I like the idea, but the over all feeling of the game was a bit clunky.

I like the idea, but the over all feeling of the game was a bit clunky.
Very simplistic but addicting. Should have had a winning condition.
Im not really sure what this was. The game felt good, graphics were nice but simple. My character wouldnt walk, but i didnt pass the clock test anyway. And the PC way too **** anoying. You tried to make a GlaDOS like AI, but you just made an ****
Worked just fine, but sure was wacky
Great visuals and mood. But needs more depth! Definitively need more content.
1. Play hard 2. Making a bloodbath by throwing a broken hard drive at a co-worker. 3. Get a hand cramp from playing 4. ??? 5. Profit
Really nice puzzle game. But hard to master
The simple games are the best. But the graphics are way too minimalistic and unity stock.
Just like in real life.
It is not working for me... When i start the .exe it shows me a window for one frame and then closes it right away.
The art is really nice, but it is lacking some music. Music would make it so much better. But overall nice
Looks nice overall. But needs a challange.
Im happy that i played this game :)
@hegemege that is actually a good idea. Should have thought of that myself.
Works fine but needs more content. Would be great with some more features!
Great Graphics. I wish your character would get upgrades for collecting family members.
You should have capt the maximum ammount of brothers. I just had 590 of them :D
Nice features but it was too overwheleming
Really neat. Not special, but neat and fun!
Great Features. Nice visuals. But i didnt quiet get the point of the game...
A clear 5/5 in Mood here. You need something to find out what you have to do at all, but after that it's quite good. The features are very basic, but overall the game works well and the overall concept fits, especially for 48 hours.
Impressive what you've all done in 48 hours. - The monsters are super - The idea is great - The map is very large - There are many mechanics that are interesting
Aside from the bugs you probably know about, the content is good and the number of features is impressive. Good work
It would be a clear 5/5 in Mood for me if there was music, - Great simple graphics - A lot of good texts - Works well
There are some things I have to criticize, for example the very slow development of the game and the fact that you are not really brought into the situation. But beyond that, the style is nice, the idea is good and for 48 hours you definitely did something impressive.
The game is really very polished. Very very good. I can't say anything about the music except it's the best I've ever heard in a game jam 7/5. There's a little too little ammo in the level.
The audio is clearly a 5/5. The graphics are quite nice, but in any case much better than many other participants. And you really have fun playing!
I actually really liked this and i was in great joy when i finally did it. Simple but great Good Job
A very good entry. The graphics are really enormously good. But the game is completely lacking in innovation.
Its difficult at the beginning, but its great when you get the hang of it. I like it, tho there is a lot to improve like: - Graphics (They always can be imporved, you might aswell ignore that) - Stabbility (I had a couple of bugs, i think) - Content (Same as Graphics, there is always more) - And nothing really beats a start screen, decent control descriptions and so on. The game feels a bit barren.
Its pretty nice. The effort was definitely worth it. However, I think there could have been a little more innovation. Music is always better than no music.
@ofirma85 I removed the problem with the stun and that you could get below 0 health with the first patch. And thanks for the kind words
It's a little bit basic. The graphics are great, but the collision and the jump cycle take some getting used to it. The victory melody is much too loud. But you know all these things anyway. Apart from that, the idea is nice and the realization is very good for 48 hours. Polished and with more levels you would have a really good game.
I don't really understand everything, especially because the UI is very complicated and I couldn't get myself to play it for long because I can't understand what's happening. But that's probably because of me. You definitely hit the theme, the style is very simple but works and I didn't find any bugs. Pretty solid for 48 hours. Great job
The game didn't work for me. It always crashed when I pressed Start. But you should definitely keep trying and join in again in April. Maybe you'll see if you can create better graphics in another program, for the next time
@caspercaper17 Windows 10. You should be able to export this via the unity exporter just fine for win 10. I think the bug has something to do with the start screen. There should be an error in one of the buttons.
The sound is torture. But you already noticed that. At Unity, sound is actually quite simple. What couldn't you fix? Apart from that the playing is good. I think it's very good that you can set the resources beforehand. That gives the game replayabillity. The graphics also fits.
Nice. This is a great take on the theme. And beyond that you actually did a fantastic card game for 48 hours. Well done. And game is fun gg
My little bug report (I played Web 1.0) 1. If you run diagonally, you have twice the running speed. 2. If you sacrifice your leg and die, you will restart with only one leg and half your speed.
