Super interesting take on theme. Really refreshing mechanic!
Really refreshing to see different input types being used. I thought the use of voice was really creative. The art also matches really well. I watched my partner play it and it was fun to imagine a little movie with what I was saying in the screen and the deep sounds of someone calling to the birds ahah That was awesome
This was awesome, really unique. I feel kinda inspired to try something new with the medium and out of the box in the next game jam I participate.
This is such a cool take on the theme! I found the editing graph mechanic super interesting and fresh. The chat with the boss was super funny too. Great work!
Beautiful art. Btw this page only has a link named Windows - for some reason I still clicked it and found that you have a web version on itch. Would suggest to have a link here saying Web as well since a lot of people are more likely to play if there's a web version (aka me who only has a mac / doesn't like downloading things)
Fun and excellent feedback in all the right places with sound, animation, vfx. Impressive for 4h for sure.
I love the art and the storytelling! A bit hard for me, I died quite a bit. Felt like I wanted the controls to be less sensitive, but maybe I just need to practice more. Really nice and polished game, gj!
I really liked the concept and the mood. Great take on the theme. I played it the first time without reading the instructions and missed the part about being able to dodge with space. Would be cool to add this as an instruction in the build itself so that it's self-explanatory. Nice work!
The webgl version worked for me. Nice work :) It was fun exploring the ocean
Also didn't load for me, would love to try it when it's fixed.
I get this in the console: "SnareHTMLPoint.framework.js.br:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token SnareHTMLPoint.loader.js:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: unityFramework is not defined at HTMLScriptElement.r.onload (SnareHTMLPoint.loader.js:1)"
I think it's the same error I was having and enabling "Compression Fallback" on Player Settings > Publlishing fixed it for me. Unity page: https://docs.unity3d.com/2020.2/Documentation/Manual/webgl-deploying.html?_ga=2.123109064.233467614.1619498452-1186126474.1619226255
The kids art in the beginning was really effective, I think I will have nightmares now ahah Great work on storytelling and the game!
I liked the surprise element of the character shapeshifting. In the first wave where it got narrower I thought "uh-oh" but then that happened. Really nice game! I made it 77% to my true beauty :)
Really cool concept! Some thoughts to improve would be: - Bigger text (I was playing in my 13" laptop and even in full screen was very hard to read) - Adding a state/feedback when you reach the end. Like mentioned above, this is not obvious.
Other than that I thought it was a really strong concept with matching art and sound which created a consistent mood
Really nice controls and the penguin animation is great!
Some of the results of doing the quests are funny :) Very interesting to play a game that relies in the narrative more than anything else. This could be a good start for a quest system in a bigger game. Congratulations!
Very fun concept, made me laugh. The character creation is a nice touch, made it feel a lot more personal
Cool experience. Felt like wandering endlessly for an escape which seems fitting to the reference
Wasn't sure if I was supposed to be able to progress after the first room. The setting was interesting, and the intro dialogue helped add to the mood and narrative. The flares seemed interesting but I didn't figure out the end goal during my playthrough
Nice work in your first game jam! I liked the getting sleepy animation to add to the game narrative. I wasn't able to beat the level, only ever got to 4/7. The mood was good at conveying the feeling of trying to escape nightmares.
Nice art and overall mood. I think a bit more feedback when a life is lost would improve it, so that I notice it more and start being more careful.
Who designed this ship?! Awesome title ahah I agree with some of the above comments that controls feel very odd at first but after a while they feel more natural. Nice mechanic, leading to really silly mistakes. I also liked the art, especially the little character. Gj!
@j0ye Thanks! You can never have enough remotes and pizza under the couch ahah We wanted to have more item art to make it a bit more diverse but didn't have time to get to them. I guess it creates funny stories of someone who hoards remotes?
Thanks for playing @kameia! And Thanks @jacobrutter I am happy both you and your wife had a fun with this :)
Thanks everyone!
