Thank you for your feedback! Surely the comment version is not quite for jam, just for those who are interested in the game itself. There is T button for restart level and R button for restarting loop. We couldn't make the sounds at time unfortunately :C

Your past version is still you, so he can die and win the same way. And also you are able to "save" yourself, because your past versions are not "ghosts", you can interrupt them. We plan levels when you use that more than now. That won't feel like problem anymore since you known R and T keys now, I suggest :)

It's really cool, I love the progression. However it seems that the game is balanced for hardcore players, not those who just passed by... I've got my first upgrade, but haven't managed to reach even the second one. Which is a pity, because I would like to know what else the game has.

First of all, cool and unique game! Love the idea. I agree with the others though, that the fighting is awkward and unforgiving. I kept misjumping, missing hit and thus getting killed. It doesn't help that there are no way to see the hp or to heal (restore health in the end of the puzzle would be nice. The movement also doesn't feel very comfortable, is to easy to overjump or underjump, so the part with three platforms and the lamp on the third one was painful even without that part when it burried me under terrain. Understandable for a jam, surely. Also.. you really really should have make the restart button, the page reload is quite painfull. I stuck with the same door slay a stone mentions, I believe I tried all reasonable combinations of the four lamps... Is it broken or do I do it wrong? I would like to finish it actually, if it possible.

The parallax looks gorgeous! The gameplay, well. The combat doesn't feel very good. Probably just the lack of animation, it could really benefit from damage impact, and also the attack preparation. Also it's too easy to just ignore enemies and runaway, and then you start questioning, what's the actual goal? The intro says you need to survive the night, but it doesn't look like that is actually a game mechanic. The game clearly needs some goal, whether it is to get somewhere (the goal could be to get out of that place and not die in the process) or, like it was said, to survive some timer. Both would need it to make enemies harder to avoid and funnier to fight.

2/3 when I died it didn't stop game in any way except preventing from picking up the items, so I didn't event understand that I died. When I started to pay attention to that, well, I die very quickly and I barely can enter any near house before I die. The game certainly lacks any goal. Why ever exit the house, if it's safe there? You could add there at least a goal like "find 3 items", that already would be much more interesting. In the lore, it could be like you must find survivors and "help them" by clicking E, so no no new mechanics required. Also I strongly recomend you to put a game screenshot as a cover, the current one is clearly not attractive. I'm here only because I decided to go for games in the order that ludum dare gave me. The shooting part is nice, but again requires some balance, like may be put less enemies and lower their damage. And may be spawn them out of the game view because it looks very strange ot see them spawning right next to me.

Okay, that took me 2 dead runs without dealing any damage, before I actually started to understand how to play this. Or at least any. I managed to kill hero by placing a lot of spawners (when I understood these was spawners) almost in the same spot and after getting +2 speed and +1 health is just win. But I still dont understand what the pickaxe is for, and the description says about 3 abilities, and I only see 2... Also, how do I use the dropped icons from killed spawners? Doesn't seem to be doing something when the king passes by. Feets the theme good, and once I fugured out something, I actually got invested. Did you only make one hero? I would definitely play again if you make more, I can see potential in that, if the heroes have different behaviours. Also I think this game requires some limitations in how dense you can put the spawners, because right now, there is no reason to use this big map and leave that spot that you have.

The graphics are stunning. These jelly cells and the surrounding is so neat. I made a cell game for one of the previous jams, and I wish I could achieve even close with the visuals :D If I may ask, how exactly you animated the bacterias? Was those the frame animations or something procedural? Didn't figure it out quickly enough in how to play it, but it turned to be a nice... colony simulator I guess? I'm usually leaving much more detailed comments, but this is pretty flawless so I'm not even sure what to comment, sorry :D

I can't beleive you made an actual stealth indoor level for the jam. The visual in general, the mood and the stealth part itself are cool. Also kudos to your level designer.

I'm currently stuck in a room with the gun. I jumped down from the vent after getting my first battery, took the gun aaand I can't get out? The door is locked and the jumps are not high enough to get back to the vent. Is there a bug or am I mising something?