Now to the game: As usually your game feels and looks really polished. The music is fantastic again and the effort you put into your story is marvelous. And your game isn't really that easy. This is a really solid ldjam game!
Oh, well hello there triple A game. Great graphics, nice idea and very fun. And you get extra points for the great graphics/models7textures/sounds.
Before the review: You need to post a link to your source code for a compo entry.
The game: Nice style, good fun and congrats on finishing it. Little tip, you can use the no friction material in your collider, to not get stuck on the walls. You can either import it from the assets store or it is already installed in your unity game.
The controls are a bit difficult and the sacrificing scared me the first time it came up. But 10/10 for the effort. Good job
The story falls a bit flat for me. There isn't much to read and there aren't really alternative paths as well. But you get a million thousand points for your sound design and at least a hundred thousand points for the eerie pictures. This was terror in picture and audio. Very well done.
I can really see, that the team put a lot of effort into the game. But it wasn't really working for me. My villagers and the goblin were doing a mosh pit ON the fire while I was spamming buildings, building fences that didn't work and fighting with the controls. But the world generation is great and I think this could be great, without the bugs.
Your sprites and animations are a delight, though they glitch out sometimes. For graphics and a lot more it is a 5/5 for me. But the game is too hard for me to hardly go beyond the first room.
Well done. I really like the effects, all the particle systems and the good ol' post processing behavior. Looks stunning and the game is a lot of fun.
BOI, those are some FLOATY controls. You shouldn't use unity physics for jumping and walking. But you probably had a good reason to do so. Besides that it is a great entry. The graphics are fine, the concept is nice and the game is actually fun. You did good on your first compo. I can't wait to see, what you are doing next.
Wow, good game. Great sprites, great sounds. Good(but a bit strange controls. Remember that y and z are not good buttons for controls, since they have different positions on different keyboards. I had to do a weird crab grab^^). Very solid entry.
Did you do all the models, textures and graphics by yourself? The controls are a bit unreliable, but the graphics are very nice, the effects and moves you can do are interesting and made me play a long time.
¿wAtThEfRiCk¿ I love the style of the game. All the randomness the game portraits with the peanut customers, the strangely styled phones, the conversations and of course, when you change the camera, you actually change to the pov of the goose and that's why the camera is rotating. Very nice and very wat the f
I really love your concept. Simple but fun and effective. I could play this for hours. It looks like it is supposed to be a mobile app. You should think about polishing the game and releasing for smart phones. I would play that.
@tudvari I think I know what you mean. But, oh well, 48 hours are "only" 48 hours^^.
@syrapt0r Am I allowed to make a GIF out of it?
@raphael-maia Appreciate it.
@mia-devs THANK YOU. THIS MEANS A LOT TO ME: BUT WHY ARE WE SCREAMING?
@sebastien-bourgeois I tried really hard to make the game strange and mysterious. That's why the menu looks like a bios. But i eventually ran out of time to make really thick atmosphere.
The sounds are a bit boring. But besides i really like your game. You did very well for 48 hours. Good job and great game
In the game, I can use a gun to kill myself, but not like you would think :D. This is a great game. Very hard but addicting. I found one "bug" I think. Bombs more than often just fall through the ground.
BTW you need to add a link to the source code, if you want to make a compo entry.
The game is in a very basic style, but that dosn't at all effect the great game play. Your concept is very simplistic but also very effective and I can see myself spending hours on this to beat high scores.
Wow, this is really well done. It looks extremely polished. It has an addictive game loop. Graphics and audio are as great as in any indie game, that had more than 48 hour. Good job. Really well done.
The game left me feeling like
gameMood.png
In addition, I will simply repeat the previous comments and say that this "game" deserves sound design. Your application was really pleasant to look at and painting is always fun.
I love these alchemy like games. It is a fun concept of strategy and experimentation. Good graphics great SFX and it is working really well. This is a great contest entry.
Great graphics, strong atmosphere and a simple yet effective concept. Extra point for volumetric lights^^.
Thew music was a tat annoying. But beyond that this was great fun. The game has an original touch to the jump and run genre, by disabling some obstacles' trough spells. The sprites were simple but good-looking and for a jam game it is a long play.