@vaincil Yes, it's super difficult with the trackpad. I play with that too on my MacBook and thought the game was very difficult but for mouse we found it was super easy, this is why we ended up adding the difficulties actually to try to improve it and make it balanced in more cases within the time we had ^^
@dhim Thanks for the suggestion! I added it on the itch page :) Couch colors would be great! I actually had a blue, red and yellow that I made to choose which color looked better, should've kept them all as options ahah
This is too real π’ simple but deep. Great work
Awesome work and take on the theme. It ended up being a fun educational experience. The simple are works really well here. Just the initial level was impressive, but making it roguelike with a progression system and everything made it over the top. Congrats!
I loved decorating my living room! And I can relate to getting many plants during this time and working so hard to delay the inevitable - that they die ;___;
I really enjoyed this game, the art, the music, the concept. So relaxing. Congrats :)
This is incredible! Very nice finished game. The enemies were so creepy, it created an intense suspense as I played. I am just amazed at the level of polish for a game jam. Great work :o
I really liked the animation of the hair reacting to the wind. I think you got the mood quite right. And I also enjoyed the name of the game and how you took that concept into reality. The timelapse was cool too watch too. Great work!
This feels very nostalgic. The art is really good and the sound as well. I really felt the suspense and dread as I moved around the ship. Great work here, a really polished experience.
Art is so great! I love the main character. The audio fits in very nicely, the interactions and UI feel really good too. It was cool that there was progression to, with finding new materials and all. Nice work!
I really liked exploring the dungeon with the golem :) The characters and level art were very nice. Great work!
Really appreciated the messaged of the game, and found really interesting that you made me go forward and backward in time to think about different perspectives. So cool. Great work!
The art is beautiful and music fits in nicely. I loved the memes and that you can go outside lol Very nice
You really nailed the mood. It was very creepy and unsettling. I liked the art and some of the visual effects you did with the space. I couldn't quite figure how to select choices. Great work!
This is really amazing. Everything was great and well executed. I loved the idea.
Ahah this was funny. The sound made me want to press the button to the beat but that makes me lose! Nice entry :)
Really cool, reminds me of playing D&D. I liked exploring the are a lot. Great work here! I can see the potential
Loved the art and colors. The mechanic is clever and fun. Feels really good to play.
I loved the mood so much. It was relaxing, and I found the gameplay nice and interesting. I felt transported into this situation, and the music gave it such a movie vibe. The art was fenomenal too. Really great work here. Congrats!
Nice! Reminds me of Don't Starve. I really liked your art style and the mood the game has. Would love to have the controls showing in game beside the crafting shortcut so I don't keep having to reference it. I I really enjoyed it, great work!
I found the solution quite creative, and I really appreciated that there isn't time constraint and I could fail a few times before getting how to play. Great work!
The art and mood was really good
This was awesome, reminded me of Stanley Parable. Great work!
Great art, and super polished! Wow! I really liked the idea of needing to create the level to progress. Nice concept. Great work :)
I love it!!! It feels just like trying to move cats when they are lazy or don't want to be moved. The main mechanic was done really well. The art is also very nice. Great work :)
Really like the take on the theme. Thanks for letting me experience what it feels to be a game director so I can plan for the future ahah
The art is amazing and the take on the theme is really funny!
Not sharing my score because I was terrible! I loved the art and the gameplay was fun. Took me some time to figure out the controls but when I did it was great. Nice work!
I liked the base concept. It was fun to play for a few rounds but I wasn't sure when I was winning and if there was an end game? Would be interesting to see where you can take the core idea. I think it could be an interesting mobile game like you mentioned. Great work!
Great art, loved the character as well as the level look-and-feel. The narrated lines were also a really nice touch. Good work
Very nice that you got some 3D art. The mood of the game was great. good work!
First game I won :D Your take resonated with me, just one more thing to do tonight ;) Great work!
Wow, the artstyle is great. I loved the character art. The camera felt a little bit hard to control, and the jumps were huge. I wasn't able to get many coins so I guess I'll be in debt forever :') Great game!
