I really liked the glow effects. They felt a little bit like a circle, but still looked nice. Sword attack was hard to use without taking damage.

I couldnt play it on web. Maybe try to add it to itchio. I will come back to rate it later!
Overall the vibes for this game are impeccable. However if I had to get one gripe, it would be that the enemies need knockback when hit and like an colour indicator when they are hit.
Looks really interesting, but the web version is fully broken, at least for me on chrome.
The graphics look really cool. I love the mood of the game. How the world is very dimly lit. The backdrops look amazing. Besides that, I feel like the art for the monsters could have been improved. And It's weird how the dark lighting of the world doesn't seem to affect them. Imaginative story concept.
@ratking119 @spoons Web version isn't working but windows version is!
Great game overall. The enemies could probably use some form of knockback but other than that it was a great game
Game was great. Art was incredible.
Really liked the art style and especially the lighting in the game. The atmosphere and environment are drawn uniquely and attractively, pleasing to the eye. The sounds are cool, but the basic gameplay mechanics need some work, there is too little to do in the game
An interesting one. I really really liked the visuals, the world/camera layout, the whole map basically. Where it fell a bit short was movement and combat.. Attacks feel unsatisfying without a hit indicator and one isn't sure if they're doing anything until you kill your first enemy. I'd think something like a red flash and a knockback would be plenty, that would help a ton. Also is there a win condition? Wasn't very clear to me... Once again though, the art and atmosphere are great!
The parallax looks gorgeous! The gameplay, well. The combat doesn't feel very good. Probably just the lack of animation, it could really benefit from damage impact, and also the attack preparation. Also it's too easy to just ignore enemies and runaway, and then you start questioning, what's the actual goal? The intro says you need to survive the night, but it doesn't look like that is actually a game mechanic. The game clearly needs some goal, whether it is to get somewhere (the goal could be to get out of that place and not die in the process) or, like it was said, to survive some timer. Both would need it to make enemies harder to avoid and funnier to fight.
@parxer if you make it till the end of night (about 5mins) the game gets progressively more difficult but it will end with a success screen and a global leaderboard!
@heiden-bzr our session time may be too long... but if you continue to play you'll notice the storms subside and it becomes lighter outside until finally the level finishes!
@dominic-graziano oh, I see! Yeah, then it needs some clearer indicator that the time is going. I tried to check the sky color or the moon position, but it didn't seem to change; I run to the top left and the top right and then there was not much more to do so I just quit...
@heiden-bzr totally understandable! The storm does clear and the sky does grow lighter but since the session time is 5mins it's easy to miss the subtle changes. thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree more indicators would be better... it was planned but we ran out of time :(
Great lighting and graphics! Kinda wish main character would be spotlighted in some way but it works as it is now too.
Background music is nice and doesn't get annoying.
I like the vibe.
Cute lil monsters, just maybe a bit out of overall game style. Maybe making them bigger would work.
It's a great game, I liked playing it
First of all, the game looks really cool! You shamelessly used different art styles and it works! The game has a 90s vibe for sure. In love with how you decorated the level. The only thing that was a little annoying was the music, but that's very subjective. And I really missed the impact of the sword strike on the enemies (audio and/or visual).
Hah, I got the highest score. Granted, I did survive by going into the crevice right next to the church roof and just spamming clicks - enemies couldn't get to me. Regardless, I love the graphics of the environment, they remind me of early 3D PC games.
I wanted to give the game a try, sadly neither embedded nor desktop worked.
Desktop version just wouldn't agree with my PC (and crash my graphics driver).
Is there any change of Itch (or similar) upload?
playing this game I felt like a Jedi who kills enemies
@xparker we want to try but there's a texture issue that takes a while to fix for itch.io version so not sure it'll come soon... sorry!
Visually this has been by far my favourite game so far, I really love the lightning, parallex effect, dark/campy 90s horror theme! I imagine the creatures lack detail/animation because of time, and it's reasonable for a 3 day game jam! I wish the combat and gameplay was a bit more varied and satisfying though!
Visually, the game looks mostly good. The gameplay isn’t as impressive, but with a few improvements, it could be much better.
I really enjoyed the visuals and the overall vibe. However, the combat felt a bit underwhelming. Adding some knockback for enemies and more impact to the sword strikes would make the experience much more satisfying. Despite that, it's a solid entry with great potential! Keep up the great work! :))
I can't get the game to work either in the web, give me an @ when it's up and running ;)
The art and atmosphere are fantastic! The lighting, parallax, and 90s horror vibe really stand out. Amazing visuals. Gj!
Very cool graphics. The atmosphere was dark and creepy until I saw these tiny, cute demons. I wanted to pet them, but I only had a sword, so that had to do.
Like other commenters said, it would be nice if there was an effect when hitting an enemy.
I went all out, killing everything in sight. And I ended up dying.
During the next runs, I made sure to hide, and I managed to survive. At least I showed those monsters who's the boss (when I wasn't hiding). It was fun!
@kadokta The highest score? Not for long. It's mine now. That church is definitely a nice place...

Very atmospheric level. It was a bit slow when colliding with an enemy, but overall I enjoyed the game
Incredibly love the pixel art games, so for arts 10/10 for me!
Very nice art and atmospheric level. Also great addition to add obstacles to the level instead of just having a plain left-right-scroller. Combined input handling (jumping and changing direction) could make it feel a bit responsive. In my opinion lacking: feedback on being hit and hitting enemies, that could add a lot, but time is limited. Solid entry nevertheless.
The effect of the preview is simply impeccable. It feels very much like a knight's adventure, but there is no way to play it directly on the website.
Very nice game ! I really liked the glow effects and overall graphics style but the game could use a bit of visual feedback when the player hits enemies. Couldn't play on the browser though. Very cool global scoreboard too !
Very cool ambiance, the lightsaber is a very good idea for creating this scary atmosphere. Too bad the monsters are not be affected by the lighting, which kind of removes the purpose of being in the dark. The precision of the collisions could also benefit some more work. But very impressive setting nonetheless ! I hope it'll inspire you to use this again !