I know it would actually be unnecessary extra work, but it would go so well with the game if the last level was a Spaceship Dogfight as you imagined it to be. The atmosphere is the strongest part of the game. The gameplay loop is nice and inviting to play, but it's not really varied. Although the dialogues are fabulously written, I often just clicked the conversation boxes away so as not to disturb the flow of the game. Many elements in your game I like very much, but unfortunately they stand in each other's way. P.S. Awsome War Universe
@blint6 In fact, you can eat all other life forms. After you have developed your teeth. And you can also sprint by holding down the right mouse button. Maybe read the controls and please try the game again. I want to know what you think if you "actually" experience it.
@thiago-nascimento @blint6 I don't understand why the game is not working for you two. I have tested it on different machines and it always works as intended. Is there anything unusual about your set up, that cause this bug? The Speed of the frame rate does not affect the game, so that cant be it.
That's one funky game. It as the whole "Game Development Beginner" aesthetics. The controls are a bit clunky and unpredictable. Beyond that, it is great fun. Keep learning and you will nail it in april.
Oof. The controls are really a handful. I really like the gameplay loop and it invites you to play. The theme was also well implemented here. But I think the control should have been done with the mouse. But maybe I'm not so good^^ either.
I love these kinda games. A simple concept that is great fun with a crowd. And the passwords were tough. Triple extra points for aesthetics and music. The mood was on point in this game.
The controls were a bit unexpected and somehow the game had a terrible performance. Also the graphics good have been a bit nicer. Yet I found myself enjoying the game quite much and actually playing for a long time. Great strategy game and good execution of the theme.
The character really looks groggy. That's a compliment. This game has a nice touch and is excellent for 48 hours, but sadly isn't really innovating. Make sure you enter in April again. I would love to see something different from you too
That was awesome. The gameplay loop is a lot of fun. Particularly on short breaks. Extra points for making it an app. Now I always have the game with me. face.png
Simple game with an important message. Most of what could be said about this piece of art has been already said, so I will go with: "Good job for 48 hours. Nice aesthetics. Very innovative."
This game really keeps you in the dark. Pun intended. I think this game would have needed a bit more time in development. It still has completly game breaking bugs. For example, you just don't make a sound and you watch the timer grow forever. While I'm writing this, I'm already at 500 seconds. Besides, it's funny that some barriers can be removed, but only if you make the loudest sound. Other barriers just kill you. I think the idea is very interesting and the aesthetics of the game are very promising. But it just lacks too many basic features.
Well that was... Short. It is a nice try for a game. The art is fantastic and the controls are on point. Sadly there isn't anything to the game. It ends when it should actually begin.
I thought this was just another shoot em up, because i did not read your page. Boy was i wrong. Boy, was i surprised when the first rewind hit me :D. Great game, audio and graphics. I love the idea. I think the one hit is a bit hard. I took me a lot of lives to get anywhere far.
It is a bit unclear which way the train will drive and which rails break and why they do so. But I liked the gameplay loop and loved the graphics. The music was more than a fit.
Wow, this music. It hyped me up soo much, hearing that horn. The graphics are very pleasant. Best I have seen so far. And the gameplay is not only fitting for the theme, but also fun and innovative.
The concept is well executed with nice graphics, good sound and straight forward controls. I wish you have been able to pull box, not only push them. But that would have ruined a lot of riddles, wouldnt it?
@indigo Nah man, i was lucky to find some sounds online. The only thing i did was the egg sound. And dont ask^^
@ukulelefury Thank you so much. You clearly saw, what i was going for.
@mrhthepie ah yes. You described every other level^^. Try is out again if you like to. The levels appear in a random sequence and make sure to use the time slow.
chickenclear.gif @barelyevengames @ale
Well, this sure was a SWEET game. Tho i was kinda running on circles here^^. Not too much to say here but nice try.
One of the best entries I played. Well done in every aspect.
I think the eels are very under powered. Maybe if the hose had been longer, the game would have felt more tactical and less constraint by its own concept. But you definitely get 5/5 for humor. Very funny and well-made.
Your style of making games is really down to EARTH. Tho you were really shooting for the STARS with this one^^. Everything is great. The concept is very basic and so is the game play loop. But it fits the theme nicely and is fun and it is polished. Great idea executed well!
Stunning graphics and i like the story. Sadly the concept was way over done in this jam. Tho your entry was definitely one of the best.
Well this game surely had everything. Great music, great graphics and a great game loop. Very addicting.
Sure it is a bit short. But what it lacks in content it makes up in sprites and idea. The story is gripping and fits the theme nicely.
I sure thought I was caught in a loop. The gameplay is very repetitive and I think that that is a compliment^^
Well, if this isn't a little perfect puzzle game. I like a lot. Its fast-paced, has a lot of interesting elements and you definitely nailed the theme. The only thing that throw me off a bit is the colliding electrons, that don't respawn. I feel like they should respawn. But that may ruin some of the riddles.