I'm not crying :'| Really loved the game, despite being really sad. I liked the mechanics a lot. Reminds of the game Florence. Lovely game, great work
Thanks everyone for playing! And thanks for the feedback which will help improve the quality ^^
@kndratova thanks for playing! We wanted to do more endings depending on how many you get but currently there are only 2 - win and fail.
Really enjoyed the art and felt the writing fit in well, both brought a good mood to life. I really appreciated the how to play screen. Not a big deal but when playing the web build the Quit buttons don't work - but I am thankful you made a web build so I don't mind that too much. Great work :)
It was a very emotional journey, I loved the photography mechanic and seeing everything at the end with the notes. The art and mood was beautifully done too.
Loved the story and art. Great work <3
Very beautiful game, I love the style. Really achieved the emotional feel and build up. The end was bittersweet.
I love the art, but it was too hard for me. I die right away. But maybe that's the point?
I thought the idea of losing controls was really creative. It would be good if it was just temporary but maybe that wouldn't fit the theme as well. Nice work!
Great mood, theme and premise. Some of the choices were interesting, some where odd. But overall I thought this was a great idea and take on the theme! I might play it again so see what happens when I am really suspicious...
The overall aesthetic is beautiful, both art and audio, and the intro sequence is stunning. I like that the gameplay is relaxed, and the idea of trying to plan your route to avoid traps and get certain tools. I didn't quite get how to use the tools and what was the objective of the game. But I had a good time playing it for a bit. Good work!
Liked the idea right from the name. I was able to make a few art pieces while thinking about becoming a rancher. Great work :D
I spent a lot more than expected playing the game. It is really fun. I am still stuck at 28/31 tiles. I agree with the comment above that it would be great to not have to click the x to cancel out the tile before selecting another. I would also have liked a different visualization for the unlockable tiles that suggested a bit of the path to get there... but maybe that's because I am stuck ahah I like the illustrations too. Great game! (update: just missing 1!!!)(update 2: I did it :D)
Very cool art for the characters, it would be cool if the camera was closer so you can see them more during gameplay.
Super polished, really liked the art style of this and the sound fits well. Interesting idea to mix the two genres. Great work!
It was so fun and funny! Just dropping stuff on the truck was fun and silly but then trying to carry it through was the best. Great work!
I got the good ending... but is that good? Really like this type of game. The first puzzle took me probably way too long but it was fun :p Great game
Great art and promising puzzle mechanics. Took me a while to get how the corn worked and how to not lose my plants. I also got the message to reset something in code when I lost one of the times ahah Nice work on this game, could definitely see it expanding
@adam-burt Thanks for playing and the feedback! I agree with the lack of agency, it was something I was thinking about but in the end didn't have time to add this aspect. Would love to add stuff like that at some point to make it more interactive and engaging
@huozhedexiaoc Thanks for the feedback! Yes I think some way to include the player more as you mention would be a great improvement
The art is so beautiful and the music fits perfectly. I also really liked the text animation, though it was just a bit slow. Everything is super cute. Great work!
The web version worked for me here on the page! I like the vibe of the rooftop and was able to plant some seeds. Not sure how to make time go by though. And also where to find the cat :p
I was able to play the browser version on itch.io. Loved the art and sound, and the idea of using cards to move and complete the puzzles. Nice work~
It was very engaging to play, I finished all the levels. There was interesting puzzles due to the mechanics. The narrative and writing were very intriguing until the end, it kept me playing to know what happens. Great work!
Nice and relaxing, but the start was quite slow. I think speeding up a bit as mentioned would make it spike up interest faster.
Only got 181! I really like the theme and the cards. Why there are so many bills (in game and real life :') )? You're just missing the 'do the dishes card' (unless I missed it) and then you would've capture the essence of life. I was a bit confused by the cards and wasn't able to fully figure out how to make it through longer but I was really intrigued by the game and think it could become something really interesting. Great work!
The mood was perfect. Art, sound, everything. I liked the narrative of having to collect the dreams. It was hard but not losing progress when I lost really helped. Nice well rounded game!
