This game is crap! 5/5 Stars, no drama.

This game is crap! 5/5 Stars, no drama.
I saved all the Skrungles! Even though I discovered that fight was hardly a good option. However I love the retro graphics and the catchy tunes!
It looks amazing! Though unfortunately, when I'm trying to launch it, it launches as desktop app and not within SteamVR. I'd welcome some advice, so I can try it.
I've tried again today and got it to work. Something must've been wrong with my permissions. Unfortunately I didn't come far since my tiny creatures got launched into the floor and disappeared :( 20241011193222_1.jpg
I blame my setup with the Vive Pro 2 and enjoy your video instead.
I genuinely laughed whenever a duckling died in the most horrible way, since I ignored possible issues. I'm not a monster though. I still felt bad for them.
This one is amazing! Spamming 6 goblin huts per turn felt completely over-powered until my enemy started spamming those electric towers with no hope in countering that. image_2024-10-15_174750937.png
Addicting! However starting at level 6 it too often happens that the lower tiles get clogged up with 2-tile snakes with no hope of removing them which eventually leads to me not finding any possible snakes to select.
Stomping bugs is fun. All the little indicators and icons really help what's going on. However I didn't understand how many bugs actually do upset an inspector. I kept panicking when a bug spawned right inside the next destination of the inspector with no chance of me stomping them beforehand.
Interesting to score by points. However the AI isn't smart enough to stop me from making a very long line and thus quickly winning without thinking a lot.
It's super fun and cute! First I expected the creatures to be hostile and was positively surprised they all help you in some way or another. Unfortunately you can get stuck and then you're unable to proceed.
Interesting mechanics that force you to put some thought into every move. I can perfectly see myself playing this game with a friend on a regular basis, trying to outsmart each other.
I like the concept of non-traditional tower defense games like this. I think it can be the base of a greater, more complex game.
Though I was wondering what it actually had to do with farming, as I was rather shooting the slimes down. Also the difficulty scaling of the rounds was questionable as often later rounds were suddenly easier than the one before that.
This one is super cute. However, as other mentioned before, it triggers my OCD by not being able to rearrange my Mims. Once you do a mistake you can not correct yourself. Also it would be nice to have an option to discard Mims from your hand to make room for better options.
That one was fun. Especially since you could technically let the fleas fly to get past some obstacles easily. Lovely art style! But the music loop felt a little bit short, considering the length of this game.
If the hoard of cats weren't so incompetent, this would make for a great stealth game! Love the concept.
Never seen a slug this fast! It's great fun! I like the combat system and the animations.
NOM NOM NOM! Very fun concept, despite being a bit too easy. The sound design was cute. Controlling a ravenous swarm is a great power fantasy!
This one was simple and fun. It made me feel a little bit nostalgic to the old flash game days, even though I can't recall any game similar to this one. I like how the pitch of the SFX rise with the fire rate.
Very fun take with the money, almost feels like a statement. Also I couldn't stop chuckling at the tunes the birds sung.
Such a fun concept and game! Even though the first few levels are pretty easy, because all the bugs also get squashed by a standing car.
Feels like a very interesting idle game. Though I also managed to break the framerate by spamming certain options. Still great fun!
The slug felt really slippery while playing, which made jumping on shrooms a big hassle, considering you often have to pick up and replant them. However the variety of mushrooms and the puzzle design itself was nice. Maybe I just have an aversion to platformers. Plus I really liked the graphics.
It's a nice concept and simple design. However once you have 5 organelles and put them all on damage, you automatically win every fight.
It's a nice concept and genre mashup of tower defense and exploration. But as others mentioned before it yet poses little challenge. Finding the larva only takes time and patience.
Woah, complicated game! Very easy to lose a few screens, but very interesting concept. Music is relaxing and fitting. Impressive that you wrote you own renderer, that goes without saying.
This is a cool demo to play around with! Even though I was unable to envelop the other amoeba and eat it. Instead the level just reset itself.
@thelastslowpoke Very cool that eating them is featured! I was just following my single braincell instincts
I believe that's what all Mexicans have to go through to reach adolescence.
Impressive level size for a jam! However I felt like the darts should belong to the left mouse button as it is your primary weapon. The honey hardly made any difference for me while playing. Perhaps more challenging enemies and forcing a more tactical approach from the player would've done this entry good.
Reminds me of the good old age of war flash game series.
I've never played an auto-racer before. Chill concept. I enjoyed this entry, even though the audio crashed halfway through for me on opera.