Difficult game with a great concept. Makes for some nice riddles. The art was simple but effective. I lvoe th sun. Really looks hot.
Awesome puzzle game. Not only are the graphics and mechanics nice, the riddles are very difficult too. Really well-made in a short time.
Well this was a waste of time. But I bet that was your plan all along. This can hardly be called a game but I still appreciate what you did and how you interpreted the theme.
Well that music is a total banger. Your concept is very fresh. You nailed the theme. The sprites are beautiful and functional. I cant say anything bad about this.
Wow, this is nice. Everything is well done and I love the concept. Very easy to get in and you can play for a long time. Restart should be quicker tho.
The game is not much, but feels great and has a nice arcade-gameloop. I would have preferred a crosshair and different projectiles tho. You get extra points for the audio!
The game is a bit easy. But that just made me accept the challange and play thru the whole experience. Good design nice art.
The graphics fabulous. The controls were sharp and spot on. Sadly the idea wasn't too original and the game was pretty easy, yet this is one of the most refined entries in this whole contest. I liked it a lot and finished every level.
The art of this game is phenomenal. The game also has an intense atmosphere, thanks to the great UI, sounds and the music.
I haven't seen one like this before. The concept is very original, and the games works smoothly. Sadly a challenge is not existent and the gameplay becomes more of a chore after a while. This "chore" was still delivered quite pleasant. Music and art were great and playing through the whole experience went by like a breeze.
This works well enough, to keep me motivated. Classic Arena shooter controls and look. Animation and Models are definitely are major aspect of the game. With something as ambitious as this game, you should always plan for some play testing and balancing. I couldn't even make the next phase. I just did not know where to look.
I appreciate a lot about this game. The style, the gameplay, the concept and theme were well-thought-out and executed. Yet the story is not really my cup of pee. *Tea Stupid autocorrect
Both the idea and the art style don't feel too original, but were well executed non-then the less. The controls are a bit too "floaty", I think. Not really snappy. Yet the game was really well-made, if one has your time constraint in mind. Good job.
This is one of those games you have to look out for. Original idea, simple but well executed graphics, great sound and polished. Im really impressed. Sadly i ran into an error, i believe. I died too many times on level 6 and after a while the blue character wouldn't block or move the bullets anymore. He would walk right through them.
The music and the colors are surely the most important aspect of this experience. And they are beyond perfect. Very nice to look at, and I like the sound soo much. It feels like an 80s fever dream. The dialogue should also be highlighted here. It was fun in so many ways, yet it was a bit unpleasant to experience, since there were so many dead ends and not a nice way to read all the lines.
@sheinxy Have you tried the updated version? I have fixed the issue with the bad lighting, i believe.
@frogman Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed it. I think the first 150 m are great as a warm up, a running start. Playing past them does not really take long anyway. But thanks for that suggestion anyway.
@secret-magic-404 Wow, thanks so much for playing. Never compared it to a coin flip in a movie. That gives me complete new game ideas^^.
@healthire There is a 1 sec cool down on the jump and also on the double jump. Sadly i had no time to put in an indicator.
@xparker Dont apologize man, i live for the puns.
Hey @fishmasterino, have you tried the Jam version? Is it still too dark?
@tentaclemax Yo, the cartoony visuals are exactly what I'm working on right now. But I can not, for my life, figure out how they would look.
I like your twist of the theme. I can see the lack of time/energy you had while creating this game, yet this build looks more than solid. This is a good job.
The models and textures have a very diy-custom-job kinda look, but important is, that the graphics still bring the message across of what you want to deliver. Great game, especially if you weigh in the time. The only "problem" that I had was, if you would stop pressing forward, you wouldn't roll or decelerate, you would break.
I enjoyed the concept a lot, but I'm not really sure about the balancing and the sheeps. I made it into the top ten, yet I'm not sure what the goal or the best strategy would be. It is definitely a great entry. The music isn't really a strength.
The graphics were nice and the controls felt sharp. The game is not too original, but you don't need to reinvent the wheel to be fun. The level design could have been a bit better. There are some leaps of faith, you don't really know where the exit is, and sometimes you can't recover from a fall and have to walk through spikes and enemies.