I loved it! And it was funny to grow steak on trees ahah I really had fun with this game and trying to guess how to make certain recipes sometime without looking at the solutions. It took me a while to realize I could go to other rooms (the field room) so I think that could be more obvious. Great work!
The gameplay felt really really good and polished. The animations feel really nice. It's quite zen and relaxing as it seems you have some timing buffer to give me time to look for any connections im missing before it pops. I was so focused having fun connecting the blobs I didn't realize I was losing and got game over. I wonder if there is some mode you could do where there is not as much pressure due to the lose condition? I found the speed at which I was connecting to be enjoyable... so how to keep that slower speed but still engaging and have some different win/lose state. This was really great and polished though, great work!
Wooooah! That was a neat experience. Nice work!
Really liked the concept and size difference of the creatures. The sound effect and animations were cute. I liked to strategize where to put units. But I couldn't tell how many units were left or why I lost. Might have to give it another try to explore the synergyes. Great work!
Amazing graphics and gameplay feels really nice. I think I couldn't figure it out entirely so only survived a few rooms but it was fun. Great work !
I really liked the concept and the art! I didn't quite get everything and didn't reach something as advanced as other players. But with some more clarity and tutorial would be a really fun sandbox to experiment ^^
The vibe is really on point for a strange / supernatural setting. I like the pace being slower so it feels like you are discovering things. But if felt a bit too slow. Unsure if I was doing something wrong. If this is the pace would be cool to have a speed up/down button, so when I want to decide and place things I slow down but when I am waiting I can speed up. Really cool concept though! I hope one day to find what's up with the hole
This game was super cozy! I loved the idea of having little fairies to help you in the kitchen. I was kinda overwhelmed by how much there was to do but then realized the fairies are there to help out and fill in the gaps ^^ It was lovely to experiment and make nice looking cake slices. The are in general is really good. Great work on this entry <3 I could see it being a nice switch game!
Took me a while to pick the locks but I did it! I didn't get it right away how to light the matches and the candles, I kind pressed many buttons until I saw something happened. Maybe the inputs could be more clear. I loved the art and vignette style, and the mood is on point. Great work!
Really enjoyed the main mechanic, I think it really made me feel like I was using a microscope x) The hidden area and figuring how just enough for who are the good creatures made it a fun challenge and risk/reward. The graphics work really well for the overall aesthetic you were going for. Game is really polished! A small improvement could be to show the controls. Great work!
Trying to put the slimes on the display was so funny x) Great work!
Making the web feels extremely cool! I don't think I've ever played anything like this? I feel you could use this even to make art ahah It was really fun. The telegraphing for where bugs will appears is super helpful. This is a really great game and quite polished!
Character is super cute and sound was so nostalgic <3 Was super easy to learn to play too. I lost in the burners and couldn't figure out how to get past that. Nice work on the game :)
This game made me smile :) Art is beautiful and audio is so soothing. Made my day happier. Would be really curious on how this could be expanded into something to do a little bit everyday for fun and mediation. Great work here!
I tried to play it on itch and it seems to load fine, but I haven't been able to carry turrets by pressing space. Am I missing something?
The sound is hilarious. Feels a bit like being in some weird nightmare. Really funny humour and interesting contrast between the environment art and the tiny creatures.
From the start I felt this game is very magical. Playing through it is very relaxing and meditative. I loved to move around and discover all the beautiful art, and chatting with different creatures sharing their random thoughts and thoughtful questions. Felt like I was in a dream. This is such a unique entry, thanks for making this!
Adorable art and concept! I love the twist that losing = winning ^^ I had a bit of a hard time understanding the gameplay until I saw the first comment that said 'Vampire survivor' :p Maybe some prompts saying which button to use could help clarify. Great work~
Love the art style, and the animations and feedback of the boxes and spawning felt really good adding to the fun of the game. The little creatures are super cute. I found it fun to place the blocks like a puzzle to get the higher level creatures. It's also fun to discover new types of blocks. Great work!
