The space button doesn't seem to do anything? I couldn't do anything else than wander around. I'd be glad to retry your game if you could tell me how I can collect the slimes. Graphics looks nice though!
Really fun game! I really enjoyed the gameplay loop and coming back to a turret to find a bunch of currency was very satisfying. One note is that I think the tutorialization could use a bit of tuning, since it took a bit of trial and error to figure out what to actually do.
@chocolat-endive @alexhicks Thank you for all the feedback! You can carry and drop the turrets with Space. Also you can check the game from itch io while i'm trying to solve the issue with ludum dare's web version.
@safalevent Awesome will give it a shot over there
I enjoyed playing this game! The top-down tower defense style gameplay was an interesting re-envisioning of the genre. The music got a bit repetitive after a while.
@safalevent thanks! I'll try it again tomorrow. For now, it's time to sleep I'm exhausted!
Great entry! Once I figured out what to do it got a little easier for. For some possible polish it may be helpful to use some sort of UI to direct the user downward at the start. Your eye initially catches all the cool stuff you can buy and by then you other wasted half your time. I would avoid starting the round timer at the start until you start moving so people can get their bearings straight and read any text that you had on screen for diretion.
It's an interesting idea, but I didn't understand if I needed to donate nectar.
I tried to play it on itch and it seems to load fine, but I haven't been able to carry turrets by pressing space. Am I missing something?
Fun wave defence concept, really satisfying to build bigger and bigger turrets. It would have been nice to be able to place the turrets where i wanted, as the management of picking up and placing new turrets got a bit tedious.
Cute spaceship and slimes. Setting looking nice and turrets are fun to watch lol. Rounds time are pretty long imo. Great game!
Absolutely fun to play. I just addicted to gather all nectar and watch turrets when they are farming. I like the game overall. <3
Great game, nice matching with theme, keep going
really liked the visuals and the atmosphere, it would be nice to add laser shooting sound effects. Excellent job!
Good job on the game! It's a simple but addicting game loop with lots of potential for further development. You guys managed to implement a lot of mechanics in such a short time, amazing!
Some feedback if you want to keep working on this nice game: - The player start position is not optimal and you should start further behind. When i first started, i saw the 3 turrets directly in front of me and tried to pick them up with space. But of course i couldn't because these are turrets that you have to buy later. The first turret is behind the player and if you don't notice that you just fly ahead. You can see that some ppl commented having the same problem, thinking that the game is bugged which is not the case. - I really missed some kind of map/minimap. The level is not huge and yet i already started losing my overview. - I would love to have some additional view/camera for my turrets, where i can simply switch between all my placed turrets and see how they are doing and where to go next / which ones to replace and so on
Very fun little incremental game. I agree with the other commenters, I got confused when I first started as I didn't notice the free starter turret and was flying around wondering why I couldn't do anything. I also think the scaling breaks somewhere around Level 5: there are no new mechanics introduced past that point, you're raking in slime faster than you can spend it on upgrades, and the goal amounts are so pitifully low that you don't really *need* to upgrade, so it just becomes a case of how long you can fly around watching Number Go Up before you get bored. It'd be nice to see an expanded version of this with more mechanics and better balancing, to keep you engaged for longer.
I like the concept of non-traditional tower defense games like this. I think it can be the base of a greater, more complex game.
Though I was wondering what it actually had to do with farming, as I was rather shooting the slimes down. Also the difficulty scaling of the rounds was questionable as often later rounds were suddenly easier than the one before that.