The graphics were very atmospheric, but at the same time failed a bit, because the contrast of the environment and the background was so extremely low. I played the game for a long time and enjoyed it a lot, but after a time i started the question what the point of it all was. No real context and no progression. I believe the game is missing some sort of progress bar or something to show the players advancement more, or else it is just an idle game for a very beautiful piano piece.
I really wanted to love this. The art is great, the concept is original, the genre is right down my alley and the execution seems so good. But I found the game overall to be a bit too much out of my control. The signs don't really help in my opinion. The molatoes should have their own drive to find and collect gold. The molatoe house should automatically spawn new moles after a certain level and more quality of life improvements I could wish for. But after all, that is being picky. I stand with what I wrote in my first sentence and will still give this game a good score, because it has a lot of good aspects.
Great mini-game. The art is amazing, and the game has a nice difficulty curve. The humor is clearly the best part about this. The only "downside" to this entry is the small replayability. But that is being extra picky. The game has a lot to look out for and deserves every minute you spend with it.
You can double the walking speed, by walking forward and sideways at the same time. o avoid this, make sure to only multiply the final vector of the walking direction once with the speed multiplier and not every axis or input each. I did that mistake before. You should also read up about the lighting tab in unity. Very easy to understand and a powerful for static scenes like yours. Just check the "static" box for every object, that will not move and bake your scene.
All in all this looks nice. It is short, but well made and the player can see and enjoy every step of the workflow, every bit of work you put into the game.
Very ambitious. You have done many things right, at least what I can see as a player. The only real problem I could see and that also explains most of the other problems are your ambitions with this game and the jam. I can only recommend to you, that in future jams you try something that needs less work, because that will lead to more time for learning, improving and an overall better experience with jam, I believe. Still great work for the short time.
How many TV remotes does a guy need. And why does he put three slices of pizza down into hi couch? Anyway, great concept, this is short enough to work as a mini game, but with enough replayability to keep yo busy for a while. The art looks good. Not too fancy and not bad at all. Really good.
The camera could have been zoomed out a bit further. Sometimes you had to take a leap of faith. And the spikes could have been more visible after being colored. Maybe inverting their hue or painting them red plus purple would have worked better. Besides that I was really surprised by the great execution of an original idea. The level design was flaw less and the controls were on point. Consider our deal for filled.
My name is Joye and i am a chromaholic. It all started with the 48 ldjam and i have been addicted ever since.
This is clearly a game that wants to highlight the sound and art the design and most of the time i like these more then any other entry. The game is pleasant to look at and the sound makes it very atmospheric. What the gameplay loop lacks in comfort features and structure is replaced (and even enhanced) by the graphics and the atmosphere. You really feel like you are there. Where ever there is.
Very polished. The idea for a puzzle was nice. The style felt fresh and the game had many impressive parts. The music lacked a bit. The loop was getting monotone very quickly, yet the sound effects were very well executed. The were some minor bugs, like the shreek would play two times, if you have stepped on a broken tile, but that isn't worth mentioning.
I'm not only fascinated but the looks and concept of this game. I absolutly can not explain on how you managed to make this in the unity engine. Did you make non-euclidean rooms in Unity??? How did you manage to build the repeating room with the pillar in the middle and the cube as an item. I would die to see the making off!
Ohy my, i absolutly love this. It's the simple ideas that always impress me. I'm really jealous that I didn't come up with that. Really cool. My record is 14
@barrier Its supposed to be a feature. The game was designed as a tedious work grind. The lamps are supposed to add nerve wrecking atmosphere.
@matthewlacker Did you read the controls or the tips on the walls? That would help you with the starting levels. Also there is a level select in the main menu.
@laurent Thanks for playing my game.
@flying-dog-fish Congrats on finishing the game. I saw a lot of people struggling with the riddles. Yeah, i really over did it with the lamps.
Great game loop. You just keep playing anf going for more gems. The art is pleasant and the sound i well-designed. The control scheme is a bit difficult for non-QWERTY keyboards tho.
The look and idea of this game is really nice. But sometimes things happen, and I didn't know why. A bit more tutorial would have probably come a long way. Now, I don't know what's bug and what's feature ^^
02:39. But I could not have done it, if I hadn't read the solution in the comments. I'm a bit disappointed that "winnable" was not an alternate winning solution. Beyond that, I'm very impressed how great and well-thought-out your first ldjam entry was. Really nice.
Some quality of life functions would walk a long way for this game. Skip to the zombie hord. Tear down buildings and so. But I liked the game a lot. If it wouldn't take like 15 mins to play one round, I would play more. Art was nice tho. You rarely see something that fits the mood as well as this.