This is too real ahah Loved the concept and sound effects were funny!
Wow! This is really amazing! Art is perfect and gameplay feels like being a crowd of tiny flees. Really great idea on the unique mechanic of controlling a crowd of little creatures. Puzzles were fun to solve too. This is a really great take on the theme <3
The characters are super cute! The monster is scary :p I enjoyed the mechanic but found it a bit too hard. Maybe because I was using the trackpad. I love how you need to take care of the little creatures and put them home but they also are a bit disobedient and keep coming out x) Very nice!
The main mechanic is quite clever, and it's so fun to think how you can create the shapes you need to solve the puzzle. I also really loved the art style, is simple and cute. I could imagine in the future you could animation the little squirrels and it would look so cute like they're trying to help and hold the shape together. Great work ^^
Wow, there is so many creatures to discover! I found this so cool! Love the creativity and experimentation to find out different things. And the little creatures walking around after. I didn't see the book right away, but maybe that is intended? Great work on this game ^^
This was really fun to play! I loved the high level view and the little dots as the creatures. It could be expanded to a full game especially with improving on some feedback - would be nice if it was more clear how long is left for a wave so the breaks aren't so jarring, and also more clear that the blue numbers are mana. The blue hearts I wasn't sure what they were. And I would love to see the animals as little sprites/3d character. The game is really fun, great work!
The graphics and art style are very unique and cool! I liked the gameplay but felt the controls werent very responsive which made it hard to learn/make sure I was doing the right thing. Maybe some more feedback to acknowledge actions would help. Great work!
This is so cute, I absolutely love the graphics! The gameplay is also relaxing and satisfying. The non-primary color rexes add a really fun twist and challenge. This game is super nice ^^
@filgreen3 Thanks for playing! And absolutely, adding more reactivity of the creature and making the ui more themed are great points and is something we wished to do but ran out of time :') It's something we want to improve after the jam is done ^^
@sharky3188 that is a great note! As of now, there is just simple timers to prevent spamming actions so you didn't miss something but I see it can cause confusion. In the future we wanted to connect it with the values and have cues from the creature of what they are needing.
Yey! Yes the creature reached the last stage of happiness π₯³ Thanks everyone for the feedback, lots of great ideas too! π I will reset the counter so new players can try it out :raised_hands:
Thanks for trying ^^ @doridie Cool to hear you were able to play it with a friend :raised_hands: Oh having to find a balance between players could be interesting and add more player to player interaction too!
@gudkova-ds thanks for the feedback! I used google translate so hope it is right, but agree it should be clear what the values will be and also maybe make each action different.
I am noting the general thoughts about lack of feedback for sure, if you have ideas or more detail please keep mentioning ^^ I will collect all feedback at the end of jam to think of what to do next~
Btw I will reset the counter again so new players can try it out :raised_hands: Nice work everyone reaching the top happiness again!
@the-e-word would you like to be i.e. be able to choose what item to add to the creature for other players to see?
@velvetlobster the customizations are unlocked automatically when a certain happiness is reached. All players actions contribute to the same happiness counter. I think you played when everything was unlocked since I see happiness 129 in the screenshot (final unlock is at Happiness 90). If you try again now the pet has been reset so you should be able to experience the multiplayer aspect :) (there is only one pet that everyone takes care of together).
But thank you for the questions, in the future I will try and make it more clear!
@designernap that's great ux feedback - I didn't even notice that could happen and definitely want that to be more clear ^^
@rufenerd @lolhopen Thanks that is the main concept yeah ^^ And thanks for the feedback! For now there is just the part that everyone collaborates, with just timer/cooldown on the actions to prevent some spamming and balance how many actions you can do to allow more people to contribute. In the future we hope to add more so that which actions you pick matter and there is more feeling of collaboration with others
@sarah so happy you were able to play at the same time as someone else! That's what we're going for but hard to coordinate, so we love when it happens ^^
@frozenfire92 it's a bit simple server wise which also adds limitations on the design. We used firebase real time database, and someone made a godot plugin to work with that. There is some nuance about how to use this while staying in the free tier (it depends on how much you use).
