good idea and graphics. I think difficulty curve is too exponential, after 20 secs there is no possibility to survive (at least I can just run) and need a close button too. potentially good game however
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD56 → Small Mouths, Big Appetites!

Had some quick fun with this one. No menu or quit button is not too good but fine. Pretty weirdly balanced. At some point I ate everyone on the map and got no winning screen or continuation. I think it could have been fine as an infinite challenge with a generating map or if the player could just grow to a certain size for the win. The lack of time seemingly affected the ending sequence. Not bad for the first appearance on the Jam. Hope you have more to show in the future. Wish you luck as well as better judgement of your abilities for the time limit.
Nice idea, I had trouble with the control scheme. The attack would often miss when I thought it would hit, and you get totally swamped in no time at all. It may have been better to turn to face the spot where you right click to attack as turning to aim was clunky. I managed to live long enough to see a red ant once.
Currently Working on an update that will change the spawn rates and correct Attack Hitboxes
Cool! Ate them all (or at least that the ending told me, didn't look like it) It's confusing where is the area that I need to bite, more than a couple of times I kept biting but didn't actually eat the beasts... Also the animations need to be clearer about the moment when the actual damage is given
I see you have little votes. Ludum has karma system, meaning you need to rate and comment other jams in order for you game to be show more ofter to the other people. This game deserves to pass minimum 20 votes, so may be spend some time for that
Kinda funny how once you get swarmed your pretty much dead
It was a little too hard too quickly; I only lasted about a minute. It would be nice to see some smoother animations, maybe you can add effects when other creatures spawn in instead of popping them into existence? Fairly appropriate audio for the scene though, hahahah. Neat entry! Maybe try out some engines that don't create a game that uncompresses to over 1GB on my hard drive next time though.
So interesting concept and nice game, great job!
antsupremacysmaller.png I had to go cookie clicker on the right mouse button to do this. My main criticism is that there was no feedback, visual or auditory, that I could tell that would let me know I was actually hitting an enemy. I don't know if they all had one hit point or multiple. I eventually was just clicking like mad and hoping I was hitting. Fun little game otherwise.
The animations were well done. The idea itself is really great, eat to become the biggerest and eat anything else that challenges you haha. Good entry.
Interesting concept and nice graphics! The difficulty spikes too quickly, making it hard to survive beyond 20 seconds. A quit button would also be helpful. With some balancing, this game has a lot of potential—great job overall!
A nice game, and these sounds really immerse you in the world of insects. The music seems to overlap a little when respawning
I didn't get a victory screen, but I think I won? other creatures stopped spawning at least. it's a fun take on a IO type game. PS: holding left MB, while spamming right-click is a broken strategy