The diamonds really surprised me. And I thought I knew what was going on. This game is so simple and easy to pick up, that I couldn't stop myself from playing. So addicting.
This is already a lot to unpack. You have graphics, good music, the story and the gameplay. You have accomplished a lot of a jam. The controls were the biggest obstacle for me, because they did not align to the player character but stayed static. Maybe a point and click styled movement would have been a better choice.
I really enjoyed this. It was a great interpretation of the theme. You really were delaying the inevitable. Sadly, I can't give you five stars, because you have floating islands and that is strictly forbidden in ldjam.
JK Loved it. Want more. Great job
The art and story is really cute. Brings you right into the moment, which is a huge success for a jam game. It's a bit disappointing that there isn't much dialogue or many options. The best VN have branching paths, but I guess that also takes a long time to plan. Some sounds would have been nice too.
Awesome game. Its just so much fun shooting and going for the high score. This game is incredible at creating flow. Well done and amazing art.
There are a lot of great things here. The sound design and gameplay are classic. The art is expertly done and the game very easy to pick, but get more challenging throughout the game. Very nice.
I said it before and i say it again. You can never do anything wrong with a simple but well done Twin-Stick shooter. I wished there were some comfort functions like restart and stuff. And a wider view would have been nice. Still, well done.
Very nice entry. Its amazing how much fun a Twin-Stick shooter can be. And this one is especially well done. I really could see this as a serious release.
Really great looks. Awesome atmosphere and nice execution of the theme. But the controls were a choice, I believe. I think they could be intentionally this floaty. I feel it fits the challenge. But in case you want your controls to be more snappy, make sure to use the constant force component in unity to increase gravity, for example. That's the smartest way to do non-floaty controls in 3D, at least as far as I know.
It's amazing how strategic this is with only one button. You really start to plan how to reach higher scores by just choosing the side of your cannon and archer. The art is so funny and the restart is such a nice touch, but the gameplay. So original.
You know, I have a soft spot for cute little games, which let you relax for a short while. Especially those who incorporate the capitalism-born payment scheme and anxiety based law that is paying rent. With Quackenfarm you get what you see. A nice way to pass a little time of the day. Or a **lot**
I feel like saying anything bad about this game is pure blasphemy. Like talking ill about pizza or cake. The sound is *chef's kiss. The art is to pay for. The design is marvelous, and the game flow is perfect. The controls tho... I couldn't play in browser because the chrome wanted to make bookmarks or delete the tab. I downloaded the game and tried my controller. It worked, but the character wouldn't stop jumping or walking. It's fine that it is not perfect. It is in every other regard. Thank you so much for this.
Wow, this really tests your memory. It always baffles me, how some people come up with the most basic but original and new ideas in a game jam. This is so fresh and new, but also seems like I should have seen it already. And the great execution with art and sound just adds to that. Very well. Also, I'm not gonna tell you my highscore, because I am embarrassed, thank you very much.
Really smart interpretation of the theme. This is definitely something I see myself delaying. The art of the trash was I really nice touch, the socks for example. Worked really well. It was a really nice highscore hunt. I got to 23. Have you played a bit around with the unity physics engine? I believe this could have been nicer with a more predictable behavior of the items, by increasing gravity, decreasing drag and giving them all a bit more friction. But this is all just based on guessing by playing. Maybe it turned out as you wanted.
The game is great, and it is such a fun thing to sneak up on the living, appear and smite them in an instance. I struggled a bit with moving through the streets, tho. You should be able to move through walls while in the astral plane, I think. And I believe that the 2D collider of the reaper is a square. It's easier to go around corners for any kind of character if they have round edges. A sphere usually.
This is such a great game already. I really have nothing bad to say about this. Fun mechanic, great art, so many original enemies and the atmosphere. I'm speechless and I envy your genius. Very well done.
You got a really good concept. This is the base for a great puzzle game. Maybe use the battery to do more than just starting the ship. Like lowering electronic bridges or powering lights. I can see how time was the biggest obstacle. The art is fantastic. Very detailed.
Hello police? I just got assaulted, because this music absolutely s l a p s! I like the looks of your entry a lot and I got completely absorbed by the great game loop. This has great flow. I don't really have any problems with your game, but I wish there was more of it.