In the end is just a special online database you write/read data from and get events. In terms of exporting, there was some steps mentioned on extra things to check/write in godot but nothing too crazy I think (my teammate did it). The downside is we weren't able to embed in this ludum dare page because of being networked which was sad but still works on itch  Hope that helps!
@frozenfire92 Yep! For this we were monitoring it first day - but seems we are not really stressing it, so so far so good and seems we're quite far from the paid tier. But for a 'real' project I wonder how soon you hit that threshold. It definitely was easy/quick to setup and has benefits like you get to see the database in a dashboard too. So we were able to use that for resetting the pet now and then so new players can always try the progression ^^
@wendel-scardua that is something I would love to keep, I like the idea of as you mention not having to create accounts/lobbies/etc. More of a community feel.
And yeah will definitely want to expand on the gameplay and feedback of actions, probably first thing I will try and do after the jam and voting wraps up :raised_hands:
Thanks everyone for playing and for the feedback ^^ @she-wrote for sure! It is about community play but currently there is low odds to run into someone else at the same time. We'd like to find some way to show more the async contributions of others as well as add more cooperation as @bashem mentioned and chat as you are suggesting :)
Everything worked perfectly to convey the main message and story - with great visuals and audio to match. The mechanic of having to put effort into some of the options by uncovering them/going through your depression/bad thoughts worked perfectly in this scenario. It's impressive how you were able to bring this all together in such a short time. The story is deeply touching and emotional, and I am sure some people will resonate with this. Thanks for making it and sharing <3
Loved discovering new types of goobers and exploring. Unfortunately I couldn't help them escape :,) Really fun game and really complete. Great work!
Nice illustrations for the animals! Puzzles were fun :)
The game is absolutely beautiful, the audio works really well and the text is really engaging. The mini games throughout the narrative were a great change of pace. Really impressive and polished for a game jam. Great work!
The game art and characters were very cute. Would be nice if you could bait them to shoot at each other as was mentioned. The addition of the leaderboard was really impressive and adds a motivation to keep retrying. Great work on this ^^
Really well done creepy vibes! I love personality tests, so I loved this especially having the 'questions' be interactive bits. The art is great and audio really fits. I saw you did it all which is super impressive. Great work!
Ohhhh very challenging and fun! Feels fun to try and figure out how to solve the puzzle even if sometimes feels you are doing something that is breaking the rules :p Great work!
I had so much fun with this game. I really like the mechanic of looking for things based on the cues and hints. The art style is really cute and audio fits really well. The audio for finding a creature was really funny!
Also couldn't play here but worked on itch :) I didn't quite get it at first until I read the bottom of the page to copy data and play as mouse. I really like the idea especially the fact that you could play with friends! ^^ Great work!
The game mood was perfect. The light mechanic was very unique and the fireflies effect looked great. Great work ^^
Fun game! I like management games like diner dash so this gives me that vibe. Was fun to go catch slimes and come back to the shot. (Though I feel bad for the slimes because they are cute :<) Sometimes when I tried to make slushies it didnt go through the process and was like just still, I couldn't figure out why. Is there a button I need to press? Nice game overall!
Love the little ducks and the art style. The main mechanic was fun to play and figure out. It was nice that I could leave the ducklings distracted near the exit while I looked for the rest of the ducklings. And the audio effects are super funny x) Great work!
Would like to try as well if you can fix the web version! There was some info here, maybe it's this issue? [Ludum Dare Embedding guide](https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/#:~:text=webgl%2Ddeploying.html-,Godot,-Mike%20has%20been)
Really nice animation and art!
I couldn't figure out right away but when i did it was fun. The criteria wasn't super clear, I thought it would change each level. Would be nice to have random criterias every run (which flowers you should go to or avoid). I didn't make it to fancy bee :')