I love the concept of mixing an interactive game with personality tests. I'm also positively surprised that my actual MBTI (INTP) differs from my results of your game. I suppose player type and personality don't always align with each other. image_2024-10-11_123440191.png
Yes, web version seems to have been scaled wrongly. Otherwise I think the towers feel not very impactful. Many of the upgrades give multipliers. I'm not sure if the thumbnails are misleading but are there actually tower segments which lower the damage of my towers?
This could really grow into something! I like the atmosphere and the overall level, but as of now gameplay and activities seem lacking.
Great game for a first entry! Very simple indeed and there's lot of room for improvement. But it's complete and features multiplayer, which is already more than just a prototype. So be proud and keep on learning!
@blazzguy @gustavo-muller @vlad-russu @sharky3188 @pijinguy @thaunter @dean-goodson @brainles-etertainment @wouterk12 @hotdog @zackfree @mranarion @calcopod @pietmichal Thanks for playing! Glad that you enjoyed it!
@budaniel @holysparks To be honest, it's a bug that some enemies can withstand several hits as they're all only meant to withstand just one hit. But it felt right to keep it as is to have some more menacing foes. However I agree that in the long run I would have rather introduced separate enemy types.
@neoawesomeon @cliff-coffee @pietmichal It was my first time trying to do all visuals by myself and went with this simplistic retro style. I keep your feedback in mind for the future. Thanks!
@heiden-bzr Yes, some levels with confined spaces can be very hard, especially if you lost your RNA (your life) and can't get back to it. I tried different level designs to create different kinds of challenges. But perhaps some additional mechanics, like dashing through enemies, could help in these situations and still keep the game challenging.
@triggthediscovery Hah, nice! Unfortunately I'm not that old. My art inspiration was VVVVVV. Today I learned a new thing. Thanks!
@conor-wilson Thanks for the kind words. I've been through a streak of bad luck recently. LD56 really has been a little highlight for me. I had a lot of fun developing this game and still have fun testing all the other cool creations, so I'm doing well so far.
@immensedruid Thanks! The old Legend of Zelda games were a major inspiration for this one.
@paulmag Both of the things you found were bugs I observed but didn't fix. However it never happened to me, that an enemy stuck to my head. That's very unfortunate.
@sleepystudios @dgspitzer Thanks for playing and thanks for the positive feedback!
@hakimallazi I'll make sure to learn how to export Godot games for web next Jam
@hakimallazi I've done some quick research. According to Godot's docs web exports won't run on macOS and iOS if developed with Godot 4 or greater. MICROSLAYER was developed with Godot 4.3, so I'm afraid it's not possible to export it for mac at the moment. I lack the necessary means to export it natively for mac. When support for that is added for Godot, I might look into it again. But right now it doesn't seem to be possible. I'm sorry :frowning2:
Very cool concept, even though it's quite complicated to understand at first. Once you get into it, it's fun to build your cells and experiment with it. It reminded me of some space shooter I've made during college.
Aside from a tutorial a dedicated build menu would also help. Having a dialog for each cell in contrast to a menu, where you select your cells and then paint them onto the hex grid, would reduce the effort of expansion a lot and might also be easier to understand.
I have the feeling this game was sped up during testing for development ;). No offense, but it feels like one of those idle games you play at the side which take forever to complete. Yet I love the graphics and animations. Super cute, chill and fun to watch fish work.
Wow, so many options to fight the ants!
Jumping and climbing looks fun! But I keep clipping through stuff and the jumpy camera movement makes it hard to control where you want to go.
Hey a strategy game! That's always complex to tackle within the scope of a jam, so you've got my respect for that. It worked well for me, however it took a while to figure out how things work. The controls felt weird and seeing them only pop up during the intro results in me forgetting them immediately. A few hints here and there or maybe even in the game description would have helped.
Aside from that, it lacks a bit of challenge later on with no clear goal. But that's understandable given the time constraints.
Took me a while to understand to pick up food by touching it and then carry it on your back. Perhaps carrying it with the mandibles is something that works well, too? Also, I'm not sure if it's yet possible to get past Day 2. Guests are coming in faster than I can serve them. Aside from that, great performance for your first game! Keep it up, keep learning and improving. All of us do so here. By the way, I adore the title of the game.
That's a very cool and funny idea! Unintentionally shrinking yourself multiple times is hilarious!
All the criticism and tips I would give are already pointed out above, so I'll leave you with a well done  Impressive for your first game jam.
Music, SFX and graphics tie well into each other. It may just be me, but the ant feels a bit sluggish. I think the ant would also greatly benefit from a cute walking animation.
I love the art style! Unfortunately it's all so tiny that it's hard to see the details. I didn't even notice at first that touching pathogens marks them with an antibody.