Aight, lets get the elephant out of the room. The collision is a lot to handle if you want to get quick thorugh the ship. I would recommend you try to use physics based movement for your game for an easy and cheap way to get by. Just do GetComponent
Instant a classic. It has all the feel and love of an 80s arcade game. The highscore hunt, the loveable graphics and the smart but effective idea. I love this a lot.
The graphics are simple but very effective. I feel it is difficult to have such great art when limited to only two colors and so few pixels. Your team still did great.
Boi, i would have killed for having such a great idea. As you have said yourself, the execution is not flawless, but it is still a great entry. Your idea is really strong and you did most of the things one would expect from the concept. I believe this is a very solid game. The music is a bit wild tho. Didnt expect the stealth game to be set in a jam session.
Damn thats nice. Your art, your sound and your controls absolutly slaps. It seems like you have a lot of talent. The idea feels a bit bare-boned. Just not much about it. But that is fine concidering the great game that this still is. And by a lot.
Oh man, thats just a classic Daniel. Loved it. Create concept, solid execution and the pay off was really funny. Perfect
I liked a lot about this. Your starting concept is really smart, nothing beats game but make it janky. Tho I think that the on screen controls are a bit of a unnecessary hassle. Good job tho
It is a rare occasion that I find an ldjam game that o just can not put down. And this did it for me. I like this a lot mostly because it was great in every way. Sound, look, gameplay and the concept where just well made. Good job.
I consider myself an ebic gamer. That's why I am very proud of myself for achieving this epic score. Screenshot 2023-01-13 104846.png. Games like these are the ideal ldjam entries. They are short and easy to experience. That is simple at heart, but still a lot of fun, and they are just filled to the brim with love for the craft. This is great.
First I was surprised when I read the controls. But once I was in game it all made sense. There was a lot to explore, but the bgm made it a bit tiering. I liked it. Good job on the graphics.
I feel like this game was created with a very large scope. And I loved a lot of things about it. It was cool to switch characters after a while and experience something completely new. The strategy part and the action part also played well together. This game surprised me in many ways and that is remarkable.
Wow, this is a lot. The game looks fantastic and feels incredible, huge for an LDJam game. I feel like it is a bit too big for the people that are just flying in to rate their 20 games and see what the others have done. But this does not take away from how well this game already looks and feel. There was a lot I loved. Like the counters for the collectables and the easy to beat enemies. The only thing that could have improved this, would be to give the player more options for movement. It's a big world, it would be great if it would be more quick to explore it.
I love your interpretation of the theme. Definitely a twist I haven't seen yet. The collection of different task made for a great experience. Playing through the whole game was fun. And that means a lot for a compo game. Well done.
Damn, this concept can be explored soo much more. Great idea.
The sprites are so pretty. This looks really great. A couple more movement option and a clearer style to different between important objects and unimportant objects could have gone a long way. Still liked a lot. Nice twist on the theme.
Classic, quick game. I like the concept and there is a lot of depth to it. Will you hit the barn and push it to safty or will you focus the enemeys to get them down quickly? Stay with the barn or try to take the attention away from it? It was easy to pick up, but difficult to get an actual high scroe. And the art and sounds were amazing too.
Oh, is that how you collect sunflower? I always wondered. This gameplay is really well done. The effects tie everything together and make this very solid. But because of that, the lack of Quality of life is very obvious. No pause many, nothing that explains the controls or objectives (what does the bar at the top of the screen do and why can I fill it by pressing the space bar), not even in the game description page, and the map goes on for a while, and then you can just drop off. This game is still great, but I feel like these inconsistent, obvious things should have been dealt with somehow.
Great entry. This is a very fast mini-game. It takes a couple of throws to get the hang of it, but after that you get right into the flow. I only missed two or three shots. And the increase in difficulty was perfect for me. I really liked that. The only thing is that the game just stops after the last box. I got the last box to the other side, but not into the truck, and that was it. No end screen, no score, no "play again". I think there should have been something.
I actually really liked this. This is already such a great start. You should be proud of what you have achieved.
I can see what you wanted to achieve with this game and i really appreciate it. This was a nice alternative to the hectic and confusing gameplay of many other projects. You set out to make something de-stressing and relaxing, and the game accomplishes this. I would really like to have more of it. More game would be perfect.
Man, those are some punchy sounds. And the guns add the right amount of strategy. I would love to see this being expanded to a finished game.
While making our game, we talked about how we wanted the simple things to be satisfying. We wanted satisfaction as our main ideal and drive for our player. Your game truly excels at this. The sprites are wonderful, and the animations are perfect every frame. Everything moves and is alive, and there is already so much love in such a tiny game. Congratulations to the team. You definitely made one of the best games this jam.