Also, I can see you have very low given and received ratings. The ludum shows your game more if you give more ratings to the other games and get likes for your comments for other games. It would be a shame if this game eventually won't even pass the minimum 20 votes, so may be spend some time and check the other games!

@forik oh I see, thank you! Finished the game, loved it. The final getting to the escape pod was dense, a nice change of pace. Now I will whir while eating blueberries :D There's certainly an issue with the color coding. I have spent shaminly much time searching for the second battery, because they are, well, black thingies with yellow parts, just like a lot of other stuff in the game. I searched through all the maps before finding it. Same with the burnable grill, actually, could be that it only shares color with the projectile, and may be with the blueberries.

Why the fullscreen button is locked :( it's so hard to get invested in a tiny square something in the middle of my screen. Even if pixels would be my palm size, i'd still prefered it to be fullscreen... A nice use of halloween theme. I can't say it was particularly fun to play though, mostly, I think, because of the controls, and all these "there's nothing in this grave" lines that kept appearing, required another click and didn't bring anything useful. But in general, also, can't give much in innovation for "find items" kind of gameplay. Nice art work though, kudos for having so many artists and yet having them on the same page.

I like the idea, the graphics and the sound, and the concept of using the audio input is cool. However, the gameplay itself wasn't very funny. Remembering the path to then recite it to the character... doesn't really feel like a game. I finished the levels, watched the third one, and decided I'd had enough. It's a shame, because there was clearly a lot of effort put into this. Maybe the wrong command shouldn't have killed the mouse outright, but made it less and less obedient to your voice, so it would damage itself even more and thus make the map, which in this case should have been more varied, harder to complete. And there could have been some rewards for the mouse in other parts of the map to make it more willing to listen. This could have expanded on the idea of ​​actually communicating with the creature. I just don't know, the gameplay right now doesn't really fit the narrative and isn't gameplay. I also can't help but notice that it doesn't feel much like the 25 universe, other than being an experiment with a mouse.

When I first launched the game I died immediately. Then I tried again, and was confusingly watching the fleas for like 10 seconds, not understanding what to do. I tried to move my mouse first, thinking that would be the rat, but eventually I did notice the rat, who was totally safe all that time because of mighty random. The background is very not much not helping, I believe it would better be just a gray plane. And then I died again, having the setup like in the picture... or the game just crashed, i'm not sure. h9ovlwAH-Dc.jpg I believe this should have a bit more structure; to have wait player to actually put a button before beginning, having some more controller start setup, so player won't die in the very first second. But it fits the theme pretty well, and with some work it can be nice to play. Also I understand that this is this pygame, not an actual game engine, so congrats anyway for reaching this far!

First of all! I really liked the atmosphere, music and visual solutions. Good use of different water creatures and garbage as gameplay mechanics. The comic in the intro was very nice. The parallax effect is amazing. But: 1. The blob does not want to swim up / north, and visually it is not clear at all, I tried for some time to understand what was wrong with the controls. The area where you can not swim should be somehow visually marked. 2. It is not clear where to swim. It feels like I swam all over three times and did not find anything. At the same time, I poked in all directions, which is generally bad, there should be some kind of clear goal or direction at least. 3. As part of the previous point, I still do not understand whether this is a top view or a side view. At first it seemed that this is a top view, because of the blob and because of the background. But it is not clear why it cannot swim "north", and where to move at all. Then I remembered the jam theme, and thought that probably it was a side view, and then the goal would be to swim down, but it looks like you can swim "down" for a rather short time. In general, it is not very clear where we are, how we are and where we are.

Anyway, great job!

@semenchk, I had the intention of making a coop game before the jam had started, as well as we decided to use city surroundings by art reason. So when the theme was set, it was pretty clear that we do some kind of resource picking in the post apocalypse city. The bot came a bit later, again for art reasons, so we woudn't have to make human model and animations :D

@apdt hello! Yep, Radmin/Hamachi/Anything like this, so you could have a certain IP, and check that you can ping each other before you actually try connect in the game. Also you may try Parsec like people above, it let you connect in local coop, which game also supports in split screen mode. I've tried it too, seems very user friendly... But there's a bug in local coop with incap hub, so anyway it's better to try IP connection first.
