! I think you nailed the spooky atmosphere. The sound effects were perfect. I just felt it wasn't very clear the running on the red light was bad, I feel some sort of effect to indicate it would have been better. But other than that great horror game!