I really like the concept. For me, a game like this would be too much. But you did amazing with this one. It could only be improved with more interaction feedback. I was a little bit lost in those regards.
The feel of the game and the style really feels consistent. You rarely see somebody putting effort into styling the menu and the fades between scenes. This gives this whole project an extremely polished feel. The game play loop is a lot of fun and not too frustrating, yet challenging. Great effort on every front.
Then janky animations sure made me look twice. This game has a special way of being incrdedible. And i have to git gut :(
This is a very ambitious game, I think. The game itself worked well (just the score was a bit confusing) and what looks like an ice cream truck going to space is a fun concept. And there were a couple of really great beatmaps, which in itself is already pretty hard. The only thing I can really recommend you, is to spend more time on polishing the look of your game. This was truly something else. Especially because of the hard colors you used for the sky and ground in the first levels and the style of the blocks and angle of the camera. I think there is a reason why most of the rhythm games look really similar.
Somehow, this is a fighting game to me. The driving physics are just janky enough that going trough traffic is unpredictable. I am amazed and i have never laughed this had while playing a LDJam game. Good job.
No joke. My biggest issue by far with this, was that the wheels of the train didn't go round and round, round and round. I enjoyed playing this. It has just the right depth of gameplay for a LDJam game. Very nice.

Very very difficult. I barley could make it past a couple crates. The physics could use a bit of an adjusment. But everything else is already supreme.
Who in the world has that many hydrants on one house, let alone one street? It took me a couple of swings(lol) to get the hang of it, but I think I figured it out in the end. What first struck me were the graphics. The colors don't really create a lot of contrast between what is interesting to the player and what is in the background. But I would still say it's a great art style. You rarely see something like that for a game jam.

Like other commenters already said, this is very meditative and enjoyable to watch. It took me awhile to understand the controls and how to unlock new abilities. A tutorial would have been a big help. But I really liked the game and especially the vibe of the game, that you created with the different nuances.
I didn't quite understand the different types of critters. I understand that the fire critters burn, and the magic critter eliminate magic barriers. But I don't know what to do with ice and earth and the mixtures. A tutorial or a guide would have been fantastic. Because the rest is amazing. The sound work well and let the game shine and I love the critters with their animation really feel alive. I played a lot of it for a long time, even tho i didn't understand the types 😅
@slay-a-stone, @kokostyrko Yeah that was always the plan, but it took us forever to get the machine at all. More strategy to the buyable mods would definitely be the next step. To eventually land with what @yoav-kagan said. Slots like Balatro.
My brain ain't made for the riddles. But this game is very well-made. This is a great entry for LDJam, because the graphics and sounds are very entertaining, and I'm just very impressed, if somebody successfully does a puzzle game. Congratulations on a fine game. Also buff rat = funny
The feel and atmosphere of the game is just 👌. This is a great break from other, rather stressful entries to LDJam. This is a breath of fresh air. This also works very well as an educational game. Thank you for teaching me.
This game represents a core principle of this community. A game developer who is so desperate for sound effects that he makes strange noises into his microphone. Who hasn't been there? Fantastic. I love it.
This is something I can spend a lot of time with. Just fiddling with the different numbers and see what does what and what does what well. I think, what the game is missing, to work well for many people, is more communication, button feedback and numbers, that let one understand what is happening. I think the underling construct is very well, and I love this idea for the jam.
If you drop the -t from Locust, you get Locus, which is the Latin word for place or lavatory. It means nothing in the context of the game, but it surprised me. And lavatories, like this game, are pretty good.Screenshot 2024-10-11 204127.png
I MADE SECOND PLACE!!!1!!! I definitely put some time in this game. And I mean a lot. I love the aspect of collecting the creatures, and the online high score is perfect for a skill game like this. This is a perfect LDJam for me.
I love this game. In fact, I would even print the game out, and then I would have my own physical version of the game, but I can't use the printer at work anymore. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that I quit my job. Probably not. Nonetheless, I've been able to play a few rounds of this game and I really like it. It's unique and special how the different game components harmonise with each other and in combination with the beautiful cards, the whole experience is a joy and incomparable to other card games.
I'm jealous of games like this. Everything is just right here. The idea, the sound, the graphics and the humor. The concept is simple, but with the different levels it offers just enough variety to be challenging and motivating. Perfect.
